Amias Chapter 4
Author’s note: I wrote a book called Dracas and there are some stories I want to tell but I can’t fit in the main series. I decided to write side stories, some lengthy  and some short. Now I made sure YOU DO NOT need to read Dracas to understand these stories. They’re self contained and not part of the main plot. Keep in mind that I write these on the side and for fun so the quality may not be on par as my normal work. I still strive for these stories to be enjoyable and I hope you get invested in the characters.

Forgive me Master, I know its late but I-
“I told you not to call me that,” Darrien says as he lays down in his freshly clean bed, “and I feel I know what you are going to ask me. Its about my wife is it not?”
I hesitate to call her your wife, Darrien.
“I agree.” Darrien says as he rolls over on his side. “To be honest, I don't even know what I saw in her. Well, that's a lie, I know exactly what I saw.” He admits with a long winded sigh. “I'm such a pig.”
Darrien?
“We met when I was about sixteen. She was a rich daughter and is a beautiful woman. I figured, in my youthful stupidity, she has nice tits and money. Why not ask her out on a date.” Darrien says as he rolls back on his back to shake his head. “I'm so stupid.”
So you married her for her looks and money?
“I thought I loved her!” Darrien says angrily, clenching a fist before slamming on the bed. “But yes, that was really the only reason. At first she was kind, even liked the attention I showed her. Though, looking back, I realize just how manipulative she was. How I constantly played into her hands.”
Darrien, you were young. Young men tend to be foolish, its not your fault.
“It is when you can't divorce her. It is when you forgive her time and time again for every wrong she has done. It is when you stop seeing your friends and family because she orders you to stop seeing them.” Darrien lists off as he presses his hands to face, letting out a long groan of frustration.
Why can't you divorce her?
“Everything is in her name.” Darrien answers. Anger hanging heavy on his words. “If I leave her I lose the clinic, the house, basically everything.”
Of course, what better way to control someone than through their bank account.
“Why do you think she demands my pay? She still has a mountain of money from her father after he threw her out of the family.” Darrien says with a sigh. “She doesn't want me to have any damn freedom.”
But why?
“I don't know, things went downhill fast after her father wrote her out of the family.” Darrien says with a chuckle. “Honestly should have divorced her then but I'm an idiot and ended up sleeping with an unfaithful wife.”
More like a kind man being used.
“Kindness and stupidity are two different things. And sadly I think I have more stupidity.” Darrien grunts. “Look, I shouldn't be airing my dirty laundry to you. I know you are trying to help but-”
“Let me help.” Amias says as he appears at the foot of Darrien's bed. “I can tell that you want out of this marriage and I can probably do something.”
Darrien chuckles. “You act as though I haven't already thought of something.” Amias raises a brow but a door swinging open catches their attention. “She's not supposed to be home, quick disappear!” Darrien orders with a whisper, rolling on his side away from the door to act asleep. Amias disappears and shortly after the door opens, Elizabeth walking inside.
“Darrien!” Elizabeth shouts, Darrien acting he just woke up to look over to her. “Did you cook?”
“Yeah, why?” Darrien answers, recalling Amias cooked for him earlier.
“You don't cook.” Elizabeth says as she crosses her arms. “Who did you bring over?”
“No one!” Darrien denies as he sits up to look at Elizabeth. “I was hungry so I made myself dinner.”
“Bullcrap.” She replies as she stomps over, towering over her husband. “What is the tramp's name, Darrien? Is it Kara?”
“I told you I didn-” A slap across Darrien's face cuts him short.
“If you are not going to tell me, then I'll just have to find out who.” Elizabeth growls as she walks over to her bed. “Why did you invite them? Am I not good enough for you anymore? Do you not care about your own wife? Do you know how lucky you are to have one as beautiful as I?”
Being stuck up isn't beautiful, nor is spreading your legs for any man who looks at you.
“Amias, shut up.” Darrien says internally, fearing that he may give an odd reaction in front of his wife.
