Some pictures from where I am curently writing my formative essay, plus bonus pics from last nights sky. Apparently it is because of a dust storm in the Sahara so I like to think that it has come from the eye of the Sahara, a suspected site for Atlantis and my fav, it is nice to think Atlantis could have made it to the skies of England. Plus, ever since finding out about it, I have always wanted to visit but apparently it is a very dangerous area which would make it not really possible to visit, so if this is the only way I will get to experience it, I am okay with that.

Our teacher for Shakespeare recommends us to think about performance and staging in his plays, as well as links to other media’s, this is leading me to recognise so many things in his plays, like how Hamlets speech closely mirrors Lydia’s song dead mom in beetle juice. We also did some performing this morning of MND where we related it to the barbue movie -character designs coming soon ;)

Her are some pictures I have taken in the last few weeks, while I have not been posting -mostly because I have been too busy with non-study things. I am now going into the second week of spring term (which, fyi, takes place entirely in winter) and I have a lot on my plate right now, or rather, the intensity of one thing is enlarging my perception of everything. That one thing is my application for study abroad. Finally I have made my top five choices, now I need to answer two four hundred word questions. At the same time, I need to finish reading Richard the second, preferably, before my lecture at five pm today, and now most of my nights are taken up for rehearsals for my unis production of into the woods. On the bright side, all of this studying has resulted in me earning enough coins in study bunny to buy a lava lamp <3

Campus at sunset last night was unendingly beautiful. Also, I finished my Darren paintings as well as tried using oil pastels (which I haven’t really used before) and I am quite happy with the results :) additionally, I finally got around to starting Beowulf last night and I am extremely excited as it contains a critical essay by JRR Tolkien

I am now around 150 pages from the end of Moby Dick. If you have seen my previous post you may be wondering how I have managed to read -44 pages, and that is because I do art and English, not maths. I somehow became convinced that there was only 100 pages between 400 and 600, but that’s not important. This selection of teacups and saucers is what I got today from the charity shop, and it was only £1 for all of them!!!! Super fun

I only have 104 pages of Moby Dick left :D I am determined it will be finished by the end of the week. Also, I finished my oil paintings of Darren Criss yesterday! Obviously the tape still needs to come off but I’m pretty happy with them, especially the guitar one ;) also also I went to coco playa, a coconut cafe in London, and it is the best cafe ever with the worlds nicest servers, if you get to London any time soon I would highly recommend it👍

The essay illness is really setting in, I have decided that I am going to have to slightly sacrifice the quality of my work for my health because I am finding it incredibly difficult to research secondary sources and I really have no energy left to do it so I am just going to use the one that I found (which, in fairness, is pretty good by itself), technically we do not even have to use secondary sources, so it will hopefully be okay. I am jut going to finish planning it today and then try and write it all up tomorrow (it is only 1000 words so it hopefully shouldn’t take too long) and then I can just edit both the essay the day after and then it will be done and I can get back to my oil painting! :D

I finished yesterday’s essay for my writing America module, s today I will be starting on my Old English literature one. But I was wondering if anyone else gets ill when they write essays? Because for me, everytime tat I write an essay it ends up making me feel ill and no one irl seems to share the same problem. (Also, I brought Cosmo with me today to be a study buddy, meanwhile I have left Appa at home reading the secret history.

I have a very cute setup today for a very painful essay. I don’t know why it is painful, really there is no reason why it should be, but for some reason it is. Regardless, I will finish it today and maybe edit it tonight as I am watching some films (I am going to be watching a whole bunch of found footage films as research for art, also just because it is one of my favourite film genres). I came into the library at eight this morning, but sadly forgot my coffee, which will now be just sat on my desk in my room :(🌸🪷 Also, it has been so cold recently. The heating has only een on once for twenty minutes in my house so it is literally like an ice cube in there, and even the library is not very warm. I bought thermals and they are really comfy and a nice extra layer, but still not warm enough. I like autumn and winter but I would like to have a normal body temperature at the same time

The campus is very busy today as the university is having an open day, but I think it is actually quite fun. I am hoping to have my essay ready to write by the end of the day. I currently feel (and have felt for the past two weeks) like that meme of that person with their fists in front of them and they are vibrating (both with excitement and anxiety) because tomorrow I am going to see Darren Criss -I have been obsessed with all of team StarKid for almost half of my life- hopefully once it is over that buzzing energy will have gone and then I will be able to settle down and write my essays. I’m trying not to think about it to be honest, too many thoughts all at once. It will also be my first ever concert (which is fitting, I think) plus I am meeting with my friend and staying at her place in London :DDD

I have officially emotionally attached myself to both of my English seminar leaders and I have been in the studio All day working on my A1 art piece which is the dolls head, but I’m still not 100% so what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna add some eyes in the black space because I’m not very good with leaving blank space in my work, I always feel like it’s lacking something and maybe I do need to learn to accept blank Space, but I’m gonna add the eyes and see how it looks, but I can just paint over them in black if it looks bad

Today, as a second year I, or the first time, learned how to use the universities computers and printers💪 (before, if I was asked to print something out, I would just hand write the whole thing, but considering that what I needed to print today was a script, I thought I had Bette learn to print). Also, I finished the scarlet letter and just wanted to say: isn’t it fun putting random references in book annotations? I love it <3
