Am I correct in assuming this is a very wrong assertion? Well, in most of a time when I started read One Piece, I didn´t care of OP Community. With my own pace I read manga chapter by chapter and successfully avoided most of the spoilers before I reached ongoing (and dropped it now I don´t care so much about spoilers and start read manga again in that point where I stopped five years ago - and Wano is done :D ) To the point, I was horrified how many people hate Tashigi so much. She always was one of my favourite characters and I ship her with Zoro. Ok, in two cases I am able to understand why she is not popular character: 1, ZoRobin shippers- understand to their feelings, they root for their favourite couple and I feel their "pain". Still get it, it´s part of the fandom to prefer one ship to another one. 2, she is weaker fighter than the others- ok, I have some arguments (I will explain later), but I get it. Some fans have to compare everyone with everyone who holds a sword and yeah, Tashi-chan is really weaker than Zoro or Mihawk. What I don´t get it, why people hate her so much. Be honest, it seems to me that hating Tashigi is an act of misogyny. I'm not exaggerating. Tashigi is a perfect sample how it´s hard to be significant female figure in two almost 100% male domains. In OP universe there is not so much swordswomen and there is not so much higher ranked marines. In many stories there is a narrative if we see female characters among the men and she is "the best however she is a woman" and in many stories it´s explain like "be woman is something worse, but she is great"). Personally, I don´t prefer this type of narrative and gladly Tashigi is not that case.

Assuming for "for non-existent misogyny"

Ppl critisize her for assuming Zoro for nothing. However we knows that his reason why he didn´t want to fight with her it´s kinda different than she thought. But be honest, women don´t assume the men for misogyny without reason. Who knows Tashigi´s experience with discrimination because she is female? Marine´s bases are not space of understanding and tolerence overrun by unicorns. Most of her superiors are men and also most of her subordinates are men. From my own experience I know some women who are in leadership positions and every single of them has experience that they struggled with some dump male subordinate who didn´t respect them because "they are just women". She had to make many times more efforts because of her gendre so that the people around her began to respect her. To become a petty officesand later a captain. And maybe when she fought with the pirates, she was used to that they insulted and underestimated her. We don´t know. Probably, she just expected the same interection from Zoro.

Tashigi is "crybaby"

The others critisize her for her "overeacting" and that she´s weak and crybaby. It´s typical insult for women. Crying is human biological process through which, for example, sadness or frustration is expressed (for all of a people). And I seriously debt when Zoro has his defeated moment with Mihawk and cried and screamed, nobody said "oh, he is too weak, emotional crybaby". No, he is so cool, cause he is able to express human emotions and for female audince he´s more se*ier than before. For girls crying is "shame and typical female reaction", for boys it is "a courageous act in which they show their humanity". Tashigi also show her humanity. In Logue Town, in Alabasta, also in Punk Hazard Arc. She felt frustrated, helpless, betrayed by her own perception of justice. That´s the reason why she cried.

Tashigi is weak

Tashigi is different type of swords(wo)man. If we could look at it that way, there is a group of swordsmen -swordsmen´s comunity whose "members" are divided between pirates, marines and the other groups in OP Universe. Like in almost every pirate crew there is one member who is familiar with some type of swords. These swordsmen and swordswomen are belong to different crews, everyone has different mindset, different goals in their lifes, different personality. And Tashigi is also different than the others. Most of the swordsmen wants to be better and better fighters, want to reach their names into the heavens (ehm,ehm) and be more and more skilled in fight how it would be possible. And for most of them see swords just as tool for reaching their dreams. Tashigi is focusing on these "tools". She is sword geek with high sense of justice, sometimes out of the reality. She wants better world where all of the famous swords are in hands of good people and serve to good of mankind. I don´t get the fans who still compare every single character with Mihawk or Zoro. They throw away Tashigi over the board just because she is weaker than Zoro. Ehm, Idk but it´s the point of the story. Zoro made a promise to become the greatest swordsman in the world and his goal is defeat Mihawk. We saw him in every chapter/episode how he´s becoming stronger and strogner and slowly reaching his name into the heaven. We don´t see Tashigi every single day (or decade) but she is in different position. She is not pirate in the crew somewhere middle of Grand Line and she doesn´t have to face to great dangers every single day. She is captain, most of the time probably she spends in headquarters or on the marine ship where she plans and gives orders to the marines. Of course, she is also in action but with reference to the above it is as it is. And she is not bad.

She is just annoying. Poor Zoro.

