Azul Ashengrotto probably cooks really well.

Like, duh, of course, he owns a cafe inspired in part because he takes after his mom who owns a restaurant.

But I mean more he's innovative and adaptable with his cooking.

Cooking styles on land and under the sea have to differ dramatically. Fire isn't an option underwater and even if it is available via magic, assuming Twisted Wonderland has similar physics to Earth, boiling water would rise to the top, preventing soups and other such dishes from being made and eaten in the same way we eat them on land.

An interesting solution to this would be to have pots and cauldrons for boiling water specifically built into ceilings so that the water can be heated and contained at once, but since most soups and stews contain denser materials, it still wouldn't work to make those. Don't make me think about oils, broths, and salt content...

Evidently, though, Azul was able to overcome the inherent differences between the cooking he was raised with and the cooking on land. Likely, this was something taught in the merfolk school they went to before NRC, but it is impressive that he and the twins were able to take the skills and build a restaurant with them.

Additionally, Azul is on a diet and diets can be really difficult to cook for, especially if working around restrictions. While I'm sure he has some unhealthy sense of "suffering = more positive effects" rattling around his brain, with 'healthy food' being his least favorite food, I can't imagine he'd want to sacrifice his comfort foods to eat something he finds gross. So instead, I feel like he would put the same passion that let him build a perfect study guide into learning to cook healthy food deliciously.

He'd probably both learn new dishes and adjust old ones to fit his new diet restrictions, which probably change from time to time. This reflects on his menu, which is neatly labeled to help people avoid gluten, dairy, or animal products. Once he has the hang of it, common allergens are next on the experimentation table. After all, how will he get more customers if they can't eat anything?

Overall, I just feel like with the number of hoops he's jumped through to eat good food on land, Azul would be really good at making new recipes for various occasions.

I had more thoughts than I initially expected on Azul's cooking, but I think I got most of the major ones out here.

I bet Lyney and Lynette hang out separately together all the time. Neither of them really want to be away from the other, but they don't have a joint activity they want to do together, so instead they just sit in the same room, knowing the other is there and available.

They include Freminet in their quiet afternoons as well.

Often, you'll find the three of them in the same room, Lyney playing with cards in one corner, Freminet reading a book in another, and Lynette drinking tea by the window. Sometimes they'll talk, but more often they're just there. Not really together, but definitely not apart.

[Minor Spy x Family season 1 spoilers in the form of character descriptions and mentions of a season 2 episode title]

I think Chikage would make a really funny Loid Forger.

Imagine him in charge of this small pink-haired telepath who lies about her age and reads his mind to finish a crossword puzzle.

Papa is a major liar indeed.

I'm convinced he would end up much like Twilight though. I mean, a different pink-haired person already captured his heart through grandsonly charm. As cold as he presents himself, Chikage is rather soft-hearted.

That won't stop him from being an absolute drill sergeant of a tutor towards his child though. After all, he can be very single-minded in regards to missions. At least, until the kid finds out that he is surprisingly easy to manipulate with a sad face. "One episode of 'Spy Wars'," he claims, not realizing that he has revealed his weakness.

At least he's also more than willing to break the rules, so while it would be nice if stellas could be earned naturally, a few adjusted tests and contrived situations to speed up the process are far from beneath him. Just as long as his new family isn't in danger.

However, the Forger-Utsuki's better have stomachs of steel. If he's still the only parent that cooks... *side eyes the spice cabinet*

I'm sure he's trained in non-spicy cooking, but whether he remembers the first time he cooks for someone besides himself is another question. He makes sure to keep milk stocked in the fridge now, after having to awkwardly comfort his new adoptee as they sobbed through the pain.

It's also funny to imagine Chikage shocked and fearing that he's losing his edge when an assass- office worker appears behind him without him noticing. And yet he somehow cones to the conclusion they are his best spousal candidate.

Let alone the concept of him living with a large, affectionate dog. Consider, the first part of episode 27 [BOND'S STRATEGY TO STAY ALIVE] with Chikage.

I just want him to suffer the same confusion that Loid does from applying normal person logic to his abnormal family.

An alternative I considered was Tenma, but that's my 4th-wall-breaker side kicking in. Though he does fit the fluster!

