“Captains Call”
Summary: My take on the “Hold On” ending of ISWM. Also the Captain can speak, but is very quiet.
Warnings: General sadness, spoilers for ISWM, angst, Captains a pessimist, not proofread
Words: 517
This is also completely platonic.
The Captain sat down in front of the warp core, head in their hands, sighing a mix of despair and relief. Mark was behind them, so they thought.
He sat down next to the Captain, who didn’t move a muscle. For once, it was like they didn’t know what to do. Like they were lost. Through all of this it was shots of adrenaline, one after another disaster, dying all those times and never having the luxury of so much as a break. They’ve died, they’ve killed, and for what? For a dead starship in a sea of dying stars?
“I… I built the warp core.? It was me?” Mark finally broke the silence. The deafening, horrible silence, though this was hardly better. “..It was me.?”
“It doesn’t matter anymore.” The Captain spoke. Mark wasn’t quite sure he’d ever heard them utter more then a couple words once every blue moon or so.
Mark looked up at them, who was idly staring at the ground, their eyes glazed over with a look of exhaustion. Mark expected anger, rage. Maybe the Captain expected it too, but there was nothing. If anything, there was sympathy.
Mark closed his eyes, looking down. “Captain.. Captain I’m tired.” He said that as if it wasn’t already completely obvious. The bags under his eyes and the look of weariness. He had died far more then the Captain had, and you could tell by how he carried himself, how he talked, everything.
The worst part is that he didn’t die quick by a gunshot or head trauma like the Captain, if he was really here for as long as he claimed, it would have been dehydration that took his life. No doubt one of the slowest and most painful ways to go.
The Captain felt horrible. This was their crew. Their head engineer. They were meant to keep things this this from happening, it was their job to make sure nothing went wrong and yet… everything seemed so, so horribly awful.
“I don’t think I’ve slept, I don’t think I’ve slept at all..” He turned to face the Captain, this was the first time they made eye contact since Mark was begging them to let him go while the Captain looked him in the eyes while they destroyed what he spent an eternity in hell making, which already felt like an eternity ago. “Have… Have you..?”
The Captain shook their head and choked out what was meant to be a laugh, but sounded more like a choked sob and smiled a sickly sweet smile that was meant to be comforting. “No, no I don’t think I have.”
Mark nodded, looking back down at his feet with a a combination of regret, shame and agony painted on his face.
“Like I said—“ The Captain stood up, offering their hand to him to help him up. “It doesn’t matter. It’s over, we can go back to our ship and finally land on that planet with our colony. We can have what we wanted. Finally. Deal?”
Mark looked up at them, took their hand and nodded. “Deal.”

My ISWM fixation came back again, and I love me some angst that ends in fluff, so here we go.
Head Engineer!Mark x reader
The Captain is feeling insecure about their Captaining skills and are struggling to see that they did a good job in saving the universe. Oh, and they're also sleep deprived, good thing the Captain isn't alone in feeling this way.
------------------------------------------------------
You were tired. So very tired.
Sure, the ship status was normal, the colonists were safe and they were even thriving on their new planet now, but you restless. You've been like this for days.
Night after night, you got little sleep because what if something were to happen while you were asleep? The colonists could suddenly be in danger. Again. The ship can go kablooey. Again. Your entire crew can betray you. Again. And it would all be your fault because you're the captain and it's the Captain's job to look out for their crew. No matter what. You couldn't let them down again. These thoughts consumed your brain and prevented you from getting much sleep. And even when you did sleep, most of the time you had nightmares. Every mistake you made came back to haunt you.
The most frequent nightmare consisted of your beloved head engineer hitting you with a fire extinguisher, and then later screaming at you for destroying the Warp Core. Deep down, you knew very well that he didn't mean any of the hurtful things he said. However when you pair that with what Gunther, Burt, Celci, and even what Mack and Lady said at one point, it made you wonder: Are you actually a good Captain?
You could tell that your crew was proud of you for getting the colonists to the planet you were all on now, but did they truly mean it? I mean, How good of a captain can you be if you can't even get a full night's rest? And what kind of captain sits alone on a couch in the dining hall at 2:44 am, drinking tea instead of sleeping? The rest of the crew is sleeping soundly. Why can't you? Why can't you just get over it and see what what's happened happened. Mark did. He's over it. Mark went through the same shit you did and he's-
"Can't sleep Captain? Yeah.. me either." Your thoughts were interrupted by none other than Mark. Him speaking suddenly cause you to jump slightly, which he noticed and apologized for immediately.
"Sorry Captain, didn't mean to scare ya. But may I ask what you're doing up?" He asked, looking at you. You just shrugged. "I'm just not feeling super tired tonight I guess" You said, lying and looking down at your now super interesting mug. '#1 Captain' it said. You didn't even notice Mark sitting down besides you until he spoke again. "Well, I'm glad you're here." You were confused on why he would suddenly say that, but you weren't going to question it. You rarely ever questioned anything Mark did. You just trust him that much.
It was quiet for a moment. Just you, Mark, and a quiet ship ambience.
"Captain, are you doing okay?"
"Yeah. I'm okay."
Another moment of quietness passed. You realized you were done with your tea and placed your mug on the table.
"Captain, I've known you long enough to know that that's bullshit." You looked at him and before you could protest he continued on, placing a hand on your shoulder. "You can talk to me. You know that, right Captain?" You nodded, avoiding eye contact because you knew If you made eye contact you would start crying. However, you were going to start crying anyways because now Mark was hugging you.
"You're not alone Captain. Why else do you think I'm awake with you right now? It hasn't been easy for me either." He told you honestly, doing his best to comfort you. He knew you needed this hug and he did too.
After hugging for a little while and letting all of your tears out, Mark let go. "Thank you, Mark. I mean it. I really do."
"There's no need to thank me, Captain. You know I'm here for you whenever you need me." You nodded. "You know you're the best Head Engineer I could ever ask for, right?"
He scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Well obviously, just look at this ship it's perfect." He played it off like he knew he was the best Head Engineer, but in reality he was doubting it. At least you told him exactly what he needed to hear. Now's the time he should probably do the same for you.
"but you know... this ship wouldn't be the way it is now without it's #1 Captain." He continued, causing you to smile at him slightly, exhaustion very clear on your face. "but you need sleep, Captain- We both do."
"I don't know how though. I get so worried about literally everything that I can't sleep"
"Talk to me about it. Tell me everything." He insisted.
And you did. You told him just about everything that you went through while the ship was in the wormhole. Mark did the same.
You didn't realize how much pain you caused him by 'fixing it from the outside'. He watched you die over and over again and then he had to try to run the ship while you were gone and every single time, the ship didn't make it. You had no idea. How could you have known? You were just trying to save your people.
