considering that i waited for her for eight-hundred years and i'm the only one who remembers everything... it's a shitty feeling.

if she's in love with someone else, why should i pursue her? if she's happy with them, why the hell would i bother to break that apart?

yeah, i waited for her. we made a vow and she forgot about it. whatever.

i'm pretty much used to it. i've accepted it, but that doesn't make things hurt less.

kind of sucks having to carry that vow with me and how it weighs down on my chest whenever we hang out or whenever i see her. especially when she's smiling but it's not directed at me.

and, well... i should be happy for her, yeah?

even at the cost of these feelings i've been harboring for all these years. it can be suffocating, like being trapped underwater unable to breathe... no way out.

he pauses, eyes widening briefly when he catches sight of the photo and something in his chest aches before he shuts down the feeling. he looks at the picture, cupping his chin in thought as he holds the picture in one hand, observing it like a distant memory.

ah! there was that oceanic theme festival thing we went to one time, i forgot when exactly, but they had us dress in the clothes of the supposed lemurian sea god and his devout follower. we didn't keep the clothes though.

Do you ever wonder if you should just give up on her? If the pain is worth it anymore? Couldn't you be happy if you let her go and found someone else?

You know... I'll tell you about the time that thought crossed my mind and was so loud I had to walk away from her.

It was when I first met her in this life, she was trying to get a fish out of this small pool for this kid. She was still beautiful as ever, I had to stop myself from staring – anyway. I had mentioned about the fish being bright as a flame, a real Flamulla from Lemurian legends. When I saw the confusion on her face and her words followed by after – I should've known that's how it would be, still... The words stung.

She forgot, again.

Is the pain worth it? That's... Hard to answer when you're used to getting hurt, pain starts to dull, you know?

As for being happy. Well, not all fairytales have happy endings, and I've come to believe that applies to me. I don't accept it, but I made a vow to her – once a Lemurian forms a bond with a human, they can't go against them. She forgot her feelings and even then, my fire can't be extinguished.
