I'm sick of people saying Game Freak developpers suck while they have never written a single line of code and/or have no idea how software development works.
Pokemon SV suck yes, but it's not the dev's fault.
If you want to blame someone, blame the shareholders. They are the ones who want a new major game each year and sell more plushies and cards.

List of every single manufacturer and how they honestly are
@autos-official: the one time we colonize something it went... bad. There is a reason for why we are SEVERLY against any misrepresentation of hercynian culture/history... We were the firemen once. But what we fought was not from this world. Ans so we cannot pity them. In our hubris we came out saying "never again" and we're the only ones remembering our vows. We hope that Project 118/Uuo is never brought to light again. And if it is... lets hope nobody figures out how it works. Also AUTOS-NEOS replaces "esoteric" for "rugged" if you want our brand but you want a mech that isnt... paracasualty on legs (LISTEN OUR ENGINEERS AND ARCHITECTS HAVE THEIR PROBLEMS ALREADY LEAVE THEM ALONE 🥺)
@general-massive-systems: you want a mech that, while boring, at least isnt Fucked Up 69 Ways From SecComm? Good then youre stuck with GMS. I mean, respect for sticking to the roots but come on you gotta agree the non-bullshit things cant be all GMS
@officialunionhr: finally! Someone actually giving a shit about the civilians!
@harrison-armory-official: look, your mechs are cool and all, but come the fuck on cant you at least PRETEND to be better than your past? Or at least make a mech that isnt one hot day away from a meltdown???
@ssc-official: half of your mechs are ONE HULL PERSONALIZATION AWAY (which is avaiable at LICENSE LEVEL FUCKING ZERO) from being straight outta R34. Seriously i get "sleek and elegant design" but HALF OF YOUR MECHS HAVE CHILD BEARING HIPS. HALF OF YOUR FANS ARE COOMERS AND YOU WONT ACCEPT IT A-
@ips-northstar-official: you guys are... somewhat cool i guess??? I mean, all that weird pirate shit has been a thorn in your side for like, a century or two too many. I would ask Union to check if someone in the chain of command is doing shady shit about pirates. Seriously.
@horus-unofficial: i get the NHP relationships but uhm... guys, with all due respect. Dont unleash unshackled NHPs on somewhere inhabited. Like maybe when its someone about to "Reference SecComm" but other than that... why would you? Also that whole "lich licenses have always been there" thing is bullshit. UPDATE👏YOUR👏FUCKING👏SOFTWARE

lest reality may gaslight me...........
i admit there's this growing jealousy of mine when she talks about her escapades in coding. it kinda reminded me how little i know, when in fact i should know this.
now the semester's coming (yep i got enrolled, thank god) i did what most people do when they're dunno what the heck things would do: ask their nearest person
"so, honest question, do you think we're work-ready?" "i dont think so. why's that?" "if beginners nowadays can code RISC-V like it was nothing, what's left to us? sure we can say we studied this course for like 4 years but... isnt that a waste?" "i mean... yeah? i mean even the webdevs of our course were really cocky. no one even taught us AI. heck, our classmates are working on BPO. nothing wrong about it but it's such a waste of skill" (some context on the text above: the mate's specializing in AI. also some of us know webdev. at least we can deploy XAMPP and call it a day. others feel fancy with their javascripts. the second person also has a knack of wanting to make a RISC on their own. welp) and i'm still here being jealous with even seeing double colons on code, or even a simple coding example. i just cant do this anymore. it's filled with spite and i dunno where to channel that frustration: i need to learn this. but i cant. and i'm demotivated.
then she started planning on making a compiler.
we never had that kind of stuff in my course. so in confusion, i asked my mates who were studying outside of my cooleg
"hey y'all made compilers in your course?" "yeah." and idk what to say. i just wasted 4 years of my life. just. gone
"why didnt you take a course that has a license? i mean, with that entrance exam score you're set to every course" because i liked it here. but now it's just a lie.
and i wasted 4 years of my life here.
i remembered the Cult Leader (my prof, not really a cult leader but their messianic complex is HARD) said to us: "what's the use of learning low level? everything's done in web these days" as my mates and i were doing system calls on our devices.
and the worst of it all was the fact that my bff told me a real cold hard truth accidentally:
"hey did you know? your course is just a minor on this other engineering course"
lol i have no pride left in my what is essentially me, my hobby, my joy, my life. not only im dumb, but i know nothing
so, there are two options left for me:
just cry about it.
accept that everything is mediocre and you need to walk on your own, spite and all
while eating my lunch today, i told to myself i need a focused learning of all the things i wanna learn to. no i wont speak it beacause im afraid it wouldnt come to fruition
i wanna apologise to her tbh. not only she didnt know, i just dunno what she talks about 80% of the time. i like it when she's around, and i like it when she's eager on something. sorry ><
kinda disappointing that i'll go back on 4th year instead of 1st year. i definitely need that introductory class.
all i got in the end was... please dont tell your hobbies, because if you do you'll feel insecure about it when you find you dont hobbied hard enough
or maybe stuck myself reading philosophy books, whatever.
P.S.
so i asked myself wtf are we geared upon??? and welp it was obvious in hindsight, and in that one startup i worky on: it's all about building systems, the macro scale. hell we have prereqs for software engineering and another one for the Master's course
and while washing the dishes, i though like: COME ON, THAT'S EASY! IT'S EASY TO FOLLOW PARADIGMS AND JUST MIRROR IT AS IS! ANYONE CAN BUILD A MODULAR SYSTEM, OR EVEN A MONOLITHIC ONE, COME ON!!!!
sorta like the disconnect between businessmen talking about their plans 10 years (they always talk about this) vs friends planning a vacation 12 hours in advance. the first one dont need that much mental flex, only daydreaming.
...probably this is why the trend seems to be microservices, where they all struggle to keep their modularity in check. and now they removed the ethics board. they wanna think about futures, but not the present. may they rot in peace.
p.p.s
ok if you ask me what i wanna learn, it'll be HDL (verilog?) on the mondays, C/Rust on the tuesdays (cant decide. fuck it PSP time), RISC-V on the wednesdays, MIPS on the thursdays (fuck it PSP time), and friday's just Cebuano. saturday and sundays are for dumb time. cant decide how to tho. you can prolly do algorithms on any of those but that would be silly unless it's higher level i seriously wanna learn like functional languages, or languages near the theoretical side of things. we dont have the math touch in our hands and in fact we only have like 2 semesters of calculus.
this isnt prolly gonna be in fruition considering i laze around and dont have the will for anything than breathing and living
im kinda excited what shits will do in our embedded systems class. they said it's all arduino and stuff, why not go nuts? i guess.
there's 2 days of Neural Networks. no we wont build exotic stuff like GANs or something.
sigh. even with all this, i'm still dumb.

When No One's Around...
Chartered accountant!Jaebeom x Software engineer!Reader
Summary :
Ever wonder how much alcohol tolerance can Jaebeom have for you? Read till the end to find out ;)
Warning :
1) This chapter.....is a long ass ride.
2) I know some people prefer using their name, but I only realised it later that instead of (Y/N) I accidentally gave reader-nim a name, i.e, Yeseul. So kindly bear with me as it's my first time writing a 2nd person perspective and just imagine your own name in its place. Thankyou and.....enjoy!

Tumblr media
You finally had finished your board meeting and were heading out of the office building with your co-workers to retire to your humble abode.
