I don't understand why people are so insistent on pushing Emily's sexuality into being lesbian. Don't get me wrong, I also want Emily to have a girlfriend (though not JJ for me, sorry—I don't understand the urge to pair them together, especially when JJ has been married for 10 years with 2 kids). However, with Tara, for example, I'm all for it. I know the initial plan was for Emily to be a lesbian, but throughout Criminal Minds' 16 years, we've seen Emily love men too. Why couldn't Emily be bisexual? Why do people keep pushing her sexuality into something she might not be? And why do people love to tear apart a marriage for their ship? I'm all for it if JJ isn't married; I shipped them before JJ got pregnant and got serious with Will. But now, in my opinion, Jemily is as bad as Jeid, sorry. I really just want to understand; this isn't a hate ask

Bruh I am on the same page as you.

In early seasons, yeah I ship jemily hardcore, there’s so many little moments that linger and toe the line of platonic relationship. Then the writers/show runners knew what they could tease/bait into getting more views/people to come back week after week & continued to do it. (Aka 200/them hallucinating each other).

And that’s the exact same thing that AJ’s comment in that interview was… bait. Theyve already clairified that Will isnt dying/divorcing, the actor just isnt returning. To do jemily in s17 makes no sense, esp after the health scare in s16 that will came out on the good side of, if theyd killed him off in s16 then maaaaaaaaybe.

Now imo, Temily in s17+ does work. They used s16 to establish tara as queer, and then could easily use that progress of emily either saying that she’s bi or having her start to question her sexuality & bonding with tara over it until they realize feelings.

YES. THANK YOU. And yeah she was supposed to be a lesbian originally but there is no erasing the men she dated in canon, no matter how much people may hate them. (Imma get hate for this but i didnt mind Mendoza…) and THAT likely comes from such biphobia/bi erasure within the lgbt community, which is unfortunate. If emily was to be queer in s17+ she would either be bi, or be a late in life lesbian, realizing that maybe that’s why things never seemed to work out. Honestly, i’d prefer her to be bi. We dont have enough representation on television.

I guess i dont really have an answer, but those are my thoughts 😂😂

Also, Emily totally has a crush on Jordan. The Viper might be an asshole but there’s a few kernels of wisdom in his bullshit, and even if there weren’t the narrative affirms his shit as working/being correct a few times, right? So Emily is smily at and around Jordan, and during a few of their scenes together she keeps looking at her and then away, or down and stuff like that, stuff that usually signals a shy and badly hidden crush. CM Head Canon: Emily coming out to JJ & Penelope during Girls' Night

I have 100 different versions of Emily coming out and it ALWAYS involves:Alcohol + Girls NightMostly my fave is the three are playing Never Have I Ever. Except they have a rule where you can lie and say something you have done. IF the other two suspect you’re lying then you have to finish your drink instead of just one swig. 

So it gets to Penelope and she is piss drunk and out of ideas and only has 2 fingers up and she is just like “Never have I ever kissed a person of the same gender.”

Now, PG, she’s smart. Because she knows they’re going to call her a liar but she’s *not* lying. Bc she’s actually Nonbinary. And she’s kissed plenty of binary men and women but never another Enby folx. So she thinks she has this shit in the bag…but then neither JJ NOR Emily put a finger down. 

And Garcia calls them on their bullshit, “You two are lyyyyying!”

“I’ve never kissed a woman,” JJ shrugs, looking soulfully at Emily.

“I’ve never…kissed…a woman,” Emily says slyly. “Technically.”

But that gets both of the other women’s attention. 

“What does ‘technically’ mean?” JJ asks.

“Well, I mean I’ve slept with women,” Emily says like it’s NBD. “But I don’t kiss people on the mouth.”And then Emily just turns to JJ and is like, “But I’d break my rules for you…”

And Garcia is sitting there watching this shit in slow motion as Emily leans in and kisses JJ and JJ just about faints because omgawd that’s the best kiss of her life. 

Garcia just shouts, “I WIN!”

Because JJ had now kissed a woman and then had to put her last finger down. But she didn’t mind losing.

Here’s Emily’s full coming out story:

So, when she was at Columbia that was the first time she realized she was gay. And she knew her mother would have a fit because no daughter of an Ambassador should be shaming the family name by being a lesbian.

It was Emily’s second semester of sophomore year and she had just started to date Lauren (this is where Emily came up with the name for her alias), her first girlfriend. She was wonderful and the holidays rolled around and Emily wanted Lauren to come home with her but she was going home to family. Meanwhile, Emily had met Jasper Noah Howard,III on the golf team and she and him were the best of friends. He lived in DC so they decided to fly home together.

Well when her mother came to the airport and saw her with a strapping young man she just automatically assumed they were together. Jasper was so,very, gay but he wasn’t out either. They decided just to go with it. They spent the entire winter break pretending to be in love with each other. Emily and Jasper really sold it to their families, it was great.On the last day before they flew back out they staged this elaborate break up and Elizabeth was appalled. She told Emily that she would probably never find another guy like Jasper and she was an idiot to let him go. Emily told her he just wasn’t her type and Elizabeth flat out asked, “Well what is your type?” and Emily looked her dead in the eyes and said, “Women, mother.”Emily walked out the door, took a cab, got on a flight and went back to Columbia. After that they just never talked about it again. Elizabeth is not supportive but she accepts it now. 

JJ was the first woman Emily ever wanted to “bring home” to meet her mother (even thought they had met at the BAU on multiple occasions). When they arrived Emily told her mother (probably in Russian) to “Go easy on her, this means a lot to me” but Elizabeth was hell bent on crucifying JJ (Much to Emily’s chagrin) JJ held her own though and called the Ambassador out as needed. They went the entire night speaking tongue in cheek.

At the end of the night, Emily was mortified with how Elizabeth had acted. She apologized profusely to JJ and decided they should leave early. Before they left Emily got into a heated argument (again in Russian) with her mother for being such a bitch. But Elizabeth simply smiled and said “Ona khorosha dlya vas. Yesli vy umny vy zhenit'sya na ney.” (She is good for you, If you’re smart you’ll marry her) 

And that was that. Elizabeth was impressed that JJ held her own and didn’t just lay back and take it so she respected JJ from then on out.

Queerminal Minds started out in July 2015. I have always seen Emily as demisexual, she really has to get to know someone before sleeping with them.

Jordan is the type of person who walks into the queer club and everyone stops to stare. They command attention anywhere they go, even when she's not even trying. Just alluring AF and it's not her fault!!!

Jordan for sure dated Emily when she was filling in for JJ in S4. Jordan caught feelings really bad for Emily, but Emily got scared about someone getting that close to getting past her defences so she sort of ghosted Jordan. (Emily still regrets this)

Alex Blake

Sexuality: Bisexual/Queer

Gender: (I hate that all I want to say here is: Yes, Daddy) || Pronouns: She/Her

Alex is super polyamorous and fine with casual sex with friends. She's confident AF and happy to Dom any of the women of the BAU

Alex and Emily slept together before Emily left in '200'.

Alex also had a thing with Strauss before Strauss tried to ruin her career.

Elle Greenaway

Sexuality: Pansexual, Aromantic

Gender: Agender || Pronouns: She/They

Oh god, Elle is the Toppest Top. Like, she'd give Tara a run for their money.

Elle and JJ used to sleep together as friends with benefits before Elle left

At some point, who knows when or how, Elle and Emily slept together and it was some of the best sex either of them have ever had.

The gayest little himbo of them all. He's such a hunk and he for sure has slept with Reid and Derek on separate occasions. He's a power Bottom.
