I went on some kinda 'imagine your OTP" blog and saw one where Person A was cursed so that all the food they lift to their mouth tastes yucky and falls in love with Person B and finds out that s/he is a renowned cook. B figures out how to bypass the curse by simply lifting the food to A's mouth him/herself. A is overjoyed to finally be able to appreciate B's work and I imagined Bucky as A and Steve as B so...just thought this was cute so I shared it. I'll be off.

Okay. Okay, I've had a thought: Imagine an AU where Steve and Bucky meet by chance on the front lines in WW2 and, through the horrible conditions, forge their friendship. Always checking each others backs, always making sure that they're right next to each other. However, when a piece of shrapnel takes off Bucky's left arm, Steve is devastated and thinking Bucky's going to die drags his best friend-no, even CLOSER than best friend-through all the muck and blood until he gets to a medical stop and nearly refuses to leave until he's forced back out by his superiors. Bucky ends up being discharged and sent back to America, but Steve is none the wiser. Completely torn apart by the anxiety if whether or not Bucky survived, it's not until the war ends and he goes back home that he finds out the truth: Bucky's been waiting for him all this time. Overwhelmed by emotion, Steve pushes forwards until he's right in front of Bucky, speechless but smiling like an idiot. Bucky just smirks a little, and like he's been planning for months, reaches up and lifts off Steve's hat, flipping it up to hide their faces while he leans in and Steve leans down to meet in a kiss.

Bucky tends to call Steve "Stevie" when, and only when he wants to get away with something. More often than not, it's something big that Bucky knows Steve will be angry at him for. I have fallen slightly in love with my head canon keyworker Bucky. I can see him all scruffy and man-bunned with sharpies in his utility belt (the yellow one is actually a grenade, just to be on the safe side - and yellow sharpies are from the devil) I could see him getting really passionate about how people with ABI are treated, getting really stuck in in groups, sitting on the floor helping people draw life maps, being really proud of helping people get their dignity and self-esteem back. And Steve, Steve is so ‘effing proud of this new Bucky, the one that rose from the ashes. He doesn’t care that Bucky isn’t the 1944 model. He loves the new one just as he is. At night Steve tells Bucky the story of grandfathers shovel. It lasted him sixty years, with three new handles and two new scoops. Steve loves musicals (especially the Sound of Music and Grease) but he tries to keep a secret. In order to keep it that way, he watches them when Bucky is either gone or asleep. One day, Steve's sitting in his room watching the Sound of Music and softly singing the words to the songs to himself. In the middle of a song, Bucky opens the door and walks in, stops and stares at Steve in confusion and slowly puts his hands up. He slowly backs out of the room saying "nope" and goes to his room.