Mark didn't realize how much pain you were in either. You were blamed for everything that happened. Because you were the captain. You were in charge. But it was Marks fault. He built the Warp Core that destroyed everything. He had no idea. How could he have known? He was just trying to save everyone.
Both of you tried so hard. So very hard to fix things. You did eventually of course, but just cause the ship was okay, doesn't mean you either of you were. That's why you had each other though. You both were beginning to finally process everything that happened.
Talking to each other must have helped because you both ended up falling asleep right there in the dining hall, and for the first time since the ship got out of that wormhole, you slept all night. And half the day.
When you woke up, you saw Mark with a pair of glasses drawn out in sharpie. You could only imagine that your face had something similar on it. But hey, That's what you get for falling asleep somewhere other than your room while also having a very immature A.D.S lead whose love language is shooting away your problems and pulling pranks on the entire crew.
You'll get him back though, especially now that you're well rested for once.

150 Angst/Horror Prompts
“The screams all sound the same…”
“You’re gone… I watched you disappear…”
“We all watched it happened, and time stood still.”
“It feels as if time hasn’t passed”
“I feel stuck. And everyone is moving without me.”
“They keep staring at me.”
“What if I never get better?”
“Why wont they wake up?”
“You said they’d come home. Where are they?”
“I used to think I didn’t deserve love. Now I know that it’s true.”
“We found you crying. What happened?”
“Who hurt you?”
“You’re scared…. and broken…”
“I don’t deserve this. I don’t deserve you.”
“What did I do wrong?”
“It’s so cold…”
“Am I going to die?”
“Please answer me.”
“Nothing ever goes right!”
“Why do you have to ruin everything?!”
“Why do you hate me so much?”
“Things will be better this way.”
“I swear to god if you jump-”
“I trusted you.”
“I never thought this would happen.”
“This is all my fault.”
“You’re the worst mistake I’ve ever made!”
“Are you even listening?”
“Why are you always so sad?”
“Why have you been hiding this from us?”
“… Where did all of these scars come from?”
“Were you drinking again?”
“I gave you everything and this is how you repay me?”
“Did I ever even matter to you?”
“Would they even notice if I vanished?”
“What if I end up being forgotten?”
“I don’t know what I’d do without them.”
“I don’t think I can make it.”
“Why are you being so nice to me?!”
“You’re supposed to be yelling at me! And… and hitting me! Why aren’t you doing that?!”
“Please don’t look at me…”
“I never want to see your face again.”
“You’re dead to me.”
“I wish I never met you.”
“Why do you look at me like that?”
“I found those medical papers in your room… Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Are you going to be okay?”
“Stop lying to me!”
“Please, just breathe.”
“Where did you go?”
“I thought you died.”
“Why are you doing this to yourself?”
“I just wanted to help…”
“It hurts so much.”
“Why can’t I stop thinking about you?”
“I can’t feel anything anymore.”
“It never mattered anyway.”
“I’ll just be forgotten.”
“There’s too much going on!”
“I can’t think like this.”
“You will never be good enough.”
“It’s okay. They’re gone now.”
“Why did they have to be so cruel?”
“I hate you!”
“I didn’t mean it… Please forgive me.”
“Get out of my head.”
“Put the pills down.”
“I can’t hear you.”
“My eyes hurt… why can’t I see?”
“Bad dream?”
“My throat feels tight.”
“I-I can’t breathe!”
“Please help me!”
“I think I broke my leg-!”
“Quiet- I can hear it.”
“I want to cut your hand off so I can hold it forever.”
“Nothing could go wrong!”
“Where am I?”
“What did you do to them?!”
“Where are they?”
“Will they be okay?”
“Don’t turn around. It’s behind us.”
“Breathe slowly, show no signs of fear.”
“I think it’s touching me.”
“Hey, who turned out the lights?”
“There’s something in the kitchen.”
“Did you hear that?”
“Please tell me it’s just you down there.”
“If this is a joke it isn’t funny!”
“Where are you? I’m scared.”
“My light wont work.”
“This is all your fault!”
“Wake up!”
“Why aren’t they breathing?”
“Please tell me this is fake.”
“Just shut the hell up.”
“You’re the reason why I’m like this.”
“I thought you loved me.”
“If this is what you think is best…”
“Am I just a toy to you?”
“Nothing ever mattered to me.”
“I am damaged.”
“The weakest must go…”
“I can hear it calling my name.”
“I feel so sick.”
“I’m tired of living in a life where I’ll never be happy.”
“All I can think of are those rainy days.”
“Why can’t things just be the way they always have been?”
“Do you not care anymore?”
“I would rather die.”
“I’m tired of getting wounds that will never heal.”
“Why am I always so tired?”
“Is this what sadness does to people?”
“You mean to say that you’ve never been touched?”
“Please don’t touch me.”
“It feels gross.”
“It burns.”
“Stop! Turn it off!”
“Why are you doing this?!”
“Why can’t I make you happy?”
“I don’t need you anymore.”
“You were never useful to me.”
“Why are you still here?”
“You have a lot of nerve showing up here.”
“Please don’t shoot!”
“When they died, I feel as if I died with them.”
“Life isn’t worth living without you.”
“I need you. Why do you always leave me?”
“I thought I told you to leave.”
“Why is the window open?”
“This was the worst mistake I’ve ever made.”
“I had a dream where I killed you.”
“I had a dream where I killed myself.”
“Why won’t this nightmare end?”
“God must hate me.”
“I think the medicine is starting to kick in.”
“That wasn’t there before.”
“Who are all of these people?”
“I don’t remember who I used to be.”
“I deserve to rot.”
“We all know you hate me. Just admit it.”
“You promised me nothing would happen.”
“The creature is staring at me again.”
“We found you in the snow. What the hell happened?”
“Can you hear me?”
“Why am I always late?”
“This is all my fault.”
“They hate me, don’t they?”
“I just want to look at you.”
“I don’t want to fall asleep. I’m scared.”

My Paladin in Shining Armor
Tumblr media
Pairing: Eddie Munson x Fem!Reader
WC: 1.1k
Summary: After yet another successful gig for Corroded Coffin, shit goes down with the gross bartender while you're packing up the van.
Note: This is my second submission for @nexusnyx 7k sleepover party! We get some fun protective Eddie and the classic hurt/comfort moment. Only warning is the asshole bartender who tries to start shit but Eddie arrives just in time ;) Also this is unedited sorry not sorry!
The prompt I chose is:
The night we broke a lot of things. ["I don't care about any of that. Are you okay?"]