“What, are you just horny?” Elizabeth shouts at Darrien who snaps out of his internal conversation. “Ugh, if it will stop you from flirting with this other person I'll do the deed.” She says with obvious disgust in her voice.
“No, I didn't have anyone over! And I'm tired, I don't want to do anything.”
“Excuse me?” Elizabeth says calmly with a thick layer of anger in her voice. “Are you saying I'm not good enough for you?”
“No, I-”
“Oh by Amaya, this is not a fling is it?” Elizabeth growls as she looks at Darrien with a cruel look in her eye. “You have feelings for this other woman, don't you?”
“I told you there is no other woman.” Darrien repeats once again, staring his wife down.
“I best hope not, Darrien.” She says as she leans forward, her face uncomfortably close to Darrien's own. “I'd hate to lose you.” She plants a kiss on his cheek.
Author’s aside;
Shorter chapter, but the next one will be longer. I’m currently on Chapter 11 and its odd seeing development characters can have as you write them. Especially Elizabeth.

“Oh Dragons I'm exhausted.” Darrien sighs as he opens the door to his home, haggardly walking towards a chair. He plops down, letting out a long tired sigh as he closes his eyes, trying to relax.
Are you normally that busy?
“No, hence why I feel like I'm dead.” Darrien groans as he rolls his neck.
“Gonna take a rain check on our fun?” Amias asks as he appears behind Darrien. Darrien jumps to look behind him as he feels warms hands on his neck. “Don't worry, just a simple massage to help you relax.”
“You don't have to do that, Amias.” Darrien says as he leans back in his chair.
“I don't,” Amias says as he rubs Darrien's neck regardless, “but I want to. Probably the most physical action we're going to see tonight.” Amias jokes with a chuckle.
Darrien joins with a chuckle of his own. “You might be right. Though we'll see, the night is still young.” Darrien says with a yawn, quickly interrupted by an embarrassing rumble from his empty stomach.
“I forgot you humans need to eat.” Amias giggles as he walks past Darrien. “Do you have any food around the house?”
“I mean, we have some stuff.” Darrien says as he watches Amias wander into his kitchen. “But why are you-”
“Its been a while since I last cooked.” Amias answers as he looks around the various cupboards and drawers of Darrien's home. “I had previous masters who would teach me to how to make various culinary dishes. I want to see if I still have a knack for it.” He explains as he pulls various vegetables from the drawers as well as cooking equipment.
“How many masters have you had?” Darrien asks.
“Oh by the Domains, do not ask me that.” Amias replies shaking his head. “Far too many to count. And some I have purposefully gone out of my way to forget.”
“Oh, I'm sorry.” Darrien apologizes sheepishly.
Amias chuckles. “Do not worry, I am not angry. I have met far more kind masters than cruel. I have even married a couple of them.”
“Wait, what?” Darrien says as he leans forward in disbelief.
Amias turns his head and smiles at Darrien. “A handsome man like me can't stay single forever, right?”
“I mean, yeah, but did you marry humans?”
“Yes,” Amias answers as he goes to the stove and strikes a match, “not all of them simply want to sleep with me. Some wanted a friend. Granted, some of my former spouses started out as, how you say, 'friend with benefits' but eventually we would grow closer.”
“Some?” Darrien asks with a raised brow.
Amias turns around with a smile. “I'm seven hundred and thirty-two years old.” Darrien replies with wide open eyes and a gaped mouth in shock. “Baby face is a curse, aint it?” Amias giggles as he turns back around.
“That's not baby face, that's eternal youth.” Darrien says with a nervous laugh. Though a thought lingers in his mind and realization makes him hesitantly asks, “If you are that old, then-”
“That is one drawback.” Amias says, his once jovial tone turned serious. “Humans, alas, do not live that long. However, while I wish I could be with them forever, I still cherish each spouse dearly. I would never trade those memories for anything.”