For Zoro Tashigi is one of the few people in the universe who: - is not Zoro´s enemy however she is not member of Strawhats crew -and she is swordswoman and she is not rival at the same time - he avoids her in fight by his own decision (in most of cases, he just follows Luffy decision to unite with the others), but Tashigi is not little child or unarmed citizen. Kuina who is gone is big issue of Zoro´s mind and Tashigi´s appearence doesn´t make it easier but in Punk Hazard arc is significant, that Zoro already moved from the statement "Tashigi makes troubles because she is similar to Kuina" to "Tashigi makes troubles". If we miss the interactions between Zoro and female crew members, there are not many female characters with whom Zoro would interact as much as Tashigi. And, you can think that Tashigi sucks but Zoro chose to be in her company voluntarily (depends of the situation where they are stuck together). He could decide for different ways how to interact with her, but in half of the shared moments he is kind to her. In Logue town he listen her chattering about the swords like no anyone else (and it was useful), he was willing to help her, when she was attacked by two pirates in Logue Town and he handed her a glasses when she fell while the others laughed at her. In Punk Hazard, he could left her because she is Marine after all, but he didn´t. Their talks are also awkard. Of course, it doesn´t mean that they will end up together as husband and wife with bunch of children but it was Zoro´s decision to let Tashigi into his life (somehow). According to me, Zoro sees Tashigi as someone who is brave, kind, protective to those in need with strong sense of justice and great geek into a swords in the cutest way as it is possible. It´s probably hard to talk with her, because she stubborn but he never underestimated her as a swordwoman, but he knows that she has different limits than him and that´s the reason why he is ready protects her when it is needed.

i mean, i'm sure it goes without saying that henry would be extremely likely to be interested in as well as fall for someone similar to camilla. that's what he did in the book, it's canon.

i like the fact that although they're always arguing, they understand and trust each other when it comes to serious stuff. like yeah, we fight but we are not letting this affect the crew as a whole. they're just two very proud bastards who hate admitting they don't actually dislike each other that much. their whole dynamic is great in canon!!!! love to see them. i enjoy them a lot. they need to fuck already (saying this tho does not mean i ship them to an extreme extent. i just know gays when i see them).

however!!! i think my dislike towards the ship comes mainly from the fandom. because personally i enjoy them in canon and i like the content some people make of them (god knows i reblog zosan more than it looks like), but... the 90% of the content and shippers just make them so out of character they stress me tf out. i see a zosan shipper and i never know if they're the good kind or not and i start shaking with fear. and i'm a person that believes in "ship whatever tf you want bc everyone has different tastes and i'm not that crazy to fight over fictional characters and what other people like", but, y'know, bad experiences from my past idk.

they're not even in my top 10 op ships, but they exist. they're there. they're fun. they're cool, i guess. i feel very indifferent about them and if i see a cute/hot zosan thing i'll reblog it. but i don't seek content of them, y'know (unless i'm in a very sanji nsfw mood and the horniness takes over my original preferences. sometimes i just want sanji to be topped, i apologize).

but yeah, i'm very "meh" about them and the thing that makes me not really like them is the fandom, mostly. because there are some zosan shippers out there that just....................... they remind me of kiribaku shippers saying their ship is queerbait when it's very obviously NOT queerbait and claiming them to be canon when they're obviously not canon and etcetcetc. that, and the fact that a lot of people write/draw them extremely out of character. personally, for me soft zosan (i love soft zosan bc i'm a softie) could only work after a long-ass development and they'd still act like the idiots they are. that being said, nsfw zosan works every time in every universe bc, again, the sexual tension is tangible, man. and somehow people manage to do it out of character????? lmao.

people are SO obsessed with this ship bc it's easy to sexualize and easy to write because "haha boys fucking haha fighting haha" which is uhhhhhh not my thing, really. like i do love nsfw zosan but it also has to be written extremely in character and- idk i think that it's just on me.

When a few of you first asked me "hey are you okay with sharing barbie F/Os" I was like "hell yeah!" and that was I think only after the first or second time I saw the movie, and I did not expect to love this movie as much as I do, I didn't expect to become so attached to these characters because I haven't felt attached to any F/Os in a long ass time. I didn't expect to genuinely start feeling joy again. I really thought they'd be "kissed and thrown into the pile" as I like to put it... but I've started really relying on them. And ahh like you said, I had a totally fucked up experience haha :') I really don't want to be an asshole who suddenly changes my mind about sharing when I said I was fine with it though

Why I love Stizzy (or Gentlehands, if you're fancy)

Few days ago someone asked Stizzy Steddyhands and Edizzy shippers why they shipped these pairings, and I wrote the following. OP of that post never responded to the many people who wrote out thoughtful replies, and I just now saw some hateful vitrol someone was sent for shipping stizzy, so let me share with you all what i wrote on why I love stizzy:

I have to start by pointing out people will start shipping things for different reasons. Shipping is always going to be a different strokes situation, we all interpret things differently and want different things from fiction. i can explain my own tastes, but there's no guarantee i can get you to... well, get it. Like I can wax poetic about how much i love garlic, but if i'm talking to someone who hates the taste of garlic what i say isn't going to change how garlic tastes, y'know? We're tasting the same garlic with different tongues.

