A/N: Again, I know nothing about Pokémon, so I came up with something. I wrote this headcanon on my phone.

Masterlist

You had no Idea how you got to Pandora, you were in the forest searching for Pokémon to catch and now you were in a whole new world. You explored around a bit, then you came across a Thanator.

The animal seemed viscous and dangerous, perhaps you should run, but you were not going to run. You were going to catch this creature.

So you got out your pokeballs, ready to capture this creature. It was hard but you had manage to get the Thanator. You had no idea what kind of Pokémon that creature was, but you got it.

You also didn't know that you were being watched by a group of kids. While you were celebrating your small victory, three giant blue kids and a human popped out.

At first you didn't know what to do, but when you saw that they had kind intensions, you had introduced yourself.

Tuk was the first one to ask about the Pokeball and what it did to the Thanator. You told them that it how you captured pokemon. Then this lead to more questions.

What are Pokémon? What is a Pokeball? How can you do that? Where did you come from? You answered them all, telling them about the Pokemon and what your Pokeballs were able to do as well as other kinds of Pokemon that existed.

While you talked with them, you got to know their names. Kiri, Lo'ak, Tuk, and Spider. They also told you about their older brother Neteyam, but before they'd introduce you to him and his parents, they wanted to see of what your pokeballs can do.

So they took you to where the Ikran were and they had asked you if you could capture an Ikra, so you did. It was kind tricky at first but you manage to capture a banshee.

Afterwards they took you to the Village so that they could meet the other. Jake, Neytiri and Neteyam's first impression was "Where the hell did this kid come from?" but they couldn't answer since they had no Idea where you came from.

Then you explained to them that you were just in the forest at home then you popped up here. Then the kids told them about what you can do with your PokeBalls. Again you explained what Pokemon were also about how you're a trainer.

You also introduced them to your other Pokemon such as Sylveon, she was more of your companion but you had put her in a PokeBall so that she could rest.

You also introduced them to Mimikyu, Squirtle, Ditto, Bulbasaur, Snorlax, Charmander etc. You also explained how each Pokemon has their own ability as well as they're different type of Pokemon.

It was kind of weird to them at first, but they were very interested in learning about your Pokemon. Tuk really liked Mimikyu, Kiri liked Bulbasaur, Lo'ak liked Charmander, Neteyam liked Squirtle and Spider liked Ditto.

Jake and Neytiri were still weirded out by your Pokemon but they saw how useful they could be. When they found out you had captured a Thanator and A Banshee, they could not believe their eyes.

When the Sully kids were in Danger, you helped into getting them by using your Pokemon. You manage to get them back, except for Spider. It saddens you a lot not being able to save him.

You left with the Sully's with the Metkayina clan, when you arrived, you already planned on trying to capture an Ilu and a Skimswim.

Once settled in after being accepted, you went with the Sully kids to learn. You thought it would be a good idea to bring Squirtle, when the Metkayina kids saw your companion, they were too stunned to speak.

They asked you who he was and what he was. Again you explained to them about Pokemon and that you were a trainer.

Ao'nung and Roxto were weirded out at first, but Tsireya had been the most curious. When you introduced the Metkayina kids to the other Pokemon, they also were curious like Tsireya.

The Metkayina trio really liked your water based Pokemon. Tsireya liked Squirtle right away when she first saw him, Ao'nung liked Vaporeon and Roxto liked Quagsire.

Ronal and Tonowari were also weirded out by your Pokemon, but they learned about them and about you being a trainer. At first they saw them as a bit of a threat but you proved to them that your creatures were no harm.

Sylveon would always tagged along with you, she was a very lovable Pokemon who liked those around her.

The kids would approach her to play or feed her, she liked the attention of the kids, as well as playing with them for hours non stop.

You also manage to catch both an Ilu and A Skimswim. But when you saw the Tulkun, that was your next catch.

Any headcanons for the Porygon line?

Firmware updates are released for the line occasionally, so make sure to check your Pokedex to get the newest updates.

The line love to go in computers to explore cyberspace, and can help with file organization and viruses while they're in there. Avoid letting Porygon-Z near computers you're actively using though, as they tend to cause glitches.

Porygon and Porygon2 are the only Pokemon that have a copyright.

One of the easiest Pokemon to care for. The line doesn't breathe, doesn't need to eat, and requires no grooming.

