It often amazes me how the creators Xiaolin just randomly put Jack's Spicer outlook the way they did. I love my guy Rai, cuz he's handsome af, but Jack? Jack freaking Spicer is THE icon of the show when it comes to image. The pale skin, red, like really red (and messy) hair, the long black leather jacket, and it all boosted with the MAKE UP? Make up on a B0Y in 2002/3? They werent playing, that's for sure. Like you can imagine him with some piercing and nail polish on his nails so easily, and it would totally make sense and look good?! so many people love him not only cuz of his personality, but also because of that look, and Im not blaming them, cuz he HAD IT!

We all know Rai likes girls. He does. He does have a crush on Kimiko, he did stare at girls at the beach, he imagined him being an object of admiration for them. We all get that. But it's not my headcanon - I really, truly believe he is canonically like this: He is a sweetheart when he gets to know you and he likes you and he's attracted to you. Like ofc, he has a crush on you, he's attracted to you in physicall sort of way, but he does not not do or say nice things to you and for you just because he wants to fuck you. Like no, not at all. I don't think he would do that with a girl he finds stupid or rude, even if she's super attractive. He would care for you even if he would be friendzoned by you and after you rejected him - getting laid is not the thing he's focused on. He would also not pressure you into doing physical stuff with him. Maybe he would throw one ''c'mon, it's gonna be fun!'', but after you say ''no'', he's gonna quit. And he's not gonna pressure you into doing this with him especially if it's your first time, like to me he's completely not this type of guy. He likes attractive girls, he also finds himself attractive, he like girls and staring at them and having s*x (but he's not objectifying them), but he's not fixated about that and it's not the only thing you can say about him and his interests. When he's in a relationship with you - he's sweet. He cares for you deeply, he makes sure you're okay in every way.

You have already quite thoroughly explained why you don’t think that Omi was the best candidate for Shoku Warrior, so, why do think that Raimundo was chosen? What aspects do you think made him the best candidate?

I already made a post about it (well, more like analysys) some time ago, but I can answer it now just to perpetuate it to yall xD 😂 First of all I would say Rai quickly learns from his mistakes, and I think he realizes that much quicker than the rest, so that’s a good trait for a leader. Second of al - in the contrary to Omi - he doest sees himself as perfect, he’s humble and what’s important - he became humble, and he changed a lot through the show, which is another point. He went through changes that allowed him to see different perspectives on things that are important, like what kind of tricks Heylin is using on them. And while Rai is conscious and aware of that cuz he was there at the other side, Omi is naive and wants to bring the bad guys on the good side and believes them too much. Someone like this would not be a good leader. Also Rai is more chill - Omi probably would work the shit out of them if he would be shoku, and Rai knows how to balance it out. Not too much work, not too much not doing anything, just the right amount. And finally the hill I willd die on saying - Rai has the best solutions and he’s inventive. That’s sooo important in that “job”, cuz you constantly have to think what to do next.

In your opinion, how well do you think that Raimundo and Kimiko would have worked as a romantic couple if it had actually happened?

Oh, I have a headcanon on this! And in my opinion they would not work out actually 🙁 Sadly, but after some time they would call it quits and return to be friends. In my headcanon their relation started as "friends with benefits" and it was a secret they didn't want to tell and share with the others. Especially Kim, cuz Rai basically did that only for her; He himself didn’t have any problem with that. I mean he didn't want others to know they were sleeping together, but he was a little bit...Sad and felt like Kim is ashamed of their relation cuz many times when she thought somebody saw them or that someone was getting suspicious - she was panicking like something horrible would happen if that would be exposed. They had some arguments and talks about it and finally Kim admitted she has some feelings for him as well, and eventually they got together and went official on this. But their relationship wasn't perfect even at its beginnings. Kim wasn't so affectionate and wasn't showing Rai that much emotions, she didt need or want hugs and kisses, it was weird to her that she and Ra are close like this. Having a strictly physical relation was much easier than this. She struggled even with saying "I love you" back, so it didn't make much sense and Rai was actually the one who ended it. But even after that their friendship was continuing like nothing really happened, it was stronger than this "brief" relationship, so they were good. So answering shortly now to your question - No, I don't think they would work out 😂

Raimundo, duh 🙄😅 That's obvious, I mean did you saw his ABS?! And besides the fact he's literally perfect build with his atletic body and brown skin, who's there to look at other than him? Im sorry, but Omi is... Omi 😅 He's the youngest of them so I think it would be weird if Kim woukd look at him "that way". And Clay is just not her type for sure, Im sorry but Rai is the only one 😂

Why Omi would be a bad shoku warrior:

