i've never come across a cucking fic (teehees) that was enjoyable to me aside from yours. how you gave erwin the sole spotlight but also reminded us that zekey was still there, watching on like it's his all time favourite film that he could rewatch for the rest of his life and never get sick of.

hi scribs after omg so long i've been so busy with uni and my assignments and exams i'm so glad i only have one more because i'm just about done for this year :') but i came back just to see you post about the blueberry muffins !! omg how good are they ?!?!

i dont believe you when you say they're ugly 😔. it's the inside that counts and something about imagining them steaming with the burst of the blueberry soaking into the muffin part,,, there's nothing ugly about that. but i'm so happy to hear that your dad enjoyed it ! these are definitely my favourite things to bake. it's so easy and stress relieving and the icing on the cake is sprinkling the raw sugar on top and adding more just because you know the crunch is going to be so good :')

i'm determined to pick up baking again when i finally finish with my last assignment. hopefully my cold will go down by then. i already know i'm going to make the earl grey and lavender cupcakes i can already taste it ahhh when i make it, i'll be sure to send you the photos as soon as i can 😁

i used biiiiig frozen blueberries this time. i let them thaw a little bit (but still mostly frozen) and they worked out so much better than my first try! my only little mistake was not straining them beforehand - which i was afraid to do because frozen blueberries tend to get mushy and delicate and i didn't want to accidentally squash them 🙈 it's the blueberry juice that stained the batter and made the muffins ugly but taste wise? HIT. omg. you are so right about the sugar on top! came out crisp fresh from the oven 😭 we had a bit leftover that we stored in the fridge. the sugar top wasn't crispy anymore after that but the muffins stayed relatively soft and moist. i credit the brown sugar i used in lieu of white. i'd like to make another batch, this time using both brown and white sugar to see if i can get a brighter batter with the bouncy moist-ness that the brown sugar brings.

eeeeeee! i cannot thank you enough for sharing the recipe! if i perfect this before the christmas gifting season begins, best believe i am going to be a blueberry muffin menace! 😆

hii scribs !! that's so sad omg i hope you'll be able to get your hands in fresh blueberries soon but then again those blueberry muffins deserve to be indulged in because i guarantee you'll be making them with love as i do every time i make them :') but omg lemon poppyseed !! i've been looking for a good lemon flavoured dessert to make for so long, i think it's been my favourite ever since i made myself a lemon cake for my birthday back in 2020 :) if you have it on hand i'd love to save the recipe to make on my birthday this year. though, i've also been eyeing these earl grey tea with lavender buttercream frosting as well 🤭

it's not that bad if an allergy thankfully :) it just stems from my hayfever so most fruits/veggies/edible plants make me super itchy. i'll give it another try another day, because i have good days and bad days so hopefully yhe next time will be a good day 🤭

also that pasta looks so good !! i'll give it a try next time i cook dinner for the family along with your altercations ahh but i'm sorry you're not able to have instant ramen anymore 😭 just know that i'll be recipe testing homemade instant ramen so you can fall back into bad good habits.

also that's such a lovely story behind russian being the language you hope to be fluent in. and i totally understand the feeling of nostalgia you get from it. that's me with cantonese amazingly enough. apparently when i was a few months old my parents and i lived in hong kong for a few months and the security guard of our apartment, an elderly but really nice man, would coo at me every morning whenever either of my parents came down with me strapped to their chests. it's a story i love hearing very much. anywho if you're interested in learning it i hope you're able to learn the basics and having it stick with you. i think it's easier if you have the dedication and motivation to learn the said language ☺️

🍬 nonnie! gosh, i hope so too! blueberries are hard to come by bec i live in the tropics and try to buy local as much as possible. locally cultivated blueberries (from the cooler, mountainous areas) do become available but for some reason, not right now. maybe because we've just come from summer? idk, but i hope we get a supply soon because I WANNA MAKE THOSE MUFFINS! *violently rattles bars of cage*

i made lemon poppyseed muffins today! i was so excited to show you but they did not turn out as i liked :C i'm not sure if it's because the batter was too thick or if my attempts at achieving the muffin top by the initial high heat baking contributed to the less-than-satisfactory crumb (otherwise, it tasted decently good!). the recipe said it's supposed to be like a cross between cake and muffin. i'll try it again. you'll know if i succeed because i will be insufferable about it on here 😂

alternatively, i made beef stew and it came out pretty well! lemme offer you a pic of that instead -

this one was made without red wine and was comforting enough for a rainy day (still raining here! yippee!) but i think i want to try again when my chianti arrives just to see what the fuss is over a pot of classic beef stew!