“That's unexpected.” Darrien says, Amias stopping to turn to him with a raised brow. “Its just such a stark contrast from the stories about demons. And I can tell you did truly love them. Its tragic but at the same time sweet. Almost fairytale like.”
Amias smiles as he turns back to his cooking. “And because each of my story ends in death does not mean it was tragic. I get to see, in someone I love dearly final moments, look me in the eye and joyously say that I made them happy.” Amias stops take a shuddering breath. “Forgive me, I get emotional whenever I recall memories of them.”
Darrien shakes his head. “Don't be. I kinda hope I can be that to someone someday.”
Amias, wiping his face, turns back to Darrien to say, “A nice man like you will likely have more than one person say that to you.”
The two continue to have small talk for some time, Amias making the occasional joke at Darrien's expense. Eventually the room begins to fill with the smell of a finely cooked meal, Amias getting a plate and bringing it to Darrien. The plate having a baked potato, steamed veggies, and a warm piece of bread.
“Thank you.” Darrien says as he takes the plate.
Amias shakes his head. “I should be thanking you, I quite enjoyed our conversation.”
Darrien giggles. “I honestly didn't think I'd get this comfortable when I first summoned you.”
“I'm kind of glad it did happen.” Amias says as he grabs a chair and pulls it closer to Darrien. “You see, us demons don't really get much enjoyment out of it as much as humans do.”
“Really?” Darrien asks as he takes a bit of his bread.
Amias shakes his head. “Nope, demons such as I rely mostly on emotional connection. Primal lust doesn't do a whole lot for us. Well, for me anyway. There are some who enjoy it but for me if there's no connection it just feels like I'm just...there.”
“That's gotta be awkward.”
“Oh yeah.” Amias says with a sigh. “Especially with the stupid stuff some of you humans say.”
Darrien shudders. “I'd rather not talk about that. Not a fan, to be honest.”
“But a fan of one night stands?” Amias grins with a raised brow.
Darrien stops eating as a look of guilt comes across his face. “No, not really. But its just-” Amias lays a hand on Darrien's shoulder.
“My apologies, I did not mean to hurt you.”
“I mean you are-”
“Being right or not does not change the fact you are a good man. You did not see me as an object of sexual relief that so many have. You asked for my name and if I wanted to sleep with you. And have treated me with kindness since.” Amias says as shame hangs on his face. “And all I've done is make jokes about you and the circumstances in which you have summoned me.”
“That's not true.” Darrien says as he puts his plate aside. “You've tried to comfort me, showed legitimate concern and even cooked for me.” Darrien laughs. “Honestly, You're a better spouse than my actual spouse.”
Amias laughs as his smile returns. “Thank you, Darrien. It is nice to hear that.” The two continue to have casual conversation for some time. Amias asking Darrien general questions about his life and Darrien asking similar questions in turn. As bits of food are left over, Darrien does begin to eye Amias differently.
“Darrien, is something wrong?” Amias asks, noting the occasional curious look Darrien gives.
“Oh! Well,” Darrien looks at Amias in the eyes for a brief second, “just curious.”
“Curious?”
“My mind was wandering to the previous night.” Darrien says as his eyes dart back down to the small bits of food left on his plate. “And how attractive you were.”
“Attractive?” Amias repeats with a giggle.
“Yeah,” Darrien says with a brief, flustered laugh, “I mean, from what I saw, you have a nice body. And you do have a handsome face.” His eyes go back to Amias. “And a cute smile.”
Amias raises a brow. “Are you flirting with me?”
“I-is it that bad?” Darrien says with a fake, joking stutter. Amias gives a giggle with Darrien joining afterwards.
“A little bad, mainly because these loose robes don't show off my body well enough.” He explains as he leans back. “Now, as my master, you could order me to take them off.” Amias says teasingly with a wink.