So for me the foundation on which most of my ships are built is humor. If i find their dynamic (or the idea of their dynamic in the case of two separate ships of characters who have never interacted in their canons) funny, i'm more likely to start shipping it, and then i'll potentially get very obsessive and read far too into it (see: icon.) Now for me, stizzy (or gentlehands if you're fancy) still exists mostly in a place of humor, which makes sense with canon because this is a comedy show. I've gotten intense about it in the sense that I've read into the way the show has depicted their interactions and i think they're sexually charged.

if you're looking at it from a certain angle, it's pretty easy to read Izzy and Stede as two guys who are horny for each other and mad about it. I made a whole post about Izzy having a reluctant crush on Stede, and then another whole post about Stede being horny on sight for Izzy, and then I made a whole* ass porn fic that was just a not-so-cleverly disguised meta on the previously mentioned Izzy-has-a-crush-on-Stede reading.

*ok technically 1/3rd ass porn fic because i've only posted the first of three chapters, and, look, i swear i've been meaning to update, but then i got really distracted by... *glances at icon* sorry DX (UPDATE: I am going to post chapter 2 on January 31st or so fucking help me.)

To summarize/build on the links: there was a lot of sexual tension in Izzy and Stede's first encounter. If we're working with the stabbing=sex metaphor we can read it as Stede sticking his dick in Izzy's face and making him submit. Stede has been established to be obsessed with pirates, and Izzy is the first cool pirate in charge of things we see Stede encounter, and Stede is so fucking hype about how it went that it helps him get over killing the first badminton twin (at least until it gets brought up again.)

And from then on the way Stede acts towards Izzy is far more aggressive than he treats any other character, even though the aggression right out of the gate at Jackie's bar is frankly undeserved. I think the aggression is Stede's misplaced arousal that he is not yet able to recognize (honestly if stizzy became canon it could be a matter of Ed undid Stede's obliviousness to his romantic love for men, and Izzy undoes Stede's obliviousness to his sexual desire for men.) Stede's an improv guy and he's unintentionally doing a "yes, and" flirtation with Izzy and matching Izzy's "badass pirate" energy because he finds it sexy.

Meanwhile Izzy can be read as pretty submissive, and in that first encounter Stede sticks a knife in his face and makes him submit to his demands. Like at the end of their first interaction Izzy doesn't even look mad (considering the anger we've seen from Izzy in the following episodes) he almost looks a little amused. Then Izzy tells Stede "this isn't over" and Stede responds "good because i kind of enjoyed it." like they're planning a second date or some shit! We don't see Izzy get truly annoyed at Stede until Ed shows interest in him. I think Izzy thought of Stede as a hot one off adversary he was gonna [REDACTED] while thinking about that night and then he wakes up the next morning with post-nut clarity and new orders to go find Stede and bring him to Blackbeard. Then suddenly Izzy is pretty pissy about Stede Bonnet.

As for how i envision them in the show's future... i mean this is fanon content and again, see: icon, i very much do not ship things solely on their strong basis in canon. i start shipping things based on funny vibes and then work backwards from there. like, for 18 years now i've shipped two characters whose closest interaction was that they stood next to each other for the duration of a single chapter. I don't need to think a ship would work in canon for that ship to work for me.

Also how close a ship will get to being canon is just not the metric anyone should use to measure how much they enjoy a ship. cautionary tale: as a tween i experienced way too much of the ATLA shipping wars and the way people would harass others over which ship was gonna be canon. my major takeaway from that was that that was a miserable way to ship, and that the "victory" of your ship being canon and theirs not being canon is not rewarding when the only reason you shipped that ship was because you thought it was going to be canon endgame. You will be much happier if you ship something because you like the dynamics of the ship and the experience of shipping it rather than if you like a ship because it is or you think it is going to be the endgame ship.

all that being said, i do actually think stizzy could totally happen in canon, because like i said: stizzy is funny and this is a comedy show. they already have the foundation that can easily be read as horny-for-the-other-and-hates-him-about-it. at one point i literally joked that i wanted them to become canon by getting into a fistfight that turns into a make-out that turns back into a fistfight and then they never speak of it. honestly it'd be fucking hilarious. But also considering Izzy got straight up maimed at the end of the last season, a more serious/genuine romance does not seem impossible, just highly unlikely.

For fun things that make me enjoy this ship: here is an audio post of the moment where Stede whispers "because i kind of enjoyed it" at Izzy after their initial meeting. Here's Stede seeing Izzy for the first time. I've described Izzy as being a "Helga Pataki type" about Stede and made a whole meme image series about it. There's Con O'Neil saying that Izzy thought Stede looked really good at the end of his sword (bonus! i asked that question at eccc! <-braggart.) Also you can read the curtain scene as Izzy being Stede's muse. There's something to be said about the framing of this shot. This gifset of Izzy looking at Stede (2nd gif and the last 2 gifs especially, wow.) Additionally, while I'm not huge enough on ed/izzy and steddyhands to write about it like i did for stizzy, i do think there's something to be said (that i did already say) about how Ed seemed pretty obsessed with Stede before ever even meeting him simply based on Izzy's description of him, and how he "bested [Izzy] at swordplay" and like... guys is it normal to fall in love with someone you've never met because they made your first mate submit in a fight?? is that a normal, nonsexual, way to think about your first mate?

I asked in a poll recently when you thought Jim and Yam started dating, and the majority thought around season 3. I think so, too.

