Desi songs are literally so pretty. Like no english song saying “You’re the equivalent of God to me” will ever compare to “mai mandir kyun jaanva mera yaar khuda hai, mai masjid kyun jaanva mera yaar khuda hai” and then we also have songs about people declaring that their love stretches beyond boundaries like religion, “mile mandar me khuda jo, mai to tujhse yu mila hu". For us it's not “I can’t get enough of you, I just want you for myself", it's “usko chhupa kar mai sabse kabhi le chalu kahi door, aankhon ke pyaalo se peeta rahu uske chehre ka noor”.We don't sing about how we are unable to move on, we instead sing,“Ab jau kaha pe, dil ruka hai waha pe jahaan dekh ke mujhe wo aage badh gaya”. We know a way to include the nature in our musings like no one else can .