as far as Bubba is concerned, though, beef stew is beef stew. here he is in his pluto sweater, presenting The Nose to the camera to get closer to the beefy bait 😆

earl grey and lavender sounds absolutey delish! lavender anything is also on my to-bake-at-least-once-in-my-life. i'm waiting to finally decide on the recipe to feel confident that i can pull it off. please do let me know if you end up baking lavender goodies! i am so so curious about the taste! it's a relief to know your allergies are more annoying than bad! aaaaaa once in a while, we mischievous ones like to pop antihistamine pills and then gorge ourselves on the forbidden fruit 😂 i've some friends who do this bec seafood is so good but gives them rashes. it's obvs not a great practise but eh.

i will be so grateful for your ramen test results! haha no other noodle can quite be as chewy and wonderfully sinful as (instant) ramen! for now i cope by watching ramen mukbangs. it's satisfying at the beginning and then slowly descends into disgusting territory when they eat way too much. it's weirdly perfect for me - i get satisfied but also turned off that i stop wanting instant ramen hahaha is that weird?

high five unusual comfort language babes! cantonese sounds kinda close to my family's dialect, which i always thought sounded fast and harsh (and i have the same impression of cantonese). so it's definitely surprising to hear that it's someone's comfort language. but goodness i love your story! can imagine cute little baby you and cantonese grandpa ❤️ hope he's well and healthy wherever he is now ❤️ i did try to learn russian, but dedication levels are insufficient so it always tapered off. the only thing i really retained is being able to read cyrillic and recognizing a couple of words here and there when i hear them in songs or movies. maybe someday i'll seriously learn it and become fluent! 😆

hi scribssss 🍬 here againnn i apologise if it feels like i'm using as my personal diary but talking with you like this is so much fun, it feels like i haven't heard lengthy conversations like this in a long time if ever and not to mention your energy is just so bright and fun to be in :'))

but i wanted to share a little update. unfortunately i don't think mystery man will be able to have a taste of these carrot cupcakes because i didn't see him at work today and my family absolutely LOVES these cupcakes so i only have two left that probably will be all gone by the time i go back to work in two days time, but all the more reason to make them again right :D but yess ahh the sugar on top of the muffins were just the smartest move !! i don't know if it will be the same with brown sugar but i used raw sugar as the sprinkle so if you try it with brown sugar let me know how it goes because i'm imagining it to give the muffins a naughty glaze over the top 🤭

that memory really is the sweetest memory !! and that blank feeling before a huge news is dropped onto you is one of the best feelings in the world hahah super belated congrats to you and your baby team for winning thay mooting competition !! i used to hear about it in high school where my school had a mooting team but i had no idea what it was supposed to be until now basically but hearing the way you describe it makes me want to watch one now in real time,,, 🤭

i love that you mentioned raw sugar because i have never seen them before 😂 brown sugar, i have heard (google said they're the same as turbinado? the latter being a uk term? is this right?) of. muscovado sugar, i know and love. i always assumed muscovado was the rawest sugar could go, but apparently it isn't the same as raw sugar! so i went down the rabbithole tryna figure out what raw sugar is and learned from here. also able to confirm that i DEFINITELY have not seen raw sugar yet in my life 😅 i think maybe i'll use a mix of brown and white? the white may give it the crisp, and the brown a caramel-y glaze when it melts? 🤔 i'll let you know when i find out! hahaha

thank you! it is a heartwarming memory. one i'll keep pinned to my soul forever 💓 you had moot court in high school? you guys so advanced!!! what were your moot topics? high school debate teams, yeah, definitely heard. but moot court - WHOAH! there are yt vids on moot court! the world championships of that tourney our baby team joined are livestreamed and the video saved. i can't find the full championship round for any of the years, but this is pretty much what goes on. two people from each team grilled by a panel and having to defend their "client" like that. you appreciate it so much more if you know the problem (compromis) and understand the law behind it.

