Two things can be true despite their conflict with one another. Here are some of these things.

1. The Corinthian cannot be touchstarved in the same way a human can be. He isn't alive; he has no nervous system; he is not a social animal on a biological level and has no need for contact.

2a. The Corinthian nonetheless thrives on pleasure, pain, and other sensory experiences, and touch is one of those. In certain contexts, he can crave or abhor it; he craves @mythboundmuses' Dream's touch, for example, because it's a symbol to him. If Dream is touching him he isn't dismissing him; if Dream is touching him then the Corinthian has his attention, and with Rue's Dream specifically, he craves that to an unholy degree despite--as said--not actually being touchstarved. There are other Dreams and other characters whose touch he abhors and shrinks from; again, not for the thing itself but because of what it means.

2b. It doesn't actually matter what kind of touch the Corinthian receives--though he prefers rough to soft. Not because he's afraid of gentleness or whatever, but because it just doesn't do much for him outside of a very basic 'this physically feels pleasant I guess' sort of thing, whereas rougher contact for him tends to have more weight and meaning behind it.
