“chann~~~” y/n lets out in her sing-songy voice as she calls out to her lover who’s legs are sprawled upon her thighs as she gently massages his feet, rigorous weeks of performances and endless hours of dance practice making his flatfeet hurt to the point that just walking seemed like it would require all the remaining strength in his body. The feeling of his lover’s tiny hands that he adores so much, especially when they are entrapped in his own, feel so relieving against the soles of his feet he sighs in relief and almost misses her calling out to him, but he refrains himself from losing focus.
His focus shifts back to where he was massaging the back of his lover’s neck and her shoulders, releasing the knots she’s gotten from her desk job. Chan relaxes against the bed’s headboard with y/n sat between his legs, massaging the feet that landed on top of her thighs when chan wrapped his legs around her waist. They both relish in the touch of the other, silent grunts leaving them as their tangle of limbs begin to limp slowly yet surely, but chan breaks out of his trance, remembering to answer back from behind her with a hum of acknowledgment urging her to continue.
“I was thinking~” y/n’s voice hasn’t lost its tone from earlier when she is suddenly interrupted by her boyfriend who’s ministrations stop temporarily as his hands drop down to her waist to pull her flush against him as he poses a question before she can continue,
“are you just thinking or are you thinking~ ?” chan lays emphasis on the last word. He’s repeating it in the exact same tone as hers from earlier and some sub-conscious part in the back of her head feels astonished over his musical talent in the most mundane of situations. She shifts her focus back to the situation at hand as she chuckles, turning her head back to look up at him in amusement, ‘what is that even supposed to mean?’
“well..” chan elongates the last syllable, ‘when you’re just thinking, its everyday stuff usually, you’re thinking about when to do the next grocery run, you could be thinking about going back to pilates, what you want to order for our next takeout night, you could be thinking of a purchase you need to make, a gift you want to buy, a call you need to make, electricity bills you know just everything normal, everyday stuff..” chan’s voice trails off as he detaches your hands from his feet and brings them into his, brushing his thumb over the back of your hand in silent appreciation for you.
“and what happens when I’m thinking?” y/n asks him, still a bit amazed about how her boyfriend had different interpretations of her saying the same thing, just with a slight change of tone.
‘when you’re thinking~” chan hasn’t let go of the exact same tone from before as he continues, “it can mean anything from a new hair color you want either of us to try or booking the both of us an impromptu trip to Hawaii without any money in your pocket. Its basically a wild card.”
The evening sun casts its pink-orange glow onto the couple wrapped up in each other’s arms, y/n finding her lover astoundingly beautiful under the hues cascading through their large windows. Her hands move up to his face, thumbs gently tracing his jaw, eyes not focused at anything in particular but still looking at what she believed to be the sum of all the love that the universe had planned to give her, packed and summed up into the man whose warm hold feels like her personal shield. y/n believes that even though the both of them have lives filled with people that carry so much love and joy in their hearts, its in the hearts of each other that they were made to find solace in. If soulmates existed and love was true, the light freckles under her lover’s eyes wrote love on his face in a language only they both could understand, a language that lived as long as they did, and would vanish into the void silently, peacefully with them.
“you’re zoning out on me again, pretty” chan’s soft reprimand brings her out of her trance. She shakes her head a little bit, as if physically shaking herself out of the floaty comforting headspace chan’s presence puts her in often. ‘want to tell me what you were thinking~ about, now?’
‘well you’re going to Japan next month, right?’ y/n asks, coming down slowly still,
‘I do, I wish I could take you along though’ chan’s words drift off into a small pout towards the end, pressing a kiss to his lover’s forehead. Parting from her made him sad and pouty to no end, but chan was quick to learn that y/n would always kiss his pouts away as a rule, almost. But it wasn’t chan if he admitted to using it against her to get more kisses, it was his own secret.
‘coming back to earlier, so, I was thinking~ what if…’ y/n trails off again, slowly noticing chan’s patience wearing off and watching him grow more agitated and it gave her the time of her life. y/n had a general struggle of keeping conversations quick and to the point, but maybe she did use it against chan because watching him grow agitated and whiny was amusing to no end, it was her own secret.
‘what if we get you a bigger carrier, your old one’s a bit wobbly no?’ y/n asks in all seriousness face now resting on his shoulder, and chan chuckles again,
‘is that what you were thinking all this while? And this one’s okay baby I don’t think I need a bigger one?’ chan has no idea again as to where y/n could be going with this but he goes along.
‘no because you see.. if we, if we get you a bigger carrier, maybe its going to make it easier to..’
‘to what, baby girl?’ chan asks again, voice softer, cooing at her almost
‘well its going to make it easier to carry all our stuff at one place because I might have got Changbin and Minho to convince your staff to bring me along and maybe let us stay for 2 more days after because its our anniversary?’ y/n says all that in a single breath and huffs out, eyes expectant and waiting for a response as nervousness pools in them.