"It's 7:37 pm ladies and gentlemen, and we are finally free for the night.", said Sarah, one of your close colleagues.
"Aaaand we're leaving 2 hours later than the designated office hours. This is over time!", exclaimed Kyunghwan, your senior, and sales manager. It was totally unusual but justified for everyone to feel this way. After such a heated discussion about the proposals everyone was exhausted and acted dramatically. Even though they were your seniors, almost everybody still treated each other without the honorifics outside of work; albeit they could seem eccentric given the time and place. You yourself had experienced it first hand and maybe tonight had just a little bit more in store for you.
" Everyone, I totally understand how you must feel.....", stated Mr. Yoon-ho, the team director. "We, are not getting paid enough. Let's go to a restaurant and give ourselves a well deserved treat. The person who is wearing blue today will be the ones to pay up!", came his suggestion.
Hearing his sudden offer, each person constituting the 8 people group cheered and hooted but started checking their dress colours as the realization hit in. 'Oh thank god, I'm wearing anything but blue today' , everyone thought simultaneously.
However everyone's eyes landed on you as you were the only one wearing a turquoise blue ruffle shirt with beige coloured cigarette pants. And everybody knew exactly where that suggestion in the director's mind had come up.
' Oh lord, it's Yeseul again.'
Firstly, Yoon-ho was a huge-ass spend-thrift. Even if he knows he wont eat or use something, he would still spend money on it. Especially when it's someone else's money.
And secondly, he despised you. You and your intelligence. And the fact that you were humble made it even worse for him.
Atleast one can hate on arrogant people for their arrogance. As for humble people, we can't even hate them for anything, much less like. Tch.
Sarah, concerned for you asked if you were okay with that. Not that you really had a choice in the first place.
But you had stopped listening-in to their conversation, midway. Because your eyes were solely fixated on this unexpected visitor, standing right across the road, leaning against his car and looking right at you.
Im Jaebeom, your soon-to-be fiancè, in all his glory was right in front of you and you had no idea what he was doing there.
"Sarah, I'll see you later."
Coming to your senses after 3.57 seconds, you waved back at him and quickly crossed the road to reach him.
" Yeseul, hey" started Jaebeom.
"Uh, hi! I didn't know you were here. How have you been?", unsure, you asked him.
"I've been good. I got off work early today so I decided to pick you up like a responsible boyfriend", smirked Jaebeom.
He had his hands in his pant pockets the whole time, was wearing a suit with his hair gelled up and looked like the epitome of a perfectly successful banker.
"How long had you been waiting?", you questioned. "Not too long, about 20 minutes? .... Yeah. Don't worry though, I was busy on my phone." He lied. He knew you'd feel even worse about the truth because in reality he had been waiting for you since two hours thirty-seven minutes and sixteen seconds.
But even then you insisted, " Now this makes me look really bad. You didn't have to come all the way here. Why didn't you call me?"
"I wanted to be here", he replied cheekily and pat your head. "And it was a good surprise, wasn't it?"
(Sighing) "what if I already went home or I was staying in late?"
"Well then lets just say I got lucky" he smiled.
You were about to say something further, but he cut you in, " By the way, your...... colleagues, they seem... expectant?" Looking back at them you see them all wide-eyed and smiley-faces as if they just didn't come out of an exhausting office day. Realizing their expressions , you turned and asked Jaebeom, " oh, um, Jaebeom-shi, you're not too tired, right? Have you eaten something?"
"No, not really, why?"
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
" HA, HA, HA, HA, HA! WHAT A NIGHT MAN, WHOO!!" roared a drunk Mr. Yoon. "Wow, Yeseul, you have such a nice boyfriend, he's a keeper, hahahaha. Everyone! say, 'THANKYOU IM JAEBEOM-SSI!'.
Bashfully, everyone complied, giving you sorry smiles and yet enjoying the food and drinks in front of them as if it was their first time eating.
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
Since the time the talks of you about to being engaged rounded up in the halls of your office, everybody had been eager and curious to meet this Mr. Perfect who they had only seen in photos. Everyday not only the women but also your male coworkers would come over at your desk asking you to set up a get together with him.
They all wanted to know who this mysterious person was, taking a liking for someone as stoic as you. They never imagined you being in a relationship with anyone- always holding the title of 'Fashion Femme Fatale'.
So now here you were- with Jaebeom- and a gang of 8 people who were doing nothing but wasting Jaebeom's hard earned money.
Yes, he offered to pay up in your stead.
Ah! So chic!
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
You were getting really uncomfortable because you felt bad for Jaebeom who was nothing but sweet to everyone all this time. You were barely starting off in a relationship and now he had to witness all of ....... this.
You wanted to just take your bag and run away with him.
"Hmm, Yeseul , how long has it been since you guys started dating?" Asked Yoon-ho.
Huh?
" uh, it's been about...... 2 months?" you replied looking at Jaebeom for confirmation. After getting his nod of approval you continued, "why do you ask though, sunbae-nim?"
"Ah! I didn't get to congratulate you. First of all....... let me pour you a drink!"
"What, out of nowhere?"you retaliated.
"Ahem! I'm your superior."he countered. "You didn't even touch anything yet, Drink~ bottoms up~~".
In the midst of his coercions, you contemplated- 'Why... do I get intimidated by Yoon-ho ssi? .... Soju's too strong ...... Jaebeom won't be able to drive if he drinks it.... house is far tooo. *sighs* it's over for me if I get drunk and act like an idiot in front of them.... hhnnngg. But if I refuse, the mood will get cold.... last time I was fine for the first few drinks, right?-"
"Give it to me."interceded Jaebeom.
"Huh?"
Turning towards the crowd, he stated, "Yeseul's bad with alcohol. I'll drink for her."
"Ooo~ hahahaha~~"
"playing the knight for your girlfriend ? ~~ "
"so cool!! Whoa~"
Sighing you looked at him, starting to get a little worried. But suddenly everyone chimed in- "still! We're not satisfied with one drink!"
"Let's get Yeseul-ah drunk~!"
"Me too!"
"You cant resist our drink! We're your superiors!"
"Aah~ now, let's not push her too hard. Take it slow. Slow~" said Yoon-ho, giving you his ever so sweet smile.
'It is you I hate the most!' You thought.
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
"Aah~ Jaebeom-ssi drank them all"
"~Food is great here!"
"Heard this is the hidden place for gourmets."
After a while things seemed to settle down, your thoughts again wandered towards Jaebeom-
'He keeps on tapping his fingers and feet.... all the while maintaining his smile. I wonder if he's getting bothered by them..... ' -
"Hey~ she cant take her eyes off her BOYFRIEND!" chirped Yujin( colleague, same age as you). Following suit everyone got started off- "He's good looking right?" " you didn't even glance at the others ~" "what ? No, when did I.. " you tried to defend yourself. Sarah who was sitting next to you all this time whispered, "don't take them too seriously 'seul- ah, they're only teasing you, and you know everyone is as good as drunk."
Suddenly Kyunghwan, who was sitting opposite to you, waiting for the right opportunity slipped in~ " You can take mild Brandy right?"
"Ah yes, I can"
"NO." Jaebeom interceded. Again.
He took the glass from his hand and drank it.
"Aish intercepting it all, gosh!"he exclaimed.
