That’s half my life I spent with people telling me “you’re crazy!” “Gudiella” or a “trouble maker” yet no one actually cared enough to find out why I was odd.

Just ridiculously picked on me for things I can’t change.

Still to this day I have family members who refuse to educate themselves and say I’m wasting my life on the “white man medicine” and I have no right seeking help in Western society because nothings wrong with me.

I’m sorry but you can deny things all you want.

It doesn’t change facts.

There’s no shame in looking after yourself, even if no one else understands the hell you are living.

I’m homeless on my own country. On my ancestoral sacred space. On the land my family have looked after for over hundreds of thousands of years. And for what? For colonisers to take over and rape it, ruin it, then make us pay to be on it.

it’s hard to teach a full grown man or woman my languages, culture, and tribal customs.

Teaching them from scratch is heart breaking and soul crushing.

As the teachings existed for hundreds of thousands of years in my family. Yet it was all stolen from us by colonists.

It’s too much effort explaining especially when they learn or know my family ways then do wrong like cheat or break lore.

I’m sick of having to teach people my Wongi Desert ways then translate it for my Barngarla Water ways. not being able to pratice culture ln country with my Bulang, Mirning and Noongar mob. It is killing me, as I feel my spirit become more hopeless as another one of my elders die.

They were the only ones who understood my mixed language when I spoke and my wild mind.

But I’m glad you’re willing to step out of your comfort zone understand me by being my friend (which I don’t have much of, cause of my strange lore ways)

Because I don’t even make friends anymore cause I’m sick of over explaining. Or being the token black friend.

My skin is not a trend. Nor is my broken English or bush accent.

My lore isn’t less than your law.

So please stop assuming I’m going to tell you everything to understand me.

Cause no one else does that in society, so I’m not going too, just to stop being lonely.

If you can’t be fucked to research my tribal ways or listen, without screaming white guilt then I simply don’t want to know you.

I’ll rather be understood by my ancestoral spirits than sell out for fake colonial friendship.

So yes I will be USING MY VOICE LOUD AND PROUD. The voice my ancestors endured slavery for, rapes, massacres, murders, and torture. The voice that was broken into silence by the colonists. The voice the stolen generation made sure I knew how to use cause they weren’t allowed too.

So don’t white wash our pain. Facts don’t care about feelings. Because you think we don’t deserve to be human with rights like you.

Remove me as your friend.

Because I refuse to be friends with uneducated whydullas who didn’t live in abuse on their own ancestral land. I’m sick of being treated like a fool because of colonialism.

Yesterday, was lucky enough to have our second bus tour where we went to local sites to get a better understanding of the community ✨

I was pretty fascinated to learn more about the issues our community are passionate about solving together 💯
