So within two days of each other, Fox News writes an article comparing aromanticism and asexuality to pedophilia, and then Matt Walsh releases a video saying asexuality is a mental illness and asexuals are tricking teenagers into having depression.
Not sure what’s going on right now over in Conservative World, but it’s a hell of wild U-turn for them to suddenly switch from “Oh no! The left is sexualizing our children!” to “Oh no! The left is asexualizing our children!”

Like I'm all for trans people who don't care about passing bc you're valid no matter what you look like but personally I lost so much sense of style because if I go out in anything that could lower my chances of passing i ultimately do not ever want to leave the house again. I stopped talking for an hour at work yesterday bc I got misgendered. If you don't have that kind of dysphoria I'm happy for you, but remember that other people experience things differently and it's not all that easy.
its really annoying to me when someone says they want to look more masc so they can dress more feminine and everyones like "you can just do it now uwu nothings stopping you ^-^" some of us have dysphoria. thats like. pretty common in trans people. "why dont you just dress that way now" because i dont want to look like a cis woman or be perceived as a cis woman hope that helps

In my experience, any trans related discussions with cis people have an incredibly high risk of turning south. Being an ally is more than just accepting us as respectable human beings, but actually informing yourself on your own instead of making biased and harmful claims and then expecting trans people to educate you because "they're the ones having an issue with it". Having to explain the same simple concepts over and over to people who could just look it up has sent me into burnout regarding discussing my rights etc. Cis friends, do better.
Every time I have an actual discussion on trans healthcare with cis people I am reminded why I do not do this often

This isn't LGBTQ+ related but as someone with a shitload of sexual trauma I find the presence of all those bots and just overly sexual stuff in media disturbing. Like, no matter what platform I use and no matter how far away I try stay away from these types of posts, I always somehow stumble on porn. It's no surprise that kids these days are so easilx exposed to that kinda stuff. It makes me so angry. You know platforms COULD do something to stop sexual content being so easily accessible but they choose not to as they profit from it. And god, i hate it. Can we not just make separate apps for that with regulations to stop minors from accessing them? Similar like 18+ YouTube videos? All for people expressing their sexual freedom and more appreciation for sex work but if that is pushed onto me on every media platform I use without my consent (and reports doing NOTHING) then that's not the way to go.
Please tell me I'm not the only one hugely bothered by this.

It just hurts at this point. It hurts for all the small creators who simply want to put their creative ideas into action. For those who never saw themself on TV so they decided to change that. It hurts for all the young queer kids finding little to no representation. It hurts for all the grown queer people seeking comfort in kid shows that acknowledge their existence for even just a second. Networks truly hate us so much they don't even want to capitalise on us, even though they know just how desperate we are to finally have role models. But sure, let's continue this bland show with endless seasons largely catering to a cishet audience.
Remember when Steven Universe almost ended over Ruby and Sapphire’s wedding, but when the network understood how popular it was they continued the series for a movie and a spin-off?
And then She-ra was able to capitalize off of that success and get approved to have Adora and Catra kiss and end up together at the end of the series?
And then The Owl House was able to capitalize off of that success and was allowed to have Luz and Amity be canon love interests from season one?
And in the meantime there was show after show featuring queer main and side characters to rave reviews and success?
And we all thought, this is it. The domino effect is working. We’re making progress. And animation was the industry with the most and some of the best queer representation in all of visual media and it was only growing?
And then The Owl House got canceled with nothing to replace it. And Kipo and OK KO and Dead End and every other queer-inclusive show that had popped up in the meantime all ended quickly or were canceled with nothing new to fill their holes.
And now we have nothing left. And the trend that had been escalating for the past 10 years to create a golden age of queer animation has seemingly been shot dead with nothing to show for it.
Remember that?

Limiting the term "trans affirming care" to only surgery and hormones is an incredibly harmful view. It's so much more than that, as every trans person needs different adjustments. For some it's vocal changes like name and/or pronouns, for other's it's exterior changes, such as haircuts, clothing, even piercings and tattoos and of course surgery and HRT. No one experiences dysphoria the same way, so there's not a single way to care for it. Ask your trans friends and family for their needs and don't let the lies conservative media spreads influence the way you view our human rights. Every individual, no matter trans or not, requires different ways to treat the struggles they face.

It's almost as if the "norm" is an incredibly narrow-minded and toxic system and everyone would benefit from deconstructing these ideas of how people are supposed to behave based on nonsense factors like gender or sexuality. Just saying.
I love watching my bf, who had his queer awakening through me, become more and more comfortable within his identity, as he is learning that there's so much more outside the boxes society first puts us in.
