I genuinely don't understand the gripes a few people have with how Belos was handled in the finale. "Dont just brush him off as being evil" Well, why the fuck not? Dude wasnt born evil but he purposefully chose destruction and death at every possible opportunity for 400+ years. Nothing about his backstory would have made any impact on the characters affected, because its not an excuse, its not even an explanation! Caleb had the same childhood and he loved the Boiling isles. Eat boots Belos.

Ok, buckle up cause this is gonna be a long one, we gotta have a chat about Belos as a character, because there's been so many takes about this i keep seeing about " he never accepted the isles the way luz did" and "He had 400 years to change and he never took the took the offer", because it just seems like the fandom wants to kinda ignore a lot of the nuance about his situation and why it's not that simple?

and i'm for sure certain it's because the fandom is obviously already pretty biased against him since he's the villain, and what he does to the main characters as well as represents.

And that's fine, obviously he becomes a pretty bad person, no one is obligated to like him and it's ok to feel uncomfortable given the character he is.

But i think a lot of these issues as to why people have such mixed opinions about the finale has a lot to do directly with the fact the show DID keep his backstory as vague as they did, when if they had gone into it i think we would've had less of this discourse.

Now none of this is me excusing him obviously, but the fandom is very adamant to just not allow him to have depth either, when....he's allowed to be irredeemable and have depth at the same time. He's meant to be a very human villain, a character that could happen to anyone under the right circumstances

So not exploring that depth, why it got how it did, and how things like it can be prevented is a flaw within the show and among a lot of fans.

And to be fair, the show does not HAVE to do it, but the show also clearly wrote his character to have a lot of implied depth whether people like it or not, him coming from a very real religious group alone and making him a foil to luz has turned what could of been a very one note villain into one with a lot of layers to his villainy.

And if the show wants to make belos a very one note villian, no depth, they could of very easily done this by just cutting out details like his love and care for his brother, or just make make him want to destroy witches simply because he decided on his own they were worth destroying.

But that's not exactly what they've presented belos as being.

The show thrives in having characters who aren't just simple nor cookie cutter.

Hunter isn't just some cocky sidekick, he's an abused teenager who craves love and affection, and is willing to go high and low to earn it, terrified to be thrown away and replaced and constantly is forced into a mold just to get the affection he craves. He's highly sheltered and isolated just because his father figure doesn't want him to be his own person since that wasn't what he was created for

King isn't just a tiny little brat who craves power, he's a child whose been lied to about his past, and he wanted nothing more then to be taken seriously and feel a sense of belonging. He believes that he wants power, but finds out he really only wanted to be treated like anyone else, and that he's far happier with a family that loves and cares about him rather then being a powerful demon king.

Lilith isn't just a self important antagonist who wants to force eda to do what she wants, she grew up close to her sister and wanting to be by her side well into the future, but felt a sense of inadequacy in comparison to eda. The pressures of the coven system and need to win against her sister made her make a drastic choice she regrets and she wants nothing more then to fix it and make everything the ideal fantasy they grew up wanting to have together. She's also a large nerd, craves the attention of higher figures since her own mother used to put all the attention on eda, and changed her appearance just so people would take her seriously.

And the show does this with most of it's cast, obvi there's the exception like tibbles and even bosha who don't have too much to them, but they're also very minor antagonists and there's still stuff you can pick up on.

Belos however is the main antagonist, everything that happens in the show, happens because of him, his entire backstory is basically why the plot of the show happens.

Not just that, but also caleb and evelyn, if it weren't for the drama between these three, there would be no show.

And people are WELL aware these three aren't the main leads, they aren't going to be the main focus of most episodes and obviously the show was going to end in the favor of the main characters.

But

the story the show tells between these three ties very strongly into the ones with the leads too. We are given at least enough details to notice parallels between stuff that happens with characters like luz, and characters like philip.

We know philip and luz grew up in gravesfield, we know there were outcasts there, and they had one family member they relied on to support them there. They ended up in the demon realm, they both learned magic, and they both are strongly motivated by their beliefs regarding the isles.

So there's a lot they share in common, which makes it really easy to take a look at philip and say "Well it's his fault for not being like luz and accepting the isles like she did".

But, there's a lot of differences here

Luz grew up with fantasy, with magic stories about witches and heroes and demons. Philip grew up in a 1600s puritan village which demonized this stuff, he was a young child growing up being told this stuff was evil and he was taught to fight against it.

Luz felt odd for her interests and out there personality but at worst she felt isolated and misunderstood, she didn't like her mom's efforts to change her to be "Normal". Philip actually conformed to gravesfield, caleb clearly encouraging his brother to do so, just so both of them could fit in with the town. Had they not conformed at best they'd be isolated, but at worst they'd be dead.

Camilia is an adult who eventually opens up and talks to luz about how it was wrong to try and change her to be "Normal", that she herself hid her own interests to do so.

Caleb, was a child, he did not have any open conversations with his younger brother. Caleb hid evelyn and his interests with witches from philip and then on top of this, left philip behind.

You could absolutely say the fact caleb didn't talk to philip is pure speculation, and not confirmed at all. That all of this could be summed up to unreliable narrators.

But we know caleb left for the isles before philip did, we know it took time for philip to find him again (because his beard grew out), we know caleb had a wife who seems to be pregnant, that he was introducing philip to (Implying he not only hasn't seen philip in awhile, but that eve and philip have never met to caleb) and all of that alone feeds into the fact caleb left him behind to start another life. This is all shown in his memories alone, stuff we can't chalk up to unreliable narrators.

So the most logical conclusion to come to is caleb left philip to start a new family, we don't have a lot of details as to if caleb ever planned to return, if caleb had good reasons to do what he did, or much about his mindset.

But we have enough to know Philip loved and looked up to caleb, that he relied on caleb, and caleb lied and left him.

There is again, reason to tie this back to camila and luz.

but this is not a child leaving a parent behind, this is a parental figure leaving a child behind.

This is what i mean by the issue being lack of clear answers, people claim caleb left when philip was an adult, but we actually have no confirmed evidence for this. We have enough of philip's memories to know 2 things, that he was still a teenager when caleb was meeting evelyn, and he was an adult when he arrived.

You could argue philip was an adult by the time caleb left, but it's so vauge you can also argue caleb left when philip was a child and philip didn't figure out his way to the demon realm till adulthood and there's not enough proof to go one way or another.

now titan dad says philip had no genuine reasons for his actions, that he did this all for glory, but as steve put it back in OTWAT, the titan is just a guy.

And given the collector situation, he can make mistakes and screw up just like anyone else.

Titan dad only sees what he can see and make observations based on what he sees. He saw a human come to the isles with a bias already against witches, who ended up killing his brother, who claimed to come here to save others and that's all he's going to see philip as being. Someone who wants to save others but just hurts them instead.

He has no reason to know what philip grew up under, nor does he have reason to know philip and caleb's story before they arrived. There's no denying philip did love caleb, and that they were close, but that caleb leaving him behind for witches drove them apart.

I think the problem ppl even have with what titan dad says is purely because the fans take it at face value, because let's be honest, most fans will believe the objective heroes for what they assume over the villians. And since the show again, leaves philip's story vauge, and never puts it in the main focus, people will just assume what titan dad says must be the truth.

Like yes, you can pick up on these details if you are paying attention, but most people won't do that, so a lot of fans will listen to the god telling them what philip's motivations are coming from rather then put together the sense of betrayal from caleb that hurt philip that most of the evidence is actually pointing to.

philip had no parents, and had no one but caleb as far as we can tell, and then caleb left him too, like he didn't want him anymore.

And he left him in a bigoted town, alone.

the damage this could of done if he was a child is pretty darn bad, and for philip to assume this happened because of a witch means reinforcing everything he's been taught about witches.

