A POLITICAL RENDEZVOUS at THE CLOISTERS

About an hour after the guest’s arrival, the auction finally starts. Some come to share the money they have no other use for — others, to establish some sort of status, seek connections, or simply watch this odd species in its natural habitat.

While politicians lay the groundwork for a successful campaign, the law and the media follow closely behind, all with goals of their own. Weaving into the crowd also, are those with influence in the underworld. If you think they don’t have something to gain by blending in — you’re sorely mistaken.

ARIA BOUGHTON and [MEDIA CHARACTER B] are in conflict with each other. [PUBLIC FIGURE 1] has conceded to an interview, but to one person only. This isn’t an opportunity to pass up — and both will fight hard for it.

[GANG CHARACTER A] overhears [ENEMY A] and [ENEMY B] speaking of gang plans — and quickly passes the info onto FELIX SECADA.

ANAÏS MURAD approaches EVA MOVSKA about a potential hefty donation to their party. However, ANAÏS MURAD has a list of demands that need be met first, in order for the donation to be made.

ARCHER BROOKS makes the rounds to ensure that there is no bad PR that could possibly come from this. Targets include LEV MOVSKA and ZED MOVSKA, who look like the type to start trouble.

[MEDIA CHARACTER C] has their hands full tonight, what with so much fact-checking to be made for all articles breaking tomorrow. Naturally, they approach [CHARACTER D] to run through the details with. (Read: trying to catch them in a lie.)

[CHARACTER E] had been hoping to shake hands with someone involved in the government tonight, and ALAN DIETRICH fits the bill. If they can just gauge out all government strategy and how it impacts their business, then it’s time well spent. Of course, [CHARACTER E] has their own agenda also.

[LAW CHARACTER A] had heard through a rumor that DAMIEN TOUSSAINT, while not a criminal themselves, knows more than your average civilian. If they enough questions, maybe some will get answers.

[CHARACTER H] lets it slip that they know some hacking, and it peaks the interest of CALEB MORENO. Hey — knowing what their opponents are doing could be useful, that’s all.

[GANG CHARACTER C] has been avoiding EMILIO CARRASCO, until they cross paths. There’s an inkling or knowledge of their involvement with crime, and tensions rise.

MATHIAS CAIN gets a little too drunk and reveals a secret they weren't supposed to, and to the worst person possible: CLARK CAIN. What now?

KRISTEN PARRISH finds AVA M HOLLIS and VIA D’ANGELO talking in a room — and they want in on the secret.

[CHARACTER M] has their eye on a certain item up for auction, and they're determined to have it — the only problem is, [CHARACTER N] feels the same. Who will win the battle of paper and words?

IZARA LEVINE catches [CHARACTER P] stashing hors-d'œuvres in their pockets. Are they saving it for later, or are they up to something? Time will tell.

AXEL REYES and [ENEMY C] enter conflict. But they have to find a way to settle it without things getting violent — any slips, and they might just blow the cover of their entire operation.

MLP Song Tournament: Results of Round 2

Warning: Long post. Many stats

The three biggest landslides were Smile (93.77%, 256 to 17 votes), This Day Aria (92.54%, 670 to 54), and Raise This Barn (82.47%, 334 to 71)

The three closest matches were The Seeds of the Past vs Say Goodbye to the Holiday (50.90%, 163 to 169)

The Pony I Wanna Be vs The Magic of Friendship Grows (50.52%, 190 to 194)

And, surprisingly, This Day Aria Reprise vs Celestia's Ballad (50.28, 178 to 180)

It's surprising how This Day Aria (Reprise) went from one of the biggest sweeps last round to the closest match this round, just barely winning by two votes.

This round as a whole was very close, with the average win margin being 62.85%, which is even closer than the Quarterfinals of the Brony Bracket (and this is Round 2 !). This is because many of the top tiers that swept last round (A Kirin Tale, Better Way to be Bad, etc.) went against popular songs (Flim-Flam Brothers, The Perfect Stallion). I'm guessing that next round won't be as close.

There were 11 upsets this round, all of which were a Tier 3 song beating a Tier 2 song (despite the tough competition, all the Tier 1s hung on). The biggest landslide of an upset was Luna's Future beating Rainbow (79.01%, 51 to 192)

Not much too surprising, for the most part these are pretty close to how many songs in total moved on (just over half). Notable exceptions are Season 5 7 and 9, The CMC, and Cheese Sandwich losing disproportionately, Coluratura/The Mane Attraction and Filli Vanilli being completely eliminated, and Applejack and Queen Chrysalis never losing.

As for how my taste conforms to Tumblr's, 34 of the songs that made it to Round 2 are saved to my Music folder*, and of these, 20 made it to Round 3

*this is higher than I said in the last announcement because I downloaded a few more songs

As for my 11-year-old self, 3 of their saved songs made it to Round 2, and all 3 moved on*

*like I said last time though, 2 of those 3 were given byes and haven't even entered the tournament yet

37. What's a weird theory or headcanon you have?

I have a lot of thoughts on the Branded of PoR and Radiant Dawn, namely I'm very curious about whether or not any of them could have multiple Brands (such as my OC). and about what would happen to any of them should Izuka's drugs that affected Laguz and turned them Feral be used on a Branded.

Would anything happen, would their appearances be forced to shift to be more in line with the Laguz heritage one bears? Would it be like their bodies try to shift into animal form, but can't fully, so they shift partially in some way; such as sprouting feathers, nails and teeth growing longer and sharper, things like that? I'm uncertain but I do thing it would be interesting if Izuka's drug did affect a Branded in the way of, their body would try to shift, but being unable to, would instead cause them to shift partially.

15. What are your favorite musical tracks?

I have so many tracks I love so this is gonna be a bit of a list (in order as they appear on the soundtracks) that is under the read more so this post isn't a monster on the dash lol. I did try to cut it down, but for the three games I picked...I have a lot, so I tried to save some space by putting those that were right next to each other in the soundtrack beside each other with the /.

The Phantom of the Opera- Harrison Osterfield One Shot

Pairing: Harrison Osterfield X Reader

Prompt: When Harrison signs up for the musical The Phantom of the Opera to impress a girl from class, he doesn’t realize he’s been chasing the wrong Christine. (College AU)

“The Phantom of the Opera?” Tom looked at his friend with his eyes wide in surprise and disbelief.

“Yep.” Harrison nodded. A nervous smile on his face found its way onto his face as the two of them walked into the student union to grab some coffee before their shared music appreciation class.

“This isn’t High School Musical. This is a legit musical, one that even has opera in the name.”

