Still Subject To Change Chapter 11 (NEW)

Hello everyone! i decided to repost arc 1 of SSTC
(the chapters were way too long and had a bunch of typos but hopefully this will make reading easier)
this Story contains Vore, Dont like dont read.
if there are still any grammatical errors i’m sorry.

My brain decided to toss away any possible answer I could have given away at the sight of this…man? But luckily Rikaad had an idea how to respond.
“Alright that’s very impressive, are you the one that lives here? If so we are sorry to intrude we do not mean to and will leave as soon as we figure out the direction we need to go in”
Oakley cocked his head to the side and I noticed his eyes were a piercing shade of yellow, like those of a hawk and I couldn’t help but feel uneasy looking into them.
“Where are you going? I might know the way, and you are welcome to stay for a bit especially since it’s been forever that i have talked to someone who didn’t throw stuff at me”
He was right, he lived here after all and knew the area better than us so just asking might be the easiest way and the invitation didn’t sound too bad either.
But we did not know this guy, he could be dangerous and thus far we hadn’t even seen what the entirety of him looked like.
I noticed that his gaze had suddenly fallen onto the cursed bracelet on my arm and was watching it intensely with his striking yellow eyes.
“Ohh you found it! I’ve been looking everywhere for this trinket after someone stole it a few years ago!”
He suddenly pushed the cloak behind him and swooped out of the tree and I could see that he did not have arms, instead there was a pair of leathery wings in the same color as his skin flapping to keep him in the air.
Having something akin to a giant bat suddenly swan diving to my face I instinctively put my arms up to shield myself.
For a moment nothing happened but suddenly I could feel the bracelet being stripped away, but no pain, it seemed that he had managed to get it off somehow without hurting me.
“HEY! WHAT THE HELL”
He had flown to sit on the tall stump, the bracelet was held in his tail by wrapping it around the trinket and he perched there like a content Magpie.
It took a few more seconds for his words to register in my brain but before I could say anything the others had already responded, with Arthur shouting loudly.
“YOU MEAN THAT’S YOURS?”
And Robin making a worried face while Rikaad seemed to calculate the best way to not fuck things up.
But Arthur had a point, if it was his he could probably fix the curse! I had expected to shrink as soon as the bracelet was off but that wasn’t the case apparently.
I Wasn’t sure if he actually knew how to lift the curse, But asking if he could help wouldn’t hurt.
“If that is yours” I pointed at the trinket “can you fix this curse then?”
He seemed confused at my question so I decided to elaborate.
“This thing turned me into a giant and i would like to be normal again”
For a moment he seemed to actually listen before I heard a strange chattering sound and it took me a few seconds to realize that it was him laughing.
“HEKHEKHEKHEK, that’s not a curse! It works as intended! It’s not my fault you don’t know how to use it! Which is weird, seeing as you are Ardua you should know.”
I understood exactly nothing of what he had just said, what did he mean this wasn’t a curse?
He had called me an Ardua twice now, whatever that meant, and why should I know how to use it? I’ve never seen such a thing before this month.
Apparently Robin agreed with my thinking as he asked.
“What’s an Ardua? And what do you mean it’s not a curse?”
I had no idea what that word meant, but if it was just another word for Bastard I would punch something, preferably Oakley.
Oakley however just stared at me with an incredulous expression, like he couldn’t believe that I had absolutely zero idea what he was talking about.
“You ARE Ardua how do you not know? If you weren’t the bracelet would have killed you the moment you put it on your arm”
Well that was not reassuring at all, and I still had no idea what he was talking about aside from apparently being a specific race of elf? Well half elf.
The others looked at me weirdly and I grimaced at them, as if I Had any idea what was going on! I didn’t understand jackshit either.
The birdlike man once again cocked his head to the side and then walked over the top of the stump where he stood sidewards like gravity didn’t really affect him.
Weird fucker but i wanted answers so i was at least going to listen for now.
“Since apparently I know nothing about this, could you maybe explain it? I’m sick of not knowing what the fuck is going on with me right now”
He turned his head weirdly and winked me closer.
I very reluctantly got slowly closer glancing back at my fellow travelers who also looked a bit mistrusting, a tiny bit curious but still wary.
“Hold out your hand i’m going to put the bracelet back and show you”
I wasn’t sure whether i trusted him or not but so far he hadn’t hurt any of us and he seemed to know something about it so it might be my chance to go back to normal.
“Wait just one second”
Ignoring his confused gaze I scratched all over the area where the Trinket had been as I wasn’t able to do that for some time now and it had started to get annoying.
Slowly holding my arm out he put the Bracelet back over my wrist where it once again shrank until it fit perfectly against my skin.
For a few seconds nothing happened then Oakley swiped his tail over the gems and I suddenly had the feeling of falling forward.
Trying to catch myself I put my hands out in front of me just as I landed on the grass, but something was wrong.
Somehow I did not feel bipedal anymore, and looking back to my human companions I could see various stages of shock and disbelief on their faces.
There was silence for a few seconds before Robin shouted with gleaming eyes.
“KITTY!”
What.
Looking down on myself I could see paws where my hands should be, and even worse was that they were covered in green fur and looking at my back showed that there was even more fur on my new now quadrupedal form with a tail swishing behind it.
What. The. Fuck.
There even were some plants growing on my fur covered back which made even less sense.
“Oakley what did you do??? Turn me back! This isn’t normal”
The man in question just stared at me with a huge grin on his face and started flapping around me like an oversized bat.
“Come on, just because you didn’t know anything about it doesn’t mean it’s not normal, but i’m not really surprised you know nothing about it i had believed the Ardua to be extinct”
I could see out of the corner of my eye that Rikaad had sent Arthur and Robin to get a bit away and was now aiming his crossbow at the flying form of Oakley.
However with the way he was flying it was impossible to get a clear shot, at least not without also hitting me.
“I don’t care! I just want things to go back to normal! Give me my human form back!”
Though, did I REALLY want things to go back to normal?
After all, the time I had been a giant I had been the least lonely since basically forever.
But i still preferred having hands as the lack of them made it difficult to catch the flying fucker and swiping with paws just wasn’t working well.
So not being able to use my hands I instead snapped at him with my teeth missing him barely and causing him to cackle again.
“HEKHEKHEKHEK see? You already fit your new form! Let’s see if you can catch me!”
He was now flying even faster around me and acting like an annoying bat so I snapped at him again, making my teeth clack against each other.
“rrrRRRRRrrrrr get down here you fucker!”
He was flying higher so I tried to jump but missed again, temporarily forgetting about the humans I had come with as I tried to get Oakley out of the sky.
Surprisingly the four legged form wasn’t that hard to control and I could move just as well as when I had been a half human half elf.
At some point Oakley landed on the tree stump and stood sideways on the wood like gravity did not bother him at all, two of his toes bent back to grip the bark.
He kept out of reach from Rikaads crossbow too, smart fucker.
“Look, you are the only one that thinks this is funny but I hate it! Can you please turn me back? This sucks and i miss having thumbs”
Oakley stopped grinning and walked down sidewards the length of the stump reminding me of how crabs moved.
This guy just got weirder and weirder but at least he seemed done with his bullshit for now as he moved near the bracelet again.
For the first time I could really see him up close and noticed that his wings had three fingers on top with only two being long and having a membrane for flying as well as that his knees were bent with what seemed to be an elongated ankle.
He Swiped his tail over the bracelet and I had once again the feeling of falling, but only this time I really did fall, on my face.
Due to being a four legged creature before I fell face first into the dirt, but now I was human sized again.
Finally! I was back to normal! And looking up at Oakley he had cocked his head again, probably wondering why I was still lying on the floor.
“I gotta teach you how to use that thing, this is just stupid how come you don’t know anything about it?”
Oakleys weird energetic behavior was gone for a moment but before I could respond anything I was yanked off the ground into a hug, startling me badly as I wasn’t used to interacting with something my size anymore.
My brain froze up for a moment before I registered a red mop of messy hair next to my face burying into my shoulder.
The one that had yanked me into a hug was Robin and I hugged back after a few seconds, still a bit out of the loop.
I was touching someone my own size! This was awesome!
And Robin interacting with me like this meant that we were friends, right?
I hadn’t really allowed myself to consider the three humans as friends before, I had been a Giant after all and as such couldn’t go near any city ever again.
Being back at human size i noticed that Everything looked weird now, like it was too big as i had gotten used to everything being smaller than me but i couldn’t complain.
I was back to normal after what felt like the longest week and a half or so of my life and I was able to actually do mundane stuff again!
Someone patted my back and tried to yank both me and Robin into a standing position and I had to let go to avoid falling over again.
Looking directly and face to face into Arthur’s eyes was weird, and awkward considering what had happened three days before so I turned around to talk to Robin only to see Rikaad.
He was taller than me now.
And I had definitely been right in being scared of him.
He was rather buff, not overtly so that it would restrict his range of motion but I was sure he could throw me pretty far.
Also looking up at someone was strange and seeing those icy gray eyes up close did not make it better as they seemed even more intimidating now.
“Are you alright? That was… weird, especially that green creature you turned into for a bit”
At least Rikaad was friendly even now but I agreed that it was weird.
“I’m fine, really it’s just weird being small again everything seems… bigger”
It was a lame answer, I knew that but my mind was still reeling with the fact that I was back to normal so I didn’t care if my answers made sense.
“How did you turn into that green thing? I’ve never seen such a thing before”
Arthur had a point, apparently this weird bracelet could do more than turn me into a giant and Oakley knew how, I probably should ask him how and besides, it was his anyway and I should give it back.
“Can you turn into the green kitty again? It looked soft”
I looked at Robin confusedly, why would he call that green beast i had temporarily become a kitty?.
“What on that green thing looked like a cat to you???”
“It had paws and a fuzzy tail, also your ears flicked funnily”
That wasn’t really enough reason to call it a ‘kitty’ though, but as long as he wasn’t scared of it I wouldn’t correct him.
And it was probably time to give the trinket back to Oakley, he’d be glad to have it back, After all, it had been stolen for long enough that the corpse of the thief had rotted to the bones.
“I should probably give this back to Oakley now, it’s his after all”
I tapped the metal accessory to show what I meant.
Rikaad leaned over, ending up sort of looming over us and I tried not to be bothered by the fact that I wasn’t the tallest anymore.
“He did mention that it belongs to him, so i Believe returning it to its rightful owner is the best thing to do”
I nodded at them and turned to walk over to Oakley who was once again standing Sidewards on the stump.
This man did not care for Gravity huh.
Ignoring that he seemed to take offense to the existence of gravity, I went over to him again to return the trinket to its owner.
Glancing back for a second the few meters I had already walked, I saw Arthur ruffling Robin’s ginger locks and Rikaad smiling at them.
I wondered if I could have such things too?
I was back to normal now, but my normal still contained the fact that I was a Bastard and not wanted in any of the Kingdoms.
Ignoring those thoughts for now I held the arm with the Bracelet out to Oakley, I still didn’t know how to get it off myself after all and needed his help to get it off my wrist.
He reached for it but then seemed to have a different idea.
“Keep it”
I was baffled, he’d just give me an enchanted…whatever…Bracelet? But he said that it was his.
Why would he give it to me now? A Bastard of all things.
Apparently my stare showed my confusion as he smiled at me.
“I cant use it, if i where to put it on i would die from incompatible magics, also it doesn’t fit over my wings, and i really don’t know how i would even wear it so giving it to the only one i’ve ever seen that actually CAN use it is the best decision here”
I stared numbly at the weird… fae? Whatever he was he seemed to be an alright guy if a bit of an annoyance at times.
But I did need to know how to use it, even if it was an awesome gift it would be useless if I didn’t know how it worked.
“Thank you! But uhh, how do I use it? You moved too fast to see what you did so can you show me?”
He stood up straighter adding at least an inch to his height and tilted his head to the left before nodding.
“Ah yes it would be smart if you actually knew how to use it, after all it won’t be of much help if you don't”
He walked a few steps away from the stump, probably to avoid damaging it should I grow and I followed suit, glancing behind me for a second.
The Humans were talking among themselves but repeatedly looking over at me, probably out of concern and I gave them a thumbs up to signify that all was well before turning back to Oakley.
“So, first off that’s not a curse but rather a genetically tied Enchantment for Beings that are called Ardua, and you can only use it if you are a descendant from one of the original otherwise you just die”
“So I could have died back then??? Why would anyone design it like this???”
He shrugged.
“Defense mechanism is my best guess but i’m not all knowing, so let’s continue”
I nodded numbly, A defense mechanism did make sense so he was probably right.
“I have never seen an Ardua in person before, only drawings in various scriptures some of which were as detailed as having entire biological sketches but that’s not important, well unless you need a doctor because your organs are kinda nonsense to humans”
Well I was very aware of that.
“I get what you mean i know my anatomy is kinda fucked, besides i cant go to any human doctor anyway they’d kill me”
He looked a bit concerned but continued anyway.
“That’s horrible but moving on to the matter at hand, to change between form you should take a good look at the embedded gems”
Holding my arm up to my face to inspect the gems closer, The only thing I could see for now were the five inlaid green gems.
I didn’t even know what type of gemstone they were let alone how they would help me shift into a giant or that green thing Oakley had called an Ardua.
The five gems were spaced rather evenly with three forming a single line down between the ornaments from top to bottom and two more stuck between even more of the big ornament to the sides.
I didn’t really see what I was supposed to do, press them like buttons?
Trying that didn’t work so I looked back at Oakley for help.
“You have to turn the gems, like a gear and the direction decides what form you are going to take”
He put his hands on the magic trinket and slowly turned the darkest green gem at the top of the three row counterclockwise.
Before I could react I had grown back into a Giant at about the same speed he had turned the Gem.
“YO WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?”
Looking behind me I could see my human companions looking confused and Arthur had apparently been the one that shouted as his hands were still half raised to form a speaker over his mouth.
“I’m fine! Oakley is showing me how this thing works, don’t worry!”
I waved the arm with the bracelet to show what I meant.
They seemed to calm down a bit at that and went back to listen to whatever Robin was Rambling about, frequently turning to check on me.
Turning my attention back to Oakley i Bent down so he could reach the Bracelet again.
“Try turning it in the opposite direction as long as it’s the same gem you are fine”
Taking his advice I slowly turned the dark green gem in a clockwise rotation until I couldn’t turn it any further, and after about a second shrank again to my normal height.
“Oh this is actually pretty awesome! How do I turn into the green thing?”
A huge smile had plastered onto Oakleys face and I could see two sharp fangs poking out, even longer and sharper than mine.
“You turn the other one, the one at the bottom, it works just like the top one”
That made sense, but what function did the other gems have?
“What do the other gems do? Don’t tell me this thing has MORE forms to turn into”
“No it doesn’t have more forms than that, the two gems on the sides are for stabilization if i read correctly and the Rhombus shaped one should be the one that draws in power from the environment so it is usable”
Man, this guy knew a lot about this even if he had said that he’d never seen one in person.
Deciding not to question it for my own sanity I tested the Ardua form out again by turning the lighter green gem on the bottom.
After a second I was back in the Four legged form of the Green beast that Robin had called a Kitty.
The form itself wasn’t so bad actually, i felt like i suddenly had more muscles, probably to support the Quadrupedal form.
Now that I had a bit more time to inspect this form, I gave myself a lookover.
I had sturdy legs that were like everything else covered in thick green fur, paws that had sharp looking white claws and i knew i had to be careful with those as well as a fuzzy tail with a tuft of lighter green fur at the end and for whatever reason there were literal plants growing on my back.
The plants were mainly Daisies and Dandelions but had a few violets and lots of other plants strewn in, most of which I recognized as edible or at least not poisonous.
“Why do i have-”
“ it’s earth element magic so i’m not surprised about the plants, It’s even funnier when you realize that it lets you photosynthesize like one too”
“Photo-what?“
The word seemed familiar, Like Id heard it before, Then it clicked.
"Wait, you mean because I’m like a plant I don’t need to eat? That would explain why i never felt hungry”
He nodded, affirming my thoughts and I had to admit never having to eat was absolutely great! I wouldn’t have to steal food ever again!
“Just remember to drink enough, don’t want you drying out do we?”
I nodded as things made a lot more sense now where before that was only confusion.
And now I know how to use it! That was awesome! It meant that I could switch between forms whenever I wanted! I could-
I still couldn’t go back to Kamerasca.
It was only logical really, I was still a bastard and being able to turn into a green monster wouldn’t help to show that I was as much of a person as everyone else there.
I doubted that the three humans I had befriended could do anything about it as they weren’t even full Guards yet.
“Oi what’s got you down so suddenly?”
Oakley had apparently sensed that something was wrong as he tilted his head again reminding me of a bird.
“I just remembered that I can’t really go back to…. any Kingdom really, I’m still an unwanted bastard and they would probably kill me on sight if not worse, but i don’t want to roam the woods like some mindless beast either”
Oakley wasn’t human either so he would probably understand, After all, he lived all the way out here on the mountain.
“Ah I see, yeah humans do that, they don’t understand something and immediately stamp it as a bad thing that has to get rid off, i’ve seen it countless times so if that’s the problem you could live here? Some company would be nice”
I looked around the clearing that he lived in, it was a nice place and he had an actual house so I wouldn’t have to sleep in a cave or something and it was protected by the woods and mountainside.
a good place really.
But I couldn’t leave the humans to go back on their own, what if more beasts appeared? So far the manticores hadn’t been that hard to get rid off, I had just kicked them across the map but they were smaller than most monsters so defending themselves was going to be a challenge.
Oakleys offer was good, very good even but I had promised to get them back so I would do that.
I could still come back here later after I had brought them to Kamerasca.

I shifted a bit so he could see it and pointed to the pale mark on the back of my shoulder blades illuminated by the red fire, giving it a strange orange glow.
“How did you get that one??? What happened?”
He was back to his blubbery old self, damaged tooth forgotten for now at the sight of the pale line on my back.
“Well one time a guard almost got me, but i was a bit faster than him, and as i turned a corner i was suddenly bleeding from my back, Then I looked over my shoulder and apparently that guy just fucking threw his sword at me”
“Wait what? that's so dumb though, why would anyone throw their weapon like this?”
I shook my head at him as i didn't know why someone would do that either, it was a bad idea really, Why risk losing an expensive weapon?
But that was in the past and didn't matter now, I was just glad that I had no other lasting damage other than the scar.
“Whatever, it's late we should sleep like Rikaad said”
I shifted a bit over to flatter ground and flicked some rocks away so I could lay there without having sharp things poke me all the time.
Shifting to lay on my side and facing the fire I settled down for sleep.
Feeling something move at my chest area I looked down to see Robin curling up next to my thorax, probably trying to steal some warmth.
He looked like a kitten next to me and curling up like this didn't help to get rid of the mental image, so I just left him lying there and put my arm as a barrier between the forest and him.
Having him die while he was lying next to me would be rather traumatizing, not to mention if something were to get this close it would probably try to kill me too.
Settling down completely on the ground I closed my eyes and fell asleep basically trying to get as much sleep as I could before I had to take my watch shift.
Having expected to be woken up in the middle of the night by Rikaad to watch the camp i was surprised to find that when i awoke it was already morning.
I looked around confusedly and the first thing i saw was Robin still curled up next to me and fast asleep, The second thing I saw was Rikaad sitting next to my shirt and fiddling with the fabric, what was he doing?
“Rikaad? Why are you messing with my shirt? I only have one you better not destroy it”
I was still a bit sleepy and with Robin half leaning half lying on me I didn't want to move.
“I am not messing with it, i'm just repairing small holes so they don't tear”
He spoke quietly and focused back on his task.
It was weird, this was one of the nicest things anyone had ever done for me, so I better never tell him that I stole it from a clothesline a few months ago.
I was still a bit befuddled at the fact that i hadn't been woken up for a watch shift but looking closer at Rikaad he had bags under his eyes but somehow still moved like a man wide awake.
“Have you slept? Nobody woke me up for my shift watching, don't tell me you were awake the entire night”
He shook his head and continued patching up my shirt.
“I couldn't, not with Arthur still back there, so i started doing this instead, but i do hope that we can come up with a plan to get Arthur back today”
Now I felt a bit guilty, I knew Arthur wasn't captive anymore and actually fine if probably quite disgusted at what had happened.
I was glad that today we would backtrack a tiny bit and meet him somewhere in the woods.
I really hoped he would never tell anyone that i ate him but i couldn't realistically expect that it would stay a secret forever.
So bringing them back to Kamerasca and then leaving would be the best option as much as being alone again pained me.
“Done, try seeing if the stitches hold when you put it on”
He held a corner of the cloth in my direction and I tried to take it without waking Robin who was still snuggled up to me.
Sadly I was unsuccessful and he woke up, blinking owlishly against the morning light and flopping onto his back.
“Ugh, morning”
While Robin complained about the sun I put my newly fixed shirt back on and was happy to find that all the tears were expertly fixed, even the ones I had tried fixing had been redone.
He really was surprisingly good at this, Robin hadn't been kidding.
Standing up I just put some dirt over the still smoldering remains of the fire, I didn't want to cause a forest fire after all.
“So what is the plan? Just backtrack and see what we can do?”
Rikaad stood up and put his sewing supplies away.
“Ideally we will know what to do before we get there, but yes for now we backtrack and try to figure it out on the way”
Robin immediately came up to me, looking at me with wide eyes, holding his arms up as a signal that he wanted to be picked up again.
Obliging, I cupped him to my chest and started to walk after Rikaad the way we came from yesterday, all the while on the lookout for Arthur.
I could hear Rikaad quietly mumbling to himself, likely trying to come up with a plan even if I knew it was unnecessary.
He didn't know that Arthur was fine after all, and I couldn't tell him, but he'd see soon enough that Arthur was fine.
I hoped.
There was the possibility that he had gotten lost in the dark or been attacked by another manticore.
Shaking such thoughts out of my head I continued to trail after the dark haired human in front of me.
It was funny, his almost black hair and well toned skin let him blend in near perfectly into his surroundings.
I was really glad that he chose not to kill me when we first met, which is also another reason why I couldn't tell him about the pouch.
I was worried he'd change his mind on letting me live, I somehow didn't doubt he'd actually find a way to end me.
Lazily walking through the underbrush after him I kept my eyes open for any sign of Arthur, or worse.
I wasn't sure that the Maringand Guard had given up yet on following us and I hoped I didn't have to find out.
Hearing something snap up ahead my muscles tensed, ready to defend myself before hearing a loud shout.
“FUCK”
That was Arthur's voice!
He was right up ahead and yelling at something.
I hoped he wasn't in trouble but before I could react Rikaad had already pelted over the ground in the direction of Arthur, hands on his sword.
“Rikaad wait! Donovan let's go!”
Robin tugged at my shirt and pointed after Rikaad and I followed a bit more cautiously, what if some of the Guards did follow us this deep into the forest?
But actually seeing Arthur was a relief, even if he had somehow managed to get seriously stuck in a thornbush and was hitting it loudly swearing with a stick.
Rikaad had already begun helping him untangle and I set Robin down who immediately tried to help too.
“ARTHUR! Are you okay? How did you get away? How did you end up in a bunch of thorns?”
Robin was babbling excitedly again while worrying for his friend.
While they tried to get him out of the thorns by shoving all of them aside I decided to pick him up, lifting him out of the thorns, and he was clinging to my fingers as he dangled over the prickly bushes.
“FUCKING- i hate plants im going to set this green hell on fire one day!”
Setting him down in front of the other two he was immediately tackled into a hug by Robin.
He looked a bit miserable, like he hadn't slept at all and being stuck in a bush didn't do him any favors whatsoever if the countless bleeding scratches were any indication.
“Im fine, im fine stop fretting about me! I just want to get as far away as possible from THAT place so can we move along now?”
He really didn't seem pleased at all and very tired, more so than Rikaad.
“How did you escape? Or did they let you go? What happened?”
Now Rikaad was the one asking questions and I nervously glanced at Arthur.
Robin however did look at me with a puzzled expression and then back at Arthur.
I twitched nervously, I hadn't taken into account that Robin could also tell about it, but when he looked back at me he winked and put a finger over his mouth.
Looking back at Arthur he was fishing some leaves out of his hair and then looked back at Rikaad.
“I escaped through sewers and no i'm not going to elaborate, it was horrible enough already lets just go”
He walked past Rikaad with his shoulders hunched over and a miserably tired expression.
Baffled Rikaad went after him and I followed, scooping Robin back into my palms and holding him against my torso.
“Arthur? You look tired, maybe you should rest? I could carry you if you want?”
At my offer he looked up at me with tired eyes seemingly taking some time to comprehend what I had said before he shook his head.
“I'm fine, I can walk by myself, let's just go as far away as possible, okay?”
He continued stubbornly walking away from Maringand and was heading towards the mountains.
Weird, I had thought we had given up on going there, well the others at least.
It was still my plan to go there after I had dropped the small humans off at Kamerasca.
The thought of being alone again hurt more and more with each passing day but I continued to ignore it, there wasn't anything I could do about it anyway.
Following him and Rikaad I made sure to not hit my head on any of the tree branches that were getting denser the closer we got to the mountains.
“Donovan? Do you think he's okay?”
Robin whispered from my hands trying to get as close to my ears as possible without falling over.
“I think so? he said he was at least, i'm sure hes just tired and grumpy, you said yourself he's a grumpy man so i think he's okay”
He didn't look entirely convinced but sat back down into my palms, lounging lazily against my fingers and watching the ground beneath him.
“So wait a second, Where do we go now exactly? I thought we would be going back home and not to the mountains?”
Robin did have a point in that, I wasn't sure what route exactly the others wanted to go but I was pretty sure that Kamerasca wasn't in that direction.
“Well since we don't really know where we are and which direction to go to it might actually be a good idea going somewhere higher up to plan a new route, lest we end up in a different part of Maringand instead of Kamerasca”
Rikaad admitting that we were kind of lost wasn't what I expected to hear, but at least he was honest about it.
“So we are going to go higher up and see if we can find the way home like that? Are you sure about that? I thought the mountains were dangerous?”
Robin was now clinging to my fingers again, he was probably a bit scared of the mountains from all the rumors there were in Kamerasca about them.
“It'll be fine if something does show up i'll just kick it as hard as i can”
I tried to reassure him while still trailing after Arthur and Rikaad.
Rikaad was trying to get Arthur to stop for a second so he could assess his wounds, which consisted of multiple scratches and a possibly broken nose.
Arthur ignored it and just kept stomping forward and I sort of expected him to collapse at any moment now.
It was weird, for him to be this tired he really must have been awake the entire night and who knew how long he had been stuck in those thorns.
Rikaad suddenly turned to me motioning for me to lean down.
“Can you help me for a second? I want to make sure all those scratches are clean, we can't risk an infection out here and he is being stubborn, so could you pick him up for a bit?”
Nodding and setting Robin next to him on the ground I went over to Arthur and Picked him up.
Immediately he began weakly cursing and tried to kick my fingers, sitting down next to Rikaad I held the angrily twitching form of Arthur in front of him.
“Calm down, I just want to make sure those cuts don't get infected, you said yourself you escaped through sewers right? I don't think a river bath is going to get rid of all of the nastiness from that so keep still and let us help”
Arthur went still at this, seemingly only now realizing that the story he had told would mean that he had crawled through some Nasty stuff.
“Ugh fine but i still want to put as many miles between myself and Maringand, at least i didn't have to swim in that stuff so just get it over with”
He went limp and I carefully set him on the ground where we apparently now made an impromptu camp in the middle of the day.
Robin somehow had found a lot of dry branches and was putting them together in a heap to make a fire while Rikaad pulled a metal cup from somewhere and instructed Robin to go fill it with water at the river.
While Robin did that Rikaad inspected Arthur's broken nose and dabbed the dirt away with a small Piece of cloth, much to the protest of Arthur who flinched every time it touched his nose.
I feel kind of useless right now.
I was too big to properly help while Robin could go get water and Rikaad was able to take care of Arthur's wounds, and I was just sitting here next to them completely unable to do anything helpful.
It sucked, it was really dumb that I had been struck by this stupid curse, and it felt more and more tempting to just try and yank it off even if I destroyed my hand in the process.
But there was no guarantee that just ripping it off my wrist with force would actually break the curse.
I might just stay a giant, but then with only one working hand which Honestly was even worse.
Since I couldn't help the smaller men I instead went to be on the lookout for anything that would come near us.
At least i could help by making sure no uninvited beings showed up, The last we needed right now was another Manticore thinking it could snatch up a human.
Luckily the only thing that came from the forest was Robin with the water which he put on the fire Rikaad had made in the meantime.
Seeing them move as a unit like this to help Arthur I felt kind of…jealous? No that wasn't it, it wasn't jealousy more like..envy.
I envied them for the fact that they had someone to rely on when they needed it, and I envied them for not having to be alone all the time.
I envied them for being human with human friends, something I could never have as a Bastard.
I hated myself for being the son of an Elven man and Human woman.
I sort of wished that my mother had never met the pointy eared man that promised her the world, and then ditched her as soon as he could when he found out that she was pregnant.
Well, lamenting about a past I couldn't change wasn't going to help anything, and at least my mother stuck around as long as she could before dying of typhoid.
Watching the small men patch up Arthur was even a bit endearing, they did their best with whatever supplies they had while Arthur looked close to nodding off after probably spending the entire night awake.
After some time they had patched him up as god as they could and put all of their stuff away.
Leaning down again after they were finally done I put my hand down on the ground as I was sure Robin would want to be carried again.
But instead of Robin climbing on Rikaad dragged a tired looking Arthur over to me.
“Does the offer of carrying him still stand? I think he might fall asleep standing up at this point”
I nodded and very carefully let Rikaad drag the at this point half asleep Arthur into my hands.
He really must have not slept at all since i had sent him off downstream, Rikaad hadn't either but he seemed to be fine aside from some darker circles under his eyes, he really was the scariest out of the three.
Cupping the tired form of the small human closer to my chest I started walking after the other two small men again.
The mountains did look a lot closer now than before our Capture and I hoped once there we could see which way to take to get them back to Kamerasca.
Until then though I would do my best to be helpful, and for now that meant carrying a sleepy and bruised Arthur while the other two led the way.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was now two days after we escaped from Maringand and Arthur had almost completely healed aside from a slightly crooked nose and the obvious bruising.
He also had kept his word about not telling Rikaad about how he actually escaped, which I was glad about.
We had gotten a lot closer to the mountain in the time we had walked even if i still thought that if i carried all of them it would have been faster but so far the only one that had never actually willingly climbed into my hands was Rikaad, and he made no sign of ever wanting to do that.
It was fine that he didn’t, I just wish walking after them didn't feel so awfully slow.
It did make sense that i was able to walk a lot faster than they were seeing as my legs were taller than them, none of the humans even reached up to my knees.
At the very least we were now very close to the mountains and I could see Wyrmhurst mountain in front of me, only a few minutes walk away and I realized for the first time how steep it actually was.
I marveled at the fact that something Steeper than a barn roof didn't just collapse in itself, which also presented the question how the fuck anyone was supposed to climb this thing.
The narrow woods surrounding us weren't any help either as I got stuck more and more often in the branches as the trees got bigger the farther we traveled and Rikaad had to patch my shirt twice now.
In short, this sucked, a lot.
We probably would have to go around it a bit to see if there were any less dangerous places to climb.
But maybe we got lucky and the first place we found was at least somewhat climbable.
Expecting either more Forest or just a wall of stone, I was surprised that we suddenly emerged in a little clearing that had a big Oak Tree stump that went up to be over my head, and surprisingly an askew hut that had been directly embedded into the cliffside of the mountain.
Judging by the smoke coming out of one of the three chimneys it was even inhabited.
“Who the fuck would live out here of all things?”
Arthur had apparently seen the smoke too, and I did have to give him right on this, This was out in a Forest that was widely regarded as dangerous and deadly as proven by the fact that I had to fight off at least three more manticores in the two days we had traveled.
At least most of the Wildlife left us alone due to my size but it was still annoying, and mosquitoes did not care how big I was so they were the major annoyance anyway.
But it was still strange why someone would live out here of all places.
“No idea maybe they got banished or something, i think we should just leave it alone”
I really didn't want to mess with someone that had survived out here, human sized no less as indicated by the hut.
If someone could survive out here they probably had a lot of skill and I wanted to keep my hide intact a bit longer.
I didn't want to walk backwards in case one of the humans was right behind me so instead I turned my head around to scout the area, Rikaad doing the same, trying to figure out where to go to not intrude in this place.
Suddenly I heard an unknown voice from somewhere above me and I looked around to locate it.
“What do we have here? Humans? This far out and traveling with an Ardua no less, how strange”
I could not find where the voice was coming from, it sounded like it was above me somewhere between two big trees and I hoped that I was still the only giant here.
I didn't know if I could fend off an actual one and I'd rather not test that.
And what the hell was the voice even talking about? The human comment made sense but the rest not so much.
Feeling Robin hide behind my leg I decided to respond to the voice and see if it was hostile or not.
“Who are you? What do you mean by that? And where are you? I don't like talking to disembodied voices”
The other two humans had also shifted to stand closer to me, likely not wanting to suddenly find themselves face to face with a possibly hostile being.
“You can call me Oakley, and I'm right here, you have to look up to the tree young Ardua, i'm right in front of you on one of the branches”
Hearing the voice who introduced itself as Oakley say that they were in the tree in front of me, I tried my best to actually find them, but I couldn't make out anything.
It seemed even the others couldn't see anything either judging by Robin's reaction.
“I can't see anything? Are you sure that you are there? Or are you messing with us?”
“Look again”
This time I could actually make something out, but only because it was moving, having blended in perfectly before due to standing absolutely still.
The figure that showed itself was wearing a dark green patterned cloak that hid most of their other features.
But I could make out the Pointiest ears I had ever seen poking out from between hair that had the color of oak bark, and strangely bent legs with weird birdlike feet that had two of their toes bent backwards to grip the branch the figure was sitting on better.
After a second I could also make out a sort of tail swaying behind them that was split into two at the last part showing that their skin was the color of Stripped oak wood.
If they had not moved I would never have been able to tell that they were there.

