I made this cave

More information under the cut

I used various references while making this of caves and then also keep paintings. Obviously, the big cave in France was a major component, but also smaller, less known ones from all over Europe and also some and South America. I believe I don’t quite remember.

The cave is made from cardboard and covered in a mixture of mod podge gesso, a sand typically used and clay, and then a little bit of grout. It gives it a very hard texture. It also kind of feels like rubbing it over very sandy like rock, but it’s very firm. Some of the bigger chunks are Styrofoam, which also coated in that, and then I put layers of paint and stuff, trying to mimic various textures, and what not

The actual painting themselves are basically charcoal. Some of the hand mixture is a little bit of watercolor to just help thin it up a bit. This is how I ripped apart part of my skin on my fingers and hands from rubbing my fingers through that grit actually put indents that are finally healed

The little dots you see by some of the animals or dashes in them, are related to a research that he said haven’t been fully vetted yet since of like those dots were related to meeting or hunting season for those animals it’s kind of depends on who you