“Look, it’s extra credit to just audition, and, if I get the role, I’ll be acting opposite of Vicky.” He reasoned. Vicky was the T.A. in his music appreciation class, the girl that he was currently fawning over, and the girl who was most likely to get the role of Christine. The discussion paused as they ordered their drinks, and stepped to the side, “Can you audition with me?”

“Hell no. No extra credit is worth performing in a musical.” Tom shook his head, scrunching up his nose in disgust at the thought of auditioning.

“Whatever. I’m still auditioning.” Harrison said.

“Hey, Harrison, Tom.” You smiled, coming to stand by Harrison as you waited for your own drink. You were the other T.A. for said music appreciation class, being a music major yourself. “Are you auditioning for The Phantom of the Opera?”

“Yeah, might as well for the extra credit.” Harrison replied, neglecting to add the Vicky excuse.

“Which part?”

“Uh, the phantom?” He shrugged, and you let out a small laugh.

“You’d be better as Raoul.” You told him, making him look at you confused. “I mean, I know the director’s looking for a tenor with a wide range for the role of the phantom. You’d probably be better off trying for the part of Raoul.”

“You haven’t even heard me sing, and I feel like you’re already insulting my voice.” He joked.

“I’m just saying,” You laughed, “Raoul’s role is easier on your vocal chords, especially since you’re not classically trained. I can help you with your vocals, if you want.”

“Really?”

“Yeah, of course.”

“Are you and Vicky auditioning?” He asked. Tom elbowed him lightly as a way to tell him he wasn’t being smooth about asking about Vicky.

“She’s auditioning for the role of Christine. I probably won’t audition.”

“Why not?”

“I don’t like singing in front of others.” Before Harrison could reply, your name got called and you went to get your drink. “I’ll see you guys in class.” You smiled before leaving.

“Are you sure Vicky’s the T.A. you like?” Tom teased.

“What the hell are you on about?” Harrison questioned.

“I’m just saying, you and Y/N talk a lot more than you and Vicky. Are you sure Vicky even knows you exist?”

“Vicky knows I exist.” He defended himself, “Y/N’s just a friend.”

That weekend, Harrison met you at one of your college’s piano practice rooms to help him with learning lines and practice singing for the audition. For wanting to do it simply for extra credit, you were surprised he was taking it so seriously. You suspected there was another underlying reason, but you also didn’t know Harrison well enough to try to push it.

“I’m doing it wrong, aren’t I?” Harrison asked with a defeated sigh.

“You’re missing the emotion. This is the first time Raoul is seeing his childhood love. Christine’s is captivating the entire opera with her voice, so you need to sound captivated, awestruck.” You encouraged, beginning to play the notes to “Think of Me” again on the piano. You knew exactly which piece the director would have all the Raoul auditions sing, and so you focused on helping him sing the part. Harrison could act well, but it was the combination of acting and singing that he struggled with. You said, teasingly, “This time, with passion”

“Can it be? Can it be Christine?” Harrison sang, but this time with a sense of awe in his voice. He stood beside the piano, reading off the music sheet. Loudly and passionately, he exclaimed, “Bravo!” before continuing his lines “Long ago, it seems so long ago,”

“Hold it!” You reminded him, knowing he’d try to cut the next line short like he’d been doing.

“How young and innocent we were, she may not remember me, but I remember her,” He finished the part, almost out of breath.

“Okay, so you need to get the breathing down.” You laughed.

“You try singing the same lines over and over again. It’s hard.”

“If you want the role, you’ll have to sing the same parts over and over again.”

“You sing then.” He said, and you started to play the piano again.

“I don’t sing in front of other people.”

“Come on, music major.” Harrison nudged you teasingly. “I’m not even trained and I’ve been singing.”

“Fine, I’ll sing, but just so you can practice coming in at the right part.” You caved. Harrison smiled as you started to sing. “Recall those days, look back on all those times, think of the things we’ll never do, there will never be a day when I won’t think of you,” You nodded over to him, signaling for him to start his part.

He sang through his part with the right emotion again. He smiled, encouragingly at you to have you finish Christine’s part.

“Flowers fade, the fruits of summer fade, they have their season so do we, but please promise me that sometimes, you will think-” You stopped prematurely.

“Why’d you stop?” Harrison asked, “You were really good.”

“Thanks. I haven’t warmed up at all. That’s not an easy note to hit.” You replied, taking a sip from the water you had placed on your piano bench beside you.

“Why don’t you audition? Your voice is incredible, and I’m not even a music person.” He insisted with a small laugh.

“Vicky’s operatically trained, and I mean I took vocal lessons so I’m trained enough to sing some arias, but nothing crazy.”

“I think you’d make a good Christine. I’m auditioning, and you just had to sit through an hour of me singing like shit, so I’d say you got a chance.”

“You’re not bad. You just need practice.” You reassured him, looking at your phone to check the time. You had reserved the room for an hour and your time was already up, “We should go before someone comes to kick us out. The audition’s tomorrow, are you ready?”

“I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.”

“I swear to god, if you get this role, I’ll do your music homework for the rest of the semester.” Tom said as he walked the halls of the music building with Harrison.

“I sounded like shit yesterday, so,” Harrison trailed off. He halted his steps as he heard a familiar voice coming from a practice room. He peered through the window to see you playing the piano, and singing another piece from the musical.

“Your spirit and my voice in one combined, the phantom of the opera is there inside my mind, is there the phantom of the opera,” You closed your eyes, vocalizing the high notes of Christine’s part.

“Holy shit.” Harrison breathed out, taken back from the intensity of the notes.

“Y/N can sing like that and you’re still into Vicky?” Tom asked in disbelief. You stopped singing to drink some water. The two boys quickly jumped away from the door.

“Right, the audition.” The blonde remembered, returning his anxious journey to the musical auditions.

Harrison didn’t see you again until the next day in class, when you pulled him aside to talk about the musical.

“How’d the audition go?” You asked with an eager smile.

“I think it went well.” Harrison replied, “I heard you in the practice room. You can sing, really sing those high notes.”

“It was nothing.” Your cheeks heated up. His words made your heart do flips.

“No, I’m serious. You should’ve auditioned.”

“That’s what I wanted to tell you. I did.” You said, “I auditioned for Christine.”

“I’m sure you got it.”

“Actually,” You paused and he raised his eyebrows as a way to tell you to continue, “I’m Vicky’s understudy.”

“The roles are out?” He asked, immediately forgetting about your own role.

“Not officially. I’m not supposed to tell you, but you got the role!” You smiled, hugging him in excitement.

“I’m- I’m Raoul?” Harrison looked at you with a smile of disbelief. He thought it was impossible for him to get the role.

“Yeah, you did! Congratulations!”

