Okay I was watching some offhand Disney videos and I’m popping in to say that I think Disney should build a great movie ride-style dark ride just about Disney villains. And it should be very atmospheric and have good animatronics. It should be like villains grove but have actual little dudes in it.
Like Headless Horseman, Chernabog, Horned King, dragon Maleficent, Ernesto de la Cruz, like genuinely scary stuff.
And I say this because allegedly Universal will have a Universal Monsters land and dark ride and that sounds so damn cool and I am legit upset that my favorite theme parks (at least here in the states) refuse to do anything scary. We lost alien encounter. We lost the alien part of great movie ride. We lost the tower of terror on the west coast. We lost Snow White’s Scary Adventures. And the haunted mansion and pirates were neutered before they were even built.
Honestly the scariest part of anything at Disneyland/DCA is the laughing place scene in splash (and thank goodness we’re losing that, too)
There are adults (and even some kids and teens!) who want to be scared and enjoy it. It can still be “family friendly” without being neutered. Look at how much more hardcore Phantom Manor is in Paris! Recall the (sadly now lost) Cinderella Castle Mystery Tour in Tokyo! And doesn’t Hong Kong do actual haunt-style mazes with scare actors at Halloween? Why do the US parks get the shaft (jk I know why)
They could easily implement a strict height requirement to keep little kids from riding and obviously use their best judgement for adults who are shorter. But I want some spooky stuff in Disney because it’s there! When Disney was losing the most money and feeling lost before the Renaissance is when they made some of their craziest shit! Return to Oz! Black Cauldron! Something Wicked! The Watcher! Alien Encounter! GMR! Tower of Terror! Like come onnnnn why wouldn’t you do something that might help lure away HHN fans??

Genuinely I think a lot of my photos (and sometimes videos) turn out well at Disney because they obviously put a lot of work into the painting, texture, and lighting of their spaces. So no matter what, when you take pictures it’ll look really good. I think Galaxy’s Edge is the best example of this. No matter your skill or equipment, people’s photos turn out really beautiful.
