Shreveport is home to many creative and talented individuals. We manifest and create on a consistent basis in hopes that the future generation has memories to cherish. Shreveport is an art cult. A community of artistic genius. Over the past two years new projects and organizations have surfaced or joined forces allowing creative professionals, musicians, business owners, culinary creators and visionaries to share their gifts to the public eye. Allowing for a taste of uniqueness so unfiltered, and uncommon in the heart of the Arklatex. We are rich with artist drooling for creative advancement. We have a renown art gallery known for facilitating outstanding exhibits and even our own music and arts festival #PORTCULTURE in the heart of the downtown area called ARTSPACE SHREVEPORT. Last night was the opening exhibit from Harriet Stone Evans called “From Flowers to FORM Art Inspired By Mathematics” at Artspace Shreveport. If you have never been out to an exhibit, you should get off of your couch and down to this one as soon as possible. Art and math are the essential forces of our existence (writer opinion) and everything we can perceive is that, (writer opinion) then everything else is everything else. Harriet Evans uses vivid color, precision, and mathematical formulas to speak directly to your mind. The room is filled with wisdom and the common “code of life”. There are pieces that combine the linear male and female representations into art. This is a five out of five presentation. Our experience there was met by hands on activities that even test your own knowledge of spacial reason and patterns!