Darrien gives a nervous smile. “That's true.” He says with obvious excitement in his voice. Amias raises a brow and looks at the bedroom door. Though there is a door next to it, Amias recalls Darrien sleeping in the room he is staring at.
“Want to finish your meal or have dessert early?” Amias asks.
“You are such a flirt.” Darrien says with a giggle.
“And I can feel you like it.” Amias says with a knowing smile. Darrien stares blankly before giving a happy, but embarrassed, smile.
“I think I want dessert now.” Darrien whispers. Amias smiles as he stands and begins walking towards the bedroom. Darrien stands and follows behind him, watching as Amias starts undressing to his top half is exposed. The two walk in the bedroom, Amias noting there are two separate beds to the left of him. Amias fights the urge to sigh as he turns to Darrien to give a wink.
“So, which one?” Amias asks as Darrien grabs at his clothes with a hand. He points to the bed furthest away from the door. Amias walks over and plops down on his back. Darrien rushes over and stand over Amias but something catches his attention. Darrien walks past his bed and sees a bit of fabric poking out of the bottom of the bed. Reaching down he pulls it out and gives a long sigh. Amias closing his eyes and giving an agitated grunt as a palpable feeling of disgust emanates from Darrien.
“Would you like to be alone, Darrien?” Amias asks as he rolls on the bed to look at Darrien.
Darrien nods. “I hope he had fun on my bed.” Darrien sighs as he turns away, the sight of the dirty, tattered, loincloth disgusts him.
Amias grimaces as he gets up from the bed. “Forgive me, but I'm going to clean these sheets for you before I leave.” Amias says as he shakes his head. Muttering insults under his breath aimed at Elizabeth.
Author’s aside: I took some time to really look at the story I was writing. I had an original outline and I scrapped it. This is not a rewrite, but it is interesting how you start writing something and how you drastically change it after you start writing. How you start to get into the characters, their personalities, and how that can influence a story.

You work here, Darrien?
“Yes, but now the question is how are you seeing this?” Darrien asks worriedly as he looks around his clinic.
I can use your senses, Master. Think of it as lesser possession.
“I'd rather not think about you possessing me.” Darrien says with a shudder.
Amias chuckles, fair enough.
Darrien gives a sigh as he walks to the window, grabbing the wooden boards and opening them to let the morning light shine through. Inside his small clinic is a simple bed on the far wall, on the end opposing the door is an old counter with a worn bookshelf behind it. A variety of herbs and vials neatly arranged on each shelf.
Did not expect you to be a doctor.
“Not a doctor, just a healer.” Darrien says as he walks over behind the counter. His hands rest on the counter and a light squeak is heard from the old wood.
And the difference is?
“Doctors do not have magical means in healing their patients. I do.” Darrien explains as he looks beneath his counter. In a basket is a simple white coat that Darrien retrieves and puts on.
Surely using magic means you have more use than a simple doctor.
“Arguably,” Darrien says as he pats down his long coat to get dust off, “but at the same time doctors find actual cures for diseases. I can cure lesser illnesses but something like cancer is beyond my capabilities.”
Even beyond the capabilities of doctors.
Darrien gives a sigh. “True, though I am happy a group of healers and doctors are working with a noble to find a cure.”
Truly? Wh-
Amias is interrupted as the door to the clinic bursts open. A panicked woman carrying a dirty child in her arms comes rushing inside screaming.
“Help my baby!” The woman sobs as she clutches the child closely, the child unresponsive to their mother's actions.
“On the bed, now!” Darrien orders as he rushes to the child's aid, the mother crying as she shakily, but gently, lays her child on the bed. “What happened?” Darrien asks as he reaches for the child's face.
“Sh-she was just playing outside.” The mother sobs, watching fearfully as Darrien examines her daughter. “I was tending to the animals and I turn to see her on the ground.”
Darrien presses a finger to the nape of the young child's throat. A faint pulse is felt though the child is cold, her complexion turning pale. Her red hair even appearing to lose color. Darrien looks down the child's dirty body and notices something at her bare feet. Darrien moves forward a little and sees a stinger detached from an insect on her big toe.