Caleb lied about his changes, so when caleb sees him again, caleb seems to be a different person, which does fit with what philip says to luz about the isles "Brainwashing people".

tho you can argue that that's not the truth, that philip knows caleb did it on purpose and killed him for betraying him, cause of how he blames him in episodes like FTF.

But again, this is the result of leaving things vague, because either situation is plausible.

it's plausible philip never intended to kill caleb at all and he died as the result of trying to protect eve because the show says he was trying to target evelyn to save caleb, and it's plausible he died on purpose out of philip's rage for caleb leaving him. Because guess what? That means caleb had the means to go see him and could've seen him but made the choice NOT to, so yeah, that's pretty heartbreaking.

again, this also comes into play regarding Philips's guilt.

People objectively keep saying philip HAS no guilt regarding caleb, but we have evidence for both guilt and non guilt.

Now, sure, his portrait of dead caleb implies philip is not guilty for his death based on his expression after the fact. We also have the fact philip shows distain towards the grimwalkers, that he never outright expresses he feels bad to anyone.

But, we also have caleb's death being treated as one of philip's worst memories in KT that he objectively recalls in horror, he says he "Tried" to save caleb in FTF, which implies he wanted to save him and that he's mad he didn't manage to do so. The grimwalkers and caleb could be seen as ghosts, but also as hallucinations, and if you are seeing them as the latter then it makes sense he'd be seeing them out of some level of guilt towards having them killed.

If the show had these details explained more fully, it would be easy to either deem belos as being a murderous dick with no remorse who thinks killing was the right thing, or as a guilt ridded stubborn murderer who wants to not acknowledge he was wrong and screwed up.

it's why people are split, because you could objectively choose to see him both ways and the ending will affect you differently depending on what you picked up on.

But now let's talk about philip not changing, because people have bashed him for not doing so in the 400 years he's been there and that he had opportunities to do so but didn't.

And i think this is half right, half wrong.

Philip came to the isles with biases, he basically grew up in a cult, he came in thinking he was traveling into hell to go find caleb. Caleb encouraged his hatred, and then his hatred got further pushed when caleb seemed to be kidnapped, and then further pushed when he was surrounded by nothing but bigots.

So this man was already on a bad foot compared to luz, who was here to live out the fantasy books she grew up on, and objectively would have no reason to hate or fear witches nearly as much.

And we do know while the BI can be compassionate, it also has it's issues, even luz faced discrimination for being human herself while on the isles. Being powerless there is well, not great, it's why luz had to figure out her own way to do things alongside everyone else.

And the Bi ARE dangerous, especially for humans, so it's at least understandable philip is not going to just show up and look past the flesh eating plants, the evil weather, and the lack of anything he can even objectively eat.

Now philip could of considered things outside of his bias, and made the effort to try and look at things from a new perspective. But we also have to acknowledge that it's not easy to come out of this long time brainwashing either, and that it takes time and help to do so.

And philip, didn't seem to have that.

Yes, caleb grew up the same way, but not only was he older, which already set him up to question things more. But he had evelyn, he had someone to challenge him and his views and change his mind.

Philp, doesn't have that, there is no confirmation anyone ever really chose to challenge his views or make him realize he was following a lie.

Caleb could of but caleb left.

All we see is philip, isolated, following the beliefs he was taught and being hostile to witches, and witches rightfully being hostile back, which just further is feeding into his bias.

You can assume philip had chances to change but didn't, but there's no real strong evidence of that being offered to him either. That any witch ever tried to make him question anything.

It's pure speculation.

Now Philip is a stubborn ass dude for sure, so yeah, we can claim he just simply didn't want to consider it.

But people are claiming Philip was shown help that he didn't take and that's just not true. We never see anyone asking him to do the right thing or making him question things, at least not compassionately.

no one to our knowledge ever did challenge him, or did reach out to him, not even in the show itself.

Luz is rightfully hostile towards him even when trying to challenge him, hunter does attempt to try and come up with helpful ideas but he would silence himself if his uncle didn't like it (Not to mention the existing fact that he is supposed to be a caleb replacement so his existence comes from philip not wanting him to change or question things philip thinks caleb should not), and well....collector giving him a hug isn't gonna do anything at that point to stop him from thinking the worst of the isles.

This is partially because belos has the power in scenes, that if he hears what he doesn't want to hear he can quickly silence the individual and ignore it.

He's basically put in situations where no one is challenging him and if they are, they're usually doing it with distain and he's responding like a dick right back.

So maybe not much could of been done when belos has become emperor, outside of some rare occurrences where he has no choice but to listen or if he was challenged by someone he respected and would be less willing to hurt. Maybe he's too far gone to back out now and has too much power to even allow himself to consider what anyone had to say, even if they did do it kindly and wouldn't face his wrath.

but he was only emperor for 50 years too.

So ok, what about before that?

Well, yeah, maybe there were chances he could of been, but that's a period of time we only see so much of, and none of it shows one way or the other that Philip was offered the chance to improve.

I think had we gotten a scene of philip being offered a chance to do good, to consider things, that he knew he was wrong and still rejected it, it would back up this whole "Philip made the choice to not get better" thing people claim.

but truth is, it's speculation, we don't know.

A guy who spent his life buying into where he grew up and came in with biases that became a cycle of him being terrible and witches reinforcing what he thought isn't just suddenly going to change his mind and be nice now on a whim unless those biases are challenged in a way he can't deny.

it's on him for not considering looking on things outside of his bias for sure, but people seem to think doing that is simple and easy and it's really not.

Philip had no evelyn, he was left with no one but his bias and stubborn mind.

It's like king said back in hollow mind " People don't want to believe they've been following the wrong person their whole lives", and philip didn't have a luz like hunter did to help him realize how wrong he really was.

Instead it got worse and worse.

This is why philip feels real, because this can happen to people, that they can grow up with hate and never receive the help they needed to pull them out of the mindset. So they get worse, they become worse people.

and we can argue philip didn't deserve the chance to get better, but you'll never know if you don't try and we don't know if anyone did try before he was too far gone.

to think all of this could of been avoided if caleb actually spoke to his brother and gave him the chance to change...

Tying this all back to the beginning-

Philip's story ties into luz, they are foils in a lot of ways, but people need to remember they have differences outside of luz being a good person and philip being a bad person. Those differences make them into the people they are.

That luz was set up to love the isles in a way philip was set up to come in with a bias against it.

That it is not as simple as "Philip should of just got better" given what happened to him and the lack of help he had.

That philip never really is objectively shown to be offered genuine chances to reconsider his views on the show as much as people keep claiming so, and it's mostly all assumption at this point.

That so much of this argument over whether he's one way or the other could of been fixed if the show hadn't kept things vague.

By doing so, it leaves a lot for interpretation about him and therefore means people will have different views on what he thinks and feels and therefore will have different views on how his death should of been handled.

Caleb and philip tie into camila and luz, they tie into the clawthrone sisters, they are the basis for the plot of the series, they tie into hunter and the themes of being understood and being honest about yourself and conformity and it is no wonder people care about them.

It is incredibly valid if anyone expecting this story, that tied into the plot so hard ,as well as the themes, was upset it felt unexplained or dropped in the finale.

Especially since the fandom, with an obvious hatred for belos, responded to it by treating titan dad's word as god and simplifies philip's story completely despite everything i just mentioned here.

It is perfectly fine if you are not someone who cares about belos, but the people who do are perfectly allowed to be bothered that the show itself kept the complexity vague and not addressed and none of it mattered when it came to how his arc ended.

