IDK if someone already asked this, but in your personal HCs, what are Shōto & Izuku's love languages for each other?
Izuku realised pretty quickly which language affected Shoto the most: words of affirmation. Granted, it was his words that ignited his partner's fire all those years ago; that was his first clue.
And lucky for Shoto, Izuku was a great talker, who would happily wax poetry about how amazing he was at every given opportunity.

I think, initially, Shoto's primary form of showing his affection was gift-giving. After all, he had unlimited access to the bank of Endeavour, and Izuku deserved to be spoiled.
However, as their relationship grew, Shoto realised just how much Izuku loved physical touch... so much more than any limited-edition All Might figurine he'd gifted him. At first, that made him nervous - Shoto wasn't very good at the whole "touchy-feely" thing and he still got uncomfortable whenever it was brought up.
It was frustrating, because he enjoyed touching Izuku; cuddling him; kissing him. It was just the build-up - he couldn't initiate physical contact himself.
He just had a lot of baggage to deal with, and while Izuku never pushed him, his own brain certainly made him feel guilty about not being a "good boyfriend".
It took a while, but luckily, he had a very patient partner, and as he worked through his deeper trauma in therapy, he allowed himself to become more tactile. Now, he loves wrapping Izuku in a hug when words aren't enough; he doesn't feel compelled to ask before leaning in for a kiss.
And there's no better motivation than seeing Izuku's flushed cheeks under the attention.

Summary:

There was only so much Izuku could take before he snapped.
All his life, he had been laughed at and looked down upon for showing emotion. He was a crybaby and a wimp. His mum had always told him that it was okay to let everything out, yet the older Izuku got, the more he began to doubt it; if it was okay, then why was he being punished for it?
Even after he'd entered UA and made friends - good friends - the comments continued. They weren't mean-spirited - instead played off as casual humour - but it was enough that a little piece of Izuku closed up each time. After all, his friends didn't know the impact of their words, and Izuku didn't want to be a buzz kill with the only people to ever give him the time of day. The same could be said when his teachers had brought it up.
And so, by the time they'd all graduated and he'd moved in with Shoto, Izuku had successfully managed to stop the waterworks, suppressed every negative emotion and stopped wearing his heart on his sleeve. He was still the same bubbly, smiley person he'd always tried to be. He just refused to let anyone see beyond that. He was the second coming of the Symbol of Peace, and that was all.
Part of him felt bad for hiding, for brushing off questions he didn't want to answer, especially with Shoto, who had never judged him for his emotional outbursts in the past; one of the two people who had told him that it was okay to cry. He just didn't want to worry him. Izuku had spent enough time worrying the people who care about him, and he refused to let that continue.
Sometimes, however, it was difficult to keep it all bottled up.
Sometimes, Izuku punched a little harder, edged closer to his limits than necessary, didn't tell anyone about the injuries he'd sustained from a fight; and sometimes, it was something trivial, like bursting into tears because he couldn't straighten out his right hand and no one was around to hear him break down.
