2:14pm

It was a Friday afternoon and I was sweeping in the living room when the front door opened, Ella and Mailo both walked in but Ella slammed the front door shut, dropped her back pack and ran upstairs, not giving me a word to speak.

I look at Mailo as i turn the vacuum off, “What’s wrong with your sister?” I ask him.

Mailo shrugs, “How should i know? She didn’t talk the whole bus ride home!” Mailo says, kicking his shoes off and walking to the kitchen to get a snack.

I furrowed my eyebrows, “I thought you guys don’t sit near each other because you both needed ‘space away from each other’?” Making quotation marks with my fingers.

“We don’t, but she didn’t talk to anyone! Not even her friends.” Mailo said, coming back into the living room with a bag of chips.

“Seriously dude? I just spent the whole day cleaning.” I pointed out.

Mailo looks at me then back down to his chips, “I’ll be neat.” He says, grabbing the remote and turning the TV on.

“You say that ev-” I cut myself off and shook my head, “Okay, i’m done cleaning anyway, i have to go check on your sister.” I sighed before starting to wrap up the vacuum wire.

“Have any idea why she’s upset at least?” I pleaded.

Mailo shrugged, “Probably about a boy.”

My eyes widened, “How old am i getting?” I whispered to myself.

“Pretty old, mom.” Mailo interrupted.

“Be quiet and eat your chips.” I scoffed walking upstairs, hearing Mailo laugh at his own joke.

I get to Ella’s room door and knock on it softly before opening it.

I see Estrella laying on her bed, on her side scrolling on her phone.

I walk in before shutting the door behind me.

“Hey, El. How was school, love?” I asked her, coming to sit on the bed next to her.

She didn’t answer me, staying silent.

I let out a sigh, reaching over and stroking her hair. “Obviously not good.” I said quietly.

“Wanna talk about it?” I suggested.

She shook her head no.

“Do you..want a hug?” I offered.

She shakes her head no with no reaction.

“Okay, well we are gonna have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner tonight. I know you like that..” I said softly.

Estrella then turned off her phone, her back still facing me as she seemed to just lay on her side staring at the wall.

I leaned down and kissed her forehead, rubbing her side before getting up and leaving the room.

I walk downstairs, “Mailo, you’re making a mess!” I scoffed at the 11 year old boy as the chip crumbs scattered around my couch.

Estrella POV

My mom had just left my room and i began to cry.

Boys were talking about me at school today and not in a flattering way, it was so humiliating.

And then a boy i thought liked me said nevermind and made everyone laugh at me.

It hurt so bad, and i yelled at him in the lunch room, a couple teachers heard it but they never reported it to the office.

I called him a loser and a weirdo and a wanna be popular kid, it was well deserved.

He had it coming for him.

8:09pm

I was washing the dishes after dinner. Ella didn’t come down to eat and now i was getting worried.

Mailo was playing a video game on the TV, yelling and screaming every time he died.

I hear the front door open and close before Mailo yells, “Hi dad!” Followed by a “Hey buddy,” From Matt.

I dry my hands and walk to the living room, leaning against the wall.

I point at Matt, “You, come here.” I make the come here motion with my finger.

Matts eyebrows furrow before he comes over to me, kissing my lips quickly.

“I missed you.” He whispered.

“Yeah, i’m gonna go bother Ella you guys are disgusting.” Mailo gags.

“Don’t you dare go bother your sister, Mailo.” I threaten.

“I’m kidding, i’m going to my room, Jeez. She definitely got her mean-ness from you.” Mailo put his hands up in surrender.

“Mailo!” I yell.

“I’m going!” He yells back.

Matt lets out a laugh before i slap his chest. “Don’t encourage that.” I shake my head, letting out a laugh myself.

“Okay, i need to talk to you.” I say seriously, Matt nods and puts on a look which tells me he’s listening.

“Somethings wrong with Ella.” I say in a hushed tone.

“Wrong? What is she crazy or something?” Matt jokes, but when i give him a look telling him it’s not funny he changes his expression.

“She came home, threw her bag on the floor, didn’t say anything, slammed the door shut and ran upstairs, she also didn’t come down and eat dinner,” I tell him.

Matts eyebrows furrow, “I thought you were making spaghetti? That’s her favorite.”

