Ah yes, sports. The only thing he's extremely smart at.

Other than being street smart, he's body smart also. That's why he's being passed around by sports team in his University and also being gatekept by the clubs.

The baseball club needs a batter? On it. The basketball club had their ace sick? Don't worry, the mvp is here. The badminton team needs a pair for the doubles? Sure, just make sure to let him bring his own racket. Fencing club lacks one person for a complete sparring session? Uh, he hasn't tried fencing yet, but he will still master it immediately.

So because everything in his peanut brain gets squeezed onto sports, his academics isn't really the best...

Yet, his athlete scholarship made him stay afloat in the University. Plus he's the adorable kind of dumb, so everyone loved him.

If you try to tell him that he's a himbo, he would take it as an offense and would yell at you with the biggest pout and puppy dog eyes that he's not a himbo!

Oh, sweet summer child he is.

Everyone liked to watch this big, buff puppy play around with a smile on his face.

But not the Dean of his college. I mean, he's an athlete scholar, that's for sure, but he's still in Education! He needs to do better in his studies if he wants to be a teacher in the future!

And no! Damon cannot just cluelessly tilt his head to the side!

While Damon pouted, the dean called for you.

You're the candidate magna cum laude in your batch. Smart as you are, you buried your nose in books and notes as you studied to become a teacher, but lacked the confidence and charisma to be an effective one.

So the Dean thought this would be the perfect synergy. Damon's personality would rub on you, while your braincells will rub on his.

It was perfect.

And while you stood there with your eyes downcast, Damon's eyes widened as he stared at you.

It was love at first sight.

"Damon for the last time, it's School Based Management! Not Shoe Base Management! How did you even twist it to that?"

"Hehe, sorry y/n..."

*You sighed and crossed out the number.*

"5/50. How did your score got lower than the last time?! And it's a repeat test too!"

Rowan pouted and fiddled with his fingers. His eyes downcast as he appeared vulnerable.

You and Damon are in the library now, studying for the upcoming retake that Damon needs to take. But despite being here in the library for two hours, he still hasn't improved at all!

You stood up and glanced around, trying to see more books to use for studying. One preferably understandable for ding dongs like him.

Maybe a children's picture book of CPE 102 was needed for this guy.

You were harsh yet also patient with Damon, something he really likes. If he had a tail right now, it would wag rapidly to the point he'll break a bone in it.

All his thoughts is filled with you and you. The back of his notebook is scribbled with your name and his encased in a heart, crude drawings of you and him holding hands, or a silly children's game where he does a compatibility test using both of your names.

Neverminded that the test always ends up at "enemies" or "strangers", no no no... He won't accept it.

So these tests had large scribble marks all over him as words filled with rage about how the tests are lies are inked there.

And while Damon swung his feet while scribbling your and his future children's (yes, plural) names, he suddenly wondered where you are.

He got off his seat and walked around until he found you.

"Y/n--!"

He stopped dead in his tracks.

He felt shivers run down his spine.

There you where, smiling and bantering with an another man. Amicably talking to each other like you were the best of pals.

Damon recognized him from your class records (don't question why he knew your class records, he swears he's just doing research). Jupiter was his name, oddly enough. He's also a candidate magna cum laude and your study buddy. He's naturally gifted in academics and so does in his looks.

So when Damon saw how your eyes sparkled while talking to that guy...

He felt his façade crack.

Jupiter ran quickly across the lit yet empty rugby field in his University. Everyone was out for the school day since it was already 10pm.

How did Jupiter end up running away frantically with his clothes sticking on his body due to sweat?

It would be because of a masked man chasing him, power walking towards him with a metal baseball bat in hand. Jupiter can't see his face, but knew he's absolutely huge.

Jupiter ran as quickly as he can, but his body can't keep up. His legs weakened and his knee started to hurt as he heaved quickly. His vision swimming as he tried to run across and away from the man.

He's academic for god's sake! Physical activities are his mortal enemy!

As he cursed his hatred away, Jupiter tripped on a rock and rolled forward. His knee also finally gave up and is now hurting a lot.

Jupiter tried to scream for help, but all he could do is bite his lip as he held his poor knee.

Not until the man got close and clubbed him on that knee, making Jupiter scream in agony.

"AAAAAAAHHHH!!!"