‘no way..’ chan whispers to y/n, not wanting to say it too loud in case it was a dream and it would all go away if he was too careless talking about it. Chan’s still not believing it, even after y/n enthusiastically nodding at him, kissing his full lips again to make him believe that she was indeed coming along with him. He slaps himself mentally, both to wake himself up and also for not thinking about it earlier. Mischief pokes its head around chan’s brain again, because how did she come up with it before he could.
“and.. what if I said no? what would you do then? It is dangerous to do it, you know it too princess” her face falls almost entirely at his words and chan’s heart hurts seeing her reaction, but he’s perplexed when her face lights up again,
‘then I’ll just, I’ll just sit in your carrier, because there’s no way I pulled the amount of strings I did to just not do it.’ Chan splutters with laughter again, chest vibrating and body shaking at the memory of his dog doing the same to him every time he has to come back from home in Australia, and the visual of his girlfriend sitting with her legs folded in his carrier, doe eyes looking up at him with silent pleas, refuses to leave his head as he laughs more, squeezing her harder in his arms.
‘oh so you’re learning from berry now?’ chan asks as he wipes tears away from the corner of his eyes, stomach hurting from laughing that hard. y/n’s seriousness almost throws him in a laughing fit again but he refrains, a chuckle escaping him every now and then, awaiting an answer.
‘I can’t deny she has good tricks up her paws’ chan finally lets his second laughing fit escape him, wheezing at her words all over again.
‘you know what else berry is good at?’ chan asks as he slowly recovers, mischief now completely coming out to the forefront of his brain,
‘what is it?’
‘kisses, berry gives me sooo many kisses, you’ve barely given me any you know?’ chan pouts in fake annoyance again, crossed fingers hopeful that he gets what he wants,
‘oh you’re in for it bahng’ y/n says as she pushes him down onto the bed with her hands firm on his shoulder. She lies flat on top of him, aggressively kissing the entire expanse of his face. 'Finally' Chris thinks to himself, hands holding y/n down on top of him, pillowy lips against her, as evening faded into the night from their bedroom window, thankful to the stars twinkling outside, probably smiling down at them too.

hi ari!!!! hope you’re doing well!! 🐟🐟 these days the weather is so so nice and the sea is so tempting……………… i went ahead and took some days to swim like the fish i am! surprisingly the water wasn’t so cold and it seems i wasn’t the only one who thought of swimming because the beach was full of people 🙂‍↕️ it was really fun!
anyway!! i wanted to ask you, which films and/or cinematic universes you think your jjk favs would suit the most??? :33 if it is too restraining you can name tv series, of course!!
(p.s.: oh, i’m glad you liked my silly rant about statue!gojo TT 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼 it has been rotting in my mind for months now but i’m a procrastinator and i have too many wips… i think it might be that summer is near and i’m super inspired but i don’t know where to begin lmaooo. my notebook is overflowing with half-finished prompts and chapters that are waiting to be completed……. 😭😭) — 🐟 anon
HIIIII MY LITTLE 🐟 ANON!!!! :33
i’m so happy that it’s getting warmer where you are!!!!! the weather is starting to take a turn for the better here too hehe….. but wahhh!!!! beach trips!!!!!!! i miss them i do…. you’ll have to have double the fun for both of us!!! <3333
AND . GULP. that’s a super fun question and also super tough bc i don’t watch …. a lot of movies……… 😔😔 i’ve been watching more recently!!!! but honestly i have a lot of trouble remembering series and movies that i’ve watched….. my brain doesn’t store a lot of them. HOWEVER . yk what i do watch??? and adore????
……. musicals >:33
so here are some musicals that i associate w my jjk favs!!! I HOPE THAT’S OKAY… i got a little too into it i think 😭
gojo - legally blonde
I JUST THINK HE WOULD LOVE IT SO MUCH……….. i know him personally . honestly i would’ve given him the movie if i had followed your original assignment bc it just screams gojo to me either way!!!! i think he loves chickflicks. :3 and this is definitely one of his comfort movies…… the musical is also just SUCH a bop i knowwwww this man is terrorizing his coworkers by singing ”gay or european” in broad daylight (specifically to nanami)……
sugu - the phantom of the opera
THE PHANTOMMMMMMM OF THE OPERA IS HEREEEEEEEE 🎶🎶🎶🎶 …. <- sugu doesn’t sing along to musicals + doesn’t rlly like them that much in general but i know in my heart and soul that he would hum this part quietly to himself . what can i say….. this is just a very classy musical that i think would appeal to him <3333 he’d read the book beforehand too. he’s a lil pretentious but it’s okay :3 he’s veryyyy picky abt what musical renditions he enjoys tho…….
