Rashida Tlaib has set up a petition to send to the White House to recognize and stop the ethnic cleansing and forced displacement happening in Gaza. If you’re a US citizen please sign. I have no illusions that this will change policy, but the public outcry against their actions must continue. We will not be distracted or discouraged from continuing to object to these humans rights violations.
another petition for tiktok to unban inquisitiore3 account. i'm not sure how well this will work, but i hope it can gain traction and hopefully it'll reach somewhere! ☀️
Rest in peace inquisitore3/Vincent.💔🕊 fly High Man.❤....
SIGH THE PETITION!!
He was only 23. He didn't deserve the way he was treated. Accused and rumours made saying he was a groomer that weren't true at all. They were only proven to be fake after he killed himself on live. No one even let him speak to defend himself. He was undoubtedly a wonderful beam of kindness and love. Sick world we live in. Rip 🙏
I was just thinking that the other day. IDK what republic law looks like but I assume they have laws governing both people and droids. People are under similar laws that we have, and droids are regarded as extensions of whoever owns them to prevent them from being used as proxies.
So since clones aren't recognized as people, nor are they droids owned by a singular entity, do they technically have some kind of legal immunity in civilian courts? In the military, a clone would probably be tried by a tribunal if they committed any crimes. But outside of the military?
Imagine an AU where the Republic didn't collapse and the Senate retained power after winning the civil war. The Senate is in a HUGE deficit and since the war is over they opt to cut back on military spending. This cutback includes letting some clones go from the military. Since these clones don't have citizenship and zero experience regarding civilian life some quickly find their way into trouble and end up in jail. Some plucky lawyer sees the loophole and takes the opportunity to make a name for themselves. They offer to represent the clones in court free of charge. The day comes and the layer argues that the clones can't be persecuted under republic law because they are technically non-entities. They're not legally droids, nor are they people. If a lothcat steals scalefish from a vendor do you charge it with theft? No. because the cat isn't recognized as an entity under the law and can't be charged. The clones are in the same position. The Judge takes a look at the statutes and the lawyer is technically correct, the clones are non-entities under republic law. The judge could have sympathies for the clones, or they could just like drama, but either way, they let the clones off scott-free with no charges.
That's when shit hits the fan.
The news spreads like wildfire and the new loophole is used more often to defend clones in court. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it gives rise to a new problem. It exposes to the public how poorly the republic (Cough Cough The Senate, Cough) treats its veterans. They're not even legally people. Protests spark and movements gain momentum to grant the clones sentient rights. Senators are bombarded with petitions from activists and for some travel is impeded by protestors. Eventually, the Senate is forced to bring the topic of clone rights to the table. The debate goes on for months. One of the first things brought up in debate is the loophole. They need to recognize the clones as people if only to close the loophole. Someone suggests recognizing them as droids. And since senate meetings are broadcasted live everyone currently protesting hears that little gem. Unfortunately for that senator, more than a few of those activists are pretty handy when it comes to tech. People figured out where he lived and power to the building was intermittently interrupted for months on end. He received enough death threats that some of his comm accounts were rendered unusable due to the influx. Only a few were credible, but it was enough to justify tightening security.
Then, after months of debate and weeks of filibusters from various parties, the Senate votes on a bill. It would grant the clones the same rights enjoyed by all sapients within Republic space. The bill doesn't recognize them as citizens, an unfortunate concession to a few stubborn senators, but its personhood, and that's a start. Voting begins. Outside there's a massive crowd, one of the largest turnouts seen thus far.
The bill passes with one of the narrowest margins in the Senate's history. But in the moment it doesn't matter.
Because it passed.
After years of neglect, violence, and protest the clones were finally people in the eyes of the government they'd spent the entirety of their lives working to preserve.
From there more bills are drafted. Bills regarding veteran care and benefits, training for the civilian sector, and care for when their accelerated aging caught up to them. It would take time, but they waited this long.
And all this over a single loophole.
if clones don’t have sentient rights does that mean they can’t go to prison
Someone should make a mod where after a certain point the game will run a secret background intimidation check. If you pass the thugs will have alternate dialogue and nope out before fighting you.
"We're here to teach y-... Nope."
Bonus points if you can scare them into telling you who hired them.
dealing with hired thugs in skyrim after a certain point just feels unfair to the thugs
Sums it up pretty well. Should be the game's description on Steam.
In case anyone doubted Cody's dedication to the bit he not only retrieved Obiwan's lightsaber on Ryloth and Utapau, (two separate and active warzones) but he also went into the fucking vacuum of space to get that damn lightsaber.
the fact that there’s an entire arc in tcw dedicated to how giving someone your lightsaber shows trust in a romantic connotation and codywan has not one, but TWO scenes with this drives me up a fucking WALL.
their relationship is built, inherently, on the mutual trust and respect they have for each other, and this is just. an extremely beautiful way to show that.
especially with Cody handing Obi-Wan the saber with the emitter facing himself. he fucking loves and respects and trust Obi-Wan so deeply and that is what makes their relationship SO refreshingly good
Oh my GOD this post brought back some memories. I remember this game from when I was younger. I played it for a bit today and this game is nostalgia city for me. Anyway, I recorded some of the scenes mentioned so here are some of the Cody/Obiwan scenes.

And here's a longer video if anyone wants more context as to what's going on.