That night, Jupiter's scream echoed throughout the empty rugby field and the sound of a hard object hitting a body. Then,

SQUELCH!

CRACK!

Then silence.

The masked man looked at the bloodied mess and chuckled. His small giggle turning into a full blown laughter as he tried to suppress it.

Damon grabbed a sharpie from his back pocket and scribbled on Jupiter's mangled body. His back, which is still somehow smooth, now contained your nickname and Damon's.

He's doing the compatibility test again.

"Soulmates! Oh my god!" Damon screamed in happiness. "Finally! Oh this is great! I shouldn't have doubted the test!"

Damon danced around Jupiter's body like he's not dead. Then, he kicked Jupiter's body. And kicked it. And kicked it. And kicked it more.

"Tch. You think you can smile at my soulmate like that? Think again buckaroo." Damon whispered, dropping his himbo jock persona.

This man had a sharp, intelligent look in his eyes. One that does not hold innocent curiosity, only a morbid bloodthirst.

This was the real Damon.

"Fuck. This dumb himbo persona is fucking me up. All I could do is put all my frustrations on sports." Damon spat out and kicked Jupiter's body towards his expensive truck. "I'm sick and tired of being labeled like that."

Then, he remembered your face. How he caught you staring at him with fondness as he acted dumb and cute.

He shivered.

"Maybe I'll continue to do this persona. Fuck. If only my parents would leave me be after that incident, then I won't have to do this."

Once Damon placed Jupiter's body on his truck, he started to clean the field with ease.

This wasn't his first kill after all.

He's always been twisted since he's a kid. But was forced to hide it due to his parents finding out he killed his cat with his own two hands with a smile on his face.

A trip to rehab, and he adopted this persona.

He slammed his truck close and drove away, humming and thanking that the University security cameras are broken.

He would kill more if necessary.

He's not afraid to dirty his hands. If ever, he loved it.

He looked at a picture of you and him in his dashboard. The picture was you smiling widely to the camera with a blushing Damon on the side, a test paper raised. It had full marks.

He kissed his finger and placed that finger on your lips.

I've been watching The Vampire Diaries lately as a show to kinda relax to without needing full attention and:

Kinda ship Bonnie/Caroline unfortunately I doubt this show has lesbians (but buffy had willow/Tara in the 90s so I wish this 2000s drama does -.-; I'll see I guess)

Kinda enjoy Tyler and Jeremy's scenes post 1x10 which I'm surprised by cause before I'd been rooting for Tyler to die

Damon/Elena are eons more interesting to me as a dynamic in that their scenes together have less predictability and more interesting outcomes (I get why elena/Stefan is a thing, they're both book loving reading nerds who like to talk about that stuff for hours and write diaries and spend quiet nights kissing/sleeping together and chatting about stuff they fan over basically - without the vampire old issue/Katherine ex situation they'd basically be a normal couple with shared interests, but like... as tv entertainment that's just not as fun to watch as ppl who do not get along and slowly need to learn to understand/interact. It's like angel/buffy versus spike/buffy or faith/buffy I suppose. Except I do appreciate stefan/Elena actually fight over "yr a vampire damn! People are dying I need to get AWAY this is fucked" and "I look like your dead ex what rhe fuck is wrong with you/any other secrets??!!!" Because like while it's still teen romance show level "I love you" ridiculously fast and unrealistically with a yikes vampire usual age gap lol, at least Elena's and stefans reactions seem somewhat more like real people would actually do? Whereas like... idk I usually see a much less realistic reaction of "wow people are dying I need to get away from you and reevaluate my view of the world goddamn".)

Bonnie makes me feel like I'm watching Charmed

Watching vampire stuff I'm glad there's a lot of death in this cause what even is a vampire story without people getting their blood drank? Also this show reminds me I've got my own vampire story I eventually want to write ToT but mines more itwv level bloody than teen angst. That said, i appreciate the slightly outside of high school elements of the show which remind me of charmed or buffy and give the impression this show CAN grow beyond a high school setting as the plot ages out of it, like buffy did, which gives it space to possibly do some cool stuff later on (that say a show like teen wolf bound inside teen-life couldn't really move to)

Thank goodness the show has some horror scenes and fights I really Can't focus without my action scenes lol