Random Azuma hair headcanons

Azuma's hair is simultaneously really satisfying to braid and an utter pain

Like, it's really smooth, beautiful to brush. But also, he moves too quickly and the hair tie slips, causing his hair to fall all over the place. Sometimes it's really attractive. Sometimes it's just a mess.

Azuma's hair looks really good with tinsel and thread

His hair color is just perfect for making other hues really pop and stand out. Plus, the glittery effect matches his fae-like vibe. Mankai Beauty love trying different combinations out to see which ones they like the best. A rainbow chrome tinsel that almost blends in with his natural color ranks high on the list.

Some roles require Azuma to have super neat hair or consistent updos and that means lots of hairspray

Like I said above, Azuma's hair texture makes it hard for accessories to stay in place. While readjusting is fine in casual settings, onstage is not necessarily the best place to be remaking a bun. Especially with Winter Troupe focusing on drama and tragedy, where the emotional beats are so prominent. Therefore, before most shows, Azuma can be found, hair done, Azami spraying it into place. Afterwards, he can be found in the shower, taking great care to gently ease his hair back to its natural state.

Azuma prefers ponytails to buns

While buns are often more practical for heavy action, keeping the hair up and out of the way more efficiently than ponytails, they aren't Azuma's favorite hairstyle. When done too tight, they can cause headaches, and besides that, Azuma actually finds the sensation of his hair length comforting. Ponytails allow him to feel the weight of his hair, while keeping it out of his face and way.

Azuma's hair smells amazing all the time

This is mostly a side effect of the various products he uses to take care of it, but Azuma's hair has a unique floral aroma that is a major part of his own iconic scent. It's very calming and a common thing for clients of his to comment on.

The main times Ayaka and Ayato see each other is in their morning practice times and late at night when Ayaka is saying goodnight

It really can't be helped, with both of them so busy taking care of the Kamisato Clan, they barely have time to visit their sibling

But they care in their own ways, mostly through Thoma

Ayato generally sends Thoma with Ayaka whenever she goes out because Thoma is someone he trust full heartedly

Ayaka often uses Thoma to fix her brother's bad habits, asking him to bring a snack for her brother every once in a while

While they don't spend much time together, they certainly do care a lot for each other

I figure this is widely accepted fanon, judging by the fanarts, but I really love modern!Kazuha in oversized sweatshirts and hoodies.

Think big enough to hold another person in. Or, even better in my opinion, big enough to smuggle cats various places.

Imagine sitting next to this quiet guy in class. It's just a normal day, when all of a sudden, you hear a small "Mrow".

You and him lock eyes, neither of you saying anything.

Then, he holds a finger up to his lips, unzips his sweatshirt slightly, and reveals the brightest eyed kitten you've ever seen.

He zips his sweatshirt back up and the two of you never discuss it again. (Not even when he whispers soothing words to his squirming clothes during your next exam)

Chongyun- Thinks it's nice and cool, I think he likes strawberry, little bit traumatized from the time Xiangling made ghost pepper boba

Ningguang- Has better drinks and probably prefers coffee or tea, but will get something like a royal jelly boba

Xiangling- Constantly makes her own, her favorite so far has candied slime condensate on top

Xinqiu- Gets cheese foam, no explanation, cheese foam

Yaoyao- I think she would like Red Bean Milk Tea, sweet and tasty

Xingyan- Passionfruit/hj she probably would like passionfruit or pineapple

Yanfei- Prefer warms things like hot cocoa or something, like coffee milk tea

Yunjin- Prefers tea, likes matcha and red bean

Keqing- Knows how to treat herself and gets a mango boba, with popping boba, and some pudding on top

Just for fun, I wanna over-analyze Sakyo and Kazunari both having black hair and glasses. [Mostly their glasses ^^;]

Like, I'm 99.99% sure that the writers didn't intend it this way, but the way they both were really normal people who felt the need to change themselves either for survival or a social life [which is its own sort of survival] and bleached their hair as a symbol of that change.

But also, if I wanted to go real conspiratorial, only one of them has kept their glasses, despite both being nearsighted and this could tie into how they see themselves.