“Wow, I’m going to be in a musical.”

“You’ll be a lead in a musical.” You emphasized. You checked the clock and saw it was time for class to begin, “C’mon, lecture’s starting.”

You watched from your spot at the front of the music room as Harrison whispered something to Tom, who let out a small groan. Based on the smile Harrison threw your way, you knew it had to do with his role.

Over the course of the next few weeks, you and Harrison grew closer as you helped him prepare for the role of Raoul. Of course, during rehearsals, he’d work with Vicky, but he still turned to you for practice outside of rehearsals. With each practice, you found yourself falling harder for the blue eyed boy, which only made it harder during rehearsals when you’d have to watch him and Vicky act as Raoul and Christine.

“One week until we open. How ya feeling?” You asked Harrison, once he’d emerged from the wardrobe department. With opening night only being seven days away, practice was daily and rehearsals had changed to dress rehearsals. You had to admit he made a dashing Raoul.

“Nervous.” He replied, adjusting the collar of his suit.

“You’re going to be great.” You reassured him.

“Y/N!” The director called out to you, drawing your attention away from Harrison.

“Yes?”

“You’re on. Vicky’s ill.” He announced. You hurried off to the costume department, getting into Christine’s dress.

With the rush of Vicky’s absence, you and Harrison didn’t have time to talk before the rehearsal started. Despite the first act of the play leading up to Christine and Raoul’s musical number, you were too focused on going through the lines to really think of “All I Ask of You”. It wasn’t until you stood on the rooftop set that you realized the magnitude of the situation- you were Christine now and Harrison was Raoul. The soft violins began, striking up the romantic piece.

“No more talk of darkness, forget these wide-eyed fears. I’m here, nothing can harm you, my words will warm and calm you,” He started to sing, gently placing his hands on your bare shoulders as you both looked out into the audience. You turned to him, losing yourself in his warm blue eyes, “Let me be your freedom, let daylight dry your tears. I’m here, with you, beside you, to guard you and to guide you.”

“Say you love me every waking moment, turn my head with talk of summertime. Say you need me with you now and always,” You sang back. He rested a hand on your cheek, keeping your face intimately close to his, just as scripted. “Promise me that what you say is true, that’s all I ask of you.”

“Let me be your shelter, let me be your light. You’re safe, no one will find you, your fears are far behind you.” He continued the next verse as he hugged you gently before leading you in the choreographed walk around the rooftop.

“All I want is freedom, a world with no more night, and you, always beside me to hold me and to hide me.” You sang, the two of you coming to a pause in the center of the stage.”

“Then say you’ll share with me, one love, one lifetime. Let me lead you from your solitude, say you need me with you, here beside you, anywhere you go, let me go too. Christine, that’s all I ask of you” Harrison pulled you into his loving embrace, your back pressed against his chest, swaying the two of you slightly to the music.

“Say you’ll share with me one love, one lifetime. Say the word and I will follow you.”

“Share each day with me, each night, each morning.” You sang together in harmony as you moved to stand in front of him.

“Say you love me,” Your voice trembled slightly as you registered how close you were to Harrison, captivated in his embrace.

“You know I do,” His voice came back, full of passionate emotion.

“Love me, that’s all I ask of you,” The two of you sang. As the music grew louder and more dramatic, Harrison pulled you in for a passionate kiss, taking you by surprise. He and Vicky had been rehearsing without the kiss; this was a change. He picked you up and spun you, his lips still on yours. He set you down and you pulled away from the kiss.

“Anywhere you go, let me go too,” You both sang out, holding out the notes, before softening. “Love me, that’s all I ask of you.”

Before you could help yourself, you kissed Harrison one last time. Hand-in-hand, you two exited the stage, leaving the set for the phantom’s reprise. You watched the scene from the side of the stage, not realizing you still held Harrison’s hand. The director nodded over to you and Harrison, signaling your part of the reprise.

“Say you’ll share with me one love, one lifetime. Say the word and I will follow you. Share each day with me, each night, each morning.” The two of you sang, off-stage.

“You will curse the day you did not do, all that the phantom asked of you!” The phantom finished the song , with the theme replaying loudly over the speakers.

“That was fantastic! Intermission before the next act!” The director called out, clapping proudly. It was then you realized you were still holding Harrison’s hand, and you dropped it quickly, hurrying off to change, not particularly wanting to bring up the kiss with Harrison (though you were both guilty of kissing the other unexpectedly).

As you changed into Christine’s pink masquerade gown, you found yourself thinking through your last scene. You really liked Harrison, he had caught your eye the first time you’d seen him in class, but now, you were tangled between the blurred lines of fiction and reality. Did he actually want to kiss you, or was that just him acting as Raoul, caught up in the romance of the song?

A few minutes before the second act was set to begin, you were dressed and waiting anxiously near the side of the stage, mentally running through your lines again. You knew this next act focused on Raoul protecting Christine from the phantom, and the romance between Christine and Raoul was intensified as they were now engaged in the musical. You had barely made it through the last act, keeping your feelings for Harrison together, but this next act would just make it all the more difficult.

“You’ll be fine.” Harrison’s voice made you jump in surprise as he appeared beside you. His blond extensions were smoothed back to a small ponytail, and he wore Raoul’s blue masquerade suit, accentuating his eyes perfectly. “You sounded amazing in the last act, don’t stress yourself over this one.”

“Thanks. You were pretty great, too.” You smiled softly. There was an odd tension in the air; you knew how you felt, but you didn’t quite yet know what he thought of you- or if that damn kiss was intentional. He looked as if he was about to say something, but you spoke up first, letting your nerves get the better of you, “Look, Harrison, that kiss-”

“I meant it,” was all he could say before the masquerade music began, signaling the start of the second act. He gave you a nervous smile before he rushed off to his stage position. The chorus started to sing, and you couldn’t do anything to stop the rehearsal. You and Harrison went through the movements of Christine and Raoul, through the masquerade, the graveyard, all of the scenes.

When the rehearsal finally finished, you were grateful. It was hard enough to remember lines as it is, but even harder with Harrison’s words racing through your mind. The curtain had barely closed before you pulled Harrison in for a passionate kiss, cupping his cheeks softly. He smiled into the kiss, wrapping his arms around your waist. After a moment, you pulled away breathlessly.

“I’m so glad you convinced me to be Raoul.” Harrison laughed, kissing you again.

When opening night came, you surprisingly didn’t feel overwhelmingly nervous with Harrison playing your Raoul. He was so happy that he had tried out for the musical. “All I Ask of You” was by far the easiest scene for him to perform.

Everybody has that ‘what if’. The one who got away....not quite regret, but thoughts that would drift by late at night when insomnia has set in and you’re deep into your latest existential crisis.