~~~~~~
“Babe, you were incredible tonight,” Eddie said, tucking his hands into the back pockets of your jeans as he pulled you closer. “I swear, no one on this planet plays keys better than my girl.”
“Eddie,” you whined, giggling as he peppered kisses along your neck. “You’re such a flatterer. Besides, I may be good on keys, but no one shreds on guitar like you.”
He pulled away, beaming with pride. “Together? We’re unstoppable.”
With that, the two of you soaked up the silent moment alone on stage, Eddie leaning in for a deep, passionate kiss.
A year ago, when you first auditioned to join Corroded Coffin, you never would have believed that the band’s handsome, kind, stupidly talented guitar player would ever look twice at you.
Looking back, it was clear that your brain was actively shutting out the way his eyes lit up when you walked into the makeshift studio in Gareth’s garage. The way he couldn’t stop smiling when he watched you play. The way he always made an excuse to touch you, either tapping your shoulders, or holding your hand to help you into the van, his leg brushing up against yours when you sat on the couch writing new music.
Even though it took you way too long to get your head out of your ass and realize he felt the same way about you, you would have gone through the months of emotional turmoil again and again if it meant sharing this moment with him.
Getting to play music you loved alongside the man you loved was the gift that kept on giving. It was a total and absolute dream. One that you never wanted to wake up from.
After your regularly scheduled post-show makeout session, you joined the rest of the band in packing up the van. Once it was all set, the other two guys said they were going to hit up the arcade right down the road and left the two of you be.
Meaning you and Eddie could drive straight to his trailer and spend the rest of the night being your gross, in love selves.
Just as you were about to close the doors to the back of the van, a cool gust of wind sent a shiver down your body, and you stepped inside to dig through the band equipment to find your leather jacket.
“Hey babe? Have you seen my jacket?” you called out, lifting Eddie’s guitar case.
“Did you leave it inside the venue?” he suggested, stepping inside to help with the search.
You stood straight. “Possibly. I’ll go check.”
He rested a hand on your arm to stop you. “Absolutely not. M’lady shall stay here and I will retrieve her garment!”
You giggled, scrunching your nose before leaning forward for a chaste kiss. “Thank you, love.”
He stepped out of the van, turning to give you an extravagant bow. “Anything for you, m’lady,” he said, then jogged out of site.
You continued rifling through the shit inside the van, just in case it was underneath something and you might have missed it upon your initial search.
“Can I help you, sweetheart?”
You froze. That voice wasn’t Eddie’s.
“I’m fine,” you said quickly, keeping your eyes on the ground of the vehicle in hopes that it would deter the man outside.
“You sure?” he said, and suddenly you felt a jostle as he stepped inside. You whipped around and came face to face with the gross bartender from the venue. “Happy to help you with anything you need.”
He was close enough now for you to smell the stench of alcohol on his breath and you stepped back. “Really, I’m fine. You can go now.” There was a bite in your tone to hide your fear.
The man scowled. “Gotta say, sweetheart, I really don’t like your tone.” He grabbed your arms and you yelped in pain, pulling back with all the strength you could muster.
Unfortunately, it caused you to trip over the bass drum and you fell backwards, crashing into the band equipment.
“Why so desperate to get away, sweetheart?” the man said, standing over you. “I just want to help-”
You kicked him in the chest with all your might, and the man was thrown backwards out of the band, knocking over more of the gear before falling to the ground.
He groaned in pain, staring at the scrape on his arm before scrambling up to stand. “You little bitch-”
Just as his right foot rested on the floor of the van, you saw a hand on his shoulder before he was whipped around.
Where his cheek was met with Eddie’s fist.
The man was back on the ground, groaning even more.
Eddie grabbed him by the scruff, pulling his head back so that his lips were by the man’s ear.
“If you ever…so much as look at her again, I will shove a drumstick so far up your ass that you won’t be able to walk, and then I’ll run you over with my van. You hear?”
The man yiped in response, and Eddie shoved him forward, causing him to fall back on the ground before getting up and running down the street at full speed.
Eddie paid him no mind, just jumped into the van. His eyes - just moments ago filled with more rage than you thought possible - now filled with concern as his hands ran up your arms to your shoulders, then to your neck, until they gently held either side of your face.
“Are you okay?” he whispered, voice nearly breaking.
Your bottom lip trembled as tears rolled down your face. “I’m okay, but Eddie…” you looked around the van at the equipment. “I think some of our gear is broken. Your guitar...where is your guitar-”
“I don’t care about any of that. Are you okay?” he pleaded, thumbs wiping away the tears.
You started nodding, but the longer his doe eyes stared into yours, the more your resolve crumbled.
A sob escaped you and he immediately wrapped his arms around you.
“It’s okay, baby,” he murmured, running a hand over your hair. “I’m here. You’re okay.” He kissed the crown of your head. “I love you so much. I’m so sorry this happened.”
You shook your head against his chest. “Don’t be sorry. You came just in time. My paladin in shining armor.”
Eddie let out a small chuckle, squeezing you tighter. “I’ll always be here to protect you, m’lady. Even when the fiery gates of Mordor are at our back, I’ll never leave your side.”
“And I’ll never forget my jacket ever again.”
The two of you burst out laughing before becoming mesmerized yet again with another tender kiss.
~~~~~~
Thank you for reading! :)

Welcome to Hellfire!
Eddie Munson x reader
Summary: Eddie teaches the reader a bit about dnd, and helps them make their first character.
Warnings: A ton a fluff, some swear words, maybe soon poorly written descriptions of how DND works (I'm still new to it lol) and I didnt do too much proofreading either haha
Tumblr media
“Eddie do you maybe wanna take a break?” You asked him, seeing that he was clearly getting tired of looking at the flashcards you made for him.
He nodded and stretched, standing from his bed. “Abso-fuckin-lutely. I appreciate your help though, I might actually be able to pass this stupid science exam now.” You smiled and stretched as well. “Yeah no problem. I know you got this.” You looked at your watch. “We could probably get back to it in like 40ish minutes, but for now what do you feel like doing?” You looked back at Eddie and saw he was looking into a notebook he pulled from his desk.
“Well, I do have something I kinda need to get done before tomorrow. I’ve kinda been slacking on it. He said, earning a curious look from you. “oh?”
He smiled and sat next to you at the end of the bed again, giving you the notebook so you could skim through what he had written in there. This page that he had flipped open to had bullet points, each with sime and plans for a story. Wait A story? “Eddie, is this you planning a novel? He gave you a look and took his notebook back. “What? No! These are jusr some plans for what I’m hoping to happen during tomorrow’s Hellfire meeting.”
