Miraculous Ladybug Episode Naming Schemes

Okay! So, as we know, every episode of Season 1-4 had the name of the Akuma (or Sentimonster) and the only exception's to that rule were the episodes Ladybug and Chat Noir (Origins Part 1), and Mayura (Heroes Day Part 2) which were named after Miraculous holders

In season 5 this was changed to be related to Miraculous powers instead! (Keep in mind Reunion follows this naming scheme because the subplot of the episode was a Miraculous power)

There's also the possibility that season 6 may be named after each hero and while I'm about 99% sure that was faked, it's fair to mention it here since it's another naming scheme

Then of course, there's the fanfiction style of naming chapters which are usually a lot more poetic and mean something to the plot of the chapter rather than just the villain they fight

But I'm genuinely curious...

Friendly reminder that Chloé Bourgeois is based off a real person from TA's life and she wasn't a good person (his bully iirc) so TA wants to keep that narrative as a big fuck you to that person

This is only partially a joke because let's not forget that Chloé only started to get a redemption when TA wasn't a writer and instantly lost all development when he rejoined <3

Okay I can't be the only one who fully believes that she WAS and maybe even still is into Marinette (at least a little bit) because the way she's so happy when Adrien and Marinette huge her in Protection was not a normal platonic "I love my friends" it was a "two people who I love so much also love me and it makes me happy to have them in my life"

Like you can't tell me Kagami isn't at least A LITTLE into Marinette throughout the series??

Kagami's first friend (outside of Adrien but he doesn't count) is Marinette and she tried SO HARD to be her friend and was DEVASTED when she found out that Marinette didn't like her

Not to mentioned she was Kagami's ONLY friend until Perfection when everyone else gave her their numbers (not counting Lila but she doesn't count either)

Kagami was absolutely in love with Marinette and I will die on this hill

I'm rewatching season 5 of Miraculous because my life is in a tailspin and french childrens cartoons can fix that I'm sure, but anyway I just got to Determination and I can't help but feel we were truly robbed by not having Kagami even briefly be into Marinette. I like her w/ Felix just fine, but cmon how fucking funny would it have been to have all of her delightful intensity zeroed in directly on Adrien as a love rival.

We could have had the pettiest fencing match ever with the cattiest dialogue, smug looks over Marinette's shoulder at the other while they try to one-up the hell out of each other, Adrien doesn't even know why he's so sure he's gotta beat Kagami at this but goddamnit he will, and Marinette just thinks it's so nice to spend so much time with both of them blissfully unaware of the full-scale all out war being waged for her hand by two of the most maladapted teenagers in Paris IT COULD'VE BEEN GREAT 😩😩😩

I looked up Superboy's feats just to make this argument, and while Superboy is undeniably powerful (he straight up broke reality) Chat Blanc destroyed the moon ON ACCIDENT and nearly wiped out ALL TIMELINES from existence on a whim

So yeah, while Superboy Prime is an extremely powerful opponent, if Chat Blanc wanted to kill him, he would do so without a second thought

(Keep in mind: Ladybug only won because he cared for her, he has no reason to care for Superboy)

What Kwami's Look Like

The Kwami's are ancient magical beings and very often the fanbase (and at times the show) says that they are gods or god-adjacent (such as fairies or cherubs)

The Kwami's have two forms: their true form and a chibi form

When people redesign the Kwami's, I always see one of three things: either they look like they do in canon but with minor changes (such as Plagg having visible fur), they make them purely animalistic, so they act more like animal familiars, or they make them more closely akin to their "abstract concept" nature and make them more magical (I saw one where the Kwami's were literally abstract shapes)

Now my question is: if you had the chance to change (or not) any aspect of the Kwami's design, what part would you change?

I should also add that I do still plan to post art and stuff, I even finished Marinette and Ladybug's redesign artwork (which will go up sometime before the first official chapter) and I'll eventually add each piece of artwork to their backstory posts as well as a masterpost for all the artwork of the redesigns I do

Okay, so the redesigns (alongside the rewritten backstories) were supposed to go up this past Saturday, what I didn't account for was my mental health taking a toll and barely getting anything done

So with that said, I don't know WHEN the art will be posted but I know it WILL BE posted eventually

In the meantime, especially since I'm much more confident in my writing abilities than my drawing, I'm going to be posting the rewritten character backstories over the course of this month with the redesigns and just art in general coming later in the process

I know most wanted me to just wait until the art was done to post the backstories, and while I understand that perspective, I've never drawn to this caliber before and the dread of NEEDING to finish over 30 pieces of art (especially since ref sheets are my weakness) has been hard to create and I just haven't found any enjoyment out of what was supposed to be a fun project

This update was a little depressing but I want to make sure everyone understands that I'm just one person working on this for fun and sometimes I can't do what people want me to do

But on a lighter note, this DOES mean I'll be able to get all of the rewritten backstories up this month as they just need a bit of revision

My biggest pet peeves in the Miraculous fandom

For the record this isn't directed at anyone or anything in particular, just things I dislike that I've seen over the years in the fandom

When people use "Noir" instead of "Noire" when referring to Lady Noire or Kitty Noire

People not using the accented "e" for Chloé, Félix, Zoé, and Mylène (Also for Alya and Max's last names Césaire and Kanté)

When people don't use the proper naming conventions for Kim's full name, it's Lê Chiến Kim not anything else (I know in the English dub his name was changed but that's stupid)

Calling him "Cat" Noir instead of "Chat" Noir (His name is French and changing it to English feels weird)

When people claim Marinette isn't a bad person when she's committed ACTUAL crimes throughout the show (Theft, abuse of power, stalking, and invasion of privacy)

People spelling Nathalie and Nadja's name wrong

The super random hatred for Mylène?? (I've never seen a single valid reason for people's dislike of her)

Adrien bashing, specifically whenever he does something irrational and people insult him (He didn't have a proper childhood, of course he won't always react "correctly" in certain situations)

The Kagami/Luka bashing (specifically when they were first introduced because they "ruined" Adrienette)

People getting mad at Saltfics for bashing characters even though... they clicked on it (Seriously, if you don't like bashing why do you read them?)