And after growing up with all of these dcla "su historia" videos (Leonetta su historia my beloved) I am... not gonna make a video for Jam because I am very lazy (but I hope to one day make a crack-like video with just moments from them, or just an SL "gay moments" in general). But what I am gonna do is a bit of a ~three part analysis~ where each part covers one season. Why? Because I feel like it.

Remember though, that this is my personal takes. I know very well there's other takes on the characters out there... and my takes may not always match with your takes. Especially if you're a canon Jim and Yam shipper - I am, as stated by the obvious, not. I will go from non-canon takes, which means I'll read in the scenes in the "subtext" and not particularly always how "canon meant it". This does not mean I am "not aware" how the scenes were "supposed" to be interpreted - I am just simply interpreting them the way that personally fits with my headcanons. But even if you're a Jam truther, some takes you still might not agree with, idk. Again, we all have different takes on the characters. I know I don't have to explain this, but just in case ;)

So, without further ado, it is time for part 1:

The Love Story of Jim and Yam

Part 1: Comphet, friendship songs and unknowing crushes

We start off in episode 2, where we are first introduced to the girls. They have seemingly spent much of their summer vacation together. Wakeboarding, surfing, done a lot of water activities in general for some reason (help did they go to Cielo Grande over the summer or?? /j). It's implied that they at least have spent a lot of time together, possibly been seeing each other almost every day. So even if they were close before, they have really gotten close now.

We find out that they have a sort of odd beef with Ramiro. Whatever went down with them before the show, we can only speculate. My own headcanon is that they got to know him in middle school - Ramiro himself always wanted to be cool and thought that he could impress the girls who were a year younger than him. They instead just got mad at him and found him annoying, which only encouraged him to continue. When he graduated from middle school, they felt relief, they weren't gonna see him again. But then they started Blake and, oops, he's a student there too! And then they went to check out Jam and Roller - oopsie, he's there too! He's everywhere, they can't escape him! So, well, they started this unwritten competition against him to always be better, and Ramiro enjoyed the heck out of it.

Now, the girls have always heard that "love always starts with bickering" and people have joked that "oh, but you must actually love Ramiro, I bet you even have crushes on him", "no, I think he likes you, that's why he's acting like that" - you know, stuff people often say when a boy and a girl are arguing. Hearing people say that, it took a toll especially on Yam. She did not want to even hear that Ramiro could possibly like her. The thought made her very uncomfortable and made her have a harsher approach if he even hinted at liking her.

That is not the look of "omg he likes me? <3" it's the look of "please don't say you're in love with me, stop being that preferably yesterday". She has always been quite honest with her feelings, saying what she thinks even if it sounds a bit harsh, and she wants to make it as clear as possible to Ramiro that she does not like him like that.

Yam has always known that she is a lesbian, or have at the very least discovered it quite recently about herself. But at this point in the show, it's not that she refuses to acknowledge it, it's more that she is stuck in the heteronormative society that is Disney Channel Writing her group of friends. This also makes her doubt herself at times - "what if i'm not a lesbian and just fooling myself?" - which is something we'll get into. One thing she does feel though, is that Jim is a lesbian too. Yam has, in my headcanon and opinion, the best gaydar out of everyone. She knows that a lot of her friends aren't straight, but they have not come to terms with it yet. She also can figure out if someone is not queer. A joking example I did was this. She can't say it to them, they have to discover it on their own, but she is happy to help them on the way. Especially help Jim on the way.

As we've established, Yam does not just see Jim as her best friend, but she's also very much in love with her. But I don't think she just knows it right away, as you might expect her to. She just... gradually gets there. I do think that during the summer vacation before the show, a small crush started to sparkle inside of her, but she did not think as much about it at the time. Then, as the school year started, she started realizing it more and more.

The first hint of this I would say when Yam found out Jim was skating with Nico. She acted like Jim had gone behind her back and she appeared quite... jealous over it. I cannot interpret this in any other way than Yam wanting to skate with Jim herself. I don't know if it was a rule they had to skate boy-girl in that competition, but I did watch those eps not TOO long ago, and I really do not recall that was a rule. If it was... I am sorry that I will get the info all wrong now. But nonetheless, the way she acts just feels like the most logical explanation would be that she wanted to skate with Jim herself.

The way she instantly gets jealous when Jim expresses interest in Nico or Ramiro (especially Ramiro). Of course, this is also a mix of her not understanding what people see in the "annoying boy Ramiro", and her just wanting Jim to realize she's a lesbian without telling her she's a lesbian directly... but I also think Yam wants Jim to think of her like that.

But, Yam also just wants the best for Jim. So, after a while, she decides to help her out on these boy adventures, no matter how silly she thinks they are. She sees it as a bit of an experiment - even if she's fairly sure she's a lesbian, with all of the heteronormative shit around her, she's at times doubting. Also, "she's never been with a boy so maybe try it out?" (we'll get more of this later). But the flirting ways are very much not from experience but rather what Yam (and Jim) thinks boys like. And they are very picky with them too. Hmm...