🥝 What’s your favorite trope/AO3 tag to write?

modern AU's off the top of my head. of that, i inadvertently find myself going back to political AUs. 3 longfics (1 published, 2 under construction) have that setting. now that i have a think about it, i think i like it so much because political aus have so much drama fodder, especially politically-inclined characters who misbehave A LOT. also, in modern (or relatively modern, rule-of-law modern anyway) political AUs, misbehaving characters aren't above the law, so finding ways to get their drama-filled illegal maneuvers done under the radar of the law makes the writing more fun for me 😊 as for tropes...i skimmed my ao3 tags and realised that i really like power imbalances in explicit works. the misused actual/moral authority trope is too hot to resist. it certainly helps that the characters i like to write about (Erwin, Zeke) carry power and authority so well and are natural leaders! ❤️

omg scribs hii sorry for being mia for so long i've been so busy with life that i've barely had the time to check your page for any updates but i saw those muffins you posted probably ages ago omg !!

they look amazing 🤭🤭 i can just imagine how much more beautiful they looked after they came out of the oven with a pretty golden crispy layer ahhh you're making me crave them once again.

looking at those muffins as well made me realise how much i miss baking, it really has been so long but i'm hoping i'll be able to find a time to bake sometime between now and before my holiday. i've been thinking about that earl grey cupcake with lavender frosting for so long that i have to make it now but that will require me getting edible lavender :')

Those gosh-darned blueberries were handcarried from singapore. I was about to give up and wanted to settle for rehydrating dried blueberries when i happened upon them at the grocery store. Then i knew i just had to do justice to your recipe and have at least one try with proper blueberries. 😤

This batch was made with a bit more milk to make the batter runnier since i noticed from previous attempts that it made for moist-er muffins. They're so good out of the oven but have to be eaten fast cos they start to dry up once refrigerated. Still, i'm super super happy with how they turned out! The crisp sugar top is absolute *chefs kiss*

Did you get to make your earl grey-lavender cupcakes? You're making me want to try for them, too! Even if only the earl grey cupcake at least!

my mistake if you've gotten two asks from me i figured out how to share pics while remaining anonymous but tumblr crashed while i was switching between apps :') but yess i think mystery man is an everything kind of guy. he rated my double choc and banana muffins a 10/10 even though i wish he could've humbled me just a bit because they didnt deserve a perfect rating 😞

but yess those blueberry muffins were the start of my muffin journey !! here's a pic from when i first made it back in feb 2020 and was too impatient and too inexperienced to pose it in golden hour sunlight for the perfect photo op. it definitely tasted as good as it looks and one of my favourite things about it is how no matter how many times you heat it up, the top will always remain crunchyy. it really is the best and i hope you will enjoy it if you ever give it a chance !!

way back, our law school entered a pretty (prolly The Most) prestigious international moot court competition. we were a baby team, then, just getting our feel for the arena and all. the preparation took months and being on top of law school work, was pretty brutal. we competed against the best teams in our country - law schools with DECADES of experience under their belt. for some reason, the stars aligned for us. we made it to the finals of the national rounds and, against all odds, won the championships and earned the right to represent our country in the international rounds. i'll never forget the rush of adrenaline in that final round - holding your teammates' hands, literally feeling your heart flying away in your chest, hearing your competition argue, defending your position before a panel of judges who, irl, were diplomats, international law professors, and judges of collegiate courts. and then going absolutely blank for one moment, hearing your coach and everyone else screaming when your baby team's announced the national champions. it's so crazy and years and years later i still miss that burst of camaraderie and that relief you get knowing that all your work has culminated into something that's more than worth it.

ahh 🍬 nonnie here !! that recipe you provided looks amazing. and i love that i'll be giving carrot cakes another go. seeing that i've been slightly allergic to (raw) carrots, i always assumed i wouldn't enjoy carrot muffins or carrot infused desserts until my mum made some for work and let me try a piece. my world quite literally changed from then and it's been a few years since i've last been able to eat said dessert 🤭

anywho, i think i'll be able to make it this weekend so i'm looking forward to it. i'll update you when i inevitably find myself enjoying the recipe. i just know i will :)

also from foodie to foodie, i hope we'll be able to trade more recipes in the future. the lockdown was the perfect oppurtunity for me to experiment and master the basics of cooking. it's the one big thing that's changed me during that two-year period.

always down to trade recipes! i think you've inspired me to start a new tag: kitchen adventures. it's really more proper to call it (mis)adventures, but i don't want to jinx my efforts 😂 i only started enjoying cooking during the lockdown too (omg there had to be at least one cooking/baking reference in the a/n's of bp 😂) but unlike you, i didn't bother to master it. i really only follow recipes when baking. the rest of the time, i just throw stuff in (and sometimes substitute stuff!) without measuring in typical asian cooking fashion.