Sakyo is a lot more introspective, he can see and understand himself well, even if he doesn't express it. That introspection can backfire though, like how glasses for nearsightedness can cause objects close by to become fuzzy and out of focus. Sakyo focuses inside too hard and ends up thinking he's too old to follow his passions, his flaws are insurmountable, and his dreams are just that until he gets pulled outside himself by Mankai.

Kazunari, on the other hand, cannot see himself clearly at all. Like Sakyo, he's insecure, but he's more likely to spiral with those insecurities. All his personality is based around context clues, the fuzzy image of who he wants to be and what the people around him want him to be, with the former drawing heavily on the latter.

At the same time, Kazunari, without his glasses, is really perceptive to the world around him and pretty clearly can read other people and their emotions [except regarding himself]. He's also more expressive, the window to his soul is more clearly visible. Sakyo sees the world through the filter of his glasses. A lot of his insecurities come from a [understandably] jaded view of the world and an inability to understand what others feel about him and how he fits into that outside world. He hides a lot more of his feelings and emotions behind that same filter, blocking others off.

Kazunari suffers from understanding the emotions without a clear understanding of the cause which he then attributes to himself [see: the way he knows how Summer might react to his decision about Misumi parkouring into his entrance] while Sakyo can understand those connections but doesn't necessarily pick up on all the emotions as intuitively [see: Sakyo understanding what motivates Azami, but only after recognizing that Azami is hurt, not just angry].

Did I just write multiple hundreds of words of utter nonsense? Yeah, I'm a fanfic writer, what do you expect?

But in all honesty, this was just for fun, so don't take it too seriously and I apologize for any character inaccuracies!

Everyone talks about Azul loving his octopot, but moray eels also love small crevices and holes.

So imagine octotrio hanging out as kids in tiny little caverns, with the twins dashing out to scare away (or bite [or squeeze]) anyone who dares to disturb their little hideaway.

Imagine the twins knocking on Azul's door, arms full of blankets and the three of them setting up a pillow fort, laying covers on the ground to mimic the soft bottom of the sea floor. Sometimes they burrow under the covers, sometimes they don't, but either way, the three of them huddle close together on the floor and bask in the familiarity. They work on homework or papers together or just hang out when the comforts of home sound particularly inviting.

A couple eels and an octopus in their makeshift cave.

For a little bit, my brain put "cuddle" instead of "huddle" and I like that one too.

🌊 Their relationship goes far beyond that of employer/employee and if anything happened to any of the others, they are ready to tear up the place, then say that it's all for good business. See: post-chapter 3 overblot

🌊 They'll still lie about it though. It's insane how on fire their pants are for mermen that were born underwater with no need for pants

🌊 I'm not sure if it was them or the teachers, but the three of them are in different classes (C, D, and E) and I bet it's because if you put them together in any combination, they are utterly chaotic

🌊 Azul and Jade? Absolutely insane in alchemy. Rook level concoctions, Jade just prodding Azul into his wildest ideas. Also, definitely talking smack about the other students and probably the teachers in some animal language or merfolk

🌊 Jade and Floyd? Utterly delighting in torturing their fellow students. We already see them in the cafeteria and around campus, imagine if they were allowed to do that, but with access to potions and condensed magical materials. Good luck to any classmates nearby!

🌊 Azul and Floyd? 50/50 chance between Floyd annoying Azul and it devolving into bickering in the back of the class and the two of them teaming up to be an honestly terrifying duo. They fight because if they had the full power of Azul's plans combined with Floyd's physical capabilities the world would be theirs in a week

🌊 I've seen various stories and headcanons about them cuddling and I want to add to that the idea of cold-blooded merfolk discovering warmth and enjoying sharing it with their brothers closest friends business partners

🌊 Following that thought, Floyd loves hugs and the other two secretly do too, much as Azul complains that he's messing up his work. Platonic squeezing

🌊 Not very found as this is literal family, but I bet Jade has contacts with shoe designers like in Vil's story because Floyd likes shoes

🌊 They comfort each other by suggesting activities the other likes. "Azul, would you like to try this business idea?" "Jade, here's this weird mushroom [ugh] I found. I think there're more behind the gym" "Floyd, I think I saw Heartslabyul C in breach of contract"

🌊 Just the three of them knowing each other in and out for purposes of both humoring and annoying each other