Off topic but Yam said this in a scene while they were discussing romance while wiggling her eyebrows after every other word. I just needed to say this because I don't know where to put it otherwise.

I think when Yam fully realizes her crush on Jim is here:

She got so excited over Jim she hugged Ramiro. And this part after really makes me convinced she just realized her feelings.

"Oh, wait... okay... let's deal with this later."

Yam continues to also be quite uncomfortable when boys are romantic towards her during the season. To not waste too many pics due to tumblr's picture limit, here is another moment of her gay panicking. Also this moment. If she didn't like boys before she certainly does not now.

Now, Jim... sweet Jim. Jimmygirl is in a deep field of comphet. She just has not come to the terms that she even could be a lesbian - she just knows that she wants a relationship. She wants to feel "normal". The only thing is that she sort of... is picking boys to be in love with instead of actually being in love with them.

This full scene is essentially a case of Yam trying to make sense of Jim's comphet behavior btw. Anyway - Jim here thinks Yam should be in love with someone, so "why not just pick Nico?", as if, you know, you can just pick whoever you like.

Also... just this little part here:

Anyway, Jim's comphet really shines through with Nico. You could think it's just a "young girl crushing on an older boy and being nervous about it", but... to me, there's something more. Especially when Jim, immediately after she officially starts dating Nico, says this:

The show never really explicitly says what this weird feeling means. But considering events in S2, which I'll get to when we come there, I'd say this is the first step of Jim realizing that dating men is just not really her thing... though, she has a long way to go. Right now, she's still in the moment of wanting a boyfriend, liking the idea of a boyfriend, so she still does things that would get his attention (like having a fake boyfriend at Ámbar's party, etc)

Also, Jim is just as obsessed with Yam as Yam is of her. One example of this is when Yam was mad at her ONE (1) time.

It's literally to the point where she won't move until Yam talks to her. She cannot handle Yam being mad at her.

And do we even have to discuss what Yam did when Jim was mad at her? That is one scene I know we have discussed a LOT. Girl was serenading her a LOVE SONG. Also, Yam's face when Tamara gal pals them is hilarious.

The girls, besides being obessed with each other, are absolutely in love with Felicity. Especially Jim. Like, Jim is... she just needs to hear Felicity's name and she comes dashing like a bullet. Also, this is her face when she saw Felicity perform:

Same, Ramiro.

Speaking of Ramiro! How is Yamiro going in to all of this? "If Yam is such a lesbian, why does she date Ramiro?" You could actually argue that the girls may be bi/pan. I have a lot of characters I headcanon as bi/pan, but Yam is not one of them for me.

As mentioned, the comphet around her makes her, too, fall victim of it. And she has been hearing for so long that "but Ramiro likes you", "Come on, admit you do like him a little!", "Just give him a chance, ok?". And Yam has fought and fought all season, and eventually... she feels, alright, let's get over my stubbornness... and she realized Ramiro is actually an ok guy when he wants to be. And people more or less push her to pursue a relationship with him. However... as soon as they start dating, she argues with him constantly. There is not a single scene I recall where they didn't bicker about something during their S1 dating period. Yam, like Jim, feels like something is off, but she feels it much stronger. She realizes, what she wants is just to be friends with Ramiro, not more. She doesn't like him that way. She doesn't like boys that way - who is she fooling? And it's almost like she waits for an opportunity to break up with him, which comes at the end of the season when he and Jim is about to leave Jam and Roller. When they come back, Yam is SO happy for Jim and forgives her immediately.

But with Ramiro...

Ramiro is confused and he wonders why they can't be back together. And in that scene, it really feels like Yam is trying to come out to him and he just does not get it. It's a long scene, so I just link it here.

Yam is just very unsure about dating Ramiro. If you're wondering why she went back to him at the end of season 2? Well, I'll talk about that when I get there, but it's a bit of a relapse and kind of, again, people pushing her towards him (I just gotta say, people do argue a lot about who pushed who to date who, but I personally feel like Yam got pushed a lot to date Ramiro. Which is something that will play into her behavior towards him in season 3).

Another thing - Jim and Yam really look up to Mora. We're much in agreement that Mora is a lesbian and dating Ana, that's just a fact. I think that she was someone Yam especially felt a kind of a kinship with. Mora understood her, she helped her with her designs, she was an adult who just got her. Mora was kind of a gay mentor for her. For both of the girls. She also made them realize that you don't have to live with a man and get children in a normative life. There's other ways to live your life. I think she was what they needed, much more than just a designer to look up to.

So where does Jim and Yam at the end of the season? Well, their final scene together is this one, where they sneak off behind the lockers. They more or less summarize their whole plot this season with this:

They leave the season as they started - as very close besties. But, after the events that occured, and discoveries that they made about themselves, they might be more.