But leaving no stone unturned, he kept pressing, "hey! You guys are a couple, atleast show us a kiss!" And everyone started hooted demanding such a public display of affection.
Hearing this, your ears flared up, " oof, what's with you all? Dont you think it's too much? ..... please stop it already. I dont really want to do it. ........Why do we have to do it in front of you?"
Now this... was just too much. Right when you were about to give them a piece of your mind-
"Okay."Jaebeom announced.
" ...... "
" ....... "
" ....... "
What.
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
The truth is that both of you had never really kissed before, the closest form of affection you were able to showcase for now was simply a hug, that too only when you were alone. You had no idea what went through his mind when he agreed to everyone's plea. Was he finally drunk? You had never seen him drunk before, all though a few of his friends that you had met told you he had a strong temperance. Maybe this was okay for him?.... Did he probably hear it wrong? Not being able to make head or tail of the situation you questioned him, "Jaebeom-"
"You....... and you." Cutting you off, said person pointed at Kyunghwan and then at Yujin.
"If you two do it, we'll do it too. In fact, it doesn't matter if any other two do it either." explained Jaebeom with a smile.
And then you realised what he was actually doing.
"Don't want to, right?..... I stink of alcohol and 'seul said she doesn't want it. Moreover, it won't look good, if a lady's colleagues at work would act like this, much less her seniors."
"Uh. . . . " a flustered Yujin tried to speak.
" Well I wasn't going to force her to do that" resigned Kyunghwan with a pout.
"Yeah let's just forget about it, okay guys? ", Sarah spoke.
"Wow~ get married already Yeseul, reqally" Said Yoon-ho.
"Such a perfect couple. Tch" mumbled Yujin.
However, when everyone went back to their own, Kyunghwan caught Jaebeom giving him a side glance with a poker face who then turned to look at you. Even though such a gesture unnerved him, the alcohol immediately brushed off that feeling.
You on the other hand were getting more and more worried about Jaebeom, you lost count of how many glasses he must've had on your account, and tried one more time to check up on him- " are you alright? You've been really drinking a lot." But he only gave you a smile in return.
(Sighing) 'He drank way too mu-' *plop*
His head suddenly on your shoulder now, he spoke, " I want to rest."
Looking at you Sarah whispered," He must be tired, you should go home now, don't worry, I'll take care of it here."
"Okay. Jaebeom-ssi ....... Jaebeom? Let's go home now, ok?" You asked.
"Seul."
"Yes?"
"My head aches."
"What? Headache?"
"Its too noisy here..... my head aches.....". Alarmed by this sight you wondered ' 'why's he like this ? Since the start he seemed a bit off. Is his head hurting from being drunk? This was such a bad idea."
You see him gently lift his head up and stare at his hands. Or the table. Or the plate? You see jaebeom blink.
"..."
And he blinked again.
'Ohmygod,he's definitely drunk.'
" uhh, hey- let's go get some fresh air, okay?" You asked holding him by the shoulders. You never witnessed something like this before. But he just stared at you.
'Answer me already.' You thought. Helping him stand up you took your bag, "okay, Sarah, we'll be leaving now, I'll catch you tomorrow, take care!"
"Yeah, you too, goodnight~" returned Sarah.
Once outside you tried to remember where the car was, since the restaurant didn't have a parking lot. You walked a few meters and then stopped. Due to him leaning on you, your back and neck hurt a little, so you decided to sit on the nearby bench. 'Ah, I'm out of strength.'
You both just sat next to each other like that for a while and then you asked him where the car was kept.
But he just smiled at you.
Heaving a sigh, you stood up and started searching around. "Just sit here, and dont move Jaebeom- ssi, I'll be right back." He saw your retreating figure as you left.
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
After about 10 min you find the car at the backside of the building and return to where Jaebeon was.
"I found the car, give me the keys and I'll drop you off home" you said.
"Yeseul."
"Yes?"
He smiled. Again.
"Seems like you won't get up for a while." So you sat down. Did he even listen to a word you said? And no sooner than you did, he reached his hand out to touch your face, whereas you instinctively moved back. He paused for a moment, mid air, and then touched your cheek. "You look tired", he said thoughtfully.
Well he wasn't completely wrong.
He let his head drop on your shoulder, and again with the same sweet, mellow voice recited you name," Ye.seul.ah."
"Yes, yes I hear you." You laughed.
"I should've just left with you after work was over rather than come here. Everyone just wanted to meet you so bad. I'm sorry."
" . . . "
"Plus I didn't want you to pay for those guys." You confessed.
"Pay?", queried Jaebeom. "seeing how they sat and behaved with you , it's obvious that they were trying to leech off." He finally spoke.
" Yeseul, I want you to be very cautious and smart about who you associate yourself with in that work place and any where else. I won't always be around you, so you must be wary of people like Kyunghwan. Got it?" And then he lifted his head up to stare straight ahead.
So that's what was bothering him.
Trying to lift the strange tense atmosphere you spoke in childish wonder, "how dare they think of you as a pushover! In fact, why did you even drink whatever came my way, I could've handled-"
"What would you have done?" Cut in Jabeom.
You fell silent.
"Those two men and that woman, those three were your seniors. And anyone could notice how they exploited their position. I understood you couldn't do much from where you stand", he reprimanded you.
After a pause he continued, now in a smaller voice- "I dont think I can drive, how will you get back home?"
" Well thanx to a certain someone, I'm completely sober. So I'll drive your car to your house and drop you off. Then I'll take a cab to mine."
" 'seul?"
"Hmm?"
"You like me right?"
"Huh", you sat up straight, taken off guard by his question.
"You're sincere to me right? Whatever I do, I have always been sincere towards you."
Suddenly flustered by this uncharacteristic side of him you just tried to avoid his question, staring straight ahead.
"Just give me the car keys, let's go home now..." you said in a daze.
'Its definitely the alcohol in his brain.'
"Yeseul!"
"Ah, yes-"
chu!~~
"Wha..."
Chu!~~~
Jaebeom kissed you.
And the realization hit in.
Huh.
Huh???!!
" #$%@&**?! Jaebeom-!!! "
" ? "
"What are you ?! Why did you?!-"
"Hm? What? No one's around."
And he kissed you again. This time properly. Making you feel nothing like ever before.
▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎▪︎
Sadly, he ended up passing-out right after and you drove him back to his house, aided the house-helper lay him on bed, took a cab, went back to your home, changed into your night clothes, slipped in your bed and you laughed. You laughed until sleep graced you with her presence.
Except she never came. You were awake the whole night, rewinding and playing the scene again and again with the thought that would nag any other girl in your shoes- 'How do I see him after tonight! '.

Kurosaki Makoto - Between the Lines (1)
How long had it been since he had been knocked out?
Kurosaki Makoto could not ask or receive an answer as Darkness had filled his vision. he had remembered working a bit later than he had planned and had ended up going back to his house. However, the last thing he remembered was a black van coming out of nowhere and being grabbed by some guys.
And that was simply it. Nothing else he could think of that happened afterward he recalled.
But in that darkness, he had been given large amounts of information as various images came into his head. This was the result of his power that he had been born with for the better part of his life.
The first image he saw was that of a large city. The buildings and architecture were unique in design but Makoto felt as though he had seen it before. he could not place his finger on it, but it looked like something he had seen on TV or in a magazine.
the second was what looked like a conflict going on between armed people as well as with people with supernatural abilities? Based on the gear both sides was wearing he could tell that it was between what looked like armed criminals and some kind of specialized law enforcement.