“Nyerms.” Darrien sighs as he rushes towards the shelf and begins to gather herbs, vials, and a mixing bowl. The mother looks at him in anxious confusion as he places the items on the counter and begins mixing them. The small bowl begins to glow a faint blue as Darrien mutters something, his hand glowing a faint yellow as he stirs them.
“Grab her head and tilt it back.” Darrien orders the mother as he races back to the child. The mother does as she is told and Darrien parts the young child's lips and begins to pour the glowing liquid into the child's throat. Once the liquid empties he closes her mouth and starts to gently rub her neck, his fingers glowing faintly. The mother looks on anxiously and lets out a joyous cry as the child begins to cough and spit.
“Oh Mary you-”
“Don't touch her!” Darrien shouts as he raises an arm to stop the mother. “Forgive me but the child needs to rest for a bit.” Darrien explains in a calmer voice as he goes back to the child's foot and pulls the stinger out of her toe. “It would seem your farm has a Nyerm infestation.”
“Nyerms?” The mother says in confused disbelief. “But that shouldn't be, we put down insecticides and had a mage put up wards around our farm.”
“I'd get back in touch with that mage.” Darrien says as he tosses the stinger out of the window. “Odds are he probably made an attractor instead of a barrier.”
The mother lets out a sigh. “I'll worry about that later, I'm just happy my child is ok.” The mother says as she gets down on her knees and watches as color begins to return to her child's face. “How much is the bill?”
“It was a simple procedure, I think twenty gold will suffice.” Darrien answers. The mother reaches for her robe and takes out a handful of coins. As she counts them she places them in Darrien's hand. Darrien walks away to count them and stops to turn back to the mother. “This is thirty.”
“An extra ten as thanks for helping my daughter.” She says, avoiding to look at Darrien.
“Ma'am, that is kind of you, but that is not nec-”
“And you don't have to put that in the books.” The woman says as she returns her gaze to Darrien. “Your wife wouldn't have to know.” Darrien stands silently, staring at the woman for a brief moment as he gives a sad sigh.
“Thank you.” He mutters quietly as he walks back to his counter and places the payment in a drawer. After a few moments the child becomes responsive and, while needing to lean on her mother, walks out of the clinic. Darrien sits on the patient bed and hangs his head, the woman's words still in his mind.
So, how does she know your wife?
“That's not your concern, Amias.” Darrien answers quietly.
My apologies, Darrien.
Darrien shakes his head. “No, I'm sorry. Everyone else knows her so why can't you.” Darrien says as he lets out a deep breath. “My wife is a daughter of a Lord, and as a result quite famous with the townsfolk.”
If she's the daughter of a Lord, why would she need your money?
“Because her father banished her from the family. Called her a disgrace to their name.” Darrien answers. “She was caught in bed with a common man.”
I take it she blames you for her being removed from the family?
“I didn't say it was me.” Darrien answers glumly rubbing his hands as old humiliation comes creeping back to him. “And, sure enough, that wasn't the only man she had been in bed with.” A hand on his shoulder causes him to jump and to look over at Amias sitting next to him.
“My apologies, Darrien. My kind react strongly to emotions, especially when linked to someone.” Amias says as he draws his hand back. “I merely wished to comfort you, nothing more.”
Darrien lets out a surprised chuckle. “Used to seeing you guys treated as pleasure demons, I forget that most of those stories are not the case.”
Amias raises a brow. “You know most of the stories around Incubuses and Succubi are false?”
Darrien nods. “My mother was a powerful sorceress and as a result participated in a variety of exorcisms. She did some summoning to learn more about demons in general. Turns out most religions painted you guys as monsters when, in reality, most of you just want to be left alone. But jerks keep bothering you for selfish reasons.”
“Jerks like you?” Amias points out with a smirk and raised brow.