Like buffy (tho idk How better the writing will get) I can tell that around mid season 1 the writing shifted from Teen Show Pilot usual to having a more solid idea of the angle it wanted to go in. Caroline went from a "could be any teen extra" to a character with a clear personality, Bonnie went from only magic-show-plot element to someone who's friendships and enemies in the show matters, Matt and Jeremy as plain humans get a more defined characterization driven by their internal values more than only what's happening to them externally, Elena once she finds out vampires exists her character acts much more idk Likable to me? She's an everyday girl stand in, but with the knowledge of vampires her personal bg as someone fucked up by tragedies in the family and feeling death is inescapable to her (vampires all around and looking like a dead ex katherine), her desire to not see anyone else die and personally try to help stop vampires who are hurting people in town (despite being very mundanely human) gives her a solid backbone of who she is when put in a hard position. I liked her trying to fight a vampire alone with pencils and a broken broom - she doesn't succeed as she's a completely untrained and regular strength human but it shows she's got future potential and a trajectory, her trying to stop vampires from killing, her willing to go into danger, her willing to confront anyone, etc. She's showing some interesting traits specific to her that not every character Would do. Even Stefan with as little as I'm personally clicking with him, is making lets say Relationship choices that are distinct from Edward type or Angel type or Spike type or Lestat lol, so at least he's feeling like His Own individual character in a vampire story instead of a copy of someone else. He communicates eons better than Edward, saying he'll leave before leaving for someone's safety lol, and just in general open to conversations when conflicts come up more, he's mopey sure but not to the level of emo Angel from buffy is (and not quite as creepy tho he also stalked for a year lmao) and Lexi coming into town showed he's really not Endlessly pessimistic the way Louis or Angel would be. He's got a distinction versus other leading romance vamps, and although his dynamic doesn't have the enemies/rivals to friends to lovers I enjoy in watching a romance (bellamy/Clarke, lexa/Clarke, lucifer/Chloe, spike/buffy, louis/lestat etc) I do like that he feels like his own character to me. So I'm hoping like buffy the depth of characterization gets a bit better as time goes on for everyone. And the plot expands past high school as characters age up.

Damon and Stefan remind me of Dean and Sam. Yeah I know what I said ToT if supernatural went on 150 years and they turned into demons or vampires or whatever, both fell for the same girl, who's to say what coulda happened. All IM saying now is a crossover when they'd both been airing would've been hilarious.

I got taken on a weird date once, to see that sad and sick film of The Talented Mr. Ripley from the late 1990s, with Matt Damon—who, to be fair, is at his best playing complete scumbags. he’s so convincing! 😬

I don’t think I want to see that film again...though I’ve considered doing so, because the experience would be a powerful reminder of a certain time in my life. it’s super gross.

so is the Highsmith book, I’m sure, but I feel like I can tolerate repulsive reading far easier than I can handle the same material in cinematic form. maybe.

Aku dan Damon (Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town)

Waktu kecil saya gak main Harvest Moon. Saya cuma sering denger orang ngomong Harvest Moon Harvest Moon tapi saya gak ngerti itu apa. Saya gak relate sama pembahasan soal Popuri atau nostalgia theme songnya. Soalnya kan saya gak punya PS. Saya baru main Harvest Moon itu tahun ini, di bawah bimbingan suami saya. Bahwa Story of Seasons itu ya sebenernya Harvest Moon juga. Cuman kan saya gak tau the real Harvest Moon kek apa.

Pertama kali main, chara saya cowok, default. Waktu awal awal saya rajin bertani dan menambang sampe akhirnya saya cepet kaya. Setelah banyak duit, saya nggak tau lagi harus ngapain. Esensi gamenya apa? Kapan saya tamatnya? Kata suami saya, itu belom kaya, rumah belom diupgrade, sawah masih segitu. Tapi saya gak berminat. Hidup secukupnya aja yang penting kalo mau beli apa ada duitnya. Rumah buat apa bagus-bagus yang penting ada, toh yang berguna cuma kasurnya doang. Terus kalo semakin kaya, semakin banyak yang diurusin. Ah, ribet. Mana saya gak bersosialisasi dan kurang tertarik ngejar cewek. Akhirnya lama saya ga lanjut mainin.