The third was that of a helicopter that looked unfamiliar to him. It appeared that the helicopter in question had wings on it, six or so and it was armed with machine guns and missiles. Makoto shuttered thinking just how dangerous this thing was. It looked like something that would be used to be deployed in Afghanistan or something and the amount of destruction it could cause was something that he rather not want to think about.
The fourth was a bit odd. two figures leapt into the air and were clashing . One of them seemed to have wings, but the other did not. he couldn’t tell who the identities of the figures were, but he got the sense that they were people not to be messed with.
And the last one was something he couldn’t make sense of. In the image, he only saw one person, a boy with black hair, appearing to be styled in a distinct way that made it appear spiky, and appeared to be a few years younger than Makoto himself. His face expression seemed agitated as far as he could tell, and he even appeared to be yelling. But he could hear no such words.
He wondered what this all meant? What was that city? Who were those people, and why was he seeing a vision surrounding people he had never seen before? What had that spiky haired boy so angry? he pondered these questions before light suddenly filled his eyes.
*************
Tumblr media
“...?!”
Makoto awoke in an unfamiliar place.
It appeared as though he was in a room with very minimal to nonexistent lighting and no matter how much he looked, he couldn’t see a thing.
He had been about to ask where he was, but then suddenly, a bright light turned on directly in his face, causing him to want to shield himself from the brightness.
However, as he tried to do so, he found that he was handcuffed to both sides of the chair, unable to raise his hands.
Tumblr media
“Hey! What the hell? What is this?!”
“Greetings, Kurosaki Makoto.”
A mans voice spoke out from in front of him. it appeared as though he was behind whatever was causing the bright light, however, he could not see the figure well at all.
“I’m sure you have lots of questions. Mainly where are you, why are you strapped to a chair in a undisclosed location, and who might I be. I will provide you with answers.”
The man spoke, although the mechanical tone of it seemed to suggest that whoever this was is using some kind of software to hide his voice.
“To start off, my real name is unimportant, but you may simply refer to me as The General. That’s what everyone here calls me anyway. Secondly, you are no longer in the town you were brought in from. You are in Academy City, the city of science. An outsider like you should know what that is, right?”
Makoto narrowed his eyes. Anyone who didn’t know what Academy City was would have been living under a rock up until now. This City was well known around the world, and especially in Japan where it was based in for its scientific development and research into esper powers. He knew that such a city produced espers that were similar to him, although unlike Makoto who was born with his ability that manifested at an early age, the espers there were developed through drugs and machines. Then, they would be given some kind of rank or level that determined the output and application of such powers.
Makoto knew that much, and that the people who were considered normal were called Level 0s or something along those lines. But what was he doing in such a hyper advanced city to begin with? he was an esper, a Gemstone to be exact, but he had no connection to that city whatsoever.
Tumblr media
“...What do you want?”
“We are a group that is seeking to overthrow the oppressive regime that is Academy City. More exact, we want to put those stronger than us level 0s in their place and prove that we can defeat a Level 5, just like how A Certain Unknown Level 0 had once defeated the Accelerator and the Railgun. To that end, we need your assistance. We need your power and your presence to do some jobs with us.”
Tumblr media
“Oh yeah? And why the fuck should I join you? I have nothing to do with your little spat with this city nor do I care. I just want to get back to my ordinary life and not be bothered with crap like this.”
Makoto thought he had seen the figure behind him move his hand. It looked like he had something in his hand but for all he knew, it could have been a weapon.
He thought that they were going to threaten him at gun point, or maybe signal someone to come in and beat him up until he complied. His watching of western movies had influenced that line of thinking in what they were going to do to him.
But it ended up being much worse, despite it not posing any real harm to him at all.
The General threw what appeared to be four photos on the ground in front of him and upon seeing the photos, he thought he was about to go into cardiac arrest on the spot.
In those pictures was a girl, one he had come to know so well in the past week or so. It was the same girl who had revealed so much, who had admitted she had feelings for him, and who he had promised to not hurt and stay by her side, despite still being unsure of whether or not he had feelings for her to the same degree that she did for him.
Tumblr media
“Y...You....”
As he stared at the photos, something chilling had just occured to him. These guys knew his full name, where he worked, and probably where he lived. It would make sense that they would also know who he talked to which, was not that many people before Grete had come along.
And for some reason, they also knew about his ability to see into the near future, something that only a handful of people knew. Makoto felt as if he had been violated. How long had these people been watching him? How much did they know about his life?
“Mamoru Grete was it? It would be a real tragedy if she were to get caught up in a... unfortunate accident.”
The General said, almost in tempting voice which caused a gear in Makoto to turn loose.
Tumblr media
“Hey! Don’t drag her into your bullshit! She’s a completely normal person! She has nothing to do with your shitty movement or whatever the hell you call this is!”
“As I said, we need you to do a couple of jobs for us. If you manage to successfully carry them out without fucking it all up, then we will return you home and we wont have our... associates on the outside do anything to her. Now that you know what is at stake here, I will ask you one thing, and one thing once; Will you join our cause?”
Makoto gritted his teeth. This was worse than holding a gun up to his head. Someone he had sore he would never have hurt was being threatened, all so he could join their organization and work for them in a conflict he had no interest in whatsoever. It was scummy, and it pissed him off to his very core how they could be allowed to do something like this.
But in the end, what choice did he have?
He could be defiant, outright reject his “offer” and tell him to eat shit and die, but then this General guy could have his people on the outside mobilized and Grete would end up meeting an unfortunate fate, something that he very much wanted to avoid. Incidentally, they could always just kill him and dump his body in a ditch somewhere, which also terrified him.
Kurosaki Makoto wanted to live, and he also wanted Mamoru Grete to live and have a happy life.
So when it came down to it it was obvious what Makoto was going to do.
Tumblr media
“...Alright. I’ll do it. I’ll join you and do whatever you ask me to do. Just don’t hurt her.”
The person known as the General smiled, although it was one that could not  be seen.
“A smart choice.”
The person stepped out from the darkness behind the light and Makoto felt something cut the chains that bound him to the chair. The General held out his hand, as if expecting him to shake hands.
Tumblr media
“Welcome to the cause Makoto-kun. Welcome to MINUS.”

Should You Customise Your New ERP Software Solution?
Are you contemplating upgrading or purchasing a replacement ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution for your business? Wouldn’t it’s great to possess one that, right out of the box, did everything you’ll imagine, and more importantly, everything that your business requires?
No one ever wants to spend overtime and money on customizations. In fact, outdated or dysfunctional customizations are a reason companies search for a replacement ERP system within the first place! But a replacement ERP system that doesn’t do what you would like it to try to are going to be even as useless as your old one. While we don’t wish to recommend customization for its own sake, sometimes it’s the simplest approach. The trick is to understand when to customize and when to not.
What does one need your software to do?
The question of customization comes up early within the ERP selection and implementation project. A beginning step may be a gap-fit analysis. A gap-fit analysis maybe thanks to checking out aspects of a business to match its current state against a perfect or preferred state. Your users will detail their existing business processes and compare what they have to try to or want to try to, with the functionality offered within the new solution. Then project teams will find out the way to close the gap between the 2. they will either change the business process or modify the software to suit existing processes. There are pros and cons to every approach.