And that the only person who properly gives a personal opinion of what he thinks his motives are, simplifies him to being evil, and the fandom roles with that and the show never tries to do much to prove otherwise despite the evidence.

because this is a fascinating story about how conformity and bigotry can drive two close brothers apart and it feels like a story the show should of at least dedicated more of an episode to.

Especially since there's no clear idea if we'll ever get extra toh content to really tie any of this up.

Again, none of this excuses belos/philip for what he did, does, or tries to do, no amount of his life being screwed over and people treating him bad and not reaching out to him will ever excuse the fact he went so far.

But let's also just, not pretend it was an easy fix either, that someone can just....stop believing what they believe with the drop of a hat.

Especially given how this can reflect real people who are made into people like this.

He is nuanced, and people are attached to this villain for good reasons.

Nothing is simple about him, and it's just a product of how the show has handled his character.

Gotham City, all the way back when you were kids. Didn’t feel like it, though. Not when you two were up all night off on adventures—more like missions—and occasionally crossing paths. Batman and Robin weren’t too fond of you and Catwoman giving them headaches from time to time with your heists and all that fun stuff. But sooner or later they cracked and started letting you two off the hook.

The flirting was just playful at first, a literal get-out-of-jail free card, if you will. But somewhere down the line, you started to mean it. You liked your time spent with Robin, and every once in a while you’d even let him catch you.

Nights that you and Selina split up, the Bat and the Bird had to do the same. That’d when you got him alone. And after a while, you’d just end up on a random rooftop teasing him in some silly, flustering way. A cute comment here and there to let him know you were still interested. Jumping across rooftops and crawling up fire escapes to keep him on his toes while you talked. Although you were still strangers out of these costumes, you still managed to drop a little personal detail every once in a while to bond. Part of you worried if he was only letting you escape to trick you into some false sense of security, lately you’ve been returning stolen goods to him just to see him again.

And night after night there were new encounters, only in these you weren’t really doing anything wrong. Just pouncing around and watching the city, almost like you were on patrol. You could tell him you were just watching over Gotham while he was elsewhere.

It was funny how awkward he was at first when you met. But it’d been some months since the Cats got out of the bag, and Selina was starting to warm up to Batman, too. It was kind of cute. Robin seemed so much more confident talking to you nowadays, he flirted back and laughed with you and pretended you got away when Batman asked where you went (oh, and Catwoman also got away!).

There was one particular night that you’ll never forget. This one night where you’d just snuck out to be in the city, secretly hoping Robin was out, too. All suited up in your catlike garb roaming the streets and rooftops of Gotham, and hours went by without a sighting of your special guy. You sat at the ledge of a rooftop overlooking Downtown Gotham—a bit too close to GCPD, but maybe that was where you needed to be.

It wasn’t long before Robin saw a figure concerningly close to the edge of a high building, and he could just barely make out those cat ears on your head. He awkwardly split off from Batman, who warned him not to do anything stupid. They had just put away a D-list villian and, let’s face it, they’re the most annoying ones to deal with and Batman now had to wash ketchup and mustard out of the crevices of his armor.

Robin met you up top, cheeks warming when he saw your immediate smile when you turned around, he gave you the same one. “Do you want to get a pizza?” He asked you with a shrug and a tilt of his head. You furrowed your brows just barely. “I guess not?”

“I mean—sure. But you want to go now? Like, dressed like this?” You sort of giggled, leaning into the idea just a little.

“Why not?” Robin asked you, eyes gleaming with just a bit of boy wonder. “Gotham’s seen weirder.”

“How’s that gonna affect your ‘image,’ huh? A good boy like you hanging out with the likes of a cat burglar, what would dear old Jim Gordon have to say?” You kept teasing him, but it seemed he was set on the idea. “You don’t even care, do you, Birdy?”

“I don’t, actually.” He said, extending his gloved hand to you. You accepted his help off the ledge and got to your feet.

“Got a place in mind?” You asked him as he walked off without an answer. “Okay, Batman.” You crossed your arms and walked behind him, only half-amused with his manners. But he was still cute the way he acted like Batman in those bright colors and tight pants. At least they’d been tweaked over the past few months, you couldn’t tell if he’d hit some kind of growth spurt or he just really liked tight clothes.

“See that sign over there?” Robin pointed down the street, a bright neon sign displayed the word “PIZZA” in red lettering, encased in a yellow circle you assumed was also pizza. “Twenty-four hours. You’ll be glad to know they do their best work in these hours.”

“You mean ‘vigilante hours?’” You joked, nudging him with your elbow.

“Something like that.” He nudged back. Suddenly, he leaped off the edge of the building—which actually wasn’t that tall if you were used to this sort of thing—and used a grapple gun to break the landing.

“Wow. We’re doing this, huh.” You equipped a whip and secured it to the neighboring building, descending yourself in a much more anticlimactic way—but still impressive if you weren’t used to this sort of thing. “Show off.”

“Had to do it one of these days, you’re always one-upping me.” He said walking forward, just a casual stroll down the streets of Gotham in costume, ignoring any pedestrians or nearby residents that may be up this late. Part of you hoped that you’d run into trouble just to see how it’d feel to fight side by side, show him you’re more than just mischief, you’re a bit kickass, too.

After a few minutes of chatting, the pair of you made it to the pizza shop. Robin opened the door for you where the bell above the door chimed when you entered. The employees watched as two masked freaked walked inside and casually asked what they could get for you. You shrugged when Robin looked at you for your preference, letting him pick for you. Then he pulled out a couple twenty dollar bills from his pocket and told them “keep the change.”

“Got any more of those for me?” You batted your eyes and tilted your head.

“You want to get paid for this date?” He chuckled, wondering if he should make his next joke, but he knew you had a sense of humor. “Wouldn’t that make you a hooker?” You broke into laughter that he joined in on and tapped him on the arm.

“Hey, whatever you wanna call me. As long as I get a couple bucks, what’s the harm?” You joked back and Robin thought to himself how nice your genuine laughter was, not just those careful little chuckles and giggles were. Your true smile was goofy and brilliant to him. Lost in the moment, your order was called up and the two of you left the shop with a hot box of pizza.

“Hold this real quick?” Robin handed the box off to you, then grabbed your waist and grappled to a nearby rooftop as you squealed from surprise.

“What ever happened to a gentlemanly warning? I could have dropped the pizza!” You told him as he took it back.

“Looks good to me.” He peeked in and brought it to another ledge. “I take it you like the view?”

“What do you mean?” You walked closer and took a seat.

“I always see you sitting or standing on the edge of these buildings. You just brooding?” He raised a brow.

“That’s more of a Batman thing.” You took a piece of pizza and took a bite.

“Then tell me why you’re always hanging out on tall buildings.”

“I like looking around, is that a crime?” You asked with a mouthful of cheese and bread.

“No, but breaking and entering is. And stealing, of course.” He took a slice and sat beside you. Below your dangling feet was just another street of Gotham City, a street he protected and you would just watch. Nothing special about it, especially since there were no museums or penthouses here.

