thinking about how sam and dean were made responsible for each other's physical safety and lives in high-risk, high-stakes environments from such a young age from going on hunts together (with John) and even if John mostly tried to keep them and especially Sam out of the worst of it can you imagine knowing your sibling lives or dies on your watch while most kids are worried about who they're taking to prom good god no wonder these boys are not normal about each other

normalize your villains. writing wise. i think everyone knows villain behavior irl would get you a ticket straight to the highest security prison out there. but this is about building a fictional world. for context, i've recently been on a rewatch for the show once upon a time and this time, i've tried to stay impartial to the characters storylines. the villains seems irredemable in the first season and frankly, i'm disappointed that this changes. hear me out !!!!!
my version of wednesday addams is for the most part chaotic neutral. wherever the current sails, she'll follow. sure, wednesday has the potential to grow and have (somewhat) healthy relationships in her life, but at the end of the day, she's not a hero. she's not even the anti-hero. sometimes it plays out like that and she might look the part, but she's not good goddammit.
for the crimes that she've committed? guilty as charged. for all the people she had hurt? guilty as charged. for all the misery she'll cause others? you guessed it, guilty as fucking charged. i'm not going to water her down.
in my mind, the addamses were always the outliers, but with the bestest of intentions. morticia and gomez welcomed vile strangers into their homes and tried their very best to make them feel comfortable in their home. they have a skewed perception for the world, something that's unusual, morbid, downright grotesque. edgar allan poe, which netflix glorified and here i am doing a shoutout to train my beloved, would tremble had he known of the addamses. morticia and gomez are kind, in their way. but you know who never really was?
their kids. in the comics (both by the og author and some others icr the author, but more closer to our time), pugsley was the devil incarnate. he showed no remorse, he was clearly thrilled by the suffering he caused others. but i suppose the directors changed the storyline and made wednesday the brand new puglsey in the 90s movies. she showed no emotion, she was a okay with murdering her own, even if she knew as luck as it, their younger brother pubert would live. this time around, wednesday was the devil incarnate.
and i agree with the canon, she can be incredibly intelligent and even more ruthless than she is intelligent. but one thing i've noticed is that, she notices her parents being taken for granted. she is aware that others will use morticia and gomez's kindness against them. sure, they can take it, that's their thing after all. but wednesday noticed everything since she was a kid and she remembers.
and guess what?
just because someone went through hell and back (even if said hell is not the worst that could happen), that doesn't mean someone will come out kind and good. wednesday will forever doubt anyone in her life and she will push them away, just as she'll try to give them the world. but no matter the good she does, at the end of the day, she is the villain. it's not the addams family, it's just the kids and i say that because pugsley and pubert have the same rights as wednesday does.
at the end of the day, being evil after witnessing evil is okay. fiction wise, i feel like reminding. some characters are irredemable. just because they do good things sometimes that doesn't make them good. just like doing bad things sometimes doesn't make them bad. but here's the catch with the addamses. they always, always own up who they are. wednesday no exception to the rule.
wednesday, the villain, can do good things. she can save your muse, she can enjoy your muse's company, she can love your muse. but all of this, all the good things do come from a villain. did she deserve the awful treatment she and her family got in canon? of course not, that we can all agree on. but it doesn't matter what happened, what matters is what choices they make afterward. wednesday will always choose herself. wednesday doesn't pick good, she willingly chooses evil.
sure, a villain is capable of love. a villain is capable of both good and bad. but look at how it always ends. wednesday is a villain and she will suffer, your muse too if you dare to come too close. it's not fair, i know. but this is just my theory, vero's theory. and, you may expect it by now,
please, normalize your villains.

I don’t have anywhere to go with it but I’m very compelled by the idea of Vi lying about her age to the explorer’s association
#in a universe where eetl's line about not allowing children is more of an actual Thing#normally I tend to think of her as being 17 but for this she's like sixteen and a half. maybe like three quarters. because its funnier#(and I always think about her looking young for her age but that's extra true in this case. because it's exaggerated with her pretending to#be older)#she uses fake id stuff she got from someone in the underground tavern#also have thoughts on that getting 'revealed'#although one of them is an au where muse is around and the very first time she has a moment alone with vi she's like anyway how drastically#are you lying about your age. deadpan. because they're similar enough that she can just Tell#I suppose leif might also suspect her at some point but it wouldn't be as immediate#(this is more of a separate post thought but sometimes I have feelings about the comparison drawn between them)#(I don't personally vibe with the idea of leif and or kabbu being (like) vi's parent but I do think leif has moments where he looks at vi#and is like. sees in her someone that could be a version of his and muse's kid. and emotional)#but anyway back to the other relevant thought. which is that Vi doesn't bring up the age thing until they get to her birthday#(which. the one on her id may or may not match her real one idk)#and leif or kabbu remarks on her being nineteen oh wow can't believe it. and she's like *awkward inhale* /yeah/.....#an aquila original#bug fables#vi bug fables

Zangel does indeed have sharp teeth; like most Zetis she possesses two rows of razor sharp teeth as well as large top and bottom canines. She is sometimes self conscious about smiling cause of them, but she doesn't think they're bad.