Pros and cons of customization
Asking users to vary their familiar processes are often risky. they’ll become experts and are wont to doing things one way; asking them to vary the routine drastically carries the danger of their resisting and failing to adopt the new system. we might encourage users to think about adapting their processes to the software, but if resistance is just too strong, customization could be the simplest choice.
However, albeit customization may, within the short term, be easier, require less training, and keep users happy, within the future, it’s going to come to haunt you. Customizations must be maintained and updated, and, if performed improperly, they might affect the integrity of your new system. So, how does one decide?
Ask the proper questions
When considering customization, ask yourself, “how will this customization affect my business? Will it make us more competitive within the marketplace?”
Each business is exclusive. Your business processes drive this uniqueness. An ERP implementation can make your company more efficient, save on long-term costs, and in many cases, be essential to your company’s growth. But losing a number of your key processes thanks to a no-customization policy isn’t worthwhile. Determine if the business process is a component of what differentiates your company within the market. In other words, is it essential to the way you are doing business?
Strive to take care of what causes you. By applying this rule consistently, you’ll retain what’s unique about your company, while still realizing all the advantages of a contemporary ERP system.
The excellent news is that customizations aren’t as invasive as they wont to be.

I am about to start writing my dissertation; do you have any magical advice to soften the brutal blow of what is to come?
None of this is magical I promise! But I hope it helps :)
If you haven't picked a topic yet - don't just go for the first thing that appears because you're worried about deadlines for proposals. We were told about research opportunities in the department but could find our own supervisors. I had no clue what I wanted to do and met with a few of the supervisors and discussed their research. I ended up doing something original which came from a tangent of a conversation with one supervisor.
I did an online survey for data collection, I cant speak for lab work/meta analysis/review work much but some of this will probably still apply:
Be persistent - I emailed over 30 universities, sent it to friends, put it on a load of facebook groups etc to get the survey posted in places, you'll get a better response and i know I did enough and got a good sample
One thing I wish I'd done was write more of my introduction as I was waiting for data collection. It depends on whether you're doing other modules at the same time or maybe if you have more active data collection you wont have time
Plan a date/number of participants to stop data collection and stick to it! Unless you are really really struggling with participants and need to keep it open longer but if not, dont just say "oh maybe another week" because if things go wrong later and you run out of time for two extra responses you'll kick yourself
Aa dissertation will need editing. Serious editing. Leave time for it. I finished the discussion just under 3 weeks before the deadline, I got the first draft without the discussion to my supervisor a month before the deadline
Dont be afraid to ask stupid questions, and loads of them. Use your supervisor dont struggle on your own
Document everything! Who you've contacted, who replied, how you decided which participants would be in what group, which statistical tests you did, which participants you removed etc. You'll thank yourself when you're writing methods!
Even if you leave references to the end, as you write, add something thay reminds you. I tended to do {first author surname, year}. Then when I was checking, i searched for { so that I didnt miss any as I was changing them
And this which has been my life saviour not just for the dissertation but for essays this year in general:
Mendeley. This is a referencing software, it's free, it integrates with Microsoft word and there is a chrome plugin which will get the reference details of any paper you are looking at and can download pdfs (if you have access to the paper). Obviously you still need to double check that its accurate but it is such a time saver. Then when you're writing you can use the Word plugin to add them as you go and it creates a bibliography. I find it a lot easier to use than endnote and you can access your library online as well.
That's all I can think of right now! But good luck with your dissertation :)

Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e audit: A offer that is unbeatable
Pills  are less predominant as they was. No large Surprise that imports happen to be at a state of rust for a time. Perhaps it doesn't be at that when cellular mobiles can cut a specialization . While Samsung is trying to create cell-phones something, it is maybe perhaps not abandoning tablets. The Galaxy Tab S 4 it mimicked was a very Adequate product. We appreciated that the company had came back to a 16:10 widescreen group. It offered degree specifications. On the off likelihood that you enjoyed it didn't buyin light of this expense label, Samsung currently has got the gadget the Galaxy Tab S5e. It's obtained ahead of the successor, that could be called the Galaxy Tab S 5 of the Galaxy Tab S4.Can it be advisable for you to Hold to your own Galaxy put or pill funds to a Galaxy Tab S5e now? That's the matter which people will find within our poll.

Prepare for those who get to become Inundated the event Your palms over the Galaxy Tab S5e. This really could be definitely the most slim (5.5mm) and lightest (400g) pill which Samsung has constructed. It's comfortable and very mobile to live with. You observe it is there and may throw it. As it's so light, you may truly easily watch your favorite shows or jumble around for a long number of years without a massive distress. The metal frame made there's no glass at the trunk such as the Galaxy Tab s 4 and much feels superior. There is a electricity grab having an finger Impression sensor beneath that you may see the space and the volume rocker. The border bends in to the power grab because you run your finger across 21, and that means that you are able to detect the grab. The interface that is USBC reaches the bottom whereas the pogo-pins are all on the left side. You will ask why we haven't referenced the 3.5millimeter earphone jack. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e does not have you. You can obtain yourself a connector at the cage to use ear phones that are wired throughout the port. The Galaxy Tab S5e's AMOLED WQXGA (2560×1600) reveal with 16:10 angle ratio is definitely some thing to stay connected with home approximately. This is really a display that is similar that you hop onto the Galaxy Tab s 4. The bezels are slight and adequate as there's path grabs and no residence. They are nearly"Vastness Screen" slight yet slimmer than any other Samsung tabletcomputer, giving abundant distance to break your thumbs while holding your gadget. Whatever the instance, very similar to this Galaxy Tab s 4, the Galaxy Tab S5e in addition will not need an IP evaluation for deposit and water obstruction therefore that you may possibly have to be mindful deploying it by the swimming pool.
Galaxy Tab S5e sound and show:
The display is Tablet computer. The bonus of a Samsung SuperAMOLED series only at that respect point is outstanding. Samsung gets got the ideal planks at the commercial and it's not cut any corners to your Galaxy Tab S5e. The 81.8 percentage screen-to-body percentage is a marked advancement within the Galaxy Tab s 4's 7-9 per cent proportion. The 16:10 widescreen organization is completing work and excellent for substance usage. The demonstration is lively with shading production that is incredible. It splendid and becomes pleasant so utilizing the pill isn't a situation. You may don't have any negative things to mention concerning the display, since that's not strengthened here, but in the event that you are an aficionado of those s-pen.Everything you may notice, however, is your powerlessness to zoom To an video on a few applications. It is simply not possible in YouTube thus records grab and will possess bars at top. VLC and netflix do assist one to zoom , and your experience will likely probably shift determined.Even though Samsung has made several We're very happy to realize that none were made from the branch measures on this specific particular pill to put on down the cost. Even the Galaxy Tab S5e gives noise. The speakers incorporate auto pivot invention to correct the noise to the method that you are holding the tablet computer, make sure it into spectacle or representation style. You'll require cans to encounter Dolby Atmos' influence .