Still Subject to Change Chapter 9 (NEW)
——————————————————————————-
Hello everyone! i decided to repost arc 1 of SSTC
(the chapters were way too long and had a bunch of typos but hopefully this will make reading easier)
this Story contains Vore, Dont like dont read.
if there are still any grammatical errors i'm sorry.
——————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Seeing the forest come closer I was actually relieved to finally be out of here and looked over my shoulder to see that the tower really was built to keep big Monsters in there with its thick walls and embedded spikes.
I shuddered and hoped I would never see this thing again, so turning back I instead focused on the treeline and not stepping on anyone.
Yep, still weird to think about that I could end someone's life with a single misstep and I tried not to think about it, and instead just drag my feet over the ground so that if someone were to be there they'd get toppled over and not squished under me.
Reaching the Forest's edge I assumed that they would let us go now, but it seemed we were still too close to their Kingdom so we had to walk into the forest even further.
I didn't dare speak out of fear that they would shoot me, but Robin seemed to have no such concerns.
“When are we there? I want to talk to Donovan, also where's Arthur?”
I tensed at his last Question accidentally squishing Arthur a tiny bit making him move more than before and I hurried to hold my breath and cut off his air supply, however that worked.
He stopped moving after a few seconds but this sure had been a scare, if he had woken up and someone noticed it we would have been fucked.
I still felt incredibly guilty but it couldn't be helped, I just hoped he'd understand.
I almost missed the guy's answer as I was busy holding my breath and my attention was focused more… inwards.
“Oh you can talk to your big friend later ALLLLLL you want as for this Arthur guy? He's been taken care of don't worry”
I did Not like the condescending tone the Guard had used but I couldn't really do anything about it which frustrated me even more.
At least Rikaad was able to step between them and shot a death glare at the offending guard who actually backed up a bit.
We continued walking in silence, safe for the Guards communicating amongst themselves.
I could feel Arthur lying limply against my insides, only moving occasionally and sending a thrill up my nervous system whenever he made a bigger movement.
I tried to Ignore it but since he was literally inside me that was near impossible, and I couldn't help but worry about the feeling.
What if that's what the Bracelet made me do? What if one day it urged me to eat someone for real?
Shoving these thoughts down I instead focused on the road so I wouldn't trip, and I could see that the tower was a bit further away now.
I really hoped they would just let us be already but it seemed that we were still too close to the Kingdom for their comfort.
At this point we had already passed the spot where I got shot at and were led even deeper into the woods towards the mountain.
Coming to a bigger clearing they ushered Robin and Rikaad to be in the center and threw both of them a bag, probably their own stuff judging by the clunking sound of metal.
The Guards still surrounded me, but I wanted them to go away already so I could talk to Robin and try to find a spot where I could let Arthur out so Rikaad wouldn't see it.
Arthur himself was still peacefully asleep, courtesy of a low oxygen environment and had thankfully not woken up during all of this.
But I did dread the part where he would, I didn't know how he would react and it scared me.
I also had to fight to keep my hand from settling over the warm lump in my core so as to not give away anything to the Guards.
The Guards walked around me to stand at the treeline of the small clearing, I didn't move as I really didn't want to step on someone.
Suddenly a Horse came up with an ironclad knight on its back.
The rider removed the helmet and i could see that it was the king, nobody else i knew had such a monobrow.
Did he follow us? I immediately became worried, Would he tell the others that I ate Arthur? I hoped not.
The guards all stood in a line next to him with their crossbows loaded.
I had a bad feeling about this and I was proven right as the king suddenly had a wicked grin on his face.
“SOLDIER! AIM! SHOOT THE BEAST! I WILL NOT TOLERATE SUCH A MONSTER NEAR MY KINGDOM!”
Aa all the Guards suddenly aimed their crossbows at me.
I didn't even wait to see what they would do and Instead turned to run in the opposite direction, snatching up Robin and Rikaad as I did so and getting the hell away from there as fast as I could.
Ignoring Rikaads surprised shout i just ran towards the mountains to bring as much distance between us and Maringand as possible making sure to not drop either of them.
Feeling Arthur start to move again I held my breath once more hoping that he'd fall back asleep even with all the movement.
It took longer than before and sprinting while not breathing made my lungs burn but after about three minutes he was still again.
I really hoped none of the others had noticed him squirming but glancing down while running showed that Rikaad was focused on the way we came, probably looking for any pursuers and Robin was just Clinging to my fingers.
I ran until I could no more, occasionally holding my breath to prevent Arthur from waking up.
I didn't really know how long I had been running but as I looked back I could not see the tower anymore and it was well after midday.
I sank to my knees gently letting Robin and Rikaad to the ground while I panted, my lungs burned from running and holding my breath and I did my best to calm down as fast as possible.
I did not want Arthur to wake up now from all this, not now at least.
I was still trying to figure out how to handle this and having him wake up now would be extremely awkward.
Rikaad seemed to stand Guard and looked in the direction we came from.
“We should continue after you rested, then we can figure out what happened to Arthur and how to get him back”
Ah fuck i really needed to make a plan.
Looking at Robin instead to make sure he was alright too and I didn't grab him too harshly I saw him staring at me, or more specifically my middle.
While I sat there I had unconsciously put a hand over my Pouch where Arthur lay and I yanked it back, looking at Robin and putting a finger over my lips to tell him to never say a word about it.
He nodded but still tilted his head at me with curious look in his eyes, i would tell him later what had happened, when I got the chance to do that without Rikaad listening in.
Being hunched over like this made the weight in my core just a lot more prominent as Arthur was lying on what was previously the front wall.
Getting up again and holding my breath anew even if I still felt like I needed more time to rest.
And feeling Arthur slide around in my pouch when I was hunched over was a bit weird.
I wanted to go as far away as possible as fast as possible from that place so I forced myself to continue on.
“Alright let's go i want to never go near that hellhole again we can worry about Arthur when i'm sure i wont get shot again”
I slowly stood up and went to walk even more towards the mountain.
I was glad that riding on horseback through the woods was not a good idea, otherwise we'd have to worry about that too right now.
Holding my breath again I went in the direction of the mountains in a straight line, not like there were any roads here anyway.
Robin scrambled after me and Rikaad started to walk faster too to keep up.
“It is going to be dark soon we should look for a campsite if possible”
At Rikaads words i looked around, it was indeed getting darker, How long had i been running?
No matter right now I needed to get Arthur out without the others or at least Rikaad noticing and I still didn't have a plan on how to do that.
So we ended up setting up a temporary camp near a river, still far enough to not be able to see said river but close enough to get water, and I felt extremely awkward the entire time.
I had their Friend within me for fucks sake! And the only one that didn't know was Rikaad at this point.
It didn't help that I had to fight with myself to keep my hands from straying to settle onto my middle.
If Rikaad did notice my odd behavior he didn't say anything about it luckily.
I kept frequently holding my breath to make sure Artur did not wake up and hoped to God that this wouldn't give him brain damage from the low oxygen he had been exposed to for some time now.
The Dark came as soon as we managed to light a fire, The crackling sounds provided a soothing white noise and I finally got an idea as I saw in the glinting light how dirty my legs had become.
And not just my legs, everything about me was dusty and on some spots downright caked in dried or fresh mud.
So I stood up and on the other two confused looks told them what I was going to do.
“I'm going to wash myself in the river, stay here i don't want any of you seeing me without clothing”
Robin looked a bit confused at first but then nodded, motioning a thumbs up, he'd been weirdly quiet since the capture.
I would talk to him later to make sure he was alright but for now I had other things to deal with.
Rikaad just made a dismissive hand motion and instead focused on the fire so I left to go a good bit downstream, away from where they could hear or see me.
I went a good bit further than that to make sure that even if it got loud they wouldn't notice, which took about five minutes to walk.
I had stopped holding my breath while walking and I could feel Arthur start to move again as I took deep breaths to supply him with fresh air.
The movements were confused at first, then a curious hand prodded my insides before he went still again, not unconscious, more like a stiff weight that held itself and it seemed like he was terrified of moving.
I even heard him say.
“Oh fuck”
I finally allowed myself to put a hand on my abdomen and poked at him, receiving a surprised noise in response.
“Arthur? Are you okay?”
He shifted confusedly for a second before answering.
“What? You ate me, why would you ask that?”
He seemed still a bit groggy so I would do one thing after the other for now.
“I didn't really eat you, but can you tell me if you're okay?”
I was a bit worried over the fact that I had essentially kept him in a low air environment and hoped I didn't damage his brain or something.
“What do you mean by that? And uh… well i Feel fine? wait-”
He started shifting a lot and I had to bite back a pleased hum at the feeling of having my insides rubbed, I didn't want to scare him after all.
“What the FUCK! Donovan, what the hell is going on?!”
He suddenly was a lot more energetic, seemingly having figured out that he'd been in there for some time now and was still okay.
So best to finally explain this…chaos.
“First off you're fine! And you will stay fine! You're not in my stomach okay?”
“Where the hell am I then? You fucking ate me!”
Well there was the anger, but now I knew that beneath that anger was fear, so I would try my best to reassure him.
“You are in my pouch not my stomach, basically i have some of my organs doubled but not all of them work so you're fine and nothing will happen to you in there”
He seemed to freeze at my words, likely trying to comprehend what I just told him.
Then I felt an indignant kick against my insides.
“WHY THE FUCK DIDN’T YOU TELL ME THIS SOONER!”
Now he really was angry instead of afraid and I sighed.
“I literally couldn't! Not with that Monobrow guy listening in! He would have killed us both!
Besides You said it yourself that you couldn't act to save your life! I'm sorry that I had to do this but it's better than death isn't it?”
He seemed to calm down at my words, probably realizing that I was right.
“So wait, are we still in the tower or why are you suddenly talking to me? And how did you manage to keep me asleep during all of this???”
At least those two questions were easy to answer but I hoped he wouldn't get angry again at hearing that I had deprived him of air.
“We are not in the tower anymore, i got us as far away as possible when we got out, as for keeping you asleep well uh- I just held my breath so you'd get less air?”
He didn't kick or punch me, instead he just flopped backwards against the walls of my pouch.
“You know what, okay why not? Are at least Robin and Rikaad okay? Wait, do they know I'm in here?”
I decided to try and answer the questions in the order I heard them.
“The others are okay, they are at out camp a bit away and no the don't know where you are, at least Rikaad doesn't, and i'd appreciate it if you'd never tell them about this, i'm not keen on getting stabbed by Rikaad to be honest”
He shifted again a bit and I had to suppress another delighted hum.
“So if we are away from the tower can you let me out? No offense but i don't like this and i never want to repeat it”
Walking a bit into the stream after chucking my shoes onto a boulder to keep them dry while he talked I could understand that he didn't want to do this ever again, so as long as he promised to not tell anyone I'd let him out as soon as possible.
“Of course I'll let you out just give me a sec, also can you promise me to never tell Rikaad about this? I'll help you come up with a believable cover story if you want”
Coming up with something would probably be difficult as he admitted to being a bad actor, so something simple would have to do.
Feeling him move again to sit up I walked even deeper into the widest part of the river, but the water still didn't go over my entire legs so I just stood there in the calves deep water listening for his answer.
“Yeah sure, i even swear on God to not tell Rikaad unless you tell me to, now get me out of here”
“Alright… try to go limp… i'm going to get you out now”
I felt a squirm of confirmation as I pressed in with my hand, and tensed up as I forced my body to throw up the form in my pouch.
Feeling something travel the wrong way up your esophagus wasn't by any means pleasant but I was used to it by now from the years of hiding valuables in there.
It wasn't long until I felt the cursing form of Arthur reenter my mouth and I plucked him out with two fingers, dangling him over the river in the pale moonlight.
“Fucking hell! How long was I in there? And set me down already! I hate this!”
I couldn't really set him down right now as I stood in the middle of the river and he would get swept away by the cool water that flowed around my legs so I instead cupped him in my hands.
He was a lot less slimy than I thought he'd be but still needed a wash to get rid of the bit of slime that did cling to him.
“One second, unless you want me to dump you in the river, also how are you? Are you okay?”
I walked back towards the riverbank so I could set him down.
“I've seen better days to be honest, and i'm sorry for what my uncle did to you guys”
Setting him down slowly onto the rocky dirt covered shore I went to wring out the hem of my shirt that had gotten wet when I bent over to get Arthur out before what he said registered in my brain.
“That Was Your Uncle??? What? Wait a sec, if that guy is your uncle then-”
He interrupted me before I could say another word.
“Yes my dad was the King, but frankly i didn't really know him aside from when i had to stand at his side during some stupid events, and no i'm not sad that he's dead i never cared about being some stupid royalty, at least i wasn't inbred like some of my other relatives”
He seemed to shudder at the last bit and not entirely from the cold.
“I thought Winton had told you who i am, ah fuck, how about you don't tell anyone about my royalty status and i keep quiet about the pouch thing okay?”
This did seem like a good deal but one thing confused me.
“Deal! Though, Who the fuck is Winton? Is that the monobrow guy? Don't tell me That ugly fuck is your uncle”
He flopped over into the mud of the riverbank groaning.
“Yes he is, i like to pretend that he's not though, i hate him”
That was completely understandable, I had only been around that guy for about a day and I already despised him as much as physically possible, and Arthur had to live with that for who knew how long.
Though now we needed to come up with a reason as to why Arthur wasn't kept captive anymore.
“So, any idea for a cover story? You know Maringand better than me”
He flopped onto his back in the dirt sighing.
“I'll just tell them i escaped through the sewers, as disgusting as it is it's believable enough and they probably won't ask for details”
That sounded good enough, I knew I wouldn't ask how someone crawled through a sewer, or at least not expect them to answer it.
“So can we go back now? I want to actually see Robin and Rikaad again”
That would be nice, but suddenly coming back with Arthur might be a bit suspicious, there was no way he would have kept up with us, especially since he had way shorter legs than I did and I had done an Adrenaline fueled sprint away from Maringand.
“Not a good idea, you suddenly turning up this fast is going to raise questions so maybe not today, ehh Night i mean”
It would be even better if he backtracked a bit so when Rikaad would usher us back to get him we'd ‘meet’ him on the way.
“Maybe even backtrack a bit? Rikaad is going to go back to get you anyway so if you go back a bit we meet you there and it's more believable”
He slowly sat up, now having mud stuck to the back of his shirt and put a hand over his face.
“Yeah that is a plan, not one im looking forward to but im not going to admit that i was eaten and didn't even do anything to stop you, that's just awkward and kinda embarrassing”
At least he shared my view on that point, so I went to sit next to him in the mud.
I would wash that anyway so I wasn't concerned with getting it even dirtier.
“Well you better get moving then, you have to go downstream and a bit to the right”
I pointed to where he had to go and he slowly stood up and started walking, even if his legs seemed to be moving a bit weirdly, they probably fell asleep in the time he didn't use them.
I was right in my guess as Arthur actually did comment on it.
“Dude my legs are wonky, how long was I in there? no wait don't answer I don't wanna know that, see you and the others tomorrow?”
The last part went an octave higher and I could clearly see that he was worried but did not want to show it.
Instead he started to walk through the woods and I hoped that I hadn't just made a mistake, After all, the woods were still dangerous and now he was unarmed.
I REALLY hoped I hadn't made an irreversible error but he was already out of sight so I went back to striding into the river, planning to finally get all the dirt out of my shirt and pants.
The cool water felt Pleasant against my sore legs and while I just let the stream wash away the mud on my pants I took my shirt off and swirled it in the water a few times to get everything out.
Dragging the now heavier shirt out of the water i wrung it out a few times before realizing that if i put it on again i'd likely get a cold or something, So the shirt had to stay off until it was dried.
Ah Fuck.
That ment i had to go back to the camp shirtless and try to dry it against the comparatively small fire we had.
I hoped no one would take offense to the fact that my top half was naked, but knowing Robin he'd more likely ask about my scars than complain about me missing my shirt.
Standing on the riverbank I wrung out my pants as best as I could while wearing them and slipped my shoes back on as I started to walk back, trying all the while to wring out my shirt as best as I could so it would dry faster.
I returned to a happily flickering fire and saw Rikaad inspecting Robin's face, apparently checking for bruises.
I realized with a pang that I might be too big to see small injuries, at least Rikaad was here to assess them.
Upon hearing me come back two heads simultaneously looked at me but Rikaad went back to checking Robin over who grinned at me.
Something was wrong with his teeth but I couldn't figure out what, I was too far away and probably too big too.
I sat next to the fire and put my shirt as close as I dared, I didn't want it catching on fire after all, then gave a worried look over to Robin.
“Are you alright? You've been weirdly quiet since we left Maringand”
He motioned for me to get closer and I bent down to be more at eye level for him.
He showed off his teeth and I finally saw what was wrong, The tooth behind his left canine had a small piece missing making his canine appear far more pronounced, like a fang.
No wonder he's been so quiet that must have been painful.
“How did that happen? Are you okay? Does it hurt?”
He shook his head, making his messy ginger hair bounce around his skull.
“I'm fine, one of the Maringand Guards told me to shut up and hit my teeth, but that aside where did your shirt go??”
I was glad he seemed to be okay and gestured vaguely to the shirt lying next to the fire.
“I'm letting it dry before putting it back on, not keen on catching a cold out here”
Out of the corner of my eye I saw Rikaad nodding.
“A good idea, though we should rest soon i will take first watch”
He did have a point in that, we really should sleep soon and i could put my shirt back on tomorrow as embarrassing as them seeing my scars was i wouldn't risk a sickness right now.
“Is that where your kidney is missing?”
I flinched a bit at the question, it seemed Robin had come closer as I stared into the Flames of the campfire and was looking at the pale line of scar tissue at my side.
“Yeah it is, i'm glad i punched that guy when i did or had have killed me for sure”
He seemed to stare at it a bit longer before his gaze became that glazed over look again for half a minute.
He snapped out of it and shook his head.
“You have any more scars? You don't have to tell me though!”
Well I did have a few more but most of them were from mundane stuff like falling off a tree or climbing into small spaces, though there was a long thin line across my back doing shoulder to shoulder that I received from a blade.