Many might think that the best choice when it comes to picking a leader would be Omi. Why? I think it's because of the fact he's kinda like the main character. Kinda. Cuz in theory there's 4 main characters and that obviously is Omi, Rai, Kim and Clay, but Omi is the first one we see, the first episode is basically focused on him realizing he’s there as a subject of teaching and not the teacher, and he probably has the most episodes that are mainly about him. He has the biggest amount of showdowns and maybe even the most quotes. He's also so fixated about being a xiaolin monk, he often talks about his honor and how he loves to fight and generally how awesome he is. Even my older sister who didn’t watch the show when asked said that Omi became a leader. Just because it suits him, right? He's ambitious, focused on his goals, this reality is everything he knows, so isn't it enough, isn't he a perfect choice? Well, no, and I will prove why *fingers cracking*

#1. Omi is too self focused, narcissistic & egocentric:

Don’t say he's just confident. Being narcissistic is not the same as being confident. He's cocky, he makes fun of others (Raimundo) for their mistakes, he sees himself as the better person in everything and tends to bend what he knows is bad when he really wants to do it to fit his own fake narrative. He loves himself too much, just too much for this position. I saw a quote that said If you want to see if someone is a narcissist you have to listen to how they wish you a happy birthday or any other thing. If they make it somehow about themselves - they're narcissistic. Omi does this, and the example is how when the monks tried to corrupt Dojo with gifts to see if he knows who's gonna be wudai or shoku warrior they all gave him something... normal. Rai - A chain with letter “D”,  Kim - basket with fruits and for Clay it probably was a hat cuz I don't remember. Omi gave him a portrait of himself. Not of Dojo but of him. Narcissist 100%

#2.He wants to be better than everyone and is blinded by that:

Remember when everyone got those kind of wu that were only theirs and they were supposed to like work with that one individual element? The ones they put on their hands? 😅 xD Anyway, Bean Roy knew Omi and the other monks the shortest, since he was the last “big villain" that occurred on the show. And yet he knew that his ego is so big and so prone to suggestions, especially the ones that might make him “even better" than everyone else, that he did go to his head and just whispers "Hey, u know u can use everyone's wu and u will be like super powerful after that?". That's all, he literally didn’t do anything more than that. With Raimundo when he did the same thing - he tried psychological tricks to break him, he had to search for deep things in his mind to do that. But with Omi it was a couple of sentences. A couple of words to make him go and STEAL someone’s belongings to become more powerful just for the sake of it.

#3. His weird relation with Chase Young:

Now, I think that this is a valid and a solid reason on it own to not trust that boy and to not make him a leader. Because how do you imagine a shoku that lies to his friends about what he's doing in the main villain palace and he's there because he wants to SET HIM FREE from the Sphere of Yun that Jack Spicer put him in?! Like what?! He did that ONLY because he likes Chase. And there's no denial he does, because he does, let's be real. We might say “He's just naive and he sees good in everyone”, but that's not what happened there and it had nothing to do with that. He set him free just because. Cuz he likes him, he's for whatever reason almost smitten with Chase. And maybe it's because Chase is like a fallen angel - He was good but then chose to be bad and now Omi wants to make him good again because he was one of the trio that stopped Wuya back in the day and he would like to worship him as he does this with Dashi & Guan? Or maybe because Chase teases him? He's constantly talking to him, Omi knows he wants him by his side and he feels... Special? His ego is most definitely a huge part in this. 100% 

#4.He's naive:

Omi is the youngest as some sources claims, but we all can agree on that I think. He might be under the age of 13 or 14 at ABSOLUTE max. I mean they're all pretty young, but there's still a difference between like 18 I would give to Raimundo at the end of the show or 19 I would give Clay and that 13 of Omi. He's young and he does not know anything about the outside world besides the temple. Maybe that's also the reason why he's so naive, but we see that many times in the show that he wants to make bad people into good ones almost in the blink of an eye. He tried that with Jack a couple of times and he almost wanted to be some sort of friends with him??? When Jack decided to join them he absolutely trusted him, which is so weird to me considering how much resentment and grudge he has and holds towards Rai for his past betrayal. Even when he proved his worth their trust, even when there was no doubt he's changed and knows better now - he still had to clap his goddamn mouth about how Rai is worse than him and the rest and he still doesn’t know if he can trust him. Yeah, but at the same time you saw nothing wrong with Jack living with you under the same roof, doing the same with Katnappe and having this weird thing going on with Chase? That makes sense Omi xDD. So yeah, he was not a good choice for a shoku at all, I hope you also see that if u didn’t before 🙂🙃.