Galaxy Tab S5e implementation:
A worry is with all the implementation the It's because of today realized that carrying the Galaxy Tab S5e a more manner can lead to out the connection using drop. We have tried out it to assess if that is the circumstance. This really is possible on the off likelihood you have a deathgrip on the side once the pill is in landscape style. You will not find a fall in rate Corner is resting on your hands. The pill will drop a couple of pubs on the off likelihood that you simply close your hands across the bend but it wont really drop the institution and soon you hold it too tight. Thus in the event you are gushing Netflix, then it is going to drop into a diminished aims in light of the delicate institution, and you're going to detect helpless when playing an internet based game. It's Antenna gate. It is possible to dismiss a product upgrade fixing the matter As it has equipment related.Exactly what Samsung can mend using a merchandise upgrade would be another Wi fi devils. Our apparatus will in a few instances drop the institution because of no clear explanation regardless of how a Samsung cellular phone connected with a related strategy could be in full signal. It'd likewise require too long to reconnect now and even required a restart until it'd find that system . The others also have struck flaws with the once this poll had been written, without a upgrade had landed. The Galaxy Tab S5e is the pill computer from Samsung that runs Android 9.0 Pie from this container. Additionally, it simplifies one particular UI 1.1 which comprises high lights such as Digital Wellbeing and Bixby 2.0. Nearly all the high lights that you'd expect in the gadget available Pie are on this particular pill computer. It is likely to soon be an encounter just in the event you are employed to a single UI on Samsung apparatus. The night time style is available. Kiddies Home is available from the statusbar. It supplies a position that is secure to children where they could get into information and the software permitted by guardians to get a period that is foreordained.Higher Level Wellbeing is for tracking your own Usage beneficial propensities. It will disclose to you you have started the pill computer, which software you've spent the energy and also allow you to establish clocks for software that are currently trying out plenty of time. There's no assistance for habit themes, and it is just really a bummer. It not as steady as a diary Revved up on your lap is likely to make it tricky to perform work. You require a flat surface until you may go everywhere where to break the disperse. The Galaxy Tab S5e highlights a 7,040mAh battery, marginally Littler than the 7,300 mAh of the Galaxy Tab S4. The company guarantees it may keep moving for 14.5 hrs nonetheless those type of characters are just acutely possible in laboratory states. We can say, but it provides all through your daytime battery lifetime. That the battery was maintained by A combination of YouTube, Netflix, web. Your mileage will probably vary with gadget is utilized by you. Once the grandeur is flipped so far up, for example the characters will likely probably soon be identifying, or you also might have the LTE version.Hence that the battery could be pumped quick charging is reinforced In a couple of hours out of emptiness. We'd have preferred seeing 25W quick charging Samsung likely had to continue to retain that technician in 2013. Rest ensured, the Galaxy Tab S5e's battery life is much for becoming you because the afternoon improved, to express the least, perfect.
Galaxy Tab S5e choice:
Even the Galaxy Tab S5e tries to fit into a spot that is sweet. Customers that could not recommend paying $650 for the Galaxy Tab s 4 believe that it a bonus to get cash at $400 computer and can explore this pill. You are getting the SuperAMOLED series at a gadget that's comfortable to reside and constructed. Certainly the display wont be equal, but yet does this make a gap you aren't hunting for an email pad substitution? Dislike your scratch pad could be supplanted by that the Galaxy Tab s 4 .For Those people who will dismiss the disperse and Require a pill for chemical overall and use missions Galaxy Tab S5e delivers an incentive that is unbeatable. There will not be an Exceptional Alternative inside especially the one that's guaranteed OS, this respect run Refreshes for quite a while. But in case Some thing to aid to Look.

Lacking Something
DEAF LANCE AU that no one asked for
The team was back in the lounge after a hard mission, an extra member with them
Matt. Pidge tried to talk with him, but he in return only rapidly made motions with his fingers. Only Lance understand, and promptly lifted his right hand, and signed, ‘Are you deaf?’
Matt nodded vigrously, before clapping his hands together and pulling them apart in a swift motion, also pursing his lips. “Explosion?” Lance spoke, head tilted. Matt nodded, looking excited that someone understood.
The team only watched, confused by the signing. 'How do you know ASL so fluently?’ Matt signed to Lance, worry written on his face. His own letters were sloppy and slow.
Lance’s grin fell. 'I’m deaf. I had to learn as a young kid. So I’ve been doing it for years.’ Matt, at this discovery, made a sound of surprise. The team looked at him. Lance started frantically signing to Matt, Matt rapidly signing in return, eyes wide. 'Don’t say anything! They dont know!’ Lance made a gesture over his neck, implying that Matt dont say anything about it. He gulped and nodded.
“Uh, what’s going on?” Pidge questioned. Hunk shrugged and tapped Lance’s shoulder, gaining his attention. “Hey, Lance, why wont Matt talk to us?” Lance startles and intently stared at Hunk’s lips, Matt realizing that he was also crazy good at reading lips. So that’s how he got by.
“Matt is deaf, from an explosion, he said.” Lance explains, voice somewhat loud, but that was normal for him. “I know ASL because..” he trailed off for a moment, “I know because my.. sister, yeah, that’s it, was born deaf and I wanted to talk to her.” With his left hand, which was facing Matt, he translated. Matt looked suspicious.
“Well, anyhow, I need to talk to Matt. Uh, or sign. See you later!” With that, Lance was off, dragging Matt behind him. “Pidge, can you work your magic, and get us an ASL translator?” Shiro asked the brilliant girl. She smirked and nodded. Of course she could.
Lance dragged Matt into the kitchen and sat him down in the seat across from his own. He started signing again. 'So, have you dealt with any bigots about your deafness?’ Lance slowed his signing down, knowing Matt was knew. He chuckled and nodded, and lifted his hand. 'Of course. My allies dont understand it. We have to speak through weird telepathy things. I hate them. How about you?’ His sign was slow, and maybe a bit off, but Lance could still understand the basic idea.
'Naturally. I got picked on, and kids talked behind my back. Sometimes my older brothers would sneak up on me and scare me. Other times, my sisters would throw things over my shoulders, also scaring me. Only mom and dad made an effort to learn about my disability, cause dad was partially deaf.’ He sighed at the end, not noticing the paladins in the doorway, all with visors over their eyes to follow the conversation.
'Was the sister thing true?’ Matt tilted his head at Lance. He was curious. 'Partly. My cousin was born deaf and no one learned sign language for her. Only I could talk to her, and we bonded over it. We were close.’
'Were?’ Matt questioned. 'Did something happen?’ “Hmm?” Lance wondered aloud before nodding. 'Yeah. She still had some hearing left, so she got conchear implants. We weren’t as close after that, because she could hear and I couldn’t. She did like to describe sounds to me, though. We just didn’t have anything in common anymore.’ Lance shrugged, looking bored, but his eyes sad.
“You’re deaf?” Pidge screeched, Lance sensing her movement from the corner of his eye. He, too, screamed and jumped up, staring at her with wide eyes. “Uhhh, what was that, Pidge? I didn’t quite catch it.’ He chuckled awkwardly. Matt 'oohed’ behind him and when Lance when to glare, he saw Matt signing 'The car is out of the bag.’ With a smug smirk. Lance flipped him off and signed something the other paladins couldn’t quite read from their visors.
"I said you’re deaf?” She hissed. Lance paled significantly.
“Uh, no?”
“I just saw you sign it. I installed a software in our visors to translate ASL to english for us. How.. how did you do it?”
Lance went to pick up his hand, but dropped it. He spoke instead. “I learned to lip read from a young age, and B- I mean, Red, translated things for me on missions, into my head. I didn’t want to be a burden.” He scratched the back of his neck, voice still loud.