A loud voice called out, one I recognized it as the guy with the bushy eyebrows.
“BEAST! STAY WHERE YOU ARE OR YOU WILL BE SHOT! WITH POISON!
AND YOU! ARTHUR SELWYN! CLIMB ONTO THE PLATFORM OR YOU WILL BE SHOT!
Oh I did NOT like this guy! If I had anything to throw at him I would! But I wasn't sure if the consequences would be worth it.
Also the only thing i could throw were my shoes as everything else had been stripped away from me and i did not want to lose my only pair of shoes, finding new ones would be impossible at my new size.
As for Arthur, he waited till the wooden platform was lowered to the ground completely before climbing on and looking back at me one last time, his eyes glazed over with such an intense fear like I had never seen before as he was lifted up again.
As soon as he got up to the level of the balcony at least six guards apprehended him once again and dragged him out of sight.
I heard a door slam shut and assumed that I was alone again, until I heard that awful nasally voice again.
“BEAST! WHY HAVE YOU NOT KILLED THE SON OF THE TRAITOR? I SPECIFICALLY ORDERED IT! I EXPECT THAT THE NEXT TIME HE IS THROWN IN YOU KILL HIM!”
Despite having only had a few interactions with this guy i absolutely Loathed him with all my being and hoped plague would fall upon him.
And why did he think I would do what he said? Just because he had trapped me in this ugly pit didn't mean I would suddenly heed his words.
“Why would I do that? He hasn't done anything to me personally, and besides you're the one keeping my friends captive! How do I know you won't just kill all of us as soon as Arthur is dead?”
The face of the man turned a bit redder in indignancy, but otherwise he didn't dare come closer.
Coward.
“BEAST! HOW ABOUT A DEAL? I WILL LET YOU AND THE OTHER TWO CAPTIVES LEAVE THE KINGDOM AS LONG AS YOU KILL ARTHUR! THAT IS A GOOD DEAL TRUST ME”
I did anything but trust this loud bitch, but maybe i could find a way to get all of us out? This guy expected me to kill Arthur, even threatened me with starvation.
But bushy brows over there didn't know about my strange anatomy, no one aside from Robin did, so maybe I could put Arthur inside and let them think I actually ate him.
This plan was so batshit insane that it might just work! The only problem was that Arthur didn't know either and would think I was going to kill him for real.
I wouldn't even be able to tell him in case someone listened in, Besides he himself had said that he was a terrible actor so i made up my mind, as much as i hated it.
Now I only had to get Bushy brows to actually keep his word.
He didn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed so I hoped it would be easy.
“Alright, fine! But you have to swear on every river of hell AND the God Amesimos that you will let us go! Or that a hundred years of plague shall fall upon yourself! Also you will not tell the others about it EVER!”
I slowly stood up while speaking and watched with glee as his face went pale, probably seeing for the first time how big I actually was.
“BEAST! YOUR DEMANDS WILL BE MET AS LONG AS YOU KILL ARTHUR, THAT I SWEAR BY EVERY RIVER FLOWING THROUGH HELL AND BY THE GLORIOUS GOD AMESIMOS ITSELF! AS LONG AS YOU NEVER RETURN AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN ESCORTED OUT OF COURSE!”
He probably thought he had a gotcha moment with his last addon, but why the fuck would i ever come back here? I knew I would be killed on sight then.
“So we have a deal then? Good you can send Arthur back i guess”
I felt absolutely sick at how his face lit up with a sick sort of glee as I had agreed, and I kind of hoped he would fall over the railing and break his neck.
I was almost relieved when his ugly mug vanished from my sight, but he returned a bit later with about twenty guards and a beaten up Arthur.
It seemed that during the short conversation I had with bushy brows they had had their ‘fun’ with him as I could make out a black eye and a split eyebrow.
At least it didn't seem like they had struck the wound in his side again, rather that they had concentrated on his face as was evident by his broken nose that bled a little onto his shirt staining it even more red.
I winced in sympathy and realized if I had not agreed to this insane plan they would just have beaten him to death.
They threw him roughly onto the platform that they had used to get him up and started to let him down again, at the last fourth however someone cut the rope and made him plummet the last of the way down with a yelp.
He didn't seem to have been further injured as far as i could tell but i still went over to check.
“I'm okay… i think, everything hurts anyway so no difference really”
He got slowly up to face me and in an attempt to seem less intimidating I sat on the ground with my legs crossed as he slowly got up.
“How's your nose? Doesn't look pleasant to be honest”
I tried to stall for some time as I didn't know if I should tell him I was going to ‘eat’ him or not, but the disgusting gaze of the man with the monobrow was still burning into my back.
“It's fine, just a bit of pain, did they want anything from you?”
He wiped the blood off as best as he could and I noticed that he was swaying a bit while standing, did they give him a concussion? I hoped not.
But at least he seemed to have enough brains to ask questions, and I decided to answer as honestly as I could.
“Well obviously they wanted me to kill you, they even offered me a deal”
At my words he went still and looked up at me with a pale face.
“What kind of deal?...”
Oh i was going to hate the next hour i was sure of it, but i would do my best to explain without giving away to the sick fuck on the balcony what was actually going on.
Sadly this meant I couldn't tell Arthur that he would be fine.
“They said that if i killed you they would let me AND the other two go, as long as we don't come back to Maringand”
It was as if someone had tugged a rug from underneath him as he sort of fell down to his knees in slow motion.
“Are you?- I mean, are you going to Take the deal? Because if so i won't fight you”
Of all the things I had thought would be the outcome for this situation it certainly wasn't that he'd just let it happen.
“I mean maybe? Why are you even okay with this? Why would you just let me do that?”
He looked dejectedly to the ground, seemingly trying to put it into words.
“Can you promise me to keep the other two safe? I always knew that one day they would get me, but the others don't deserve to suffer, can you get them back to Kamerasca for me?”
Wait, he'd just let me? As long as I promised to bring the other two back home safely?
I had planned on bringing them back there anyway, and if it meant this entire Bullshit would go over faster I'd gladly do that.
“I can do that, i'll even promise to bring them there myself even if i get shot at again”
He seemed a bit calmer at the prospect of his friends getting back home safely, but he seemed to still have something nagging at him.
“So- uh, how- how are you going to- you know?”
Ah this was the part i had dreaded, explaining that i was going to literally eat him alive was not going to go over well.
And how the fuck would i even start explaining this?
In the end I decided to just be blunt about it, no use beating around the bush after all.
“Im- im going to… eat you? I guess?”
He blanched at the words, gripping one of his upper arms so tight that I worried it would start to bleed, looking at it made me realize that there were some long healed teeth marks on his elbow.
Right Robin has said something about that.
He was sitting on the ground paler than I had ever seen him before, shaking and refusing to look at me.
Finally he spoke in a quiet and softly dejected voice.
"What do you plan to do? Chew me to bits? Or snap my neck first?"
“Neither, I intend to swallow you whole. Alive."
He winced as I told him what I was going to do.
“That's hardly any better, i really don't want to die by melting alive but i can’t stop you”
Oh yeah i forgot about that part, It would be the first thing anyone assumed when told such a thing.
I wracked my brain trying to come up with something to comfort him that wouldn’t give away that he'd be safe to the sick fuck on the balcony.
“Well, not really, you'd suffocate first before anything else happens so it would be more like just going to sleep i guess”
“How the fuck do you know that? Please don't tell me you have done something like this before!”
He was starting to panic again and I tried to find something in my Brain that could help explain it.
“Uhh, no I have not, remember that I've only been a Giant for like a week? And I've spent that time in a stupid ass forest where I got lost?
That aside, well, Biology i guess? You can't tell me you've never thrown up.
And I'm pretty sure humans suffocate after like ten minutes? Well at least people pass out by that point i've seen that outside of bars”
Alcohol did not do kind things to people, made them pretty pissy generally.
At least Arthur seemed to be a bit more at ease now after I told him why I knew such a thing.
Well as at ease as one can be when facing the prospect of being eaten alive at least.
He was however still shaking like a leaf and pale like a corpse, anticipating a death that wouldn't really come.
“We can't stall this forever can we? As much as i'd like to, i think if we take any longer they will just shoot both of us to death”
He shakily nodded, sighing.
“Alright just… get it over with i guess, i won't move”
I put my hand down in front of him so he could climb on.
He stared at it for a good few seconds seemingly not comprehending that he could just climb into my palm before he closed his eyes and stepped on.
Using my other hand to stabilize him I carefully raised him to be level with my face.
I noticed that he had shut his eyes as tight as possible and was breathing hard, trying not to panic and shaking like it was the middle of winter.
“It'll be okay i won't hurt you don't worry”
I tried to reassure him the best I could before I put him in my mouth.
Pushing a finger against him I shoved him to the back of my throat and I shifted my jaw a few times, sighing before I swallowed.
Throughout all of this Arthur had been remarkably calm and I didn't know if he had passed out or not, but a slight shift of his arms proved that he was still conscious.
—---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Arthur was shoved head first into Donovan's mouth, past the pearly white teeth and a finger pushed him even further in, dragging him along the weirdly bumpy texture of the tongue to the back of the throat.
He could feel as Donovan opened and closed his jaws a few times, Likely preparing to swallow again.
Arthur could feel the air push against him as Donovan let out a sigh, The air swirling past him out of the mouth he was in.
Then a loud 'GLRK' sounded, taking him down most of the way.
Arthur could feel what he assumed to be Donovan’s hand press in against the throat as he went down.
He could hear the giant’s heart beating loudly as he passed it and it took everything in him not to move.
One last swallow and Arthur flopped out into an open space leaving him the one option it is.
This is not a place he imagined he’d actually end up being in, at least in one piece.
Arthur stayed still, trying his hardest not to move until he curled around himself, shaking.
He could feel the fleshy walls shift around him as the Giant breathed in and out.
He wanted to scream and hit and kick at the slowly rippling walls, but he had said he wouldn't move, so he'd try his best to keep still.
If he could keep his friends safe in exchange for this nightmare he would stay here, even if it meant his own death. —----------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Arthur had slipped away from my hands I could feel him enter my pouch.
I could tell he was shaking really badly and I wished to be able to do nothing more than comfort the trembling form and tell him he wasn't gonna die.
But I couldn't, not with an entire army watching, not to mention the bushy eyebrows guy was leaning over the railing again.
He had a sick sort of elation on his face at seeing me devour Arthur and I wanted nothing more than to punch his face in.
“WELL DONE BEAST! YOU SHALL BE RELEASED TOMORROW! UNTIL THEN YOU SHALL BE WATCHED! TO ENSURE THAT HE IS TRULY DEAD!”
God I hated this prick and wished him an untimely and absolutely stupid death.
Hearing him laugh in his ear paining nasally voice I Punched the wall next to me with a loud Boom that shook the balconies overhead, making him and a few soldiers yelp in alarm.
“Your Majesty! Are you alright?’”
Wait, that was the King??? Oh fuck i was lucky that he had agreed to let me and the other two go tomorrow.
But I hadn't expected the guy with the bushy eyebrows to be the king, he just didn't look like it, but that was probably because he wasn't wearing a crown the times i saw him.
Well aware that I was being watched from who knew where I sat back against the wall near where the sun was shining in.
Drawing my legs up I put my hands over my middle where the still trembling form of Arthur currently resided.
I had to applaud him though, he had been refraining from struggling or screaming this entire time.
He certainly was a brave man, I was pretty sure I would be screaming in such a situation.
Putting my hand directly over my pouch I could even feel him breathe, he was taking slow shaky breaths apparently trying not to cry.
I felt worse than ever and I couldn't even tell him he'd be fine! If word got out to the king I'd be shot dead immediately!
I tried my best to comfort him still, rubbing softly at him through the walls of my pouch where he lay.
I stopped after hearing him let out a quiet sob.
I hated this, hated it a lot actually and wanted time to go over faster so we could leave and finally tell him that he's not in danger.
He was still trembling and it made me feel even more worse the more this went on but I didn't dare speak.
Trying to think of something else to calm him down as attempting to rub at him hadn't helped in the least i started holding my own breath.
He got some form of air supply, so if I managed to pinch that off enough he would get drowsy from lack of oxygen and fall asleep.
Perhaps holding my breath as well would work?
It might be mean to do such a thing but being in a constant state of terror couldn't be good for his brain.
I was really glad I could hold my breath for quite some time, about five minutes if I recalled correctly, enough time for Arthur to start slumbering the time he was stuck there away.
And I was right, it only took him three minutes to stop shaking and fall asleep.
So now I was sitting in this stupid pit with only the sleeping form of Arthur to keep me company, which was honestly rather boring.
However I would not try to make smalltalk with one of the Guards that without a doubt would shoot me immediately if they were allowed to do so.
We were leaving as soon as possible anyways so it would be pretty pointless to do such a thing.
Sliding down against the wall slowly so as not to disturb the sleeping Form inside of me I put my back against the wall, lying on my side and tucking my legs up, curling protectively around my middle.
I could feel Arthur slide a little in my pouch and I went dead still, hoping to not wake him up after he had finally calmed down.
As nothing besides slight shifting happened I continued to lay there trying not to think about how having something alive in my pouch felt actually sort of, good?
I shoved such thoughts as far away as possible, this would NOT become a common occurrence, After all, as soon as I got those idiots back to Kamerasca I would dip anyway.
I still couldn't figure out why the thought about them going back without me stung, but I ignored it for now.
Laying like this and watching the sunbeam move over the wall I started holding my breath everytime i thought that Arthur was about to wake up.
Some hours later the light from outside vanished completely leaving me in darkness and with nothing better to do fell asleep myself hoping that Arthur wouldn't wake up in the middle of the night.
I was not woken until the next morning when I heard doors being opened with a bang from one of the balconies startling me enough to sit up abruptly.
Fearing that it might have woken Arthur, I held my breath again as I heard the telltale clack clack of expensive shoes on stone walking to the railing.
Ah, it seems the king has arrived again.
I sincerely hoped that he’d keep his word and let me and the other two free today, but he had sworn to God and all rivers of hell so it should be fine.
I hoped at least.
I was proven right when I heard his Nasally and way too loud voice called down to me.
“BEAST! SINCE THE BOY IS NOW DEAD YOU AND THE OTHER TWO PRISONERS WILL BE ESCORTED OUT OF MARINGAND TODAY! AND REMEMBER TO NEVER RETURN TO MY KINGDOM!”
As if I ever wanted to come back to this hellhole but saying that out loud might not be a good idea.
“Sure, i'm not keen on getting stuck into this pit again, so we will leave for good i can assure you that”
Standing up slowly to make sure Arthur stayed asleep, I stood in the middle of the room as the king called down again.
“BEAST! IF YOU ARE TO STRAY TOO FAR OR ATTACK A CITIZEN YOU WILL BE SHOT! WE HAVE PLANNED A ROUTE OUT OF OUR KINGDOM AND WE WILL LEAD YOU THERE! SO DO NOT WANDER OFF OR YOU WILL BE SHOT!”
Man this guy loved to threaten me with getting shot, and I kinda wished I could shoot him instead.
Ignoring the urge to punch the wall again I heard another set of doors being opened.
Turning around I saw that they were pushing the only door that I could fit through slowly open.
Peering into the dark I saw at least forty guards, all fitted with crossbows in addition to their normal getup standing in front of a slope that seemed to have been carved out of the surrounding stone.
Slowly going up the tunnel surrounded by armed Guards I saw another door that was also being opened the moment we came near it.
Arthur was still unconscious, and currently bunched up like in a hammock at the bottom of my pouch.
I held my breath again to make sure Arthur stayed asleep but made extra sure to not completely suffocate him, just keep the air low enough that he wouldn't wake up.
Watching the Doors swing open I saw both Robin and Rikaad on the other side, both surrounded by Guards like me.
Robin's face lit up at the sight of me and Rikaad looked confusedly behind me and around as if searching for someone, and I knew exactly who he was looking for but I couldn't tell him that Arthur was okay and with me, Within me right now.
And I prayed to Amesimos that he would never find out, he was an enigma as it was and I couldn't predict what he would do if he ever did find out.
It might be okay, or he could just murder me for doing such a thing I couldn't tell with that guy.
I knew as long as I didn't do anything bad he was alright but I didn't know how he would react to something like this.
Robin seemed to have catched up on the fact that Arthur was still missing and was looking around confusedly.
He even tried to get closer to me but was yanked back by a Guard and put next to Rikaad who looked at the offending man with the iciest look i had ever seen him have, and even the guard backed off a bit as Rikaad stood provocatively next to Robin while Squaring up in front of the smaller Guard.
He really was a tall human, if i was still normal sized i’d definitely be scared of him.
I was also a bit scared of him as a Giant to be honest, Those eyes still unnerved me greatly.
As I was being led out of the tower I noticed it was near the edge of the forest next to some houses, and that Robin was right about me being tall like a house, I could see onto the roofs pretty well.
At the command of some higher ranking Guard we were all collectively herded along the line of buildings towards the forest.
If the streets weren't completely empty it would feel like I was being paraded through town, but it looked like they had ‘evacuated’ all citizens for this.
One less thing to worry about I hoped.
They really weren't fast either and I had to slowly drag my feet across the ground to not step out of the line they made.
I really tried to steer closer to Robin and Rikaad but the Guards always switched positions with them so I couldn't get near, and every time I did try they would aim their crossbows at me.
Feeling Arthur move a bit I held my breath again, if he woke up now and made any noise that could be heard on the outside we'd all be dead men.
I felt really bad about doing this to him, but I didn't really have any other options, and besides it was to save his hide as much as mine.
I just hoped he would forgive me for this one day, but it was unlikely.
It was whatever, they would go back home to Kamerasca and I would have to wander the woods as just another monster if I didn't find out how to deal with this curse.
Noticing movement out of the corner of my eye I looked onto a rooftop to see a barefooted boy in tattered clothing standing there, He seemed to be not older than eleven or twelve, and surprisingly had pointed ears just like me.
Another Bastard, I looked at him in sympathy and silently wished him luck.
I knew how hard street life could be as an unwanted halfbreed.
As he saw that I was looking at him he made the thumbs up gesture while pointing to his ears and I gave the tiniest nod back.
He climbed over the roofs out of sight and I doubted that I would ever see this boy again.
But it was nice to know I wasn't the only one.
I noticed that the direction we were going in was towards the mountain and I guessed that they would let us go at roughly the same spot they found us.
Holding my breath again as I felt Arthur move I tried to get closer to Robin and Rikaad once more but stopped when some of the Guards raised their crossbows at me.
There was no doubt in my mind that the tips were coated in poison and I was not keen on getting shot, again.

Still Subject to Change Chapter 7 (NEW)
——————————————————————————-
Hello everyone! i decided to repost arc 1 of SSTC
(the chapters were way too long and had a bunch of typos but hopefully this will make reading easier)
this Story contains Vore, Dont like dont read.
if there are still any grammatical errors i’m sorry.
——————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Robin sat next to me and Rikaad, absentmindedly stuffing flowers into his mouth and making even more flower crowns out of those he didn't eat.
Rikaad stood up and looked towards the mountain.
“We should continue our journey after eating we still have some ways to go especially now that we had to flee from the Arachnids”
That much was true.
I had run a good distance away from those things and not in the direction we were headed but rather perpendicular to the mountain.
“Aw fuck but at least we know now how to avoid those critters at least”
Standing up slowly I picked up the flowers that weren't eaten and went over to Arthur, pouring the plants over him to which he reacted by sitting up abruptly and glaring at me.
“That's for stabbing me”
I went back over to the other two without a word.
Robin was laughing but Rikaad was looking rather displeased.
Fuck, i hoped i would not get murdered in my sleep for this.
He did not do anything else and instead turned away from the mountains and started walking back into the woods.
Arthur finally got up and went over to walk next to Rikaad, still glaring at me and tearing into some of the flowers I had tossed over him like an angry dog.
Robin ran up to me and motioned for me to pick him up again, so I once again offered him my hand to climb on.
Arthur did not look happy about it, he probably expected Robin to be scared of me now, honestly I was too so I was glad that it wasn't the case.
Cupping the ginger boy closer to my chest I tried to not walk too fast for the other two.
“You're lazy, ginger boy”
I quipped to the small human in my hands.
“I know”
He just grinned and lounged back against my chest.
The two that were walking by themselves kept looking at my hands, or more specifically the Rusthead that occupied them.
They were probably worried that I would do something.
I tried my best to not be offended and attributed it to what happened earlier instead.
It was a walk in silence for a few minutes until Arthur piped up.
“How long do you think we have to walk? Till we get home i mean”
It took a few moments before Rikaad responded.
“I would guess a few more days but i'm not familiar with the landscape here”
I was sure that as long as we went opposite of the mountain we couldn't go too wrong.
After all, the only thing we could run into would be the ocean if we somehow missed the Kingdom entirely so we would just have to walk along the shore to find civilization.
The redhead in my hands abruptly stood up and I tried my best to not let him fall over on the uneven surface.
“Maybe if Donovan held me over the trees I could see something?”
All of us looked at him a bit alarmed at his suggestion.
While not out of character for him to come up with such a dumb idea it might actually work.
I just wasn't sure how to go about something like that, What if I didn't hold him correctly and dropped him?
The smaller men apparently had similar thoughts as Arthur immediately bristled.
“That a dumb idea! And Dangerous too! What if you fall? You'll break your legs!”
Rikaad however seemed to mull it over.
“It might give insight as to where we currently are but i'm not sure if its a good idea, it might be dangerous if we don't find a way to do secure you this high up”
I looked down at the rusthead, trying to think of a way to hold him that would not result in him falling to the ground should he continue moving like a hyperactive mouse.
“I mean I could? I just would have to hold you i guess”
The Ginger boy nodded enthusiastically and sat down again, his legs straight out forward waiting for me to lift him over the trees.
Taking a few seconds to think of how to do it, I ended up grabbing his lower half in a gentle fist, leaving his arms and torso free.
I really hoped having his legs secure up to his waist would be good enough as he was a rather fidgety little guy.
Since it seemed alright like this I began to slowly lift him over my head, ignoring the death glare Arthur sent me and Rikaad’s icy gaze that lingered on me.
Having Robin so far over my head with my arm completely outstretched I felt like it was rather dumb looking but ignored it at his excited shout.
“I can see a tower! It's a good bit away still but i think we can make it today if we're fast!!”
He was pointing to a spot a tiny bit to our right and away from the mountain still.
That was weird, if anything I would have guessed that I'd be more to our left and farther away too.
How fast had I run away from those spiders?
Attributing it to adrenaline I slowly put Robin down to the ground again making sure not to go too fast to avoid making him dizzy.
He hopped off my hand as soon as he could and went over to the other two.
“I think we can make it today! If we go fast now!”
He grabbed both of their arms and began Dragging them along.
I slowly shuffled behind.
I felt weird over this piece of information.
I didn't know if I was sad or not about the fact that they all would be out of my life soon.
On one hand Robin was extremely nice to me and Rikaad seemed to at least tolerate me, but Arthur seemed to just plain dislike me completely.
Well I wouldn't have to worry about that soon as I couldn't go back to the City anyway, and Humans did not belong in the forest at all.
Slowly dragging my feet over the ground after them I was glad that at least one with Robin dragging them along it was a bit faster and I did not have to stop as much anymore.
It took a few hours to get anywhere close enough that everyone else could see the mentioned tower too, but something was off about it.
The tower looked well kept and clean, even the flags swaying in the light breeze that had warmed up the air since we ran from the spiders looked recently washed.
Wait a second the flags were wrong.
Instead of the yellow star on pale blue ground with the red ring around it it depicted two weird dark blue sickle moons on gray ground.
Tumblr media
This was not Kamerasca.
We had walked all the way to the neighboring Kingdom Maringand instead of back to our own Kingdom.
Well this still wasn't so bad, civilisation was civilisation after all.
And the small humans could probably just hitch a ride on a traders cart or something.
Looking down I saw them looking rather confused, and Arthur looked downright frightened for whatever reason.
He probably thought he'd be home by now and realized that he had to walk even more through dangerous territory now.
Robin turned to look between me and Rikaad with puppy eyes.
“How do we go back to Kamerasca now? Donovan can't go through Maringand with us”
I kneeled down to be more at level with them, ignoring whatever Arthur was doing a bit further back.
“I'm Not going with you from this point anymore, i'm going back into the woods, i can't go anywhere near a city anymore as a Giant”
I stood back up as Robin tried to come up with something to say.
“But- but we-uh we are not in Kamerasca yet! You said you'd stay till we got there!”
That was not technically true.
“I said i'd stay with you until we got to a city not that it HAD to be Tunstead, besides only half of this group seems to not hate me so it's better if i just go”
I turned away from the small humans and slowly went away from them into the forest once again, but this time completely alone.
I was not sure what I would do now seeing as I only went Giant rather recently but would make due, I always did.
Having my back turned to them I suddenly heard the telltale CLACK of a bolt being shot from a crossbow.
Feeling it embed itself in my shoulder blade I turned around as fast as I could while ripping it out, thinking I had been betrayed by Rikaad as he was the only one with a crossbow.
As soon as I had turned completely a second bolt was shot straight into my collarbone and another was shot too quickly to have been reloaded into my upper leg.
Already starting to feel the effects of what had to be even more Sedative than last time I tried to figure out where it was coming from while falling to my knees once again.
Looking at a point behind the smaller men I saw an entire group of actual Guards, Guards from Maringand not Kamerasca, had surrounded us on half a side and with the Tranquilliser running through my bloodstream I could not do anything as I fell to the ground completely.
With my Vision Darkening from the edges the last thing I saw was Arthur shoving Robin in Rikaad’s direction before being tackled by at least five Guards into the ground as he tried to run away, now writhing like a man possessed under the heavier humans.
The last thing I heard was Robin shouting something but the words would not register in my brain.
Then everything went completely dark and I was left alone in Nothingness.
Some time passed, and then slowly there was something more than blackness… there was a slight sound… a very very distant thudding.
I frowned in my semi-consciousness… confused by the sound’s presence when just a moment ago there had been soft, fuzzy silence and comfort.
I knew I was lying on the floor, and the ground was a lot harder than the dirt in the forest.
My eyes flickered open to gray dimness, pupils immediately dilating and constricting to adjust to the scarce light, okay… so what was going on?
My thoughts were confused, and I didn't seem to have the capability to move just yet… So… That noise?
A little voice of reason in the back of my head spoke out, ‘That's your heartbeat genius’.
Okay… so i was alive then… or at least… I felt like I was…
Another couple of minutes passed before i regained the ability to move, and i sat up very slowly, putting a hand to the back of my head and rubbing my scalp, trying to recall what had landed me wherever I was now.
Then in a flash I remembered what had happened.
Oh Fuck.
Well one thing after the other, so where the hell was i?
Firstly I seemed to be in a circular room , the tower we had seen maybe?
Looking a bit more it seemed that the only light came from a window way up overhead.
I couldn't reach it even if I wanted to, but at least I had some light to work with.
A ray of dusty light came down all the way to one of the walls and I moved to sit in the sunbeam, there that was better.
Scanning the walls a bit there were small doors laid into the solid Brickwork, about three small ones and one larger one where I had to be brought inside through.
Looking a bit more up I saw the ceiling way way over me, This tower must be huge!
And on what I assumed was an upper floor there were balconies built, still out of reach for me even if I jumped as high up as I could.
So i was taken captive, fuck.
I wasn't sure what would happen to me now, would they keep me as a sort of twisted monster pet? Or would they toss me into an arena to be defeated by a gladiator?
None of the options running through my head were very appealing.
I wondered what had happened to the trio of small humans that I had tagged along with and hoped they were alright.
I knew at least Arthur had a problem when I got shot as the last thing I saw was him tackled into the ground by five soldiers.
Before I could dwell further about the whereabouts of the smaller men though, The smallest door opened for about five seconds and an unconscious person was thrown in.
The person was facing away from me lying in a heap and looking closer was wearing the Kamerasca tunic, all other Armour had been stripped away.
Getting slowly closer I recognized the Blonde hair and Identified him as Arthur.
Of all the people to be thrown into my cell it had to be the one that had an inherent dislike for me, of course.
Still I wanted to make sure he was alive as sharing a cell with a corpse wasn't something I was looking forward to.
And I didn't really believe he deserved to die even if he was an asshole to me.
Not to mention Robin would be sad.
So I gently shook the limp form of the Guard apprentice hoping to get a reaction.
The thing I got was a pained groan and his arms twitching a bit.
“Arthur? Wake up, are you okay? You're not dying on me here right? I don't want a rotting corpse in my cell”
My voice seemed to draw him a bit further out of his sorry state and he started moving to sit up.
I went a bit away from him to the opposite wall of the pit we were trapped in.
“Wha- whas goin onnn?”
He seemed to have trouble identifying where he was and I surmised he got whacked on the head or something.
“We got caught by Maringand dipshit”
He looked thoroughly alarmed by that for reasons that probably went beyond me, I hadn't really taken my time to keep an ear out for stupid politics when on the streets.
“Oh no oh no oh fuck I need to get out of here”
He was panicking and patting at the walls and trying to get the solid iron doors to open by rattling at each of them as hard as he could.
Did he have claustrophobia or something?
Well that wasn't really my problem and i didn't know what to do about it anyway.
He panicked for at least half an hour while I was watching in silence until he collapsed at the wall furthest from me to the ground, drawing his knees up to his chest, crossing his arms over them and burying his head into the hollow it made.
“What are you panicking about? If anything i should be the one to do that seeing as i'm a Bastard and you're not”
He looked over his crossed arms at me with a sour expression.
“You don't understand, they WILL kill me i know it”
Well that wasn't vague at all, i rolled my eyes at him.
“Yeah sure, i bet i'll die before you though seeing as i'm a ‘Monster’ “
He looked at me strangely.
“That's NOT what I mean, they're probably going to put on a show for your death, but mine….well it's gonna get painful i guess”
What the fuck was he talking about? Had he been in Maringand before? Before I could think to ask him about it he had a Question himself though.
“How are you so calm? You know you are going to die and yet you just sit there?”
At least it was a coherent Inquiry for once.
“Well i guess i always expected to be caught one day, after all i was a Bastard living in the streets and i'm actually really surprised i made it this far”
He slunk back against the wall even further hiding his face once again.
It was true though, I always knew I wouldn't die of old age and likely be killed or die of some treatable disease.
Despite sitting in the only available sunbeam I still felt like it was way too dark here and something kept nagging at me.
“Arthur? Do you know what happened to the others?”
I almost didn't dare ask, as I was honestly afraid of the answer, I sincerely hoped they were okay.
“I think they're alright, Maringand doesn't really have any negative relations to the Kamerasca Citizens”
The way he said Kamerasca Citizens was a bit weird, almost as if he didn’t count himself.
“So why are you guys locked up? I mean i understand that they put me in this ugly pit, but you guys aren't even actual guards”
He shifted uncomfortably against the wall trying to hide his face even more.
“I'm Not from Kamerasca”
The quiet admission did surprise me, I had thought with how he acted absolutely loyal to Kamerasca that he was born there.
“What the fuck do you mean by that? Are you a Criminal here? Did you flee to Kamerasca or something?
He still looked incredibly uncomfortable and slid down even further on the wall, this guy was flexible as hell i noted.
“Or something is close enough i guess, i'm the son of a high ranking nobleman that was killed in a coup to take over the entire nobility of Maringand”
Of all the things I had expected it certainly was not this.
“What? You mean to tell me that you're a nobleman?? And that's why these fucks put us in this stupid prison?”
He actually seemed guilty for what had happened and looked like he tried to melt into the floor, wincing.
“I know how this sounds, but believe me i'm telling the truth, though I expected to be dead by now”
He did not have any reason to lie about Such a thing, and why would he?
That’d be absolutely idiotic if what he said about the coup was true then that just meant he’d put himself in danger by telling such a thing.
“I don’t think you are lying, it would be stupid to make that up and just put yourself in danger”
He finally looked back up from his arms.
“Yeah it would be, besides i'm an absolutely terrible actor anyways, basically everyone can attest to that, i wouldn't be able to act to save my life”
I realized that this was only the second time I had talked to Arthur that didn’t end in the use of insults or screaming.
Though looking at the dejected form of the human slouched against the wall I doubted that he had the energy to do so, and neither did I if I was honest, the sedative still made me a bit sleepy.
Before either of us could say anything more a loud Bang came from overhead, like big doors being flung open.
Looking up I realized that the noise must have come from one of the balconies, was someone there?
“WHY HASN'T THE BEAST DONE ANYTHING YET? I DEMAND AN EXPLANATION!”
A loud nasally voice called from the platform, I couldn't see who the speaker was but I did hear other people speaking too albeit at a normal volume and I couldn't make out the words.
Glancing at Arthur I could see that he was looking up unconcealed dread, did he know the owner of the voice?
As I looked up again I could see a face leaning over the railing of one of the balconies.
The most prominent feature I could make out even from all the way down here was a pair of thick bushy eyebrows that had grown together in the middle.
To the side I heard Arthur start to breathe heavily, he likely did know the owner of the voice then.
The eyebrow guy's gaze seemed to bore into me and I tried my best to remain calm.
Just because I knew I would get killed here didn't mean I was going to accelerate my death by being an idiot.
“BEAST! TELL ME WHY THE MAN THROWN INTO YOUR CELL IS STILL ALIVE?”
What the fuck did this guy even want? Did he expect me to mindlessly kill whatever was thrown at me like a rabid dog?
Deciding to respond the best I could I also tried to remain as calm as possible.
I truly did not want to be seen as just another monster that they could put in shackles to do their bidding.
“I don't kill people, also where am I kept? I would like to leave”
I glared at him with a sour face making my disdain for the situation very clear.
The eyebrow guy did not seem to like that.
“WELL WE WILL SEE IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND ON THAT! YOU'LL NOT BE FED TILL YOU HAVE KILLED HIM BEAST!”
Before I could do anything else the loud man had already turned away out of sight and a few seconds later heard the door close.
“What the fuck dude, what do they expect? That I do what they want just cuz they don't give me food? Fat chance”
I huffed out and looked back to Arthur who had gone pale as a corpse, He was shaking and looking at me with fear in his eyes.
“You- you're not going to kill me? Why? You hate me”
I was a bit taken aback by this, had he really expected me to kill them the entire time? I tried to not let that hurt me but it still stung.
“No? Why should i? Just cuz i don't like someone doesn't mean i want them dead”
He curled up against the wall again, a sigh escaping his mouth.
“This is all my fault, i shouldn't have followed you into the forest i shouldn't have-”
“Shut up, its not your fault why the fuck would you have known what would happen?”
I interrupted him before he started swimming in self-pity.
He just groaned and put his hands over his face.
“I’m just glad that the others are fine for now, the Guards won't do anything to them seeing as killing Kamerasca Guards wouldn't look good for them”
I was relieved to hear that, but it still left the problem of being held captive.
“Do you have any idea how to get out of here?”
He looked back at me with a sad look on his face.
“No, these things were built to imprison dragons, so we don't really have a chance to get out unless someone gets us out”
This was built for dragons? Well it would make sense, seeing as the only window was way up in a gradually thinning cylinder that was likely underground.
“So we're stuck? Unless they actually let us out, which i doubt they would do”
He nodded, still slouched sadly against the curved wall.
“Maybe i can make a deal, ask them to let the others go and only kill me”
I looked at him a bit surprised, he'd actually offer his own life in exchange for letting the others free?
And would that include me too? I doubted it because he didn't like me, and even if he did try it was very unlikely that those aristocrats would agree to let a ‘dangerous Beast’ roam free.
“Are you sure about that? You are aware that dying is permanent right?”
“Of course I do! I just- I'm- This is just so dumb! I've been Terrified for like two years for exactly this!
And now I dragged my friends into it! I NEVER meant to do that!
I've been always on the lookout for anything that could kill me, and then later for anything that could kill my friends! And I failed! Twice!
I hate this! All of this!”
Oh… a few things suddenly made a bit more sense now, he wasn't really angry all this time, he was afraid, afraid to die or that i would kill him and his friends.
And as is Human Nature they don't want to be afraid, so they get angry instead, lashing out at whatever they could whether it was at fault or not.
I had completely misunderstood him the entire time, he hadn't been angry at me, he had been afraid of me!
And I didn't really do anything to help with that fear.
No wonder he was such a Grumpy dude.
Before either of us could say anything more a loud scraping sound came from one of the Balconies and a wooden construction held up with rope came into view.
A construction crane? Why would they have that here?
Arthur had gone pale again, looking up with dread as a dozen or so Guards appeared on the edges of the balconies, all holding mean looking Crossbows that were aimed at me.
Would they just shoot us both to death? They didn't move until a wooden platform was panned over the balcony hanging from the crane.

