Hello 2018, Here you are. I have been waiting for you. I have been waiting with the hope that you would bring a new beginning. I have been waiting for you to start, so that I can leave the unhappiness behind of 2017 while I take the happy memories along with me.

Hello 2018, There you are. Lots of people have started with their good intentions for the New Year. I, on the other hand, am only hoping for a better year. Would it be too much to ask? All I want is happiness and health for my loved ones, and believe me, 2017 wasn’t that kind to us. Of course there are memories from 2017 that I love, that I cherish and that makes me so happy. But why was 2017 so hard on me and family? I beg of you, 2018, could you more easy on us?

Hello 2018, Here you are. I am welcoming you. I hope that you will be gentle to all of us; I hope that my hope will not be my downfall; I hope that you won’t punish me for my wishes and good will; I hope you will be gentle on my family, especially those who are hurting; And I hope that you can give them hope as well. Hope for light at the end of the darkness, no matter what happens. Please 2018, please.

Autumn and winter, I don’t hate you anymore.

I never had a love for the cold months in a year. I rather wished them to stay away. Ever since I was little I had a dislike for the cold and wet weather that autumn and winter brings. I am older now, and I finally see the beauty of every season. I like my morning cappuccino much more now, as the cup warms my cold hands before I start to write; I love sitting on the couch with my fluffy blanket when I read a book or watch a show; I like the sweet scent of hot chocolate with cinnamon and I love how the sun is always stronger than anything. She even shows herself on days when the weather is cold and heavy. For her to be there, even in the coldest of days, is like having hope all the time in a world such as this one.

I don’t hate autumn and winter anymore. I’ve started to love them and with that, I have started to love life even more than I did before.