They also have a helpful, placid temperament. Porygon-Z are a bit more erratic, but still perfectly friendly despite this.

The line cannot die from old age, though they can still pass away from illness/computer viruses or injury.

Porygon2 and Porygon-Z have a learning AI that makes them naturally curious. Proper enrichment is required to keep them content.

Various ROM hacks for the line exist, such as code that can make them shiny. It's recommend these are avoided however, as they could contain viruses.

Programmers are working on a Porygon3 update separate from the Porygon-Z update.

It's recommended you take your Porygon to IT places as well as Pokemon Centers to make sure it's properly cared for, as PCs can only treat physical injuries.

Porygon-Z has been known to clip through floors and walls on occasion and then not be able to figure out how to clip back through, so it's good to keep an eye on them when they're outside of their Pokeballs.

i always meant to ask but always forget, do Rohan's parents and/or Volo's parents have a pokemon team (or i guess pokemon partners since pokeballs weren't super around). All i remember is Volo's mom having a togepi

YEA they are all trainers in their own right! they kinda each have different views on what pokemon are to them

rohan's parents, especially his mother tamura, are the most highly skilled trainers of all my ocs, rivaled only by rohan himself. both his parents train pkmn that are similar in nature to themselves, so their bonds are very strong w their respective teams.

tamura (rohan's mom):

tamura is raised in a brothel by a doting and protective group of courtesans after her mother was murdered. she sees a lot of fucked up shit as a kid despite how her caregivers try to shelter her, so she has a really warped outlook on life. she also develops unrivaled ability as a swordswoman.....so she becomes this adult who loves nothing more than fighting men she finds handsome to the death. she has no remorse. she is a perpetual child playing a game and they're like toys to her. in what i headcanon as a warring-states-adjacent time period, i think tamura gets away with this for a while before she eventually has a bounty put on her head....but even then, this team of pokemon with extremely powerful hypnotizing abilities has been helping her escape punishment all along, and she's certainly not going to let herself be caught just because the government in johto is demanding it.

tamura GREATLY prefers the company of her pokemon to that of other people. her team are basically extensions of herself. she naturally bonds w ghost and psychic types.

her shedinja came from hansuke's ninjask.

hansuke (rohan's dad):

hansuke's team only seriously takes shape when he starts training under tamura; when he still had his family, his shelmet was his only pkmn, but after he lost everything in a bandit raid, he met zorua and ralts during his aimless job-seeking travels. his ralts was the the only one of his mons to fully evolve before he met tamura and served as a protector of him and the others, so they're all really close. each of hansuke's pokemon is a partner that he battles against, and after tamura dies and hansuke and rohan flee to hisui, hansuke and his team form an insular family unit, especially when he begins to realize that his son is distancing himself from him.

alexius (volo's dad):

alexius is a military general and his pokemon serve more war-time use vs being partner pokemon or pets. falinks and bastiodon are pokemon that would fight alongside him, while mudsdale could aid him both as a steed and to help move shit. gyarados and clawitzer would be for naval battle. staraptor could fight if it needed to as well, but would see more use delivering letters and transporting wounded soldiers. honest to god, i don't have much for alexius rn, but i am pretty confident that this would be his team. he isn't around much when volo lives in the celestican society.

cynthia (volo's mom):

it's not often that my headcanoned celesticans would become powerful trainers just for shits and giggles like people do in the modern day...inside their cities, they prioritize order, peace, and worship, so bigass pokemon swinging around knocking shit over is prob a no-no. that being said, smaller pokemon are everywhere in their cities and live alongside the ppl. and volo's mom is a kooky lady who pokemon just LOVE, so she especially is always surrounded by them (her son inherits this quality from her.) i think that volo and his mother cynthia are very close in his youth...he keeps her memory alive in many ways, and although he has very complicated feelings about her, he misses her badly. i think volo trains the pokemon he remembers from his childhood.

Adult headcanons for the Great Crater Gang

These are my headcanons for what the Great Crater Gang (MC, Penny, Arven, Nemona, and Koraidon) are like as adults. I played Scarlet as fem MC so I'm thinking of these headcanons in those terms. You can switch things around for Violet and/or male MC as needed. Warning for spoilers!