Darrien flinches but hangs his head guiltily. “Y-yeah. Sorry.”
Amias chuckles. “No need to be sorry, Darrien. You seem like a nice enough man.”
“Thanks, but still doesn't change the fact I summoned you for a perverted reason.” Darrian says with a guilty laugh.
“Which you still haven't done, mind you.” Amias says with a smirk. “Somehow I feel blue balled, and I'm the victim.”
Darrien laughs. “I shouldn't be laughing, I was trying to take advantage of you.”
Amias shrugs. “I was complying and you are hardly the worst person to summon me for an intimate reason. I see it as more prostitution than plain exploitation.”
“With that logic I should've just gone to a whore house.” Darrien says scratching his head. “Though I didn't want Elizabeth to find out.”
“True, easier to hide the fact you are cheating if the other person is in another realm.” Amias' words his Darrien harder than intended.
“Yeah, I was cheating wasn't I?” Darrien admits shamefully.
“Tell me, do you love your wife?” Amias asks cautiously as Darrien looks back at him with wide open eyes. “I am merely curious, the way she treats you and from what I've heard of her she doesn't seem that great.”
Darrien opens his mouth to answer but shakily says, “I...don't want to have this conversation right now.”
“Fair enough.” Amias says as he lets his eyes wander over to the door. “Do you often have to treat children?”
“Yes, though not as severe as that one.” Darrien answers. “A nyerm's venom can leave a victim paralyzed for days if not treated quickly enough. The venom itself is not deadly but going days without food or drink can be life threatening.”
“Thankfully the mother brought her to you.” Amias says as he looks back at Darrien. “I underestimated you when we first met.”
“Oh?”
“I thought you were a foolish young man trying to get lucky. Now I see a smart, caring man.”
“Thank you, though I am still foolish.”
“In a cute way.”
Darrien shudders. “Not sure how I feel about being flirted with a demon.”
“Is being flirted with a guy any better? You are married to a woman.” Amias points out. “Something that I admit I'm a little curious about.”
“I had a friend growing up.” Darrien says as a flustered smile creeps across his face. “While we never got close emotionally we were, well, y'know.”
“You a top or bottom?” Amias asks bluntly with a smile, Darrien's eyes popping out of his head in flustered surprise.
Darrien shudders nervously for a moment but answers, “Depends.”
“Depends on?” Amias' voice trailing off, finding Darrien's shyness kinda cute.
“O-on the guy. I consider myself a top mostly but if the guy has the right build, I mean.” Darrien stops nervously as he gestures randomly, Amias chuckling lightly.
“I get the hint.” Amias says, Darrien giving a sigh of relief. “Now the question is when are we gonna, y'know.” Amias says in a light teasing tone, mimicking Darrien's earlier statement.
“I mean, we could tonight.” Darrien says as he looks at Amias. “My wife is rarely home and she got paid yesterday so she won't be there.”
“Alright then.” Amias says plainly, deep down wanting to ask why Darrien's wife won't be there but refrains from asking. Due to the connection between the two, Amias can feel the humiliation Darrien has about that topic.
Author speaking, I sometimes wonder if I’m writing this story too ‘sexually’. Odd thing to think about as the story never really gets raunchy, I’m about 3/4th of the way through. I guess its just personal anxiety as I want to write a more emotional story involving Amias. Sadly, his ‘nature’ makes that slightly difficult in my eyes. Or rather how that can be interpreted in the eyes of others. Not their fault, I am the one writing it so it is my job to make sure to convey that correctly not theirs.
Regardless, I hope you enjoyed Chapter 2. I am wondering if I should upload another side story I’m writing but that one is depressing. More depressing than having an abusive spouse, if you can believe that. At least this one has a smartass Incubus to give some levity.