“No wonder you have volume control issues. You can’t hear yourself!” Keith exclaimed, astonished. The whole concept was new to him.
Lance sheepily nodded. “Yeah, I just brushed it off as being a 'douche’, I guess. Sorry for not telling you sooner.”
Coran laughed. “Aw, m'boy, it’s alright. No more secrets.”
Lance laughed, echoing. “Yeah, Im lacking something, but I promise no more secrets.”
I know its bad but I have 4 other fics planned so pls dont kill me
I dont know asl so sorry for lack of description.

Toyota vehicle brand was created by the Japanese auto maker Toyota in Toyota Aichi. The brand was first sold in America in 1937 as prevailing cars. Since 1998  Toyota cars embrace  transponder keys that may be reproduced in a simple and inexpensive process, while recent cars apply enciphered transponders that should be programmed to the car using a unique diagnostic apparatus and if all keys are lost, the vehicle ECM should be re-boot.
Recent cars starting from year 2007 consistently assembled with the most advance hi-tech Smart Key System key-less entry with components such as keyless entry, push-button start and blind spot details infrastructures.
Ignition cylinder repair
The Toyota FJ Cruiser ignition  utilize 3 positions that kindle different instrumentation when the key is turned. The ignition cylinder will kindle the electrical accessories on the first phase, kindle the combustible on the second phase and activate the engine on the 3rd phase.
A highly common question people ask us in our operator office is for assitance with, is troubleshooting ignition switch problems. Although our agent are generally ecstatic to try and diagnose your situation, it can be terribly hard to accomplish over the phone. On top of carrying the right Toyota FJ Cruiser lock crackerjack tools and diagnostic, an essential knowledge of the way vehicle ignition switch function is required, though prior to calling an ignnition locksmith please check the options below:
</p> <h5>No dash-board console lights</h5> <p> If you turn the key in ignition on but have no lights turn over at the dash board which means that no electricity running from the battery. It could be A deflated battery or maybe even a failed electronic wiring connection or alternator could be the reason for this. Turn on the front lights, if they wont work, means the battery has no power which is a problem for a  electrician.
</p> <h5>Key will not turn</h5> <p> Exceedingly all motor vehicle accommodate a locking steering column that lock itself when you take the ignition key out of the switch  at the end of each drive. Many times, the steering column is in a position that applies physical force to the ignition switch, and prevents the key from turning (usually happens when parking up a hill) or if either front wheel is pushed against an object (e.g. sidewalk edge).
Note - Before you start troubleshooting this complication, ensure that your car shifting gear is on park.
Grab the car wheel and try to move the sized steering wheel to the sides left and right and right and left while lightly shake right and left the ignition  key - this might help in releasing the steering wheel.
The ignition is very important systems of any car and containing manifold small parts that can be wearisome to examine by an unskilled hands, so the best a person advised to do experiencing ignition or key complications is to verify you’re actually trying to start your very own vehicle and ask a car lockman to come down to your juncture to repair, replace  reprogram the key or ignition which will costs $150–$325.
Transponder key cut and program
Because of the increasing rates of car theft 2 decades ago, mightily all cars starting at relatively 1995 employ electronic lock and key using P.A.T.S, vehicle anti theft or transponder key keys.
When a transponder chipped key is entered into the ignition key mouth, the chip ignites and sends an RF indication code to the engine control unit. If the signal code is comparable to the code in the vehicle computer unit, the car will start to achieve anti-theft mechanism for contemporary cars.
To forge or copy a key, cutting the key curves to fit the ignition switch will not be enough if you want to start the car, because the key has a transponder that must be programmed to the vehicle computer unit
Toyota FJ Cruiser proximity key
Push-button start ignition technology come with a fobik device that a user can stash in the briefcase, pocket or purse, or everywhere within the range of five ft to the receiver inside the car.
The proximity key chip sends a unique low-level radio frequency signal to the engine control module, which then validates that the proper signal has been sent and allows the driver to remotely close and open the car doors and trunk locks likewise push a push-buttons on the dash board to turn off or fire up the car bypassing inserting a key or pushing a button on the fob.
Even though smartkeys and push-button start ignition has become populously available, even on non luxury cars, these systems haven't yet reached the status of  essential requirement as electrical door locks and windows, yet, the convenience factor is a the main issue for a lot of smart keys buyers.
Copy vs lost car keys
The actual process of cutting and programming a vehicle key varies among individual year and models of the car. On few types of vehicles, on board programming can be successfully used for additional key programming. This interface ward off the obligatory costly key programmer and key codes when matching a new chipped key to the car. Models who don't support On board programming  outline should have an additional key programmed employing a compatible key programmer that is available only to Toyota FJ Cruiser dealer-ship or a sanctioned locksmith.
This coding machine costs a few thousands of dollars to purchase which is major reason having an electronic car key costs way more than it does to only cut an old fashioned metal blade key.
If you lost your last key you’ll probably need to get your vehicle towed to the dealer or find a locksmith to come out to your juncture to re-code the  to utilize the new key and dismiss the old one. Okay so at work I have a tiny department in the store which is the arts and crafts section. 3 walls in total. and for comparison the others have like 10 walls. My department was bigger but got smaller over a period of time. Anyway. So at work I am the go to guy for pretty much anything computer or printer related problems. I mean usually my job is just refill and price my department. But since Im the only one who thinks to do it and the only one who actually does the thing. I made my store an account and saved bookmarks and synced all the computers. and then we had problems with the printing software so i ended up setting up all the needed price formats in google docs and then I just added more like a list of printer solutions and whatnot. And today its at a point in which. if theres a printer problem. Im called and 99% of the time I manage to fix it. If not we call IT and cant print for a week. If im on a day off my coworkers at work cry because im not there to help with their printing problems. We have a saved bookmark with links to pdfs showing how to do various things we need to do on a regular basis. apparently nobody bothers to read them but me so im also the guy who can figure out how to do the thing. And im trying to tell the others but its going slowly atm. Im also the fastest to print things mainly because our printer is an asshole and manually making prices takes forever and because i know the simplicity of ctrl+c and v along with the magical shift and selecting text and other such things.  Like I have been asked to come in on a saturday on my day off. Which well i had already told 2 people no so i just said no once again. but my boss tried to “bargain” with me by saying “You can be doing only prices” wow. that super fun thing. for the entirety of a saturday on my weekend off? SIGN ME UP! yeah i said no. its not fun, its annoying and sometimes I wish i had a grenade that i could smash into the printer and wait for a boom. Main point: coworker asked me about how ill be near christmas without my department. I was all “im sorry WITHOUT? what are you talking about???” apparently my boss said something to him about a possibility of this one really lazy guy taking over my department (yeah FUCK NO. Im not sacrificing the art department to a guy who is going to spend the entire 2 months before christmas hanging in the warehouse talking to coworkers and following them around instead of refilling the fucking shelves) And apparently my boss thought about just making me just do prices and local computer helping guy around christmas. uih.. no? what the fuck is this? all of a sudden my coworkers dont have time to make prices??? I mean I get it. we just got a new system and because half the items werent even in the system after launch and other half was on a price of 0. we had to do everything manually (mostly me doing all the prices tho) and it took a ridiculous amount of time. I ended up being fast at doing manual prices then i thought “no fuck this. im not gonna price the entire fucking store” so i taught the others how to do manual prices and now everyone has a manual price document with their damn name on it. But now 90% of items have prices. not much needs manual pricing anymore except something we want on discount. yall have been printing your own damn prices for years. how about you guy CONTINUE TO DO SO? Like no joke my coworker after telling me about what my boss said and realizing maybe he changed his mind since he hasnt mentioned it to me yet. That coworker said “what are we gonna do on christmas on night shifts when were refilling? spending hours pricing?” YOU DO THE SAME DAMN THING YOU DID ALL THE OTHER YEARS ON YOUR FUCKING NIGHTSHIFTS. YES. YOU REFILL AND YOU PRINT PRICES MOTHERFUCKER.  We even have working tablets to make price making EVEN FASTER. Honestly. Im not spending christmas pricing the entire store because all of a sudden the other department managers are lazy and im not spending it just being IT guy either. Im not even spending it doing both. and losing my department ? OVER MY DEAD FUCKING BODY.