I nod, “I did and it is.”

Matt sighs, “Did you try to talk to her?”

I roll my eyes, “What kind of mother would i be if i didn’t?” I shake my head, “I think you should talk to her, it’ll mean a lot coming from her dad.”

Matt looks at me, “Sure.”

I smile and put up a thumbs up as Matt starts to walk away. “Great. It’s about a boy by the way.” I mumble.

Matt pauses in his tracks and turns around, “It’s about a what?” He scoffs.

I sigh, “Matt, please, she’s 13 she’s obviously going to have boy problems.” I reasoned.

Matt shook his head and put his finger up, “Yeah, but i can’t. She’s my baby girl, i can’t think about her having a boyfriend yet!” He tells me, sighing as he put his hands on my waist.

“Please…” I drag out, wrapping my arms around his neck.

Matt rolled his eyes and let out a groan, “I hate you so much.” He joked, looking down at me.

“Sure you do, now go.” I booped his nose before pushing him to walk upstairs.

He looked at me before sighing, finally walking upstairs.

3rd Person POV

Matt walked upstairs to his daughter’s room, taking a deep breath as he prepared himself for this talk.

He knocked on the door softly, but after getting no reply he slowly turned the knob, walking in.

He spots his daughter laying on her bed, her lamp that sat nicely on her nightstand was turned on, lighting up the room as she had her back towards Matt, the same position she was in since Y/n last checked on her.

“Hey honey..” Matt says in a hushed tone, slowly walking in the room, shutting the door behind him.

He makes his way over and sits on her bed, sitting in silence for a couple of moments.

He hears sniffles come from her tiny figure, a small weep escaping her lips as a little piece of Matt’s heart shatters at every small sniffle coming from his baby.

“If this is about a boy, then he’s definitely not good enough for you. A-and i’m not even saying that because you’re my daughter, i’m saying that cause i mean it.. and also cause i love you, and i know that you are an amazing person and anyone who doesn’t realize that can go fuck themselves.” Matt’s eyes widen as he says the last part, surprised by his own words. “Don’t tell your mother i said that.”

He hears Ella let out the smallest, quietest chuckle, but it made him smile.

He watches as Estrella sniffles one big sniff, wiping her eyes and then sitting up against her headboard, he gets a good look of her face.

Tear stained covered both her cheeks, her eyes avoiding eye contact with her father at all cost.

Picking at her finger nails that were now chipped with nail polish, a habit she got from her mother when she was nervous or upset.

Matt noticed how short her nails were, the biting problem coming from himself.

“Boys are just so weird dad!” Estrella started, “They’re crazy and disgusting and fools and i just- i don’t know what to do anymore, it hurts dad.” Ella’s voice cracked as she spoke, Matt looking at her with guilt, like it was his fault.

“I’m so sorry, baby. They don’t deserve you, i promise, anybody who thinks he has any right to talk to you like that is a total loser, and i will beat the shit out of any boy that talks bad about you.” Matt threatens.

Ella let’s out a giggle and shakes her head, “You don’t have to do that, dad.”

Matt shrugged, “But i would. And you know why?” He paused, “Because i love you. Your mom loves you-”

“My room isn’t even that messy, mom!” Matt gets interrupted by Mailo yelling in the hallway.

“Mailo, for the love of- there are clothes everywhere! Is that a cup of expired milk?!” Matt and Ella hear Y/n yell also.

Matt and Estrella both share a quick laugh.

“And even your crazy brother loves you. We all do. And one day you’ll find a man who loves you too. And then we will love him.” Matt finishes, Ella having a big smile on her face.

She nods, “Thank you, dad. I love you guys too, even Mailo.” She jokes, making Matt chuckle.

Matt leans forward and kisses Ella’s forehead, “Goodnight, sweetheart. Love you.”

Ella smiles, finally feeling okay again.

Matt walks out into the hallway, walking into Mailo’s room seeing Y/n picking up all of Mailo’s clothes and throwing them into a laundry basket that she had tucked under her arm.

She was muttering things like, ‘Disgusting’ ‘did not get this from me’ ‘crazy kid’

Matt laughed as he leaned against the doorway, Mailo walking in his room with another glass of milk.

Y/n stands up normally and gives him a death stare.

