in the city of rain, there’s a restaurant that has everyone talking and singing their praises. whenever you dare to venture into town, you can count on overhearing about it at least once, especially the closer it becomes to lunch or dinner time. yet you have never gone in the hundred or so years you’ve spent hearing about it, because to you, the idea of dining in what you imagine to be a crowded, confined space isn’t in the least bit appealing. you would much rather stay home as you always do, making do for yourself ( even if your cooking is only mediocre ).

but lately it’s become hard to resist when hakuno is the one asking you for anything.

still, you do hesitate. slight grimace mars your features briefly while you weigh your options― hakuno is always lovely company, and since it’s later in the afternoon ( drawing near evening, actually ), the restaurant probably won’t be too crowded... maybe just a couple late-lunch stragglers. so it can’t be too bad. and you’ve done this well for so long, keeping to yourself and avoiding suspicion in this city. the likelihood of anyone bothering you is slim to none, if you put your paranoia aside. and when you do, you see no reason to deny hakuno’s harmless request.

you will not admit that you wouldn’t deny her even if you did think trouble might arise.

❝alright,❞ comes the answer with a little nod. it’s a little more softspoken than you usually would be, but that’s come to be the norm when you’re with her. venom no longer laces your tone, edges disappear from your tone, and blunt words soften for her alone these days. you won’t yet speak out loud what that means, but you can admit to yourself, at least, that you readily consider her a friend― the first you’ve had beyond the other original wizards.

I just reread Percy Jackson and now I'm rereading Heros of Olympus and I thought which Greek god (there's also one Roman god that didn't have a Greek equivalent) would be the parent of kotlc characters? (Also this is mainly based on Google searches, Percy Jackson, and a big book of mythology I have)

Fintan, Marella, Brant and Dex's father as Hephaestus. This is because he's the god of fire, and Marella, Fintan, and Brant are all pyrokinetics. He's also the god of the forge and his cabin in the PJO books is shown to make stuff.

Oralie, Fitz, Biana and Alina's mother as Aphrodite. Alina as a daughter of Aphrodite because her beguiling is kinda like Piper's charm speak in Heros of Olympus.

Bronte and Tam's father as Hades. This is because Bronte and Tam's powers are kinda dark.

Zarina's father as Zeus, because he's the god of the sky and can control lightning, and Zarina can also control lightning.

Linh's father as Poseidon because Poseidon is god of the ocean and Linh can control water.

Keefe's father as Hermes because they're both mischievous.

Wylie, Maruca, Ruy, Ramira and Darek's mother as Lampetia. This is because they all have light based abilities and she is the goddess of light.

Sophie and Emery's mother as Athena. This is because they're both shown to be leaders and are strategic. Sophie's dad could also be Hades because she's an inflicter.

Clarette as a hunter of Artemis, I looked around a little on the web and saw that the hunters of Artemis were real just not called that but I couldn't find another name for them. I put Claretta as a hunter of Artemis because she's the goddess of wild animals, and when I think of Claretta the first scene that pops into my head is her using her polyglot ability to control that bug in Exile in book 4. Her mom could be Lampetia because im Unlocked it's revealed that she had a second ability as a flasher.

For Velia I think her godly parent could either be Hermes or Zeus. This is because Zeus is god of the sky and she's a guster. I also think it might be Hermes because he's the god of travelers and Velia is said in the books to be good with maps.

For Elwin I ran into the same thing with his godly parent being able to be Lampetia because he's a flasher, or Hermes because he's a healer.

Terik's dad as Janus because Janus is the god of choices, and middle ground, and with Terik being a desycryer and being able to sense potential he kinda represents choice.

Noland mother as Aoede because she's the muse of voice and song, and he's a vociferator.

Liora dad as Phanes because he's the Greek god of creation, and she's a conjurer.

This was my take, I'm curious what do you guys think?

Shocked and mostly surprised, she came back. He doesn't know what to do with their relationship anymore, he waited but was it enough for her?

ELLIANA — 32 — FIREFIGHTER

— Elliana's love life was always non-existent until MUSE B ( male / 26 - 30s ) came into her life. Somebody she saved in a fire who then seemed to attach himself to her, the firehouse is constantly visited by the male. Slowly she also became used to his constant presence especially when he got an admin job at the firehouse. Will they both confirm their attraction to one another?

VELIA — 28 — POLICE FORCE

— Velia's life was all about the police force until she was contacted by Zane about the corruption from within. It had turned her goal from helping them to destroying them. MUSE B ( female or male / 26 -35 ) is the only one who knows Velia's turned against the higher-ups. When they got captured, Velia turned the earth red in search of them. Their bond is like no other, will they ever say I love you to each other? TW: dark & minimal blood.