Dracas Side Stories: Amias Chapter One
Author’s note: I wrote a book called Dracas and there are some stories I want to tell but I can’t fit in the main series. I decided to write side stories, some lengthy  and some short. Now I made sure YOU DO NOT need to read Dracas to understand these stories. They’re self contained and not part of the main plot. Keep in mind that I write these on the side and for fun so the quality may not be on par as my normal work. I still strive for these stories to be enjoyable and I hope you get invested in the characters.
Now enough about me, lets read about how an incubus ruined a marriage.
Suggested age is 13+; suggestive themes, mild language, and violence. Does contain gay romance.
***
“Wait, you aren't a Succubus!” A frazzled young man shouts as he stares at the male demon before him.
“No, I am not.” The demon replies plainly, staring at the man who summoned him with slight agitation.
“Dammit!” The young man shouts, turning away from the demon as he walks over to a nightstand to his books. “Did I do something wrong?” He questions as he opens a tome and starts flipping through pages.
“Most likely not.” The demon replies, the young man turning with a raised brow. “Most of those books have a lot of misinformation in them. Summoning is usually a gamble no matter how well you do it. Unless you have the blood of the demon in question, obviously.”
The young man lets out a groan as he closes the tome and turns back to the demon. “So, basically, I could've run the risk of summoning a titan here on accident?”
The demon shakes his head. “No, this was specifically targeted towards smaller, humanoid types of demons. Though that does mean you ran the risk of summoning a warrior-type of demon instead a succubus.”
“Then what did I summon!?” The young man cries out.
“An incubus.” The demon replies with a shrug. “At least you were close in your search.”
“Incubus.” The man repeats, muttering to himself as he stares at the demon with interest. The demon is wearing a thick cloak that covers his body save for his head. His skin is purple with pointed ears poking out of his long black hair, swept back and hanging loose. His face is youthful and, if human, rather attractive. Though the young man finds the purple skin rather odd.
“Would you like to dismiss me to try again?” The incubus asks.
“N-no” the young man stutters nervously, “in fact this could still work.” He says as he takes a step forward. He raises a hand, a light yellow glow emanating from it, a yellow circle appearing on the demon's left cheek. The yellow circle being a mark on a demon that bounds them to their summoner. The demon now must obey the whim of their master. “Do you mind if you dis-robe?”
The demon reaches for his cloak and begins to open them. “You summoned me, and you have bound me to you, Master. I have no say in the matter.” The demon answers as he opens the cloak. As he does the cloak drops the floor and the young man turns his head away immediately, embarrassed that the demon lacks any form of clothing underneath.
“Cover up!” The young man shouts as he tries to cover his eyes.
“Does this suffice?” The demon inquires with a tired huff. The man turns back and sees the incubus wrap the cloak around himself, exposing his top half to him. A skinny, but still muscled torso is exposed. Flawless, smooth skin with defined pecs and a smooth midriff. “Obviously you summoned me for physical reasons. No point in putting the rest back on if it is just going to come off.”
The young man lets out a sad sigh as he turns his head away guiltily. “Y-yeah. Forgive me its just been a while.”
“Truly?” The demon says with mild surprise. The young man looks up confused at the demon. “You are not half bad looking, Master.” The demon says as he notes the young man's blonde hair and bright green eyes. A cute, nervous smile forms on his handsome face as he hears this.
“Th-thanks, but I know I am your Master and you are forced to say that.” The young man says as his eyes light up as he remembers his manners. “Oh right! Forgive me, my name is Darrien. What is yours?”
The incubus raises a brow. “You are curious about my name, Master?”
“Darrien is fine, and yes.”
“Alright, Darrien,” the incubus says he looks at his Master curiously, “my name is Amias.”
“Pleased to meet you, Amias.”
Amias chuckles as he shakes his head. “Getting a little too used to pleasantries, Darrien?” Darrien raises a brow. “There's no need to act nice, you summoned me for an obvious reason.”
“I mean, true.” Darrien admits with guilt in his voice. “But that doesn't mean I can't be nice to you.”
