 So we got another group shot! These really aren’t that bad I just get intimidated and put off working on them so it took longer than it should have haha. Anyway Iago’s backstory and close up pics below! Thanks!

While Zurine Abasolo is a proper teacher who, while kindhearted, remains stern in educating her students, Iago Ferreiro is more laid back and hands on. Ferreiro actually got his start as a chef training and working in Madrid for many years gaining a degree of fame due to his young age as he rose to prominence with his culinary skills. Truthfully no one knows why he left the gastronomic world though it’s often assumed he simply wanted a vacation thus making his change to a teacher at the Zaldun Akademia surprising. Iago likes to have fun and is more concerned with teaching his students life lessons and acting as a parental figure to guide and comfort them than he is with teaching. Nonetheless he takes his role as Class 1-K’s homeroom teacher with joy and enthusiasm always urging his students to have fun despite being in school. When it comes to academics he teaches culinary class, mathematics, and finance much to his students surprise given how mundane the latter two subjects are compared to his bombastic personality. However, being close friends with Zurine they often merge their classes giving his students some much needed discipline while he provides her students with a well needed break. Given the Zaldun Akademia being an alternative school, Iago’s class has only 10 students consisting of (from left to right) Katryna Sevchenko, Aitor Extebarria, Kidd Yuda, Nekane Abaroa, Marko Sagar, Eneko Euria, Bianco Ochoa, Aisha Lellouche, Basil Forsythe, and lastly Ophelia Descoteaux.

MUSIC NEWS: ‘BIME LIVE’ ANNOUNCES MORE ACTS FOR 2019

Southern Europe’s biggest autumn festival, BIME LIVE, announces the next raft of acts for 2019, including Jamiroquai, Michael Kiwanuka, Morgan, The Divine Comedy and Do Nothing. They're set to join Kraftwerk, Amaia, Carolina Durante, Mark Lanegan Band and more.  BIME LIVE 2019 lasts for two days; between Friday, November 1 to Saturday, November 2.  It’s based in BEC! in Bilbao, Spain. Sónar se reinventa y lanza unas jornadas virtuales y presenciales

Es una buena noticia que festivales del calibre del Sónar se adapten a la coyuntura actual. Sónar+D CCCB se celebra los próximos días 18 y 19 de septiembre una edición extraordinaria en formatos virtual y presencial. 

Sónar+D CCCB mezcla los shows más impactantes de la escena local con actuaciones exclusivas de artistas internacionales. 

Además de contenido on demand en streaming, se podrá asistir a actividades en vivo en el Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelna (CCCB) con aforos limitados.

El programa incluye estrenos y shows exclusivos para la ocasión de Max Cooper, Arca, Maria Arnal i Marcel Bagés, Ryoji Ikeda, Nicola Cruz, Morad, Ms Nina, Niño de Elche, la charla entre Holly Herndon y Richie Hawtin, o las colaboraciones especiales en formato audiovisual inmersivo de Alba G. Corral con Carles Viarnés y entre John Talabot y Desilence, entre otros.

La programación en directo vía streaming tendrá lugar el viernes 18 y el sábado 19 de septiembre, entre las 10:30h de la mañana y las 02:00h de la madrugada a través de www.sonar.es y www.sonarplusd.com. Las actividades presenciales en el CCCB se celebrarán los dos días entre las 10:30h de la mañana y las 00:00h de la noche, mientras que las sesiones de DJ desde la Torre d’Alta Mar podrán seguirse únicamente online de 12:00h del mediodía hasta la medianoche.

Los contenidos de vídeo bajo demanda estarán disponibles de forma ininterrumpida desde el inicio del festival, el viernes a las 10:30h de la mañana, y hasta su cierre el sábado noche a las 02:00h. 

Por primera vez, betevé, el medio de comunicación público de Barcelona, será el encargado de la realización y la retransmisión en directo de Sónar+D 2020. Además, algunos de los contenidos se podrán seguir a través del canal de televisión. Asimismo betevé, colaborador habitual de Sónar y Sónar+D, hará una programación especial la semana previa al evento con la reposición de los conciertos de James Rhodes (15/09 a las 17h.), Max Cooper & Brubacker Glassforms (17/09 a las 17h.), Los Voluble (16/09 a las 17h.), Aitor Etxebarria (14/09 a las 17h.), Berlinist (18/07 a las 19h.), y los programas especiales Sónar Local Flow (19/09 a las 19h. y 20/07 a las 00h.), sobre la escena musical barcelonesa, y Sónar Calling (18/09 a las 18h.), sobre la celebración de los 25 años de Sónar en 2018.