shoko - the guy who didn’t like musicals
MY PERSONAL FAVORITE MUSICAL OF ALL TIMEEEEE <333333 i just know she’d adore it. the blend between horror and comedy is soooo shoko and i feel like she wouldn’t like musicals at ALL lmao so she’d appreciate the meta commentary!!!! it’s just. suchhhh a good musical….. i love starkid so much it hurts………… AND THE WHOLE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE THINGGG she would eat that up!!!! pls watch this one if you haven’t 🐟 anon you can find the full thing on yt and it’s INCREDIBLE i’ve watched it like 10 times!!!! it’s my most beloved!!!!
kenny - beetlejuice
BEETLEJUICE 👏 BEETLEJUICE 👏👏 BEETLEJUICE 👏👏👏 okay so i actually lied this one is ALSO my absolute favorite . and i’m giving it to kenny solely based on vibes :3 HE REMINDS ME OF BEETLEJUICE OK…. and i think he’d love it a lot. the songs are so fucking good and i know he’d appreciate them. the theme of life/death is also very kenny obv !!!!
toji - black friday
ANOTHER STARKID MUSICAL. this one is just…… soooo good and funny and also . tragic. one of the characters reminds me a lot of toji :’3 former veteran w a dead wife…. who struggles to show his son how much he cares…… and the theme of capitalism and money and how it corrupts ppl also feels in line w toji’s character!! but above all else this musical is abt. Family. and that’s more toji than anything!!! :((( this is another musical that i rlly recommend checking out, it’s set in the same universe as the guy who didn’t like musicals but like . an alternate timeline. it’s not my favorite in the series but the songs slap and it made me cry so <3333 yeah.
nobara - heathers
was lowkey considering six the musical for my beloved nobara (bc of the gorgeous women and catchy fun songs) but . i think heathers fits her more!!!! i just feel like she’d ADORE it…… i know she’s singing along at the top of her lungs too LMAO especially to dead girl walking <3333 it’s just such a fun badass musical and i think she’d be obsessed. she does NOT like jd tho god bless 🙏🙏

“FEATURES” Acoustic Live Report
Yesterday, Hikaru was busy rehearsing for her upcoming acoustic live. Don't forget to tune in for today's live!! (Tweet by Hikaru | Tweet 2 by Hikaru) Following her first solo tour as freelance artist, Hikaru will be holding an acoustic live on March 17. It will be a live streaming concert so everyone can watch it. Hikaru will perform her songs from the album “FEATURES” ♪ Title: Stream LIVE “Hikaru Acoustic LIVE 2024 -FEATURES-” Date: March 17 (Sun)Time: 17:00~ Ticket sales start 🎫 2/10 0:00~ Ticket price: 3,500 (overseas credit cards accepted) Archive period: 7 days Link: https://musicchamp.page.link/PJByVDREEbTmdRf77 ※The ticket needs to be bought within the Music Champ app. Please download the app!
As always, I will do some live commenting as I watch the concert even though I am not too familiar with her new songs so I will probably not have a lot to say about them T_T Also not the biggest fan of an acoustic guitar-only accompaniment but that's a personal preference XD First things first, her shirt/blouse looks great, especially with the pearl necklace.
1.Flow: I recall not particularly liking the studio version. Can't say the acoustic arrangement has changed my opinion unfortunately. Still appreciate her vocals though. 2.Embrace: Very excited how this will turn out since I do enjoy the studio version quite a bit. Nice reverb effect. The verses sound amazing, obsessed with the way she sings the "mirai..." part. And the bridge with the “ai yueni…” is lovely. 3.Awe: "Embrace" and "Awe" back to back, YESSS! This honestly gets better every time I listen to it. Don't even mind when Hikaru gets a bit shouty because it works so well for this song. 4.Treasure: Meh... I'll admit that this doesn't do anything for me. Couldn't even remember listening to it before although I most definitely did. 5.Under the Rain: Ohhh, did not expect this song to make an appearance. Thought Hikaru would be focusing solely on her "Features" tracks for this acoustic live. Very happy. The chorus isn't my cup of tea but I love the melody in the verses. And the scene from the play will always be a personal favourite. Wow, the raspy voice Hikaru uses towards the end is pretty cool. Think this is my favourite rendition of the song so far. 6.Remain: Can't pinpoint what bothers me about the song but I am not a fan. 7.Escape: The acoustic version is better than the studio version I think. Not quite as chaotic. Still not my favourite. 8.Survivor: Feel quite nostalgic about Hikaru's first song as freelance artist. Solid performance. 9.奇跡/Kiseki: Still very fond of the melody during the instrumental section but the rest of the song is just okay I guess...Not even the lalala part works for me, it's a shame T_T

My Year in Gigs
Seeing as we're nearing the end of the year, I thought I'd look back on the amazing shows I've been lucky enough to attend in 2023 and resurrect my Post-Concert Depression with a definitive ranking 😅💚
Eurovision Semi Final One - Live Show: Absolute dream-come-true experience. Loved every minute, the crowd was so kind and supportive towards every act, and I got to see most of my faves steal the show and advance to the finals 🥰
Muse (Dublin) : My second Muse gig of the year was even more of a blast than the first! Absolutely nothing could have prepared me for the joy of finally seeing Butterflies and Hurricanes and Apocalypse Please live 😭
Queens of the Stone Age: Josh Homme arrived onstage, called us all crazy motherfuckers, expressed a sincere desire to get fucked in the ass by a Scottish dude, then called his guitarist a 500-year-old vampire before flirting shamelessly with him. 10/10, no notes. Oh yeah, and the music slapped too.