Still Subject to Change Chapter 6 (NEW)
——————————————————————————-
Hello everyone! i decided to repost arc 1 of SSTC
(the chapters were way too long and had a bunch of typos but hopefully this will make reading easier)
this Story contains Vore, Dont like dont read.
if there are still any grammatical errors i’m sorry.
——————————————————————————
Tumblr media
I doubted I could sleep at all yet anyway.
“I could? I mean i was lying on the floor for a few hours over midday so i'm not tired at all right now”
At my input Arthur stared at me with a sour face, he probably expected me to murder all of them in their sleep or something.
Rikaad however seemed to mull it over, looking at Arthur as well.
“How about you and Arthur take the first shift? In case one of you nods off without noticing there's still another person on the lookout”
This did seem like a good solution but the problem was that Arthur did not like me at all, so I didn't know how being the only two awake would go.
Rikaad winked Robin over to him and the two settled down in a sort of two person pile to sleep.
“Goodnight!”
Came the enthusiastic but still tired shout from Robin who settled Down after Rikaad put an arm over his face to shut him up.
It sort of backfired as Robin grabbed the offending appendage and pulled it to himself to use as a pillow.
Not wanting to seem creepy I stared into the woods, eyes and ears alert for whatever would dare come near the smaller men.
I realized that previous to this I had not watched my back at all while sleeping and considered myself lucky that nothing had happened.
But there was nothing I could do about it now.
Looking at Arthur for a second who seemed to avoid looking into my eyes, I decided to just sit in silence again.
“... So how did you end up this big? I overheard you saying a curse?”
Turning around I faced Arthur again, he seemed nervous.
I had not expected him to speak to me for the entire duration of this trip.
“Yeah i somehow got this stupid thing stuck on me”
I tapped the bracelet to show what I meant.
“But i'm not going to mess with it, i'm not keen on dying to some haywire magic”
He chewed his lip, seemingly debating with himself for a bit.
“Robin said you just stole Bread? Not…. anything of more value?”
Well considering how that lady screamed when she saw me it would be Assumed that I had stolen gold or something.
“Well No, i'm not big on thievery i just take what i actually need and not more”
He still had trouble looking at my face so he stared into the dark abyss that the nightly forest provided absent from our campfire.
“So this entire stupid thing is over a loaf of bread? Im such an idiot”
He put his hands over his face and fell over backwards from his sitting position.
Not knowing what to do as I had sparse people skills at best I decided to ask him why he followed me into the forest.
“Why'd you run after me into the woods anyway? Usually nobody goes there on account of it being too dangerous”
There was silence on his end for a few seconds and he shifted to gently grip the wound on his side with a slightly pained expression.
“...I… there are some expectations for prospective Guards, for me and Robin even more so we got into the school on a lucky whim, so we had some stupid standards to uphold and letting anyone get away would mean that we'd be thrown onto the streets once more if not worse”
So he ran after me because the alternative could be worse.
I was no stranger to how Guards treated someone they deemed a failure, I had seen it many times when an apprentice was ‘punished’ for something completely stupid.
“At least you have more guts than the actual guards, none of them EVER followed me into the forest”
He whipped his head around and looked at me surprised.
“What? But they are Guards! They should have? Why didn't they? As a Guard it's expected to sometimes do things you don't want to!”
I think i gave him a crisis or something, Fuck.
Better not tell him about the other corrupt stuff i had witnessed over time.
Until later then, if the confused and upset mutterings were anything to go by.
Staring off into the woods again my view panned over the various plants.
I occasionally glanced back to either Arthur who was still muttering about Guard duties or to Rikaad and Robin who were sleeping peacefully curled over each other.
Sometimes I shifted my view up to the moon, watching it rise on the star speckled sky.
I continued to sit in silence just watching my surroundings and carefully listening to whatever sounds the Forest made.
Arthur apparently did not want to talk anymore, but he was probably preoccupied with the fact that I told him that some of the Guards were cowards.
I was fine with that as it left more room to focus on everything else.
Arthur’s head snapped to every noise that came from the dark and imposing trees.
I could tell he was on edge judging by the way he flinched at sudden noises and he still held a hand over the wound he received today.
“Are you okay? Does the wound hurt?”
I did not want him dying or anything while on my shift, the other two would kill me.
“Im fine its just stinging a bit from the cold”
He threw some more wood onto the fire and shifted closer to it.
I couldn't really tell how cold it was.
Since I became a giant I did not seem to feel as much temperature anymore, but if the small puffs of breath coming from my mouth meant anything it was really cold.
“Yeah what is up with that anyway? Its spring so why the fuck is it snowing?”
It was truly bizarre that the weather had gotten this frigid, but maybe it was just the higher altitude.
Arthur was still throwing even more wood into the fire until it was twice the size it was before.
“No idea, but i hope it gets warmer soon, i don't have the right clothing for this shit”
I could see that much was true, he was sort of hugging himself while small clouds escaped from between his lips.
Since he did not want me anywhere near him I instead took my handkerchief out and offered it to him so he could use it as a blanket.
At first he flinched when he saw my hand coming closer and put his fingers on his sword, but when he saw that I only offered some fabric he cautiously and slowly took it.
Instead of wrapping it around himself like I thought he would, he went over to Robin and Rikaad instead and draped the fabric over them as a blanket.
He sat back down in his spot next to the fire holding his hands out to the flames.
We sat in silence until the moon was at its highest point and Rikaad suddenly got up.
I would forever deny that I flinched as he got up.
“I believe it is our turn now, you can go to sleep if you'd like”
He shook Robin gently, who in turn complained about having to get up.
The Rusthead even went as far as to bury himself in the blanket.
Rikaad seemed to only now notice the piece of fabric and swiveled his head to look at me.
Neither of us said anything and he went back to waking up Robin, who finally but reluctantly got up.
“I'd rather keep sleeping”
He complained but went over to sit next to Rikaad regardless.
I debated if I even could sleep, I knew at least one of them didn't like me, and I still didn't know what to think about Rikaad.
The dark haired boy continued to puzzle me but I guessed that it was the strict Guard training that made him weird.
At least I hoped so, I did not want to end up dead because of this.
Lying down a short ways away I turned my back to the fire and tried to sleep.
Nodding off was not easy as I always felt like someone was watching me but after some time I finally managed to sleep.
I woke up the next morning to something tickling my nose.
Pulling my arm over my face and opening my eyes I saw that it was Robin who had taken a long leaf of grass and was tickling me with it.
I sat up slowly and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes.
“There are normal ways to wake someone up, you know?”
The Rusthead just grinned at me.
“I know, but this is funnier”
Arthur popped his head up from behind the fallen log he had sat on yesterday.
“It won't be as funny if he ends up sneezing on you, well for you anyway”
Rikaad seemed to appear out of nowhere to interject with his own opinion.
“Arthur you literally his behind that Log to avoid any consequences and then told Robin to go ahead”
While it was rather funny in retrospect I was sure we had to get moving sometime so I stood up all the way, stretching my arms over my head.
“Well I guess you woke me up to get going? Or did the plan suddenly change?”
I was only half joking, I knew they could turn on me when I least expected it, but this was kinda my fault so I felt obligated to help them.
“We are still heading away from the mountain so get your stuff and then we'll leave”
Rikaad turned towards the other two and I went to pick up my Handkerchief that had been used as a blanket yesterday.
I noted that someone had neatly folded it but said nothing about it and just pocketed it instead.
Walking after the three Humans proved to be just as slow as yesterday, which was still rather annoying.
Taking slow shuffling steps after them meant I had to be careful to not step on them.
Aside from the damage that would cause it would be really awkward, hell even thinking about it was awkward as it technically shouldn't be possible.
Ignoring what they talked about amongst themselves, I instead paid attention to the surroundings, especially the floor.
At some point Robin motioned for me to bend down.
“I don't wanna walk anymore. Can you carry me?”
I sort of expected this from him already, so I held my hand on the ground for him to climb on trying to ignore the death glare Arthur sent me.
Cupping the little rusthead closer to my chest I continued slowly walking after the other two.
Arthur seemed to not like me, even after I tried my best to be friendly yesterday, and I still did not know what to think of Rikaad.
He was quite the unusual character, his movements were sharp even when walking, but not in a choppy sort of way, more like a precise knife, he walked with purpose.
Rikaad was by far the one I most feared out of the group, I somehow had no doubt he would manage to cut my throat or something.
I decided to do my best to ignore it and instead focus on my environment.
The trees here looked a bit weird, but then again the entire forest was supposed to be sorta fucked up.
I did not recognize any of the trees either, they had pretty normal looking stems but the leaves were an off white greenish color and seemed to be covered in something, a fungus maybe?
“What is this stuff? It looks disgusting”
Arthur piped up from somewhere in front of us and pointed to the ground that was also starting to be covered in that white stuff like a fine layer of cloth.
I was so preoccupied with examining the weird stuff that I did not notice how utterly still Robin had become in my hand.
From somewhere left of us I heard weird clicking and hissing noises.
Turning to face whatever made such sounds I saw a massive spider, and when I say massive I mean it.
The thing was a bit bigger than a horse so even with my new height this thing was larger than usual.
That was definitely not good.
If I recalled correctly, spiders ate about anything they could catch in their nets.
Oh so that's what the white stuff was, Fuck.
Well I could deal with one of those, maybe I could just stomp on it or kick it away as far as possible.
Those plans however went out the window as more of these Spiders approached just as Arthur and Rikaad ran to seek shelter next to me.
I counted about twelve of these Arachnid monsters, too many to fight.
Arthur was panicking and clinging to my leg begging Rikaad to come up with something.
“Fuck fuck fuck how do we get out of this?? Rikaad please tell me you have a plan”
Rikaad however seemed to have no idea what to do, and I also tried to think of something.
Run away? While a good option the others would never be able to keep up with me and Robin had passed out the moment he saw a spider.
Could I carry them all? I only had two hands and there were three people so there was no way to hold onto any of them securely enough to sprint away.
As the spiders drew closer making those wretched clicking noises instinct took over, and the next thing I knew was that Robin was in my mouth and I gripped both of the other young men, one in each hand running as far away as possible from those creatures.
I heard shouting from the hand that held Arthur and he tried to bite me.
Luckily he only managed to get to my calloused thumb.
“SPIT HIM OUT! SPIT HIM OUT! I KNEW IT I KNEW IT WAS A DUMB IDEA TO TRUST A GIANT! SPIT! HIM! OUT!”
Well right now with spiders chasing us that sadly wasn't possible and I couldn't even respond to anything with my mouth currently occupied by the rusthead.
Rikaad was strangely silent but a glance over to my other hand told me that this was because only his legs dangled free of my grip, his entire upper half covered by my fingers.
Adrenaline carried me a good distance away from the spider nets but I kept running until I saw no webs at all anymore, not even from a distance.
Falling to my knees in a grassy field as the adrenaline left, I put my hands on the ground in front of me, letting go of the two young men.
Arthur scrambled upright, fumbling for his sword as Rikaad slowly got up.
I did not pay attention to them and instead fished a bedraggled looking Robin out of my mouth.
He was moving, which meant he had been back to consciousness for a while now.
I hoped I had not scared him, but judging by the fact that he just tried to wipe the saliva off instead of screaming he was probably fine.
Just as I set him on the ground someone screamed his name.
“ROBIN!”
Arthur bolted over to Robin, encasing him in a hug, not caring that he got a bit slimy as well.
Rikaad also moved over to where the two sat and stared at me, his eyes even icier than before but I still could not tell what he was thinking.
Was he angry? Did he regret asking me to tag along? In the end he said nothing and instead moved to kneel next to Robin.
I was still panting and sweating a bit from the adrenaline rush and the sprint I had just done to get away from the oversized arachnids, so I was not expecting to get stabbed in my outer thigh while kneeling on the ground.
“YEOWCH! What was that for?”
Arthur had snuck up on me and embedded his knife in my upper leg.
“YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT FOR! YOU TRIED TO EAT ROBIN YOU Imbecilic BASTARD!”
Imbecilic??? Imbecilic??? Was that what he thought of me? That I was just a dull Idiotic Imbecile??
And he didn't even grasp that I only did it to save all of our asses! Idiot!
“I DIDN'T! BUT I ONLY HAVE TWO HANDS BUT IF IT BOTHERS YOU SO MUCH I WOULD HAVE LEFT YOU THERE!”
“AS IF I WOULD BELIEVE THAT! I KNEW IT I FUCKING KNEW NOT TO TRUST A GIANT BASTARD–”
He did not get to finish his sentence as we were interrupted by an even louder voice.
“CAN YOU TWO SHUT UP??”
I was a bit taken aback by Rikaad’s loud shout, I did not expect him to have such strong vocal cords.
But it sure worked as he intended as both of us were stunned into silence as he walked over to us.
Looking at him it was like someone had set his usually icy gray eyes on fire as he stared at both of us.
Then his gaze froze over again, surprising me and apparently Arthur who had shrunk back when Rikaad came over.
“Please dont argue, i know we are all stressed from wandering around this forest especially after what just happened”
Arthur tried to interrupt him but was waved off by Rikaad.
“I'm not done speaking, also Arthur if you think logically if he had truly planned to eat Robin do you think he would have spat him out?”
Arthur just looked away and mumbled something I could not make out, he seemed to feel bad all of a sudden after being rebuked by the taller male.
Rikaad then turned to face me.
I reflexively straightened my back as he looked at me.
I don't know why I did that as I had no guard training but something compelled me to do it anyway.
“And Donovan? Please never do such a thing again”
I could only nod, I really hadn't wanted to in the first place but it was the only thing I could come up with at the time.
“Don't plan to, it's not something i wanted to do but my brain did not have any other ideas, also sorry for grabbing you”
He just nodded curtly at me and went back to Robin who was still trying to get all the slime out.
I looked at Arthur who stared back at me with quite a weird expression I could not place.
I decided to ignore him and my still bleeding cut for now and check on Robin, though while standing up I couldn't help a spiteful comment.
“Stupid bitch”
He did not respond and just sat there instead.
Going over to Robin I took out my Handkerchief again and offered it to him so he could wipe the rest of the saliva off.
He gladly took it and started trying to get the slime out of his hair.
“Thank you”
He reminded me a bit of a wet kitten with his short ginger hair sticking up in all directions.
Rikaad stood next to him seemingly as if nothing was wrong.
He was staring at Arthur and looking over I could see that he had just flopped onto his back, lying in a patch of grass limbs spread out like a star.
I went the opposite direction to a decently sized patch of wildflowers and started plucking the edible ones out of the ground, some were angrily stuffed into my mouth right away, others were put in a small heap near my knees.
I would bring those over to the small humans when I had calmed down a bit.
I just hoped Arthur would not accuse me of trying to poison them, or witchcraft who knows with this guy.
At some point while I was still ripping plants out of the dirt Robin came over and held my handkerchief up to me as best as he could.
I carefully took it from him and stuffed it back into my pocket.
He sat next to me and started to also pluck flowers but instead of eating them he started to make flower crowns once again.
I did not know what to say so i kept quiet, i was still feeling a bit awkward from what happened earlier and hoped he wasn't mad at me.
Robin however seemed to not be able to sit silent for long.
“You should brush your teeth”
He did not say more and just continued with his flower crown.
I huffed out an amused snort.
“With what? I cant use the little rags that are usually used”
He grinned up at me.
“Not my problem that you are taller than a House”
I couldn't help but smile, surely I wasn't that big was i? I had no reference for this after all.
“Maybe you're just tiny, but seriously are you good? Did I hurt when I put you in my mouth? Are you okay?”
He seemed confused for a second before answering.
“I'm fine, why do you ask? You're the one that's bleeding”
He pointed to the shallow cut Arthur had made, and that was starting to slowly scab over.
“Ehh just a scratch, i'm more upset about my pants having a hole now”
It did indeed suck as these were my only pair and now as a giant I couldn't even get new ones.
“I'm sure Rikaad could repair them he's pretty okay at sewing”
I was admittedly a bit surprised by this, I had not expected the man that used cold logic for everything to be good at such a mundane thing.
“Maybe, i don't think it's necessary it's just a small tear”
“Mhm you want a flower crown?”
He held one up to me that was longer than all the others he had made albeit still small to me.
“You're fast at that, but sure if it fits”
I cautiously took the offered flowers making sure to not squish any of them and put the too small crown on my head.
It only fit over half my head making me look like I had a flower halo sitting on my scalp.
Robin who had started another crown already burst into laughter.
“You look funny! I used way more flowers than normal and it's still so small on you!”
I carefully fished the colorful Blossoms from my head and tossed the entirety over Robin who tried to catch it but failed.
He instead took the flowers and wrapped them around his neck multiple times.
“You think the others will like eating flowers?”
“You know them better than i do, so you tell me”
I put the heap of pre-plucked flowers in my hand and stood slowly up.
Looking over the clearing I saw the other two men sitting near a tree with Arthur still lying on his back and Rikaad watching the environment.
I slowly walked over to them still keeping away from Arthur and sitting a good ways away from him so Rikaad was between the two of us.
“I found some edible plants if anyone wants”
Sitting down I put the flowers on the ground next to Rikaad so he could take some if he wanted.
Should Arthur want some as well he'd have to move over to us.
Robin walked over to Rikaad and put a flower crown on his head then tossed another on top of Arthur who did not react to having a bunch of flowers thrown at him.
Rikaad gingerly took the flower crown into his hand and looked at it.
“You know that's how we found you, Robin makes a lot of these and we just had to follow the trail of ripped out flowers to find you”
I was surprised at this and looked at Robin who, strangely enough, looked just as confused.
“You did? That wasn't even the plan with them i just like making those”
It wasn't even a plan to get his friends to come find him? Was it just pure luck that they found the petal trail? Robin truly was a strange human, albeit one of the good ones as far as i could tell.
Rikaad did not seem surprised by the admission of this being done by accident however.
“I suspected as much but it was still helpful even if there was a day where we found no flowers, i'm just glad you're okay”
He put the flower crown back on his head and reached over to pick one of the edible plants I had brought over and inspected a clover blossom.
Thinking about his comment on how they had not found any petals for a day it made me realize that it must have been the morning where Robin had been in my Pouch.
I sincerely hoped they would never find that out.
They'd probably lynch me, Especially Arthur who seemed to have an inherent dislike for me.
As for Rikaad, well i wasn't sure if he'd kill me seeing as Robin was fine but i would not risk it, his icy gray eyes still unnerved me greatly, but so far he'd been polite to me.