MC/Juliana

Continues Sada's research into Paradox pokemon

Doesn't work on getting more Paradox pokemon, but studying the ones that exist

Time machine is completely dismantled, and it's existence is hidden

The existence of the Paradox pokemon is known to the public, but their existence is explained as being untouched by outside factors so they didn't darwinistically evolve

Area Zero is still off-limits to most people though

Juliana also studies the Tera crystals

Determining what they can do, where they're from, etc.

(Second question will likely be answered in DLC)

Super careful with this research, don't want a repeat of AI Sada

Married to Arven; they have a kid together, Isabella

She asked for his permission to continue Sada's studies, since it was his mom's studies

But she went to Geeta first, since the Pokemon League seems to be roughly the equivalent of the government

Story and gameplay seperation: I don't think she caught any Paradox pokemon when first exploring the crater (I didnt) and she didn't return after like we can to catch them

So in her early 20s she catches the Paradox pokemon and starts studying them

She has a YouTube channel where she explains facts about the Paradox pokemon

Because of Arven's trauma of Sada's neglect and death, she makes sure to come home at the same time everyday, no matter what

Only in extreme circumstances would she stay latter

She and Arven live in Los Platos

Penny

Pokemon League and Naranja Academy's head of IT

One of the best hackers in the world

Since she's originally from Galar, she moved to Paldea upon graduating

Still a bit shy, but has an easier time talking to people

Still keeps in contact with Team Star

They meet up weekly for team dinners

Still loves Eevee

Tbh I don't have much to say about her

Arven

Home Ec teacher at Naranja academy

Teaches mostly cooking

Great at all types of cooking now

Sandwhichs are still his best

He worked at Kofu's restaurant for a while

Great teacher, he calls students "little buddy"

Helps and keeps an eye on students who have rough home lives

Doesn't want anyone else to grow up like he did

Mabosstiff is still going strong

Arven can often be seen walking Naranja Academy campus with Mabosstiff

Was a househusband for a while when Isabella was born

Random Wobbuffet Headcanons!

I honestly didn't think I'd have enough for him because even though I love him he's a pretty simple character but the more I thought about it the more I got, so here you go!

He was born in a cave with a bunch of other wobbuffet/wynaut, but didn't know his parents and was raised by the group. While grateful, he never felt anyone he could be particularly close to and had a natural curiosity about the outside world that the others didn't really have, which is why he said goodbye and wandered out of the cave

He was actually happy to be captured by Benny, even though he knew from the start that it would be temporary

Despite their rocky start he really does love Jessie and has occasionally thought of her as his "mommy" in a way. He's never said this out loud though because even he finds it kind of embarrassing (and she'd probably think hewas calling her old, anyway)

He's always thought that physically at least it would make more sense to have a wobbuffet shaped balloon, but he knows how much it means to Meowth so he doesn't say anything

He once tried to build up his counter by throwing rocks at himself to practice. Unsurprisingly, this didn't do anything

He once accidentally sprayed himself with Jessie's hairspray and got completely stuck. The rest of them had to carry him across an entire region to find the solvent

Like the rest of the group, he loves showtunes

- He also likes classical music too

- Most surprisingly, he loves hard rock, heavy metal, and anything else with a really heavy baseline because the vibrations make him wobble, and he likes that

While still patient, he's always been a little different from other wobbuffets in that he's very, very curious. It's why he keeps popping out of his pokeball, he likes to see what's going on around him

- Being with TR (and especially Jessie) only exacerbated these kinds of traits, he's still patient, but much more active in decisions, etc. then pretty much any other wobbuffet

Another reason for popping out is that after that first blast from Pikachu he realized that if he wanted to keep his new trainers safe he would have to build up his counter/mirror coat and was looking for opportunities to do that

- Well, that and he had to make sure he was there to deliver his comedic one-liner (all members of team Rocket are natural-born performers after all

He feels like a weird combination of latex and rubber but without the weird stickiness thankfully

- On that note, you can sometimes hear little squeaking noises when he moves or walks around

He likes hugs. A lot. He's like an overly-affectionate child

It doesn't matter if they're humans or pokemon, Wobbuffet loves kids. It's why he was happy Tobe trained by Benny and eager to adopt those wynaut

(I'm sorry if any of these contradict Canon I'm still not rven fully done with Johto again yet! If they do let me know!)

- Raichu is usually quite docile and kind to you, wishing to lay with you on the couch and receive your attention.

