So if I've got this right, Yemen has been blocking ship trades in the Red Sea as an act of solidarity with Palestine. Hoping that by hurting Isreal monetarily it might force it to surrender its siege against the people of Gaza.
Yemen has been very clear it is disrupting the shipping lanes as an act of Protest and Solidarity.
Now, the USA is bombing Yemen.
Because anything other than full submission and subjugation is an act of war, apparently

I often watch videos of the ocean
And they certainly are very relaxing
The gental rhythm of waves rolling against the sand
Match your breathing with it and soon you can drift off to sleep
But its nothing like actually being there
First the smell
Its thick
Before youve smelt it you cant imagine what the word briny means
Its salty, sure. But theres a heaviness there as well
Salt, seaweed, a bit of decay, and a strong blast of fresh breeze
It clings to you
Your hair will soak it up and either fall flat or bounce up with frizzy curls
Then the sand. Its soft and course all at once
Going barefoot feels more comfortable
You sink in and are craddled by the grains
But when you try to walk they try to keep you
And so it is a constant struggle to move
The waves crashing against the beach is loud
But just as comforting as the videos make it seem
It really does seem like breathing
Each crash is a breath out and when the tide is pulled back thats a breath in.
Being in the ocean tho
You can feel it
The tide feels alive
It takes all of your strength just to stay in place
Because if you rest for a moment
The tide will pull you away
Into the oceans embrace

To me, I hold the One Piece Live Action with the same reverence as I do Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings.
It is a beautiful dramatization that, while it will never be able to cover the scope and complexity of the original, is able to embody the spirit of what made the story so beloved.
I feel also confident to compare One Piece to The Lord of the Rings.
Both are stories about a band of heroes who travel far across a wild, ruined world for a piece of treasure whose fate will change everything and free everyone.
Set in fantastical worlds that not so subtly mirror our own.
The Lord of the Rings is one of the best stories ever written. It was written to feel like a mythology lost to time. Something ancient and forgotten and unreal but hiding bits of truth.
And I truly believe One Piece is similar. I think its one of the greatest stories ever written.
One that has been spread all over the world. The comic circulating in 43 countries and now the live action show available in 84.
Can you imagine that scope? Can you imagine your story being read by so many people from all over the world? Can you imagine how long that legacy could be?
One Piece is the highest sold manga in the world, almost the highest selling comic in the world, and soon will surpass Harry Potter in general printed book sales. It has a theme park, restaurants, movies, shows, video games, toys.
How will all of this translate to a lasting legacy?
Will Luffy be as long-lasting as Frodo? As Hamlet? As Hercules? As Gilgamesh?
What will happen in the years after he finds the One Piece?
I, for one, think Luffy will go down in history as the most famous pirate in fiction. Truly becoming, King of the Pirates.
(Anyways, ive been over thinking again. And, i just love One Piece so much. What are y'alls thoughts?)

There's something about how in the OPLA, everywhere Luffy goes, he brings laughter and smiles to people's faces.
How Luffy is able to compel people to share with him their innermost truths and dreams.
How so often Luffy is haloed in light, with sunbeams sometimes right behind him.
How every cartoonish idea for an attack he comes up with always seems to work.
How we literally see him free people from shackles.
Even in the live action, Luffy has been Joy Boy from the very beginning. ☀️

New Pokémon game idea:
Pokémon Evolved
Humans unlock the ability to evolve. Fusing with stones to gain typing abilities. Their bodies changing to match their typing.
Fire types whose hair becomes flame or red scales form on their skin.
Water types who grow webbed fingers ans can breathe underwater.
Ghost types who can levitate and phase through walls.
Every type is different, and every person looks unique. No two people are alike.
Some people fan fuse to two evolution stones. But most cant even do one.
Those who are really poweful can do three or more.
But no one has been able to hold all stone types at once.
That person would be mythic.
Pokemon Evolved would be about the main character traveling the world and leveling up and learning elemental stone powers. Until getting all of them ane becoming a Mythic Type Pokemon.
I think the world is in a semi feudal stage and fighting denotes rank in society. The character can rise in social rank through battles and gym appraisals.
Until reaching Mythic class and becoming ruler of the kingdom!

