I'm still hoping to bang out a mystery fic and it might be the one trope that I really can't get out of my head at the moment... so I guess I better not answer this just yet... or pick my second fave.... which has to be something along the lines of meet-awkward/cutes where the situation is just... ridiculous.

I kind of love that (especially when the situation is a little crazy - like being the family doctor to you own donor-child without knowing said donor-child exists... just to name a thing) xxx

24. How do you recharge when you’re not feeling creative? Lately, I've been having a little trouble with this, so please share all your secrets with me. I've noticed being too busy to write is a good stimulater (apart from the obvious... not having time to actually write) and for me music is a big inspiration. just listening to music while not doing much, also cycling seems to trip my brain into new ideas.

9. start to finish, how long did it take you to write the last fic you posted? My last posted fic on AO3 was written for a challenge a while back and I think I thought about the premise and the pairing for a few weeks. Writing, editing, putting it aside and refreshing it before posting was probably also a few weeks. I'll Settle For The Ghost of You - Practicecourts - Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling [Archive of Our Own] has only 1234 words but those came to be over almost 6 weeks (it would be closer to 5 days of billable time I suppose ;-)

30. share a fic you’re especially proud of. I'm proud of trying new things. I played with a first person POV & writing M-rating for the first time in a fic I'm surprisingly fond and proud of (lol, who'd have thought) Shall We Shag Now Or Later? - Chapter 1 - Practicecourts - Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling [Archive of Our Own] I'm cheating a little but I'm also proud of the microfics (one a day for the full month) where I tried a lot of different things, varying from cliffhangers, completely different AUs to new POVs, and I loved doing that. One Word Prompts - A collection of (Jily) Microfics - Chapter 10 - Practicecourts - Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling [Archive of Our Own], the best thing is that it helped get back into the fun part of writing!

hiiii! 12. a trope you’re really into right now

to read everything short (bc time and yes that’s not a trope) but also for some weird reason into arranged /fake marriage (for green cards, reputation rehabilitation or whatever, and since the modern variation to this is a little less probable that also means a lot of regency, medieval, historical AU) although I haven’t found time to read a lot of jily (also because I find it harder to read and write about these two at the same)

14. where do you get your inspiration?

usually it comes when I’m busiest without any time to write much down, those months are coming up. I listen to music for vibes, sometimes just a bit in a movie or a part of a book or something in the papers inspires me? For the month of micros that was actually the hardest but also most fun part where all these little ideas or weird scenarios could be made into Jily. I really enjoyed seeing them in the things around me !

these memories follow me around - A Jily Modern AU

I was not supposed to publish this tonight and not to leave it unfinished either. I wanted to gift all Jily fans who like to read fanfiction as much as I do a finished 3-part fic which I had been working on whenever I felt like it in the past couple of weeks. However, I just realized tonight that my AO3 draft will be deleted tomorrow and I didn't want this to happen for the very obvious reason that I didn't want my work to get lost.

So, if you'd like to read it... Part One is up. Part Two and Three to follow as soon as possible!

The first time she ever saw him, he was stumbling out of Emmeline’s room; half-naked, rubbing sleep from his eyes, hair an absolute mess – a perpetual state she would later find out – and quite obviously hungover.

Lily knocks on Harry’s dormitory door, before slowly opening it to spot him perched on his bed. His back leaning against the wall as he stares broodingly out the window.

He looks so utterly crestfallen…James had been right, Harry‘s date must really have been bad.

She bites lip in silent sympathy. „Hi, sweetheart,“ she addresses him quietly. „Can I come in?“

Harry, who’s only just seemed to acknowledge her presence, blinks at her for a moment. „Mum? uh, yeah…sure.“ he replies.

She crosses the room, ignoring how messy it is — teenage boys, right?

Sitting down on the edge of the bed, she reaches her hand out to lightly touch his knee. „Date didn’t go well?“

Harry sighs, fiddling a bit with the hem of his shirt — the one he‘s so eagerly put on just a few hours ago, with the brightest smile on his face as he‘d told her about his date with Cho Chang.

Lily scoots closer, until she’s sitting next to him, wrapping an arm around his shoulders. „Tell me what happened?“

„Well…we, sort of, uhm…kissed—“

Lily’s eyes widen with surprise. „You did?“ she asks, cringing slightly at how high pitched she sounds. But…it’s not everyday her son gets his first kiss, is it? „Then, why do you look so gloomy?“

„Because,“ Harry groans, hiding his face in his hands. „I shouldn’t have— it was a mistake.“ he runs a hand self-consciously through his hair. „She cried. She cried as we…kissed, because of— of Cedric.“

Oh dear…

„Oh, darling…I’m sorry. She shouldn’t have kissed you whilst struggling with…what happened.“ Lily replies, running her fingers gently through Harry‘s curls.

„Yeah…“ Harry shrugs, before he shifts his head to lean it on her shoulder. „Thanks Mum.“ he whispers, after a moment of them just sitting there. He takes her hand, which she all too gladly allows for him to hold.

„What for, Harry?“

He looks up to her through his lashes, smiling slightly. „Being here.“