Käärijä: Half hilarious stand-up show, half incredible party with insanely fun, energetic songs. One of the most enjoyable gigs I’ve ever been to and I would pay good money to fly to Finland solely to see Käärijä play a gig on his home turf.
Muse (Bellahouston Park): My boys were incredible as ever and I had a genuinely great time at this gig, but it gets demoted a little due to the torrential rain cutting our setlist short and making me ill 😅 Would have been an easy third place had technical difficulties not robbed me of the chance to see Verona live...
Go_A: If you’ve never been to a Ukrainian Folk-Rave before, I can highly recommend it! Go_A were simply phenomenal with great energy that had us dancing all night. Highlight of the show was Ihor delivering a badass flute solo while Kateryna went backstage to recharge her awesomeness.
Sparks: These guys have been making consistently excellent music for decades and still have more energy and enthusiasm than most young bands could ever dream of possessing. Such a wonderful set filled with amazingly quirky songs both old and new.
Joker Out: It says a lot about the high quality of shows on this list that I’ve had to rank these guys so low. In any other year they’d be a clear contender for top three! The energy from both the band and crowd were insane, the boys were clearly in awe of having a venue full of Scots singing along with them in Slovene, and I need the Demoni scream injected directly into my veins 😈
Arctic Monkeys: This ranking has almost nothing to do with the band themselves who delivered a great show, but looking back on it I’ve just had to accept that I wasn’t having a good time during a large chunk of this gig. The crowd in my section were rowdy to the point where I couldn’t hear or see anything and I was wasting all my energy trying not to get shoved. My depression was also playing up to the point where I was struggling to get excited over songs I dearly love and I just felt unwell and burnt out all night. The second half was a definite improvement as we’d moved to a calmer area by the time they brought out The Car songs, but by the end I was just exhausted and desperate for home. Would see them again in a heartbeat in a more intimate indoor venue, but I think I’ll avoid any of their big stadium tours in future 😅
Busted: Honestly, I had a much nicer time at this gig compared to Arctic Monkeys. The nostalgia alone of singing along to ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’ at the top of my lungs is always a special moment. But I can’t pretend for a second that Busted’s music comes anywhere close to the quality of Arctic Monkeys’ recent output, so they’re a very reluctant last place on my list of generally incredible gig experiences 😅
Best Support Act: Nova Twins by a country mile. I may have fallen slightly in love with Georgia and her incredible bass skills. It was easy to see why Muse invited them on tour because they seemed so at-ease in a massive arena 😊
Here's to (hopefully) more amazing gigs in 2024! I'd love to hear about some of the great shows that you guys attended this year as well 🥰💖

Yeah that's the thing I'm greatful for that his fanbase in all countries is solely for him and not because of any ship. and just 2 days ago pjms were qting a supposed ot7 who was downplaying jm's popularity saying it's always btw v nd jk and jm is always third like their usual. Again sorry for rant it was just my frustration cause yesterday when i opened my old yt that recommend me BTS and kpop content there i stumbled upon one video made by ot7 which has around 2k comments and thousands of likes and the video was made to look jm a third wheel btw tk. Firstly the video started with "pov: when jk ignored jm" and literally used the clip of jm at Jimmy Fallon that hi-fi one and then later on used one vmin clip with caption jm knowing jk's weakness and literally no one corrected that person in the comments from 2k comments and all were bullshitting taekook and yoonmin and i got remembered why i don't like to be in their spaces (the person was Indian based on songs they used for their other edits), it's always the same and that's why i Don't even watch any BTS content on my personal accts now cause i want it free of that shit.
