I might make this into a fanfic.

Just read DC's new Monkey Prince (it's great, of course it is, it's by Gene Luen Yang).

Apparently Darkseid attacked the Heavenly Realm at some point? All I'm saying, is he's lucky the Buddha didn't show up to give him the Sun Wukong treatment. Although Darkseid having to go on a Journey to the West-style road trip of enlightenment and character development would be hilarious.

During the fight Seymour's DNA had been alerted by A2.

But he doesn't realize this till a few weeks after the wedding.

It starts with leaves in his hair and cravings for meat.

He grows more plant parts over time but hides them as he is not sure how Audrey would react and is scared that he'll become A2.

Though when she does find out she is more concerned about his health as there isn't a lot of doctors for plants and makes sure that he knows that she still loves him.

He eventually learns how to control his new abilities and is able to pass as human for a while though changes into a plant when exhausted.

It was all there in her head. Her name, her birthday, her Mom's favourite song. It was just a couple hours that were missing from her memory, but those lost moments kept haunting her.

Seeing videos of yourself and not recognizing the person you see, is a horrible feeling.

When he woke up and only saw unfamiliar faces who seemed to know more about him than himself, it was no surprise that he freaked out.

The nurses had given her a new name and she had slowly started a new life. But one second ago, she was standing in the cereal aisle deciding what brand to pick, and the next moment someone calls her by a different name and it all comes back with the force of a truck hitting her on the highway.

If memories made us who we are, who are you when you lose them all?

when i was a teenager it felt very revolutionary to be cruel to myself. like some kind of slow passive protest against how much everything hurt. i starved myself of sleep and food and tenderness because it felt right. it felt sharp and angry and radical and i wanted to be those things. adulthood is the realisation that the world is already working to cut into you well before you learn how to do it yourself. caring for yourself and others is the real protest