Izuku liked to think he was subtle - he could regain his composure before anyone noticed - but nobody's perfect.
He didn't hear the door open, nor the quiet, concerned footsteps. It wasn't until he heard a soft knock on the open bedroom door that Izuku stilled, back facing Shoto from where he was sitting cross-legged on their bed. Muttering a curse, he frantically wiped his face and blew his nose as his partner approached.
'Hey.' The mattress dipped behind him when Shoto perched on the side. 'Something happen?'
Izuku shook his head.
Shoto contemplated his next words. 'You're upset though. Do you want to talk about it?'
He squeezed his eyes shut as a few residual tears escaped, and bit his wobbly lip.
'Not really.' His voice cracked slightly. 'I don't... I don't know how.'
'What do you mean?' Shoto was blunt, but the soft tone was evident. 'You don't know how to... talk about it?'
Izuku almost laughed at the irony: the person who often wouldn't shut up in his mumblings couldn't talk about what was bothering him. Meanwhile, his partner, whom most considered taciturn, was often clear in voicing his feelings. It made sense that Shoto didn't understand.
'I don't know how anymore.' He lowered his head and his shoulders hunched in a way that made his back ache. 'I've held back so much that I can't... articulate. I feel weak. I feel like a burden. I feel like... I don't want others to know what's going on inside my head.'
For the longest time, Shoto said nothing. Instead, he shuffled closer, then Izuku felt his partner's forehead rest between his shoulder blades. The contact helped, as did the position; he wasn't being observed.
'I had no idea you were holding back.' He sounded guilty, but before Izuku could assure him, he tentatively asked, 'Why did you start?'
He shrugged, thinking through his words before broadly recounting the gradual process of bottling everything up. It felt almost cathartic to tell someone, but it didn't change his discomfort at the idea of talking about his feelings, themselves.
'I was just in the kitchen, and my hand cramped and it made me think about how fucked up my body is, then it just escalated.'
He didn't want to elaborate further, but when Shoto hummed - making his back vibrate - he figured he didn't need to.
'That makes sense.' Gentle hands rested against his hips, waiting for Izuku's permission before snaking around his waist; his forehead never budged. 'It's a lot to shoulder on your own though. It isn't healthy.' He paused. 'You know you can talk to me, right? I won't judge you.'
'I know.' For some reason, acknowledging that had the tears quickly returning, as a sob built up in his throat. In one last effort, he tried swallowing it down. 'I know. I'm sorry. I just, I can't-'
'Izuku.' Shoto pressed a kiss to his back, grounding despite the thick jumper between them. 'Don't apologise, just let it out. You don't have to talk if you don't want, but it's okay to cry, remember? I'm not going anywhere and I'm not going to look at you any differently. I'm here and It's okay.'
Izuku nodded and took a breath. Maybe it was time to start fighting against the defence mechanism he'd built up, albeit reluctantly; it was a comfort zone, after all. That being said, he had to start somewhere, and while it wasn't perfect, having Shoto's unconditional support made the difference.
Izuku sobbed quietly - nothing like he used to, but no less genuine - and those arms tightened around him in response, a reminder of his previous words.
I'm here and it's okay.
Just this once, Izuku allowed himself to believe that.