What if things had been different? What if you had said what had been on the tip of your tongue that day?

Byun Baekhyun was your what if.

He had been your best friend in college and the only person you had truly loved.

You had no reason to run into Byun Baekhyun. You didn’t share classes. You an Accounting major and him Architecture.

You didn’t run in the same social circles, he was part of a frat house and you opted to remain in dorms with your small group of friends.

But what had brought you together was music, meeting in your second year while working at the campus radio station.

You had applied for the role of Production Director on a whim, looking for a hobby outside of classes and studying and also benefited from the extra credit of managing the finances of the small college club.

The first time you met you were positive you’d never understand him. After all, you were complete opposites. He was loud and outgoing; always the centre of jokes and a far cry the quiet loner you were perceived to be.

But from the first show you ran with him, he has surprised you. Baekhyun was the On-Air Presenter for the Sunday night Jazz & Blues segment and as soon as the light would turn red he’d take on a completely different persona.

His voice would become soft and melodic as he’d whisper sweet nothings into the microphone about the classics of Miles Davies and Frank Sinatra.

You’d often be on the same late-night shift together; downing coffee after coffee, discussing your favourite artists and organising records until the early hours.

He wasn’t exhausting like the rest of your extroverted friends, his presence giving you a warm sense of comfort.

Without noticing you became joined at the hip for the rest of your college days.

Not to the point that you were a regular at his crazy frat parties but you’d hang out at the radio station, would marathon movie after movie at each other’s dorms on the weekends and crammed for all your major test’s together.

You hadn’t even realised you were in love with him until you’d just graduated, you even had the crazy idea to confess.

Then the news broke that he was moving to a different country.

He had been in two minds on whether to go. You’d always talked about living and working in the same city and he’d been concerned about you being alone and him going back on his promise.

Honestly. Who achieves their dream job at a globally famous architecture firm and worries about their dumb friend during the happiest moment of their life?!

You remembered that day vividly.

‘“Of course you should go! It’s your dream, Baek” you forced the enthusiasm into your voice.

Inside, you could feel your heart tearing at the seams. You weren’t selfish enough to show him just how much you would miss him, as much as you had wanted to.

He was always too considerate of your feelings.

This wasn’t some Rom-Com TV show, where Baekhyun would suddenly declare he couldn’t live without you. He wasn’t like Rachel choosing not to get on the plan for Ross.

You’d cried so hard the night he’d left. Almost texting the words you’d be aching to tell him for the last three years.

‘I am in love with you’.

But the alcohol had knocked you out before you could hit send.

He’d promised to keep in touch but over the years you drifted. As life and work became more and more hectic it devolved from video chatting on the weekends, to texting occasionally.

Fading into receiving a generic happy birthday post on social media and then nothing at all.

You’d pushed him to the back of your mind as you told yourself over and over that this is what happens as you get older.

And with that ten years had passed.

You wake with a start. Back aching from where you’d fallen asleep in an awkward position while watching a random ASMR video the night prior.

*Clatter*

Your sleep-filled eyes search the room, trying to locate the source of the noise.

*Thud Thud Thud*

It appears to be coming through the wall behind your headboard.

Could someone be moving into the apartment next door? It’s been entirely empty the whole time you’ve been living here, about seven months now.

You've enjoyed the quiet solace of not having to share the walls with another person. Especially being one of the only two apartments on the upper floor, it was one of the reasons you love your apartment.

It’s also located near the subway and tucked far back enough on the outskirts of the city that it’s almost peaceful. There’s also a small cafe bar and a couple of small stores that remind you of the town where you grew up.

*Bang*

You groan again at the loud noises as you stretch your arms over your head and wonder about the people moving in next door.

Maybe a couple? Or a young family. It could even be a cute guy. You snort at the thought. Yeah right. What kind of a psycho moves into an apartment in the early morning anyway?!

You reach under your pillow for your phone to check the time. 8:30 am! SHIT. You overslept and if you don’t leave your apartment in the next ten minutes you’ll miss your train to work!

With no time for a shower, you rush to your bathroom to wash your face and brush your teeth.

As you drag a brush through your hair and pull it up into a simple, neat ponytail you start forming a contingency plan…

‘Skip the usual to-go coffee at Dunkin’ and settle for the instant stuff at work’ you think to yourself, ‘As soon as I get to work, throw on some BB cream and mascara with the time I’ll gain abandoning my daily vanilla latte with coconut milk…’.

You sniff sadly at the thought as you step into one of your tailored dresses, fumbling with the awkward zipper in the back.

Within 10 minutes you’re flying out the door and straight into the elevator. Using the short amount of time to button up your sweater and glance through your bag to check that you’ve got everything you’ll need for the day.

You’re in your own thoughts as you stride towards the lobby doors, and almost walk straight into your building manager.

“Oh! Good morning, Mr Sato!” you gasp in surprise.

“Good morning!” he smiles obliviously, not realising that you almost knocked him flying. You move to step around him as he continues. “There’s a package of yours with Ralph” (the doorman) “and I also wanted to let you know about a new tenant moving into the place next to yours...”

“Uh-huh, of course, that’s great!” You cut him off, waving your hands apologetically “I am so sorry. Please excuse me, I’m late for work!” you call out behind you as you make a mad dash out of the building to the subway station.

You make your train by the skin of your teeth, panting from the final sprint from the ticket gate to the platform. Feeling glad you skipped the makeup as you would have surely sweat a good portion of it off by now.

You currently work for a large accountancy firm Kim & Partners. You could have worked within a finance department of any company as most qualified accountants tend to do but you love the challenges and variety of working with different industries and clients every day.

You manage a small team of four and specialise in bookkeeping for small to medium enterprise, one of the smaller departments in the company but you have a pretty large client base and enjoy the satisfaction of helping others and providing a clear and efficient service.

“We are transferring you to manage corporate accounts,” your boss Mr Kim announces in the morning management meeting. You feel like someones just pulled a step from beneath your footing.

You were aware that your manager Mr Choi had wanted to transfer you out to provide more specialised management accountancy for larger corporate clients but so far you’d been convincing enough from the commission and reputation you’ve built for Kim & Partners to be able to continue as you were.

“Uh, thank you for the opportunity, Mr Kim, I-” you begin shakily, looking for the words or a reason to decline the transfer.

“Fantastic! You’ll handover to Jaehyun for the rest of today and you’ll start in corporate accounting tomorrow!” your boss claps his hands together enthusiastically and with that you chicken out of any further protest and nod your head.

Jaehyun is your second in command and honestly, he really deserves this promotion. You couldn’t think of someone more diligent and detail-oriented.