“I’ll take this downstairs then.” He shrugs, walking downstairs with his milk.

Y/n signs and drops the laundry basket, rubbing her eyes before clasping her hands together.

“Okay, how’d it go with Ella?” She wondered, her voice quiet as she kicked some of Mailo’s dirty clothes that were still on the floor out of the way of the door way, both of them making there way out as she shut the door.

Matt shrugged, “You’re right, it was about a boy. But i talked to her and she’s alright now.” Matt said, but his tone wasn’t very excited and Y/n noticed it.

“And…?” Y/n urged him.

Matt let out a sigh, “I don’t know, my baby is getting older. I mean just yesterday was her first day of kindergarten and Mailo’s first day of pre-school. I mean, isn’t that crazy?” Matt ranted.

Y/n nodded, wrapping her arms around her husbands neck, twirling a piece of her husbands hair around her finger. “It is crazy, but it’s just a part of life, and we will just have to deal with it.” Y/n shrugged, not knowing what else to say.

Matt nodded, wrapping his arms around his wife’s waist. “You’re right, thank you.” He leaned down and kissed his wife’s lips quickly. “Is it weird i feel old?” Matt asked as he pulled away.

“You guys are old.” Mailo chimed in.

“Mailo!” Y/n scolded as Mailo let out a loud laugh.

Episode Six: Once Upon a Time in Hopeland

After last episode's cheerful and uplifting conclusion, it's Wolfwood's turn to suffer! Heh, implying it's ever not Wolfwood's turn.

Okay, sometimes it's Roberto's turn. The boys doing a synchronised shrug in the truck's backseat was such a funny way to demonstrate their weird camaraderie even when they're freezing each other out. They looked like a pair of brooding teenagers.

Did anyone actually believe that the reporters had left the story, or that Vash didn't consider them friends?

Anyway, before we get into it, and because I've complained discussed this extensively elsewhere: Legato, Livio. These panels are from flashbacks to earlier in their lives. The further changes to their designs seem to have them more directly contrasting Wolfwood. So we have Livio, neat and professional, to this sockless loser scruffy untucked Wolfwood, as well as white/blue Legato to black/red Wolfwood.

After yesterday's rehearsal in Rollo, it's time for opening night on Nick's backstory as the "undertaker" assumes centre stage - no doubt against his will. For the moment, Vash is somewhat relegated to the background, but it is by no means a coincidence that early in the episode he starts to openly prod Wolfwood about what's motivating him. Also, Wolfwood interrupting his own cantankerous rant about "babysitting" Vash to save him from getting shot makes me laugh. Sorry, dude, you're still not fooling anyone.

Enter Zazie, Livio, Legato and the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad plan. With this, uh, interesting choice of camera angle.

I doubt Knives was consulted about any of this. All other instances of threats against Vash have ended very badly for the threat. Do you want to imagine what would have happened to Legato if Livio had succeeded in carrying out his orders, and Knives found out who was responsible? Having read the manga since, I don't have to. And that's apart from Wolfwood's need to protect being all that's keeping him going. I think this episode and the next are laying down groundwork both for the actual season climax and for whatever comes next.

I said before that Nick was in a bad place, and it's in this episode that we learn just how bad. Leaving aside that his innocence was ripped away and he's been forced into an alien, too-adult body before getting shot and wadded up like bubble gum, he's been coerced into working for the cult holding everyone he loves hostage to his obedience. If he acts out, they're worse than dead. If he escapes, he's replaced. If he dies, he's replaced, so even that's off the table... but judging by the way he reacted to Rollo, he's still got inclinations in that direction. Now his mission's actively being sabotaged by the guy who mocked and tortured him, then coerced him into serving. It's no wonder he doesn't believe in God, or in the cult's angel, or in Vash's good intentions.

Faith means having hope, and that's something he simply cannot afford to have.

And of course it ends on a cliff hanger, so I'll just post these clowns and their stupid axolotl helmets.

Incidentally, axolotls are amphibious lifeforms capable of regenerating limbs, and one of the shapes taken by Xolotl – dog-headed Aztec god of fire, monsters, misfortune, sickness... and twins.

Your background blorbo got married to the cat with the coolest name in warriors. I needed them for the RiverClan Family Tree to make sure I had enough diversity to cross the Missing Generation Fog and ended up making a neat little power couple out of them!