Shoto wasn't entirely sure how he ended up in this position.
One moment, he was on his way to Midoriya's room—an excuse of wanting to look at his friend's All Might figure on his lips—and the next moment, he was being dragged into the neighbouring room, which belonged to the most repulsive character in class A.
Shoto tried not to look at the walls. He was mostly unbothered by the numerous pairs of tits around him—after all, there was only one broad chest that made him flustered and it wasn't a double D cup—but he really wanted to be able to look Midnight-sensei in the eye during class, so he kept his gaze firmly ahead. Shoto shuffled from where he was sitting on the floor, protected from the suspiciously stained carpet by the jacket he had placed on top of it and would later have to cremate.
He'd rather not contract an infection, especially when he didn't really want to be here in the first place.
'I've called you here today because I want to talk, man to man.'
Shoto raised an eyebrow when Mineta narrowed his eyes at him.

Birthday Reveal
The moment Shoto was inside, he shrugged off his coat and kicked off his shoes. He then lowered the bag full of presents to the floor, albeit delicately, before making his way to the bedroom; he didn't bother tidying up.
Birthdays were fun, now that he actually celebrated them, but they were also exhausting. Shoto figured he'd be used to the attention, considering his upbringing and hero ranking, but honestly, he couldn't have been more wrong. His family had been doting - always trying to make up for lost time - while his friends made fun of him good-naturedly, and while he enjoyed the company, it was all very overwhelming.
But Shoto had to admit, as he quickly changed into his Deku-themed pyjamas, his exhaustion was paired with disappointment.
Izuku had been at work all day.
Sure, they co-ran "Our Power" agency together, so it made sense that they had to cover for each other with holidays sometimes - especially when Izuku insisted on keeping their relationship a secret for safety reasons, despite Shoto's solid counterarguments - but it was Shoto's birthday and Izuku still hadn't come home!
He checked his phone, hoping for another notification updating him on the situation, but alas, all he could see was the text from three hours ago - when Izuku's shift was supposed to finish - saying he'd been called out.
With a sigh, Shoto finished his night-time routine and climbed into bed.
He knew he shouldn't worry. Izuku was the number one hero for a reason. He could handle anything... yet Shoto couldn't fall asleep. As selfish as he felt for wanting his partner here with him, they had a duty to Japan - he didn't expect Izuku to forgo that just to appease him - but that duty was dangerous. Three hours of overtime due to call-out was never a good sign.
His phone buzzed.
Shoto was almost embarrassed by how quickly he grabbed it, only to be dismayed to find that it was only Uraraka.
Uraraka [21:25]: Hey I know you're moping bc you thought it was Deku messaging you,which is dumb bc I'm cooler than him 😤
Uraraka [21:25]: Anyway, turn on NHK Hero news live right now
Me [21:25]: K ☹
Shoto opened the browser on his phone, snorting when a notification popped up from Uraraka, calling him a "rude bitch boy, you'll thank me later". Once he had the station up, he turned on the volume and clicked play.
The screen loaded, showing Izuku in his hero suit, smiling as he spoke to a reporter. They seemed to be talking about the villain encounter, but it wasn't hurried or frantic; it was almost leisurely. Shoto frowned.
'Okay, Hero Deku.' The reporter looked at her watch. 'You requested this interview and it is now officially nine thirty. You said you had an announcement to make?'
'Ah, yes!' A deep flush painted those freckled cheeks as Izuku rocked on his feet. 'So, as you know, Hero Shoto's birthday is today!'
He heartbeat quickened at the direct address, and he swallowed heavily.
'As one of my best friends and co-owner of our agency, we usually spend his birthday hanging out in some form, but unfortunately that wasn't possible today.' Izuku continued. His hands were fiddling with each other in front of him; he was nervous. 'So I thought I'd give him one of his presents now, now that I know he's watching this.'
His partner turned to the camera, and suddenly, his smile reached his eyes, crinkling at the corners. It was a fond smile; the kind only Shoto was privy too.
'Happy birthday, Shouchan.' His voice quivered slightly, but was laced with affection. 'I know you've wanted this for a while, but I've been too chicken to do it. That changes today, because you were right... about everything. So... to quote All Might, I am here!'
He paused, exhaling slowly. 'I am here... to tell the world that I love Todoroki Shoto! He is my partner in life, and I feel so blessed to wake up beside him. We're in a relationship and have been for a while now, and I can't wait for us to grow old together.'
Izuku grinned dopily at the camera - Shoto was sure he was making a similar face at his phone - before realising where he was.
He then coughed awkwardly. 'Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. Thank you for taking the time to listen to this announcement, but I have a boyfriend to get home to, and I'm already three hours late.'
Before anyone else could speak, emerald lightning shone as Izuku launched himself in the air; the camera focused on him flying off into the distance, like a shooting star. The reporter was gobsmacked, while her microphone picked up the cries of the excited fans who had gathered around to watch the interview in person. Meanwhile, Shoto buried his face in a pillow, hugging it close to his chest as he rolled around the bed.
It was finally out there. Everyone knew about them. He was finally able to love Izuku openly.
It was the best present.
A loud thud sounded from outside, followed by a key opening the front door. Clearly, his partner was keen to see him, and Shoto wasn't complaining. However, as soon as the door slammed shut, he heard a squawk, followed a clatter and a bang.
He shot out of bed and into the corridor, where he found Izuku sprawled out across the floor, having tripped over the shoes Shoto had left out earlier.
'You good, my love?'
'Never better.' His partner grumbled against the tatami. 'Anyway... Happy birthday, baby cakes. I hope you liked my present.'
Shoto tipped his head back and laughed.
'I loved it.'