Then saw a post from pjms showing how the Indian BTS fb ignored their msg about streaming party, someone posted same the other day too. And since yesterday pjms are saying we need to chart LC on Indian and Indonesia charts and we all know what it is. So this all led to my rant which ig I'm again doing 😭 the last time i got mad was when CTT didn't enter Indian charts nd when pointed out Indian armys got mad lol. Mind you they gave excuse of exams last time but there are literally exams going on in India right now like no matter your age you're giving year end exams like 10-12th board exams (the most imp one's), then ppl that are doing graduations are giving practical oral exams, then the teen ones are giving year end so everyone is giving exams yet tae's new song entered. That's how it goes hushhhh
Wait I realized that Indian armys always seem to be writing exams during Jimin's releases because that's the excuse they always give, you would think they don't write exams at other times of the year when Taekook release music.
Like Jimin debuted during Ramadan and I don't think it impacted his debut at all (or much) and a lot of Jimin stans and armys are Muslims.

For the music ask game thingie:
-Vaudeville Villain by MF Doom
-Sway by Michael Buble
-Come as you Are by Nirvana
-Me and your Mama by the GOAT himself Childish Gambino
-Kick Back by Kenshi Yonezu
(Addition of Kaikai Kitan by Eve in a followup ask)
Vaudeville Villain by MF Doom
The backtrack to this was really pleasent and had my head bopping. It was enjoyable to listen to. I loved the bassy sound to it, it tickled my ears. 6/10, wouldn't listen again out of my way, but it was a very enjoyable song. If it ever came on again, I'd be bopping my head to it.
Sway by Michael Buble
The key the vocals are in was very interesting and kept my attention the entire time. The tonal resolution was extremely satisfiying at the end of the verses (?). Made me sway (SERIOUSLY NO PUN INTENDED. I JUST noticed the song was named Sway) from side to side. The song absolutely provided the feeling it intended to. The vocalist has a hell of a voice. The horns hurt my ears a tiny bit though. 6/10. Would have given it s 7/10 but the horns were too much for my ears.
Come as you Are by Nirvana
Alright, I've gotta say something. Nirvana is one of my favorite bands. In Utero is in my top 5 albums (also happy 30th to In Utero!) and they are an inspiration for me as a musician. I am going to judge this SOLELY based on the song as if this wasn't Nirvana. The opening bass is very nice and I love the effects pedal they're using. I think its a phaser? The chorusing on Kurt's voice is nice and smooth (well, its multiple vocal takes instead of chorusing but ya know). Gives it an interesting texture. Really good driving beat. The guitar solo in the middle was a nice aside form the rest of the song, mimicking the vocals. Overall kinda boring, not much happening with the song. Sorta repetitive. 7/10, good effects, nice and crunchy but really boring. Wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it.
Me and your Mama by Childish Gambino
Very chill opening. Reminds me of older Gorillaz stuff. Actually reminds me a lot of The Fall stuff. The transition into the meat of the song was very well done. SUPER funky in the best of ways. Had me close my eyes and really listening. Made me go "DAMN". The vocalist is incredible. Had my whole body moving to the music. Super interesting melodically. There was so much going on, but every instrument and vocal had its place. Amazing song, 8.5/10. I'd give it a 9/10 but I don't think I'd go out of my way to listen to it. But damn I'm glad I was recommended it.
Kick Back by Kenshi Yonezu
The electronic back track to this was pretty good, but I feel like the vocalist was all over the place. REALLY liked the refrain with the melodic singing. Was very loud in ways I didn't like. Wasn't a pleasant listening experience. Everything was too loud, like it was heavily sustained. It felt like the instruments were screeching at me without much of a bass to fill the low end. 5/10, too bright of a song for my tastes but I don't regret listening to it.
Kaikai Kitan by Eve
The bass reminds me of Castlevania music. The vocalist has a really nice singing voice and I enjoyed the chorusing on it. Didn't feel like too much was going on or that it was too loud in any part. The distortion effect that was put on the vocalist's voice in the middle of the song was super pleasant to the ears and fit the song well. 6/10, still a little too bright for me.
These were some good song recs! Thank you for sending them over!

I would like to recommend an album for the sole fact that the first third of it is a narrative about transformation. "Murder of the Universe" has the first story centre around the Altered Beast, I was giving it a listen recently and thought it was something you may enjoy the narrative aspect of.
Ill admit, while this is my first experience with King Gizzard, ive been around the block a few times and nowhere from what ive heard did i begin to anticipate they might have an affinity in adapting Sega Genesis videogames into albums.
Because of that, I'm unfamiliar with the greater Gizzard Universe, and needed a bit of clarification from Genius on some parts. That being said, I very much enjoy the music and the narrative it seeks to tell, even if to a layman, it seems very much anthological. Obviously I enjoyed Part 1 and the Altered Beast best, although I recognize Part 2 and the Lightning Lord as the much more technically impressive part. Once I realized the album was trisected, I considered turning it off now that I had gotten what I had came for, but stuck with it out of respect and curiosity.
it could be that i dont typically listen to rock operas, but parts do seem to drag on for a long time. I know, calling prog rock long is like calling the sun bright, but i enjoy the length of albums like Dark Side or Lamb Lies Down on Broadway because they're slow and transcendant and give me time to zone out. When an album like Murder wants to keep a tense atmosphere, it keeps said atmosphere going across 8+ tracks, and eventually i get bored of hearing the same riff. Really, there were no slow parts in this album.