You sat with your hands at your sides, leaning forward a bit to get a better view of the ground. It was then that you felt a gentle touch, Robin’s hand on yours. You glanced at him from the side and he saw as your lip curled slightly. If you didn’t know any better, you might have seen him blush. It was strange in a way, feeling so drawn to someone without a name. “Robin” had a nice ring to it, though.

summary: you try to understand miles, but you cant.

a/n: this is the first time i try writing something so i'm so sorry if it's bad. plz leave suggestions and stuff if ya want! also debating a part 2 but i hate this sooo i don't know yet...

you and miles grew up together. making an oath to stick together for the rest of your lives in the sandbox of a park about two blocks from miles’ apartment. and you guys sure stuck to that oath. from crying about getting sand in each other’s eyes, going through the awkward teenage phase (and miles still going through it), to being accepted into the same school. you guys were inseparable. 

recently, you found out about miles’ secret vigilante identity. you didn’t take it very well and constantly scolded miles about his safety, but you were glad he chose to trust you. 

of course, when it came to trust it came with knowing other stuff too… such as knowing who gwen was. and to make it even better, since you were the only person (other than ganke) that he can go on to talk about her, you became a victim of listening to the constant babble of gwen this and gwen that. you literally didn’t know how much longer you can take it, especially with those feelings of yours bubbling in your stomach. 

of course… how cliché of you to be in love with your best friend of years. plus your best friend being the super oblivious miles did not make it any better. 

anyways going back, you didn’t know how to tell miles that you’re in love with him without ruining your years of friendship or how to just simply ask him to shut the fuck up about gwen without hurting his feelings. you literally didn’t know how he could talk about her for hours without getting tired (although if someone asked you about miles, you would go on for ages, but that’s different) and the number of times you’ve caught him sketching her in his journal has become freaky. 

you love miles but this is just getting tiring. you want things to be how they were. when you guys would sneak up to the roof and talk about the stars or sneak out to do some graffiti. now it’s just cancelled plans, late texts backs, and constant excuses. and that’s how you are now, sitting outside the steps of miles’ apartment waiting for him to arrive with the cakes for his dad’s promotion party. you look down at your phone and open it again to see if he responded.

you sighed for the twentieth time, wondering when miles was going to arrive. you just sat outside on the steps to his apartment when about ten minutes later you hear a crash. you stand and squint looking up. 

“y/n! come upstairs so we can enter the rooftop together,” there was miles, head handing outside his window. you nodded your head and headed upstairs to his apartment. you didn’t even bother knocking and simply just barging into his house. walking into his room, you see miles rushing to get his shoes on. 

leaning against the wall, you stared down at miles, “so what was it this time? it better be good enough that you’re late to your own father’s party”

“yes i knowww, i just got caught up doing some stuff. the villian today was super weird though and then i almost lost the cakes, but you know what? none of that matters because i’m here now!” he gave you one of his wide smiles.

you couldn’t stay serious with him when you gave you that smile. you yourself cracked a smile, shaking your head. “okay, noted. crazy day for spiderman, now hurry up and get your shoes on faster because one more minute longer and your mom is gonna freak.”

“well seems like my mom is already freaking,” miles smugly looked at you while standing up, grabbing the cakes and leaving you behind. you grumbled and just followed behind him. 

arriving to the rooftop, you can already see miles’ mom looking around and as if she sensed miles, she quickly walked over to you guys. 

“miles donde estabas? you’re late to your own dad’s party? y/n thank you so much for getting miles here,” miles’ brows furrowed as his mom gave you all the glory for him being there.

“mom what? i got here just fine!” 

“no, thank y/n because i know she’s the responsible one out of the two of you,” you gave miles the same smug look that he gave you earlier and tilted your head a little higher.

“anyways, grab something to eat. miles, ven porque your dad and i want to talk to you for a minute” rio gave her son a look. 

you simply nodded your head and strolled off to make yourself a plate. sitting down on a bench somewhere, you tried to block out and avert your gaze from miles’ parents yelling at him. you felt bad that you couldn’t do anything especially when you know so much about him that others don’t understand. 

about an hour has passed since miles’ scolding and you didn’t want to approach him directly after to save him from embarrassment and allow him to take a few minutes to himself. you assumed that he went to his room and would come back in a couple minutes because you knew he wouldn’t completely miss his dad’s party. 

you engaged in small conversations with miles’ cousins and family members, but after a while they left to go eat or do their own thing. resorting to scrolling through your phone and watching a couple tiktoks when you feel a tap on your shoulder.

“mija, quien es esa que esta arriba con miles?” rio tilted her head in the direction where miles was. surprising you completely, miles was on the water tower with gwen laughing and nudging each other. looking and them and snapping your head back to rio who seemed a but agitated with her eyebrows quirked up. 

“uhh.. i think that’s gwanda? one of miles’ friends but she’s usually out of town. miles’ never mentioned her coming though…” you simply shrugged your shoulders. feeling a heavy weight in your stomach, you tried not to look over at them again. 

approaching behind rio was jeff. he had a similar expression as rio, brows furrowed and scratching his head. 

“she looks old enough to vote… and i bet she doesn’t even speak spanish,” rio kept talking about gwen which didn’t help you trying to block out the sinking feeling. jeff crossed his arms and kept looking over at them. 

somehow, rio convinced you and jeff to go up to the water tower and meet gwen. now, you’ve never met gwen but you sure have heard enough about her to know that she’s not a bad person. 

rio was stumbling to get up the tower and introduce herself to gwen. crashing into miles slightly, not caring a bit if she interrupted anything. “hello! i’m miles’ mom,”

“rio! i’ve heard so much about you!” immediately hearing those words come out of gwen’s mouth, you winced. you knew that rio was not about having first name bases with any one of miles’ friends. you glanced over at miles’ expression who seemed a bit worried. 

looking at the interaction was a bit odd and very awkward, especially with you standing next to miles’ parents doing nothing. you didn’t want to make a move to introduce yourself either, you didn’t know if there was anything for you to say really. honestly rio’s jokes weren’t making it any better either. hearing “don’t take him from me.. oh! you can’t cause he’s grounded haha” and “don’t break his heart” coming from rio’s mouth was just making you want to get bitten by a spider so you can turn invisible in that moment. 

gwen trying to escape the moment made up that she needed to get her steps in and go. turning around to give miles a handshake, she glanced over, noticing you in the corner. not wanting to be rude, you just gave a wave. she gave you a small smile until taking off down the stairs. 

once she left, jeff also left to return to the party leaving miles, rio, and you behind. miles ignored both of your presence and leaned against the railing, shoving his face into his hands. you went up to miles and rubbed his back.

“i’m sorry miles,” he glanced over at you and gave a sigh. you looked over you shoulder and looked at rio. she seemed to be thinking. deciding to give miles and his mom a little time to talk, heart to heart, you descended down the stairs. 

looking down at the city below you, millions of thoughts run through your mind. almost all of them being about miles. you wanted to help him, you wanted to be there for him in every way, but you just don’t seem enough. you didn’t know what to do and you don’t want to try to seem understanding when you have absolutely no idea what he’s going through. you just want him to feel at peace with you. there’s nothing you want more in the world than seeing miles happy. although the feeling in your stomach of knowing that miles’ happiness lies with gwen and not with you just made you nauseous, you knew you had to let him go. but, before you let him go… maybe you’ll try. 

seeing miles and his mom done talking, you see miles about to leave. getting a feel of adrenaline through your veins, you ran after him before he managed to take a step down the stairs. 

“miles! where are you going?” you cocked your head to the side.

“i’m going after gwen. there’s something going on and i’m going to follow after her,” he tapped his feet and glanced around as if he’s if a rush. 

“wait, miles what? you’re leaving? do you even know where you’re going?” 

“no, but i know that i’m needed y/n. i gotta go now like i have this feeling.” 

“wait so you’re skipping out on your dad’s celebration for a girl?”

“n- no! there’s something going on and i need to fix it” miles was starting to squirm eager to put on his suit and swing through the city.

“is there gonna be a day where you live for yourself? i understand that you’re spiderman and you help out the people, but you can’t be doing this constantly miles. you’re a highschool student and have so m-” 

“no, you don’t understand! no one understands! but there are people out there who will-”

“c’mon miles, don’t be like that. i know i don’t exactly understand because i was bitten by a spider or anything, but i’m trying to understand through you and being there for you!” the tone in your voice starts getting a bit higher.

“i just learned that there’s a way for me to see other people who are just like me! i need to go!”