Their children are Duckfur and Greenflower. Duckfur is killed in a fight over Sunningrocks in early TNP, and Greenflower was Sedgecreek's mate for many years before a cat divorce in late TNP.

Whitefang

His sister was Brightsky, making him Leopardstar's maternal uncle!

I think he has one of the coolest canon designs in warriors tbh so I didn't stray much. I just gave him this sleek, doberman-ish face with cool teeth.

Also his back paw boots go up a little further because Catboy Stockings is a VERY funny concept.

You ever notice how much Whitefang looks like a fanon design for a lynxpoint Hawkfrost? I dooo

He wasn't very scheming though, in fact he was a straightforward dude and a good teacher.

He helped his wife when they were young, she was a drypaw just like Leopard so Crookedstar hoped he would work his magic again.

I do not respect Leopardstar's Hacksaw and I'm willing to totally overhaul his death, but dying in a battle for Sunningrocks is fitting.

The patrol that kills Sunfish has been totally redone. It was THISTLECLAW taunting RiverClan as Redtail tried to tell him to knock it off, and Leopardfur killed him for mauling Sunfish.

So there's not really a need for Whitefang to be on that particular run.

It's likely that Whiteclaw died sometime in TPB, either during TigerClan or just before.

His specialties were teaching and hunting.

Dragonclaw

She is a rescued Missing Kit! Dragonflykit was the stillborn child of Greenflower, along with her brother Duckkit. Instead, I've made them her mother and a brother.

I dropped the 'fly' part of Dragonfly. In Clanmew it's all one word anyway. They're beloved and respected animals, excellent and agile hunters.

It is suspected that Dragon was the result of a half-clan crossing, or maybe found somewhere. She looks nothing like a RiverClan cat.

HUGE and sleek-furred, she's all muscle with a short tail and really big teeth, with huge ears that make her get cold really fast.

She is a trash-tier swimmer because of that, she sinks like a rock and can barely steer.

She was terrified of water for a while, but Whitefang was there to help her out. She can stay safe in the river but prefers marsh hunting and net-fishing.

Probably taken out by sickness, sometime shortly after Duck and Green became apprentices.

Her specialties are construction and brawling.

I, uh...

Well, you might say I have some thoughts.

Okay, so, on the one hand, I'm slightly impressed. Certain sections of this episode made me think, "Dude! Where has this level of writing been for the last two seasons?!?" All the scenes at the Reyes house. EZ dumping his bike. Some of it felt really good. It watched well, even if it felt a little out of place with the rest of what we received.

On the other hand, I am disappointed as all hell, for several different reasons. The glaring issue being that I don't foresee a neat little wrap-up in just one episode. Come on. They really are suffering for the bullshit pacing during the rest of the season, and it shows. Ugh. I feel nitpicky for always complaining about that, but this is a clear-cut case of, "We could have had it all!"

Yeah. Anyway.

I'm also at a bit of a loss over Terry claiming the Mayans broke into their (I assume) clubhouse. (And, as an aside, they should really consider some new lighting, or a coat of paint in that bitch, something). Anyway. I understand protecting the girls. Sure. That's a great surface deed. But, not only is it coming back to bite him - and everyone else - in the ass, it's also a terrible watering-down of everything Letty and Hope went through in this series. We didn't hear a thing about Letty this week (unless I missed it), and, unless she delivers the kill shot on Isaac (which I highly doubt), what more is there for her? I love this girl. I wanted the best for her, and the pain they have put her through has been unnecessary, beyond furthering the war. I ask no forgiveness. That just pisses me right off.

I'm distraught about Elio. I really am. Further proof that EVERY MOTHER FUCKING THING EZ touches goes to shit. The looks on Bottles' and Guero's faces... The devastation done to the Broken Saints. Their animals. And all that punk-ass little bitch could worry about was the fucking pipeline?! It's all EZ's fucking fault, top to bottom. (I know the Broken Saints made a decision that came back to bite them, but I only have one more episode to blame El Presidente, okay?).