“Ohhh!” You replied, thinking you were finally understanding what he meant, but you had no idea.“So, you wrote all of that for that game? “
“Yeah! He said, smiling. “And you’re gonna use that story while you play it?” You asked, becoming intrigued in how this stuff works.
“Yeah? A good story is what makes the game fun.” He gave his notebook a little shake. “And I’m quite good at storytelling if I do say so myself.” He smiled and put the notebook back on his desk. He’ll work on the rest of his planning later, for right now he wanted to talk to you.
You nodded in agreement. You only read a bit of what he wrote but you liked the way he worded stuff. “But why do you need a nicely written story for a board game?” You were clueless. Eddie found that adorable, but he also slightly offended that you called dnd a board game. He stood up, crossing his arms. You had a lot to learn. “First of all dnd, is not a board game, but I’m gonna let that slide, cause clearly you are clueless.” You let out a laugh. “Well, I’m sorry! But, please go on. Explain it to me. You said looking up at him. He smiled widely, excited to actually be able to ramble on about one of his interests. “Really? Like you actually wanna know?”
You nodded. “Mmhm. You got me kinda curious about it now.”He clapped his hands together smiling, grabbing his notebook again and quickly sitting by you on the bed.
About 30 minutes passed and you were now more knowledgeable about the members of Hellfire, all their characters, Eddie’s role as the DM, the quests that Hellfire went on, the quests they will be going on next session, and the challenges Eddie has planned. He even went on about ‘Lady Applejack’s legendary critical roll’. Oh! And the maps he drew out so he could keep track of his party’s journey. He made sure to show you those. The last thing he did was show you his dice collection. He had SO MANY. And just because he felt like it, he gave you a d20 and let you roll it. Of course you rolled a natural 20.
“Holy Shit! You’re a natural!” He said, excitedly hugging you. He then put his hands on your shoulders, looking at you happily. “ill tell you what, there’s room in our party for one more if you’re interested.”
You looked at him, surprised he would suddenly ask you that. You thought about it for a moment. But with the look on his face, how could you decline. You shrugged and smiled. “Why the hell not?” He gave you a big smile and hugged you again, before running back to his desk and looking through it. “I have some extra character sheets in here somewhere..” he said, making a mess looking for them. He’ll clean that up later. Probably. “Aha! Gotcha!” he turned back to you and smiled, holding up the sheet. You laughed at his dorkiness and he led you both to the kitchen table, so you would have more room to properly do this. You both sat down, but quickly after sitting down Eddie realized he forgot the dice, so he ran back to his room to grab them. He also came back with a book too, setting them both down on the table.
“Do you want anything to eat or drink before we get started?” he offered.
“You got any coke?”
“What kind of coke?” He asked, causing you to laugh. “Eddie!”
He was giggling as he walked to his fridge and he pulled out two cokes, one for you and one for him, bringing them to the table.
“Okay so what you’re gonna wanna do first is pick a race. You can pick one out from here.” He said, passing you the book that was titled Dungeons and Dragons: Expert Rulebook.
“Eddie, buddy, I’m no expert”. Eddie shook his head. “Don’t worry, I’ll help you. You don’t gotta be an expert, this is just the book that Hellfire goes off of.” You nodded as you began looking through it.
Another 30 minutes passed. This time it was filled with you pointing at a race, Eddie explaining it, you asking a shitton of questions about what he was saying, him explaining it even more, and then you moving onto the next race, repeating this process. But once you FINALLY chose your race, Eddie said it was time to choose a class. And then a background. And then name your character and design them. Give them physical traits and personality too. There’s even a spot to draw your character. Then when that’s all done you still got to fill in the 6 spots that said: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. All those spaces had little circles under them too. What the hell did any of that mean? Not only that, but you had to also record your initiative, your speed, your skills, your saving throws, and your proficiency bonus?? You had no clue what any of that meant. It was kinda overwhelming.
You looked at all the blank spots on your sheet and back at Eddie. At least you had him there to help. He was actually very good at explaining things. And the look in his eyes while he was doing so, made you happy too. You were excited to learn from him.
You weren’t even sure how much time passed before you successfully completed your character sheet. However, you did manage to impress Eddie with your dice rolling skills. Again. You managed to get pretty high stats. In fact, Your stats were higher than than Dustin’s when he first started. Eddie was even more excited for you to join Hellfire now. They needed someone with that amount of luck.
He went to grab his notebook again. “Now that you finished making your character, I have this really really really really cool idea of how to add you into the story smoothly..”
You smiled and looked at your watch as he flipped through his notebook. The break you guys took from studying has gone way over ‘40ish minutes’. Oh well, the exam isn’t till Friday and you’ll have time to study between school and the Hellfire meeting tomorrow.

So like I got two fic ideas running through my little brain:
1. Eddie giving the reader a super basic intro to dnd and how to make their first character. (Im super duper new to dnd, and I've only started playing with the Icespire Peak kit so I might kinda base it off that and whatever else I know lol) but it would probably be a pretty long fic if I write it the way I'm thinking, but it would be cute and nerdy.
2. Eddie takes the reader to a concert for a band he likes. (Im still thinking of a band, but it would obviously be a 80s metal band, I'll take band suggestions tho) but like for some reason he has an extra ticket, so why not get his best friend (and future partner 👀) to go with him? Rock concerts are a great place to confess your feelings to someone right?
Idk, like I said these were just some ideas I thought up. If y'all are interested, I'll be more than happy to write them out. (I'll probably write them even if no one is interested haha)

Can I request a space mark x reader where the reader has forgiven mark for everything, but there’s still like some part of them that is afraid of him? And it’s something that they HATE. Whenever they flinch at the sound of mark’s voice behind them and they recall the sting of a fire extinguisher to the back of the head, they get so ANGRY at themselves, because it’s all over and done with and they don’t WANT to be this way. They don’t want to be wary around mark. But it’s like their subconscious just can’t seem to help it. And mark’s eyes are always so haunted and remorseful whenever he looks at them, because of course he notices it. And everything is sad and angsty and somehow it all comes to a head, maybe by mark seeing a scar on the Captain’s hand from when he ripped at the warp crystal, and is resolved in tearful apologies and confessions?
Must certainly you can!! Sorry this is so late
The Captain hated everything and anything. Sure, everything was fine and the time wraps and wormholes were fixed. But that didn’t mean the emotional scars were too.
Once they found out about it all, they didn’t expect Mark to be the cause of it all. He was their friend, their partner… their head engineer. So the betrayal is what hit home the hardest. And still… even with it, they couldn’t stand to not forgive him.
They loved Mark and they knew once he realized it was his fault, he regretted it.
But even then… the Captain couldn’t help but think about it still. And apparently their feelings turned into something worse.