Beberapa waktu lalu saya mulai mainin lagi. Kali ini saya pake karakter perempuan. Kalo perempuan siapa tau saya bisa lebih emotionally involved. Jadi lebih fresh juga. Saya gak banyak nanem biar ga terlalu cepet kaya. Dan karena saya perempuan, saya bisa cari cowok yang menarik hati.

Ini namanya Damon, anak tukang hewan. Kenapa saya suka Damon? Satu, karena dia tsundere. Dua, secara tampang dan style tipe saya banget. Tiga, dia oniichan. UGH. Hatiku tertancap panah asmara.

Saya jadi rajin nambang karena Damon suka batu berharga. Tiap pagi setelah ngurus sawah dan kandang, saya ngejar-ngejar Damon ke kuil buat ngasih hasil tambang kemaren sore. Harus bermodal sekali memang, ngejar Damon-kun ini. Tapi semua terbayar dengan event-event yang mengojlok-ojlokkan hatiku.

Abis jadian sama Damon, saya mulai bingung harus ngapain lagi, karena tetep aja saya kaya juga meskipun kerja seadanya. Suami saya menyemangati supaya saya terus main, “Masih banyak yang bisa dikerjain. Kawin sama Damon aja belom.”

Saya jadi mikir wah iya juga. Enaknya kali kalo nanti serumah sama Damon, mungkin nanti berladang dibantuin Damon. Mayan buat harvest-harvest. Akhirnya saya terus push rank sampe heartnya full dan, ya, saya berhasil menikah sama Damon.

Sungguh sangat happy rasanya menunggu hari pernikahan, sampe udah jam 18.20 itu saya belum sholat maghrib karena baru selesai upacara pernikahan sama Damon. Kayak orang gak jelas, naksir sama NPC. Tapi saya menantikan masa-masa berumah tangga sama Damon.

Ternyata kehidupan setelah menikah tidak seperti bayangan saya. Pengantin baru harusnya masih mesra. Ini apa. Begitu bangun tidur, Damon makan duluan. Saya sedih kenapa dia ga makan bareng saya. Tapi yaudah, kata-kata manis Damon bikin saya luluh. Ketika saya sibuk berladang, Damon malah keluyuran. Masih aja dia main sama Lars kek masih bujangan. Malem dia di rumah lagi, makan duluan. Saya tinggal tidur juga gak peduli saya tidur duluan. 

Yang paling bikin nyes sebenernya pas saya ada di sawah terus dia keluar rumah, jalan gitu aja gak pake ngomong, gak pake izin. Namanya juga NPC, kalo saya gak ajak ngomong, dia gak ngomong. Saya bersabar dan terus bersabar, tapi lama-lama saya gak kuat juga.

Semalem saya cerita sama suami saya kalo saya sedih karena merasa gak dianggap sebagai istri. Istrinya Damon maksudnya. Saya curhat kelakuan Damon ke suami saya. Boro-boro dibantuin di sawah. Orangnya aja kelayapan gak jelas. Mending kalo dia jadi bapak rumah tangga gapapa. Gapapa saya macul, ngapak, nambang, tapi dia di rumah nungguin saya pulang dan siapin makanan. Ini mah enggak. Musti disusulin ke kuil. Itu juga kalo dia lagi jalan ya udah lewat aja, saya gak diwaro.

Terus apa gunanya nikah??? Damon sayang gak sih ama saya???

“Bukannya Damon gak sayang, tapi dia NPC, diprogramnya gak secanggih itu,” kata suami saya. “Jangan pake hati. Ini kan bukan dating sims. Emang fokusnya bukan di situ.”

Lah terus kenapa saya dimotivasiin terus supaya nikah sama Damon???

“Yaudah cere aja sama Damon.”

“Enteng banget, ya! Aku gak mau! Aku udah capek-capek ngejar...”

Rumah tangga saya jadi ribut gara-gara rumah tangga Harvest Moon. 

Saya harus gimana... Inikah perasaan ibu-ibu Kahatex yang suaminya cuma sibuk ngurusin burung? Tapi seenggaknya ibu-ibu itu dianter jemput suaminya yang pengangguran itu. Lah saya, bener-bener gak diaro-aroin. Apa saya salah pilih jodoh? Apa Damon sebenernya belom siap nikah sama saya? Paling enggak kasih perhatian lah kek Jumin Han. Emang gak bisa ya dibikin tiap hari event biar yang main happy gitu? 😭😭😭