As a follow up to this post (now that I'm a bit further into writing) I can confirm I'm going to use this for at least two of the heroes

A good chunk of the rewritten characters are queer and/or trans and two of their genders are fluid (Genderfluid and Bigender respectively) so for these two I'm giving them two designs each (at least that's the plan)

Feel free to try and guess which two characters they are!

Also don't feel shy about asking questions, I'd love to talk more about the characters rewritten sexualities/genders or just about the rewritten world in general

Gender-Changing Costume

Okay I had this idea while reading a genderfluid Adrien fic and I need to get it onto paper (well a tumblr post) so!

What if for people whose gender fluctuates would have their costume change representative of their gender that day? Because we know that their costume's represent who they are deep down, but what about the people see themself as something different everyday?

For example, what if a genderfluid Adrien is Chat Noir with his basic costume most of the time, but sometimes when she's feeling more feminine, her costume leans more like Kitty Noire or Lady Noire's costume

Or a bigender Marinette that switches between her basic costume and a more androgenous one for the days he's feelings less feminine

Or better yet! What about a gender non-confirming Luka who's costume switches between masculine, feminine, and androgenous every time they transform!

Okay so I may possibly make a few designs for my rewrite that follows this idea even though I'm probably gonna hate myself for it

The Chloé Vs Félix Double Standered

Chloé: *had a terrible upbringing which led her to be a bully and proceeded to help a terrorist because the only good person/role model in her life was a bitch*

The show/fans: SHES HORRIBLE!! SHES IRREDEEMABLE!! SHE DESERVED TO BE REPLACED!!! I HATE HER!!

Félix: *had a terrible upbringing which led him to be an anti-social jerk and actively aided a terrorist and the destruction of Paris for his own personal gain*

The show/fans: Hes a baby! He didnt mean it! He deserves to be a hero!

Do you guys see what I'm getting at here? The point of the matter is both of them are horrible people!

Chloé was a bully to try to win her mothers approval, and when the only other good role model in her life just tossed her off to the side with no regrade for her own emotions (especially because Ladybug was actively abusing her power and role as Ladybug) she decided to go to Hawk Moth because he was the one giving her what she wanted! Not to mention he's always been good at manipulating people, so OF COURSE Chloé is going to agree with him!

Félix was abused by his father and was only ever freed when he had died due to using the Peacock Miraculous. He then proceeded to actively HELP A TERRORIST for his own gain! Sure it was for a reason (to keep himself and Adrien safe) but he was the reason for someone to have a mental break, cause hundreds of people to be hurt emotionally and physically, and HE DID NOT CARE for the safety of an entire CITY! Thats not even mentioning the fact that he KILLED THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE!?!

Point is: If Chloé, a mentally and emotionally abused 14 year-old who only ever wanted to be loved, is irredeemable then so is Félix, given he didn't have a valid reason to betray Ladybug as if he truly wanted himself and Adrien to be safe, all he had to do was tell Ladybug who Shadow Moth was.

Don't get me wrong, I adore both of these characters, but if you claim Chloé can't be redeemed but will defend Félix, then you're holding them to a double standard. The same could be said the other way around.

I'm not saying that they both deserve to be thrown into the sun or both should just get off with only a slap on the wrist; but I AM saying that I hate seeing people claim one is better than the other when it's just not true.

The show either should've given Félix a proper punishment for not only aiding Shadow Moth but, and I cannot stress this enough, KILLING THE ENTIRE HUMAN RACE. Or they shouldn't have gotten rid of Chloé's character development.

On top of that, at least season 2/3 Chloé had SOME kind of character arc, Félix just kind of... existed? He didn't really prove himself to be better besides explaining why he did what he did. (Which, again, both he and Chloé don't have a valid excuse for what they did)

But anyway, small promo: In my rewrite Chloé's getting a redemption but she WILL face consequences for her actions and Félix will just not be that horrible of a person, so he doesn't technically need a redemption.

The Rewritten Lovesquare

Okay so with my changes to the characters personality's, the lovesquare is already MASSIVELY different and I've barely written 3 chapters and I have a plan for what to do with it as the story progresses

I feel like people mistake "I love Miraculous unironically" for "I think the shows bad, but I love it" even though most of the fans can look past the aspects of the show that may be "objectively" bad and just enjoy it for what it is

Miraculous is unironically one of my favorite shows of all time and I hate that people can't just take that statement at face value and try to undermine people who genuinely enjoy the show

Every time Buggachat makes a post to remind people that she enjoys the show in a non-ironic way and that she appreciates the show's writing, there are always people who write in the tags and comments, "Yes Buggachat you're right! We all know Miraculous is OBJECTIVELY bad but let us have some fun!"

Hmm... I think you've missed the point...