I appreciate the Altered Beast narrative for what it is, the the constant flip flops between perspectives before they eventually blur into one. It achieved what it set out for and complemented it with some nice descriptions, which are always the best parts of tf of course. From an artistic standpoint, it was very impressive, if slightly generic.
I wasn't a particular fan of the spoken word narration. The actual singing consisted of very basic rhyme, which was frequently evocative, but too short and sparse to ever allow me a chance to get into it. Sung narration with that same style of evocative language, and a good metal scream or too would have greatly increased my enjoyment.
And the AI voice narration... Whoof. Nobody could have seen what would become of AI voices, and I'm sure they only did it to make their character sound properly inhuman, but this time it's simply a victim of time and happenstance.
But for good things to say about part 3, the association of humanity with the revolting act of vomiting fucking slaps. I hate to self-fellate, but i wrote a fic a while back about a transhumanist who wished to make himself feel disgusted to tie himself to his old flesh body (which is so far removed from MLP canon im sure ill just deponify it at some point and release it as a short story), and i still love the idea that the imperfect and wretched parts of our biology are what make us people. The ending track might as well make up for every criticism I had previously about the album. It's fucking perfect, and it's not even what i came for.

I cry about each song from In The Light individually in hopes that it convinces everyone to listen to it
More under the cut
Prologue:
An intriguing opening, and I mean that in a good way. The initial vocals are quite ethereal and make you curious, then the story begins and you’re hooked. My first listen went like Oh? Oh. Oh.
I highly recommend.
Let Go of Me:
Protagonist song. Jeremy Jordan.
Aside from that, I am of the opinion that it’s clever writing. There are some allusions to other songs in the lyrics and some figurative language that gives me beautiful mental images. If the first song wasn’t enough to convince you that it’s a good album, there are so many others that could win you over.
Behind Closed Doors:
This one I like a lot. It’s grown on me quite a bit. There are so many fun elements and parts that draw you in. The lyrics are hospitable and make you feel like you’re being welcomed and introduced to their little corner of the world.
More:
It’s More. Under the cut. I think I’m funny. Anyway.
This is a peer pressure song and as someone who isn’t easily swayed by peer pressure, I would give in. It has such an interesting sound and the two characters here have such an intriguing dynamic.
She’s Not Me:
Very powerful song. So much emotion. Kind of reminds me of She Used To Be Mine from Waitress because it has a similar feeling of longing and it’s perfect. Crying.
Tomorrow Begins Today:
The emotion. The storytelling. The combination of reminiscing and looking to the future. It emulates ✨🌌 And the harmonies. Please.
This song in particular also has amazing animatic potential and I need it to be popular among the musical theatre community solely for that reason.
The Man I Know:
A look at the past. A little bit sad, a little bit angry, a little bit hopeful, a lot emotional. Ciara Renée gives it her all. If I could sing? I would belt this song all the time because it gives me feelings.
Dare to Dream:
It’s a romance duet but also includes an ambitious woman and gets stuck in my head often.
I’m not afraid to drop names. Antonio Cipriano and Solea Pfeiffer. If you are a fan of either of them and haven’t listened to this song or album, do yourself a favour and remedy that soon. Your ears and soul will thank me.
Rise or Fall/Act I Finale:
Vocals? ✓
Story? ✓
Catchiness? ✓
This is the type of Act I finale that has you shaking in your seat then leaves you in a near-catatonic state during intermission. Once again, I would sing this all the time if I had the ability. It has so much energy and carries a lot of emotion. So much fun to listen to.
He Is No Man:
Haunting and ominous, but not in a way that makes the listener feel uncomfortable. It’s comfortably unsettling, and a really interesting emotional journey.
Sign, Shake, Spit:
Lyrical bookends. I love it so much. You go on a journey and there’s a lot happening and it’s all tied together by the lyrics. The way this song is constructed is just amazing.
Catch the Moon:
The high notes. I am a puddle on the ground. The allusions to the other songs. Perfect for the character’s narrative. The emotion behind the words and the feelings being expressed is a lot to process, but it’s meant to be.
In The Light:
Title song. 11/10. I can imagine a large choir singing this and it makes my soul happy. It would also be phenomenal as just an orchestra instrumental. You have to listen to it to know what I mean. It’s among my favourites from this album.
The Man I Know (Reprise):
A great use of a reprisal. In the context of the story, it’s heartbreaking and bittersweet and very powerful. So much emotion and so little time to convey it.
