Me and my friend's theory is, "If you picked Jason you appreciate the willingness to use a glock to handle shitheads like the Joker have never been allowed to properly be angry and heal from yourself so the child of the past you had to leave behind is/was a thing of malice, if you picked Tim wtf is wrong with your methods of validation and/or your parents strongly believe in the merits of self sacrifice but still wonder if people would even care to see you go, even if you do believe yourself to be incapable of true love and loyalty, if you picked Dick you've probably formulated hundreds of edits of him to 8D stripper music in your head and one of those edits is bound to have him in a toga always been told you're "special" by the people you looked up to but you're worried you'll somehow one day lose this and then you'll have nothing, if you picked Damian you have a deeply concerning attachment to red flag characters who lash out in fear of hurt I'm looking at you Scaramouche fans fear you were only kept around by loved ones for some superficial value and one day you'll be left behind once they realize you aren't worth it, if you picked Steph you relish the chaos of your crowd because it has given you love like you've never known which is why you are unafraid to fist fight their enemies at 10pm in a Walmart parking lot are afraid of what you've done with your life and what you're going to do because you are still, unfortunately, you, but some acts of yours have become unrecognizable in your fight to survive.
This was actually really fun to write out, I'm severely considering doing more in depth analysis on this.
joining the bat fandom is so fun, you pick a robin and hold onto that thing for dear life

ok. The first thing that comes to mind. Is the most questionably canon ship I could think of. And I don’t know who remembers this, but in Justice Leage: Apokolips War, it is CANONICALLY STATED, that John Constantine and King Shark used to be a thing. SO. I FEEL LIKE THAT’D BE A INTERESTING WEDDING.
However, while a bunch of shark people+the suicide squad on King Shark’s side and all the demons/delinquents/magicians/entities of space and time on Constantine’s side would probably be a sight to see, I feel like this is a very joking answer. Bc. Like. C’mon.
which two DC characters could, by getting married, bring together the most chaotic, ill-fitting, hilarious group of people in the DC universe?
(points only awarded if you can make a case that said character would probably attend the wedding and stay for longer than two minutes)

you know what one of my favorite tropes is? forced identity reveal. and not just scenes where the villain will throw some poor civilian off a building if the Justice League doesn't stand up. I mean the kind where they're forced, through magic or powers or some sort of force, to reveal themselves.
Kryptonians are immediately identified in the crowd with kryptonite. Every Lantern hisses as their rings start to flare at the same time, glowing wildly on their hands. Glamours are forcibly dropped. Like that.

“Batman and Superman have public fights on the Watchtower to throw off people from looking into their relationship” and “this only convinces people even more that they’re fucking” are two statements that can actually be true at the same time.

this is most reassuredly NOT a Diana x Barry post but do you ever think Diana has thought a little too long about how much Barry looks like Steve Trevor. Bc I already love Barry and Diana’s dynamic, it feels like well meaning disaster cat and their girl boss protector, but like, the blue eyes, fluffy blond hair, desire to do good, be good, help the world. Diana is completely unattracted to Barry, but maybe she is a bit haunted by the thought of losing another hopeful, heroic dear one to the greater good. Maybe every time that woefully stupid kid goes out to try and do some speedster patented level of self sacrificial-ness, her hearts jolts a little bit. Maybe sometimes, in some universes, where Barry Allen is lost to the speed force or Lex Luthor or Reverse Flash or whatever it is, and she sits down to look back at what she’s lost, and weeps for the bright smiles and fierce faith that was her lover and then her friend. Maybe sometimes she can’t tell if the smell of burning from her nightmares is from Steve’s ship or the way ozone crackled through the air as Barry faded to nothing. Diana, will you, who has no other choice but to do so, be content in living on? Or will it kill you, your dead man and dying boy, who you can never seem to save in the universes that matter the most.

Men be like “Dam I wanna be like Anakin Skywalker 😎” and I respond with “Oh so you want to languish and love and loathe for a woman? You want to defy death and sacrifice your soul for the smallest chance to save her, indenture yourself to the forces of darkness, slaughter and sin and betray everything you’ve ever known for her? Will you worship the ground she walks on like he did?” and they reply with “I actually meant that I wanted the cool bg music and insane rizz so no wtf is wrong with you”

I feel that some of the recent (post-tbosas) hunger games takes are going a little too heavy on the whole "snow hates katniss because she reminds him of lucy gray" "he's beefing with a teenager over his ex from 60 years ago" thing. like obviously yes the fact she's singing lucy gray's songs, using the mockingjay symbol etc makes it all that much worse for him (and more satisfying for us knowing how his downfall is tied to those he wronged in his ascent to power). but also.. he very much primarily hates her and wants her dead because he is an evil tyrant and she represents a threat to the power and control that he cherishes above all else. it's personal on some levels but it feels pretty crucial to the story to acknowledge that he would treat her the exact same regardless of background context because he is the oppressor and she is the oppressed.