The rest of your day is uneventful. The handover goes incredibly smoothly despite a very surprised Jaehyun but the more things are explained, the more you realise that this progression will be good for everyone.

You’ll still oversee Jaehyun and his team but allow him more room to make decisions and develop while you work on the larger corporate accounts that keep your company in business.

There was even a hint at the opportunity to become a junior partner, which by your calculations would make you one of the youngest in the company.

You leave work feeling excited, passing up on celebratory drinks with your (old) team so that they can have more fun without their boss present.

“COME ONNNN” Hani, your junior accounts clerk had whined when you announced that you wouldn't be joining “You’re not a regular boss, you’re a COOL boss!”.

You appreciate the sentiment but everyone likes to complain about work and management when they drink and you wouldn't like to take that away from them.

You sit on the train heading back to your apartment feeling optimistic, texting your best friend Aria about the day and making plans for your own celebratory drinks.

You’re walking through the lobby of your apartment building, heading towards Ralph’s desk to collect the package Mr Sato mentioned this morning. Probably the new nutribullet you’d ordered while drunk Amazon shopping a couple of weeks back.

Normally you’d cancel the delivery but drunk you was really onto something this time. You giggle at a dumb vine quote Aria sends you and as you finish typing up your response-

THWACK! You hit a wall, falling ungracefully backwards onto your butt.

You grunt as the air gets knocked out of you when you make contact with rough carpet of the lobby.

“Seriously!” another voice snaps you back to reality as you realise you didn’t walk into a wall but another person.

A now very annoyed person, carrying what you assume was their groceries as you glance over at the produce and cans rolling around on the floor between you.

“I- oh my gosh, I am so sorry!” you stammer as you scramble to your knees and start frantically picking up some of the items in front of you. A can of beans, a bag of pasta and a lone orange trying to make its escape.

“I wasn’t even looking, I promise I’ll pay for anything dama-”, You begin as you look up, expecting to see Mr Sato or one of the other tenants of the building.

The rest of your sentence dies in the back of your throat.

“Baekhyun?...”

His name leaves your lips as a whisper, heart thumping against your chest as you almost drop the items in your hands.

He’s not looking in your direction, you hear him grumble something under his breath that you can’t quite make out as he scoops the remainder of his groceries into a battered paper bag.

Is it really him? Did you hit your head and you’re actually unconscious and hallucinating about a guy you used to know and haven’t seen in ten years?

It sure looks like him. A few extra lines crease his forehead, his hair is a darker shade of chocolate than you remember with a few flecks of silver glinting at the centre of his parting.

You glance to his left hand searching for the mole that sits beneath his thumbnail but it’s not there. Maybe it was on his right hand?

He finally looks up as if finally registering that you’re kneeling on the floor next to him, his lips part slightly in surprise as he looks you over. A tiny mole sits just above the corner of his upper lip. It really is him!

Before your mind has time to catch up you’re throwing your arms around him, allowing your excitement to overtake all of your other senses. You feel him instantly tense up.

“H-hey!” he shouts, pushing you off him abruptly. “What the hell are you doing!”

You shoot to your feet, shaken by the sharpness of his tone you take a step back to create some space. Your throat feels dry all of a sudden. His eyes look you over but there’s no familiarity in them, they’re so cold you almost shiver.

He takes a step towards you, “How do you know my name?” his tone sharp and accusing, “Are you some kind of stalker?”.

Your cheeks start to burn as the realisation set’s in that Baekhyun has no idea who you are. You struggle to swallow the lump forming in your throat as you search for a response. Words seem to fail you right now.

“Y/N, is everything alright?” you hear the worried voice of Mr Sato, by the time you remember to blink he’s already standing between the two of you. You look up at him, dumbstruck as you fight back the sharp prickles in the corner of your eyes.

He looks back and forth between you and Baekhyun, trying to piece together what has taken place. You realise you’re still holding Baekhyun’s groceries, practically hugging the bag of pasta to your chest and your cheeks burn even hotter.

You hear your name spoken again but it’s not Mr Sato’s voice this time, and you don’t have the nerve to look at Baekhyun again.

So you do the only thing you can think of and thrust the items you're holding at Mr Sato. Run as fast as you can to the stairwell, and find the nearest hole to jump into, aka your apartment.

Your knees ache as you force yourself up each flight. You can’t even remember the last time you used the stairwell and when you finally reach the threshold of your apartment you collapse against the door.

What on earth were you thinking?

What gave you the right to assume anyone would recognise you after ten years?

What was he even doing here? As that final thought crosses your mind someone knocks at your door.

You jump at the abrupt noise, chest still tight from the anxiety (or the running). But there’s no way you’re answering the door.

Your legs still feel like jelly and you really fear that Mr Sato has come to scold you or worse Baekhyun has followed you.

But he wouldn’t know which apartment you lived in. Would he?

You pull yourself to your feet and glance through the peephole.

You watch as Baekhyun turns away from your front door and disappears towards the next apartment.

No way.

*Slam*

Shit.

How do you study?

Tomorrow is the big Test for Rainbow Dash to be a part of the reserves. Twilight is freaking out as always, and she’s not even taking it. Rainbow Dash seems calm but Twilight decides to try to help Rainbow Dash study. Two things to point out. First:

Rainbow Dash: Twilight, not everypony gets all freaked out about tests like you.

Twilight Sparkle: I do not get "all freaked out" about tests!

Rainbow Dash: Uh, seriously? Your freakouts are so epic, you sing whole freakout arias about freaking out.

Second: since this episode, there’s another show that put emphasis on intellectual knowledge beyond your natural talent. Dragon Ball Super has a Inter-Dimensional Tournament where the only way to participate is to pass a written exam. Goku barely passed while Buu failed. Granted, knowing the history of a business isn’t necessary to be part of it, but it helps to fuel your passion towards that job.

Twilight tried her various methods of studying, but Rainbow Dash wasn’t really getting into it. I think its because she wasn’t seeing how much of a big deal this test was at the time. More on this later. But after failing a pop quiz from Twilight, Rainbow Dash now realizes the situation she is in: if she fails this test she will not become a Wonderbolt.

After a short argument that was stopped by Fluttershy, the shy one shares her studying style with Dash: watching a visual history lesson. Now how does Fluttershy know more about the Wonderbolts than Rainbow Dash? Well, notice who is actually directing it. This maybe Fluttershy’s style but its Spike’s play. This does not work since Rainbow Dash can not interpret the Animals.

Pinkie Pie’s turn and she tries to teach through song. I think the only problem is she’s using rap when Rainbow Dash is clearly a rock fan. So how does Pinkie Pie know the history? She is the Super Party Pony of Ponyville and others are fans of the Wonderbolts. And we’ve seen how thorough she can get.

