A beach trip with the whole friendship group in stranger things would be wholesome for Steddie but also so chaotic.

Because Steve is used to just sunbathing, sitting around, and being on show for dates in the past that were on beaches. So it's a playful change when Eddie sets Steve on the task of digging a moat for his massive sandcastle. (He also doesn't mind watching Steve work away in nothing but trunks while sweating in the heat at alll)

So that Eddie can defend his castle against Dustin's and use Steve's handiwork to protect his kingdom. Then you've just got Lucus in the background whining because Dustin got sand in his eye, while ferociously digging to compete with Steve and Eddie's fortification.

Just Eddie and Steve being sillies together.