Still Subject to Change Chapter 5 (NEW)
——————————————————————————-
Hello everyone! i decided to repost arc 1 of SSTC
(the chapters were way too long and had a bunch of typos but hopefully this will make reading easier)
this Story contains Vore, Dont like dont read.
if there are still any grammatical errors i’m sorry.
——————————————————————————
Tumblr media
As soon as I was in a stable sitting position Robin tried to climb on my leg only to be stopped by Rikaad who had grabbed his scruff.
“Don't randomly climb people, that's rude!”
Rikaad seemed to be an alright guy even if I did not know what to make of him.
On one hand he seemed not afraid to call just about anyone off should they do something wrong.
On the other hand, I couldn't really make sense of him.
I now knew that Robin liked me enough to not want me dead, and I realized that that was the first time in forever that someone had actually stood up for me which never happened before and felt weirdly fuzzy inside at that.
Arthur however definitely wanted me dead judging by the look in his eyes.
But I could not for the life of me figure out what Rikaad was thinking of me and it made me kind of nervous.
But before I could further dwell on it Arthur had walked over and went to face Rikaad whispering something to him I could barely hear.
“What are you doing? We are supposed to get rid of this thing! Have you forgotten? He kidnapped Robin for fucks sake! And now you just let him free? We are supposed to get rid of the Fae folk as per the king's orders!”
Wow i never thought someone could be this hateful to someone they didn't even know but apparently i was wrong, I just hoped that the others did not listen to him.
“Arthur i can understand that you are angry about this entire situation but i have to inform you that we are not in Kamerasca right now, so technically the laws don't apply here, and we can't do anything without provocation”
He stepped closer to Arthur gripping his lower arm gently.
“Just behave? it's going to be okay we can just ignore the Fae and go home, i'm certain he's not gonna go to Kamerasca ever again seeing as he'd be killed on sight if he got to close”
Arthur squirmed a bit in his grip and finally conceded.
“fine but only because he did not laugh at Robins spider thing and helped instead”
Speaking of Robin now that Rikaad’s attention was on Arthur he had resumed climbing my leg and was sitting on my knee now.
Looking at me he just pointed at them and shrugged.
“Arthur is still pissed about the whole thing but i promise he's not evil just very grumpy and unfriendly”
His attempt at reassuring me wasn't really working as Arthur kept looking at me like he wanted to jab my eyes out.
“Sure”
I really wasn't convinced but so far at least none of them actually hurt me more than a few scratches, not counting the Sedative bolt of course.
As both of the other young men came back over, Robin attempted to slide down my leg but ended up falling down from my knee and I moved on reflex catching him before he hit the ground.
Well this certainly gave me enough adrenaline to stave off the rest of the tranquiliser.
Slowly lowering him the rest of the way to the ground I saw that Arthur had run closer and upon seeing him in my hand had put his fingers onto the hilt of his sword staring at me with wide eyes.
Rikaad however was eerily calm and strolled over to Robin who was climbing off of my Palm and offered his hand to him to help him down
“Arthur do not be rude and put that sword away”
Arthur did so immediately.
It seemed that this Rikaad guy was the leader of the group, or at least Arthur did as he said.
“So now we all can go our separate ways and forget that this week ever happened right?”
Arthur seemed eager to leave which, honestly, I couldn't blame him for.
I had scared him the first time we met and basically kidnapped his friend so it was no wonder he had a disdain for me.
He came up to us and took Robin's arm, dragging him away from me a little.
An emotion I couldn't quite identify bloomed in my chest and I did my best to shove it down.
I would not be sad about Robin leaving! I barely knew him anyway so what would it matter if I was alone again? I was a loner before so I can be a loner again if I have to!
However as they went to leave they seemed to encounter a problem.
“Do any of you know the direction we have to go to get home?”
They all looked at each other confused at Robin's Question, seemingly not having thought about that beforehand.
“So you guys followed me without any plan??”
I couldn't really believe that anyone would be so stupid to follow a Giant of all things into the Silvervale forest which was known for its monsters.
“Well this is your fault! If you hadn't grabbed Robin we wouldn't even be here!
An angry looking Arthur yelled at me.
“My fault?? You're the one that dragged him into a Forest that was already known for being a deathtrap! You didn't have to go after me but you still did!”
I defended myself.
“This is definitely not my fault! You're the one that stole something! And it is my duty as guard to correct anything unjust!”
This guy made me angry, as if Guards ever did anything helpful to people they deem ‘lesser’.
“The only thing I took was a piece of bread because I did not want to starve! And save me the Guard duty stuff.
I know those guys just love beating up the poor people! I saw them kill an old fisherman and then throw his body into a crab container just cuz he told them to fuck off! Your precious Guard can rot in hell for all i care”
Arthur's face went red and warped into a Furious grimace.
“You know what? Fuck you! and Fuck all this! Im going to fuck your mom and give her a child she’ll actually love!”
At these words I felt my anger that already had been simmering a bit boil over again, I had never been insulted like this.
But before I could even move to do anything Rikaad crossed the short distance between them with a few steps and had slapped him across the face, startling me out of my anger.
“You do not take such words into your mouth ever again! If you have to resort to such foul language to win a battle you are absolutely no better than your opponent!”
“But-”
Arthur held his face where he had been slapped with one hand.
“No excuses! such language will not be tolerated, understood?”
“Understood”
Robin had hid behind me while all this transpired and only now dared to peek out again.
“So do we know where to go? Or not?”
He asked meekly, seemingly wanting this interaction to be over already.
Rikaad turned back to him while Arthur took some snow out of a shadowed area under a tree and cooled his face with it while walking a distance away out of sight.
“I'm afraid we don't but i'm sure we'll find a way back, don't worry this time we are three people so that should make it easier”
Seeing him stand next to Robin this close I noticed that he was almost an entire head taller than the Ginger boy.
“Only three? Not four?”
He glanced up at me but I waved him off.
It would be better if he went home, and i could not follow him, i was not allowed anywhere near Kamerasca at all so i'd be better if i just left.
“The patrols would kill me on sight its better i don't come with you”
“But-”
Whatever Robin had wanted to say was interrupted by a scream coming from somewhere behind the trees.
Before I could react Rikaad had already darted past me and Robin to the source of the sound, fingers ready at the hilt of the sword at his side.
“ARTHUR!”
Running after Rikaad and coming to a stop on another clearing i saw Arthur pinned beneath a Manticore, the weird mismatched lion body with scorpion tail and legs was as big as a horse and its stubby feline face was turned into a weird grimace that showed mandibles protruding from its gums, dripping with sickly gray saliva.
Rikaad tried to shoot it with the crossbow not daring to get closer, but the thick chitinous segments of its heinous form made the bolts ricochet off of it.
Not really knowing what to do I tried to remember everything I knew about Manticore but the only thing that came to mind by staring at its shiny carapace was a memory of a cat swiping at a normal scorpion.
I decided that since my brain would not supply anything better, to do just that and hope not to get stung.
So getting closer and avoiding making it sting or maul the trapped form of Arthur underneath it I crouched down, trying to aim for its side to smack it away from Arthur, who had started bleeding out of a wound inflicted by the thing's legs.
Hitting it square in the side as hard as I could and sending it flying against a tree I heard a sick thud and it stopped moving.
Leaving Rikaad to deal with Arthur i went over to the manticore planning on making sure it was dead.
Inspecting the twisted form of the monster I saw it still shallowly breathing.
Not knowing what else to do as weapons were too small for me I broke off a tree branch and Stabbed it through the abdomen between two of the chitinous segments, watching sickly bluish blood lazily flow out of the wound.
I tried my best not to throw up at the awful sight and sick smell.
Tossing the branch aside and turning back to the other two.
Arthur was half lying half sitting on the ground and holding his side which at least had stopped bleeding.
I might not like the guy very much but I still did not wish anyone death.
I was not sure if going over to them would be appreciated so I decided to head back to Robin who we had left behind some trees.
“Robin?”
He popped up from a bush scanning the area as if expecting more monsters.
“Donovan! Is everything okay? What happened? Is Arthur alright?”
Bending down and plucking him out of the bush I told him about what had happened.
“There was a Manticore but its dead now so don't worry, as for Arthur im not sure but Rikaad is with him”
Clinging to my fingers he tried to look between the trees to see where the other two were.
“Can you bring me to them?”
He asked and even if he could walk the short distance himself I brought him over.
Rikaad was bandaging a gash in Arthurs side where the Monster had slashed at him with its legs, Arthur's armor set neatly aside.
Arthur himself seemed to be okay and was complaining about getting bandages, insisting he was fine.
Seeing me come closer with Robin in my hands he paled a little but did not say anything.
“Arthur! Are you okay?”
Robin shouted, trying to climb down on me before I could set him on the ground, so lowering my hand he jumped off, stumbling for a second then running straight for Arthur.
But before he could tackle him in a hug he was stopped by Rikaad who put a hand on the smaller boy.
“Careful! I don't want this to start bleeding again so make sure you’re mindful about that okay?”
Robin nodded enthusiastically and went to sit at Arthurs side.
I debated if I should leave for good now that nobody's attention was on me before Rikaad winked me down to talk.
So, sitting on the ground once more a bit away from the Injured Arthur that was currently being fussed over by a very energetic Robin, I faced Rikaad not really knowing why he had wanted to speak to me again.
“I want to apologize for shooting you with the tranquiliser crossbow and also thank you for saving Arthur, even if he insulted you you still stepped up to help when i could not get close to the manticore so thank you for saving my friend”
Well this was not what i had expected but i guess it was appreciated.
“Uh well dying to one of those beasts would suck wouldn't it?”
I stammered out a bit dumbfounded, he had apologized for shooting me AND thanked me for helping Arthur, who was now trying to shove Robin off of himself.
But I still couldn't really place the guy, he was a bit unnerving regardless.
“I do have to ask though if you know the way back to Kamerasca as it seems none of us can remember the way”
I really wished I could answer that but as I had been intending on leaving the place so I didn't memorize the way I had taken.
“No idea sorry, but i've been just walking towards the mountains so maybe if you walk away from them you'll end up back in Kamerasca?”
He shook his head slowly.
“That's going to be dangerous if we don't know where we are going and i'm not sure if just walking away from the mountains won't lead us into even more dangerous areas”
“So what do you plan to do then?”
I asked him and he seemed to try and think of something.
“Would you help us? I know you have no reason to go back to a place that doesn't like you but i fear that these woods are not made for some small humans”
I knew doing this would be risky as it meant that I had to get close to Kamerasca again, but at the same time this was kind of my fault and i didn't think I could leave them to the forest’s whim at this point.
“I'll bring you close to it, but if i see any buildings i'm out”
This seemed like a reasonable solution so I would not have to be anywhere near Tunstead ever again.
Rikaad nodded at me curtly.
“Thank you, now let's get the other two”
He turned on the spot and walked back to Robin and Arthur.
What a weird guy I thought but brushed it off for now maybe he just had a strict parent or something.
Walking over to where the other two still sat on the ground I looked back at the mountain.
Well i could still go there at a later point if i wanted.
Robin perked up when he saw us come back, Arthur however looked mildly annoyed at the fact that he now had at least two flower crowns on his head made from dandelions.
“The weird plant juice is making my hair sticky”
He complained at Robin who just laughed and stuck his tongue out at him.
Arthur then turned to face Rikaad.
“So what do we do now? Which way do we need to take to go home?”
Rikaad pointed at me.
“He said we had to go away from the mountain to get back but i'm not sure if we won't end up in even more danger this way, so i asked him to tag a long for a bit”
A huge smile appeared on Robin's face while Arthur clenched his jaw but didn't object to it even if he still looked at me with a death glare.
“As long as we get home i guess”
He slowly stood up mindful about his injury.
Robin walked up to him offering a hand.
“I'm fine just a small cut”
That did not look like a ‘small cut’ i thought, but it didn't look all that bad either.
“So what direction do we need to go now?”
Arthur seemed still a bit uneasy about the entire manticore thing, eyes occasionally glancing at the corpse.
“Away from the mountains, we have been walking towards them the entire time, so if we walk with them at our backs we should find home in no time”
Motioning for all of us to follow he started walking Arthur stumbled after him and Robin jumped up to go after them.
Lagging behind a few seconds I also started walking with them.
I soon realized that this was Slow, maybe not for a human but I was a Giant now which meant I had way longer legs than them.
Having to stop all the time to not just step over them was rather annoying.
Robin seemed to notice and motioned to talk to all of us.
“We are not as fast as you, Maybe it would be faster if you pick us up?”
At this proposal Arthur paled once again and even Rikaad seemed a bit uneasy.
“I don't think i want to do that, honestly i’d rather not aggravate the cut on my side by being grabbed so let's not?”
He seemed nervous and I could understand that, After all, our first encounter did not go well.
Robin however immediately walked up to me and put his arms over his head in what I could only link to a child asking to be picked up.
I decided that grabbing was off the table as I was pretty sure if I did that Arthur would stab me, so instead I put my hand on the Ground for Robin to climb on.
He did so with no hesitation sitting down in my palm while Arthur glared at me and Rikaad just watched with those unnerving eyes of his.
I could just not tell what he was thinking, which at the moment was scarier than any monsters to me.
Standing up again we resumed walking, still at a stupidly slow pace to me but forward nonetheless.
Carefully cupping my hands to my chest and slowly dragging my feet over the floor I went after the two that had decided to walk themselves.
It was really boring to slowly drag myself after them, and also awkwardly silent.
It took a good hour until someone said something again.
“I think we should look for a camping spot before it gets dark”
Rikaad was the one to break the silence, and looking up I did indeed see that the sun was way lower than before.
I wondered how long I was out cold from the tranquiliser as it was not even midday when I got shot with it.
“How long was I out for? That Tranquiliser must be one hell of a drug to put me out for hours”
Rikaad was once again the one to talk
“About four hours but i might be off”
Four hours huh, well that was a good chunk of the day wasted just lying on the forest floor.
Speaking of the forest floor, it seemed we had to make some room between trees as we could not find any more open areas.
Setting Robin down and shoving an uprooted tree away, I sat down while the smaller Humans gathered firewood.
Looking up at the sky and watching it change color till they managed to get a fire going.
I flinched when I heard the crossbow go off again but I wasn't the one that got shot, I realized quickly as a dead bird fell on top of me.
“What the fuck”
Plucking the carcass from my shoulder and holding it into the fading sunlight I saw that it was a white bird with grayish mottled wings.
Looking down I saw Robin trying not to laugh and Rikaad looking still as stone faced as ever, Arthur looked at me with shock probably expecting me to do something bad.
Chucking the dead Bird at Rikaad who expertly catched it, I leaned against a tree which creaked a bit under my weight.
I'd be insulted by this if I wasn't a giant now.
“You're a good shot but please don't drop dead birds on me”
Something that I thought was the smallest hint of a smile appeared on his lips but as soon as I saw it it was gone again.
“I will try my best”
He handed the carcass over to Robin who set about preparing the bird by plucking out all feathers and carving the guts out.
All three of them looked tired but I was still wide awake, probably because I spent four hours unconscious in the middle of the day.
I wondered if i could sleep tonight at all or if my sleep schedule was fucked now.
Deciding not to worry about it now I instead watched what the smaller men were up to.
Robin was cooking the bird Rikaad had shot, Rikaad himself was fiddling with the crossbow, apparently fine tuning it.
Arthur was using a whetstone to sharpen his blade, the rhythmic shrrrap shrrrap providing a constant background noise.
He occasionally glanced up at me but when he saw that I was looking at him he turned his head down again very fast.
The smell of the cooking Bird was delicious but I still did not feel hungry.
I decided that since the bird was too small to be of any use to me that I would not ask for a piece of it.
Instead I looked at the cursed Bracelet a bit more.
It was a grayish pale metal but not iron as iron would sometimes give me a rash when I was exposed to it too long.
Silver maybe? But silver did not conduct magic as far as I was aware.
So whatever the pale metal part was it could not be either of those.
The other parts however seemed to be made of Bronze and gold with the Bronze forming a sort of swirling pattern.
It had various green gems inlaid, none of which I recognized.
“What are you looking at?”
The Question put me out of my trance and I looked down to see who had asked me that.
Robin was staring up at me holding what appeared to be a cooked bird leg and a piece of its wing.
“I'm just inspecting this Cursed thing, don't worry i'm not gonna mess with it”
I tapped the Bracelet to show what I meant before putting my arm down again.
“Aha”
He looked at the meat in his hands and then back at me.
“Id share with you if you want”
While it was nice of him to offer i knew that it was not enough for me even if he had offered me the entire bird, so i winked him off.
“Keep it, that's not enough for me anyway so no need for me to take yours”
“If you're sure”
He sat down on the Ground where he was and started biting chunks of flesh out of the leg.
I noticed that both Rikaad and Arthur were also staring at me.
Did they expect me to do something? I knew that Robin hadn't told them about me being able to eat people, but it still seemed like they were waiting for me to attempt to do so.
Well given the amount of horror stories about Giants and all sorts of big creatures it was no surprise.
It still stung a little but I guessed that there was no way for me to prove that I wasn't a monster.
I just hoped that we found our way back to Kamerasca so I could leave and deal with this stupid curse somehow.
I just hoped I did not have to cut off my own arm to do so.
I heard someone shuffling around near me and looking down I saw that Rikaad had stood up.
“We should sleep. Who is volunteering for the first shift of the night watch?”
Rikaad looked at all of us equally as he asked and I decided that since I had a good four hours of tranquiliser induced sleep already that I would volunteer for the first one.

Still Subject to Change Chapter 4 (NEW)

Hello everyone! i decided to repost arc 1 of SSTC

Tumblr media
Waking up it took me a few seconds to remember what had transpired yesterday until I felt a slight movement within my Storage Organ.
I decided to just call it a Pouch from now on as I had linked it to a coin pouch the previous night to make it better understandable for the small Rusthead.
I still felt bad about what I had done yesterday, and lying on the cold hard ground all night didn't help that.
At least the snow had mostly melted and it was warm again now that the sun was up.
Getting up very slowly and carefully to not disturb the sleeping form in my Pouch, I debated if i should wake him up or let him sleep.
On one hand waking him up meant he could get out like I had promised yesterday.
On the other hand if I woke him up he might get another panic attack should he take too long to actually remember what happened.
In the end I decided to try and wake him as gently as possible by softly poking at him through the flesh of my Pouch.
I felt him roll over and mumbled something along the lines of.
“Ten more minutes it's comfy”
He resumed back to a curled up position seemingly not disturbed much.
While I was touched that he wanted to stay, I knew he was not really awake enough to actually know where he was at the moment.
That, and no being that was by their right senses would willingly stay inside of another, bigger creature.
So I attempted again to wake him only to get the same result, and a third time had him cover his ears with his arms while sleeping, well at least it felt like he did that.
So I decided to let him be for now and continued along the river towards Wyrmhurst mountain after picking up the items I had chucked aside yesterday.
Walking in silence suddenly felt weird now that I had apparently become used to Robin's blabbering in the short time he was stuck with me.
But after some time I felt Robin move again and I stopped dead in my tracks waiting if he would flip out again.
I prayed he wouldn't.
“nrmm wha- oh OH uh Donovan?”
Not sure if he was about to panic, I rushed to reassure him.
“Hey good morning! Are you okay? Do you remember what happened yesterday?”
“I'm fine, what time is it? Is it morning? Is it still cold?”
Looking around and watching if my breaths still made little clouds, I saw that only some snow was left in the more shadowy areas and my breath did not make any clouds anymore.
“it's warmer now so if you want out you can, we are right next to the river so you can wash too”
I waited for his response, and a small part of me secretly hoped that he wanted to stay, as his little movements sent a thrill through my nervous system but I shoved those thoughts away again.
If he wanted out I would let him out.
“uh okay i'd like to come out, but like how? I mean how do you plan to get me out?”
I was glad he did not freak out so spitting him up should be easy.
“i'm gonna spit you up, just stay still, take a breath and relax you'll be out in a minute”
Preparing to chuck him up I tensed my muscles and started pushing up from the bottom of the pouch to shove him up as I had done countless times with various valuables.
Just this time it was a living thinking being.
I decided not to think about it too hard.
I was thankful that he had heeded my advice on staying still, as I would have probably choked on the large form traveling up my esophagus.
Feeling him at the back of my throat I reached in with two fingers to pluck his slightly slimy form out.
Dangling in front of me by the back of his tunic was the bedraggled looking Robin, he was shielding his eyes tucking his legs up again and for a moment i thought he was afraid again until he murmured
“Why's it so bright? I don't like it”
Ah so he was just avoiding the sunlight and not cowering in fear, that was a relief.
“That's the sun, just like everyday, you wanna wash up now?”
“I'm starting to hate everything yellow but yeah i'd like to get-”
He gestured at the thin layer of slime coating him
“-this of off me”
Setting him next to the river I let him slowly climb in clothes and all while keeping an eye on him, as I was not sure how well he could swim and I'd rather not have him drown.
Crouching next to the river bank I kept on the lookout for anything that could be dangerous.
Putting his items on the ground and hearing him complain how freezing cold the water was, I unbound my Handkerchief from my wrist and held it in my hands to warm it up a bit.
Looking at Robin who had just climbed out of the river dripping with water and shivering from the cold, I offered the cloth I had kept warm in my hands.
He gratefully took it and wrapped himself into it like a caterpillar.
“T-thanks this i-is re-really c-cold”
He was chattering with his teeth and looking like a miserable kitten.
“You uh you want your items?”
I gestured awkwardly to his stuff lying on the floor.
The smaller man looked at them for a moment then back at me.
“I think if I took them now they'd just get wet. Can you carry them?”
I gently pocketed his armor and boots at his request and offered my hand for him to climb on.
He just looked at me blankly for a few seconds before he got it and awkwardly scrambled into my palm, the Blanket hindering his movement a bit.
Standing up again with the cold form of Robin carefully cupped in my Hand i picked up walking along the river but something was nagging me still.
“Robin?”
I spoke softly, making him look up at me.
“About yesterday…”
“no negative feelings, but i really didn't mean to bite you i spaced out again it was an accident”
While I was glad there were no hard feelings, I still had a question.
“How do you bite someone on accident?”
He moved awkwardly under the blanket and seemed to think for a few seconds while trying to disappear into the cloth completely.
“Well i was asleep and i dunno what i was dreaming but the others said i sometimes start chewing stuff, i used to chew on everything as a bad habit but i stopped when i joined the Guards school”
“I have actually bitten Arthur before, i think he still has the teeth marks on his elbow i'm just glad he didn’t rat me out about my age to the headmasters”
So biting just about everything was a bad habit of his and he’d even bitten some of his friends.
But the added bit of not getting snitched on about his age made me pause.
I knew one had to be eighteen like I was to join the training so it made me wonder how old he actually was.
“Wait a second, how old are you? You have to be eighteen to join the guards”
He suddenly went very still.
“Well uhm well im -im sixteen”
Knowing this it made sense as to why he was smaller than most of the guards I had ever seen.
He wasn't even an adult, now it made sense why he was so scrawny.
“You mean you're younger than me? And how did you manage to convince the headmasters?”
He seemed to debate with himself for a moment before filling his lungs and spewing out something barely comprehensible.
“Well i when i was thrown out by my alcoholic Dad i ended up running into Arthur, and we both somehow ended up stopping a thief so the headmasters let us join but only if we both were old enough so i lied”
He looked at me like i was going to judge him for it, Which frankly I couldn't really as I knew the streets were not a friendly place to be, so taking that over sleeping in an alley really was the better option.
“I'll make you a deal you don't tell anyone about my doubled organs and I won't rat you out about your age, seems fair?”
He grinned at me and nodded, suddenly a lot happier.
“Sure! No idea who i could tell anyway besides the boys in my group and i don't think anyone would believe me”
Boys? Plural? So not just the blonde guy? I decided to not bring it up.
Instead I worried what would happen if someone found out about what had happened yesterday.
“Also maybe don't tell anyone what i did yesterday, you know what i mean, they would kill me immediately”
I hoped he wouldn't ever tell anyone that I literally…ate…him as i really didn't want to deal with a manhunt for me, The other humans probably wouldn't listen past ‘ate him’ and just set out to kill me with whatever weapons they had to get rid of the ‘Monster’.
“You mean the part where you ate me? I guess that would sound bad”
At least Robin agreed on this with me even if speaking it out loud was still pretty awkward, And probably always would be.
Robin was still wrapped in the Handkerchief that he turned into a blanket and slowly drying while fiddling with the cloth.
“Hey Donovan? What other plants are like, not gonna kill me when I bite them?”
I was a bit surprised at the question but figured I could indulge him a bit.
I kinda did owe him after what had happened.
“Oh, well that depends on season but there are quite a lot of edible ones like the dandelions and daisies we had but there are a lot more, you want me to tell you about them?”
At his enthusiastic nodding I ended up telling him all I knew over the course of the day, and we tested everything we could find too, like wild rhubarb and some fiddlehead ferns which Robin laughed at for their weird name but ended up liking it best next to the rhubarb.
At some point it had started to get dark again and we looked for a suitable place for a camp which ended up being under a dead tree that had grown on a boulder that was easily three times my height.
I thought that despite all it was kinda cool looking rock formation.
I curled up beneath the slight overhang and this time i did not tie Robin up, instead i left the rope in my pocket and took out the slightly crumpled Boar Pelt for him to use as a mattress as he was sort of trapped in the divot the boulder made anyway i did not see any reason to tie him up tonight.
Wrapping himself in the blanket he snuggled down into the pelt and started fiddling with whatever was in his hands now and just staring at the stone overhead with a blank expression.
I was pretty sure that he had spaced out again so I just left him for now as I did not see any reason to do something about this.
But I did get slightly worried when I saw that he had not blinked in a while so I carefully nudged him with a finger.
He just rolled over and put the blanket over his head.
He'd fallen asleep with his eyes open huh…
Well that was not something i've seen before but i'd definitely heard about it.
I debated if I should try to close his eyes for him but my fingers were too big and I did not want to damage someone's face.
Leaving it be I simply took it as my clue to fall asleep myself, so after making sure there were no threats I allowed myself to be taken by slumber.
I awoke in the middle of the night to Robin basically trying to burrow under me and even attempting to crawl under my neck.
Confused, I looked around and saw that it was Snowing again which was weird considering it was supposed to be spring but apparently not.
Wait a second if it's snowing then that means it's cold again so Robin must be freezing!
While I still had no idea why the temperature didn't affect me it sure did to the smaller boy, so shifting a bit i put my arms up to where he was trying to bury himself under me.
“I thought i said to tell me when you're cold”
I mumbled sleepily and moved to a better position while grabbing the boar pelt that was left on the floor and dragged it closer to me.
Shifting to lay on my side again I put robin next to my neck and basically threw the pelt onto him while also cupping my hands around him to create a sort of warm ‘bubble’ for him.
“Thank you”
I heard a sleepy murmur as he cozied up against my neck and went back to dreaming about whatever.
Having him so close to my neck made my mind snap back to when he literally was inside of it, sliding down towards what he thought was his doom.
It made me feel bad all over again but I was glad he really didn't seem to have any negative feelings about it anymore.
He was a weird little guy for sure.
It did baffle me however that he had managed to brush it off so quickly, I did terrify him thoroughly after all but he acted rather normal?
Robin was a weird Human, but i didn't think he was a bad one, He reminded me of a lost dog at times and I hoped that never something bad would happen to him.
It was weird, caring about something other than myself for the first time in years and I didn't know what to make of it.
I also realized that as soon as the week was up in a few days I would be all alone again.
While being on my own was not something new, this time I actually dreaded the part where I would try to get by, but now in silence and just nobody to talk back to me.
I decided to shove the thought away and just go back to sleep, I would not deal with this while tired.
Making sure that Robin would stay warm I joined him in slumber.
Only to be woken up what felt like seconds after the next morning by something shoving at my cheek.
Turning my head and trying to avoid getting up I put my face into the ground even if it squished my nose a bit.
“Donovan? Get up, you're trapping the entrance!”
Hearing Robin call out to me and try to shove at my face again i finally sat up
“Is it day already?”
Peering out from under the overhang I saw that some snow was still lying on the ground and a slight breeze was blowing.
Looking down at Robin I saw that he had used the boar pelt as a sort of cape to keep warm.
“Yes its day! and luckily warmer now but i have no idea how you can stand the cold”
He seemed to be in better spirits than yesterday which i was relieved to find, but he did have a point in the cold thing
“I dunno i guess i'm just used to sleeping outside in the streets might be that”
I yawned and slowly stood up fully from my sitting position and offered my hand for him to climb on while plucking my handkerchief from the ground.
Cupping Robin to my chest again I walked over the thin layer of crunchy snow, away from the boulder with a dead tree on top, once again aiming for the mountains.
“How far away do you think it is now?”
I had the same question as it seemed that despite walking a lot everyday it still seemed far away and today was day six of Robin tagging along.
So I had to send him off to go back tomorrow.
I realized with a pang that I would be all alone again and, weirdly enough, the thought hurt.
Tomorrow I had to send the only person that had ever been nice to me away forever and I would be a complete loner again.
But this time it was a lot worse as I now knew what it was like to be able to actually talk to someone.
I once again shoved such thoughts down to where I did not have to think about them.
I instead answered Robin's question to distract myself a bit.
“I have no idea, i don't know how big the mountain is supposed to be either”
“Really weird, maybe it's some magic stuff?”
He did have a point as the mountain was said to be hexed so maybe i should choose a different place to go to.
“Well that might be true but i can tell you i have had enough magic fuckery for a lifetime”
I waved the cursed bracelet in front of him.
We ended up talking about where to go instead for a few hours and watched the snow melt as I walked over it until midday.
In the end I still had no idea if any other places existed that I could go to so I decided to backtrack a bit away from the river closer to Kamerasca again.
I knew tomorrow Robin would leave to go home and I thought getting him a bit closer would shorten the journey for him at least a little.
After another hour we came to an area with less trees and I took the opportunity to reorient myself.
As I was looking around I suddenly got stabbed by something sharp at the back of my neck, like someone had thrown a knife at me.
Plucking it out I saw that it was a wide Bolt with a metal tip that seemed to be coated in something aside from my own blood.
Through a slowly fogging up mind I recognized it as the tranquilizer bolts the Kamerasca Guards used for the manticores.
So using what was left of my coherence I put Robin in the tree next to me to avoid falling on top of him.
Just as i toppled over i saw two other human figures run to my position, Both of which carried swords and one also had the crossbow I was shot with.
Seeing black spots on the edge of my vision and losing the ability to move my last coherent thoughts were that this was how I was going to die.
Alone, with literal poison running through my veins and some Guards slashing open my throat for crimes I never committed just because I was a Fae Bastard.
My vision going completely black the last thing i heard were shrill shrieks coming from above me, something along the lines of ‘wait’ and ‘stop’ but i did not hear the rest as i finally lost all of my consciousness and everything went dark.
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Having gone to a drug induced sleep fully expecting to die, It was quite a surprise to wake up again even if it was slowly and I still couldn't move very well.
Opening my eyes and trying to figure out what the fuck happened i saw Robin arguing with two other people, one i recognized as the Blonde that had also followed me into the woods and one with even darker hair that stood a bit taller than the other two.
Lying there I tried to figure out what they were saying but it couldn't quite hear it from this distance and the after effect of the tranquiliser in my veins made a rushing noise in my ears.
However it seems my shuffling around was heard by at least one of them as the darker haired guy swiveled his head around to look at me with icy gray eyes.
Those eyes were kinda unnerving, but I really couldn't do anything at the moment except try to move an arm or a leg.
The dark haired one tapped Robin's arm who had been speaking animatedly to him till now and pointed to me while going in my direction, motioning for the blonde to stay behind.
If i remembered correctly the Blondes name was Arthur.
But I had no idea who the dark haired one was, as Robin had never Mentioned anyone else besides Arthur.
Oh wait he did say that there were Boys in his group, plural so i could guess why there was one more of them.
Stopping a short distance away from my face I glared at the dark hired individual as I saw that he was the one with the crossbow and consequently must have been the one that shot me.
He turned to face Robin.
“And you're absolutely sure of what you told me?”
Robin made a sour face and responded loudly like he'd been saying the same thing over and over again.
“YES for the last time he's an okay guy I promise!”
Oh… so the reason I wasn't dead yet was because Robin put in a good word for me, I stopped glaring and instead just looked at both of them, occasionally glancing at Arthur.
The taller of them turned again to face me with his eerie gray eyes.
“Robin has told me that you are not a Monster despite what Arthur had said to me”
I felt like there was a but coming and for a second i worried that Robin did tell them about me eating him.
“But I like to make sure of things myself so for now i'd like to just talk as civilized beings if you are willing to cooperate?”
I was relieved that Robin had kept his word about not telling anyone and even more so that the new guy just wanted to talk for now even if my jaw was still a bit numb and had that awful pins and needles sensation.
“You have a weird way of talking but sure”
I mumbled out as best as I could as I got the anthill sensation in my lower jaw making me want to scratch my face on the ground as I still had problems moving my arms.
An excited shout of.
“Told you!”
Coming from Robin who poked the taller guy in the side loosened some of the tension in the air and I mused that the tall guy must be talking like this a lot.
The tall guy in question grinned slightly and patted Robin's head then turned back to me, introducing himself.
“My name is Rikaad Drayton, you already know Robin and the Blonde one making grimaces over there is Arthur”
Deciding to return the favor and at least try to be polite even if I did not know all the rules to that sort of stuff.
“My names Donovan Verney or more commonly called Bastard”
I replied to him still trying to lighten the mood, and judging by the face Robin made it at least succeeded in making someone laugh.
“I can see that”
Rikaad replied and motioned for my pointy ears.
“But i believe that you'd prefer to be called Donovan”
I nodded at him jerkily as the numbing effect of the dart slowly wore off and decided to complain about it.
“Also what the fuck was in that dart my entire body is having those pins and needles sensation and i hate it”
Rikaad seemed to think for a second before responding
“Well its made for manticore and the like not for….uh”
“Not for Bastards isn't exactly a new phrase to me”
I griped and tried to at least sit up as talking with my face pressed into the dirt was just stupid.
I pretended not to notice Rikaad going a bit paler as I finally managed to sit up.

