Scooby-Doo Meets Professor Layton (2010, Unreleased)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Before the Professor's meeting with a certain Attorney, apparently another crossover was in the works. Being developed back in 2010 before being dropped in favor of developing for the 3DS, Scooby-Doo meets Professor Layton was going to have everyone's favorite great dane and a true gentleman trying to uncover a good old fashioned mystery, spliced in-between some classic puzzle solving by series veteran Akira Tago, and screenwriter Glenn Leopold taking up the story.
A small demo released by an ex-Level 5 designer, saying the project was quite extensive, but due to licensing issues, and lack of interest by Warner Bros. it got shut down.
We would have gotten it too, if it wasn't for meddling executives!
Thank you so much to Muzzable for their permission to use their wonderful renditions of Scoob & The Gang for a DS Layton-Style Game Mockup~

October 29th. Haunting Ground (PS2, 2005)
You're unfamiliar. Unfamiliar with this place, incredibly unfamiliar.
The people who roam it are with you, but you aren't with it. They too, are unfamiliar.
Not just in the sense you don't remember them, but they are off. An off-putting sentence,
maybe a bizarre question. Something plain wrong.
They want to kill you, they shouldn't but they can, they want to, and by god they'll try.
You don't know why. You don't know where you are. You don't know what you did.
You don't know this castle, you don't know it's inhabitants, and you don't know where to go.
Where to hide. You've never known this panic, you've never known fear, you only know this.
He is so close.
So.
Uncomfortably.
Close.

October 13th. Friday
Pleasure. Pleasure comes in many, many shapes and forms. It can help us escape.
Escape from the burdens of reality, and deep into fantasy, love, and and excitement.
But go too far with pleasure, and soon you're far beyond comprehension, you're
unaware of your surroundings, it's just the pounding of your heart, the ecstacy
in your mind. Anything could happen, and yet you're focused on the pleasure.
While you're focused on this pleasure of yours, you fail to notice your reality
crumbling, the danger behind you.
The death.

October 10th. ???
In the pursuit of art, we often have to reach deep into the near infinite pours of imagination.
Nick too, has to find his way through this. A specific middle ground between light and shadow. Between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit o a mans fears and the summit of his knowledge.
Unfortunately he has to pass through a dimension of imagination.
A dimension, which we call...

October 10th. Evil Dead
What started as a simple vacation turned into survival. Reading the words from the book of the dead brought more then just demons. It brought hell.
Your friends possessed, your resources limited, and your sanity low, you're stuck in a neverending nightmare in a cabin in the woods...
Sounds pretty Groovy to me.

October 5th. Ghostface (Scream)
October. A wonderful time to really sit down with your friends, and just watch a bunch of stupid movies.
Not just any stupid movies. Horror Movies. Some of the best entertainment and drama around.
My favorite part, personally is the drama. The way these poor souls in the midst of crisis reach a high point.
A dramatic turnaround where they panic. The mistakes to be had in a panic. Makes you wonder how you'd deal
with it yourself.
I mean wouldn't you just kill to watch a few of these? Wouldn't you just kill to be in one?
Wouldn't you just be the killer...? Or maybe it's your friends. The ones you don't expect.
Are they killers? Will they kill you? Or will I..._ **
So I just gotta ask...
What's your favorite scary movie?

October 3rd. It's Terror Time, Again
(Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island)
You're running through the woods, the hurdling silouhettes of trees flying fast.
Your legs stumbling over terrain, your feet getting caught in vines, the thundering splash of the mud hitting your ankles.
As you run, you wonder how you got here. What led to this panic... this terror.
Was it when you heard the screech of the owl? Was it when the wind began to howl? Was it when these... things began to prowl?
All you remember, truly, is that the trees began to moan, as these monsters grunt and groan, their still rotting flesh oozing slime...
Perhaps it was then you knew that...
It was Terror Time.