During the upcoming year in season 2, they have yet to start dating, but this time they are more aware about their feelings for each other. Of course, there is a million things more to say about season 1. With 80 episodes, there is neverending content and we'd be here practically all day and night. So for now, I'll end this.

no listen. fine. okay. i get it. it's like the most popular mc ship. maybe the most popular ship in general. but. can y'all stop acting like it's canon at least for a second. it's one thing when you just go "oh they're cute and i think it's possible for them to become canon!" but it's a completely different thing when you go "THIS SHIP IS OBVIOUSLY CANON AND IT WAS WRITTEN TO BE CANON AND ACTUALLY THIS WHOLE GAME IS ABOUT THEM". and i say that as someone who actually liked this ship when i first got into the game but then i started to realize that i enjoy other ships much more and listen to each their own but i genuinely hate how people make such a big deal out of EVERY SINGLE INTERACTION. yes call me a hypocrite because i act the same when it comes to my ships but at least i do it either with my friends or alone and i'm not actually trying to make other people feel bad about their ships or something. sure, i want to believe that most shippers don't have a "goal" like that, but sometimes.. it really does feel like a lot of those posts are just there to say "btw these two are canon and i won't let you forget it". and like?? so many people like to just make things up to make it seem like it really is the superior ship like remember how we talked about that one bday vignette line and i went through all the bday vignettes to show that mc saying malleus looked good in that outfit wasn't special and it wasn't them being especially nice to him and they complimented other guys too but some people went "SEE THIS IS PROOF THAT THEY'RE CANON". like sure, whatever, do what you want, but idk?? maybe don't claim that mc is giving him "special treatment" or something when it's not the case.

milgram: i don't think this fandom talks that much about ships, but even when some people do, i don't really mind? like idk i haven't really seen any people like that yet so yeah.

12. "the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them"

twst: *GRABS THE MIC* ONE DAY I WILL WRITE AN ESSAY ABOUT WHY ROLLO UNIRONICALLY HAS MORE PERSONALITY THAN SOME "MAIN" CHARACTERS. listen. listen maybe it's just because i'm so tired of nrc characters that i need someone new. maybe. but the masquerade event really felt like a breath of fresh air and i will never shut up about it unless they make an event that is just as interesting. and twst has a lot of good events! ngl i actually kinda enjoy event stories more than the main story! but idk something about the masquerade is just. so. like they really gave us a whole new character (who is also voiced by hiroshi kamiya but also gets like two-three voicelines not counting the battle voicelines.), a whole new school, a whole new city, so much new lore, so much new worldbuilding-related stuff AND THEN JUST MOVED ON. I'M MANIFESTING PART 2 SO HARD. I WILL LITERALLY COME BACK TO WRITING FOR TWST JUST TO WRITE IT MYSELF IF WE DON'T GET ONE. (i'll be kinda ok with it if they make a halloween event that is just as fun but still..) but okay okay let me just. explain why i find this guy so interesting.

yes i also made fun of his design at first but now he's literally one of my fav characters to draw and not even bc i like him as a character. yes his outfit is extremely detailed and hard to draw but something about drawing it is so satisfying! also idk i love how tired and 😐 he looks bc dude same!! (i still don't know if he has dark circles or he wears eyeliner btw. i think he clearly has eyeliner in the trailer but in the actual game it's more like dark circles??)

i'm biased yes but the way he smiles is cute. like idk i think his smile is very soft :)

the fact that this guy is doing all the work, like taking care of the belltower, the gargoyles, etc, makes me cry every day. again, he really is doing more than some dorm leaders. and no, don't go "but (character name) did this thing once", like i'm pretty sure rollo does all those things every day.

listen. i'm gonna say it. when he was like "we should get rid of magic", i had that "the villain is kinda right" moment. because i'm sorry but twst is not really doing a great job at making us (or at least me personally) believe that magic can be good. like idk man. of course he should've done it differently, but i kinda think he was onto something. (wait oh no this sounds like a good fic idea-) i usually never agree with villains like that, but in this case.. idk, with all the overblots, people using their magic to do questionable things or to just be mean, etc..

have you seen me talk about T H E S C E N E on the server. wanna see me do that again. okay. AGAIN SAY WHAT YOU WANT. SAY THAT HE WAS GOING TO USE MC FOR SOMETHING. SAY THAT HE JUST HATES MAGIC USERS (which he does but that's not the point rn). BUT THAT ONE SCENE WHEN HE MEETS YUU SHOWS THAT HE'S ONE OF THE FEW CHARACTERS WHO ACTUALLY WENT "hey isn't that too much work for someone who's magicless" AND THAT'S ALREADY SOMETHING. i can say more but that will sound like i'm being biased (and i already sound like that) so i won't. NO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND I WANT ROLLO AND MC TO INTERACT AGAIN IN PART 2 SO BADLY. "oh yuu will just hate him" guess what. i've never said that i want their relationship to be all cute and soft. enemies to lovers IS GREAT.

a reminder that malleus himself acknowledged that this guy's magic is really strong and that he's very talented. HE SOMEHOW BROUGHT BACK THE FLOWERS THAT WENT EXTINCT. (again a good fic idea-)

i can say something about the nrc characters too but tbh all of them have a fanbase so i don't think i can say much. i could say something about the rsa characters and i love them but i'm gonna be honest.. they really should give us more rsa content. give me a whole rsa event. do it cowards.

