Somewhere in Lisbon there’s a quaint and cozy independent bookstore, family owned, passed through generations. The building is small and from the outside it looks squished between the modern neighbors' construction. The store feels unrealistically spacious once I enter it, as all magical places do. At the entrance, to the left, there’s a café counter and a few tables filled with tourists drinking iced tea.  Towering shelves surround me, filled with all kinds of books. Old and dusty, brand new and shiny, forgotten gems and classics, trash romance and cheap poetry.

“This feels like the perfect place to buy books I’ll never read.” I tell Rúben, who is standing next to me almost as tall as those shelves, holding my hand, as he always is.

“Oh, really? You’re trying to convince me that your wisdom comes from-Where? Binge-watching reality TV?” He speaks softly, lowering his head to look deep into my eyes, smirking playfully.

Outside, the weather is almost unbearable. It’s early morning but the heat makes it feel like midday already. We’re both with our best linen summer outfits; as much as I’ll refuse to admit, the matching colors are absolutely intentional.

“Hey, it's a valid source of cultural analysis. You can learn a lot from those housewives.”

He laughs as I say that, ruffling my hair, as we continue to walk deeper inside the store.

This blog is inspired by Kunikida Doppo and his notebook.

For those who haven't watched Bungo Stray Dogs (do it! You won't regret it): Kunikida Doppo is a character with special powers called "the matchless poet" (english name) or "the elegant poet" (german name) but the actual translation is "lone poet". His power allows him to manifest things written on the papers of his notebook. Kunikida is an idealist and he loves to plan. His notebook carries the name "ideal" and he usually writes his schedules in there, as well as things like "conditions for his ideal partner", useful facts and the weapons he manifests of course.

Based on this idea, i wanted to create a "notebook" of my own, where i'll write down "ideal" imagines (anime & kpop) as well as other useful stuff that i would want to be manifested. Because we manifest our reality ya know ;)