Also can we talk about how 20 year olds at my work dont even know about the whole ctrl+c and ctrl+v thing???? like. do you not use a computer? when youre on your laptop do you seriously use a right click on that shit? i mean i even converted it into cmd+c but like dude. YOU SHOULD KNOW THIS its basic fucking shit. or at least i thought so.
The only reason im the “local IT guy” is because i actually bother to look for solutions instead of just going “ugh it wont work!” and walk away. walkign away just makes the problem last for a month. so why not fix it.

Healthcare is in the midst of a digital shift. Artificial intelligence offers physicians providers an new resource when making decisions, new data streams promise hyper-personalized treatments and digital therapeutics evangelists see are hawking the novel treatments as a companion, or even a replacement, to traditional biologic treatments. All in all, it’s a future that hopes to empower the individual while streamlining care and cutting costs — but only if pharma and other established players can identify its challenges and properly embrace what’s to come.
“The ecosystem has shifted, and it’s put more power into the hands of people who give the data, more power into the hands of the patients,” Dr. Ameet Nathwani, chief medical officer and chief digital officer at Sanofi, said yesterday to a packed room at BIO 2019 in Philadelphia. “[That] is a good thing, but we in the industry have to find out what is our role in that journey.”
Avoid mistakes from the past
Nathwani said that pharma has often fallen short with most promising innovations because it did not consider the ecosystem into which they would be introduced — take, for instance, the industry’s development and launch of therapies that required multi-hour infusions prior to infusion clinics becoming commonplace in health systems. The modern equivalent, he explained, is uncertainty as to whether or not the biologic treatments currently undergoing clinical trials will still make sense within the data-driven care ecosystem to come.
“Ask yourself, ‘Are people treated the same way that they are in your trial by the time the drug is actually approved and priced in the markets?” Nathwani advised. “Try and predict within three or four years after your product is available, how are people going to be treating their disease, how are patients expecting to be managed, and is that the same way that you’re developing your drug. Because if it isn’t, more people are going to ask the question: Well, this is great, you did your trials in five or six years in a very traditional manner, but in those five or six years … [patients] managed at home, there’s digital biomarkers, there are new devices that are probably used, the patient’s journey is probably completely different. If you have a more traditional approach, will your data still fit in that new model? I would ask yourself those questions now, and have those scenarios built in as you develop your drugs.”
Another consideration is growing presence of AI in everything from drug development to clinical decision support, he continued. On the one hand, there’s no reason for pharma not to lay the groundwork for tools that can address its biggest drivers of cost and inefficiency.
“My first message to everyone who is in our industry right now is to use technology to enable your trials, your conventional work,” he said. “We should be looking at that — how do we find patients, how do we codify them, how do we do the trials a completely different way? The technology is not there today, but we should maybe look at conducting trials more efficiently because the cost of R&D is still huge across our industry, and I think that’s ripe for disruption."
Much like other industries, however, healthcare is not immune to the broader threat AI and automation bring to the traditional workforce. Even beyond careful data governance, thoughtful system design and other efforts toward building responsible and transparent AI, Nathwani said it was important for pharma to begin preparing its people for the culture shift.
“The question is, how do we retool a generation to become more data driven, much more oriented to that,” he said. “We have a big program that we just kicked off internally to get our organization digitally literate to start with, and then we have to focus on building new capabilities. We certainly cannot hire everyone we need to, there’s already a shortage in the world of data engineers and data scientists … It’s a major problem, I don’t have a solution. It’s a society problem as well.”
Friend, not foe
And then there’s the question of the new kid on the block: digital therapeutics. For Nathwani and Sanofi, the maturing sector doesn’t necessarily represent a threat to the traditional business of biologic-based medications. Rather, he said, pharma companies should be carefully watching these smaller digital companies for signs of which parts of its business could be disrupted or replaced.
“We just have to be mindful. It’s the same as any other competition coming in, except it’s just very different and we have to have a different mindset,” he said. “A digital therapeutic can be a friend or a foe, we just have to open our eyes to the fact that competition is coming from new angles that we otherwise would not have considered. Our approach and response should be equal: Let’s embrace it, understand what it can do. If the patients are going to benefit in the end, that’s great for everyone. If we can’t differentiate our drug from a digital therapeutic we have a different problem, because I think digital therapeutics will be faster, they’ll be quicker, they won’t have the same safety burdens that you would encounter with our own drugs.”
That’s not to say that adopting these new modalities will be simple. While many digital therapeutics lack the adverse events of biologics and therefore may seem low risk to develop, there are are a number of logistic and regulatory unknowns that won’t be easy to untangle.
“The number one [risk to pharma] is just the complexity of developing these technologies,” he said. “Just imagine, when you develop a biologic drug and you make a slight modification, you have to go through this whole process. Just imagine that in the software world, where software changes over time. What’s the IP of it, can you IP a software? Well, actually, the regulations are not that clear and so there’s software’s copyright, and then what’s the generic version of it?”
Again, Nathwani said that pharma companies need to put more effort into investigating and anticipating which digital therapeutics or tools will drive the paradigm shift. To do so, he suggested that organizations should take a deeper look into the platforms being developed by tech companies in and out of the immediate space and, if it makes sense, follow their lead.
“There’s a number of tech companies working in this space. Take a scan of it and see how many other people are actually interested in those disease areas and see what they’re doing,” he said. “We’re very good at scanning [for] other biological competitors and understanding who’s developing similar products and similar drugs in the same ecosystem. We’re not very good at anticipating what are the technologies that are being developed that could fundamentally shift the ecosystem.”
Cutting costs, providing relief
Beyond simply keeping up with the changing landscape, Nathwani said that preparing for and embracing these new patient-friendly technologies is all but mandatory to combat ballooning price tags. As the cost of managing chronic conditions and delivering treatments is threatening to prohibit the development of novel treatments, he explained, any opportunity for pharma to remove costs from the system can’t be overlooked.
“I’m not sure that digital health is going to solve the fact that pharma is still regarded as just above the tobacco and oil industry in reputation. But I think what we do have is a responsibility right now … to actually manage chronic diseases more effectively, and more cost effectively,” he said. “Do you want to see a world where genetic therapy or cell-based therapies cannot be delivered? I think in order to afford that, we have to find a redress in the balance, take healthcare costs out in other ways, and be responsible in doing that. … And we can’t control everything — there’s also other infrastructure costs we can’t control — but at least we can play a role in that, and I think digital health is one way that can help us address the balance.”