Important Things To Know (Part 2 (aka How Is This Blog Canon-Divergent?)):
The main difference is his appearance. He has longer darker red hair that he usually ties up, has symbols of The Beast on either ear, freckles on his face and chest, wears glasses instead of a monocle, and has a tail. He also usually forgoes wearing the tattered jacket, leaving him in just a vest and shirt.
Alastor is still the facility manager of the Hazbin Hotel. That hasn't changed! He has his radio tower and a suite there, but he also has a personal home. He flip-flops between sleeping at the hotel and his home.
He does NOT hurt or threaten his contracted souls (see: how he treats Husk in episode 5). He treats them as if they were his friends. Whether or not they see him as a friend is up to their own discretion, but he has never and never will treat them badly.
He did NOT start beef with Lucifer when he arrived at the hotel after being invited by Charlie in episode 5. He welcomed him in and was just as eager to take him on a tour as Charlie was.
He is NOT contracted to Lilith. He IS contracted, but to whom (or what) hasn't been revealed yet.
NOTE: your muse is ALLOWED to assume he sticks to canon, but he WILL correct them!

I'm filling in a meme about romantic gestures for Tobias and it dawned on me just how many basic things that most take for granted he's never had nor ever will have... like the fact that he's never seen nor owned a photo of himself (and certainly will never allow any to be taken after the Kira case) which means he'll never have anything physical to look back on when(/if) he grows old, nothing for himself and his friends to use as backgrounds or meme with each other about, nor will the world have anything solid to remember him by beyond his name; the fact that he can't trust 99.9% of the people who come into his life because 90% of them were either sent to kill him or are vying for his assets; or the fact that giving someone a spare key to his house while knowing fully well that they could've tapped it, placed a bomb in it etc or trusting them to not have poisoned his food/drink beforehand are THE two biggest signs of love he could possibly show someone else

what's the first thing that comes to mind when i ask "favorite krycek scene?"
in terms of "scenes with krycek in them that are not actually about him" it will always be the part at the end of apocrypha where he's expelling the black oil onto the ship and it's coming out of his eyes and everything. something about it is so disturbing, so entrancingly gross. it's almost hard to watch but that's why i like it. i used to wonder a lot how they actually pulled off that effect and so i looked it up and apparently there was like this weird mask with tubes running through it that took like an hour to put on. pretty cool
in terms of "scenes with krycek in them that actually sort of are about him" i really really like the bit in ascension of him in the operating room with the tram driver at skyland mountain. there's already a tenseness to the scene (is mulder going to make it to the top in time? is the tram going to fuck up because he's going too fast? etc) that is really well escalated by the way everything is shot. there are a lot of face close-ups--krycek, the tram driver, barry in the car, scully in the trunk--and a lot of big wide shots showing just exactly how high in the air mulder is on the tram, it makes it feel like an action movie. i love the camera work for the whole sequence; the shots of the tram operator sitting at the desk always include krycek in the background, but never his face, and at the end of the sequence, when the tram driver explains that mulder looks like he's going to make it to the top of the mountain safely, it shows krycek reaching for the gun at his waistband without changing the angle of the camera, so you maybe almost don't notice it. the little micro-movements and expressions are really good here too; krycek pistol-whips the tram operator, fixes his hair (lol), closes his eyes and sighs before reaching out to shut off the tram. the sleeve of his suit is too long, and it covers part of his hand when he turns the key. he makes his phone call in a vaguely resigned manner, maybe not overjoyed at what he's doing but definitely committed to it. mulder is calling his name over the radio--what's going on down there? do you read me? does anybody read me?--and when mulder actually does make it to the top of the mountain unharmed, even after almost falling off the tram, krycek closes his eyes and sighs again in the sort of way where you can't quite tell if he's annoyed or relieved. one of my favorite scenes of the episode, period; it's incredibly rewindable. i get excited for it whenever i rewatch -_-

Hands-down the most useful tip for anyone trying to figure out how divisions of astral, etheric, spiritual, etc. work (especially in relation to the mechanics of magic, the paranormal, the supernatural, etc.) is acknowledging that they all have phases and states of "matter" affected by levels of energy like the physical does, and that those phases and states will affect their own "matter type" differently than they will affect others depending on those energy levels.

I forgot to mention it earlier, but I've decided that the Pirodeti are a part of the royalty verse. They're not a widely known thing though, and honestly I think the only two of them that I have as a part of things is Enoch and Shilo.