“you know what miles? go. i’m trying so hard to be supportive but-”

“well you’re not. i don’t want to escalate this any farther. i’m going… bye y/n” before you could respond miles ran down the stairs leaving you with a lump in your throat. you didn’t want to start anything, you just wanted miles to try to get a piece of normality within his crazy spider life. 

sighing once more, you decided to sit on the ledge and look off into the distance wondering how you were gonna fix it between you two.

The vampire diaries is sooo mf complex like I hate the fact that basically if I want to rewatch it? I have to binge it, actually pay attention, and watch through delenas insufferable relationship. I hate Damon, I only have a sexual liking towards his character but no emotional kind of connection, respect, or liking towards him. Damon throughout that whole show was a piece of lowlife shit to me, especially killing Vickie. Vickies death was low asf to me and for literally no reason ESPECIALLY THE ABUSE ON CAROLINE. Everyone takes his good moments and his shots at redemption as this save all as if that suddenly puts all the lives he’s took and ruined in the past or even in the present goes away and just becomes forgiven for all his monstrous actions. “He’s a villain that’s what he’s supposed to do” SOME PEOPLE DONT LIKE VILLIANS and I don’t like Damon as a “villain”. To me he’s more an anti hero or just a bad guy with mental issues but if we’re gonna put his actions towards the villainy route then so be it. I LOVE villians mind you, they’re smarter than the protagonist usually and have really good reasoning for being the way they are or doing what they’re doing. But Damon? Was pure revenge and spite. He said it himself he was gonna make Stefan’s life a living hell for forcibly turning him but I feel Damon went completely overboard with everything he’s did throughout season after season after season. It never stopped, he never stopped taking the good things and people Stefan had away from him, he never stopped abusing ppl until like last minute, he manipulated woman and so much more. And let’s not talk about how everytime Elena “rejected” him or made him upset? That always ended in a body dead the next couple of days PLUS HIM LITERALLY SNAPPING JEREMYS NECK BECAUSE ELENA REJECTED HIM. Was that not enough? Like idk it’s just fucking delusional to me how Damon fans love to act like he’s a saint or him redeeming himself suddenly makes up for the shit he’s done. it does not. he still kept doing these things. He’s done a lot of good and I see that, Damon is capable of caring, loving, protecting, and being loyal to people but he can be an absolute monster WAS an absolute monster, and I don’t think any of the things he’s done that were supposed to redeem him? Did it for me. It didn’t, it doesn’t make up for anything he’s done in my eyes it’s as simple as not accepting an apology. There’s a good man in there but where was he when he was out doing the bullshit he was doing? Hurting people? Abusing women? Manipulating them? Attacking tormenting and hurting his own family? No where. “I’ll admit it took Elena for me to actually wanna do right by people” and that’s the saddest most fucked up thing he’s could’ve ever admit to. random thought but pounder, blayde, splitter, and SNOWBLAZER deserved so muchh better in the show like writers did them dirtyyyy yknow

i was really hoping blayde would get some sort of redemption, like girl gets traumitized by d-structs to the point she lives in a practical kill or be killed mindset its just... sad

and then the show just discards her like its nothing

out of all of the evil trio (pounder, splitter, blayde) she deserved redemtion THE MOST

now onto pounder, to be honest there isnt really much to go off of for pounder, he dosent talk and there isnt really much backstory given to him at all (unless you think that the pounderwhatevrthefuckthespeicesnamewas that attacked skya when she was a child is the same pounder as the one in the present of the show but frankly i really dont think thats the case)

but there was a few moments i was really latching onto for a bit of even an idea of the chance of redemption or even just some sort of backstory

Ty & the gang in the pounder episode dont even really give a second to even try to talk (which is usually the first and foremost for Ty.) like they tried with splitter and blayde. Skya (if i can remember the episode right) insists that theres just "no reasoning with a pounder" and idk, it just gets me thinking did pounder ever really chose that life or was it just preditermined (like in the way that you can see at the start of the seires all the diffrent trux fleeing from the sight of a singular t-trux, but unlike the path that Ty took which was finding trux who would listen and care, but maybe (and these are just extreme headcanons and speculation btw, take this with a grain of salt) pounder just gave up and accepted that thats just how people are gonna act and hes gonna chose to live up to that villian role)

and as for an actual chance at redemption, while on the surfuce you might think theres absolutley no chance at all, i have seen a few cracks just in pounders general character, not huge ones, but just little things that show character.

compared to splitter & blayde, pounder is much less agressive, (when not directly in combat with Ty & co.) he usually lays low when alone with his team and kinda just waits for his moment, and he never really fights with splitter or blayde (until that last scene with them, but even then he initillally trys not to fight with the other two and just lay back from it all, even opting to protect blayde from a rock that one of the other two (idk i forgor..) threw at her, (until blayde turns that back on him which only then hes pulled into fighting)

i could definetly see a situation if with the right push and right people he could get some sort of semi-redemption

or this might just be me overanylizing pounder cause i despretly want more pounder content

as for splitter, i guienuinly dont know about any sort of redemption at all, do i think itd be entirely out of the question for him, maybe not??? but as shown in the show hes very stubborn and hard headed, but even with there being no chance for redemption with his current character i definitly wouldve liked to see more with him.

and more with the evil trio in general, all their stories were cut way too short.

(if you guys have any ideas about what you think a good redemption route for splitter could be, please tell me cause i really dont have any ideas on this)

now this is entirley self indulgent becuse yes i know theres no logical reason to see her again as she was just a one off character

the show introduces this character that lives all alone for god knows how long in the middle of snowy nowhere and has been so isolated that she talks to A ROCK SHE THINKS IS ALIVE

that is not like the occasional visitor or travler isolation to get to that state that girl must have been in COMPLETE ISOLATION FOR YEARS AT A TIME

and i dont even think thats bad writing, infact i found this part about her character very interesting

no, the thing that infuriates me is the fact that afyer that episode, after the gang leaves her there, she is not shown ever again, she is not mentioned ever again, shes not even REFRENCED. which just gets me thinking, shes probably still living out there all by herself talking to a goddamn rock with no compony or anybody around for MILES

im seeing way too many theories about callum being ONE of the bodies. the other will be a villian(they confess to murdering the villian but callums body will be hidden and turn into a missing persons story. what i dont get is why would kathy willingly support this and watch ben suffer. kathy loved callum from the start and saw how callum brought the goodness out of ben, would she really cover up his death? rewriting character history for a plot looks silly.) . callum, jay and martin keep popping up as the good guys that might die. they say callum will be outside the vic and hears a confrontation which then has him entering the vic.

when i think about this year, callum has been erased during the pr plot and basically acting like ben is a single dad, he has no pr of lexi and will never get to adopt(as one of the writers on twitter said jay having pr is staying as lexi is allowed more than 2dads), the 'ben and jay' as dads being constantly pushed, lexi being referred to as jays daughter weeks before xmas, no updated promo pic for callum etc. the producer never mentions callum when talking about ben,lola,jay etc. its like hes making it clear that he wants to dispose of callum.

would eastenders really kill off a partner of bens for a second time especially when hes in therapy now? and its not like callum is some boyfriend hes his husband and lexis stepdad. would they really go there???

the executive producer seems to want to keep ben,jay and lexi on the square and seems to have an issue with callum as a character. idk i know none of us can predict but the callum theories are too much and its never ending. people also saying there has to be a coincidence for his increase in screen time this year.

i would be sick if the show wants to add more trauma to ben and lexi.

Ruin and Musicals

In the interview with Ruin, the MOMENT he said he liked Cats I got so happy. I wanted his favorite song! Who's his favorite character? It's possible, though, that he only said that to rile Monty and Puppet but I still kinda hope that he actually does love the musical. Anyway, before he revealed his plans I thought his story was very close to Grizabella. The other cats don't trust her due to probably something in the past and she just wants to be accepted. "I was hoping we could be friends." So I made this comic with Ruin singing Memory, however never finished it due to losing motivation lol.