Clock Tower (SNES)
You remember this feeling... being lost. Being scared.
What once were simple sounds for you, have now become foreign dangers.
What is it in the shadows behind you? What is that snapping sound?
Is it known or...? Unknown?

INDIANA JONES & The Tomb of the Gods (SNES, Unreleased)
It had been 5 years since the last Indiana Jones movie came out, but the interest for a good video game was still there. In 1995, Factor 5 (Indiana Jones' Greaest Adventures, Super Star Wars) and LucasArts (Indiana Jones & The Fate of Atlantis, Monkey Island) came together for Tomb of the Gods, a point & click action platformer. The apparent idea from recovered screenshots was that the gameplay would switch according to what was happening in the story.
Tumblr media
The game was set to have an original story written by Hal Barwood and Rob Williams. After meeting with a former colleague, in New York, Indy is lured again into a globetrotting race against the Nazi's. However, in the search for the Tomb of the Gods, he starts feel something dark... The question now is if Indiana Jones' mind will survive the adventure?
Tumblr media
It seemed the plot took some major inspirations from the works of H.P. Lovecraft in this horror themed adventure for the Archeologist. While it never quite got off the ground, Rob Williams did repurpose this plot in 2008 for the Dark Horse Comic of the same name.

Finishing up Metroid Dread, so have a doodle of Samus, based on the Nintendo Power art of her for Super Metroid. 6′3″, 198 pound, strong, muscular woman, as they described her. Aka idk my type or something. This will always be the way I see Samus Aran in my head.

Street Fighter RPG: World Tour (Unreleased) Due to the immense popularity of Street Fighter, it's a no brainer that Capcom would want to branch off into spinoffs. One such spinoff was the rather strange Street Fighter RPG. It seemed like it would have been some sort of strange hybrid RPG akin to Nintendo's Mario Sports Titles on the Gameboy, but there are some very obvious Pokemon comparisons to be made.
It seemed like you would have trained by Luke, who acted a lot like your average Pokemon Professor, and ran around Final Fight's Metro City learning moves from various Street Fighter Characters.
What's really fascinating is the appearance of Luke! Who might have appeared 21 years before his debut in Street Fighter 5. It's a shame we'll never see what SFRPG would have looked like on the Gameboy it's self in action.
But it seems that Street Fighter 6 took a lot of inspiration from this unreleased title.

The work which becomes a new genre itself, will be called...
Tumblr media
I actually made this a while ago. But I was deep in the excellent genre bender that was Watanabe's Cowboy Bebop. Combined with the sick music by Yoko Kanno and the Seatbelts, I was constantly clamoring for more out of the experience.
Then the Netflix show came out. Which was uh... Yeah, it was a show. They did do a few things I liked, like the casting on the main 3, the costume design. But other than that they really dropped the ball on the vibes. Especially the music. I bought the Vinyl. It came with two, only one of them actually sounded great standalone. (It was mostly covers.)
But I had a fun idea to challenge myself by trying to combine what I liked about both designs into one, and maybe satiate my need to have an idea of what Cowboy Bebop would look like if it were made by WayForward and ArcSystems, and in the style of River City Girls' and it's main artist "BigJerk"

Pull Dat Trigger!
Tumblr media
Studio TRIGGER is my favorite anime studio period. With instant classics like Kill la Kill, Inferno Cop, Promare, Edgerunners, and Little Witch Academia. It's highlight to me, are the characters within these stories, who are all wonderfully distinct.
With such interest and diverse characters, I feel like it would be a disgrace to such style and intrigue not to make a fighting game comprised of these groovy characters. If only to add pseudo sequel stories and crossovers.

You probably know this, but I'm not the first to attempt this concept, nor are these visuals my work. All the original sprites, aside from this summery Maya Fey, were made by iKiwed.
That said.., the real prize is the UI work. I wanted to take the HUD present within Ace Attorney, and attempt to redo it within the style of Super Mario Sunshine.
You can check out iKiwed's Phoenix Wright & Mario Sunshine - Debating the Trial Here:
