it is on hiatus in the sense that i haven't worked on it for months and once i release this update i don't know if i will continue with this game.

i miss everyone too! i have pretty much everything ready to go for the next update but i keep thinking there's no enough content or choices considering i have made everyone wait two whole years 😭

chengyi/changjie: 100% doodling on whatever they can find. sketches the people around them shopping and leaves the sketches lying around - slightly creeping out anyone who comes across them.

noel/noelle: has jumped in the trolly and is convincing L to push them around the whole place. definitely has sore legs after squishing themselves into the small trolly.

yuri/yaryna: do you think that they would turn down free food? of course not! they're taste testing all of the meatballs to the point where they have to be banned from eating any more. as revenge they would steal an item or five 😂.

lian/leilani: has been forced by N to push them around in the trolly, but they're not bothered - they just enjoy spending time with their friends. they will also take any opportunity to sit on the beds though because damn do their feet hurt from all the walking.

vinesh/varsha: not an option above, but they're having a meltdown in the bathroom aisle because they CANNOT contain the rest of the group. they came here for one thing and now one friend is shoplifting, another is drawing random people's profiles, the other is riding in the trolly and giggling like a child, and the last is pushing said trolly and sleeping.

i should change these to yearly updates because i think this is the first one of 2022, lol.

i've been focusing most of my attention on a "traditional" story that i hope i will be able to publish one day - you can follow my progress on my other blog @bury-the-butterflies.

however i've finally added like a third of chapter four to twine, and now i just need to sort out pronoun coding and we're away laughing

depending on how much brain power i have to code, i think the next demo update won't be too far away!! sorry for making you wait for so long :(

@ingenio-academy-if who MC gender is set as agender, love love the concept!

@jaunefleurwrites , ‘A world without you’. It really brings out the emotions, and I really loved that we played as a 'sick' MC, it made me view someone else's perspective, which helped me a lot to understand someone.

@scabiosa-if Monsters. Yeah. But for me it means to not “judge a book by its cover”, the appearance won't show how the character will act with you. It's like a box. You need to open it to see what truly is inside. Also @fell-star-if !!

@sinners-if Also is to ‘not judge a book by it's cover’. Yeah, Grey may be 'cold' at first, but that's totally normal in my opinion. You both are strangers, maybe more as time will pass, you'll get to know Grey and Grey will be able to know you. Everyone has a soft spot for somebody, but you need to earn that place, it isn't for granted, and can be easily lost. Unless you want Grey to go to prison LOL revenge!

@lilac-den where MC isn't good with people (kinda?). MC doesn't have many friends, and will have to learn to interact more with people. As an antisocial, I got easily obsessed reading this IF! Oli though is a good friend! Gives MC some advice to get lai-

chengyi/changjie: tries to make the child laugh, and when that fails, they cry with the child lol. there's only so much loud screaming they take before it stresses them out.

noel/noelle: ignores the child. they want children of their own eventually, when they're mature and ready, but for right now they are not fan of kids. especially random crying ones.

yuri/yaryna: ignores the child at first because hey kids will be kids, crying is kinda what they do, but will try to play with/distract it when their crying doesn't stop. will probably pull out their lighter and use the flame to entertain it, lol.

vinesh/varsha: is the reason the child is crying. they probably (inadvertently) glared or had a too-serious stare that freaked the kid out. oops, that's not their fault though.

lian/leilani: gives the parents instructions. their time running the shelter means, unfortunately, they've had to take a few kids under their wing before so they definitely know how to calm crying children down. will do it in the gentlest way too so it doesn't sound condescending.

IF is a lot of work and that's one thing i didn't consider when i started writing mine - just how long it would take to get through one scene because of all the different variables. that's what i'm loving about going back to "traditional" story writing, that i'm able to write pretty continously and fast!

i totally agree with you though, IF is so much more exciting and engaging for readers. massive props to all the work authors put into their games 🥳 can't wait to see what you decide to do with yours, vera!! 💙

yo yo, not-so-subtle self reblog time. this is the blog i've created for a traditional novel i've been slowly working on while editing WABR. there's not much on there yet but it's a big focus of mine rn, so i thought i'd share it here too to see if anyone was interested about it!

genre: low fantasy young adult

themes: familial/platonic love, reluctant hero, growing up, finding oneself, moral parsimony, the butterfly effect, actions vs consequences, lots of bees and a little less butterflies

status: outlining/first draft

estimated word count: 60,000

when piram gallego, teenage son of a botanist living in flor selva, discovers he can talk to butterflies, he is reluctantly determined to save the dying species. but nature appears to be a stubbornly immovable force, which causes our young protagonist to question the morality of sacrificing one group of individuals for the greater good.