Which brings me to Felipe. OH, MY FUCKING HELL. I knew it was coming, that Papa Reyes would come under fire, but FUCK ME. Maverick, too?! That poor baby boy!! Like the poor kid doesn't already have enough stacked up against him. Cripes. I would like to hope Felipe is still alive, and that whoever is in that bag is one of the Sons. Felipe is a tough old man, and I'm sure he's been through worse in his younger years. And, yeah, keys words, right there: younger years. Let me hope, huh? I like the dude. But, if he really is gone, my heart can handle it, in that he died to protect his grandson. <3 .

*mutters to herself* No crying at work, Mycki. No crying at work.

I did appreciate seeing Wendy. Nero and the boys would have been awesome, but that's just asking for too much. (Tee-hees). She had some good advice, and I'm glad to find her doing so damned well. She's worked for it, and she's earned it.

But.

After that (long-ass) chat, I'm expected to believe that EZ truly loves Sofia so much 'it hurts'?? *cackles* Gimme a damned break, here!! Since nothing much else happened this week, I'd like to take a moment to say, R.I.P. Les Packer. I'm sure you'll be seeing Little Brother again, shortly.

Finally, my heart is just going out to Angel, yet again. Damn, this poor guy. He's built up some bad karma, sure, but he's steadily lost over the years, too. It just keeps happening, and it's because of his brother. He tried to warn him. Tried to pull him in the right direction. Now, their family has come under fire. AGAIN. His kid, for the second time this season. I hope to hell that he gets out. That he gets out, and far, far away from Santo Padre, and from the Mayans, and from all the bullshit he just doesn't need, anymore. To keep Maverick away from all the haunts and dangers of their family. (Ideally, if the old man is still alive, I'd like him to go along with). I know I've said it before, that Angel has become the Jax of this series, and I still feel that way. At least, in halves. EZ is the Jax that make stupid decisions, and Angel is the Jax that the consequences all come to call on. I just want Angel to be able to be a good father for his kid.

Oh, yeah. Where the hell was everyone else, all of a sudden? Penultimate episode, and suddenly nobody else's bullshit storylines matter? My word!

well pals here we are, the final eat her ear friday of yellowjackets season 2. this post is gonna be a little different than my usual recaps as i’ll focus on more just kinda discussing what i liked, what i didn’t like, what i think might happen next, instead of the more stream of conscious style deal i usually do and it’ll be organized as all teen timeline thoughts followed by all adult timeline thoughts. anyway i have loved yellowjackets blogging with you all this season and cannot wait to continue being insane about this show with all the cool people on this webbed site. spoilers below cut

teen timeline episode thoughts:

- i gotta say teen timeline was top tier this week. i loved every second of the wilderness time from the second it begun.

-just everything about how javi was handled was great, seeing travis’s grief at the start, how shauna butchered javi, van and travis’s talk, travis taking a bite out of javi’s heart, it all just went hard. i wonder if the bite of the raw heart will become a part of the hunt ritual. like the person closest to the hunted or perhaps the person who killed them bites into the heart before cooking it bc i’d fuck with that

- fucking coach man. he really should’ve died this season. he is the only man on this show i truly like but they had to ruin that by just drawing out his life. seriously what was the point of all his paul stuff and his suicide attempt and his clear hopelessness if he wasn’t gonna die. i do think that the girls are gonna hunt him down in s3, like they’ll track him to the cave and kill and eat him then take the cave as their’s. fingers crossed. sorry coach my guy i liked you but you need to die eventually. also fucker burnt down the cabin. what the fuck dude i know you think the girls are monsters but like you’re gonna try to kill them all for it?

- NAT ANTLER QUEEN ok i fucking loved this. lottie no longer being able to hear the wilderness. her passing on the role she never even wanted. nat always having been it’s favorite. nat’s horror turning into joy/acceptance. all the ways the girls pledged their loyalty to her. loved loved loved it cannot wait to see where it goes from here.

next up adult timeline episode thoughts:

- first of all too much of the men. like seriously walter swooping in and saving the day with his plan to frame kevyn for all the adam shit was just so meh. it would’ve been so much better if walter hadn’t been introduced and misty had been the one to pull that kinda shit. also pissed that creep cop lives to see another day get in losers we’re climbing through our computers to kill creep cop ourselves.

- i did really enjoy the recreating of the ritual scene, i thought it was very nicely done and shauna drawing the queen is not what i expected and i did like callie coming in to save her. also how during the ritual there were flashes to their teen selves i ate that shit up.