I also tried to do a little animatic through tiktok. It's a little out of sync first half lol. I also have another anjmatic through Flipaclip but I dont know yet how to add that lol. Once I figure out I'll either reblog this post or make a new post for it

At some point I got reminded of the song Hurricane and...yeah it fits. Ruin and Hamilton came from destroyed homes and changed how people viewed them from a single act.

In general, I find it interesting the connections between him and the musicals he's connected to. Cats Grizabella connects well to his facade and Hamilton Hamilton fits his backstory and decision. I wonder what musical might fit him currently.

Also something kinda funny, the villian in Cats is Macavity, "a ginger cat who's very tall and thin" and he uses magic. Eclipse now has magic...hmmmmm. Inspiration perhaps XD

Also "his powers of levitation" and the fact Eclipse levitates to think lol. I know it's probably a coincidence but it's funny.

finally İzuku became the #1 hero.like his childhood dream like all might.

he was helping everyone showing the light to the villians everything was perfect.

his father always helped him. after rescuing shigaraki from all for one , he came back.

first there was the sound of a glass breaking then ı banged my head .shock is still in my mind when ı opened my eyes.

“where am I?!”

ı took off the medicine mask from my mouth when ı looked around, the room was dark, the green color illuminated the room a little.the air was so thin it made me cough.

İzuku realized at that moment was that his arms and all his hardwork is gone.

Alarms go off everthing flashes red. he panicked . his heart are moving with alarms. he was choking on his choughs.

he could hear so many foot steps.

I closed my eyes.someone took me in their arms.

“dont run away my bunny.”the voice was so soft and deep.

“ dont be afraid you eill be fine now, daddy is got you”a hand started drawing a circle on my back.

“dad?”

I slowly opened my eyes and saw my fathers face softened with worry.

“yes ducky.” he started caressing my head.

“why am ı here and what hapened to my arm-“ı looked at him scarred.

“hush little one… Im sorry about what hapened to you.ı couldnt stop it”he frowned.

its like the moment my mom found out ı was quirkless.

Tears were threatening to fall from my eyes.

a hand wiped my tears as they fall”dont cry bunny.its all over, dad is here to take care of you.”

he started rocking me back and forth slowly at the same time.

my stomach growled. I was so ashamed.I had ignored it until now.

“hmm.. you look hungry. would you like something to eat?”he chuckled.

When a nice smell hit my nose,I immediately looked up.

he started to feed me. “did you like it?”

“taste… good”I spoke with my mouth full.

when ı looked up he looked very happy.

By the time ı finished eating I was feeling better…. and sleepy.A yawn escaped my mouth.

I leaned against my fathers chest as he took me to bed.I could hear his heartbeat. I soon fell asleep.

Now he would either escape or act like nothing happened.But İzuku can’t do this anymore.

he saw a table at the distance.

Unfortunately nothing was able to used with this arms.Than he saw the photo of him sleeping on the edge of the table.

I hit a tank when I tried to run away quickly.

“kacchan?!”I screamed in shock.

All of my friends in there.

“ ah, bunny. did you see something you shouldn’t have found?”devil smirked.

I opened my eyes with fear.

“what did you do to them?!”I yelled at him.

NIMONA IS SO GOOD GO WATCH IT AND IF YOU HAVENT READ THE COMIC GO READ THE COMIC THEN WATCH THE MOVIE.

Anyway from here on im talking about the movie so spoilers ⚠️

God, as soon as nimona walked in i could see the trans/queer allegory it was going for, i knew it was there but god, so many moments that i related to, so many moments that i saw things happening now play out in the movie, and looking back to the comic, happened even stronger in the comic as well.

First off, when ballilster and ambrosius were in the bar together, them eventually fighting over whos the real villian calls me back to every argument ive seen in the queer community.

It calls me back to the arguments over whether or not people are valid, whether or not they belong, the exclusion, the blaming parts of the community for being the reason that people hate us.

The gay and lesbian terfs, the truscum trans people, ace exclusionests, biphobia, demonizing exploration of labels, telling someone theyre horrible for using labels that are conflicting or confusing.

All of these things were what i saw in the scene. And it was profound, because it came back to *who the real enemy was*

Ambrosius to me seems like the people who exclude, and Ballister seems to be the people who, even if they dont understand, try and learn and accept, and seeing their argument, each thinking the other were brainwashed is so interesting. In this allegory, the director of the institute is representing the queerphobes, the ones who want to kill us, to have us not exist. Nimona on the other hand, is us queer people living to our fullest. She doesnt make sense, she confuses people, she doesnt explain what she "is" and there are a bunch of other ways shes highly relatable but thats off the point.

Of course we know that Ballister is the one with the correct information, he knows that the director is the enemy and is hurting all of them (or killed the queen, im using both comic and movie here ig) but ambrosius, even if he is suspicious, doesnt want to believe it. Hes been "accepted" by the institute, but as we know soon, (in the comic at least i havent fully finished the movie) the institute drops him, casting him out, because nimona was never the villian. The institute never cared about either of them, and as soon as the wolves stopped finding him useful, they ate him.

I love this movie.

Bakugou stans are even mad with Izuku too OMG, they're like "b.. bu.. but Midoriya didn't want to save Tomura before the vestiges". Midoriya got the same shit from the villian stans for not understanding Tomura and from the hero stans for thinking only of saving him. Therefore the Bakugou stans should suck it up and accept what is happening now, it isn't Horikoshi's fault that they made their own canon where Bakugou is some kind of sweet and empathic human being who was going to be the one who would help Midoriya understand that Tomura was being hurt by society or that he understands how hard it is to be discriminated against by hero society.

Accept it Endeavor and Bakugou are the same their story is only going to repeat itself at this point, the heroes are going to lose to Tomura as Endeavor lost to AFO for the simple fact that their reactions are going to make everything worse, Horikoshi decided that only Shoto, Uraraka and Midoriya have a greater understanding of the villains enough to generate some empathy towards them even if that understanding doesn't mean absolution for their actions, Bakugou and the rest of class 1a don't understand it, surely they will understand it in the long run but not now. However, if Bakugou's big moment is realizing that he screwed up as Endeavor with AFO, then Horikoshi is finally going to be right and the antis might actually expect a little more from the character and if he adds to that rubbing past mistakes like he did it with Enji possibly even make me feel bad for Bakugou.

All of this. Shoto has a very personal reason wanting to safe dabi - he is his brother! I think thats the only connection between a hero and a villain that bakugou would actually get. Ochako trying to safe toga or espicially izuku trying to safe shigaraki is something bakugou wouldnt understand. He still doesnt get that villains need saving too! Dont get me wrong what the lov did to so many innocent people is unforgiveable and it would be absolutely unfair to all their victims if shiggy, touya, toga, spinner etc. just get a second chance and a happy ending after all the terrible things they did. But there is still the problem that all of them are victims of hero society, which plays a big part why they ended up the way they are. As long as hero society will not change to the better and reform, more people like the lov will be created by it. Its a never ending circle. To the heroes of the current hero society villains are just bad people that need to be stopped under all costs or even killed. To some extent thats understandable because villains like afo, the lov etc. are akin to terrorists. They need to be stopped. The problem is that the heroes dont try to get rid of the problem by the roots - the reason WHY people end like villains! And the reason for that is how hero society is oppressing people who arent part of the norm (people with "villain" quirks, mutant quirks, weak quirks, quirkless and even try to tell non hero people that they arent allowed to use their quirks - by that stealing a part of peoples freedom). Non hero people arent even allowed to use their quirks to help someone who is in danger, because thats a heroes job! Thats why their society clings so much to the hero ideology and nobody thinks on his own anymore. Thats why nobody helped little tenko when he needed it. Because thats a heroes job afterall.