Still Subject to Change Chapter 3 (NEW)
——————————————————————————-
Hello everyone! i decided to repost arc 1 of SSTC
(the chapters were way too long and had a bunch of typos but hopefully this will make reading easier)
this Story contains Vore, Dont like dont read.
if there are still any grammatical errors i’m sorry.
——————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Examining him and not seeing anything that could qualify as a spider bite I tried to further calm him down by petting his hair which only worked a little bit.
“Are you good now? Are you alright?”
“I-i there was-spider in- spider so close to my face way too close- i could see its mandibles- why my face–”
I put a finger over his mouth before he ended up rambling himself into another panic attack.
“The spider is gone, were away from it don't worry”
I tried to reassure him but he was still shaking like a leaf, so I scooped him up and started removing the ropes so he could move again.
As soon as the ropes fell off he curled into a ball in my hand looking smaller than ever before.
“sorry sorry i- there was just- it was so close to my face”
He stumbled out not making much sense.
“Whatever, calm down, you can talk when you feel like it, okay?”
He nodded shakily and curled up even more as I went back to walking, this time in another direction to not meet any more surprises in this area.
The whole time Robin just laid in my hand until I managed to find an actual river, where I decided to set up camp even if it was a bit early to do so.
Setting Robin who had been silent the entire time on the ground I rummaged in my pockets for the water skin and tried to fill it up which only worked halfway as my fingers were still way too big to properly hold it.
Offering it to the strangely silent Robin while I tried to pick some Dandelions before they closed themselves overnight.
“You've been rather quiet this whole time, Are you sure that thing didn't bite you?”
He looked away for a bit then mumbled something barely audible.
“i have arachnophobia”
The soft and quiet admission did put some sense to his reaction though, so the problem wasn’t that the spider was a venomous species but that it just was a spider at all.
Watching him fiddle with his shirt hem and refusing to look at me I realized that as a prospective guard such a thing would not be tolerated and that it was a thing he would have to keep secret.
“well spiders really are ugly and i don't like them either so i guess well just avoid those fuckers in the future right?”
“you're not angry?”
He asked meekly and I was a bit put back at this question.
“Why would I be angry? it's not your fault that you have a phobia”
I remarked but still was a bit confused as to why he thought I would be angry over something he had no control over.
But then I realized that it was a Human trait to just get angry at other people and blame them even if they were not at fault, so it wasn't entirely out of the picture for him to assume I would do the same.
But I was not human, not entirely at least and for the first time in about forever I saw the good side to it.
His next words however showed that I still wasn't really any better, as humans really were all I had ever known it wasn't unusual of me to gain some of their traits.
“you- uh you said that the- that the next time i screamed like this you would- you'd... eat me…”
The last part was said so quietly that I almost didn't hear it, but now that he mentioned it I did remember hissing something like that at him when my first try to catch an animal was interrupted by his screaming.
“i'm not-”
I put my hand up to my face before gripping a bit of my hair
“I'm not gonna do that just because you have a Phobia, okay? i know i said i would but i'm not gonna just because you saw a spider”
Then I remembered what I learned on the streets, that I should never take back a bluff or nobody would ever believe me again.
“you'd have to do something really bad, for me to get angry enough to do something like that, but i don't think you could do anything that bad out here”
He did not look happy at the Clarification but said nothing about it.
“So what now?”
He asked instead and was side-eying the rope he was regularly tied up with overnight.
“same as yesterday i'd say, tie you up and then sleep”
I grabbed the rope from where it laid and started the whole spiel of binding him again, after this week i would be able to tie a knot very fast i mused.
I put Robin down next to the Dandelions I had been munching on, which had begun to close themselves as the sun went down.
Using what little light I had left, I tried to wash the blood off my Handkerchief to the best of my ability, putting it on a nearby rock to dry till tomorrow.
I went back to Robin who had already fallen asleep and lied down with my head next to him while creating a barrier over my head with my arms intertwining my fingers and using some moss as a pillow.
Looking up I saw a lot of stars, more than I had ever seen in Tunstead and wondered if the farther I got away from civilization the more of them I would see.
I kept staring at the night sky until I fell asleep to the chirping of crickets nearby.
The following morning i woke to a tugging sensation near my ear, something was messing with my hair and it was lying halfway under my head.
Staying as still as possible and trying to figure out what it was, I listened closely for any clue what was going on.
Feeling tiny hands tussling over my scalp I had no doubt that it was Robin messing with my hair, as he was the only being close enough to touch me.
The tugging was rhythmic and at some point I realized that the motion was similar to having a braid done.
I did not know why he would do that but I could somehow picture him doing that with this distant stare of his.
He seemed to space out a lot and then fiddle with whatever he could get his hands on, in this case my hair.
I debated if I should tell him I'm awake or act like I was just waking up.
In the end I chose the latter, and acting as if i was just waking up i moved a bit making him freeze like he'd been caught stealing cookies
I acted like I had just woken up and started to slowly move and get up.
“Morning, did you try to burrow under my head?”
He tried to rob away which only ended in him looking like a caterpillar as he unsuccessfully attempted to get out of the divot my head had made in the moss.
“It was cold again and i didn’t wanna wake you”
He mumbled into the ground and I nabbed him from his awkward position to remove the rope for today, which was already pretty loose anyway.
He rubbed his wrist as soon as the rope was removed and I put the spare shirt back in my pocket.
“And for the future don't try to burrow under me, you might end up getting squished”
“sorry i won't do that again, but i have no idea how you can just sleep when the ground literally freezes over”
He grumbled out tiredly and resumed to cling to my fingers as I went up to get my Handkerchief only to find that it had traces of frost all over and was still wet.
“Well at least it's free of blood now i hope it dries over the day”
I debated if I should just put it in my pocket or if I could take it with me some other way until I figured out that I could just tie it around my wrist.
Setting Robin down and shoving the water skin into his hands I told him to go fill it up as I couldn't hold it properly to fill it up.
Not letting my eyes off him I bound the cloth around my wrist and as I went over to pick him back up I saw my reflection in the water with my pointy ears, blue eyes and, as predicted, three tiny braids on one side.
I decided not to mention it as it seemed Robin got bored extremely quickly and it didn't bother me so I just left them as they were.
Placing him in my hand again I started walking again towards the mountain that loomed in the distance like a broken fangtooth, still seeming no closer than before, and just as ominous as always.
As we walked Robin seemed to fiddle with his sleeve before he asked
“did you- uh did you find out what that noise was? yesterday i mean”
I ended up telling him about the weird Creature and the maggot eating magpies as well as describing it all in a lot of detail upon request until it was well past noon.
“i think we should look for something to eat, something that's not dandelions for once”
Robin perked up a bit at that and started blabbering again.
“I agree with that! I'm starting to get sick of them.
Maybe we can find some wild Blackberries?”
“Blackberry season is in Autumn, this is wayyy to early for them i think they only just started to bloom”
He seemed a bit disappointed in that but didn't complain much otherwise.
“What else is there then? i'm not good at remembering what's edible and what's not”
“Daisies are also safe to be eaten so i guess we could look for some of those or maybe clover blossoms those work too”
I listed some of the ones from the top of my head.
“i'm starting to hate flowers i don't care that their pretty”
He grumbled and crossed his arms as best as he could in my grip again.
“fair enough, that's understandable but it's that or nothing”
I remembered plenty of times when some wild plants were all I could get so I knew it wasn't too bad even if it took some time getting full.
Strangely, I STILL did not feel any hunger whatsoever and I started wondering if this cursed Bracelet had something to do with it.
What if that continued until I died of starvation? Would I even notice it? What if I started forgetting to eat? Would I just fade away?
I hoped not.
It wasn't long before I spotted a small field with various flowers, some edible and some not.
i could see dandelions again as well as some Daisies and plantains this would do even if i had hoped to find something better.
Sitting down I put Robin next to me and started to stuff flowers in my mouth, never looking away for more than a minute.
It took some time getting enough that I considered to keep going, so picking Robin up again who had made once more a flower crown I went back to walking through the forest.
After about 2 hours I walked into an area that had a lot more underbrush than normal which made it hard to navigate inside of it and sometimes even completely blocking my path making me backtrack for a bit.
Looking back down at my hand while walking I saw that Robin had fallen asleep again, he really must have been tired to nod off like this.
The sky would soon be getting darker again so I decided to look for a place to camp in the thicker underbrush.
As I was walking I suddenly felt a painful sensation in the thinner skin between the thumb and pointer finger of the hand I held Robin in.
He'd Bitten me!
I dropped him on reflex and he let out a startled yelp, running off through the underbrush as I cursed loudly at the blood seeping out.
despite being small he had an impressive jaw strength i gave him that.
But now I had to go catch him again and maneuvering through the thicket proved to be very difficult.
As I ran searching for him while the sky went darker overhead, a hundred scenarios went through my head.
Did he plan this?
Was he looking for an opportunity like this all along?
To get away as soon as he got the chance?
Was any of what he told me even true?
I knew Humans lied a lot so it wasn't completely out of the picture that he'd done just that.
I started to get angry about this.
Of course no Human would ever want to spend time with a Bastard!
why did I even think that the little small talks were anything but a ploy to get me to lower my guard, to make me feel at ease in his presence.
He really was just like the other Humans and i didn't know why I ever thought someone would just randomly be friendly with me.
He was a Prospective Guard for fucks sake of course he would just ditch me the first chance he got.
And now he would probably get the army to kill me or something if I didn't catch him first.
All but stomping through the thicket and sometimes getting branches in my face when I wasn't shielding it with my arms, I saw him trip over a fallen log and scramble to get up again.
Easily stepping over some bushes i bent down grab him just as he got up, covering his mouth with a finger as i didn't want to hear some dumb sorry excuse for biting me.
He BIT me out of nowhere there was no good explanation for that other than trying to get away.
The fire of anger in my head did not subside as I walked over to where I could hear the river.
Settling down next to a huge boulder I could lean on, I thought about what to do now.
simply tying him up again would not soothe my rage but it sure would stop him from escaping again.
Looking down at Him I saw and felt him visibly shaking as well as fighting back tears.
Good! with how angry i was about all of this he damn well could feel a little fear!
There was still blood seeping from the bite wound that was actually bigger than expected and more painful than I anticipated for something like this.
I Glared at him furious at the indignity I had suffered.
I put Robin in my other hand to wipe the crimson liquid off on my shirt and freeing his mouth in the process.
Tumblr media
He immediately started wailing and crying out
“I'm sorry! I didn't mean to bite you! I don't know why I did that! Please don't kill me! Please, I'm sorry! It was an accident!”
He was rambling again but I only half listened as I got the blood off my hand gripping him a bit thighter i raised him up towards my face.
Baring my teeth and showing off canines that were way too long and sharp to ever belong to any human, I growled at him.
“An accident my ass! you're just like all the other humans! double crossing me whenever the chance arrives! like HELL you didn't plan to escape the second you could! I don't know why I EVER thought a HUMAN of all things would be nice to ME!”
As i loudly told him what i thought he started squirming in earnest and trying his best to wiggle out of my grip whimpering loudly
“Please, I'm sorry! don't kill me! don't eat me!”
Eat him? ah yes i threatened to do that didn't i?
That would be possible of course, after all i was big enough to do that now.
I wouldn't kill him of course as the only thing i was proud of was to be able to say that i had never killed anyone or anything that classified as a person.
But I could put him in the Storage organ, though he didn't have to know that it existed.
“don't what?”
I hissed at him shifting my grip to have him dangle by the back of his chainmail.
That had to go I realized, and started ripping it off of him as well as the leather tunic and his Boots.
“Don't eat me”
He squeaked and tried to tuck his legs closer to his chest.
Chucking the stripped off items on the ground next to me I lifted him a bit higher and gripped his torso forcing his legs to straighten out.
“Too bad”
Pushing him Head first into my mouth his legs started to flail as much as they could and I could hear high pitched screams buzzing in my Skull.
It was a weird sensation as I had never taken something alive into my mouth but it was manageable, so, tipping my head back I shoved him all the way in and swallowed hard.
************************************************************************
Robin was in a place he assumed to be worse than hell.
He truly didn't mean to bite Donovan; he just spaced out again!
Seeing the white Blocks of bone that were bigger than his head that had to be teeth he Screamed, those could easily crush his skull in a single bite!
Flailing wildly with his legs and trying not to get close to the ivory boulders he started pleading to be let go and that it truly was an accident!
he had spaced out again!
But it seemed he was not heard as suddenly everything was tipped forwards and he could see down the throat before a loud ‘GLK’ sent him down towards the throat.
He Realized that Donovan didn't plan to bite his head off, but he wondered if that was any consolation considering where he was headed.
Maybe it would have been better to die a swift death between those Teeth than melt away to nothing in acid while still alive.
Screaming again and trying his best not to go down any farther by bracing his elbows on the side of the throat, but another push on his feet sent him even deeper in and pressed his arms to his sides.
The walls that squished him and rendered him immobile tugged him deeper down in a rhythmic motion after a second ‘glurk’ sounded out.
He distantly could feel a different pressure coming from one of the walls of the tube he was currently trapped in.
It took him a moment to realize that that must have been Donovan's hand poking at him, to make sure he didn't choke on Robin? to make sure he went down smoothly? or to gloat?
Robin didn't know, didn't want to know, he just wanted out! but a third and last swallow sent his writhing form even deeper into the core of the Giant, past the loudly beating heart, away from the prodding fingers, and into a fleshy chamber that had just enough room for him to comfortably sit in without being too claustrophobic.
There would have even been enough space for another person to sit next to him without being squished together too badly he noted grimly.
Turning around and wiggling into an upright position left him sitting there stunned for a few seconds.
He was surprised to still be in one piece and hadn't gotten chewed up like the Boar a few days ago.
Starting to panic he did the only thing he could think of.
He screamed as loud as he could and started kicking and punching everything he could, hoping to make Donovan nauseous and spit him back up.
He didn't want to die! Especially not like this!
The walls of the fleshy chamber were damp, and he didn't know if the Liquid running over his cheeks were his own tears or the beginnings of stomach acid.
He screamed again as he slipped over and his arm landed in a puddle of what he presumed to be acids.
Scrambling up again he immediately went back to punching and kicking, desperately hoping he could cause enough of a fuss that he would be freed.
************************************************************************
After Robin slipped out from where my fingers could press in on him and spilled into my storage organ that was previously only used to hide valuables, I realized that this might not have been such a great idea.
He was kicking and screaming and sometimes it hit something sensitive.
It wasn't too painful but sure as hell uncomfortable and would start to ache later, maybe even bruise.
Looking up as something soft and cold landed on my nose I saw that it had begun to snow softly.
Great, as if this night wasn't already absolutely awful! Now it would get really cold too, so sleeping comfortably was off the table.
Not that I could anyway with the current situation.
And i couldn't block out his screams either as covering my ears wouldn’t protect me from sounds literally inside of me.
Looking straight forward trying to focus on these strange sensations and wanting at least the assault on my guts to stop.
“STOP KICKING ME! for fucks sake you're fine!”
I bellowed out but he didn't seem to hear me and I started debating on what to do.
He either didn't hear me or ignored what I said so I tried to squish him by pressing my hands into my storage stomach.
He only screamed louder and started thrashing worse than before, still having some room to move about.
So thinking quickly I filled my lungs with as much air as possible and leaned forward while pushing my hands into my middle.
This did effectively squish him and he went quiet, only twitching a bit and shaking like a leaf.
Holding him like this made me notice that i could feel everything he did, from his arms trying to move, his chest heaving with his breaths and even his way too fast heartbeat.
Now that I wasn’t that angry anymore i felt bad for having done this, it really wasn't his fault that he got stuck with me, and trying to get home was a normal thing to do.
Still holding my hands over the squished Robin i heard him sob, not wail or scream, just sob, and I felt even worse than before.
“please *sob* don't kill me, I'm sorry please *sob* Please let me out i don't wanna die…”
Hearing his heartbreaking crying I suddenly felt incredibly guilty for what I just did.
I truly hadn't meant to scare him this badly! I really needed to work on my anger issues.
Looking at the softly falling snow that had started to cover the ground I tried to think of a way to comfort him, so easing up on the squishing I attempted to speak quietly but still loud enough to be heard.
“Hey”
I said softly and felt him flinch into one of the walls trying to curl up again now that he had the space to do so.
“What do you want?”
the words he spoke were said in a dejected manner, like he had given up…
“I- look i'm sorry i didn't mean to scare you this bad but i promise you're safe! you're not in my stomach right now”
He slowly uncurled a bit and touched one of the walls before taking his hand back.
“How do I know you're telling the truth?”
The words were hesitantly and quietly spoken like he was afraid of the answer.
Taking a breath, I thought about how to word this best.
“I swear by the entirety of my Faeblood that i will not hurt you, i might be a Bastard but my fae half still prevents me from breaking any promises i've ever made”
He uncurled a bit more, seemingly a bit more at ease now.
“If this isn't your Stomach where am I then?
He seemed less scared now and was asking comprehensible questions too, albeit still a bit timidly.
Looking at the snow, who was falling worse than before, I tried to explain it to him as best as I could.
“Well, remember when I told you I had some of my organs doubled? yeah that's one of those, it doesn't work though and i have used it as a coin pouch in the past”
I hoped that this description was at least somewhat understandable.
“So you just… used this as your coin holder? did you not get sick?”
He had uncurled almost completely by now and was shyly poking at the walls.
I tried not to think too much about the fact that it felt good and instead shoved the thought away.
Laughing a bit at his Question i replied to him.
“No luckily not but i had to be careful still some of them were sharp”
I started rubbing a bit at him and at first he flinched away again before leaning back to the front of my Pouch back to the wall.
“Can you let me out then?”
I winced at the question seeing that the snow was even worse than before and i was somehow not being affected by the temperature, but feeling the snow crystals that laid on the ground crunch under my hand, I knew that if i let him out now he'd get sick from the cold.
“I can't, it started snowing and you'd get sick immediately not to mention that right now you're not dry thanks to me but I promise i'll let you out in the morning!”
I hoped this wouldn’t make him upset again but if he insisted I would let him out and try to keep him warm by using some other method if I found one.
“Snow? But it's spring, why would it snow? how cold is it?”
Looking around I saw frost covering every bit of ground that was not near me and my breath coming out in little clouds.
“Very cold, the ground froze and my breath makes little clouds, i think you'd just freeze the moment i get you out, but if you truly want to come out i'll try to make a fire or something”
He seemed to think about it for a second.
“i'm not sure if i like this, but i don't wanna freeze either so i'm staying for now i guess”
I was secretly glad he chose to stay, not because I liked the feeling now that he stopped kicking but because spitting him up on this cold would have made him sick and I did not have any medicine.
I tried to slowly lie down to get into a sleeping position even if i probably shouldn't with weather like this but i was too tired to care about that.
Feeling Robin try to brace himself as I moved to lay on the cold ground my brain kept denying that having something moving in there felt good.
I was honestly a bit scared of that part.
What if I started eating random people?
It truly might be best to disappear from any civilization and just vanish into the woods.
Not that anyone wanted a Bastard like me in their Kingdom anyway.
I felt a weird sting at the thought and I was confused as to why?
I had believed up until now that there was absolutely nobody that would ever like me.
But Robin was the first person I spent more than a day or two with and he somehow still doesn't seem to actually hate me but now he probably feared me after I literally ate him.
As I laid on the ground I sensed Robin move to get comfy and put a hand over my Pouch where I felt him.
He was snuggling into the ‘floor’ and yawned before curling up and slowly falling asleep.
He must have been exhausted after such a scare and thinking he was going to die.
I felt extra bad about it now.
Looking up at the stars and slowly falling snow my hand went back over my pouch and started to softly rub against it.
I literally held an entire life inside my own body which was weird to think about and a little scary too, because I was now responsible for everything and he couldn't even defend himself from any outside forces.
It shouldn't be possible either, but this weird Bracelet had done something to make me a Giant.
Feeling Robin snuggle closer to my hand I continued to massage the spot he was under until I myself fell asleep, still trying to ignore the way my brain told me that having something living inside felt good.

Still Subject To Change Chapter 2 (NEW)
——————————————————————————-
Hello everyone! i decided to repost arc 1 of SSTC
(the chapters were way too long and had a bunch of typos but hopefully this will make reading easier)
this Story contains Vore, Don't like don't read.
if there are still any grammatical errors i’m sorry.
——————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Silently stalking closer i planned to just grab it and get back to where i left Robin i was startled by a Loud shout of.
“HELP HELP I’M KIDNAPPED SOMEONE HELP THEY TIED TO A TREE”
The deer of course ran away as soon as the wailing started and I was left once again without anything to eat.
At this point it was a wonder that i did not feel any Hunger Pains but i sure WAS feeling Angry now as this was the second time i got interrupted while getting something to eat.
All but Dashing through the surrounding greenery not caring if the branches cut my skin I waltzed into the clearing I had left Robin in, who was still shouting but stopped when he saw me.
Yanking him from the tree and holding him in front of my face i hissed angrily
“What’s the big idea? you WANT some Monster to come get you? Because of your screaming I lost the Deer i was hunting so I didn’t get anything to eat yet again! do that one more time and you’re the one to replace the meat, got it?!”
He was looking at me thoroughly horrified and with tears beginning to form in his eyes while he shook in my hand struggling to breathe from me holding him a bit too tight
“I’m sorry! I'm Sorry! I saw a Road and thought if someone was there they would get me free! I’m sorry! i didn’t know you already had seen something I'm sorry! please don’t kill me”
He cried out, starting to weep softly to himself.
Looking at the weeping boy in my grasp I started to feel a bit guilty for scaring him like this.
I changed how I held him so he could breathe easier and instead cupped him to my chest next to my heart, sighing.
“I’m not gonna kill you, just don’t scream like that again okay?”
I tried to calm him down while not looking at him.
The entirety of this nonsense was Harder than I thought, I never had to take care of another living being and I did not know what to do.
“Look i apologize for shouting at you but i got angry and i really haven’t had anything of sustenance in three days I'm surprised my stomach didn’t just eat itself yet”
He was still curled up but he stopped weeping into my shirt but he kept refusing to look at me.
“Also, you mentioned a road? I don’t think there’s supposed to be anything this far out? Can you point me to it?”
He looked up and pointed towards a place a bit down the slight slope we were on and I could actually see a sort of path there.
“Can you stay quiet this time when I check that out?”
I asked him softly and started walking to where he pointed at me trying to be as quiet as I could once again.
Robin still didn’t really look at me but he did keep quiet until we reached what did look like a small road in the middle of a forest but it was far more muddy than any human made path and had no footprints that could belong to any sort of human.
It did however have lots of animal prints like Deer and what i assumed to be wolves
“this is an animal trail! oh that’s actually lucky!”
Robin finally looked at me, suddenly seeming a bit more eager to do something.
“So you mean we can set a trap here?”
“i guess but i have no idea how to make one though”
I admitted to him and tried to think of other ways to catch something, Maybe I should try to just ambush it?
“I know how to make one! i can tell you how, but uhh you need the rope for that”
I looked back at him and considered what he told me,
On one hand he could use this to try to escape again.
On the other hand, the trap I’d be making had a chance to actually work and I could still just hold him to prevent him from running away.
“Alright fine if you know how to do it tell me”
I started unraveling the rope around him as I spoke and made sure to hold onto him as the last of it fell down.
“oh.. well you need two tree trunks and some sticks also a rock”
he started to explain while he clung to one of my fingers that were holding him and just generally tried to move his arms that had been bound since yesterday.
Picking up everything he asked me one handed and putting it in a heap next to the trail, I still had no idea what type of trap this would make.
“soo now explain to me what to do and i will build it as you tell me but no funny business got it?”
He nodded and started instructing me on how to build the Trap.
As I went along with his instruction I realized that the Trap consisted of the principle of just smashing whatever walked through between the two trunks I had to get.
Well that would definitely be effective albeit a bit Grim.
“I think it looks good! you’re not a bad builder!”
Robin’s praise at my building skills caught me a bit off guard but I regained my composure just as fast.
“Now we wait somewhere and for the love of all the rivers of Hell be quiet this time!”
He nodded and put his hands over his mouth to show that he would be as silent as possible.
looking around and deciding to just walk around a fair bit away from the trap to wait if it catched anything, as well as try to find some edible plants in the meantime.
Walking through between the stocky old trees while Robin just hung limply in my grasp, apparently rather bored I eventually found a patch of dandelions not too far from the trap.
“Hey look, those are edible, do you want some?”
Robin looked at when i was pointing and the asked confusedly
“they’re edible? i thought they were just some weeds”
“no they’re perfectly edible i think some of the poorer people in Tunstead used them to make salads and i’ve had my fair share of them too”
I told him and proceeded to sit down next to the Flowers, ripping a few of their stems.
Gods the Blossom looked absolutely miniscule in my Hand, a single one didn’t even cover my fingertip anymore when they used to fit perfectly in the middle of my palm.
Sitting Cross Legged on the grass I set Robin in front of me.
“don’t run i WILL catch you”
“i don’t think i could outrun you, your legs are longer than i’m tall”
He also sat on the ground and started ripping flowers out of the dirt and started fiddling with them.
“Donovan? What did you do that the Lady at the market flipped out like that? the way she screamed made it sound like you stabbed someone to death or something”
Ah yeah that question had to come up sometime as neither of the Guards could have actually seen what had happened
“i stole a piece of Bread and the Lady saw my pointy ears so i guess that's enough to make someone scream bloody murder”
I decided to answer honestly as there really was no point in lying and I’ve never been one to outright deceive people.
“thats…Thats it? with how the Lady was screaming it sounded like you murdered her Husband or something”
he was still fiddling with the Dandelions in his hands but seemed a lot more at ease upon finding out that i had not killed anyone
I continued picking up the flowers and stuffing them into my mouth even if it was such a small amount compared to my new size.
Glancing down now and again to make sure Robin stayed put, I saw him having that 100 yard stare again while he just messed with the flowers in his hands.
I was not sure if i should say something or nudge him but he did say that this happened rather frequently so i left it be.
At least until a Booming sound echoed through the forest making me flinch and he let out a rather adorable high pitched squeak.
I decided not to comment on it and instead tried to think of something that could make such a sound while scooping him into my Hands once again while standing up.
“uhh i think that was the trap? should we look?”
Robin pointed out nervously and shakily held the flowers he was fiddling with a few seconds ago which I now saw had been made into a Flower Crown, which fell to the ground as I stood up.
“sure, i hope it got something in it though”
I did really hope the trap got something as I’ve been running on basically nothing for three days now, even if strangely enough I still did not feel any hunger whatsoever, pushing it off as stress from being a Giant I went back to where the trap was with Robin in my hand.
This was getting inconvenient but my shirt had no pockets so I would just have to deal with it.
Getting to the Trap it did indeed work as there was something that Resembled a Boar even if it had its skull smashed in by the Tree Trunks that were used to build this thing.
The only recognizable feature in its face were the Tusks.
The overall size of this thing was also impressive as it was longer than Robin was tall, about seven feet in length.
“Jackpot, that thing got a lot of meat on it don’t you think?”
I grinned down at Robin who was staring at the Animal with an unreadable expression.
“i didn’t think this would have enough strength to just pulverize a skull”
He admitted and looked in sort of horrified realization at it while I tried to pry our catch free one handed.
I succeeded in pulling the Boar out between the Logs but the motion caused blood to spill from its smashed skull running over my fingers and making the Scarlet liquid stick to my hand.
Gross, I hoped I could find a way to clean that.
Walking away with both hands occupied, I went back to the little clearing the Dandelions were in and nabbed a few branches with the hand that held the boar so we could make a fire.
However, upon setting things up I realized that I was way too big to properly prepare the meat.
Robin was staying unusually quiet and just kept staring at the Boar before he asked
“Can you carve it at your size? Do you even have a knife?”
“No to both of those but if i give you a knife and you promise not to use it to attack me would you prepare it? i would probably just mess it up with my too big Hands”
I knew giving him anything sharp at all would be a risk but at this point it had been three and a half days since i had anything to eat and i knew that a body couldn’t just function on nothing.
Reaching into my pocket and Giving him his Dagger back for the time being I set him in front of the Boar so he could get to work while i tried to make a fire,
but I never took my eye off of him for long to ensure he would not suddenly run up and stab me.
It took quite a few tries but eventually i managed to get a fire going just as Robin told me he was done
“What am I supposed to do with the guts? i don’t want to leave them next to the Campsite, who knows what monster might get Lured by the smell”
He did have a point in that so I started to dig a hole to bury the bloody entrails.
As Robin stood up I noticed that his front was soaked in Boarblood so I took my Handkerchief out once again.
“you’re also kinda bloody wash up with this while i cook”
I tossed the cloth at him and he started trying to get all of the blood off himself with the oversized fabric while we waited for the meat to cook.
When the meat was finally done and I took it off the fire the Sky had started to take on a magenta hue which only intensified as I extinguished the flames with some of the dirt I had dug up earlier.
Not really knowing how to share this thing I simply ripped off a leg and gave it to Robin who took it rather awkwardly from me and tried to just bite chunks out of it while I tried to think of a way to eat my portion as I could not possibly pull the meat off the bones.
In the end I just shoved it into my mouth, biting the Boar in half, crunching on it firmly, easily destroying bones that would have been too large to even be put in my mouth before.
Robin just looked at me with a rather horrified expression as I stuffed the second half of the Boar in my mouth.
He only managed to eat about half of the leg, maybe a bit less and just held the leftovers out to me.
“im done, you can have this also”
I carefully took the half eaten leg from him with two fingers and devoured it in a single bite.
“so uh i think we should camp here for the night cause i don’t want to walk through these woods when it’s dark”
I went to take the rope out again so we could repeat yesterday’s spiel.
“Can we not tie me up this time? i hate trying to sleep while bound its uncomfy and i get that pins and needles sensation in my arms”
He tried to persuade me so I wouldn’t tie him up overnight again but I knew he would bolt the second I closed my eyes even if he had been strangely placid this whole time.
“sorry but no i want to be able to sleep without you running away and getting an entire army to murder me”
I told him as I tied him up, once again using the spare shirt to cover his arms.
He was trying to look Grumpy but it just ended with him making a pouting face again.
“I hope this Night is gonna be warmer, the last one made me freeze my ass off and now the Blanket is all bloody”
“Well you can use me as a giant space heater i guess”
Lying down on my back, I simply put him on my chest and laid a hand over him like a tent so he wouldn’t roll off.
“here this should work, also if we find a river i’ll wash the ‘Blanket’”
“Thank you? though i do hope this night is warmer”
He curled up under my Hand and for a second I got the Mental image of a little mouse but shoved it away.
“i can hear your heart from here”
The quiet admission had me perk my pointy ears as I glanced down at him.
“yeah i guess, i have two of them”
“you what? but I only hear one?”
He looked at me incredulously as I told him about it.
“well yeah only one works, some of my organs are doubled i also have four kidneys, well three now since some fucker drugged me to sell it to an Alchemist, I’m glad i managed to break that guys nose before he gutted me completely”
I chuckled grimly at the memory of lying on a cold table and someone cutting into my side before just punching the guy.
“So you just… have more organs than you need???”
He seemed extremely confused over this.
“I suppose that’s one way of putting it but I still would like to keep my insides… well inside”
I did not know why I was telling him this stuff.
After all, when the week was over I’d let him run back to Tunstead and would never see him again.
Though it had been a long time since i could talk to something that was capable of responding so i guess i was just bored with the silence.
I closed my eyes and laid there for a bit knowing that Robin would not be able to get down with me literally as his mattress.
Shortly before i conked out i could feel him lying his head over my heart, glancing down i saw him having that distant stare again, and after about a minute he closed his eyes as his breathing fell into a calmer rhythm indicating that he had fallen asleep.
That was fast, I thought before falling asleep myself.
The next morning I was awoken by sunlight hitting my face and I tried to get up before remembering that Robin was still on my chest.
Looking down i saw that he was still sleeping so i nudged him with finger to get him to wake up
“mmm nrmm ten more minutes”
he just rolled over and gripped my shirt as if trying to use it as a blanket.
“Wake up, sun is out and i want to get going”
I nudged him again and this time he groggily lifted his head blinking owlishly at me
“Wwha? oh… OH! uh good morning?”
He tried to awkwardly Greet me as he tried to get up but fell over as he was still bound with the rope.
I nabbed him off my chest before he could tumble down from it.
“good morning to you as well i thought Guards were supposed to get up at dawn?”
“Uh usually Arthur wakes me up im not a morning person”
He yawned and tried to stretch as much as he could before the rope stopped him.
“Well let’s get going then i want to see if we can find water today, the Waterskin you have is almost empty and i want to wash the Blanket you used”
I really hoped we would find a river or at least a pond today so I could also wash my Handkerchief / Robins Blanket as it had started to just flake off bits of dried blood.
Standing up and making sure Robin didn’t fall off I stretched my muscles and tried to figure out in which direction to go to find some water, in the end I decided to just continue the path I took yesterday.
Picking up everything including the ragged Boarskin as it could be useful later I started to Marching troughs between the trees.
At some point i heard a distant noise like something falling down, At first I thought that it was just a random animal until it happened again and after a few seconds again.
“Do you hear that? any idea what that could be?”
I asked Robin who shook his head and stared into the direction the noise was coming from.
“What if it’s one of the monsters that live here? i don’t wanna go there”
He all but whispered to me.
“I’m going to check it out but you can wait here if you want”
I was Really curious but I also wanted to make sure that IF there was something this close to us we wouldn’t be ambushed out of nowhere by a being we had never seen before and wouldn’t know how to defend against.
“you’re insane! What if you die? what if it nabs ME and runs away to kill me???”
Robin tried to get me to not check out a potentially deadly creature but I really didn’t want to end up surprised in the middle of the night by whatever that was.
“its fine, and i said you could stay here while i look what that is im just gonna put you in a tree again”
I picked a random tree and tied Robin between two branches before stepping back and turning to face the noise.
“I’ll be right back don’t worry it’s probably just another Boar or another big animal”
I tried to reassure him before leaving in the direction the Sound was coming from quietly prowling through the Forest.
Hitting my toe on a protruding boulder I cursed under my breath as I got closer to the source of the Thumping noise only to see something that at first glance looked like a fox with deer antlers on its head.
On a second look it was the size of a horse, had hooves, a cow tail and something that looked to be mushrooms growing out of its back.
I’d never seen something like this before and it was currently headbutting an old tree that was wider than I was tall resulting in the thumping noise I had heard.
As it assaulted the tree branches fell off to the ground, and I could see that they were almost spilling over with maggots.
Eww.
The Maggots didn’t stay there for long as a flock of magpies immediately descended upon it picking it clean in just a minute if not less.
I had no idea what I was watching but decided it best to just leave, backing up I stepped on a branch, the snapping noise alerting the fox/deer creature who whipped its head around in my direction.
I didn’t dare breathe as it looked at me with a head that at first resembled that of a Wolf but with four eyes and a pair of tusks, it blinked and then ran away in the opposite direction, the Magpies following swiftly.
I had no idea what I just witnessed but I did not have time to think about it either as a wordless, blood curdling scream echoed through the woods coming from the place I had left Robin in.
Immediately assuming that there were more monsters that might not be as shy as the one i just saw i sprinted in an adrenaline fueled dash back to where i left him not caring that my face got cut by branches and only shielding my eyes when necessary.
Arriving within seconds where the screaming was coming from, I could at first not make out any sort of danger just Robin still dangling from the tree but screaming like he was murdered.
Coming to a halt next to him and trying to figure out what was happening I saw that a big Spider was climbing down a thread in front of his face and him trying as best as he could to stay as far away as possible.
Not recognizing the species but assuming that it must be extremely venomous for Robin to scream like this, I snatched him away from the spider, not daring to touch the Arachnid in case it had enough venom to kill me.
Stepping a fair distance away and putting him on the ground while trying to see if Robin had been bit by it, but he tried to curl up and had started to hyperventilate
“hey! HEY did it bite you?!”
Nudging him I tried to at least get him to tell me if he was bit but he continued to Hyperventilate with tears in his eyes.
“Okay calm down the thing is gone you can calm down now!”
He didn’t seem to hear me or anything at all really and I worried that he would lose consciousness if he kept breathing like this.
“Okay, try to copy me? it’ll help i promise”
I just hoped it would work as he started to wheeze between his Breaths i tried to show him a breathing pattern that would help calm him down.
Breath in four seconds.
Hold for seven.
Then out for eight.
I repeated this until he started to mimic it and eventually his breathing normalized.
He was still wheezing a bit but he was getting enough air now and slowly going back to normal.