They couldn’t do anything without jumping at the sound of footsteps behind them or even the sound of Mark. Sometimes even being near Mark was hard. And they knew why. And that was the problem.
They knew Mark didn’t mean any of it. He was blinded by anger and false hope. Yet the Captain could still hear how angry Mark’s voice was when he yelled at them. And it hurt. It hurt a lot.
The Captain wished they could do something about it. Anything! But what can you do other than hide it to not hurt the other’s feelings.
However, what they didn’t account for was that Mark noticed how jumpy and scared they seemed around him. Whenever he would come up behind them or even try to touch them they’d flinch away. He didn’t know why. And he wanted to. He wanted to help them with whatever was happening.
He cared about them. And he hated to see them get so scared from him.
Mark then started to walk up to the Captain. Taking a deep breath in and starting to greet them before they whipped around and grabbed his wrist as he was going to tap their shoulder.
The Captain looked at him with fear in their eyes but quickly tried to erase it once they saw it was Mark. But he already saw it.
“Captain… are you okay?” He asked. A plain and simple question but it held more meaning depending on who you asked.
“Yeah I’m fine… why do you ask?” They brushed it off. Hoping Mark wouldn’t pry further.
“Well you get so scared and paranoid whenever I come over to you. I can barely even walk with you without you making an excuse to leave… also you’re holding my wrist pretty tightly.” Mark explained. Gesturing down at their hands and the Captain quickly let go.
“Sorry.. and I uh.. don’t know what you mean… I’m fine.” They insisted.
“No you’re not. If you let me help you I’m sure we can-“
“No. I’m fine.”
“You’re not fine! I can tell you’re hurting so please just let me help you!” Mark spoke. His eyes pleasing and he cautiously took a set forward but the Captain only took a step back. “Captain, please. I want to know what’s wrong.”
The Captain’s breathing picked up but they kept eye contact with Mark. They wanted to run away. To leave this conversation. But they couldn’t. “Mark-“
“Bullshit! You are not fine and I don’t want you to keep telling me you are! You’re practically trembling from me being here! I don’t understand!” Mark’s voice picked up in volume and they immediately flinched and tried to shrink down.
They were almost crouching down and tears were rolling down their cheeks.
Then, Mark stopped for a moment. Narrowing his eyes slightly and studying them before realizing hit him. It was him. He was the problem. The cause of the Captain’s paranoia. “Oh my god…” Guilt was flooding trough him like a river and tears were filling his eyes.
“Captain… I had no idea. I’m so… so sorry. I’m sorry for everything I’ve caused you.” Mark spoke, his voice softer now. And he crouched down to their level. “I know words can’t express how much I hurt you and how sorry I am… and I don’t even deserve your forgiveness.” Tears we’re now coming from his eyes. He looked at the ground. Not daring to look at the Captain anymore.
“M-Mark it’s okay…” The Captain choked out.
“It’s okay though. None of it is okay… I promised myself I would never hurt you and yet I did… I’ve betrayed you and myself. I’m sorry..” Mark apologized again. “I just… I don’t know. You don’t deserve to have someone like me around you.”
“What? Mark no-“
“Captain, I’m right. If I hurt you then clearly I’m not safe to be around.”
“That’s not true, Mark! I love being around you. I just… I’m not in a good mental state from everything that happened. And you aren’t either.. but I know that I like being with you.” The Captain spoke. Trying to get Mark to look at them.
When he did, he saw a small smile on their face. “You like being around me?” He asked.
“Yeah… I always have.”
Mark then smiled. “Good. Because I like being around you too…” his voice trailed for a moment and he paused. Before opening his mouth again. “And we’ll get through this together. No matter how long it takes.” Cautiously and with permission, he held the Captain’s hand and gently squeezed it for reassurance.
They both knew recovery would take a bit, but at least they had each other.

Space Mark where he breaks down about the Captain having a scar on their hand from where he ripped the crystal and getting a concussion from when he hit their head with the canister
"Woah. Sick scar, cap. Where’d you get that from?”
Mark felt himself breaking out into a cold sweat upon seeing the large scar etched into your palm. You had taken your glove off as the material was itching it, but even you were surprised at how big the scar turned out to be.
And how it left the imprint of the warp crystal.
Not realizing how clammy he looked, you just told Gunther, Burt, and Celci a made-up story of where you got it from, throwing out whatever bizarre details your beautiful brain could cook up in that moment. While the group of leads gasped and sat in awe at the tale, only one remained completely silent.
The only one who knew the truth, because he was the cause.
Memories of what he did at the warp core came back to haunt him once again, as he remembers how cold and cruel he was to you. He ripped the crystal out of your hand with a pair of pliers like it was nothing, assuming it was just on your glove.
How did he miss your winces of agony and shock?
How did he miss the blood that dropped on the floor?
How did he..not realize how much pain he caused you?
As if that wasn’t already a bad reminder, you suddenly lost focus on where you were in the story, looking dazed as you held your head and shut your eyes for a moment, rubbing a particular spot on your temple.
The spot where he struck you with the canister upon entering the warp core.
It left yet another crack in your helmet, sending you tumbling to the ground and rattling your skull. So even with that protection, it still managed to give you a-
“That concussion still not going away, cap?” Celci slid an ice pack over to you. “You’ve had it for a few days, haven’t you?”
“Yeah..thank you, CC. I..just wish I could remember where I left off.” You muttered as you held it against your head. “Ironic how a helmet’s supposed to prevent this. Guess I’ve taken quite a beating on this trip.”
Burt comforted you with something poetic about how “difficult journeys often yield the greatest rewards”, though Mark tuned that out, sitting there in numbing realization and guilt:
He gave you a goddamn concussion. He affected your ability to lead, make decisions, and hold simple conversations.
He nearly compromised your very duty as Captain.
And for what? Because he thought you were some monster who wanted to end all of existence?
No..he was the monster all along. The one who punished you for his wrongdoings.
What was a monster like him doing at this table?
“Hey, asshat.” Celci spoke up, nudging Mark’s arm in a playful way. He flinched and looked at her. “Some little birdie told me you and Cap are finally together. How did you manage that?”
“Yeah, what’s that about?” Gunther huffed as he leaned his elbows on the table. “You’ve been quiet.”
“Indeed,” Burt nodded. “We don’t mean to pry, but we can’t help but be curious. How has your love unfolded-?”
“E-Everyone...I...” Mark looked to you for a brief moment, his eyes flickering to the scar, before he abruptly got up. “I’ll tell you later....I..gotta take a walk.” Then he left the table without another word. He felt his throat tightening up, eyes burning with tears.
He couldn’t face anyone like this.
Especially not you.
Concerned, you set down the ice pack and followed him, leaving your other three crewmembers confused.