JOOHEE — 31 — SINGER

— Joohee's a singer, mainly known for the group Angelite as the youngest of them. Her solo career has hit it off since her debut, she has worked so much, taking little breaks here and there. Joohee has produced 6 albums and 10 mini eps since debut. Now enters childhood friend MUSE B ( female or male / 30+ ) someone who tells her to take a break, a long hiatus to rest but she's conflicted due to her suppressed feelings for them coming forward.

ZANE — 35 — CRIMINAL BOSS

— MUSE B ( female / 26 - 30s ) has worked for Zane since the start of his whole operation, he was the one who burdened her trauma and sent it to hell. Since then, she has been loyal to Zane and only Zane. So when another criminal syndicate implies she's a spy, Zane's mind turns dark. TW: sexual themes, dark, crime.

NICOLAS — 33 — CRIMINAL SECOND HAND

— Nicolas has a 5-year-old daughter Aliyah from a previous relationship that turned sour almost immediately. Nicolas sends Aliyah to daycare and pays MUSE B ( female / 26 - 30 ) to look after her on late nights or business trips. Aliyah started calling MUSE B 'Mother' and to Nicolas's surprise, he didn't mind it. He then brings up the conversation of marriage to her, mainly for the sake of his daughter...however they are attacked in broad daylight. TW: dark, crime, blood.

HYOJOON — 25 — CLUB OWNER

— Hyojoon owns and runs the most popular club in the country, he works for Zane. Using this club as a recon environment and nothing more. Yet when his eyes land on MUSE B ( female / 21+ ) being harassed in his own establishment, he doesn't take it lightly and deals with it on his own accord. Punching the guy and kicking him out of his club before turning to the shocked female who couldn't utter words, he lead her somewhere quiet and safe.

445: Untold Microcosms with writer and campaigner Velia Vidal

Hallo and welcome to another episode of Colombia Calling – I’m Emily Hart and this week I’m talking to Velia Vidal – author, journalist, campaigner, working from her homeland Chocó. She is the founder and director of the Motete Educational and Cultural Corporation and the Chocó Reading and Writing Festival. Velia Vidal is going to telling me all about her most recent writing project – a collaboration with the British Museum and the Hay Festival which brought together ten of Latin America’s most inspiring contemporary thinkers to examine the ways in which we curate narratives of our past through museums. Each writer took an object from the British Museum and contributed a chapter to the book, Untold Microcosms. It’s an amazing project which raises all kinds of issues about colonialism and power-relations, the narrative power of historical objects, the British Museum’s right to hold certain artefacts, and the erasure of Afro-Colombian history in hegemonic narratives. We’ll also be talking about life in Chocó, representation and mermaids, and the inspiration which can come from contact with your homeland – and the sea, Velia’s foremost muse.

Night:

“You can all move in, if you want,” Antonio said, grin stretching so wide it had to hurt. “Think of it—sleepovers every night!” “Don’t overdo it,” Paris said, but he was smiling too. Antonio smiled and wrung his hands together. Velia had the feeling he was doing it to remind himself not to kick the table out of the way and grab them all. He had so much feeling in him, Antonio, and Velia strongly suspected he hadn’t had anywhere to put it before.

Name:

Antonio made a waving motion with his hands. “It’s just that Wilhem is such a dreadful name, really unsuited to your whole…atmosphere of mystery, you understand. I mean, wouldn’t Rudolph be a terrible name for you? You really deserve something grand, like Leonardo, or mayhaps Horatio.” “Hmm.” Mr. Grey seemed unimpressed. “Yet Wilhem I remain.”

Fault: (that feeling when he sketches you but he can't see you lol)

Velia sat back, disgruntled. “It’s been a while, now, Paris Carlo. I don’t think your drawings are going to improve.” “Don’t be cross,” he said, looking down. “I’m not,” Velia lied. It wasn’t his fault, anyways. There wasn’t anything to be done about it.

Numb:

Velia eyed the sides of the car, and far below, the grass flashing by. Could she hang over without someone holding on to her? Probably. Then again, if the top hat man saw her and started shooting, then even a hand on her foot wasn’t going to keep her from tumbling over to her doom. Gunshot wound or crushed on the tracks? Velia mused, lying down and hissing slightly as her numb fingers first touched the chilled tin roof. The wind howled like a hoarse opera singer, and promptly blew her hair right into her face.
