Due to popular demand here's a tutorial for how I do my hyperfixation tracking/analysis charts! See my 2023 example here
Firstly, you gotta track the data. I found that creating new "tasks" in Google Calendar was a great way to do it. You can mark multiple at a time and even add comments to track more specific information. I'm only tracking hyperfixes present/day but you could theoretically tack a lot of things, like intensity or time of day. For example, this is what my April 2023 looks like:
When you've collected enough data you can throw it in a graphing program. I'm not smart with spreadsheet formulas so I use Chartle!
For the line graph (days of hyperfixation/month) I added up how many days the hyperfix was present for each month and stuck it in (ex. Pokemon had 14 for January, 26 for Feb...) The pie chart was adding up days total/hyperfix and throwing it into the program, it automatically ratios it to compare how prominent each hf was in ratio to one another. When you're done it displays like this!
I've been using this method to track my hyperfixations for over 2 years now and it's been pretty seamless, def recommend especially if you're a data gathering fiend like I am >: )