My DnD group didnt seem to like my Half Dragon Wizard character very much. So here, unto Tumblr I release her
She is the daughter of a princess who fell in love with the dragon who rescued her from her family.
She was locked away in a tower her whole life, hidden because of her bestial visage. The shackles around her wrists and neck are magic and kept her from leaving.
Her parents weren't monsters tho. They were "protecting" her. And so they allowed her to train with a wizard. Hopefully to gain abilities to change how she looks.
But as she grew in power, it only made her more frustrated that she was trapped in the tower. So she trained as hard as she could, and using magic, escaped the tower.
Now she is on the search for adventure and to grow as a powerful wizard.
(I think she looks super cool. But eh oh well. Would be fun to play her someday.)

Trying to prove a point that people DO actually like these "weird" fun campy stories.
And of course, reblogging helps the sample size blah blah blah. Reblog if you see your favorite movie and want it to win, I guess lol

Honestly, it's so wild tumblr isn't obsessed with Willow. With all the talk of love for old campy scifi fantasies like Zena, Farscape, Stargate, Buffy, the list goes on. You'd think tumblr would love a show that honors the old campy style while merging it with a more modern rebellious style. It's a show that has scenes with rock music that watch like a youtube scene compliation. It feels like fanfiction. But in a good way. In the way that fanfic writers know how to choose exciting scenes and weave epic romances and character arcs with action. It's a show with lesbians whose love language is sword fighting. A rogueish himbo who is loyal and witty and there's a whole scene where he plays sexy in a waterfall and he likes to get tied up by his girlfriend. The saddest nerdiest emo bard with a heart of gold. And, a female chosen-one, almost like a firey fanon Zelda - learns magic but is most passionate about cooking. Like... I could go on. The plot is fun and exciting. Reminds me of playing DnD with my friends. The cast is fun and weird and queer and make playlists for their characters and like our fanart.
Like, its just wild to me. But anyways, if you read this and are intrigued and havnt seen Willow yet. Please do. Im reaching out my hand, asking you to trust me. Its so good.

Hey Willow Fandom, I have a wild theory. Im doing a rewatch, and I'm at the scene in The Gales where Graydon reads the Pnakoptic written on the Mother's Gate. And as he is reading, the world shakes. Specifically when he mentions the Wyrm's Harbinger.
And when we get to the end of the season, Graydon wakes up in the Wyrm's domanion. With what seems like an illusion of Elora. (I have mixed feelings on if she is Wyrm Illusion Elora or Corrupted Future Elora.) And she tells him she needs him. To bring her light to the world. Very creepy Wyrm shit.
And, when the Crone is dying, she tells Airk he is the chosen Harbinger.
And this got me thinking, there must be some kind of prophecy for the Harbinger. Just like there was for Elora. Whispered hopes among the evil who serve the Wyrm.
I think in this prophecy, it must have been said that the Harbinger would be a man of great power. One to rival Elora's.
Which is why the Crone kidnaps Airk. Because he has the blood of Bavmorda, which should, in theory, mean he has great magic potential.
I think Sorsha suspects this, and that's why she gives the warning to Kit.
But I think the Crone got the prophecy wrong. I think Graydon was the dark prince promised. I mean, heck, still at a beginner level, he impressed the Crone with his magic. If the Wyrm were to guide him and lend him his magic, then Graydon could have unlimited potential.
Graydon is the Harbinger.
Which is why the ground shook when he read the bloody runes. Its like a narrative forshadowing of his destiny.
Or, at least. Thats my theories. Im pretty sure the writer gave him such a minor, comedic role to make it more shocking and novel when this is all revealed.
I also think it lends to a potentially cool "fuck destiny" moment. That i think everyone in the party needs to have.
Anways. Thanks for coming to my rambling ted talk.
Side thought: I saw on some fandom wiki that Pnakoptic is a reference to a Lovecraft story. And I think that is so interesting. Like. This means the Wyrm is more than some lazy "fantasy devil lord of darkness" reference. No, the Wyrm is a straight up Lovecraftian elder god.
Its interesting that he's a wyrm. Because worms bore holes into things. Their bodies snaked and nestled snug inside. Like a parasite it feeds and the thing dies.
I think the Wyrm is doing that to the planet. We see him in his own realm. But we are told he's actually some place sleeping. So what if is just a dream realm we see. And his real self is snaked deep throughout the world. His body appearing on the surface occasionally as we see when Elora looks out the door.
Eldricht gods are beings of illusions and nightmares and horrors beyond compression and possession. Above all, they are of unknowable madness and manipulation.
Also, a key thing. They are beings of knowledge.
Graydon is the smartest person in the party. He's basically done nothing but read his entire life.
Most people in eldricht horror stories that try to understand elder gods knowledge go mad. And maybe thats what the lich process is in Willow. The Crone and all them are corrupted by the power and knowledge the Wyrm can give.
Which brings us to Graydon. Maybe he's smart enough that he can learn without getting too corrupted. His mind in tact, so the Wyrm can have a tool, not a puppet.
In most Eldricht stories, people who mess with dark magic die. I know Graydon "died" so this is a mooy point. But still.
I hope, that the show continues to subvert tropes and that there are themes of fighting against destiny. And we see Graydon either not becoming the Harbinger, or using his Harbinger powers for good instead of evil.
Ok, second ramble over.

