if he’s at the event tonight - this woman bailed him out and held him up while he was pursuing an incredibly risky career. Showing up for her doesn’t mean complicity in every view she has. These people are humans, not totems. You never know the discussions being had. Don’t listen to some of these brand new influencer activists - strategic silence and alternative support are just as valuable to a cause. Reminder, you don’t know that man EITHER way. if he’s NOT at the event tonight - doesn’t mean he’s fallen out with someone, doesn’t mean he’s sick, it doesn’t mean anything.

We are all suffering a strike drought. Please funnel that energy into putting pressure on governments and the AMPTP to treat us all as a global population with care and compassion. Do not spend that energy spinning wheels on speculating on stranger’s personal lives that are as infinitely complex and difficult and messy as yours, where the lines aren’t clearly defined.

and for some of you - don’t push your guilt at not advocating for the Palestinian cause sooner, onto celebrities - by demanding they use their platform as you see fit.

You have enough power to create change yourself. Celebrities are just gig workers with higher profiles and higher pay checks. They are just as diverse in methods and madness as the rest of us. Please, I am literally begging - stop focusing your activism on getting other people to ‘say’ things. Focus it on action and doing things.

a lot of you think you might act differently in that situation - i’m here to tell you, you don’t know how you would act. You don’t know what you would have had to sacrifice, or what you feel would be at risk, for all those years of work - on a cause that is still creating massive tensions in the industry that is predominantly run by religious conservatives.