Her Embrace:
How many times have I said emotion? Because it’s one more time. This is one of those songs that you could make fit any mood. It could be bittersweet. It could be a love ballad. It could be a song you listen to for lyrics or just for vibes.
In terms of what it means to the story, oh my goodness. No I will not elaborate. There is a plot summary on their website. Amazing. I need this on a stage now.
The album is linked below. Listen through your preferred music platform. It’s worth it.

~July's Books Reviewed~
*everyone please just ignore the fact that June was skipped... shhhhhhh! 🙈*
A slow month for reading again (but better than the previous 😬) however all three were thoroughly enjoyed. That's it for this months intro, not going to lie to you, I have nothing else to say 😅
The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie
(304 pages)
I read this book in a single day right at the start of the month when I still had good intentions of reading more... while my intentions led to little, it is a testament to the book that it was finished so quick. There is something comforting about an Agatha Christie novel, especially a Poirot one, and I really enjoyed reading the very first Poirot one for the first time and seeing just where the character started. As always, the pacing was good, the characters were intriguing, and the mystery was, well, mysterious! I especially loved that in this edition of the book they had printed both the official ending, as well as the original ending Agatha Christie wrote before she changed her mind. I thought it was a really interesting insight into her as an editor as well as a writer. I will say that I definitely preferred the official ending so was glad to see that was the one chosen by the printers! Overall, an engaging and fun read, a classic whodunit and should rightfully be included on any mystery lovers tbr list.
I gave this book 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Beyond the Story: 10 Year Record of BTS by BTS & Myeongseok Kang
(496 pages)
Am I biased? Probably. Do I care? No. This is for my personal record of the books I've loved this year and I loved every single second of this. I cried, laughed, reminisced, missed all of them more than is healthy probably, and felt indescribably proud of them and myself. I don't tend to read biographies, or nonfiction at all, but I have been listening to BTS since the end of 2015 and they have taught me so many important lessons, as well as offered me comfort and joy in ways that they probably can't even imagine. Reading this book felt not only like a window into a section of their past that we hadn't been able to see before, but also like a portal right back to my own past. As ridiculous as it may sound, they are all so relatable and it makes me so happy to remember how far they've come, as well as filled with hope for my own future. I genuinely don't think it's an exaggeration to say that they reminded me how to just be happy. Yes they're not solely responsible for it, nor do they miraculously solve everything, but they definitely have improved my life with their music and unwavering (if remote and one sided!) presence. For that, I will never be able to thank them enough.
I gave this book 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson
(643 pages)
I really really enjoyed this! To be completely honest, I was nervous going in that it wouldn't live up to my expectations for Sanderson, but I had no need to be concerned. Sanderson is a masterful world builder, has incredible characterisation, and enthralling plots. I am obsessed with the almost espionage elements of this book and am so happy to see that once again Sanderson has prioritised a beautiful found family at the centre of the relationships. It is truly a unique and fun story with so many twists and misdirects, and yet it is all written so cleverly that it isn't once blunt or off putting. I would highly recommend!
I gave this book 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Anon who wanted to contribute to the fandom here, thank you so much for the recommendations on what I can do!! I do have two more questions though if you are alright with answering those.
When it comes to perseveration, what do you think is in the most dire need for it? I am thinking of creating a site dedicated to persevering a sole aspect of the media in Guilty Gear, I just don’t want to accidentally have it focused on something already wildly saved already.
And for my second question, when it comes to digging up media, where do you recommend I begin? Are there certain sites or apps that can help me find GG lost media? Or are links to places to look something the lore server also provides?
Yeah, no problem!! I'm still pretty new at GG media preservation compared to most of the other people doing it, but I don't mind sharing what I know ^^
Honestly probably the interview articles, then the scanned stuff, followed by the .ROM rips, and then the sprite/background rips. The music is by far the most archived part of GG. ArcSys apparently basically never files takedown notices so the OSTs are uploaded everywhere lol
I don't think the lore server has website links for this kind of stuff but there are a few sites that I end up returning to for stuff occasionally. Readmore again because there are kind of a lot haha
Oh, a quick note before you dive into this: Avoid Blade (gear-project on here; sometimes Blade Highwind elsewhere). He used to do some old preservation stuff and work on translations/lore documents but he has a reputation for purposely manipulating or misinterpreting the canon, on top of just generally being racist and trans/homophobic. You'll see his name often on old forums/archives. It might be worth saving his stuff for shiggles but that's your call.
I'm heading out for the day here soon so I'll answer this now but if I think of anything else while I'm out, I'll reblog it when I get home and add on to it.
Archive.org - The bae. Most of the lore server (myself included) upload our projects here. Mostly scanned works but a few .ROMs are on here too. The Wayback Machine can be used to find lost stuff from defunct Geocities pages or, if you're really good, you might be able to find old/dead GG fansites hosted outside of Geocities.