Esta mañana ha comenzado la campaña de la cosecha de la sal en el Valle Salado de Añana, con la participación de los cocineros Jon Gil y Luis Hernani, coordinadores del proyecto #PonTuGranitodeSal. Junto al diputado general de Álava y al gerente del Valle Salado de Añana, han recogido la primera sal de la cosecha 2020, elaborada con técnicas ancestrales desde hace más de 7.000 años. Gil y Hernani han sido reconocidos por su puesta en marcha del programa solidario en el que han participado una treintena de amantes de la gastronomía con recetas online para apoyar la Sal de Añana durante la crisis del coronavirus. El diputado general de Álava y presidente del patronato de la Fundación Valle Salado de Añana, Ramiro González, ha querido agradecer también su solidaridad a las y los participantes en el programa #Pontugranitodesal, por “apoyar uno de nuestros grandes patrimonios, la sal de Añana, dotándose de imaginación, de adaptación y, sobre todo, de cariño por lo nuestro”. “Quiero agradecer a todos y todas que, tanto los que están hoy aquí como los que no han podido venir, su apoyo incondicional al trabajo bien hecho del Valle Salado, a esta manera de hacer las cosas, única en el mundo, sin perder las raíces, y con compromiso por la sostenibilidad social y mediambiental de sus pueblos”. German electronic music pioneers, Kraftwerk, are set to headline with their spectacular 3D set-up after a triumphant tour of the world’s top contemporary art museums. With their visions of the future, Kraftwerk created the soundtrack for the digital age of the 21st century. Their compositions, using innovative techniques, synthetic voices and computerised rhythms, have influenced an entire range of music genres, from electronica and synth-pop to hip-hop and techno. BIME LIVE will also receive Mark Lanegan, former Screaming Trees and Queens Of The Stone Age frontman who has spent more than two decades reinventing himself as a solo artist. In May, he will release a new album that we can enjoy at BIME LIVE. Sónar 2017 suma hoy más de 60 shows

El legendario músico francés Cerrone, maestro de la música disco y habitual del neoyorquino Studio 54 con hits como “Supernature” o “Love In C Minor”, presentará unshow especial en Sónar de Noche con vocalistas en directo y todos los hits de su mítica trayectoria.

A la programación se incorporan una representación de lo más relevante de la escena nacional, como Dellafuente + Maka, Bad Gyal, Anímic, Aitor Etxebarria, Bejo, Playback Maracas, o el mítico dj Fran Lenaers. Red Bull Music Academy y Sónar completan también la programación del escenario SonarDôme con varios nombres consagrados y un buen número de jóvenes artistas y nuevos proyectos. Destacan el productor californiano Thundercat, el dúo americano experimental Matmos o el estreno mundial del show “Floorplan live“ del techno master de Detroit Robert Hood, con su hija Lyric; y C. Tangana, quizás ahora mismo el nombre más popular y relevante del rap nacional.   Además, se suman los sorprendentes shows tecnológicos de Nonotak, hoy en día, uno de los proyectos creativos más importantes del mundo en la aplicación de nuevas tecnologías a nivel escénico; y Boris Chimp, con una performance audiovisual sobre el primer chimpancé enviado a la Luna en 1969. Thundercat, Cerrone y DAWN actuarán en el Sónar Barcelona

España.- Thundercat, Cerrone, DAWN, Joe Goddard, Dellafuente + Maka y Andy Stott, son solo algunas de las 60 actuaciones que se han sumado al Sónar Barcelona 2017, según informaron hoy sus organizadores.

En esta próxima edición del festival se contará con más de 140 conciertos repartidos entre los ocho escenarios habituales y el nuevo escenario SonarXS, dedicado a la electrónica que se hace en la calle, como reguetón digital, collage ruidista, dancehall y las nuevas mutaciones del trap.

Dentro de las incorporaciones anunciadas el día de ayer, cabe destacar a Thundercat, bajista que combina soul y funk con electrónica psicodélica y que presentará su último álbum, “Drunk”.

