"Why do you have a gun?" Belly Conklin
"I found it." He slipped the weapon back in his jeans after making sure the safety was on lock. It wasn't a complete lie he did find it with John B. JJ didn't mention he stole it too. "Being from the cut, you got to protect yourself."

"It happens." JJ said, grabbing her a blanket. He plopped down by her feet. He could use a break himself. They went to the kegger around five, and didn't get back to John B's till close to 1am. The boneyard was thinning out by 11 pm with groups of friends. "I think, I smoked more weed than drank tonight." JJ said, uncertain if Kie already passed out from the alcohol. " of course I'll stay with you. Hey, you know what sounds good. Chips and dip, pizza, fries, and some burgers..." The blonde pogue began listing off his munchies grocery list. "What's open this late?"
“Oh, right.” She was definitely drunk if she was admitting to how she did it. Kie just dropped onto the couch, looking down at the water. “I didn’t mean to…” Out of the four of them, Kie was usually the responsible one, getting the rest of them to bed after a party before she either just crashed or left them with their hangover cures and went home. Her behind the first one down was shocking, and more than a little concerning to her. It would probably be more worrisome for her in the morning. “.. will you stay with me? Even if I’m in time out?” For some reason, the idea of him leaving her made her upset, she wanted him with her.

Seeing Taylor Swifts stupid lyrics everywhere...

"I'm telling you. We're playing a dirty game with a crazy old bag. Don't underestimate old people. They can be surprisingly strong when survival instincts kick in." JJ knew first hand. He got scolded by a few for being a little shit growing up. "One time my grandpa almost whacked me with his cane.
“fine... touché, smart-ass,” she commented while giving him one slight smirk, “but come on... an old lady who is barely able to see what’s in front of her? even if she were able to listen to us... if she’s really that old, i doubt it she’s even strong enough to pick one of her guns up, jj... that’s it, if she’s really got one! we’re not going missing, alright?! you can’t seriously believe in tales about psycho grandmas...”

"You're Dean?" JJ remembered his face now in a picture his Aunt Ellen had hanging in the Roadhouse. Dean carried himself different than the face looking back at him in the picture. Due to experiences, and shit he'd seen. Things JJ had yet to experience being a twenty year old kid in Dean's eyes.
"Just a wild guess. I already found it." JJ said, taking the lead to the unmarked grave. "No, I'm not digging with a crowbar. My uncle before he passed. He taught me how to swing an iron bat when i was a little kid. I didn't understand why he had one made of iron. Their usually steel or wood. I chalked it up to Uncle Bill just being Uncle Bill." JJ didn't know about the supernatural until the Roadhouse got attacked by a demon. Jo and Aunt Ellen had to break the new to him about everything. Including what his Uncle really did before he died. "I got knives my older cousin gave me if anything ever happened to her. I didn't know how much of freak she was about knives."
dean's bottom lip gets shoved into the upper one. damn it. it's not like he's SHORT. it's obvious why sam got the title. but. doesn't matter. makes him feel freaking whatever.. doesn't matter. "my brother? doing some homework. kind of a history buff about your town. guess it's part of why we ended up swinging this way. kinda passing through." kinda. meaning once they get to the bottom of the case they're working on? they'll be on their way and, no doubt, judging by their history? the town'll be glad it's in their taillights on the way out.
"maybe. why? that what your doing here this late?" now, dean's curious. why? cause the guy's got a crowbar and looking for a grave well past midnight. so that makes him a few things. a graverobber. a weirdo. or a...yeah he's not even gonna let that image come to mind. let's just say...dean prefers his dates on the good side of alive. but to each his own. and the very slimmest? maybe they have more in common than meets the eye. which piques his interest even more. green hues flick to the iron in jj's hand then back. "if you're digging? shovel usually works better.. or you got one of those stashed somewhere, too?"