milgram: again, all characters have their fans, so i can't say that anyone there is unpopular, but i still have some things to say. tbh i'm not.. a fan of how, like, some (or even most) people who like amane just like her because "well she's a cute child!! therefore she's pure and innocent and has never done anything wrong!!" yes this is coming from an inno voter and her biggest apologist and at first i really did like her bc she seemed cute, but after i listened to her vd, i ended up liking her even more because it's like.. idk, something about her behavior is so accurate. like, yes, she's a victim. yes, she's a child who was brainwashed and manipulated. but that doesn't mean she will go "oh noooo help me pleaseeeee :(" or anything, no, she will go "no, my god is always right and i've also never done anything wrong so i think you know what to vote me" AND THAT'S SO COOL. I LIKE CHARACTERS LIKE THAT I LIKE CHARACTERS WHO CLEARLY WENT THROUGH A LOT BUT THEY'RE NOT BEING EXACTLY SYMPATHETIC. and it makes me so sad to see some people ignoring those traits and turning her into a completely different character. thankfully i haven't seen that many people do that, but still, i remember watching her vd and seeing some people go "oh no i thought she was all cute but she's actually so annoying". like wow people really will stan any cute child character until they find out that child character has a personality and they're not as perfect as they imagined them to be. and that sucks. but also yeah i wish i could see more content with her! she definitely has her fans, but still..

also i have some things to say about yuno: she's definitely very popular, but i'm not a fan of the fact that some people like.. idk, it seems like some people like her just bc "oh well she confessed that her "crime" is abortion, soooo she's innocent and she's better than most characters there" like SHE'S SUCH A DEEP CHARACTER I CAN TALK ABOUT HER FOR HOURS. I LOVE HER NOT JUST BC OF HER PERSONALITY OR HER PINK AESTHETIC I ACTUALLY RELATE TO HER A LOT AND. twst: i'm gonna say it. main story is. kinda boring. like i couldn't care less about the updates or new chapters or anything, again, i'm more interested in the events. i get it, the whole point of the main story is overblots and the overblot gang's backstories, but tbh i got tired of it after like chapter 4. i get it, it's literally the main story, of course people will talk about it, but i just.. can't make myself care about it.

milgram: THIS ONE ACTUALLY MADE ME THINK BECAUSE.. tbh nothing about it feels overhyped to me, at least right now? like i feel like the whole project is almost based on this feeling like "what's gonna happen next" or "what should i do" or "how should i react to this". so yeah again i don't think i have anything to say AGAIN I'M SORRY JDFKSLDLD. i could talk about the novels, but also.. not that many people know about the novels or are interested in them, so yeah, i definitely can't say they're overhyped. i could say how i'm not really that interested in the ninth and tenth mvs and the purge march is the only mv that i'm excited for rn, but that's just, again, me being biased and i definitely wouldn't say those mvs are overhyped. i also really want to see them! i just don't care about those characters as much.

Riddle x Kalim Headcannons & Fun Scenarios

Dancing, Dancing Dancing:

I can see one thing both of them love to do is dance together. We know Kalim knows a lotta styles of dance and Riddle knows how to do the waltz. So I can see when Riddle isn't busy, or if Kalim thinks riddle needs a break, they'll simply dance the day away having fun letting their worries ebb away with each twirl and step the other takes. Well that is before Kalim swings the dance in a whole other direction without warning.

Cater being the shipper friend:

With those two being good friends of our favorite magicam boy I can see Cater being thrilled at the two being a couple. Not just for the aesthetic but because also because they just look great together, picking up for what the other lacks, and

in turn helping them get better at what they need to work on. Plus you know cater will be taking pictures of the pictures of the two, starting two hashtags in the process. Ridkali and Royal court(basically since Kalim reminds him of a sultan and Riddle reminds him of a queen its like a royal courtship)

Nickname Headcannon:

Kalim to Riddle: Ruby(cause i can see Kalim seeing riddle like a prescious ruby he could never part with. A true treasure for him in a way

Riddle to Kalim: My Rose (I see this one coming from how red kalim's eyes are reminding riddle of a scarlet rose. A pure love without any thorns to wound.)

Ridding lessons:

Unless we learn Kalim was taught how to ride a horse, I can see Riddle repaying Kalim whenever he gives him a flying carpet ride may take Kalim to ride vorpal with him. Enjoying Kalim being happy alongside him I can see the queen wanting to show off hus hard earned skill to his rose. And may even offer to teach Kalim how to ride one himself

Pure love:

Knowing Kalim I can see how much he's into PDA being a large thing fir riddle to adjust to. Heck even receiving a constant string of love and affection may take some getting used to, but i do think besides chastising kalim at times, riddle would enjoy it as well. It's a nice change of pace for him. Now if only kalim wouldn't do so in public he'd be even more happy for it.

Eng Twst translation opinions

Alrighty, I think after seeing this I think we can all breath a sigh of relief at the quality of the translations. From the snippet at 12:28-15:27 everything seems like its a pretty good translation.