Why in my headcanon Raimundo is depressed after becoming a leader:

   Years ago I did get an idea to make Rai really, like heavy even depressed in the stories I was making in my head back then. I think that thought came to me while I was listening to some rap song about depression, and I did this thing when I tried to make a story that would match a song. And the rest is history, but it makes sense to me honestly, and I will explain everything below (disclaimer: I do not romanticize depression or anything related to that in this post, I know what depression feels like and I do not have any bad intentions making these. It's just a headcanon on a fictional story. If u struggle with depression, try seek help). So, Rai becomes a shoku warrior, a leader. That title is different than any other the monks have earned, and it belongs only to one of them. The ,,chosen one" from now on doesn’t walk WITH them, but must protect them and lead them (as the word " leader" says). As a leader you have to make decisions, sometimes very quickly, and those decisions can be very, very hard, and can have impact on the whole world. And your friends, that basically are your family at this point. How can you not feel pressure when you think about how you're responsible not only for the lives of 7 billion of people on this earth, but also about 3 lives of your friends? You have to protect them all at all times, at all cost. Even if the price is your life. And Rai knows that & he's thinking about it all the time, it 

consumes him. He's not the type of guy who thinks about his problems often, but he

feels like now, when he's a shoku, he CANNOT not think about it, you know? He constantly tries to predict what Heylin will come up with next, and tries to find a solution. He's ready to take a risk no matter what it is and what it might result with. He came to peace with a thought he probably at some point will have to dedicate his life for the sake of the world & his friends. He's ready for that, and the reason is he knows that if anything bad would happen to any of them: a bad, serious injury that is not curable or even a death - he would not survive that. He would simply, more likely sooner than later end his own life because of the guilt he would feel. It's better to sacrifice his one life, than lose two. That's how he sees that. But that's not the main part that makes him depressed. What really gets him is the fear. Fear that even tho he tries so hard- he will not be able to predict everything. To prevent everything. To save his friends lives and the lives of many people he doesn’t even know, but he's still responsible for. He feels like the world is on his shoulders, and it almost literally is. I mean he’s like what, 18 or 19 at that time? And his job is to protect basically the whole planet now. He did it for couple of years, yeah, but he did that along side of his

friends, they were all equal (besides when he wasn’t due to his betrayal but anyways) and they were in this together. Now they're also together in all of this, but he's kinda above - he's a leader. He has to lead, and they have to listen. That's a wild concept to him and them at the beginning, but after some time they all are used to it. But the pressure and the fear are always there with him. He's not sleeping much, hi's skin lost it’s colors, he's not so funny as he once were, and he even lost some weight. He reads a lot of scrolls, makes notes and writes plans "just in case" & "what if’s”. He helps his brother Cesar who now lives in the temple with him with his music career, so he's not having a time for himself in between this and saving a world. He does drugs to sleep, calm himself or get a buzz to be able to work & function when he's tired, or to help with his panic attacks & anxiety. The pressure is bad, his mood is bad... He's stressed and depressed. The rest of the monks, Master Fung, Dojo and the Heylin side knows this. The villains want to use it and his friends want to help him, but they don't know how. When they try to approach him and talk about it he always claims he’s “alright” and they don't have to worry about him. He has moments of doubt and he thinks about quitting and giving his title away or even…ending his life, but he doesn’t do that cuz he thinks it’s better if his life will be sacrificed for the sake of something rather than wasted and ended just because he’s in emotional pain. He suffers a lot, but after some time comes the cure - He finally starts to realize that he’s wasting his life by this mindset and it’s not who he ever imagined himself to be like. He always was the funny guy who got the best jokes, the “life of a party” guy, and now his miserable? And also - he’s not a god leader and he’s not capable of doing a good job at protecting his friends in that state. So he finally did seek help of his friends and a professional therapy. Then he has some sort of quick fling with Kimiko that didn't last too long,but it helped him with recovery. And then…Rapunzle comes in…🫢 But THAT is a story for a different post. 😏

When I am telling you Xiaolin Showdown had INSANE impact on my life, you are not capable of understanding how big it was and still is.

Example #1: When I was little I had a special dance routine I danced when the theme song was playing & one time my sister was watching me doing that through the key hole and she was ofc making fun of me for that xD

Example #2: To THIS DAY whenever I touch something at the same time someone else does I say "Gon gi tan pai!". If they know, they know. 🫡🤫

Example #3: There's no such a thing to me like four elements that includes "air" instead of wind. No. That's simply incorrect in my book and it doesn't make any sense either. It's wind that creates huricanes, sea storms, cyclones etc. Not clear air. We breathe with air and not wind, JEEZ 🙄.

Example #4:  I started to love Brazil and I was and still kind of am obsessed 😅. I was reading about it from my atlas book and I even have a brazil scarf in my room. Fun fact: My sister exchanged our local football club scarf for that xD 😂

Example #5:  In one episode that I dont remember which one it was, Clay said something like: "Did anyone saw our little genius and his flying witch?" (I translated it exactly how I remember it from the polish version) and I used this exact phrase when my sister and dad went somewhere together and my mom was laughing so hard at it xD She ofc later repeated that story to them and they were like 🤨🤨🤨

Exampe #6: Even my older sister who wasn't necessarily watching this show with me knew enough about it to answer "Omi" when I asked her who she thinks became a leader. That's how obsessed I was (and still am). 🩵

Guess who's back...Yeah, the girl who left her tumblr page for...I dont even know how long, without any sign or explanation. Heh, oh well...😅😬 It just happend, life is life and it has a lot of ways to surprise you, change you and what you do.