And bakugou like many others, still thinks the way hero society wants him to think. Villains cant be victims, villains need to be stopped under all costs, even killed if there is no other choice, villains are the problem and not what turned them into villains in the first place (hero society), there is no reason to feel sympathy with villains, because they dont have feelings. Bakugou has still the same mindset like all the old pro heroes. They believe in what hero society told them to believe. He still lives in the past and sees the problems in others and not the ideology he believes in. But to be fair, the only "new heroes" so far who seem to understand that hero society isnt perfect are izuku, ochako, shoto and I would argure iida. I dont see this realization in the rest of class a including bakugou, most likely because non of them has his own personal villain foil, he learns to understand over time.

The fact that bakugou has no own villain foil, the fact that he doesnt see a reason why he should feel sorry for them, his trust in the old ways, his own ego and desire to become the nr 1 hero which blind him from the real problems of hero society and people like him, is the reason why he is still so far behind izuku, ochako and shoto when it comes to "changing hero society for the better." Thats why he goes for the kill against shigaraki!

He still doesnt get what izuku, ochako and shoto do! That a hero safes everyone, including villains. That izukus desire to safe everyone including villains makes him a true hero and him not, because right now current bakugou would never safe a villain! He still only gets the "win to safe" part and not the "safe to win" part. Izuku has learnt to understands both over time!

I LOVE 9-1-1- !! Where dya think I got the name Evan from! I used to use Buck as a shorterning of the name Buckley for,,,,reasons. Now its Buck short for Buckshot, But evan is one of my favourite names that I use! The new series has already made me cry and we're only two episodes in. I keep seeing everyone getting really upset about coma!Buck and I dont understand it, I think it was done correctly and so personally. People really focus on love like its a one-sided romantic thing and 9-1-1 taking the twist on that to focus on the fact that Buck saved Bobby because in all honesty, Buck showed Bobby what it was like to love again and not only love himself again but to love a child who never had that father figure.

Buck figuring out to be happy. He just has to be buck. and Buck will always BE ENOUGH BECAUSE HE IS HIM! Is so fucking important. Being told something youre entire life/something that alters you entire life, like how buck was nothing but spare parts that screwed up, has so affect on a person. Buck started to believe that, the villian of his coma dream being his own anxiousness/inability to accept that he's enough and that he doesnt have to fix everything and that he didnt fail his brother or his family, he was just a child.

I have to rewatch the episode to get like a GOOD grasp on it because I spent half the time sobbing over it. But I am kinda glad we didnt get Buddie this episode. We got the fire fam mourning someone who now is such an intergral part of it, it doesn't feel whole. Sure eddie was the one who outwardly mourned the most [not counting bobby here because god I have never wanted to just cry more] Maube ill do a breakdown on the episode and see the hate fill my inbox because Im happy that they focused on fathers and on familys and on moving on.

The entire theme of closure in that episode and closure not being like a one and done thing- its omething that takes time and is gonna hurt and youre gonna feel like youre pulling teeth and its gonna feel hopeless and useless and terrified but at the same time its gonna be so rewarding at least a little bit, small things like bucks mother measuring the floor for a counch so her son is comfortable NOT so his house looks complete mean so much to people who have had parents/caregivers not care or not outwardly show them love. Chim lettign his father stay a few more days because he knows that the relationship the two of them have is shattered, he doesnt wanna pass that onto Jee. He may be her father but that doesn't mean that she has to get his rage in her bloodstream. Trauma shouldnt be passed down through generations, but it is. But its also possible to stop that cycle.

as someone whose had a relationship with his mother much like chim and his father. Seeing the "I dont forgive you but im not going to make my daughter hate you the way I do. She isn't me, I am not her." is so heartbreakingly calming. Moving on isn't always accceptance. Sometimes its just, getting used to their presence again.

Reviews while I watch Trigun Stampede: Episode 10-12

So I have started getting spoilers because tiktok has decided to give me dozens of trigun episodes. So I have to watch this before I get major spoilers. 

Let’s go! I will be sad when this is over. But atleast more is coming out. Yay!

I can’t remember how the last episode ended. 

Evil corporation backstory time. 

Shmancy city. 

He shneeze and they get spotted. Love it. 

What happened to his arm? I still don’t think we know. 

He really took that shot like a champ. Damn. 

Scarred boi. It looks so much harsher than most reveals like that. I like it. 

This man has a saviour complex.

Music. Ominous but pretty. 

Oh god. The new one will kill everything. 

Shame. She’s still just trying to figure out her life. 

Yissus her music i fucking creepy. 

Boss man is going to die. 

She does not like Wolfwood in the slightest. And Vash and Wolfwood go into the trap. 

She no longer creepy. 

Called it. He dying. 

Oooo. The use of her name is damn powerful. And this is why you don’t use names.

Meryl is going to go on a revenge streak now.

I feel like Wolfwood is going to die. 

And so the brothers are reunited.

Finale

The vines released her. 

Did she really just waste the two bullets? All the setup for tat? 

She has more bullets apparently.

Wings! Those are so cool. 

His hair has changed. Similar to his og design. I like it. Also love how all the colour has turned to essentially a black and white. Other than the cube. 

Wolfwood is back!

Midair fight. 

HE GETS A WING TOO! Also the wings are on opposite sides. 

He couldn’t save them. 

Superpowered gun. 

Oooo. Pretty lights. 

Wolfwood is concerened about Vash. Sweet. 

The brother is going to die. Then the other one will end up being the main villian. 

Both want peace. But one wants peace through eradication and the other wants peace through acceptance. 

Vash cries. 

Why do they have such a goofy running scene in the middle of this extremely emotional moment. 

Trauma. 

This is surprisingly graphic. And yet he still just wanted them to live together in peace. 

Set up for part two. 

Nooooo. Not the music.

So Meryl is getting a newbie mimiking the start of the show. Wolfwood is nowhere to be seen. And Vash has forgotten everything again, other than the music again. Ahhhhhhhhhhh. This next season is going to be so damn painful. I cannot wait. I’ll probably watch the OG show and read the manga when I get the chance between other shows.

I seriously don’t understand why people don’t like sword and shield.

Like okay, I was one of those people who didn’t like it initially for the whole dynamax thing. I remember watching the trailer and being like “omg this is so stupid, first it’s mega evolution, then z moves, now THIS?!” And Yanno what? I still am not too big on it, but damn, it’s such a small thing. You don’t NEED to do it to win. And the raids are OPTIONAL.

Also, the exp candy. I also complained about this when I first heard of it. It’s super overpowered. Personally, I don’t think we should’ve been allowed to earn them until AFTER the game was completed, but that’s just me. End game tho, it’s GREAT. I love not having to grind all the freaking time to raise new Pokémon. And sure, sometimes it is LESS fun, but sometimes I get really pissed off from constantly dying. And you don’t have you use them all the time anyway, so 🤷 getting your shinies to level up is so much more easy

And about that, they’ve made it more easy. So what? That’s been a thing for years. I mean, in the older games, poison types could get POISONED for gods sake. And poison hurt your Pokémon OUSIDE of battle! But they took that away and made it easier. They made the exp share actually DO something! I played Platinum and it NEVER helped me. I basically just farmed the old fashioned way cuz it was less annoying. Fly makes the game easier too. Or what about roller skates? Bikes? Imagine someone being like I don’t like the bikes in game cuz they make the game go by SO MUCH quicker. That just sounds dumb!

And besides, I’ve realized why it’s so much different from other games.