- ok now the main thing is obviously nat. her death was definitely frustrating. i think it could’ve worked had it happened later in the series or if it had been better set up just how it happened really fell flat. it does definitely seem like juliette wanted out so the writers had to change their plans. just nat’s story does not feel entirely complete and how it all works out from here really depends on how they play things going forward. i do think that there is a way for this to work plot wise i am just definitely concerned.

- so interested by our girl van. how she kinda lights up when lottie says that it worked. i think either van is cured or thinks she is and that that is gonna bring her back to her faith in the wilderness despite how she clearly wanted to leave it behind. so so so excited to see where her story goes especially alongside tai and lottie, there is just so much potential here and i hope they don’t fuck it up.

- finally it really felt like they were trying to hard to make a nice neat tidy ending for the adult timeline. like they wanted to wrap up as many plot points as possible which really doesn’t make sense given the amount of show that is supposedly planned. i’m definitely concerned that they’re gonna introduce some weird out of no where plot lines in the adult timeline to refill the empty space left by what was wrapped up here.

So I'm reading the technical vocabulary, and

SLAVE

slaves had the right to personal compensation (like direct payments if they were assaulted), the right to keep a wife, the right to kill on behalf of the wife (!), the right to acquire wealth

the penalty for lying with a slave woman was the ordinary fine of three marks, c.f. Intercourse

INTERCOURSE

Unlawful intercourse and fathering a child are separate charges with different penalties. The woman has to have a man standing for her, of course, women don't exist under the law. In some cases the man in question has the right to kill the transgressor!

I would eat his heart in the marketplace *ahem*

If a successful suit was brought, the penalty for the man was full outlawry (!) and liability for personal compensation. But the woman also has penalties. Her legal administrator could claim six marks from her - that's twice as much as a main ring wergild!

The penalty for rape or attempted rape was also full outlawry!

"Other kinds of behaviour deemed offensive to a woman (and her family), including composition of love poetry, were also liable at law."

poets better watch out (and honestly this makes sense - this is not a literate society, if you compose a poem to a lady and keep it to yourself no one will ever find out, if poems are being spread then it's because you declaimed them in public and it's uh. a direct attack on her honor, probably viewed something like revenge porn)

anyway.

SLAVES

So, raping a slave woman incurs the same punishment as a single main ring wergild payment (vs raping a free woman, where you're exiled from the country forever)

Slaves could be traded as payment, but they could also have their freedom given or bought. The notional value of a slave was perhaps three marks - so, that's a good reference for the future. (A dead slave, reminder, main ring payment is 24 bits, whatever that is.) A female slave (bondwoman, unless I find out later that the definition of bondwoman is different) is worth half that.

...it is worth mentioning that the owner could kill the slave whenever he wanted, as long as it wasn't Lent or a major feast day. The church may have had something to say about it, though.

A slave was not fully free until he had been "led into the law" - don't know what that means! I hope it involves a turf arch!

FREEDMAN

"except in certain circumstances the penalty for adultery with his wife was lesser, not full, outlawry" fascinating

(note this also makes a hierarchy for sleeping with a dude's wife - free -> freed -> slave it goes full outlawry -> lesser outlawry (3 years) -> 3 marks)

"If a freedman were killed, the case lay with his son (who was counted free, not free); failing him, with his freedom-giver" oh, neat - so giving a slave freedom is, in some edge cases, equivalent to adopting them. You are still considered responsible for them!

however, the freedom-giver had some claim to his property on his death (and more so if he tries to, uh, hide that property from the law/prevent this)

but the freedom-giver is required to provide maintenance of the freedman, if he cannot support himself. (It's not clear what this means from the appendix alone, but I suspect it's basic food/water/shelter.) Remember that per Saga Thing, slavery died out in Iceland because the responsibility for getting slaves through the winter wasn't worth it!