Rarity’s is roleplaying. Granted, her knowledge of the Wonderbolts is pretty much only about the fashion sides of things but its kind of nice knowing Rarity’s obsession with acting in Pony Life came from. Meanwhile Applejack’s method is just years of knowledge gained through passion.

Now why does Rainbow Dash, someone who wants to be a Wonderbolt, don’t have the same passion as Applejack does with Apples? Its because Rainbow Dash is a fan of the Modern Wonderbolts. Like in wrestling terms, you can be a fan of Roman Reigns or Kenny Omega yet have no clue who Bruno Sammartino or Bob Backlund are.

All this failure to learn through their methods make Rainbow Dash sad. When Twilight tried to cheer her up, she discovers Rainbow Dash has the agility to do multiple things while flying. Granted, her ego or frustration has lead her to crash a couple of times but this does show how good of a flier she is. And it gives Twilight a plan...

Get all of Ponyville to help Rainbow Dash Study. Ironically, this is technically like the flash card technique just on a larger scale. I’m pretty sure if you scale it back while she’s doing activities she can retain it. But this is also why Ponyville is such a safe place to be outside the numerous attacks. Everyone knows everyone. And if one goes rouge, they can always do what Townsville did during Collect Her.

Thanks to the Flash Mob Flash Cards, Rainbow Dash aces her test and is a few seasons away from being a full fledge Wonderbolt. Overall it is a fun episode showing all sorts of studying methods while showing how close Ponyville citizens are with each other. As for the changes, they are the same as last time.

Tag people you want to know better / catch up with. I've been tagged by @ashfae and I’m not surprised at all - she probably noticed how much I love tag games; and the second I saw someone on my dash answering those questions I hoped Ashfae will be a dear and will tag me, and of course I wasn’t wrong - so thank you!

Last song: Zbigniew Preisner - Niebo (Sky) - performed by Elżbieta Towarnicka It’s the last piece with lyrics I listened to, so I guess I should choose this one. It’s an aria from Preisner’s ‘De Aegypto’ (called also ‘Egyptian Opera’), which is... I’m not entirely sure what is that - it was a spectacle performed in TV, but I never listened and seen all of it, and I don’t think it’s available in any way, legally or illegaly. You may know Preisner as a composer who created film scores for Krzysztof Kieślowski’s movies, the best known of which are The Three Colours Trylogy (’White’, ‘Blue’ and ‘Red’) and ‘The Double Life of Veronique’. Elżbieta Towarnicka is his probably favourite performer, and you will clearly hear why (she worked with him also on scores for films I just mentioned). The piece itself was inspired by the Egyptian Book of the Dead and the lyrics refer to it.

You know what, this is such a beautiful song and lyrics in the comments are not properly translated, so I’ll do it for you:

* Using one word for naming the days - yesterday, today and tomorrow - sounds kinda dull here, because the language of this song is very formal. Normally when we want to say ‘yesterday’, we say just ‘wczoraj’ instead of ‘dzień wczorajszy’ (day... yesterday-y??? the first word means just ‘day’, the second word is an adjective), and that rather unusual pattern was used here to describe the days. I have no clue if English has any equivalent of that; but I felt giving you this information is important.

** The verb here, ‘trwać’, have many meanings, and one of them is ‘to last’. I’m not sure if that’s perfect word here - maybe I should choose ‘stay’. 'Trwać’ means here that the brightness in his heart will not fade away - it’s so special not because the circumstances are unfavourable for it to exist, but because that described being is a creature with an unique nature that ensures him to keep the brightness in himself.

*** Do you remember that iconic line from ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ with Gary Oldman? ‘I have crossed oceans of time to find you’? This is exactly the meaning. ‘Przemierzać’ means to travel for a very long time and across a huge distance, so the journey feels like it will never end (which doesn’t have to be an unpleasant feeling). It can be a journey repeated routinely on one road (like the sun, or the ship that cruises between two harbors) or a way of roaming through large space in many directions (like a continent or a sea).

Hey, look who started babbling again, how unexpected.

Last movie: At home: ‘Secretary’ (2002). I’ve seen it many years ago and didn’t remember much, and now I liked it a lot. For my film d’auteur class: ‘La Chute de la Maison Usher’ by Jean Epstein. Pure beauty. And I gave in on Thursday and went to IMAX to watch ‘Tenet’. I’m very serious about this whole pandemic business, but I sure as hell ain’t gonna watch this movie for the first time on the screen of my laptop. I’m not entirely sure what happened, this whole wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff was too complicated to understand so quickly, so I’ll definitely watch it again, but it blew me away and that’s exactly what I wished to happen.

Currently Watching: ‘Supernatural’. It’s the last season, five episodes left... Ugh, I’m already getting nervous. And I guess that’s it... I haven’t watched any new show lately, except for miniseries like ‘Des’ (GOSH that was so good). I don’t feel like starting any new shows and when a few months ago I tried to watch ‘Masters of Sex’ I’ve noticed binge-watching makes me very depressed and nervous very easily, so I stopped. I have a few shows I’m planning to watch, but not many, i.e. ‘Killing Eve’, ‘The Terror’ and ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ - the last one mostly because Marcin Dorociński plays in it - this dude should be more famous than Leonardo DiCaprio and win one award after another. If you have HBO GO, ‘Bez tajemnic’ (’Without secrets’), Polish version of ‘In treatment’, should be available there - there are plenty of incredible and legendary actors in this show, but he is the absolute star of it. And for fellow David Tennant’s fans out there: I haven’t watched ‘Spies of Warsaw’ yet, but Dorociński played Antoni Pakulski there and certainly was great too.

Currently Reading: I just started ‘My Brilliant Friend’ by Elena Ferrante - my therapist says I’m very much like the title character and I’m very curious what does it mean. I have also a few articles about theory of cinema to read for my tomorrow’s course: ‘On the politique des auteurs’ and ‘The Ontology of the Photographic Image‘ by André Bazin and ‘The birth of a new avant-garde: La caméra-stylo’ by Alexandre Astruc. SO damn interesting. And SHIT-TON of books about Medea - I’m writing my master’s thesis about her, but please don’t ask me about it, I’m already panicking.

Currently Craving: A good long sleep that would last for at least eight hours. To feel strong and healthy enough (I’m extremely tired, my back and stomach hurt like hell) so I could be able to clean up a little, wash my woolen sweaters by hand (I’m not throwing them into washing machine, they cost too much to risk any damage), organize my desk and uni notes from last year... I’m in one of those rare, but powerful moods of making lists of things to take care of and just... putting my world in order. And visiting places. And I would gladly just spend nice, simple time with some of my friends - just having fun and talking about important, but not especially painful stuff. I really, really need to meet with Olaf, my best friend from work, and joke with him, and talk with him like a new bi person with an old-timer gay person, and get to know him better.