GuiltyGear.ru - I have no idea who runs this site but its last update was in 2015. Has a bunch of art/sprite rips, archives of old official fankits, WinAmp skins, just like a lot of old interesting stuff. I have a feeling I'm gonna hop on one day and they aren't gonna have renewed the domain and it'll be dead so I've saved a good portion of the things uploaded here but would like to doublecheck some day. It wouldn't hurt to also maybe make a backup of it, imo.
FightersGeneration - Active general fighting games website. Has a bunch of loose scans, sprites, art for GG though. I don't think this website is in danger of going down anytime soon, but it could save you some trouble of going to archive something and double checking to see if FG has it first, though FG's archives for GG are not comprehensive since they do other fighting games too.
Vimm's Lair - Still active .ROM archive that's been running since 1997 (!!). Also not in danger of going down any time soon but it's another reference to see what has and has not been preserved already. Their page for GG has icons next to what .ROMs they're missing.
The Dustloop forums - These seem to be entirely inactive and searching them is a pain in the ass but I've found some cool stuff on here before just from poking around. Might lead to some ancient fan sites to run through Wayback Machine.
This is a touchy topic for some, but it might also be interesting preserving old fanfiction from FF.net and ao3 (and old forums/fan sites). This is a form of art that is often overlooked when people talk about preserving fan content. Since most authors are still active, I wouldn't touch anything from maybe like the last idk 10 years or so? But anything older than that is entering "danger of becoming lost media" territory, imo. No idea where you could upload these if you decide to back them up though...

actually I want to know your thoughts on Legend of Dragoon too. And throw in Legend of Legaia while you're at it!
Oh my. It's been ages since I originally played either one but I'll answer to the best of my ability.
For Legend of Dragoon -
Favorite thing about that game: The dragoon spirits and their different abilities. Each one had different uses in battle and then there was the elemental rock, paper, scissors that led a player to target weaknesses, which is a JRPG staple. Also I thought the dragoon armor designs were cool.
Least favorite thing about that game: I guess it's the fact that I saw the whole deal with Shana coming from a mile away. I recognize both the childhood friend romance and the "person being key to a world ending event" tropes being key parts of storytelling in its time but I don't know. The whole "People as objects" (it's almost always female characters!) - puts me off.
Favorite character in that game: Albert, my man! I will admit to my younger self (14-15 years old) having a crush on him, but all in all he's just a decent person. He wants to be a good king and help others, and he's willing to pick up a lance and do the fighting himself if that's what it takes. Also I liked his bromance with Lavitz quite a lot.
Would I recommend it? Why? I don't know if I could recommend it now. The actual hardware to play it would be hard to come by, and I think a lot of the writing and the mistranslation would date this game quite a bit. But it does remain a fond memory of its time.
Free space to go off about something! Can Legend of Dragoon get a remaster? A remake? Something to bring it into the 2020s? I feel like it's becoming a bit of lost media at this point and it's kind of a shame! I'd like to experience it again with fresh eyes and a new perspective as an adult, but at the moment it's not possible!
Rating out of 10: 6/10. I don't remember hating it at the very least. Some of the characters and plot points were enjoyable but others I could take or leave. It's a mixed bag, but I still think this game is worth something because I do remember it well over two decades later!
For Legend of Legaia -
Favorite thing about that game: I liked the combos that you put in. It's similar to a fighting game (but you're not putting in the Konami code!) It was interesting finding out the different moves you could use, and even better when you added the Seru into the mix. Gameplay wise Legaia was very fun.
Least favorite thing about that game: Some of the battles are tough, especially in early game. You really have to be on your toes all the time if you want to win. This was a game in the era where they did not hold your hand, and it shows.
Favorite character in that game: Noa. I love her first meeting and then finding out her origin story later. And I also like her fighting spirit. She might have a simple understanding of the world because she was literally raised by a wolf/Seru, but she does come to know what love is and she wants to fight for it! I respect her writing for that.
Would I recommend it? Why? For the same reason as Dragoon, I can't recommend it solely because it's so hard to find now! But if money and hardware were no object, I would say go for it? The world building is solid, the storytelling simple but enjoyable and the music is quite nice.
Free space to go off about something! Same as Dragoon above but... can we somehow bring this game to modern hardware? I think that it would be a good addition to other classic JRPG collections that are included on consoles like the Nintendo Switch and the Playstation 4. I know I would definitely play it again if I had the chance.
Rating out of 10: 7/10! Cool world building, nice imagery, and gameplay that shakes up the JRPG formula. I also like the fact there's only three main playable characters, since it gives each of them more than enough screentime and development. (Even silent protagonist Vaan is enjoyable!)