Dentro del Sónar también estará el músico francés Cerrone, maestro de la música disco y habitual del neoyorquino Studio 54, con éxitos como “Supernature” o “Love in C Minor”.

Dentro de la programación se estará incorporando una amplia representación de la escena nacional, con C.Tangana, Dellafuente + Maka, Bad Gyal, Anímic, Aitor Etxebarria, Bejo, Playback Maracas, o el dj Fran Lenaers.

Adicional a todo esto, se sumarán los espectáculos tecnológicos de Nonotak, que aplica nuevas tecnologías a la escena, y Boris Chimp, que ha ideado una performance audiovisual sobre el primer chimpancé enviado a la Luna en 1969.

Por otro lado, el inglés Sohn, autor de un pop electrónico de tonos nocturnos, también llegará con nuevo álbum bajo el brazo, “Rennen”, mientras que Andy Stott ofrecerá un directo de techno y dub-house oscuro, con su último álbum, “Too Many Voices”, como motivo central.

Un grupo de tres mujeres que están innovando la música negra estarán en Sónar: DAWN con su r&b futurista; Jlin, que parte del footwork para llegar a la abstracción; y Princess Nokia, nueva figura del hip hop y el trap neoyorquino.

La actividad Sónar de Noche sumará a su programación de baile al norteamericano de origen iraní Dubfire, el neoyorquino Nick Hook y el canadiense Jacques Greene, entre otros.

Finalmente en el Sónar de Día destacarán la argentina Juana Molina, que está a punto de publicar un nuevo álbum de sonido muy electrónico, y Elysia Crampton, americana de origen boliviano que mezcla en su música sonidos ancestrales latinos con una avanzada producción digital.

Now is the time for Aitor Etxebarria, better known as El_Txef_A to expose his innermost feelings, as he’s already begun to on releases from labels like Hypercolour, Suol and Wazi Wazi. This time, he is undoubtedly on his best of form. Aitor, born and raised in the Basque Country, is in that group of artists sparingly measuring their output, always searching for the new, aiming for high quality instead of constant, monotonous releases. After years of dedicated work, El_Txef_A announces his debut album "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room". El_Txef_A stands for a specific and complex sound signature. His primary concern to develop a sound that people can identify with as well as just simply enjoy freely. Continuing in the Bilbao tradition, he is building a base of pure sampled sounds with studio sessions, live musicians and vocals to complement his production. Collaborations with vocalist Bisconti and Hannot supplies added depth to tracks like “Rise and Fall", and previous single "Lovely Minds" or "Save The World". A true milestone in this young Basque artist’s career, we are proud to present the fruits of his labours, "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room". Aitor Etxebarria aka El_Txef_A 26 years old young producer from Bilbao, after releasing at the well- known labels like Hypercolour, Suol or Waziwazi Music... Glen Hansard, Irish singer-songwriter, guitarist, and Oscar winner, will make his BIME LIVE debut, presenting his latest work, This Wild Willing, a folk-framed ode to experimentation with a Middle Eastern flourish.  Joining him is Alabama Shakes frontwoman, Brittany Howard, presenting Jamie, her new funk- and soul-tinged album, and first solo outing, in memory of her deceased sister.  Róisín Murphy also joins the bill, treating BEC! audiences to her quirky avant-garde electropop.  With her “Incapable” single fresh out of the oven, the Anglo-Irish songstress and former Moloko vocalist is dropping in on Bilbao as part of her European tour. Next up is the dark electronic rock and dream pop of Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel, better known under their Phantogram moniker, back with their latest single, “Into Happiness”. Then Omago, a young Basque act with a pop-rock essence and winner of the Soinu Berriak battle of bands put on by the Deputation of Biscay, will also be ascending to the stages of BIME LIVE. Lovers of the heftiest dance-led sounds will also have their own little piece of paradise, as the Gaua stage returns for another year.  The raw and reckless techno of Helena Hauff, eclectic sets of Daphni aka Caribou, polyvalence of UK producer, Pearson Sound, and pop-leaning house of Madrid’s Pional will be some of its protagonists.  Closing out the lineup of the festival’s anticipated club stage are Cooper Saver, L.A.-based Dublab radio DJ with releases on such labels as ESP Institute and Permanent Vacation;  and the post-house pronouncements of South Korean, Park Hye Jin.
