A lot of people have probably already said this, but your art is *gorgeous*!! I know you said commissions are closed, but I'm just curious to know if you have a post on it about your pricing and such? I'd definitely like to ask you for a commission once you're able to, but no pressure okay! Also your art is amazing. Have I already said that? YOUR ART IS DAMN BEAUTIFUL!!!

Heya anon! I did have a post regarding pricing, but I’m looking to update it soon when I finish up with my current batch of commissions so a good chunk of it is outdated. Most of my commissions are standard head/bust shots at the moment. I’m looking to expand to various add-ons like backgrounds and OCs, so the current prices aren’t accurate anymore. Thank you so much for the compliment! ☆ I... tried to record my screen for a school project once. A couple of minutes ended up with over 1gb of footage... I’m not too sure how a couple of hours of drawing will turn out, heh. *Sweats*

I do take some screenshots of my work every now and then. I realise they’re not very helpful when sped up into GIFs, so I might just post them individually next time! I love saving shots of my process; sort of a long-time habit of mine. Many have asked about the details regarding my Mitsuhide piece (brushes, etc.), so I’ll be doing a process compilation (with explanation, of course) sometime soon too. Will most likely be up by the end of this week! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ

Thank you to anyone who has ever liked my art.

Don’t know how many this post will reach, seeing that most of my notes aren’t from my followers, but yea, decided to post it anyway. 

I originally started posting ikesen scribbles as a fun thing among friends. And I needed a god-damned distraction (yes, I’m a swear roulette; this is me on a good day) from school and work. So boom, a tumblr was created and scribbles turned into solid artworks and here we are now.

Seriously, if you’ve ever liked, reblogged, commented, saved, or even stopped scrolling to view my work, I thank you from the bottom of my angsty little wretched heart.

I really, really don’t know what to say other than thank you at this point; I’m so glad you guys think so much of my work.

I came to tumblr and twitter pretty much alone, so I don’t know many people here. If anyone wants to chat about art, fangasms, or simply as to why the sky is blue, feel free to hop into my DMs. I squeak when I’m startled, so I can swear on Isehime’s grave that I’m not in the least bit scary. Let’s be friends (っ˘ω˘ς )

Yet another Procreate sketch! :D Started out as mostly hair practice (I love asymmetrical hair), but decided to polish up the face to go along with. Growing increasingly familiar with sharpening the hair tips and basic shading functions now. Done with the Mercury brush this time.

Arthur from Ikemen Vampire and Kenshin from Ikemen Sengoku 

My first time drawing with Procreate! Wow, it’s really a leap from Photoshop. Arthur was my first and I had quite a bit of trouble getting used to drawing on a live screen. It started off all jittery and I couldn’t get the proportions right XD His features started falling into place once I figured out how to properly use the Free Transform tool. And holding the damn pencil right, heh. 

Kenshin was way easier. Probably because I love inky sketches in general and couldn’t wait to fiddle around with their glorious inking set. I only used the Inka brush and it is phenomenal! My wacom doesn’t have tilt so you can imagine how blown my mind was. Technicalities aside, I’m in love with his enigmatic expression. Is he about to go murder mode? Some kind of quiet determination? Lost in thought? The beauty of this man will be the death of me. 

And because I didn’t have an iPad stand, I’ve been drawing with it propped up on my lap the whole time so you can imagine the parallax error. Gotta get a proper stand soon. Anyway, landscape was all I could manage because of this. Wanted to crop, but figured some might enjoy this orientation as a wallpaper. *cough* aka me You’re more than welcome to download and use it for personal use, no need to ask. Thank you for your beautiful words, dear. My schedule’s a bit of a nutjob these days with the current coronavirus situation, but I’m still colouring up commissions (this Mitsuhide piece is also a commission) as best as I can. I hope this piece will be finished in about a week or two!（* ´▽｀*）

Wow, my virgin eyes downloaded the game because I saw a half-naked Ieyasu ad when they launched the onsen event last year in JP 😂 Been ruined ever since. Omg you use Photoshop?? If I may ask, what brushes do you use when you color your artworks? 

Answered here! :D  Oh!! I almost forgot to add-- for anyone using Photoshop CC, Aaron Blaise, a former animator from Disney, is having an incredible Photoshop brush sale rn! Texture brushes that used to cost about $40 are now selling for $5! :0 Idk when the sale ends, but I bought quite a few sets, heh. Here’s the link.

Process + Brushes Used

Software: Photoshop CC Main Brushes Used: Opacity Pressure Brush (default brush, for 80% of the blending), Kyle’s Ultimate Oil Flat Wonky (for rough/ initial blending), Kyle’s Kyle’s Manga - Sharp Small (for lining)

Kyle’s Brushes are an amazing pack of free brushes that come with Photoshop CC. Just go to your Brushes Panel > Menu (that icon with 4 horizontal lines on the top left) > Get More Brushes > Sign in with your Adobe account to download them. Only available for Photoshop CC though!

Anyway, if you don’t have Photoshop CC, the G-Pen, Transparent Watercolour, and Gouache brushes from Clip studio will work just fine! :D (In fact, I think the Transparent Watercolour works better than Photoshop’s Opacity Pressure Brush, even)

1. Rough brush: I use this brush 100% for the skin. Rough brushes, in general, are great for human skin because I like to preserve some hard edges and texture to make it look more natural. Apart from skin, I usually use this brush for rough colour application, as seen in the hair. The strokes are rather raw and I don’t blend much - what’s important is laying down the basic shadows!  

2. Smooth brush: SEE THE MAGIC?!?! XD After I get a good positioning of where the strands go, I go over everything with this smoother opacity brush. Never use an airbrush. This is Photoshop’s default brush and is very useful in achieving that hard to smooth edges for shading! Used it for all the clothes as well.

3. Sharp brush: I swear on Isehime’s grave that this brush is sharper than himezuru ichimonji. Apart from lining the whole artwork, I used it to sharpen all those streaks of highlight! :D

Here’s the full process GIF from start to end! I love saving screenshots of my WIPs, heh. Didn’t save a lot of shots of the skin and eyes though, unfortunately :( Maybe next time ^^