- But alone, your Raichu is threatening your Squirtle.

- How they could easily kick them out, show them their place because they're so much bigger and stronger than your Squirtle.

- Your Raichu wants nothing but them on your mind.

- You could go swimming, chill on the couch, snuggle with each other....

- Anything that involves you is fine.

- "Stay here on the couch with me~! We can chat!"

- When their obsession peaks, your Squirtle has disappeared and your Raichu is delusional.

- "We're the best together!"

- "You take so long to get home...are you at the beach without me!?"

- "Aren't we perfect together? Life is so much better with you as my trainer...."

- They never answer your questions about Squirtle.

- Raichu even prevents you from leaving the house, and anyone from coming in.

- Someone wants to visit you? Your Raichu is already at the door.

- "You don't belong here... leave."

- You regret meeting this Raichu.

- Quickly you're isolated to your home, a lovesick Raichu laying beside you.

- Electricity sparks from their cheeks, ears twitching as their face feels hot.

- "I'm so happy we met~"

- The Ice/Fairy type eyes the Pokeballs on your belt, humming.

- "You're looking right at one."

- You're confused at first before they tap at one of the Pokeballs on your belt.

- "Show me your team, trainer. Let me assess you."

- Their fighting style is graceful in the snow when fighting against your other Pokemon.

- They don't seem to have any malicious intent, even smiling gently at you as you show your strength

- Sooner or later they compliment your abilities and agree to join you on your journey.

- By the time Ninetales guides you down from the mountain, the Pokemon feels they made a good choice choosing to follow you.

- Probably due to being Fairy Type, your Ninetales actually gets along rather well with the rest of your team.

- Unless they're Dragon type

- With a double strength against Dragon, Ninetales feels superior to them.

- Why even have one on your team?

- Ninetales is Ice/Fairy, they could take down Dragons in seconds and not be scratched.

- Despite their distaste towards Dragon types they are rather calm.

- "I didn't know you had a dragon here, dear."

- They prefer manipulation.

- They saved you on that mountain.

- It would be a shame if you neglected them after they so willingly joined you.

- Ninetales is also strangely intimidating.

- Especially after reading their Pokedex entry....

- Any who anger it will be frozen solid

- But, they'd never freeze you in place for going against their wishes, right?

- They care for you as your Pokemon....

- They wouldn't dare hurt you, right?

- Maybe it was a mistake to take this Ice type with you....

Can you give us examples of overly bleak Pokemon headcanons? The one I dislike most is the one where boxes and/or pokeballs are basically jail/torture.

Like you said, any depictions of Pokemon being slaves or whatever are wack. This one's particulary bothersome because while most things are just headcanons, this one's just... wrong? Like I've written entire essays on this in the past, but the TL;DR is that we know canonically that Pokemon are free to leave their Pokeballs whenever, they like being with their trainers and battling, and they like being in their Pokeballs. I'm not saying fanfic has to follow canon obvs, but why would you want to look at a franchise about befriending cool monsters and go "lmao they're totally being tortured 24/7". like go outside

Other than that, there's like, a lot of overly dark headcanons about Pokeballs in general, many of which don't even make much sense from a worldbuilding standpoint. "if a Pokeball breaks, it kills the Pokemon inside!" bro wouldn't that just. release it? because it's letting the energy out, and also they would obviously be programmed that way for safety regardless? If Pokeballs were in constant danger of killing the Pokemon inside no one would use them. "if a ship sinks all the Pokemon end up trapped forever at the bottom of the ocean" bro just use a water type to retrieve them, there's no way they don't have built-in trackers. this is not complicated

There are also a weirdly high amount of fics where Pokemon get like experimented on/tortured/subjected to body horror that's just stupidly sadistic. I feel like XD was an example of how to handle this kind of thing well, where it's like "yeah these Pokemon were basically tortured by cruel people, that fucking sucks. good thing we don't have to see that on-screen and you're there to help them gently heal and get better!" Most grimdark fanfics just focus on the torutre part and not the healing part, which is the only way such a bleak topic works.

Also, excessively violent Pokemon battles. This is literally a public sport like boxing, there's a ref right there, if Pokemon were in danger of dying 24/7 they wouldn't want to battle and would just leave. A little blood or whatever is fine, but I feel like straight-up death and gore is really pushing it.