I want to say that I can’t believe she did this, but it’s half a lie if I do. Emily will do anything at least once if she can convince herself its for the greater good, or progression of science, and she is very good at convincing herself that everything is.
What I really mean is that I can’t believe there was enough of him left to work with.
I said he was coming with us because in the moment it felt like not just the right choice, but like the only choice. For that moment we weren’t... us.
We weren’t standing in her office looking into strange eyes on a familiar face, we were back in the diner. It was the same feeling when I found them, starving and each with a foot on deaths door, and I knew that leaving them behind wasn’t possible.
I know they were both almost grown when we met, and I’ve never once tried to make them think of me as their father but I chose to make them my responsibility and that never changed.
Leaving Isaac to die in that building has felt like I failed at that, and I worry now that bringing his clone back with us has less to do with the clone and more to do with me attempting to assuage that guilt.
Maybe my life has just been a series of failures and attempts at fixing those failures then failing themselves, and it’s just an endless circle I’ll never break free of.
If that’s the case, what was I trying to fix when I found them in that diner?

Lena! Lena!! here’s a few questions to think about while falling asleep: which muse is the most likely to go forward in time and why? (can’t go back, just forward!) which muse is the healthiest? (think….plain oatmeal for breakfast level of healthy) which muse is the most afraid of spiders? (anyone who can’t even watch harry pottery bc of the spiders?) which muse is the most afraid of death vs least afraid of death? (reincarnation doesn’t count. i mean DEATH death. the kind you don’t come back from) and finally, which muse cried while watching Encanto?

You take my heart out of my chest and ANNIHILATE IT, take my LOVE, DAMMIT, DAMMIT, DAMMIT
-. Which muse is the most likely to go forward in time and why? This is such a tricky question I love IT SO FKING MUCH, it's so good, I have so many muses who are so afraid of the future for whatever reason, others who would like to experience it naturally as it approaches, not wanting to miss out on anything, good or bad as it may be. Others barely tolerate the present, to jump into one they know nothing of... but then again, maybe there is liberation in jumping forward and skipping out on difficult decisions you might have had to make along the way, the easy way out of having deal with future loss. I think Karube probably would do this. But to pick an original character, Doe might. I can't say for sure if he's the most likely, but the one that sticks out as very likely. Doe is very much that person, who can't bear the present or bear the responsibilities and connections he himself chose to carry and build. He can't stomach existing in the presence and would jump forward in time far enough to a point where existence for him might not even be an option anymore. A point in time where he could only fade away in the background without a chance or motivation to survive.
-. Which muse is the healthiest? SEOK-JU, BABY!!! Seok-ju might have some pretty tough mental health situations to deal with, but honestly? He handles them the best out of just about anyone featured here and this includes self-care. They don't skip meals and they eat healthy meals, keep hydrated, and all that. Considering what he has to deal with, he's got a pretty good grip on life. Sometimes it slips out of his grasp, yes ma'am, but they've got it.
-. Which muse is the most afraid of spiders? I LOVE YOUR EXPLANATIONS IN PARENTHESIS, LET ME BUY YOU FLOWERS-- Ahem, I do have a muse who really doesn't like fast moving small things, but I can't for the life of me remember who that is lmao. I think I'll give this one to... welp, to be honest with ya, I am not afraid of spiders, I LOVE spiders, even those who are the size of my head, those Australian ones who just vibe in houses and are hairy and super fast, I'd never fuck with them or live with them because the thought of waking up with one under my pillow or in the toilet is kind of gross more than anything, so I think I... just... passed that onto all my muses. I've got muses with paranormal ties or who deal with scary shit or just don't care, so... I think, that everyone I write could watch H. and R. hang out in that forest, but Prince and Yeonghon, while not afraid, would straight up murk one if they saw it (dance outta line).
-. Which muse is the most afraid of death vs least afraid of death? I feel called out on my reincarnation nonsense for Pat-- ;;;;; LKFHFKLHGFLKJ Yihwa is the most afraid of death, it's a pretty vital part of her characterisation, it's basically the backbone of her developmental journey (that has yet to see an end, it's so seXY here~ I love writing~), so this one goes to her. I have to exclude characters who are, just, convinced they'll never die (Nathaniel, lmao) so they don't even entertain this topic enough for me to have a place to smack them onto this spectrum. And I guess, least afraid could be Fabian. They kind of... feel very welcoming of death, the notion of there being an end is for them more one of 'final rest' than something to be afraid of. I'm kithing their forehead. Or Zagreus, because he can't stay dead, lmao
-. And finally, which muse cried while watching Encanto? I fucking cried while watching Encanto. I was choking on my tears to not get caught but BY GOD, that bastard gets it, Surface Pressure and What Else Can I Do? That's the EDS (Eldest Daughter Syndrome) RIGHT THER- But THAT ASIDE, perhaps Seok-ju because he does enjoy crying at Disney films. Kaeden, same deal. Taejoo might cry because dysfunctional family dynamics are, welp, been there done that. I guess Taejoo would cry, not for the resolution, but for knowledge that real life doesn't work the way Encanto does. It's a Disney, it's a cartoon, it's a time-limited story, but real life dysfunctional families don't get repaired that easily, real life abuela's can't be convinced like that, speeches don't work in real life. That would make him cry. IT MADE ME CRY.
