Wrong definition of success
How can I be successful when I am stupid?
Ask me what I learn from school, and I will give you nothing; Ask me about useless information, I'll give you tons.
As far as I can remember, I never excel in anything: academic, sports, name it. I'm your typical average human being. But, imagination was my only weapon in this battleground filled with competent aliens.
How can I win this battle? Without sacrificing the treasures, I buried deep in my soul.
2020 taught me a lot of things — I could say it was my year: I didn't go to school, I'm proud of it; I watch TV 24-hours in eight months, I'm proud of it; I study a foreign language, I'm proud of it; I write a mediocre story, I'm proud of it; I take violin lessons, I'm proud of it; You're listening to my podcast, I'm proud of it; I started a Youtube channel, I'm proud of it.
You know It's all about doing things that fill your heart and soul with joy and excitement.
In the first week of twenty-twenty one, I realized that school only makes me feel dumb and depressed. It's not the right place where I can learn to live, neither to survive in the predator's hand of this society. I even asked myself, should I get a degree when the wisdom and knowledge are already in front of me?
In eight months of observing online learning, even when you get the degree that speaks to you, but a dreadful system will get you nowhere. I'm tired of seeing people on social media complaining about online learning is the source of their anxiety. We have the choice not to go to school; we should assess if it's worth it to invest our money in online education in this time of crisis!
No one will blame you for it. After all, in these difficult times, we share the same sufferings.
SCHOOL IS NOT THE ONLY PLACE WHERE YOU CAN LEARN.
Let's remove our habit of letting the authority tell us what to think or what we should do. We know that school is one of the places that suppress our creative minds. Don't just think outside the box, but also live outside the box; the outside world is much vast, larger place to learn.
"School is just a small sink. There are seas and other larger sinks, choose what you like" by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen.
You say, what if I quit school and I fail?
That's the thinking mostly every student has — afraid of failure. Part of it is not achieving the dream they're dreaming of ever since they begin to dream. An opinion of mine: people tend to spend a lot treating their pleasures when they're job failed to satisfy them.
If you're going to get a college degree, make sure that you're not choosing it just by the art of getting by in life.
Rancho in Three Idiots once said, "Cramming may get you past four years in college, but it will screw your next 40 years."
From my experience, if you're having a hard time choosing a college degree, because you know, not all of us right away can grasp what we aspire to be in life. It's alright to stop a year after you graduate in your eleventh grade — it will not do you any harm — this works for me so, maybe this will work for you too. But, I don't encourage you; you should assess your situation first — after all, the only one who can help you is you, and you alone.
Today is all we have. If we only think about our future, just like the past, that does not exist; we won't appreciate the little, big moments and opportunities that life has given us.
“Pursue excellence and success will chase you”
- Rancho, Three Idiots.
