I miss when I was younger and I could say to my friends at school "omg I love sebaciel and the hitachin twins are so cute" and NO ONE WOULD BAT AN EYE. i’m saying this, because once again I am pissed off at tiktok, i saw a post saying “the feeling when your favourite character is ruined by disgusting people”, what i have to say to that is, if you see a character you really like and you don’t wanna see sexualised and you do see them be sexualised instead of hating on that person or complaining about it block it don’t interact with it.

you are responsible for what you see online, and the way algorithms work is if you interact with stuff, even if you’re saying negative things, the algorithm will not pick that up and will show you more of that thing so if you really don’t like seeing sexualised things of characters, maybe don’t interact with it, block it block whoever made it block the tags. don’t interact with it or you’re going to see more. you and you alone are the only person who is responsible for your fandom experience and I can assure you if you just learn to curate it on your own, you will enjoy it too much better.

and also, on that note, can we not treat fictional characters like real people? like who cares if someone sexualises hatsune miku? “but shes a minor” she’s fictional she is an anime girl hologram. she is not real, who cares? fictional characters are not real people we should not treat them as such, you can sexualise them you can treat them however, you want in your writing or art or whatever, because they’re not real therefore, whatever you do to them is not going to affect anyone at all.
