So one day, when his dad is telling him about training plans and All Might and being the Number 1, he raises one little hand, shakes his head, and says in his most maturest of mature voices. "Hero society is a lie, and you're fighting in a fraudulent system dad that keeps oppressing the people it claims to save. I don't want any of that, so no thanks." And he keeps on eating.

Male author: Good good, because things are only getting better from here on out. Now we'll be introduced to this avarage Joe. He's our main character and he arrives at this kingdom, beats the queen in single combat and after she loses her kingdom to a evil warlord, saves her and in turn she falls deeply and madly in love with him, making him king and allows herself to become the humble, beautiful, sexy queen by his side.

Me: What the actual fu---

Male author: Of course he can't stay by her side because he is so amazing and knows how to rule kingdoms and fight wars and stuff (God knows where he learned any of that) so after he gets her pregnant he leaves to free this other nation from tyranny.

Me: Um..... so she rules her kingdom again right?

Male author: She tries but then she gets kidnapped and--

Me: What the--- You literally said she was great in combat. You said she never lost before!

Me: At the beginning of your book, this woman was the queen of her nation, was powerful, benevolent, had actual experience unlike avarage joe and never lost a fight. But the minute main guy was introduced she suddenly couldn't hold her own in battle, couldn't rule a kingdom, got herself kidnapped, lost her baby, got raped, thought she was a monster, got raped again and left in her abuser's home while crying for most of it. Forgive me but that's just toxic writing and sexism.

Male author [......]: You're just saying that because you're jealous of her beauty.

Oh imagine Hawks dad being let out of prison; because he served his time as he was only found guilty of felony robbery since the hero commision wanted to erase the fact he'd ever had a son so punishing him for abuse would have conflicted with that. Imagine Keigo learning about it because no matter how hard he pretends to have left his past in the past he still keeps an eye out and still wants to know and still.... and is still so so afraid of his dad. Imagine him learning that he'll be out and trying to not lose it because people are counting on him and he's a hero now so his dad can't hurt him, not anymore. He can't, he can't. Imagine Tokoyami noticing how off kilter his been lately and trying to be there for him and worrying himself sick because Takami-senpai is making more mistakes now than ever before and Tokoyami so worried and scared and something is wrong but he doesn't quite know what. Imagine Endeavour also knowing Hawks's father is now a free man and him contemplating letting Hawks know because it's better to know then not to know, right? But then wondering if it's better not to say anything at all and let bygones be bygones. And then wondering if it'll be better to just threaten the man to stay away from Keigo because there would be no hiding that his son is the number 2 hero and what if he tracked him down and confronted the kid and emotionally hurt him or something.... but Endeavour can't quite decide what to do because it all feels too real and it reminds him (painfully and correctly so) that him and Takami Keigo's dad aren't different. They aren't. In fact they are one and the same so who is he to step in and----- And imagine Keigo wanting to confide in someone, maybe Enji before it dawns on him, in a horribly jarring moment (on a regular day) that Todoroki Enji is not that different from his dad, in fact Todoroki Enji is........... and before he knows it he's curled into a ball under his desk, unable to breathe, clutching his Endeavour plushy because it's true isn't it, Endeavour is like his father but Endeavour also saved him from his father so what.... what was he supposed to think and...... Imagine Tokoyami finding him that way; Best Jeanist right behind him because Tokoyami being the smart kid he is realized he really really needed to enlist an adult's help here. Imagine everything falling apart for Takami Keigo and imagine him trying to pick up all the pieces like he's used to doing only for it to slip through his fingers because this is not something he can brush aside and walk away from anymore.