..........
On the ground of the new planet, you arrived at your home. Knowing how often Mark visited, you only expected him to be here. A man like him was easy to predict...to a degree.
“Mark?” You called out as you entered through the automatic doors, wondering where he could possibly be. It wasn’t too big of a house, so it shouldn’t take long to find him.
However, you heard the sounds of sniffles and light sobbing coming from your bedroom. Your heart melted as you knew exactly what he was upset about, but you didn’t know it was taking this kind of toll on him.
Pushing the door open, you saw your lover curled up on the bed, face buried in his knees and his hands in his hair, crying his heart out. He assumed he was all alone until he felt the mattress shift weight, and he looked up to see you now sitting beside him.
“Mark, honey..”
With red, puffy eyes trailing to your scarred palm, he whimpered as he slowly reached a hand out. Then he paused, his eyes flickering back to yours as a silent request for permission.
You nodded and allowed him to take your hand, breaths still shaky as he lightly rubbed his thumb over the tissue, tears freely falling.
He regrets all of it.
The way he attacked you and screamed at you...god, he wanted to take it all back. He wouldn’t care if you did the same to him as payback. It would be much deserved after the hell he put you and everyone through.
Especially you, now that you have a permanent reminder of that.
Who does this to someone they love? Who fought across timelines to find him?
He pressed a kiss against your palm, only to shudder with sobs as he felt a thumb stroking his beard. Bringing your hand to the side of his face, you gently lifted his head up to meet your gaze. He looked so broken. “C-Cap..I..”
Yet all he could do was collapse against you and sob into your shoulder as you brought him into a hug. He tried closing the distance between you two as much as possible. His chest trembled, struggling not to hyperventilate at the crushing reality of what he did to you.
"O-Oh god, I didn’t m-mean...I...god, what have I done..!!”
“Mark, breathe..just breathe.” You ran a hand through his black hair, hushing him and rocking him slightly. “I know you didn’t mean to. You were angry. There were misunderstandings. It’s alright now. I’m gonna be okay. This scar will go away..and my concussion will, too."
“How can..y-you be okay with me making mistake..a-after mistake..after goddamn mistake?! You..should’ve told them what happened.”
“Why would I ever wanna do that?”
“..th-they already hate me. Might as well give them something else to hate..l-like how I attacked their captain.”
“Wha..Mark.” You pulled away slightly with a frown, tucking a fringe of his hair behind his ear. “Nobody hates you-”
“Bullshit. You heard e-everything they said! I’m stupid, incompetent, a-annoying...hell, every alien we met called me ugly, remember?” He forced out a laugh, sniffling as he bowed his head. “I-I’m just as ugly inside as I am outside-”
“Stop it.” You cupped his face with both of your hands, making him look at you. “You’re not ugly or stupid. Not to me.” Gently, you thumbed away the tears that slipped down his cheeks.
“But I-I was stupid enough to give you that scar and hit you with an extinguisher..”
“We all make dumb decisions from time to time.”
"Those..w-were the worst ones I ever made. I thought..y-you’d hate me after seeing that scar. The face you made when you saw it, and the way you looked at me after that...I-I just...I thought...”
“I was shocked, yes. But I’m not angry about it.”
“You’re not? Not even a little?” His eyebrows slightly furrowed with confusion. “B-But..it’ll remind you of how much I hurt you-”
“That’s not how I wanna remember it. If anything..I want it to remind me of how much I love you. Of how many timelines I went through just to find you..and how we fixed this together.” You softly smiled. “You’re a good man, Mark. And I love you so, so much. I don’t want you to ever doubt that, okay? Mistakes can be made, be it one or a million. I don’t care. No amount of them can ever make me hate you.”
The engineer’s shaky breaths slowly calmed down as he smiled in return, putting a hand over your own. No words could express how grateful he was to have you in his life. To have someone who never gave up on him even after you were blamed for all of his mistakes.
“Th-Thank you, ca--[y/n]...god, I love you, too.”
You nodded, pulling him into a tender kiss, feeling the salt from his tears. But at least they stopped falling at last. It broke your heart to see him retreat here just to cry alone, fearing that he ruined things between you both.
Yet nothing was ruined. Not one bit. If anything, this made your bond the strongest it’s ever been.
After sharing the kiss, both of you were breathless but happy. Smiles remained on your faces as you kicked off the boots, laying down on the bed and holding one another closely. Mark sighed as he nuzzled your chest, exhausted from his emotional meltdown yet relieved to still be in your arms.
He couldn’t imagine being anywhere else in the universe but here.

First day on parole!
Yancy x reader (gender neutral)
Warnings: none
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Todays the day. He was finally getting parole. And even though you were waiting in your car to pick him up for parole you couldn't help but hum the song that was about him not wanting to make parole. It was a catchy song though that's for sure though. You were told earlier by the prison guards to park your car in the lower parking lot next to the release area and that's what you did.
'He should be coming out any minute now' you thought to yourself. You've been waiting there for what? 15 minutes now? You didn't mind waiting for him of course, you were just really excited to see him again.
Another 10 minutes passed and you saw him being escorted outside, with a guard following him close behind. You saw a pile of cards and notes in Yancy`s hand. He kept every single one you gave him. Well, you kept all the gifts he gave you too of course.
Once you saw him and that guard getting closer you got out of your car and started walking towards him to hug him. As soon as he saw you, Yancy basically sprinted towards you and gave you the biggest hug he's ever given anyone.
"Oh I've missed youse!" he said tightening his grip, scared that if he lets go he'll never see you again.
You peaked over his shoulder and saw the guard happily walking away. The guards loved Yancy and they were happy to see him this happy.
Yancy released you from his crazy tight hug suddenly and put his hands on your shoulders. "I've got so much to tell you and the rest of the gang misses youse too, y'know."You smiled as he said that, excited to hear whatever prison stories he has. He looked towards your car "but uh, let's get outta here first"
----------------------------------------------------------
"THIS IS WHERE YOUSE LIVES?" Yancy said very loudly as he walked into your home. It wasn't anything too fancy but Yancy was impressed by it nonetheless.
You giggled at him as he started looking around at all the decorations you had around your living room. As he was doing so, your cat came running out to greet him. Yancy looked down and immediately starting petting it.
"Aww I didn't know you were one of them cat lover types." You shrugged and smiled joining Yancy in petting your cat. "Well, I kinda had to be after this one followed me home while I went a walk. Now he goes on every walk with me." You said scratching your cat's ears.
"Well, what did you name him?" Yancy asked you, still petting the now purring cat.
"Illinois. A fitting name for a little adventurer like him". You told him.