Anyone surprised my replies are so long? I’m not.

First time meeting

It was the second day back at school. Nico wishes he could have been there for the first but his flight back from italy had been delayed and there was no way he could make it. Not to mention that he’d had a bit too much complimentary champagne on the way here, afternoon drinking, he scoffed. He thought he got it all out of his system in his college days. But, his college days were far behind him. College Nico wouldn’t be caught dead in anything that wasn’t black,red or littered with skulls and crossbones. He looked down at the faded black and white baseball tee he was wearing that said draw. paint. Create. on it and frowned, at least he kept some of his old aesthetic. He was happy with his clothes and even happier where he was, even if he’s breathed in enough paint fumes to border toxicity. He had his sister, he had his students, he had his very convenient complimentary parking sticker.

He also had his hour-long break to do whatever he wanted.

That sounds like heaven but it was put in place more out of necessity than their consideration for the brunet. He usually spent that time cleaning up the art stations and picking pencils and paint brushes off the floor. Not great for his back but in his four years teaching here he’s learned that slipping on said items is the greater of two evils. Today being the first day was a free draw day so there wasn’t much to do besides pick up pencils and papers. Once he righted his classroom his mind swirled with the endless possibilities. He could swing by the coffee shop around the corner, he could pop upstairs for a bit to bother Hazel, he could laminate name tags! The last idea made his heart soar. Coffee, then name tags he reasoned, then grabbed his wallet and dashed out the door.

It was the second day back at school and Will was already in full swing. He’d been so excited to get back to it that he’d been doing lesson plans since August. He’d flown back in from Texas just a few days ago, with a cleared mind and an amazing tan he was ready to get this started. Each little table had an assigned color with five little name tags around it. Today and tomorrow would be get to know you days, the real learning could start on monday.

“Alright guys!”He said holding up a hand, “who wants to be my special helper and pass out these papers?”

A chorus of little voices chanting ‘me! me!’ rang through the classroom and he laughed lifting another hand to silence them.

“Okay okay!”he giggled, and scanned the room. “I saw Fawna-did I say that right?”

The little girl nodded happily and he continued addressing the class, “I saw Fawna sitting patiently with a quiet hand so Fawna gets to help right now”

The class immediately erupted into an organized objection but he held up one finger and the room fell hushed. He had a three strike rule, if he had to raise three fingers and the class still wasn’t listening they wouldn’t sing a song that day.

“I pinky promise that all of you will get to be helpers this year. We’re gonna be together for ten months, that's a long time”He said with wide eyes, the students mimicked his shocked expression and nodded along.

“That’s longer than forever…”a student said in awe.

“It’s longer than two forevers”Will said, “Hold on Fawna, let me just count these papers”

He quickly ran the pile through..then again...then a third time and pulled a face. He knows math isn’t his strong suit, but he was way off.

“Was wrong Mr.Solace?”A student asked.

“It seems that I made a mistake,”He said.

“A mistake!”The students gasped, he pulled another face and they giggled amongst themselves.

“Alright you silly billies, you heard me! I’ve made a mistake!”He cried and placed a hand to his forehead. The class laughed harder and he finally broke character to laugh with them, maybe he should thank Apollo. Drama classes did come in handy.

“But being serious it’s okay to make mistakes, even adults make mistakes”He said, the same look of awe crossed a few students' faces. He hoped this wasn’t their first time hearing this, but the said truth is that it probably was.

“Is okay as long as you fix it, right?”Tommie asked.

“Correct!”Will exclaimed, “It’s okay to make mistakes as long as you fix them and learn from them”

Maybe it was a little early on in their lives for them to get the complete message but he would drive this point home before they reached kindergarten.

He crossed the room and opened the door to the conjoined classroom across from his. A few whispered words later and he was addressing the class again.

“So”He said, “Mr.Solace is gonna go fix his mistake and print more paper for you guys. Mrs.Mack is next door if you need anything, I won’t be long”

Will left the room and practically raced down the hallway to the copy room. Mrs.Mack was strong but his students were stronger. If he spends more than ten minutes they’ll have convinced her for an early snacktime and to watch the lion king. He looked through the window of the copy room and smiled victoriously, it was empty. Oh he’s gonna have copies for days.

Will left the copy room with triple the paper and double the satisfaction. He may have hooked his phone up to it for activity sheets and he may have made extras of said activity sheets. But whatever he did was his business and he was pleased. He looked up and for a second his brain short circuited. His feet stopped moving and the papers in his hands went tumbling carelessly to the ground. Before him there was a man he’d never seen before, was he a parent? Oh god Will hoped he wasn’t a parent. He had olive skin and black hair and the prettiest eyes Will had ever seen. And he was bending down, why was he bending down? Will’s brain immediately kicked back into gear and realization and shame flooded his being simultaneously. He was staring and this handsome man was cleaning up his mess. He immediately dropped to the ground and scuttled about trying to hide his face and be efficient.

“I-I’m sorry about the mess, you don’t have to worry I got ‘em-”

“Relax”The man said, his voice sounded like an aria, “it’s my free period anyways” Well that made Will feel even worse. He wanted to stress the matter but he bit his lip and continued to scoop up papers. His face was bright red with shame, burning from his neck to the tips of his ears.

“Hey”The man said softly, “It’s okay, really. I’m the art teacher, I’m used to picking up papers, it’s kind of my job”

“I’m Will, Will Solace. I teach the preschool class down the hall”He said and despite the rosiness in his cheeks felt a smile tug on the corner of his lips.

“Nico Di Angelo, it’s a pleasure”Nico said and handed Will the mini stack of papers in his hand.

“Likewise”Will said and graciously accepted them. Nico Di Angelo, god did his name have to sound like music too?”

Before Will could book it back down the hallway, that sonnet of a man began to speak.

“Will”He called out.

“Yes?”Will answered.

“I think I'm teaching your class in a period or two,”He said. Will nodded and as he walked back down the hallway he swears he saw a sparkle in those dark eyes.

Soundtrack Update

Tomorrow will bring another batch of soundtracks going onto eBay, for which I will make a post when they go up. For those of you looking to keep convenient track of these, here is a link to my seller page so you can see all of whatever I have up at any given time. The first batch of CDs still has a little over 4 days to go!

Some of you have asked questions. Questions are good! They show that I’m more interesting than annoying, mostly.