Names in The Hunger Games series obviously hold a lot of symbolic meaning. Whether it be a particularly on the nose name for characters like Peeta or the complete absence of one for characters like Mrs Everdeen, Suzanne Collins puts a lot of thought and care into names. One that I haven’t seen people talk about so far is Livia Cardew.
Livia Cardew is a rude, cruel classmate that Snow despises. When we are introduced to her character, Snow thinks that she, "had always been prone to gloating," (tbosas). She is assigned Facet, a strong boy from District 1 with a good chance of winning the games, and Snow hates that she acts, "As if the plum assignment was solely a reflection on her, and not on her mother running the largest bank in the Capitol," (tbosas).
The character Livia Cardew is named after Livia Drusilla, wife of the first Roman Emperor Augustus and mother of the Emperor Tiberius. Livia Drusilla came from a powerful Patrician family in Rome, with her father inheriting a substantial fortune around the time of her birth. She was married prior to her marriage with Augustus, giving birth to two sons before her divorce and subsequent remarriage to Augustus. Although he believed these sons to be proof of her high fertility, Livia was only able to give Augustus one stillborn child during their marriage. Livia Cardew reflects the early life of her namesake Livia Drusilla, in that she comes from an influential banking family that helps her get ahead in society. The advantage she has being assigned the District 1 boy only widens the gap, making her a frontrunner to win the scholarship. However, just as Livia Drusilla loses her child with Augustus, Livia Cardew's tribute dies before the games even begin, removing her from the competition entirely. Moreover, Livia attempts to "steal" Clemensia's tribute while she is ill, "demanding new tributes be brought from the districts, or at least that she be given Reaper, the boy assigned to Clemensia, who everyone thought had been hospitalized with the flu," (tbosas). Similarly, Livia Drusilla campaigned with her husband to make her son Tiberius his heir after she failed to give him a son, though she was only successful after the death of his nephew Marcellus and disgrace of his daughter Julia.
Further connecting Livia Cardew to her historical namesake, it is implied that Snow marries her after the events of tbosas. In the epilogue, Snow thinks, "If he ever married, he’d choose someone incapable of swaying his heart. Someone he hated, even, so they could never manipulate him the way Lucy Gray had. Never make him feel jealous. Or weak. Livia Cardew would be perfect. He imagined the two of them, the president and his first lady, presiding over the Hunger Games a few years from now," (tbosas). Just as Livia Drusilla became Empress of Rome, Livia Cardew would become the First Lady of Panem. Livia Drusilla was seen as the ideal matron in the early Roman Empire, as a steadfast and supportive wife who oversaw domestic affairs like the home and children. In the same way, Livia Cardew is Snow's ideal wife, a girl with an advantageous family name and no emotional ties to get in Snow's way.
Finally, Livia Drusilla was often villainized by Roman authors the same way Snow villainizes Livia Cardew. Annals by the author Tacitus portrays Livia as a murderous, evil woman in cahoots with her son Tiberius to steal the Empire after Augustus' death. Over and over he reveals his own prejudice against women in ancient Rome, inserting his personal opinions into a work he claims is unbiased truth.  He often uses negative language to describe Livia Drusilla, saying that, “There was also [Tiberius’] mother with her female unruliness,” (Tac. Ann., chap. 1).  Tacitus’ choice to specify that Livia’s shortcoming relates to her gender highlights his lack of respect for women, and his expectation that all Roman women fit a specific mold. In the same way, Snow constantly thinks the worst about Livia Cardew, thinking things like, "Unlike Livia, Clemensia received news of her good fortune with tact," (tbosas). Livia Drusilla was often associated with poison (a "woman's weapon"). There were many rumors about her killing enemies of herself or Augustus using the very method Snow adopted as his own by the events of the original trilogy.
tl:dr Livia Cardew is based on Livia Drusilla, wife of the first Roman Emperor and holds a lot of similarities to the historical figure