"Huh. Okay." Yancy didn't understand how you pulled the name Illinois from an adventurous cat, but he wasn't gonna question it. He watched as your cat walked over to the couch and laid on it.
"I'm guessing that's where I'll be sleeping for now?" He asked you, hoping you'd let him crash there cause he had literally no where else to go.
"What? No, Yancy I'm not gonna let you sleep on my couch." He looked hurt for a moment so you quickly continued. "I mean I have somewhere more comfy and with less cat hair that you can stay."
"You do? Where?"
"Follow me"
You led him to the extra bedroom in your small house. The room was now decorated with stuff Yancy would like: a desk to write songs and such at, a couple microphones, and even some cool led lights, and a disco ball. Perfect for making musical numbers. Yancy was looking around the room in awe. He's never had anyone do anything this nice for him.
"This used to be my old roommates room till they moved out., But its yours now I suppose." You told him as he started playing around with the lights. But he turned them off and looked towards you again. "You did this for me?" He then hugged you again, muttering something about how he doesn't deserve someone as kind and thoughtful as you. You told him to shut up and he did, accepting the love you were giving him.
Being your roommate was gonna be fun. Yancy had so many plans with you already too. He couldn't wait to write songs with you and dance with you and hopefully not get sent to prison again because he had to admit, being free wasn't all that bad, especially with you.
Wrote a fic based off the ISWM ending.
Spoilers ahead.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I SPENT AN ETERNITY IN HELL REBUILDING THIS STUPID MACHINE AND YOU THREW IT ALL AWAY!” Mark shouted angrily.
Didn’t he realize that destroying the warp core was for the best? Or Did he not have no faith in his beloved captain anymore?
“I don’t know if you’re evil or stupid, but if I’m not back there to fix it..”
You watched Mark look back at the machine that he sacrificed so much effort and time to fix. His expression becoming more confused.
“..if I’m not back there…”
The more Mark looked towards the machine and saw that you were still there with him and that the universe wasn’t going kablooey, you realized that maybe, just maybe holding on to him was the right choice. Maybe, just maybe, there is an end to all of this.
“If I’m not back then, the warp core is not back…”
He walked closer to the buttons that controlled that machine. How many times has he pressed all of these buttons and prayed that something -anything- would fix things. He lost count.
“I thought– I thought–” His face went from confusion to sadness and regret.
“I thought I rebuilt it cause you destroyed it.”
Both of you were slowly beginning to realize that Mark was the real reason why everything went to shit and it hurt.
“Unless……I built the warp core? I sent it back?”
He couldn’t believe he was the cause of all of this.
“I built it” He let out a painful laugh. “I built it.”
He didn’t want to believe that this was all his fault. This was a joke right? It’s not like he did this on purpose. He didn’t know what would happen. How much pain and destruction he would cause.
But no matter how much he didn’t want to believe it, he had to. What is done, is done and he had to accept it.
“It was all my fault.”
The realization that Mark was behind everything was overwhelming to you both. This was just as much as a shock to you as it was to him and you tried your best to process this.
He was why everything happened? He was all those lives were lost. It was all his fault but you got the blame for it!
You should be furious at him. Wouldn’t that be how most people would feel at a time like this?
But you just couldn’t. You couldn’t be angry. Especially not at Mark. Not right now anyways . You couldn’t feel much right now. You were tired. So very very tired.
But, as you saw Mark now sitting there next to you, with a defeated expression that matched your own, you knew you had to try. You couldn’t give up on him right there. You placed your hand on his shoulder and gave it a slight squeeze.
“I’m–Captain, I’m tired.”
You gave his shoulder another squeeze, speaking for the first time since you made that choice to hold on to him.
“I know. We’ve both been through hell.” He closed his eyes momentarily trying not to completely lose any composure he had left.
“I don’t know when the last time I slept was…I don’t know if I’ve even slept at all.”
You nodded in understanding. Mark looked beyond exhausted. Hell, you did too and Mark must have noticed this because he asked “Have you?” You shook you head.
Mark knew that your exhaustion was his fault. This whole time you were trying to fix a problem that he unknowingly caused. You did everything in your power to find a solution. Literally everything. You went back and forth countless amount of times and yet you found nothing but more death and despair. And all of that was blamed you because you were the Captain. You saw your own crew give up on you. You saw everyone lose faith in you. Even Mark. He was certain this was all your fault. But he was wrong. So very wrong. And that pained him more than anything.
You were always there for him and he had the audacity to blame you for this. The guilt he felt could be measured. He had to make it up to you, or at least try.
“I’m really sorry, Captain”
He knew he owed you an apology and an explanation. It was the least he could do.
“I thought the only way to stop this, was to stop you, stop all this from happening in the first place.”
He held back his tears and continued on. Restating the sad truth that was discovered earlier.
“But it was me.” He said as he let out another shaky breath.
“It was me. All those mistakes. All those lifetimes. All the people..”
Images of all the different lifetimes you lived through flashed through you mind. It was…alot.
“..I guess I lost hope…” Mark said, continuing once more. He had this immense pain in his eyes that you felt as well. You both were so tired.
“…But you didn’t”. He smiled genuinely at you as he said this.
The moment you decided to hold onto him and not let him go was the moment he realized that you are the best captain that could have been on The Invincible II.
“You never did.”
You both felt rumbling. You weren’t sure why exactly. Maybe cause this was all finally over?
You hoped so.

Software Update Complete.
Initializing Wakey Wakey Protocol
Current ship status is: Nominal
You did it. You actually did it.
No more deaths. No more huge universe shattering mistakes. No more wormholes.
You couldn’t believe it.
Your crew was okay? And they were proud of you? All the colonists made it safely too?
You walked closer to the window and looked at the planet your crew we’re going to be habiting in awe.
After everything that you went through, seeing everything going this smoothly felt off. You heard Mark saying something about the crew being excited to get to ground but you couldn’t focus entirely on what he was saying.
It was over. It was all over. Things were going to finally be okay.
“And thank you” Mark said, snapping you out of your thoughts.
“for uh… not giving up on me” You looked back at him, returning a smile.
“Of course. I mean, I think I would make a pretty terrible Captain if I gave up on my favorite cremate.” You told him honestly.
He smiled again and nodded at you. “Thank you”.

I hate you because I love you.
Pairing: Loki x reader
Summary: Loki can't confess his feelings so he pushes you away, until he can't anymore.
Warnings: tiny bit of angst but ends in fluff,some arguing, and abfew curse words
(It's also kinda long lol)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ragnarok. The destruction of Asgard. That is why Loki was now in the tower with the rest of Avengers. But Loki kept to himself. Locked himself away most days, unless he had to go on a mission. No matter how much he kept to himself, he still proved himself to be useful on these missions though. His magic and his ability to know and be able to trick and manipulate enemies came in handy.