Still Subject to Change Chapter 1 (NEW)
——————————————————————————-
Hello everyone! i decided to repost arc 1 of SSTC
(the chapters were way too long and had a bunch of typos but hopefully this will make reading easier)
this Story contains Vore, Dont like dont read.

——————————————————————————
Tumblr media
Hiding in an alley between two buildings I could look over the Market pretty well, and considering the clear spring weather it was possible to see all the way up to the Castle.
Fuck that place, I hoped it would burn to the ground and take the Racist King down with it!
Ohh how I hated being a hybrid of a human and one of the Fae beings that were definitely NOT human as was clearly seen in my way too blue eyes, very pointy ears, sharper teeth and the fact that some of my organs were doubled even if I didn’t need them.
Like, who even needed four kidneys? or two hearts? The second one wasn’t even beating
At least the second stomach was useful for holding my coins as for whatever reason it did not work like my normal one, probably also the result of my Bastard Status.
Back to the situation at hand, I needed food as I could not find anyone who would take in a bastard like me or even give me a job as per the King’s orders all Fae and even Woodfolk were to be banished.
I didn’t know how to survive in the woods since I was raised as the Human Donovan Verney and not as some wild magic creature like most Fae were so my only option to survive in this place was to steal.
I was not proud of it but I never took more than I needed and if possible left some of the coins that I had painstakingly collected from the ground as people lost them quite frequently.
Looking around I saw that one of the stands selling Pastries was currently not being tended to and decided to try and get some bread to at least last this week.
Dashing out between the buildings I aimed to just run past and grab whatever I could reach first and just book it out of here.
but as I got close enough to grab a still steaming fresh Bun a Lady stood up from under the table the Pastries laid.
well too late to change course now, she’d be able to excuse one bread i was sure, running by i grabbed the Bun and Darted through the crowd just as the lady began screaming.
“THIEF!!! THIEF!!! SOMEONE GET HIM! ARREST HIM! THERE’S A STEALING FAE HERE I SAW HIS EARS!!!! SOMEONE HELP”
Man, this lady could scream loud! She acted like I had stolen her entire heritage instead of one measly bun, and even worse was that she had noticed my bastard status…
So it wouldn’t be long until the guards showed up.
As a matter of fact i could hear the telltale rattling of armor clanking against itself as the owners ran after me seemingly coming out of nowhere, fuck!
They must have been patrolling nearby, today really wasn’t my lucky day.
Hearing them get closer I decided to Run towards the Silvervale forest as nobody in their right mind would go in there of their own free will seeing as it was infested with various Monsters.
Sprinting between some houses I arrived at a small field that led to the woods and decided to just run straight across it, hoping that as soon as I got to the edge of the woods they would stop following me.
Nobody in their right mind would follow me into there as the place was known to be teeming with monsters.
Just last week a man that wandered too close got snatched and mauled by a Manticore and was never seen again.
I knew it was also dangerous for myself because I could very well be killed by one of the forest inhabitants as well.
But so far I’ve gotten lucky as my pursuers usually turned tail as soon as they saw that I went into the woods deeming them too dangerous and everyone that entered it immediately dead.
Reaching the Treeline and starting to run a bit slower i looked back and saw that the Guards that were after me weren’t even full guards, Just some apprentices wearing the standard kingdom issued training armor Consisting of a belly free breastplate and some Chainmail over Leather as well as sturdy boots and a standard shortsword.
That in itself would not have been so bad if it wasn’t for the fact that neither of them slowed down and instead just continued sprinting after me into the woods causing me to bolt away from them even faster to make up for the distance i had already lost while looking back.
I tried to get them off my trail by weaving between trees hoping they would lose sight of me but the Blonde one, who I assumed was the leader of the two as he was sort of dragging the rusthead behind him sometimes, was on my track like a Bloodhound.
I started to wonder if maybe they had a death wish following me in here seeing as I didn’t even know where I was anymore and I doubted they knew either, but this was a race for Survival MY Survival and I was not about to lose it.
I dared to look behind me one more time and saw that I had gained a bit of distance between us and I hoped that would only grow from here on out.
But as it turns out, looking behind yourself while running is not a good idea as I learned the hard way after a misstep led to me falling into a sinkhole that I didn’t see and tumbling down only served to scrape my knees and elbows.
The disorienting slide came to a stop at the bottom of a small cave where I face planted into the ground landing on some branches and dirt.
As I tried to stand up I noticed that my ragged shirt had caught onto something, and looking down I saw a Skeleton!
Biting back a scream at this sudden development I tried to get off of it in a panic only to realize that the skeleton’s arm was sticking to my own as it appeared that a bracelet it had worn slipped over my own wrist as I fell on top of it.
Yanking the bones away and intending to just throw the Trinket next to it as it suddenly shrunk around my arm fitting perfectly like a second skin with inlaid gems I had never seen before, and now impossible to take off.
oh great some magic shit on top of this already bad day i mused in grimm irony as i tried to strip the thing off with no results.
Deciding to deal with this later and focus on escaping my entourage for now i climbed some roots that led me out of the hole i had initially fallen in.
Looking around for a second I saw that the men hunting me like Wildshot were way closer than before, so turning around I just booked it into the opposite direction towards a clearing I could see in the distance.
While stumbling exhaustedly over branches and stones I did not notice that I had started to grow until I stumbled once again and fell down.
getting up and looking back to the two that had followed me suddenly noticed that i was about five times their size now and they both stared at me, the Rusthead in unabashed Horror and the blonde in a sort of grimm shock.
I was stunned by this development.
How did I grow?
Then my mind and eyes snapped back to the Bracelet with the inlaid gems and I figured that the thing had to be actually cursed to do this to me.
Looking at the two guards in training, the blonde one who was ready to just stab me with his shortsword, now a mere toy to me, simply kept staring for a moment frozen in place.
I acted without thinking and grabbed the Rusthead next to him in a fist and plucked his weapon away from him as he squirmed in my grip.
“HEY!! LET HIM GO YOU BEAST!”
commanded the blonde as he yelled at me.
“or what?”
I growled at him in the deepest voice I could muster which, considering my newfound size was a lot deeper than I anticipated and ended up shaking the rusthead in my grip to the core as he tried to wiggle free from my grasp or at least get one of his arms free.
“I- i don’t know but please don’t hurt him! he’s only here because i told him to”
the Blonde seemed a lot more jittery all of a sudden without his sword as he stared at my hand that had trapped his friend? brother?
Whatever the Rusthead might be to him it was apparently rather important for him that he stayed alive and unhurt.
I realized I could use this to my advantage and began thinking up a plan on the spot.
“i’ll make you a deal”
I offered him.
“I know you’ll get as many guards as soon as possible the moment i let the little guy go so i will take him with me”
As he began to protest I cut him off saying.
“not forever of course, just for a week and then i send him on his way to skitter back to you”.
The guy in question apparently didn’t like that as he began shouting at me but I ignored it and instead put one of my fingers over his mouth to silence him.
The Blonde looked distrustingly at me and seemed to consider the pros and cons of this.
He was probably fully aware that at this size I could very easily kill him and the Rusthead.
his eyes kept darting between my face and my hand which still held the other boy in an inescapable grip and finally sighed regretfully.
“if you PROMISE that you wont hurt him then i’ll agree to this just please don’t hurt him it’s my fault that he’s here”
He pleaded and started to take of his bag that he previously carried on his back
“I know that you’ll be far away by the time you’ll let him go.
Can you take this with you?
it contains some supplies so he can find his way back home”
I used my unoccupied hand to inspect the bag and saw that it contained a rope, a waterskin, a knife and some other useful tools.
While I inspected the bag the Blonde and the rusthead kept looking at each other desperately trying to figure a way out of this.
Stashing the bag in the front pocket of my pants I took my finger off of the Rustheads mouth so he could talk again which he immediately did.
“ARTHUR!” He wailed and tried once again to fruitlessly squirm free.
oh so the Blonde guy was named Arthur?
“well say bye, you’ll see each other again in about a week”
I held the wiggling Rusthead closer to the guy that apparently was named Arthur and let them say a few words to each other before standing up for the first time since I’ve grown into a giant and immediately getting a bit dizzy from the height I was looking down at Arthur.
Calculating a bit and using the Rusthead in my fist as a reference point I concluded that I was at least thirty feet tall now, if not bigger.
That was a lot larger than anything else I’ve ever seen and I was surprised that I didn’t just straight up put dents in the ground where I was standing.
Collecting myself and Holding the Rusthead, who at this point had given up trying to get free, closer to my chest i began walking in a random direction, now that i was a giant i could absolutely not go back to a city ever again i realized dejectedly, as i would immediately be killed on sight.
Fuck the King and his stupid policies that no Nonhuman is allowed within the Kingdom walls.
Deciding to shove my bitterness towards a man who I had never met away from me for some other time and trying to be at least a little friendly, I decided to try and reassure the little guy in my hand…
Oh Fuck i was holding an entire Person in my hand, that was insane!
Why did my brain only catch up with the fact that I was a giant now?
Making decisions on a whim when your life is in danger was apparently not my strong suit as I was now stuck with a person barely a fifth of my size for a week.
Shifting my grip on the guard in my hand I ripped his armor plate off and put it in my pocket to the rest of the stuff so I could hold him better.
He still had the chainmail and leather on him, And I had currently no Intention in taking that from him, as I promised that he wouldn’t be hurt, I deemed it best to leave him a majority of his armor.
Besides without a weapon there was no feasible way that he could hurt me.
But it still was extremely weird that I could fit an entire Person in my hand.
The guard in my Hands was still visibly shaken from the whole ordeal and fidgeting nervously with his Arms.
“Calm down Rusthead you’re fine i’m not going to hurt you"
I tried to reassure him.
He however just mumbled
"don’t call me Rusthead”
and was honestly pouting about it.
“What do you want me to call you then?”
I asked him which seemed to catch him off guard a little as he looked at me surprised.
“ Oh uh…i… well my Name is Robin so call me that?"
He jumbled out awkwardly.
"Alright I’ll do that, just cause we’re Stuck together for a week doesn’t mean we have to be mean to each other”
I replied while ducking under some branches making him flinch from the sudden shift in gravity and cling to my Fingers.
"So uh what’s your Name?”
Robin tried awkwardly to make smalltalk.
“Im Donovan and, well i’m not usually this tall”
I told him while trying to find another clearing.
“Yeah i can believe that you seemed just as surprised and confused as we did”
he confessed.
“Also, can I ask where we are going?”
he added meekly.
“Well frankly i have no idea so i think i’m going to go towards the Wyrmhurst Mountain and See if i can climb it"
A Look of Horror crossed Robin’s Face at the mention of the highest peak in the direct vicinity of Kamerasca.
“Are you insane??? That’s like the most dangerous place here!! why would you even WANT to go there?!?”
“well im Giant now so i don’t know what would want to mess with me, besides i only want to go up there because i think i could see really far away”
Looking around I saw that the sun stood way lower than before and decided to start seeking for a shelter before the night fell.
“Besides i can just let you run back to Tunstead when i’m at the base of the mountain i’m not going to Climb that thing with you in my hands”
“So I don’t have to go up there? at least that’s a positive for now”
I nodded at him and continued striding through the forest even if my legs needed a rest soon.
I had been up and about since yesterday morning after all.
Coming into a small clearing and deciding to just use the spot as a temporary camp for tonight, I asked the guy that currently just hung limply in my hand.
“Hey, are you tired? i think this place will do okay as a campsite for tonight”
“im fine with anything really”
he conceded.
“as long as you don’t snore i guess”
he added a lot more quiet.
“i’m pretty sure i don’t snore otherwise the actual guards in Tunstead would have found me sleeping in the alleys”
I reached my hand out and grabbed at the leaves of a nearby tree to try and to make it into a nest for Robin to sleep in.
the leaves felt flakey and almost fake in my now giant hands.
I realized halfway through my foraging that if I left Robin to sleep by himself without something to keep him from running away he would do exactly that.
Remembering the bag the other one gave me, I fished it out of my pocket and took the rope out that it contained.
“What are you…? uh what are you gonna do with that?”
the smaller asked nervously, staring at the rope in my hand.
“Well I know if i go to sleep you will just run away so i have to tie you up so you don’t escape”
I explained to him trying to figure out the best way to do this.
“WAIT wait can we talk about this? I’m not keen on sleeping on the ground while tied up like a wild horse!”
He had started squirming again to get free, but like the last time it did not do anything other than tire himself out even more.
“You’ll be fine, it’s just rope not the end of the world”
I rolled my eyes at him and started binding his legs together.
“ah what about ummm rope burn?! I don’t want rope burns that’s nasty and could get infected?”
He had started rambling at me to get me to reconsider tying him up, but he did have a point with the rope burns so, reaching into the bag once again, I took out what appeared to be a spare undershirt and started wrapping it around his bare arms.
“There, that should solve the rope burn problem”
I told him as I tied his arms to his front.
“But what if one of the monsters of this forest shows up? or worse!”
He tried once more to get out of this by talking.
“if something does show up just scream and i’ll kick it as far as i can”
I told him while setting him onto the leaves I had prepared earlier and lying down next to it myself, sticking close in case he decided to somehow rob away while bound.
“At least i get a bed”
he grumbled and fell over onto his side facing away from me.
“Whatever Goodnight, And if somethings wrong just yell for me”
I said in his general direction, the entire day of walking had made me tired and now that the sun was gone I could barely keep my eyes open.
shuffling around a bit to get comfortable I closed my eyes and drifted into a dreamless sleep.
I was awoken later by someone saying my name, which in itself was unusual, as I rarely had any reason to tell it to anyone.
It took me a few seconds to recognize who was talking to me and at first I tried just going back to sleep before my name was said again.
Opening my eyes to look at Robin I saw that it was still night judging by the darkness around us.
“What’s the Problem?” I asked him sleepily and wished that it was nothing so I could go back to bed.
I felt heavier than ever before and really just wanted to keep sleeping.
“It’s very cold. Can you make a fire?” he asked with chattering teeth.
Opening my eyes completely I saw my breath come out in little clouds and looking over to Robin I could just about make out frost on the leaf bed I had made and him lying pitifully shaking inside of it.
It was weird that the cold did not seem to bother me at all but i shoved that away for the next morning
“It’s too dark to make a fire and I don’t have firewood”
I Informed him.
“Do you have any other ideas to warm me up?”
His teeth chattering worse with each word he said.
Not knowing what else to do I rolled completely on my side, facing him and taking him into my hands once again, while also fishing out a handkerchief that I had in my other pocket intending to let the tiny Guard use it as a Blanket.
I was glad that I had washed it before this madness happened.
Curling around Robin and laying the cloth over him like a blanket.
I hoped that this was enough so I could go back to sleep already.
“thank you”
I heard the softly spoken words that just barely reached my ears shortly before I fell back asleep.
The next time I awoke it was thankfully morning and i was not tired anymore, opening my eyes and looking around without moving beyond that as i remembered what had transpired last night and not wanting to roll over the small Guard i simply continued lying there.
glancing down to see if he was also awake I found him staring intently at a dandelion where a Bee currently tried to get nectar, not caring at all that it was stared at.
Shifting around a bit, I decided to at least wish him a good morning after he had to sleep in the cold for a few hours.
“Good morning”
I politely greeted him.
He however, Flinched like a Wyvern had snuck up on him and whipped his head around to stare at me with wide pupils, Brown eyes wide before blinking and going back to normal.
“Hey you good?”
I inquired about his weird reaction.
“ah i’m sorry i just had my mind somewhere else”
He explained and then added sheepishly.
“i’m afraid it happens a lot that i just zone out”
“So I noticed”
I replied dryly and started to get intending to stretch my muscles.
“So uh Donovan right?”
I heard him ask from the Ground where he looked up at me.
“Yeah what is it?”
I responded and bent down again to scoop his still rope bound form up from the ground while also pocketing my Handkerchief again.
“Can you unbind me now? Night is over and i want to be able to move again”
He seemed nervous asking me for anything at all which, considering the happenings of the past twenty four hours, I could not blame him.
Still I had not eaten since yesterday Morning as I was rudely interrupted by the entire madness that led to my current Situation and would have to get something today.
And having a small Person in my Hands while trying to find something would not be helpful.
“Not yet, i need to find something to eat first and dragging you around with me is not gonna do me any favors in that regard”
“Wait, you’re not gonna leave me tied up on the ground are you???”
He blurted out worriedly.
He HAD a fair point in that actually, i could not leave him in case one of the less friendly residents of this Forest showed up.
Having him sit on the floor would only be dangerous so thinking about it for a second I got another idea.
“I’m not gonna leave you on the floor don’t worry i’ll just put you in a tree most things can’t climb anyways so you should be safe”
I explained to him and started looking for some suitable Greenery.
“That’s not any better?!?”
He exclaimed bewildered and tried to chew on the part of the rope that went over his shoulder but couldn’t quite reach it.
“it’ll be fine i’ll just hunt some wildgame or something and i’ll share so you get something too”
I tried to placate him but he still looked grumpy about it as I put him in a tree somewhere above my head and left him dangling from a piece of rope.
“I’ll be right back with something to eat, okay? you’ll be fine in the meantime”
he did not respond and instead just pouted at me as I slowly went to look for anything edible.
Trying to navigate through the underbrush quietly proved to be difficult with my new size, as I kept stepping on branches and twigs and even entire logs as well as hitting my head on the overgrowth, sometimes alerting a few Birds.
After a few minutes however I got the hang of it and started to silently creep along between the trees until I spotted a Deer that was eating some lichen off a tree.