"As the world caves in" is such a well written song. Fuck.
Like, first, it's a product of its time. Nihilism and pessimism about the future are at a peak. Our collective conscience has sitting in the back of our minds how, at any moment, we could all die to nuclear annihilation. Every news report that shows countries having even slight animosity towards each other brings a nagging anxiety. That this could be it.
And so the song plays on that. Highlighting that fear.
But it acknowledges that this is not a new fear. It uses music that is nostalgic and dreamy. Old fashioned mixed with new waves. Its a cross generational era piece about love.
Love. It's timeless. As long as there have been people, there has been love.
And this song draws you in, puts you in the arms of your lover and asks you to imagine the end of the world. What would you do?
Reach for your loved one. Make your last moments one of love instead of fear. A chance to say I Love You and Goodbye.
Remember, when you're mad and frustrated at news or whatever, remember how precious life and love are. If we escalate our hate, look at what we risk to lose.
The song invokes all that. And so much more that i deleted cause feelings just keep coming when i hear this song.
The part when the music swells and the singer goes "cause (love) its you, that i lie with" and crescendos at "you". It invokes this feeling that the bomb hit. The one we are waiting for. We see it coming as the music quickens and grows louder. And are hit with it at "you". The orchestral part growing so loud as to almost drown out the singer. Whose voice is now a shouting crying confession of love, struggling to be heard over the bomb. But you can still hear it, the words shining through, love stronger than death. Stronger than fear.
Its such a powerful song. When i hear it my heart quickens and I can almost picture myself at the end of the world. How tragic and beautiful it could be. But while im struck by the beauty and Im really left with is the burning desire to make sure that ending doesnt happen.
I dont want my ending to be tragic. I dont want the world to end. I want to live to an old age with the people i love. And i want that for everyone else as well. The song almost feels like a call to action. Asking us to fight so that song remains a beautiful confession and not a tragic prediction.

You are constantly mocked for having such a weird superpower by all the other heroes. “The power to make anything into perfectly cooked soup”… One day, a massive meteor is barreling towards earth. As all the other heroes are panicking, you wait perfectly calm, at the impact zone, bowl in hand.

People who are confused about Bowuigi (Bowser x Luigi) make me chuckle.
Like... the ship features quite a few tropes found in straight women romance novels. So its not like this is coming out of no where.
You have the obvious monster with damsel trope. Which pairs with size difference, a hallmark in many ships. There's the power imbalance aspect, with bowser having both brute strength and is literally a King. Being captured and falling for your capture is a VERY common trope. Luigi being actually pretty competent and having latent magic abilities (lighting powers and ghost sensitivity) adds a "secretly capable magical main girl" energy. (Magical main girls often have a non-human love interest.) You've got opposites attract, sunshine and grumpy, shy and loud, and overly nice meets single dad. And dont even get me started on how often putting a finger or dangerous object under someone's throat is used in a sexual manner.
Like, if you are familiar with any of these tropes, then the ship shouldn't be a surprise. My theory is the only reasons anyone is shocked by it are because its a gay ship with typically feminine tropes and because Bowser is an actual monster. (Most of these tropes are used in straight ships and typically straight monster stories has the (typically male) monster character be mostly human, with only minor monster traits or turns Into a monster. Think any vampire or werewolf ship, or even most dragon ships.)
Anyways, if you open your hearts and minds, you will find that not only is the Bowuigi ship not surprising but is the most logical outcome for these characters. -bows- Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