And you were quite the Avenger yourself. You held your own. You made your team proud. You also connected with Loki more than any other Avenger. You were able to get him to have conversations with you when no one else could. You were able to convince him to listen to Tony's 'absurd' plans to take down enemies. You both spent plenty of time reading together late at night when the tower was quiet too.
Perhaps all that time together was the reason you fell for him and he fell for you. Loki was furious about his feelings. He felt weak. Vulnerable. You made him feel things he was scared to feel. He believes that love could either be beautiful or deadly. Or even both. Much like a dagger. He did not want to be at the wrong end of this dagger so in an effort to not get hurt by this dagger, he pushed you away. Any conversations with you were quickly dismissed with rude comments. Any time you tried to convince him to work with the team, he wouldn't listen to you. There was also no more reading peacefully together in the library. He avoided you.
You were hurt. Why wouldn't you be? But you had to be strong. Or at least make people think you were strong. You were an avenger after all. So, you treated Loki the same way he treated you. You no longer showed him the same kindness you once did. You no longer tried to convince him to go on missions. If someone else did, great. If not, he'd stay at home. Alone.
Alone.
Much like how he is now, except this time you're at the tower with him, recovering. Last mission didn't go as smoothly as everyone planned and a bullet graised your side. That was about a two days ago, so you're doing better but still not better enough to be going on missions. But you are doing well enough to head downstairs and get some breakfast. Your wound wasn't gonna stop you from getting some coffee and cereal.
Even if Loki was sitting at the table, reading.
Upon seeing him, you spoke. "This isn't your usual reading spot." He jumped slightly, not expecting anyone to disrupt his reading. He thought he was alone.. He looked at you and put his book down.
"What are you still doing here? Everyone else left already."
You gave him a look. Didn't he hear what happened?
You sighed. "I can't go on missions for a bit." You told him honestly, surprised he didn't know.
"Well why not?" He quickly responded with a hint of irritation in his voice. You lifted up your shirt a bit to show him your side, still covered in bandages.
There was a flash of concern that appeared on his face, but it was quickly gone.
"I see." He responded simply as he went back to reading.
You just sighed and continued grabbing your breakfast. Once you got it ready you sat across from him.
You caught him glancing at you a couple times. Just like he caught you glancing at him from your phone. Something was clearly bothering him and something was clearly bothering you. After a couple minutes of you eating and him reading in this awkward quietness, you spoke up.
"You should have been there "
He looked at you. "What?"
"The mission. It would've gone better if you were there." You told him truthfully.
"Ah. Well. Nobody offered for me to join them this time." He said looking back down at his book.
"Hm. Maybe that's cause you wouldn't have gone anyways. You didn't go the last what? seven missions? Even though we all tried getting you to go. Especially me." You told him taking another sip of coffee now that you finished your cereal.
He simply shrugged and continued to pretend he was super interested in the book he was reading. "What has been your problem lately, Loki?" You asked, raising your voice slightly cause you were tired of him not caring.
He put his book down and looked at you. He actually looked angry? You didn't understand why he would be angry.
"You".
"Me? What the hell did I do?" You asked. You couldn't think why you would be the cause for his change in behavior. You didn't fo nothing to him that he didn't deserve. He
began to talk, standing up. "You want a list?"
You shrugged, playing along with whatever he was doing. "Go ahead."
He put on a smile and began pacing while talking. Something you noticed he did when he had alot on his mind. "You're annoying. You talk so much. Way too much. You never shu-
"Either do you. You love to hear yourself talk." You said looking at your now empty bowl of cereal, thinking to yourself. You knew he wasn't being serious right now. But why? Why was he acting like this? You couldn't figure it out.
"Don't interrupt me." He said as he continued. "You never shut up. You always try to get me to talk to you even though I clearly have no desire to."
"Bullshit. That's bullshit! You said quickly getting up and making eye contact with him finally. You were getting upset now. Loki wasn't making any sense.
"I beg your pardon?"
You sighed and looked at him, not wanting to argue with him this early in the morning.
"Loki why are you doing this?" You asked sincerely.
He faked laughed. "Listing reasons why I hate you? Because you said you wanted to hear it."
Aook of hurt crossed you face for a moment. "You hate me?" You asked looking at him. He looked back at you not saying anything. After a couple seconds of not getting a response you simply nodded and put on a smile, looking down.
"Makes sense. I should've known there was no way someone like you was capable of liking anyone. Especially not people that try to help you."
"Help me?" He laughed. "You've done nothing to help me." He said lying. His lie was convincing enough though and angered you.
You looked at him and his stupid smug expression. "Oh yeah? I was there for you when nobody, not even your own brother, wanted to be. I was a friend."
"I don't want to be friends anymore Y/N. Don't you get that?" He spat taking a step towards you.
You were hurt, but you've grown good at hiding your emotions. Much like Loki was. However this time you couldn't and you were on the verge of tears.
"Fine by me, asshole. I should've known better than to get close to you. Maybe if I didn't I wouldn't have fallen in love with you and got my heart broken." You didn't mean to say that last part. It just slipped out. You realized what you said and tensed up before storming off, letting a few tears slip.
You didn't get very far before you felt yourself being turned around and pushed against a wall. You saw Loki for a moment before he crashed his lips against yours.
You were shocked but returned the kiss. You didn't kiss him for very long though because you came to your senses and pushed him away. You weren't gonna let him toy with you like that.
"What the hell, Loki?"
He grabbed your hands. "I hate you because I love you." He rubbed his thumb over your knuckles and looking into your eyes. "Love is a beautiful and scary thing. I'm terrified of being hurt by you and I'm terrified of hurting you too. I fear I already have though. I'm sorry y/n"
You looked into his eyes for a bit, trying to figure if he was being truthful or not. You had a feeling he was. But the thought that he wasn't plagued your mind.
"Do you actually mean that?"
He looked at you in disbelief. Did you really not believe him?
"Of course I do, you fool." He then raised your hand to his mouth and gently kissed the top of it. "I love you."
It was your turn to kiss him now, and as you did Loki accidentally rested his hand on your injured side.
You pulled back a bit and Loki immediately apologized after he realized what he did.
"It's okay. It just still hurts to touch."
He nodded and grabbed the end of your shirt. "May I?"
You nodded as he gently lifted up your shirt and watched as he hovered his hand above your injury.
And just like that any pain that you felt was gone. The wound was fully healed.
You looked back up at him smiling back at you. It wasn't like those fake smiles he put on earlier. No, this was a genuine smile. You smiled back at him and kissed him again.