8. Do you have any fond coop memories? Does a specific moment stand out to you?

I rarely do coop, cause a) I suck and b) I used to get anxious. But! Recently I needed help with Commander Niall so I summoned a dude that looked really edgy. Dual katanas, not wearing chest armor, using Chaos spells... That type. He seemed like he could pack a punch and honestly that's all I needed. Anyway, as we've established, I suck, which means I never dealt with the weird Lion Guardians. So I run past them towards the elevator. My guy tries to be nice or something and tries to fight the first one. I hear Chaos spells and then the guy's health bar drops like a 1/3. I turn around to help. He decides to leave. We pass each other at the stakes and I start throwing boulders at the lion cause it's already hurt a bit, might as well kill it. So he sees me and comes back again. Que him getting agro and then managing to get hit by every. single. attack. He falls down, gets up, heals, get hit immediately and do that three times over. At that point the second lion has engaged my ass and now we're both fighting for our lives. Not long after, he dies and I run to the bonfire to reset the lions, at which point I discover I can cheese them at the gate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, I just found it funny that a dude confident enough to not use shields or chest armor was getting his ass kicked even harder than me while he was supposed to be helping me.

15. Do you have any unpopular opinions about any of the games?

Dark Souls II was the best in the trilogy. :P

But to say something I can actually back up, I know this isn't unpopular on the tumblr side of the fandom, but the Souls games are about hope and perseverance and are so much more than just "hard" games. Especially Elden Ring, with the Ranni ending pushing free will, Finley loving Malenia despite her curse, Ranni and Rykard keeping an eye to their maddened mother, Radahn adoring his horse, Rya having loving adoptive parents, MELINA, Marika tearing down everything she build due to loosing her child, etc... Just. So much of the story is about love. Platonic, romantic, parental, whatever. The Souls games are about hope and love existing and persevering in the face of decay and horror and I think that's really neat.

19. Do you play PvP?

I used to duel a lot in DSII and DSIII but I stopped cause it felt way too tryhard and just... DSIII duels were really unfun. And I also got really tired of the meme culture the series had at the time so I left.

I recently got interested again, purely from seeing your posts and you having so much fun as an invader. So I got an actual legal copy of the game and last weekend I almost finished setting up a RL90, beast incantations based build, wielding the Cinquedea. Just need to get one more Deathroot for Gurranq's Beast Claw and then I'm invading left and right. :D (never touching duels again though, fuck that noise)

Iseult: her death REALLY made no sense. Her character was interesting and even tho they had that classic "he's MY grubby good for nothing man" trope going on with Midrith (I dunno if that's her name, can't remember) her whole thing with seeing and saving Alfred's kid was like. Actually really good. And then to have her ask Uthred to essentially fuck the prophetic powers out of her only so that she can't see her death coming.....boo. boo she was so cool fuck uuuuu. But yk she was set up to fail from the start tbh

Hilde: I won't get into her but I'm thinking if you're at season 3 you must be starting to be like 👁️👄👁️. That feeling will continue they fail her high-key

Gisela: I HAVE NEVER SEEN. A DEATH MORE WORTHLESS. literally died OFF SCREEN TOO if I remember and like why. She was a good character that didn't REALLY drive the plot but she literally was just That Girl yk. Every line was iconic and awesome (also we get Uthreds iconic "now I will never be taken away from you" line which was!!!!!!!!) Also how did she move the plot along more with her death than when she was alive I mean. C'mon.

Uhh I forgot how to spell her name, the lady of Mercia: I feel like she had the most character. Like everything that happened to her was iconic. I don't know why she loved Uthred tho. Like the romance was neat but like that guard dude was. There. Anyways won't say more but she and Erik for life.

favorite thing about him

it's all about the LOVE

he's just. he's an artist he's a romantic he sees the best in people he mastered all 7 colors of the emotional spectrum he's the best of them all he's traumatized to hell and back he's the torchbearer he's the first he's the last he's the white lantern he's the golden boy he's just a kid trying his best I just think he's neat <3