“Nice? To a demon?”
Darrien shrugs. “My mother says not all demons are evil. And some can even be your friend if you're kind enough.”
Amias looks perplexed at Darrien. “She is right, though now I must ask how old are you?”
“twenty-six.”
“Truly?” Amias asks with shock in his voice. “You look so much younger.”
Darrien giggles. “I get that a lot. Babyface is a curse.”
“Better to look young than old, or at least that is what your kind believes.”
“I don't really care about looks now.” Darrien says coldly, Amias giving him a confused look. Darrien shakes his head. “Anyway, are you comfortable with, y'know, helping me out?”
“Not the first time, Darrien.” Amias replies as he turns around, looking around the room, only seeing an empty study around him. No bed or furniture save for the nightstand near Darrien. Only thing of note is a door to the left of him. “Where are we performing the deed?”
“Well-” A sudden loud crashing noise is heard behind them. Amias looks towards the door curious as Darrien gives a fightful shriek.
“Quick! Make yourself invisible or something!” Darrien orders hurriedly in a whisper. Amias raises a brow but does as he is told, fading away. The door swings open harshly just as Amias disappears, standing the door way is a young, beautiful blonde woman with an angry glare towards Darrien.
“Where's my money?” The woman asks cruelly, walking over to Darrien. Her arms crossed under her ample bosom as she gets uncomfortably close to Darrien.
“I-I left it on the table.” Darrien replies shakily.
“Yeah, twenty gold. Where's the rest.” The woman, not asking but demanding as she raises an open palm. Expecting Darrien to hand over the rest that is owed.
“Elizabeth, the clinic has been slow. I haven't had-”
“I don't care for excuses, Darrien.” Elizabeth interrupts. “It is not my fault if you are not man enough to support your wife.” Darrien gives a defeated sigh as he reaches for the pocket of his robe. A slightly jostling in his pocket is heard as he fishes out a few gold coins.
“There should be ten there.” Darrien says as he drops the coins into her hand. “That's all I have.”
“Turn out your pockets.” Elizabeth demands. Darrien meekly reaches inside his pockets and turns them out, revealing them to be empty. Elizabeth gives a groan and a disappointed eye roll. Not saying a thing as she turns her back to Darrien and walks out of the room, slamming the door behind her. Darrien gives a shuddering sigh as he fixes his pockets.
She's your wife? A voice asks in Darrien's mind. Darrien shudders as the voice says, Its me, Amias.
Darrien gives a sigh of relief, recalling that demons can return from where they came but still remain in contact with their master, but is followed by a look of shame on his face. “You saw that, huh?”
Yes. I can now see why you said 'its been a while' before.
Darrien gives a light, sad laugh. “Yeah, she just hasn't had the urge. Not since she...well, you don't care.”
On the contrary, I do. Darrien furrows his brow in mild surprise and confusion.
“May I ask why?”
Because I know what it is like to be used and abused. And thanks to me being bound to you, I can feel your emotions. And the fact that you are used to these feelings is...troubling.
Darrien shakes his head. “I'm not worth your pity.”
Pity and concern are two different things.
“Regardless, its quite obvious that I'm no longer in the mood. Would you like me to free you now?”
No.
“What? But why not? Don't you want to be free?”
You summoned me for a purpose, and I plan on fulfilling it.
Darrien scoffs. “I have a bed in the next room, want to fulfill it now?”
I will, but will you? Amias asks and Darrien tries to reply but does nothing but gives a tired sigh.
“Its getting late.” Darrien says glumly. “I'm going to bed, we can talk tomorrow.”
Very well, Master.

Check out my eBook on Amazon
Please check out my book Dracas, a book heavily inspired by video game RPGs from my childhood to the present. I will provide a link to the book as well as a preview to the first five chapters. Note, the preview is not representative of the final version. Converting the file into a file on Google Docs messed a few things up. I fixed most of them but there maybe a couple things I missed.