After the Victory Rose had anchored,  with the smaller Halcyon close behind we were finally home.
Not wanting to spend too much time in Tunstead lest there was a repeat of Naroa Island and someone didn't like that there were Nonhumans visiting.
Not like Rikaad would allow that but there were always assholes.
So instead we went straight for the castle, none of the crew of the Halcyon having seen a building this big before, or confusingly built.
Which was very evident as half of them got lost in less than half an hour.
At least Imugi had fun doing figures around the spikes at the bottom of the cliff.
We found them about two hours later, Jamie having been chased out of the kitchen like some raccoon and Ronan got brought outside by Norrin, who had scruffed him like a disobedient dog.
For some reason the Grumpy young man Leon came with us to the castle and refused to say much or leave.
We left him for now,  with Nea and Norrin around there wasn't much he could do.
I shooed the Crew to Okaleys tower,  he would have more information about the blue bracelet anyway.
Yamet had opted to tour the kitchen, stating the others could tell him later and that he'd rather see if he could trade recipes.
The tower itself was as askew and unorderly as always,  and we hadn't even knocked.
The door was missing completely anyway for some reason so we simply walked in.
I did come as a surprise though that Nea was in here,  holding a brown creature with white spots on its back.
At first I thought she was holding a fawn, but then I noticed the longer neck and nubby horns as well as the claws and long tail.
“Nea? Where the FUCK did you get a baby Drake?”
The thing in question made horrifyingly pitiful bleaking noises,  pawing uselessly at the air as Nea held it like a particularly squirmy cat.
Though it was more the size of a young goat.
“I found it! So I get to keep it!”
I was not about to Argue with her, she'd kick my ass,  Instead I stared confusedly at Oakley, who was painting the cat blue.
Oh so one of those days where nothing made sense involving him.
“Oakley, why are you painting the cat blue?, and why does Nea have a baby Drake?”
He turned to face us and shrugged.
“No idea what the insane lady here is doing but i'm trying to figure out what magic affinity our dear kitty here has!
The paint is made of lapis lazuli by the way!
Now say who are those people behind you and why is the Zoa trying to pocket some of my Gems?”
I looked over at Jamie who hastily put some sort of clear crystal back onto a shelf.
“Uh, those are friends i made while on the ocean, long story i'll tell you later, but uhh we found another Bracelet, its blue this time”
I pointed at Ronan who in turn pointed at the Bracelet on his arm.
In less than a Second Oakley had gripped his arm with one foot and was hanging onto the wall with the other, inspecting the new Bracelet up close and with no regard for personal space.
Ronan just stared confused at Oakley, though to be fair he was already used to having to be a Perch for jamie.
“Did the creature look anything like the Ardua?”
No that it did not.
“Uh, no, it was more like a seal with big and flat hands and a long tail with a fin, does it have its own name?”
Oakley Jumped of off Ronan and walked back to where he was, rummaging through his coat a bit before pulling out a Book.
While he flipped pages, and apparently had trouble reading it? The Cat, Gloxinia trailed blue paint everywhere, jumping up the windowsill and bapping at the very confused baby Drake Nea was still holding.
The poor thing probably had a very weird day,  getting manhandled by a quite frankly rather crazy woman and then getting disrespected like that by a cat.
The thing bleaked again, trying to wind itself out of Nea’s Grip,  yeah that would be futile.
“AHA! Found it! I think translating is gonna take a while seeing as the author changes the stupid coded letters every five pages!
And language as well!, tell ya what, imma deal with Nea now and then go back to translating, you can come back after Dinner or so”
That was reasonable, and Jamie and Akeem had left already anyway, leaving only Ronan and Imik here.
No doubt Akeem went after Jamie to prevent chaos,  and they took the clear crystal from the shelf again.
Nea set the confused Drake on Oakley table where it did a wide stance as if it couldn't decide between fight or flight,  not that either would be a good idea with Nea here.
“So! Arthur got all pissy when I brought ta lil guy with me! Said just cuz i got rid of tha big one din’ mean i could keep tha smaller one!
I say tha only one that can tell me what ta do is Rikaad!
And i want you ta tell me what exactly this is so i can ask to keep it,  or him or her or whatever!”
The thing in question made another bleaking Noise, sniffing at the table and looking over the edge of it.
Ronan put his face close to it and the thing screeched horribly, scrambling and slipping on the old wood and nearly falling off.
In response to that Nea tossed Ronan out, literally, she tossed him out the window and Imik walked out after him to make sure he was okay.
Since Ronan had landed in a bush he only had some dirt on him, and after that they both wanted to look around the castle more instead of being near Nea.
Yeah, fair, I did however want to see how the entire Drake thing would play out so we parted ways and I went back inside where Oakley was just telling Nea that the little guy was a male.
“I'd say it's a young male,  the spots have the same reason as fawn spots, they fade with time and he should get some more tan and brown colors.
I can't say what species exactly yet but it's possible he'll get stripes,  or colored horns.
If you're sure you wanna try taming him go ahead, i can't guarantee anything but i sure am gonna watch you try, you'd probably be the first to do that, well to be fair you gotta be a bit insane to try”
A bit was good, but I also wasn't exactly fond of anyone trying to kill something so young, and thus far the little guy hadn't done anything.
As it was he was even afraid of the cat, who was still covered in blue paint and attempting to groom him.
All that did was cover him in blue paint too and he looked rather miserable at that.
While Nea argued with Oakley about what size he could reach, apparently Nea had expected something big like a dragon but Oakley estimated something slightly larger than a horse,  so I held out my hand to the strangely fluffy creature.
All in all it looked scraggly and scruffy,  the only scaled parts being the legs and sand colored underside as well as the rather beak-like snout that seemed to be made of cartilage.
It tentatively sniffed at my hand, bonking its head against it.
Then Gloxinia wanted all the attention and I had to pet her with the other hand while the goat sized creature was inspecting my hand with its amber colored eyes.
Maybe Ronan would have some tips for Nea since he’d sorta raised Imugi already.
I was handed a blue stained cat by Oakley who told me to go wash the color off before she decided to lick it off.
“You want me to wash a cat?
A cat of all things who are not known for liking water?”
“Yeah! Good luck!”
And with that he shoved me out, not even saying if he'd figured out if Gloxinia had any magic or magic type.
Well, better get this over with,  I wasn't even sure if the paint was edible so she probably shouldn't lick it even if that was how cats normally cleaned themselves.
Ignoring that my own shirt had gotten blue in places,  I went to the next best water source and tried my best to keep a hold of Gloxinia who definitely did not like water.
“What the fuck are you doing?”
I looked up to see that Leon guy.
“Oakley put paint on the cat, i'm trying to get it off before she licks it,  but i don't think she likes water”
Leon stuck his hand into the water bucket,  taking it back out and flicking water at me.
“Yeah no shit, thats cold water, why the fuck would wold a cat like that, try warm water next time dipshit”
Rude, at least I was trying, and not letting her eat paint.
“You do it then! If you're so much better at that!”
At the moment neither the cat nor me were happy about it.
“Aight, bet”
With that he grabbed both Gloxinia and the bucket, slinging the cat half over his shoulder and dragging the bucket to who knew where.
Well, at least I didn't have to do it now.
And judging by the fact that Gloxinia tried rubbing her head against his ear she was also rather happy about that.
Whatever, if that guy thought warm water would make her hate it less he was free to try.
Now where did everyone else go?
Hopefully none of them got into trouble.
As it turned out they just had gotten lost in the castle again,  which we only found out because Jamie walked along the outside of it to try and get someone that knew where the fuck everything was.
Yamet however was found in the kitchen,
talking and working with Myril so we left them to it, whatever they were doing smelled really good so we were not going to interrupt.
As expected when two very good cooks were put in the same kitchen, Dinner tasted amazing, some sort of Goulash that heavily utilized spices.
Yamet was probably the one that had brought the spices.
After that I brought Ronan back to Oakleys tower,  also rather curious about whatever he found out.
We did do a little detour though as apparently Nea had decided to train her new Pet like a Dog, including the command to fetch things.
Well, things, she let it chase a rat carcass she had tied to some other poor Guard that had to run laps to avoid the little beast.
Not something anyone wanted to be involved in.
“Is she trying to train the Drake?”
“I think so, but i don't think she knows how to,  how did you know how to take care of Imugi?”
He shrugged.
“Fuck around find out really, Imugi was easy cuz she loved doing what i was doing, also i was the first thing Imugi saw when she hatched so i guess she imprinted on me? I'm not entirely sure she knew she was a sea creature for the first few months.
Also I gave her treats when she did good things.
Maybe I can talk to the lady there later and see if I can help!
I've never really seen a Drake this close! Or young!”
“You do that,
i'm not entirely sure she won't tell the little guy to bite you though”
I Wouldn't put it past her to do that, Besides we had other stuff to do first.
So, Ignoring whatever torment Nea brought upon everyone else,  I knocked on the doorframe to Oakley tower, the Door itself still missing.
“Ah there you are! Come in! I accidentally melted the door anyway!”
I kept quiet about wondering how the fuck someone could melt a Door on accident.
“Did you find out more about the Blue bracelet?
Does the water creature also have a name?”
Oakley wordlessly pointed at two chairs and told us to sit down,
heaving the book he rummaged for earlier onto the table.
Flipping pages around he stopped on a depiction of the creature Ronan turned into, though the drawing on the old paper depicted spots Ronan did not have as well as a different tailfin and a more brownish coloration.
Tumblr media
But it was still the same creature, the depiction surrounded by runes and letters that were absolute gibberish to me.
Oakley pointed at it.
“So from what I found out this is a Faraselgi,  and it's basically the same principle as for the Ardua just with a water element instead of an earth one, the rest is pretty much the same.
Well that far we got ourselves already.
“Anything else about it? Or is that all?”
I would have expected it to have at least a few more differences.
“Nope! Aside from the different creatures, which are really just based on environmental factors, it's pretty much the same!
What? Did you think the blue one got superpowers or something?”
Of course not, but after being able to turn into an Ardua I couldn't exactly know what to expect regarding those Bracelets.
“How much is the same? I mean I know about the two hearts thing,
Is the rest also the same?”
Ronan asked, brow creasing as he tried to read the absolute mishmash of letters and runes, clearly not getting anything from that.
Oakley just nodded.
“Well yes, if you take aside the tailfin shorter hind legs and stupidly big paddle shaped grabbers it is very similar!
Oh also your thoracic vertebrates are longer,  so you sort of got a mock fin on your back, but it's technically bone”
There was the weird thing,  of course there had to have been at least one weird thing about it.
Well, weirder than it already was at least.
“So I got more bones? Awesome! Do they have a function too?”
Leave it to the biologist to find that exciting.
“I don't think so, maybe helps with balance,  don't go around trying to remove them”
A fair warning considering this was Ronan.
“Don't worry! I'm not gonna vivisect myself!
Jamie and Imik would beat the shit out of me!”
That really shouldn't be his only concern here.
“Well then that's really all since you seem already familiar with it somehow! Just don't go around scaring people or you will find your head mounted to a wall someday!”
With that he picked up the book and shoved it back into his coat,  which shouldn't feasibly hold something that big.
“Hell yeah! Now I know what it's called! I'm gonna go tell the others!
And Imugi! Imugi first! Before it gets dark! Byee!”
He rushed out the doorway,  well at least there would be a bit of daylight still.
“Does he know where he is going?”
“No i don't think so,  when i go back i'll inform someone to keep an eye out”
Eh, he'd be fine, he had a stupid amount of luck.
Besides, I did want to talk to Oakley a bit more.
My turn to say something that would throw him for a loop.
“I met your ex”
He spit out the tea he'd been sipping.
“What? Wait which one?
Ah no considering where you were it can only be one”
Which one??? Dumbass, then again he was like what? Sixhundred?
It was likely he had more than one ex, or more than ten even.
“So, how is Grella doing?
It's nice to hear she's still alive after all this time”
“She's kinda dying, just like magic,  but you knew that already didn't you?”
He stared into his mug.
“Kamerasca doesn't have any Ley lines, the closest one is where my old hut is, which is why I built it there, but yes, magic is dying.
I've noticed a long time ago,  but nobody I know could do anything about it.
I can't do anything about it, and telling people brought nothing,  either rejoicing at the ‘evil’ becoming less or simply not caring considering it wasn't their problem.
The only ones that did care were the mages and wizards and the like,  I know a few Elemancers tried to figure out WHY it happened but when I got there they were dead already, stabbed in the back by someone that saw his magic as a curse rather than what it really was.
I debated telling you after I moved here,  but I didn't want to take your joy away so soon,  Besides, there is nothing you can do, and I didn't want to see anyone else get hurt trying to figure out what was going on with magic.
At first I even expected you guys to either not care or to actually care, and go off on some stupid mission to fix something that a mere human could never fix and die.
All the powerful and old magic users are either dead or somewhere in Valyria, which is very dangerous as is already, i bet even more died in the last two hundred years as most used magic to prolong their life.
But with magic dying all the old magic users will too, and Grella as well.
She's really the only one I feel sorry for.
How much time did she estimate?”
I stared at him, so he hadn't told me to not worry me,  but from what I gathered he would have told me eventually,  when it became relevant for me.
“She said about thirty years at most, she will die in less than twenty”
Oakley looked at his three fingered wing hand,  sadder than I had ever seen him.
“If i wasn't a coward i’d visit her, but alas i am just that”
“Why? She sounded like she still likes you, i don't think she’d hurt you”
He shook his head.
“No, i know she won't hurt me, we split because i could never really go dive into the depths with her, and the school i wanted to go to was a good bit inland, where she couldn't go, in the end our interests just didn't match anymore and we agreed both to call it off.
But there are things out there, that I made very angry,  people I made angry by obtaining what was considered forbidden knowledge.
If i were to go too far from Barmea and too close to Valyria again they would kill me, and they could make it permanent”
There was a lot I did not know about Oakley, but I knew he was not a bad person, why ever he had done it he would have had a reason to.
“So you're stuck on this continent?
Wait, did you just live as a hermit for a few hundred years?
No wonder you were so weird when we met you, you still are”
He puffed up indignantly.
“Well, social norms have changed a lot since I went into the forest!
It's not my fault you humans can't stick with one thing!”
Well that was true.
“Fair, but I'm sure you could just have read up on it!”
He grinned, though it didn't quite reach his eyes.
“Well i find the fuck around find out approach a lot more amusing!
But if you insist I will head to the castle Library to get catched up now!
Also i need to get a new door, maybe i should do that first”
I looked at the doorway that let a cool breeze in.
“Yeah that has probably priority right now, well have fun repairing your door, i still need to say hi to Arthur, if i find him”
“Oh i think he fell asleep sorting paperwork!”
I nodded at Oakley and went back to the castle,  stopping briefly to grab the red blue and purple shell I had picked out for him, I did say I'd get him one.
Now I just had to find him.
Since every other hallway ended up in the throne room at one point or another that's where I went, and Rikaad and Robin were already there.
Rikaad stared with disdain at the needlessly pompous throne,  to be fair it did not look comfy at all.
“Hey! Have any of you seen Arthur? I did promise to bring him a shell"
I waved said shell in the air.
“I have not seen him, but he has to be around,  perhaps Norrin will know where-” Rikaad got interrupted by Arthur emerging from one of the side hallways.
“I hate the layout of this place! Oh you're all back!”
There was a Squeal and Robin rushed to hug the blonde, who had to hold a bunch of paper over his head to not get them scrunched up.
For some reason they had reddish brown stains in one corner.
Arthur nearly fell over if not for Rikaad grabbing his arm to keep steady.
Arthur awkwardly patted at Robin's messy head and I noticed that two of his fingers were in a splint.
“What happened to your fingers? Did Nea break them?”
Robin let go after that, inspecting said finger gently.
He did say before we left that he wouldn't doubt that Nea would do just that.
“Huh? Oh no i tried to grab at something that fell behind that longass drawer, kinda broke my finger when i slipped on paper”
Well, that still sounded painful.
But at least the next bit would probably cheer him up a little!
I handed Arthur the shell I had picked out for him,
the blue, red and purple shimmering in the light.
“Here! I did say I'd get you a big one!”
He turned said shell over in his hand,  the thing being almost bigger as said hands.
“I didn't know seashells could have those colors!
Thank you! OH! Also I have something as well!”
He held out the slightly stained paper, which I was now pretty sure was blood, and carefully took it, looking it over.
My face split in a grin as I read the title,
It seemed like Rikaad had to rewrite a law pretty soon.
Man, I couldn't wait to write to Fable!

Having gotten Robin, who had taken a hairbrush to his messy locks, we went outside to see Rikaad standing on a Podium in front of the manor.
Considering the podium was stone it had to have been there for quite some time, probably built with the house itself.
There was already a crowd,  a bit more sparse the closer to the front it got, apparently not many people wanted to be near the more nonhuman visitors.
We took one of the more free spots which put me near that Leon guy.
He looked over and bared his teeth, making me take a step back at the snarling grimace.
I probably would take it more personally if he didn't do the same to a human on his other side right now.
Not a fan of people huh?
Then again if people got too close they might notice the slightly too pointy ears and teeth as well as the unusual eye color.
That was something I could understand, not wanting people to get close and figure out you weren't really human.
So, keeping my distance from the rather hostile young man,  I turned to face Rikaad who had already been talking a bit.
Apparently it was about the future of the island and how if they wanted to live peacefully they couldn't keep shutting out and downright hunting other sentient people just because they weren't human.
That most of the nonhuman people weren't even out for a fight and just wanted to live their lives and do their job, same as everyone else.
And if they had wanted to fight they would already have done so, outnumbering humans on this island by far anyway.
He spoke more words of peace and the like as well as hoping to work together in the future instead of against each other and then finally went to appoint the new Mayor.
It was Marianna, Shalimars mother and Cassidy's Ex wife.
Now I wondered even more what I missed, because apparently Rikaad and Marianna had to have been in contact a few times before already.
And she did spy work on the old mayor to find all those documents and other things to get him to jail.
Rikaad had not looked the least bit surprised as she appeared and handed over the papers.
All of that had to have been carefully planned.
I looked confusedly at Robin who looked just as confused back.
Ah, so neither of us knew then.
Rikaad spoke some more about a few changes,  not all of which were met with applause before finishing the speech and bowing politely in front of all those watching.
I just stared, being King must be exhausting as hell,  and Rikaad wasn't the type to take breaks.
Well, at least he had the nerves to stand in front of a thousand or more people and talk without stuttering once or messing up.
I for sure would rather faint than do that.
But it also reminded me it had been forever since I had actually talked to him, either time or other things getting in the way.
As soon as we got back to Kamerasca and things had calmed down a little i'd go and drag him outside for a bit, fuck knew he needed a break.
Arthur and Robin as well, then maybe we could just hang out for a bit.
Maybe Oakley would come with, and speak about things that made my brain struggle to understand.
I should also probably tell the guy using magic about magic dying, maybe he could keep a better eye on it and tell me when to stop shifting.
“Hey fucker! You were late!”
I jumped as someone tapped at my back, turning around to see Jamie perching on Akeem again.
For something made of heavy stone he was surprisingly quiet.
Jamie wasn't though.
“Well next time inform me sooner, why did they even send you?”
Jamie just shrugged, pointing at Cassidy.
“Was his job but Marianna, uhh, 'Distracted him' ”
I was not gonna ask what that entailed.
“Nevermind then, what now? Do we go back to Kariba island?”
“Ask the bossman, i'm just here to see what stupid stuff Ronan will do”
Ah yeah, of course.
Where was he anyway?
Eh, not my problem.
I gave Jamie a thumbs up and collected Robin to go ask Rikaad what we were doing next.
Rikaad himself was back in the manor, talking to Marianna about easier means of communication than sending letters per ship.
Apparently Marianna wanted to build a post office where flying creatures such as Harpies could work, which however required to make resting stations on the smaller island between here and Kamerasca.
The idea itself wasn't so bad,  though it would probably take some time to do that.
RIkaad still gave the okay if they managed to do it but wasn't expecting it to be ready anytime soon.
After that Marianna left and Rikaad turned to us.
“There you two are, how are you doing?”
Robin whipped up and down where he stood, cheerfully answering.
“I'm good! I still wanna go do a beach day with all of you!  Do you think we can do that before we go home?”
That would be fun, if we could get him to come with us.
“We could ask any of the sailors if they know a good spot! Come on you deserve a break once in a while too”
Rikaad did look thoughtful for a moment.
“Well, since there don't seem to be any problems I don't see why we couldn't do that, how about you two ask someone for a nice place while i wrap things up here?”
YES! Success! A fun day for us and Rikaad finally would take a break!
“Yes! I'm gonna ask Ronan,  he's been around so I'm sure he knows more than one place”
Though for that we had to find him first,  wherever the hell that scatterbrained idiot had gone.
“Oh i saw him with a medic, i think someone punched him”
Why was that not surprising? Probably Shalimars fault.
“Alright thank you Rikaad, well go and look for the medic station”
He nodded and pointed us down the hallway behind him.
Down the rather short hall was indeed a very small medic symbol painted on the door, a staff with two snakes.
I ought to find out what those snakes stood for at some point.
Robin politely knocked on the door and a very old looking man opened it.
“Oh hi doc! Is Ronan here?”
Robin knew the guy? How much did I miss?
“Ahh Robin, welcome! Yes there is a young man by that name here I assume you want to talk to him?”
We both nodded and the old man let us in,  pointing at a window bed where Ronan was staring out of.
I doubted he was supposed to be half kneeling on the bed and sticking his head out like that,  but not like he normally followed any other instructions either.
“Ronan! Hey!”
He startled and hit his head on the top of the window,  cursing something only Jamie could have teached him.
“Ow! Oh hey! Did that weird guy punch you too?”
Weird guy? So not Shalimar?
As he turned around i could see he sported a blue eye.
“Uh what? No? Wait, who punched you?”
He shrugged, hopping off the bed.
“Uhh i think its the guy your friends picked up at some point?
Something with L”
“You mean Leon? Yeah he didn't exactly make a friendly first impression, or second, or third”
Or any impression really.
“Yeah that guy, I just asked if he had any Elven ancestry and WHAM!  I got a blue eye and no answers! Fucking rude”
Maybe he shouldn't go around asking people such things.
“I guess, though a stranger asking that probably isn't something he likes”
“Oh, yeah, I guess, hey what did you want me for?”
Oh right, the reason we came here for.
“We wanted to ask if you knew a nice spot for a beach day?
Preferably one with no danger”
“Oh sure! I know plenty! There are a few nice ones around Kariba I could show you! there's this one pretty small island that's half sand and half dirt with a few trees and boulders! You could span a hammock!
And it's got lots of shells, though there are some hermit crabs but they won't bother you, just check the shells you pick up for any inhabitants!”
That did sound nice, and if it really wasn't far from Kariba island then we'd probably go there.
“Sounds good! I'll tell Rikaad about it when I can! Oh also i don't think we are staying here for much longer so maybe get your stuff ready” “Will do! This place is kinda boring anyway, the houses all look so similar to each other and the people here aren't exactly friendly”
That they weren't, and at this point I was not expecting them to be.
“Yeah, sometimes people suck, but were leaving anyway”
Ronan nodded and then was called over by the old man again, The medic wanted to check his eye again to make sure the punch hadn't damaged it.
I grabbed Robin and left the man to his job,  still questioning how Robin knew him.
“Hey where did that medic know you from? He knew your name before any of us said anything”
“Oh he's the doc of the Victory Rose!
Though I have no idea what he's doing here,  Maybe he came with us on the Call Of The Damned? I mean the Victory Rose is currently being repaired, also he gave a first aid course”
He did? Well if he managed to explain things to the scatterbrained Ginger that was great.
“Really? What did you learn?
And what poor soul had to be a test subject?”
He laughed, telling over the next hour what he had learned, which apparently was mainly how to get a fish hook out of a finger or leg and some other basic stuff as well as how to reset a dislocated arm.
Huh, he learned quite a bit, and of his own volition no less! Impressive!
“That Impressive!
Next time I faceplant to the ground I can just ask you to help!”
He laughed at that.
“Ha! I'm still not as good as an actual medic! But I know how to clean scrapes at least!
But, uhm, i only really did that so i wouldn't have to sit around alone with my own brain, i mean, you fell overboard and i just wanted to do something that took more of my attention than that”
He had started fiddling with his nails.
“Don't worry, at least you did something useful! All I was good for was serving as entertainment for Imugi! And I guess Jamie too.
One time I got stuck on the mast because they don't have a ladder there and Jamie told me if I managed to get up I'd get a prize,  they had to help me get back down, the NEXT day!”
That had been chaotic, not that I remembered most of it.
“No way! Wait what Prize? What did you get?”
Ohh right! The prize was in the little bag Jamie had given me, which was still on the Halcyon!
“Oh I forgot it on the ship! Good thing we are going back to Kariba later! I'll show you then yeah? It's a little fossil of a sea star”
“A fossil? Cool! At least you can't lose it while it's there!”
“Yeah and it can't break either, but remind me to grab it, i don't think anyone would go back to an entire island just because i forgot something”
Though I could probably send a letter and ask them to send it to Kamerasca.
The rest of the day went pretty boring, people put more Crates on the Call Of The Damned and a few were taken off and sometime late afternoon a headcount was done and everyone shooed onto the ship.
Looking around I saw that Ronan, Akeem and Jamie were all accounted for, Robin was already back in the cabin somewhere to set up his stuff, not that either of us had much.
I decided to walk over the deck once more before we left,  looking at the island from the ship.
It really did look as Ronan had said,  The houses were pretty similar and everything looked way too neat, every detail of this place clearly planned out.
No wonder considering it had all been built around the same time.
Even Kamerasca itself had more charm than this artificially looking place.
I silently wished Marianna the best of luck with that.
Speaking of, she was down at the pier and talking to Shalimar,  giving her something that looked like a whip.
That would not go well,  either she'd manage to tie it into a horrible knot or end up taking someone's eye out if her acrobatic skills were any indication.
Well, better keep away for a bit till she was okay at using that weapon.
The ride back on the Call Of The Damned was uneventful,  aside from Imugi showing up and whistling at Ronan for attention.
Jamie tossed him overboard, stating that since he had that bracelet now he could swim the rest of the way back with Imugi.
I wasn't about to argue with that, besides they were right about the swimming part, and if anything happened Imugi was there at least.
And he actually did swim all the way back,  shifting to human size overnight and letting Imugi carry him before shifting to the water creature the next day again.
He probably did that out of spite now.
Though as soon as we got back to Kariba he crashed onto shore and fell asleep as he was.
No wonder there really, the beach day seemed to have to wait a bit.
In the meantime I decided to try and help out rebuilding the Halcyon to the best of my ability, which mainly involved carrying heavy stuff with Akeem and holding things steady while they fixed it in place.
At some point the resident medic, Grace,  came over to see if anyone had hit their finger with a hammer yet.
Pretty sure that was mainly meant for Ronan,  who had dropped one a few times already.
Grace also did comment on my muscle density, stating that for the size they were they were nearly double as strong as average.
Well, that was something?
Did it have anything to do with the Bracelet? maybe?
Though i was able to lift up an entire person without much difficulty,  as well as other heavy stuff like while repairing the ship.
Of course the rest of the crew immediately wanted to test that,  by telling me to hold my arms out and have them cling to them while dangling over the ground.
Surprisingly enough I managed to hold one person per arm, Yamet on the left and Imik on the right as they were roughly the same size.
That was really a bit more than average, I'd have to ask Oakley about that at some point as it might be connected to the Bracelet.
Though as Ronan tried it he immediately folded.
We ended up sleeping in their weird cave house again, Yamet making some oil fried fish for Dinner that Imugi had tossed at him through the window, making him fall over as the fish was bigger than he was.
After that Ronan shifted and broke a shelf,  Both Yamet and Imik chased him around in the confined space with a broomstick and frying pan, cursing him out.
Jamie of course joined in on that, especially the cursing.
The weird shape of the creature form was surprisingly agile,  at least for a bit until he tripped over his own flipper like hands and face planted into the wall.
He was threatened quite a bit to change back and they made him sleep outside with Imugi, which I sincerely doubted was the first time.
The next day we collected Rikaad from wherever the fuck he had slept, IF he had any sleep at all,  and dragged him to the freshly repaired Halcyon, waiting for Ronan to put the Harness on Imugi to go to the beach he had talked about.
As it turned out the beach itself was maybe two hours out and looked exactly like Ronan had described it, sand and trees and all.
The day was actually pretty great,  We collected seashells and then moved on to throwing clumps of wet sand at each other and nobody remembered who even started it.
After that we went into the water, Rikaad actually showing off how good of a swimmer he was, well at least i could be sure he wouldn't drown.
But it was nice to see that he finally took a break, and actually had some fun for once even though he lost the armwrestling against Akeem.
To be fair Akeem was a statue and technically didn't have muscles to best.
Surprisingly enough I nearly won against him,  Both of us have to strain to try and win.
Though he still ended up winning.
After that we went swimming again,  The water here was nicely clear and not as cold as in Kamerasca.
At some point both me and Ronan shifted, splashing water around and making big waves for the others.
Considering Ronan’s big ass Flipper hands he had more success at making bigger waves than I did.
At some point i grabbed his tail with my teeth,  dragging him over the sand and through the smaller waves.
In response he tried to drag me into the water, but only ended up with a mouthful of green fur.
In retaliation for that I jumped on top of him, noting that the weird fin on his back wasn't entirely hair but just covered by the fine strands.
He tried to twist out from under me to not much success,  me being nearly double as heavy as he was.
We roughhoused for a good bit more, making sure to keep a bit distance to not accidentally roll over someone.
At some point Imugi joined in which caused even more chaos as she, despite being part of the crew, was completely unbiased and went after both of us, trying to spit water at us.
The day was over way too fast for my tastes and we ended up sitting on one of the boulders to watch the sun slowly set.
For whatever reason we hadn't properly done that yet,  then again thus far there was either chaos or someone missing.
Well technically Arthur was missing but we knew where he was and that he was okay, probably more so than if he had come with.
Poor guy would just have been seasick the entire time.
Still Poor guy as he was stuck at home with Nea and had to deal with her antics.
We sailed back as soon as the sun was completely down, Imugi being so nice and dragging the Boat again, being sly she spit water at Ronan one last time before dunking her head under and towing the boat.
Aside from that the way back to Kariba Island was uneventful and boring, but strangely enough Rikaad actually thanked me for making him come along.
Well yeah duh, he was our friend, and clearly had needed a break.
It wasn't fair that he had to do all this King stuff,  He was only eighteen and as Oakley had once said that was just a Number and didn't magically make someone an adult.
It was mean that he just didn't get to do fun stuff anymore that was considered childish, just because of his title.
But it was very clear he wouldn't trade the title or let anyone else try to do it as long as he could do it himself.
Yeah I'd remind him from now more that even he needed breaks.
Being lazy we slept on the ship,  Akeem somehow Procured a bunch of blankets and pillows.
I refrained from shifting, not wanting to steal so much space and ended up in the middle of the sleep heap, back down on the deck.
I stared up at the stars till long after everyone else was asleep, simply watching the moon and the star Fable had pointed out to me.
Lafayah, the north most star that was sometimes used to navigate.
It was nice, just laying there surrounded by people that did not want to kill me, surrounded by friends.
Simply being there and listening to their breathing as they slept.
If only it could always be like this, peaceful and calm.
Sadly the next day was a lot more hectic as we got ready to sail back to Kamerasca, the Victory Rose sporting a new mast now.
Before I got onboard Jamie tossed the little bag with my stuff at my head, which I nearly forgot again,  yelling at me to keep a better eye on my stuff.
Then the Victory Rose set sail back Home,  the smaller Halcyon following a good bit behind.
Just a few days, and an unnecessary amount of switching between ships with the help of Imugi, later the coast of Kamerasca could be seen.
In a few hours we’d be home again.
Well all of this sure would be a crazy story to write to Fable.
And I still had not worked on my awful handwriting.
