okay, I know this might sound a bit weird to some people but listen.

A ship idea... possible spoilers under cut

what if... we paired the Wood Sprite and Jareth? Yes, the antagonist from that Labyrinth film made in 1986 by Jim Henson. Ironically the company behind it is also responsible for some animation / producing on GDT's Pinocchio - specifically, Henson's daughter Lisa was a co-producer!

I know it sounds bizarre cause crossover ship and the films are so different, but let me explain.

Jareth and the Wood Sprite are both fey/faeries. Jareth’s got more human-like features but if you ever do a bit of lore digging, Tuatha De Danann seems to be his type of fae species. The Wood Sprite is based of biblical angels and some of her features are jagged like a pinecone, but it's still clear she's pretty much a faerie.

Both deal with the wishes of humans. Specifically Jareth whisks away children who are wished away by families that seemingly don't want them (or in Sarah's case, don't want to be responsible for) and Wood Sprite cares for the lost and the lonely ones, those wronged by the cruelty of fate. She is life, essentially, bring Pinocchio - reincarnation of Carlo, Geppetto’s deceased son - to life. This establishes them as some sorts of overseer of humanity, namely the younger ones - the youth.

Jareth's personality is charismatic, although at times he comes off as rather selfish - though granted, his foil isn't particularly selfless at the start either - and rather mischievous. For an antagonist, he's pretty damn charming. And what of the Wood Sprite's personality? She appears two times in the film - at the start, and the end. What we see is she's more one to follow the heart, and she strives to do what she thinks is right. She is rather softer as opposed to her sister - blunt and brutally honest - yet carries a sense of responsible nature and maternal side to her.

Opposites attract is a trope done many, many times - but it works, often. Here, I think it would too. I know one might think, "But the timeline", and I raise you this - post-canon meeting. Have them meet sometime later down the line after both films' events are long gone by. They are both of seeming European origin, so I doubt geographics really matter - faeries are nomadic as a species anyway.

Anyway, that's just my thoughts. If you don't ship it, that's fine - just sharing my own thoughts, is all.