But now this puts my already high respect to our fan translators on an even higher tier. Because from what little i remember from seeing translations of the prologue this was a near one to one translation of that scene minus a few additions here and there.

Which again I cannot give enough props to our translators.

So yeah, thankfully Disney didn't go cheap on us so far.

Now I'm just picturing after the feast you just see Riddle either sitting besides kalim, or at least hold his waist as they both soar above the clouds looking at a jewelry filled sky of stars on a cool desert night. As for once in riddle's case, his worries of being a dorm leader crawl to the back of his mind as he's seen a whole new world.

Twisted Wonderland: Dorm leaders in Genshin Impact Au

This is a ramble about how I can imagine and see the twst Housewardens/Dorm Leaders if they were in genshin. Hope y'all like my ideas, so anyway on with the show!

🌹Riddle Rosehearts:

The rule bound rose of the Lawrence clan~

For our prescious strawberry I can imagine Riddle being another poor child who was born into the Lawrence clan. A to be redeemer of the clan's fall from power, trained to harness his vision to strike back against the Knights of Mondstadt. An ever useful obedient child who has only grown up hearing the rules and misguided arrogance of elder clan members. Forcing him to be their perfect rose, a better heir than Eula could ever be. Especially after she left her family behind, Riddle's lessons and pressure was doubled from then on. But even as he suffered he gave no objection, these were the rules, and he was a Lawrence above all else and had to uphold their "honor."

As for his relationship with Eula, there is an edge of rivalry between the two mixed with an air of empathy. Riddle sometimes looks to Eula with envy at being so free in his eyes, but a part of him also deems it as foolish and a mockery of the clan. But even if he's so bound up in his lessons, maybe all the withered rose needs is a little push to finally grow free from those who would use him as no more than a tool.

Twst English release opinions

Alright then, after playing twst eng for two days I gotta say, I love it. Like no joke I love this game and it's dragging me even deeper into twst again! But if y'all wanna see my opinion on the changes in translation and localization it's this.

Overall good, but tried too hard sometimes

Even as someone who loves the uniqueness i do have like a couple

Trey's unique magic/signature spell name change, it just felt unnecessary but even with what they changed it too I don't hate it cause it's still a cool name either way.

Hornton, I don't hate it at all but I feel it could've been better as well. But I can also understand why they'd be less likely to do a direct translation as well. Cause horn/horny can be interpreted as well sexual themes

Other than that it's not that bad, and not nearly as bad as I've seen older fans act.

Like guys. I love the community but y'all are out of pocket for this. You're being overdramatic at worst and are giving small moments to other fans which makes the problem even worse because without seeing the rest of the product people will think it's 4kids even though most of the basic translations are good.

Honestly this will be my only time saying this(i hope) but I wouldn't say the Japanese version is the "true" version of the story because from what I've seen everything has its same feeling and vibe as to its original form. If you came into English twst you will still get hit by the emotional moments and will still enjoy yourself.

All in all, can you guys stop treating this like it's a plague of the earth, let's be civil and if we really have a problem just put your concerns to the devs as best you can. Hopefully they'll listen, but fir now I'm staying out if the twisted wonderland tag fir my own enjoyment.

Also in the case, Dawn started with Chloe before stretching out to Goh and finally, in a way, ending with Ash. Same could happened with Gary)

(Part 2) (Again, we're not promised anything, it'd just be strange for Ash and Gary to not have one personal moment together before Journeys ends. It might be just me, but I wonder if him jumping from Ash looking over his shoulder and "Everything I did was for my own sake" is going to come back later) It's okay, I know you were. xD Not much of a co/mashipper either, that's mainly due to their interactions being mostly battle-related and not much else.

(Part 3) (And I say this as someone who likes seeing characters with contrasting personalities interact. I'm also glad the shippers got their fill though; Journeys has been giving a lot of fuel to multiple ships) Heh, I know show writers' are generally wary of fans figuring out stuff early [or having to choose whenever or not respond to popular fanon and memes], but twists don't 'work' if they're meant to act more like a diss to the audience than a compelling narrative.

(Part 4) (Hmm, it's kinda hard to see in the preview, but it looks Alain may have won the first KO of the match. I'm wondering if some of these are going to end with cliffhangers. We're technically being left on one now with that upcoming 2-week break)

Yeah. It's such a shame so many lives are still being cut short by it, even if there's been enough progress that some survive it.

But anyway.

Yeah, I'm optimistic that there's still a good chance there'll be something. The potential is definitely there.

Cool cool. I'm really glad that despite what a divisive series Journeys has been, it's made a lot of different people happy--including fans of a variety of ships.

Yeah that's A Whole Thing. Thankfully it's mostly something I hear about happening with other fandoms, and when my stuff gets contradicted by canon it's just. Random trivial stuff. I never expected "Gary sneezes like a kitten" to get contradicted because I never expected him to have a canon sneeze but then JN068 happened. (I have kept the headcanon though because I think it's funnier.)

Good for him! That's something. Should be interesting to see how all that plays out after the two-week break!