edit for p.s. some people add pineapple shreds to carrot cake! i don't know why and i don't know what it does, but one of my most fave versions of carrot cake is from a local chef who does just that! and tops if off with a tangy cream cheese frosting. delight in a bite, i tell you. 🤤

hahah hi scribs this is your 🍬 nonnie this probably isn't going to be my usual burst of appreciation for your fics, even though i have been binge reading some of your ao3 fics since my last ask. i just wanted to comment on one of your last posts about your love language being food and i totally relate !! and if anything, today's events was a testament to that. i just wanted to talk about it because it makes me feel so happy inside. i'm crushing on a coworker at my part time job and a few weeks ago i baked some blueberry muffins and went into work hoping to give some to him only to find out he was out sick and would be for the next week. but i tried again last weekend and this time i made double chocolate banana muffins. it was honestly the best batch of muffins i have ever made and i made a lot, enough to share it with some other coworkers as well. this time i was also able to give it to my crush and he enjoyed it. but when i asked him if he had warmed it up (which was crucial so the chocolate chunks inside would be melted and gooey), he told me he hadn't because he was too hungry so he was in a rush to eat it. he told me that today when i saw him again and when i tell you i was in disbelief :^) i gave him my last two muffins and reminded him as i left and after i left for him to heat up the muffins. i still have yet to hear his verdict but i also promised him that the next batch of muffins i make will be perfect to eat unheated.

i'm glad you and i have food as a love language because it genuinely is one of the most thoughtful love languages out there. there's nothing more satisfying than giving close friends and loved ones something of your own creation and them complimenting you on how well it tastes. for now i'm going to unhealthily perceive this interaction between my crush and me as me and zeke because i think he would also appreciate someone whose love language is giving food :)

that is such a cute story with your co-worker crush! he appreciated the muffins, i promise you! there is nothing truer than the statement that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. men love food, so even if they aren't very particular about how it's served (even if - or dare I say, *especially* if - they're eating it themselves), know and trust that they love the fact of being given food AT ALL.

i don't know anyone who can resist double chocolate muffins! and they are a glory to make, too! practically fool proof, moist every time. tiny chocolate chips make re-heating less necessary, but both you and i agree that there is NOTHING better than gooey melty chunks of chocolate in a banana muffin 🤤

if you're still thinking of what to make for your next batch of muffins, may i suggest carrot with cream cheese frosting? i made some once (added walnut and choc chip, but they're just as good without!) following this recipe, if i remember right and it turned out soooo good. i used muscovado sugar (very very dark, least processed type of sugar) to amp up the moisture and also for an extra caramel-y feel with a subtle sweetness (to balance against the white sugar sweetness in the cream cheese). if you like your muffins sweeter, regular brown sugar will do! 😁

hi scribs i'm that one anon who went into reading DaD without having seen aot before. i don't know if i should give a name for myself but i just wanted to come in here and tell you that i've read bedroom politics finally after keeping it in my to read list for months because 33 chapters seemed like it was too much for me to indulge in while i had my uni schedule on the side. but coming from someone who's soo clueless in politics, you really had me gripping onto every single word like i really knew what was going on and i felt very intelligent reading it and pretending to be a diplomat as the reader. i think that's the beauty of reading fictional pieces of work and you've excelled in writing if you're able to make your reader feel like they're living the role of the narrator. so i just wanted to heavily compliment on your writing in it and also to let you know that i'll be rereading it tonight with the hopes of finishing it the next morning hahah. the wannabe sugar daddy erwin tag really got me i have an even softer spot for him now because of you.

aside from that, i really like your writing of ymir, so much so that i picked up from where i left off in aot s2 which just so happened to be when ymir had her buttload of screentime only for me to see her getting gobbled up by a titan what 😭 is 😭 up 😭 with 😭 that 😭. i might have to go ahead and take another break from aot while i recover from my short lived crush :')) anywho i hope you're doing super well and taking care of yourself as best as you can

i write ymir like i did because like you, i have a desperate crush on her. i love her backstory, her claw-her-way-to-survival arc, her love for historia, and everything else! she was a one-of-a-kind character who unfortunately didn't live to see the end of the saga, but whose own character arc ended just perfectly where it did. since we all miss ymir, i thought i'd revive her here and there in my stories so we can keep indulging in our giddy teenage crushes on her
