One of the books I've really enjoyed lately is Far Seer by Robert J Sawyer. Robert is a really cool guy! I actually shared this with him and got some kind words in return.
If you're looking for something new to read or you're a Sci-Fi or Dinosaur fan in general, I highly recommend his series The Quintaglio Ascension Trilogy.
Sal-Afsan here is the main character of the first book.

Dybo gives off aroace vibes
He still didn't have children when Afsan, 2 kilodays older than he is, (sort of) already had grandchildren
And it seems that he never had a love interest
By the way, Afsan and Novato give off sapiosexual vibes

GANGUBAI: ANALYSIS
Main Characters:
Gangubai: The protagonist
Ramnik Lal: Her fraudulent husband
Rahim Lala: Her ally and "brother"
Kamli: Her best friend
Afsan: Her love interest
Raziabai: Her rival
Amin Faizl: The journalist
Heterotopias:
The brothel
Personal chamber
The hospital
The theatre
The school
The police station
Childhood home
The car
Analysis:
The film starts with Gangu’s husband, Ramnik telling Gangu that she was selected for audition, but in reality, she was actually being sold to a brothel for 500rs. At first, she’s furious and tries all ways to escape, but at one point when escape is impossible, she accepts the drastic reality and starts working in the brothel.
Gangubai comes across horrible men, supportive friends and more significantly, her love interest, Afsan, who she sacrifices to save another young girls life. Her ultimate goal was to rule the area, so she follows all the rules of the brothel and climbs her way up the ladder, where she basically takes over the brothel.
Then, she has to face her rival Raziabai, who was president of the town. She faces trials and disputes later on, but she doesn’t ever give up.
Finally, she ends up winning her case of 'normalizing prostitution being a real job' and turns president, after which she leads the town towards betterment.
Cinematography:
The film uses different camera angles to show the visuals, story and mood. Wide shots capture the busy streets of Kamathipura, while close-ups focus on characters' emotions, making scenes more intimate.
Colors are carefully chosen to match the time period and mood. Warm colors inside the brothel create intimacy, while outdoor scenes show a mix of vibrant and washed out colors, reflecting Mumbai's diversity.
Lighting sets the scene's mood. Soft lighting is used for intimate moments, while harsh lighting adds tension or highlights harsh realities.
The camera moves dynamically to follow characters or remains still to convey emotions and depth.
Attention to detail in set design, costumes, and props makes the film visually authentic, immersing viewers in the 1960s Mumbai setting.

Badal gaya hai waqt, badal gaya hai yaar purane,
bichad gaye hai dost, sab nikal pade hai apne hisse ki daulat kamane,
ab na khawab'o ki baatein hoti hai, na shikayat mehboob ki,
bas muskura dete hai kisi raah-guzar pe milkar,
yehi hai sab ki taqdeer, yehi hai sab ki afsane..
