I got you OP:
Character Cheat Sheet - Dawn of Yangchen
Yangchen - I'm sure you know this one
Kavik - likewise
Kalyaan - Kavik's lost older brother
Jetsun - Yanghcen's lost older sister
Nujian - Yangchen's flying bison
Boma - Yangchen's companion, an elderly air nomad
Pik and Pak - lemurs!
Bin-Er:
Zongdu Henshe - the Zongdu (temporary elected leader) of Bin-Er, and also the man trying to get his hands on Unanimity
Qiu - the not very competent broker who used to work with Kavik
Mama Ayunerak - the elderly water tribe woman who runs a shelter and a soup kitchen in Bin-Er
Sidao - the stuffy earth sage who officially is supposed to advise Avatar Yangchen (he's a spy for the Shangs though)
Shangs: honestly you don't really need to know all their names, just that the shangs are rich nepo-baby merchants
Jonduri:
Tayagum - water tribe man, spy/companion of Yangchen, he sailed the boat that picked up Kavik from the drop off point
Akuudan - Tayagum's husband, has one arm, runs an inn/secret safehouse, is a spy/companion of Yangchen
Chaisee - the Zongdu of Jonduri, and the mastermind behind Unanimity
Jujinta - works for The Association, throws knives, foul temper, is assigned to be Kavik's partner
Pang - works for the association, leads the raid on the docks
Tael - one of the higher ups in the association, but not the boss-boss
World Leaders:
Oyaluk - high chieftain of the northern water tribe
Gonryu - Firelord
Feishan - the earth king
General Nong - general who tried to overthrow Feishan
Character Cheat Sheet - Legacy of Yangchen
Northern Air Temple
Abbot Sonam - elderly monk, leader of the Northern Air Temple
Mingyur - young monk in charge of guarding Unanimity, nearly died when Thapa attacked.
Yangchen's team/allies
Nujian - her flying bison
Pik and Pak - the flying lemurs
Tayagum and Akuudan - still water tribe husbands, still very loyal companions of Yangchen. Akuudan has only one arm, Tayagum has more suspicions of Kavik.
Jujinta - newly converted loyal follower of Yangchen, carries so many knives.
Boma - airbender monk, companion of Yangchen
White Lotus:
Mama Ayunerak - high ranking member of the white lotus; teaches Kavik for a while; petty old woman tbh
Do - lower ranking fire bender
People in Taku:
Zongdu Chaisee - mastermind of Unanimity
Kalyaan - Kavik's asshole older brother
Tael - violent man in Chaisee's association
Zongdu Iwashi - rich leader of Taku, he likes to gamble, and he doesn't play fair
Zongdu Ashoona - old man leader of Port Tuugaq, honestly unimportant to the plot, just let him retire
Unanimity:
Thapa - the greedy one who betrays the others
Yingsu - the woman, who ends up cooperating with Yangchen
Xioayun - the one who's killed really early on
Other:
Oyaluk - head of water tribe
Gonru - head of fire nation
Feishan - head of earth kingdom and also, hyper-paranoid man who does his own spying
Mesose - someone important to one of Yangchen's past lives.
Master Lio - Kavik's fake name
Reitei - little boy who survived unanimity experiments, sorta kinda a combustion bender
Hsien - little girl who survived unanimity experiments, probably the first chi blocker
Mistress Guaba - the maid at the avatar's mansion; she's not particularly important, she just amuses me.
I think those are all the recurring characters. I tried to keep spoilers to a minimum. Hope this helps!
I’m struggling to read yangchen because of the amount of names being thrown at me 😓

Do you sometimes write something so good, you're reading your own WIP and go "what's next? i want more!"
And you're the bitch that has to write more.
Only read, no writeeeeeee

This reminds me, there's a book that is essentially published Jane Austen fanfic, called The Murder of Mr. Wickham
and
It is very good. Wicked good, I recommend it with my whole heart.
One of the two main protagonists, the eldest Darcy child, is autistic. Not that the author can use the word autistic in a book set in the 1820's or so, but it's very clear and intentional.
If you love Jane Austen and you read Mr. Darcy as autistic, you will probably like this book.
Mr Darcy is so fucking unsubtle all of the time I truly don't understand how Elizabeth doesn't get it. Someone mentions Elizabeth likes books? Darcy immediately goes into a rant about how he wants a wife that reads. Elizabeth says she wants to live close to her family? Darcy is bending over backwards to figure out how far is too far, would she mind it if she could easily travel back at forth, would she miss the people or the places. My girl he's so down bad, he's just autistic.

So today I got a rather unkind comment on AO3 (one could call it hate), but I believe it to be a bot for several reasons:
Guest account, but username attached
Said username exists but person is unlikely to be reading Tolkien fic (according to their Tumblr and AO3, they are in other fandoms)
Two grammatically correct sentences
Super generic text that could apply to any fic:
"I've seen better fanfiction written by a toddler. Get it together!"
I'm curious, did anyone else get comments like this? Let me know.
And to those who have gotten rude comments and are now worried/upset: Maybe it was just a bot too. Either way: You're awesome for putting your writing out there for others to enjoy and you don't deserve to get rude comments for it. If you want feel free to message me to compare cases and discuss details :)

The Air Temples had an expression regarding outside visitors who were shocked and disappointed by the incredible volume of chores the monks and nuns had to busy themselves with to support a few hours per day of meditation and study. Weak eyelids. Enlightenment was a muscle, and the world was too heavy for most.