I also love how dark he gets sometimes ! like. idk I like em a little fucked up, ya know?! he tortures and kills bad guys and doesn't show a bit of guilt and I think it's great <3 he's so good and hopeful and loving but he's also a little messed up <3

least favorite thing about him

idk I guess....his stubbornness? I usually don't Hate things about a character just because even their bad traits make them multifaceted! 3 dimensional! but I do admit it's a little annoying when he refuses to budge on something. his follow-your-heart attitude, while GREAT, also tends to give him tunnel vision, and it can be hard for him to see another point of view (especially if he has personal stakes in the matter.) what I'm thinking of right off the top of my head is during Kyle and Connor's teamup, when they meet Kyle's "dad" and Connor is suspicious (rightly so!) but Kyle is so blinded by his emotions that he refuses to even consider that Connor is wise to be cautious. it ends up causing some problems down the line, and temporarily damaged their friendship. from a writer's standpoint it's a brilliant character flaw because it can also be a strength, depending on the situation! Kyle's free heart have done a lot of good and it's why I love him! it just...isn't always good, ya know? from a reader's standpoint it can get frustrating to see him refuse to even consider another point of view even though he really probably should. idk it's all relative

his and Connor's friendship is just. GOALS. they meet up during a fight and decide "oh we're besties now" and go on a road trip to find Kyle's dad. along the way they get into a bar fight (Kyle started it) and also start a fight with an entire town of lawyers before finally meeting aforementioned dad (who wasn't really his real dad but shh). they banter they tease and Kyle makes constructs for his friend to carry him around and Connor has to haul Kyle out of ridiculous situations he keeps getting himself into. I fuckin love those two.

favorite movie ? do u have any recommendations because ive been really trying to watch more movies 😭

hello !! um, apologies in advance, i am also trying to watch more movies myself and my selection is not that great :S

anyway, my favourite movie ever is the crow, the one with brandon lee~ it's about this dude, eric draven, who gets murdered alongside his fiancée on the day before their wedding; one year later, the spirit of a crow brings him back so he can get revenge :O

it's dark and grimy and has enough action to keep you interested if that's your thing, but what i like are the gothic vibes and music, and the characters are what really matters~ eric's revenge is all about his love for his fiancée and friends, more than anything :D it's also a neat tribute to the actor; you can tell the production team put a lot of love into the editing to honour his memory (he died during filming u.u)

(i think they're making a remake with bill skarsgård, which i am not looking forward to but i'll give it a shot even if every remake / sequel that came after the original was terrible x.x)

do mind the violence, though; it has a lot of dead lads and like two vaguely-explicit five second shots of some ladies :S so be careful if that makes you uncomfy

on a lighter note, i used to really like patch adams (with robin williams) and would watch it once a year whilst i was in med school. it's a little sour now since i had to drop out, but the movie itself is fun and inspiring, much like most of his work~ :]

-Okay so I really like this scene with Juleka and Luka. it is a good brother sister moment. Luka knows she was hiding something and cared to ask.

-Poor juleka. She has so much pressure on her. And Luka looks so giddy. (or as giddy as his character model will allow)

-Juleka is standing there... the guilt... poor girl. Marinette why did you make her go through that.

-And the plan obviously backfired. SO LUKA IS GONNA GET TARGETED NUMBER 3!

-What akuma would he have he had anyway? I wonder if its like tear drops on my guitar

-Wow... Um that was touching. The group showing they care about Luka. That is sweet and prevents an akuma. NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO SALT ON THEM TODAY.

-And Jagged proves he is an awful dad... And I got my hopes up.

-Shadowmoth's consistent failure makes me laugh

-The album that caused their seperation? Oh damn

-Shadowmoth is like "FINALLY A DIVORCE!"

- Wait... the item broke as it was getting akumatized?! HOW DOES THAT WORK?!

-guitar villain vs CAPTAIN HARDROCK! AKUMA FIGHT! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING. PLEASE DONT MAKE THIS BORING!?

-I love this already. Also Alya is acting to get a distraction.

-Ladybug arrives. And they are fighting...

-Adrien is make up first and safety second.... I love him so much

-Chat noir saving Ladybug... a nice change of pace.

-So its like... a Super punch? Neat.

-And now that it was all together it could be destroyed.

-Oh neat two charms in one!

-Juleka spoke up! Oh no. I LOVE HER EVEN MORE NOW!

-And father daughter moment is cute.

-Now for Luka and Marinette finally talk.

-And they both agree to be friends

Overall 8 out of 10. (Not including the Plot holes. with plot holes included. 7 out of 10)

I will say this, Great episode for the Couffaine family. All of them got some Development. (well anarke was a bit lacking but still)

Juleka was MVP. And I am glad Marinette and Luka are friends.

It was cute and the fight wasnt boring. I think they could have done a bit more with it. But it was fine. The comedy was on point.