It’s more story based

It’s less about the gameplay and more about the struggles. It’s trying to humanize its characters and make them more lovable, with wants and flaws and insecurities! Hop is literally one of the best rivals in the whole franchise because he feels so HUMAN. He gets discouraged and sad, angry, WAY too serious, and hates himself for being awful. And bede? Hes an asshole, but he does change a bit for the better. He Mellows out A LOT. And he has depth, and a BACKSTORY. And even the “bad guy” wasn’t actually evil. He was just a sweet guy with good intentions, but he did bad things. Unlike in X and Y with Lysandar, who was supposed to be a twist villain or something. Rose WAS a twist, but a good one. Tbh, I thought Oleana was the villian. Lysandar was a bad twist villian cuz he looked stereotypically evil and even resembled team Flare. It’s was kind of obvs with him

Now the game isn’t perfect, but all of you Gen Oners out there are hating on it for no good reason. Y’all need to give up that 151 is where it should have stopped, mewtwo is the best legendary, and that all new games SUCK. Cuz THEY DONT. You guys suck. Y’all just need to be more accepting.

well here's some random thoughts/notes on my rewrite

-i havent actually read very many of the comics yet, so my knowledge of triton is still very limited, and i have no idea what to do with him. i dont want any of the royal family to die too fast, as the first "issue" i feel should focus more on vox and his massive killing spree, and should be free of any "important" deaths taking that spotlight away. so i dont want to keep triton's role the same, buuuut he i might still have him be the first big death. any triton fans have thoughts on this?

-alongside this, i also want signficantly more death. even though a lot of inhumans do technically die, the bulk are random unnamed ones never heard from before and never to be heard from again. i want named inhumans, actual characters, to die, and i want it to very clearly matter and have an effect on the characters. hell, have them go to earth, kill off daisy, iso, kamala, ect. it's called death of the inhumans, but only like.. 7 actual inhuman characters die. everyone else is just a hoard of nameless faces.

it's more of an "oh shit, thats a lot" moment to me and less of an "oh shit, the kree are commiting genocide." because these arent characters any of us know. 11,000 unnamed inhumans dying is horrible, but it certainly isnt written that way imo. so i want more added to these deaths, so that the title actual feels warranted. the actual comic is more of an "a couple thousand random guys die, i guess, but that sort of happens all the time in marvel, and its not even the main motivator for any characters by the middle" kind of thing.

-maybe new arctilian shouldn't be destroyed immediately. maybe that should be apart of bolt's "turning point", perhaps a little bit later, so that it holds more weight. the entire city is destroyed, and post issue 2, i dont think it's ever mentioned again? their entire city was collapsed and every single person living there murdered, and it's not really presented as being a huge deal. that should be a huge fucking deal!!

-i'm also very conflicted on maximus. as ive said, if this is death of the inhumans, i believe in going all in. this is death of the inhumans. not survival of the inhumans. not death of some inhumans. DEATH OF THE INHUMANS. but there's a part of me that very strongly wants maximus to live. now obviously im biased because im very, very attached to him - but if there's one trope i despise, its killing off a character as a form of redemption, and im worried having maximus go out would play into that. if maximus dies, i want him to die protecting someone or something.

but on the other hand, maximus is a very conflicted character, who's subtexually at worse and outrighted stated at best, mentally ill. he's dealt with a lot, jumping between villian to anti-hero, but around 2016/2017 onwards, he's basically always written as generally well-meaning, a bit of a socially-inept pain in the ass, but overall not an antagonist. even before this he's been written as someone willing to work with the heroes. at the time of death of the inhumans, maximus seems to have found a place where he accepts himself and his family, and the lot have worked out their problems.

to kill him off seems... incredibly and unnecessarily cruel. he's a character that's spent basically his entire life miserable and isolated. allowing him to just finally be happy, just to rip it all away and torture him relentlessly? it really rubs me the wrong way.

i despise how his comic death is entirely preventable, terrifyingly graphic, and yet could be removed from the comic and not much would really change. his death doesnt seem to impact any of the characters almost at all, if they react to it in the first place, and it doesnt really advance the plot, either. karnak could easily have pieced together vox taking their powers without seeing maximus' corpse. it could have been triton, causing a much more severe reaction out of karnak, seeing as he would have just killed his brother. it could have been any inhuman karnak knew, hell, it could have been like "that's my father's daughter's cousin's nephew" for all i care, the point is, maximus dying doesn't matter in the source material.

i am a firm believer in killing only for a reason, and having characters exist in the first place only if they serve a purpose. they must advance the characters, or the plot. if it doesn't do either of those two things, then what's the point? so to have maximus be so utterly useless in the story that he could be removed, with minimal edits to dialouge, and absolutely nothing would change? now look im no professional writer or anything, but like,,,, come on.

so if maximus must die, he absolutely must die doing something. it's very crucial to me that his redemption prior to this story is apparent. it's very important to me that his death means something his family. i want him to have more screen time, so that it's obvious he's a hero character, so that his death really hits. i think the best option is him dying protecting one of these family members, to really set in stone that he's putting then first, that he cares about them more than ruling or being right. i just can't decide who he should protect.

medusa feels too easy to me, as he's been written as having a thing for her too many times. karnak and gorgon don't feel right emotionally. triton, perhaps, as i think they might have a kind of bond - maximus did build that breathing mask for him, so they clearly care for and trust each other. but that would depend on what i do with triton. but personally, im torn between crystal and blackagar. crystal would tie in more to the comic, since maximus dies in the same scene he's trying to protect her - to have him die actually protecting her would be a quick change that still keeps the original writer in mind. but on the other hand, having maximus die protecting blackagar is very obviously the best option. predictable, hell yes, but to have maximus, someone who's spent years upon years fighting against, exiling, imprisoning, and attempting to kill his brother, finally learn to accept him, and have his last action be saving him, because he's learnt to let go of all that? to have him completely not give a single shit about possibly being king, to ignore the chance in his hands, because he only cares about his brother's safety? it would be a hard stance on proof of maximus' redemption, so im very fond of the idea.

-and onto the idea of maximus dying protecting him, i want bolt to really be effected by maximus' death, and blaming himself for his death is certainly a way to do it. the narrative of bolt feeling pushed and incredibly angry would work way better, i feel, if his final tipping point was maximus' death. it doesn't feel like that at all in the comic, even though vox keeps narrator-dumping about it, because it happens so early on. i want blackagar to give more than one tiny try at diplomacy and talking to the kree, but his every attempt drives a further wedge, and vox kills more and more. killing maximus (and kidnapping lockjaw/crystal?) would happen way later, and would act as the final straw, before blackagar is overwhelmed with grief and does his giant murder spree.

-also, for the love of god, stop forgetting their kids!! the comic SHOWS ahura and luna, so it's even more absurd that absolutely nobody worries over them. literally just change crystal's reasoning for going to earth. no avengers, she just wants to see her daughter. perhaps after bb gets kidnapped (if i keep that), medusa talks to ahura, if we really dont want to go to earth. and if the earth inhumans are dead, having ahura and luna's names listed by black bolt would add another huge punch to the gut. that scene would have absolutely slaughtered me if he were the last one alive. can you imagine if bolt did that while naming all his lost family, completely alone, and giving absolutely no shit because he wants nothing more than revenge, even if it kills him, because what has he to lose?

-if vox is going to gain the powers of those he "kills", then make him actually use them. seriously, does vox use more than lockjaw and bolt's powers?? they mention crystal's powers, but i dont remember him using any elemental abilities. he definitely doesn't use anything not of the royal family's. maybe mine control would be useful when trying to capture a guy who is not invernable to mind control, but hey, why use maximus' power when you can... teleport people.... or not use any powers at all......