"That means it has a ring to it." JJ counted that as a win if it was being compared to a Pete Wentz song title. It was a weird time in all their lives. His dad was gone. JJ didn't know if he was alive or dead. He just hit the high seas to never return. Big John and Ward Cameron were gone. Half of everyone's parents weren't around anymore. Even when Luke was around. He was passed out or in jail most of JJ's life. "Do you think Rafe is going to be out for blood because of Ward?" He asked, wondering if Sarah was thinking the same thing. Rafe Cameron was all about making his father proud.
if there was one thing she'd come to understand about jj, it was that he could be counted on to be funny in the worst possible situations. maybe that wasn't for everyone, but strangely she needed it right about now. as soon as everyone else left and it was just them waiting around, it was like all the obvious conversation topics had just vanished with them. for a moment, sarah didn't know what to say or how to react. it was exhausting being upset, and her body held that tension. as soon as the comment settled over her, her body felt like it lost some of that weight. "seems like kind of a long name...or a fall out boy song, don't you think?"

@heartsbreaking liked for a starter
JJ sat there quietly for once with Sarah. He never actually had a one on one with the girl. She'd been through a lot with her dad. JJ didn't know how else to cope with his trauma than to make jokes. "We should start a club. We can call it my dad tried to kill me by strangulation."

"He's not going to snitch on you is he?" JJ didn't have siblings. He knew the dynamics between them from friends, and general observation as an only child. He thought about it for a few seconds before answering Chrissy. "Okay." Being offered a place to lay low, and heal from his fight with his dad for the weekend was a good thing. Showing up at Hawkins High with a busted lip, and and jab to his right eye would make kids questioned what the hell happened. "I kind of lied, and told Steve I got in an accident on my dirt bike. Planted face first. It's why I'm not showing up to work tonight. Let's just keep this between us. The truth."
It was very heartbreaking to hear the pain in JJ’s words, and though she couldn’t magically fix the relationship between him and his father, the least she could do? Get him away from his father. Even if just for a few nights. “Kind of? My parents are out of town, and I already told my brother that he can have some friends over. I know babysitting is probably not something you have in mind, but he’s a sweet kid.” Sometimes. The older he became, the harder it was to get him to listen. “There’s a guest house out back that you can stay in, too.”

"He's probably passed out on the couch. If I'm lucky." JJ was never thrilled going home. He showed up once or twice a month just to make sure his dad still had a pulse. It's not like the man cared where he was or is half the time. "Can you put patches on it. That might look cool. My old babysitter had these lame overalls in the 90's when she was a kid. She told me she got patches from the craft store, and put them on her overalls. I guess it depends on the patches. I imagined hers was full of smiley faces, and rainbows."
continued from / ( katie & jj ) / @roguexpogue
“exactly what i was going for when i rolled outta bed this morning. still trying to make it fashionable. so far, no dice.” katie snorted, ringing jj up at the register, and grabbed the cigarettes from the large case behind her. “luke doing okay? haven’t seen him come in for awhile.” not that it was ever nice when he did come in. the man was usually half in the bag making everyone feel uncomfortable.

Why didn't the writers of Outer Banks make the younger cast in their 20s. None of them look like teenagers except Wheezie. It would make more sense if season 1 was like their summer before 'college.' None of them go to school barely. It's not a show set around a High School like Euorphia, Stranger Things, etc...

the cool air gave him a shiver. They were in the shower for a while goofing off, and taking turns washing each other. He threw a towel at Sage. JJ let out a laugh. Sage was probably going to kick his ass. Being naked didn't help his case. He wrapped his towel around his waist. JJ found his boxers lying on the floor in the bedroom. He put them on, and chucked towel in the hamper. "So...what you want to do now?" He kept his eyes on her, a playful smirk crossed his lips.
fingers dance under the water as it heats up and once at the desired temperature, she leads him into it. they're not rushed this time, nor is the end result to be anything more than this. just basking in the after glow and enjoying the intimacy as they washed each other. giggles leaving her lip every time he sweeps his fingers over her sides. she's softer since that first day. a little less combative and her walls had started to crumble. as she rinses the suds from her hair, a soft hum leaves her lips. "you're really good at that." she smiled, peaking his lips when she looked at him. soon the water starts to lose the heat and the blond is urging him out.