Do these soundtracks contain spinecards (obi)? Most of them do. Some may have been acquired without them or I may have misplaced them in the very early days of my collecting. If this is a deal-breaker, ask about any CD you need to.

Can you combine shipping? You sure can. I’ll be more than happy to send multiple CDs and charge only the total amount of shipping.

Is there a full list of all the soundtracks that will be auctioned? There is now. I have painstakingly written down the names of each of the soundtracks to be auctioned, 238 in total. It was a little less than I thought; some of them took up large space on the shelves and skewed my calculations. For the sake of your dashboard, the full list is under the cut.

Calvin Harris, NGHTMRE, Martin Garrix & More Take Over The Strip For EDC Week With Hakkasan Group

This weekend, Electric Daisy Carnival finally returns and we’re super excited about it. But before the festivities begin on the Speedway, the Strip in Las Vegas will have loads of artists dropping in and throwing down major sets in more intimate settings.

Hakkasan Group will host a number of artists across its properties on the strip, including flagship venue Hakkasan Nightclub, as well as OMNIA Nightclub, JEWEL, 1OAK, Liquid, and Wet Republic.

On Saturday, May 18, be sure to catch Calvin Harris at Hakkasan for his very first time performing under the newly installed, 30 foot showpiece “Hakkasan Grid” which will adorn the club’s ceiling from now on. Connected via 169 high-precision winches, the centerpiece can transform with the nightclub’s musical landscape into infinite shapes and colors above the dance floor.

On Thursday, May 16, talk all things EDC and more over brunch with LA-rising star, NGHTMRE. A group of 10 winners selected at random via ticket purchase will indulge in a custom menu from Herringbone at ARIA followed by a VIP experience with hosted bottle service at LIQUID Pool. Fans will enjoy a keepsake from the day including a photo session, autograph and custom NGHTMRE voicemail.

On Sunday, May 19, join international superstar, Martin Garrix, for his single release party for his new poolside smash, “Summer Days” featuring Macklemore and Fall Out Boy singer, Patrick Stump. Garrix will perform his fresh summer anthem among a portfolio of other hits while pool-goers enjoy Garrix-branded giveaways.

Fictionerd’s Log February 22

It’s taken two days but I’ve finally found the doors to the basement. I think Aria twigged to what I was doing and helped me out. Honestly given her power over the Library’s layout. It’s entirely possible she’s been helping me the whole time. She’s the sort who would quietly let some one be alone with a problem when she realized that’s what they were trying to do. If I’m right on that thanks, sis.

Haven’t had the courage to go down into the old lab yet. I shouldn’t be this irrationally fearful of what I might find down there, but some part of me can’t help but feel like things are going to go poorly. We’ve got maybe another two days before we reach the Library’s origin point in the Record. Something is calling to it. There are only four people who should be able to do that. Synopsis: This episode seems to wrap up the Imaginator plotline. At least for now anyway. It’s very much like the wrapup to the Manticore arc in that it’s a linear progression of events with little to no juggling.

Picking up from Masaki’s call at the end of last episode Orihata tries to get him to back down, but he’s able to tell she’s under duress. He tells whoever else is listening in that if they harm Orihata he’ll personally make them pay. He then STEALS HIS SISTER’S MOTORCYCLE AND HEADS OFF TO THE RESCUE.

Meanwhile Suema is sitting in the hospital with the recovering Kotoe who tells her about the tower in the unfinished amusement park. We get a touching moment out of Kotoe where she admits that she realizes her feelings for Jin were confused, but really she just wants to see him again. She wants them to go back to the way things were. Truly tugged at my heartstrings that. Walking home from the hospital with Touka, Suema has an epiphany moment and heads off to investigate on her own. Of course this just won’t do.

Cutting back to Masaki in full idiot hero mode. He climbs the fence to the amusement park having deduced Orihata’s location because of the plane noise he heard in the background of the call and having looked up to see the tower. Once he gets inside Jin sics a bunch of brainwashed teens in mascot costumes on him to sedate him only for who to show up but... well you should already know.

Epic fight scene ensues in which all of the punks are swiftly dealt with and Masaki has a moment of clarity where he goes. “Holy shit I was trying to pretend I was THIS!?” You know who uses their typical roundabout methods to get Masaki to realize that he was missing some memories from his encounter with Spooky E earlier in the story, and draws parallels from that to how living life based on others reactions and expectations basically leads to the same outcome. Only when it’s society doing the brainwashing you don’t even get the courtesy of a specific person to place the blame on and connect the dots.

Having thusly dispensed both wisdom and ass-whoopings, not wholly in equal measure, our friend in the hat and cloak dashes off to be all mysterious at Jin and confront Imaginator.

Their confrontation is a lot less physical and a lot more mugging for the camera. You-know-who basically tells Jin to go ahead and try is cockamamie scheme and when he does, whoops turns out he can’t interact with Orihata’s heart. Too bad, so sad, take a free exorcism and some whiplash as your consolation prize.

Then attention turns to Orihata. She was convinced that Jin’s powers didn’t work on her because she wasn’t human, but our mutual friend was like, “Pfft what? You thought that mattered? Nah, kid, he couldn’t touch you because he was a basic bitch who didn’t understand how hearts work. It’s not like we’re all missing shit. We grow and change throughout life. Every change he made up til now was only temporary and the only reason he couldn’t realize that is that he’s been stagnant way too long and the most significant changes he made to people were right before they died.”

They then proceed to tell Orihata that she was really being protected by some one, and maybe she ought to go check on him.

Meanwhile Imaginator appears to Masaki and says, “You interesting kiddo. I dun fucked this up, but at least I can leave you with some quasi-ominous foreshadowing. Peace out Imma dissolve into flower petals now.”

Then Suema finally gets over the fence and to Masaki, but at this point the whole thing is over. Our phantasmal pal speaks to Suema as a disembodied voice saying, “Everythings wrapped up here. There’s a girl and Asukai Jin in the tower over there. If you could bring her down to see that dork I’d be grateful.”

So our story ends with Masaki waking up with his head resting in Orihata’s lap, and she’s showing the most emotion we’ve seen out of her, and Nagi gets a last minute rap to his forehead as though to say, “You suicidally heroic idiot. Where’d you learn to be that reckless.” I half expected him to reply “I learned it from watching YOU!”

Thoughts: I can’t decide if this was climactic or anti-climactic. Regardless it was an excellent wrap-up to the Imaginator storyline. Episode 10 is actually out already, but I’m going to actually hold off on that. I’ll probably cover it next Thursday assuming things have settled down by then. For now this seems like a good enough place to wrap things up for this week. I’ve got some shit to do tomorrow.
